I am writing to all you awesome people out there to say that sadly my time has come to leave Expansive Worlds.

It has been an amazing 5 years and you will never know how much this position has meant to me and how awesome it has been to build and grow this community. Lots of you I feel like I know personally and many have become friends IRL.

I am leaving to pursue my own businesses now in Hunting, exciting but scary times!

We have all been through a lot here together in this community, had a lot of laughs and I appreciate you all more than you could ever know. It feels like a big family!

You know you are in good hands with Jaxy and the rest of the crew!

Next Tuesday I will be joining Jaxy for one last COTW stream, to have some fun and say bye and Thursday will be my last Classic stream, as that is where I started, so lets make it a special one and I will be working out something special for that one!

Discord has this cool new feature that makes running polls and picking your brains much easier. We'll be posting our first poll there shortly!

The merging of trophy-gallery and trophy-lodge channels for both COTW and Classic

We combined these for easier communication. We kept the old gallery channels and renamed them to #🦌︴trophies & #491900799270780929 BUT if you posted something important in ye old lodge channels, they are all the way at the bottom in an archive temporarily. You have some time to grab what you need before we delete it later. We are no longer going to be strict about what is considered a "trophy" either, so feel free to post both trophy and lodge screenshots here and barrage your fellow hunters with compliments all in one place!

• Enhanced Role Colors: We gave Staff enhanced colors which makes our names look extra shiny and noticeable in chat. We've also extended this to content creators (who are gold) and Server Boosters (who have a unique "holographic" style).
• Server tag: See the cool little crosshair thing next to my name? That thing marks you as a true HUNTer and will sit next to your name no matter where you go on Discord when enabled. On both desktop and mobile, all you have to do is go to "Edit Profile", scroll down, and select our server under "Server Tag"

theHunter Classic is getting their own server!

@everyone we have now officially opened a new server for our Classic friends!

It's been a fun journey going at this side-by-side, but for a long time we've basically been smushing two servers into one. And not only are the communities different, but the staff is a bit different too. The lovely folks over at Ringtail will continue to support you over in the Classic server along with lots of nice volunteers from the community.

In 1 week, we will also remove all the Classic parts of this server, so things will change a lot around here! But we hope it'll just make things easier to navigate.

Server permissions update and spamming

We've had a lot of changes around here since our friends from Classic left. Part of this is changing how permissions work.

• To unlock the ability to post pictures, react, join a voice chat, and use the forums you've gotta talk A LITTLE BIT.
• To unlock the ability to embed, screenshare, change your nickname, and use gifs you've gotta talk A LOT.
• To unlock the ability to use external emoji and stickers, you've gotta talk SO MUCH.

We are restricting lots of permissions for new-joiners to stop the bots and spammers, but we still want you to have fun with the place!

Consistency is key, not amount of messages. Spamming will not get you more permissions faster and in fact will only get you punished by mods. Please behave in #🦌︴general and no more ABC spam 😭 thanks!

Hello @everyone! Sorry for the ping, but we’ve observed a higher than normal amount of scams here lately, and we want to make sure you’re aware, as well as give you some tips on how to better protect yourself.

1. Enable 2-step verification for extra protection, this is especially useful if someone were to get a hold of your login details.

2. Never open/click links sent to you in DMs by someone you don't know, and be very careful even if you know the person- their account might have been compromised.

3. If you’ve received a link from someone you know, read the link carefully, many URLs will look very similar to the ones of legitimate websites, but contain small and hard to notice typos.

4. Be extra careful if someone says they want to give you something for free.

5. Is a scammer contacting you? Please report them to a moderator AND directly to Discord: https://dis.gd/request

Some of the more common scams going around are people saying that they’re giving you Discord nitro for free, that they have made a game they want you to play, and/or that they have accidentally reported your account to Steam.

I just wanted to provide a small update on what has been dubbed the Discord "Spring" Clean (Continued).

A little while back we introduced content-specific reactionary roles.

Some of the reasons behind these changes include:

• Slowing down drive-by spamming
• Hopefully reduce bot intrusions (more hurdles :P)
• Better tailor what you as community members want to get notified about within the server

Today, I've gone in and finished that round of changes, and this means:

• Audio and text discourse channels now sit behind their respectively themed roles (so tidy!!)
• News, basic bug reporting information, and Community Creator alerts are visible without roles so that anyone can still stay up-to-date! Especially those who have followed our news channels on other servers.

Do you, or someone you know, live in or near Copenhagen? Our fam at Nordisk Games are recruiting for an upcoming (paid) playtest!

Sessions are planned from Tuesday 22 February - Saturday 26 February. Each session will be 4 hours long and take place at Nordisk Games headquarters, in Valby, Copenhagen or remotely depending on your location. The reward for participating is a 750 kr.
