Set the computer hosting to UTC to ensure respawn timers work properly. Other than that it's all you can do. Everyone's times should be synced as that is data that comes from the server. Maybe I am miss understanding the question, if I am can you provide more details to your problem?

Hello, not sure how to troubleshoot this but I have my server running and I'm able to see it on the list in game but when I go to try and join it I cannot. Can anyone offer some advice on how to figure out why?

Quick question that I am sure people are tiered of seeing...does the reply feature actually currently work or not? We definitely have the feature enabled on our server, but hitting F2 seems to do nothing and when we back out, there is nothing in our replays. (Evrima)
If you are experiencing issues with your controls since the latest update (can't move camera, unable to court, etc) then please try wiping your config files in localappdata.
- If running The Isle, exit the game.
- Press the Windows key
- Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
- Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
- Open the "Saved" folder.
- Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
- Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

oml sorry, i thought u were trying to actually modify the game.ini, if you want evrima use pingperfect . Im not sure if nitrado supports it. but as a side note, you can rent an RDP (Dedicated Server) for the same $60ish a month and run mutliple servers plus your discord bots if you have any

hmm now i am struggling with admin panel. I added steamid - even when i connect i get it in log "Player Connecting .. Steam_Id:" it is exactly what i copied but when i restart server i can't access admin panel

Anyone figured out how the game calculates the grows?
It uses float numbers that dont make sense, log shows untill 1.00 while admin view shows 0.75 being the max.
Growth numbers are different for each(?) species.
If I recall correctly it's based on individual model sizes which it discretely steps between, so it's completely arbitrary
So growth percentage only "updates" when the player has reached the next available model size, rather than on a set update frequency
From memory there is a curve which is used to calculate weight and bite-force based on growth percentage, it's not 1:1
So all in RCON report 0.75 as "full grown". If you go through the logs youll see some are as a percent (0-1) and some are maxed at 0.75 for instance this is a log where a player logs out exactly 4 minutes after reaching full grown in my server.

im trying to host an isle server and as I was following the document, i got stuck on the part that asks me to find the file path: TheIsle\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\Game.ini could anyone carlify for me how to find this/creat it if i have to?

You have to code something like that in lets say python, use a game panel api to restart it.
Doesn't need to be python, you can do it all through scheduled tasks
I did it through Powershell but I wanted to be a little fancy about it

Thats what i meant, it does not have to be python
So using scheduled tasks wont properly close the server for a normal restart. if you wanted to do a full pc restart that option is perfectly fine, but if you needed to do more complex option like keeping other bots running you will have to code it out to end the server task and just make a bat file that detects crashes and relaunched
From memory if you had TI running as a service it would shutdown gracefully when windows issued the Stop-Service cmdlet (either through scheduled task or otherwise), if you don't do it that way I suppose a script or bot that connects to rcon and issues the command there would be the only way
I could of sworn that you used to be able to have automatic graceful shutdown behaviour inside the server config without relying on external queues but maybe I'm misremembering.

I'm trying to run a server but it changes every couple of weeks when I update the server.
Is the logging supposed to change from being less verbose to more verbose? Is there a way to configure that level of logging?

Perhaps TheIsle uses something like ICMP pings for latency and normal UDP/TCP for server connections, and the former is being dropped by your network/firewall/ISP for some reason

Hi all, I'm running into an issue where my server doesn't appear in the server listing. As far as I can tell I've setup the game server and firewall correctly. The game server starts and doesn't produce any errors that don't appear to be already documented online as benign. I'm forwarding TCP/UDP 7777-7778 to the game server and I've confirmed that the traffic is getting through my firewall. I also tried opening 27015 just in case but no luck.
I based my setup largely from the following article but changed things for linux(ubuntu) where needed.

Oddly enough I've also noticed that when I shutdown the server it appears to be deleting the Engine.ini file.

FTP to your server and check the Game.ini file, make sure GPortal put bEnableGlobalChat=true under the [/Script/TheIsle.TIGameSession] section of the config
Port forward (open firewall) all 3 ports (if enabled), queue, query and game port.

Also what kind of server are you running? Like a normal host or a dedicated server? Most normal hosts have a section where you put in admins and it will override whatever you put in the game.ini

So we fixed it, with the drop down but the extra admins have to be at the bottom of the game ini file for it to work
Huh okay weird I just fixed my day long error, if you the a EOS timeout try changing the ports to something different than the standard ports, for me that work even though it was all allowed in the firewall, it wouldn't work on the default ports

Has anyone looked at speeding up the boot time for a server ? Looking at the stack calls, it looked like there's a dumb wait timer where nothing happens during initialization. Surely this can be remove.
What you mean with wait timer? Can you give an example?

@jagged imp During the start process, at some point the server simply doesn't do anything. It just sit there and wait. You can see this behavior by looking at the calls stack of the application. In total, my server takes 2-3 minutes to be ready. Of which, it seems there's 100 to 120 seconds of waiting.

This only takes 40-60 secondes. It's done long before it server is ready
I've not poked around trying to RE the server but a couple of guesses:
- Server is multithreaded and the wait call you are seeing is one of the threads waiting for another
- Remembering the server is made in Unreal, the wait might just be something that the various caching and streaming processes need to get sorted before players start joining
- It might just be a workaround for some bug or issue observered that only gets experienced in the first minute or two after the server boots
I've noticed that the official servers tend to struggle for the first few minutes after they finish booting, with players stuck at the central spawn location under the world; This might be because of the sheer number of players spawning, or it might be because there is some background things that need that time to warm up when the server boots

Buddy had screensharing on, was watching entire time.
He was standing still but on my screen looked like he fell 2 meters out the air
From what I've seen AI are being culled very aggressively once they are out of range of players, I don't think there's any config settings we can change for that
I have noticed some of that but only when transitioning from long to medium range when the physics replication occurs (the further players are from each other, the less replication happens between them, and this can lead to some unexpected stuff as that resolved things)
It should not be occuring for close players, that should only happen if one (or both), players has bad latency or packet loss
Hi, on our server we are only getting 30-60 AI spawns. Only fish! whilst before with same player count we would get 250+. Anyone else had this problem since the update?
New ai patch so probably the way the configuration was handled is changed.

