Dogs are all great depending on what you like to hunt and how you hunt. Then the tents and treestand/tripod DLCs are really nice additions that you can utilize to make getting around the map and hunting more the way you want to do it.

Medved is more complicated due to its topography... so it will depend on your hunting style. Ultimately, there are approximately 190 wolves across the two reserves. So, it will depend on your hunting style and whether or not you've purchased the DLC.

There are mainly two ways to do this: approaching them or being on location before their need zone time and waiting for them well hidden.
Are you new to the game? Do you have any DLCs?
On this map, the sectors in red are "Potential" drinking zones (08:00 and 12:00). They will be there about 1 hour after the start, so around 09:00.
Tracks in the need zones last for 6 hours after the animals leave, so you must explore and find their zone.

You first have to activate the 2 zero points in Perks/Riffle.
Once it's done.
When you select a zero point example 20m, the top pin is 20m and the others down are 20m apart higher, 20m - 40m - 60m.
If you set your zero point at 40m, the top pin is 40m and the others 20m up, so it's 40m - 60m - 80m.
And so on.

When you find a need zone A that time you hide yourself near and lay down on the ground, use a caller, they will come.

Was just thinking about it but someone the other day mentioned that animals don't despawn and will always be where you found them at the same time the next day unless you kill them
Is that a zone thing? or just in general?

If you don't kill it in a need zone, it will stay in the same spot. If you kill it and create a pressure zone (the pink spot) and advance time, they will come back, but not exactly to the same location—though it's never very far. For example, near a lake, they will come back around the lake but not in the exact same spot.

Yes drink zone are the best cause you have clear view of the game, after it's feeding zones cause they are standing up, and sleep zone last cause they are lay down in rocks and shrubs, it's harder

Just the zones, the track between the zones are just track of there passage, it's pretty useless to track it, they have better senses then you, they'll smell, hear or see you well in advance, unless it's a rare fur type, now you want to track it. Usually the best method, is to go at a need zone and take them from there, depending on the equipment you have you go there and wait near or from a distance 75m or 150m.

One thing that was hard for me is that i was use to play FPS military style, shoot at every thing a saw, but wee are against animals, not the same at all, you can't run and shoot, it doesn't work that way, it's new ball game.

Oddly enough Ive been sorta doing that, at least with bison you shoot and chase them down. At one point in one of the open woods, I was on the quadbike just chasing them down, hoping off, popping shots and then hoping back on 🤣

Then find there need zones and kill the biggest males, at some point Diamonds will spawn, to ''reset'' the animals you quit the game and come back.
The way it works is that on a map there is a certain amount of that species, when you kill one and you come back the game replace the one you killed, doing that it can come back has a Gold, Diamond, etc.

The mallards and geese return often. I use the caller and the decoys; the maximum effect for decoys is 20.
Position yourself with the wind at your back, so the wind is blowing forward in front of you, that's only with birds, they don't have a good sense of smell and they need to be facing wind to land.

Hmm... Not mine. It's accurate, but maybe it depends on the zeroing point you chose. It's certainly not a very powerful weapon; I imagine it must lose effectiveness past 150m.
I mainly use it to kill those that fly away after I've used my shotgun, or to hit them on the ground from far away. In that case, you lose the harvest rule because they must be killed in flight. The best way to see that i think is to go in a shooting range, you'll see how accurate is the weapon, drops etc.

Each dot on your scope is 50m

So if you're shooting something 250m away, aim your scope to where the the dot that's 2 away from the middle dot is on top of whatever you're aiming for

I don't see what you mean. If they are behind dense forest you wont see them or be able to lock on them, the forest could be to dense.
Other think a can think of is a perk or skill that is not activated, like spotting with the scope, or the highlight around the game stays longer.
It could be a bug too, without more details it's hard to say.

There is some skills you can activate that will help you, like less visible in small, big bushes, make less noise etc.
Use olfactory camouflage.
The way i do it, i'd say at 150m, approach crouch slow, 100m lay down and approach fast, 75m lay down and approach slow.
Less then 50m approach lay down slow, but very slow, small shots. You can get to less then 30m depending on the animal.
When you get close, use the trees to hide, a pine tree with branches going to the ground is the best, you can crouch and it wont see you in the tree, move from tree to tree.