Just restart it, your script should try and get the latest update automatically.

After last update (server is on last version) when trying to login to the server i am getting "data acquisition failed" anyone had that issue?
That just means that the connection to the server failed
i mean i know that i didn't gave you more info but i don't even know where to look at. Everything worked then there was an update and now i am getting this error. Nothing changed. Firewall is not blocking anything here. Settings didn't change. When i check logfiles i don't see any problems and everything looks the same as previous logs. So i have no idea where to look now.

Networking issues are notoriously difficult to track down remotely. I assume the server is returning a sane ping?

It shouldn't be, since others don't seem to be having the issue. Client and server version mismatch is a common issue after updates, but if you are certain that's it I'd start at the basics with your host
The docs outline all the available commands. Slay, grow, diet, hunger, ect ect are not options. You can only fetch user data not modify it

That's a patrol zone. It's a small migration zone for you and your group. It can overlap with other people, but it's not for your entire species the way migrations are

Your server clock has to be set to UTC time zone for the respawn timers to work properly.
what have the servertime to do with a respawn cooldown?
If you just turn on the cooldowns and set to say 120 seconds, it'll be based on your clocks time difference from UTC time. So if your an hour behind, it'll be an hour and 2 minutes. Don't ask why, I just know it does for some reason
Ive setup some servers ahead of utc and it works fine, but if you run into an issue that's the fix

Hey all. Is there anyone else running the isle server on Windows, having troubles with AI spawning, and AI going invisible shortly after it does spawn?
They run for a short time, then disappear and stand still, making it impossible for players to find (but they can hear them taunting from invisibility to make things worse)

Notice the information about the killer is incomplete ([]). DM3N0R is the victim. I'm unable to properly count the deaths. Does anyone know if this could be related to special characters in the Steam ID of the player who performed the kill? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure u have them in the [/Script/TheIsle.TIGameSession] section of your game.ini
The spawn cooldown is tricky, your isle server always uses UTC, then you gotta go off the servers timezone on which you run your isle server. Say your timezone is 1 hour ahead of UTC then you'd need a cooldown of 3900 seconds (1h 5min) in your config to have a 5 minute cooldown on the zones. Hope that made some sense, at least this works for me π
Oh yea and u cant deactivate it because the line is bUseRegionSpawnCooldown=false without the "Time"

There are a bunch of reasons why your particular server might not be showing up, can you step through in detail everything you have done?
Where is the server installed, how did you install it, how you are running it, what config changes you made, etc
The most likely reason is your server is a legacy one and your game client is Evrima or vice-a-versa

So UTC+1.. odd, when we have it on 180 the cooldown is zero, at 6900 (1h 5min) its 5 Minutes, since we're 1 hour ahead of UTC 0 and that 1 hour gets poofed due to reasons
Can you do me a favour and try -17940 as your cooldown value? This should in theory give you a 1 minute cooldown? Or -17700 for 5 minutes

It could be your hosts NAT (Network Address Translation), your rented machine likely shares a single external IP with a bunch of other machines and the NAT has to work out which one an incoming connection has to go to

You are probably on the Legacy branch of the game, to switch to Evrima; go to Library on Steam, look for The Isle and right click > Properties > Betas and select the Evrima public branch.
Done that. But now it's come up saying easy anti cheat isn't downloaded. Tried to download it but from browse local files. But when I click Easy anti cheat set up a box flashes up and disappears straight away

im trying to get region cool down to pretty much zero. I know servers are off UTC. Why wont it allow me to put a negative number here ex -17500. I tried on here showinng on the screenshot and I also been adjusting on the game.ini cant get get the cooldown under 300minutes

So im trying to start up my own dedicated server. I went through all the steps and everything should be good to go. When i click on the .bat to start the server it states my server has started. In the other console where it loads all the files it seems to be a never ending loop. Goes up to [999] and then just goes back to [1]. Not exactly sure what could be wrong. Any ideas?

What should we upgrade on our machine if we're getting lags above 120 players? S-FPS drops to 15 and we start to get rubberbanding as soon as we get above that player cap. I feel like we should have enough power to sustain 150 players.
CPU not strong enough, from my experience evrima servers love high single core ghz ones, so stuff like i9 13900k etc.

so if you want the raw server console you need to add the -log argument into your batch and it'll pull up the console - it'd be easiest to just export the whole log window to your own file using >> in the command but you can also do select all and paste into new notepad as well

However, what community servers do to create their bots revolves around reading server logs, sending RCON commands to collect data on player dinosaurs, and linking Discord IDs with Steam IDs. This data is then used to implement custom features such as quests, inventories, statistics and more.
Some people have modified server files to allow custom data injection, enabling real-time modifications like dinosaur injections, setting up mutations to dinosaurs directly, insert custom skin colors to them, and other adjustments.

I just fired up a server in my Pterodactyl. It appears to be working fine, and shows up in the server browser. But its ping shows "-1000", and when we try to connect the game just displays "Data acquisition failed".
I can see in my firewall logs that no connection attempt is made to the game server at all.
What's going on here?

Okay after analyzing the traffic on both sides, I see what it happening. The game server accesses the Internet via a different IP address than the one we expect inbound connections on, so the wrong IP address is being reported to your server catalog.
