Hey all! I'm trying to "zero" the .45 Cyclone Air rifle to 400m, but the Hirschfeld shooting range doesn't work because the .45 has to aim so high to hit the target, that you end up hitting the structure above them instead.

So I was wondering if either of these two things were possible-

1- does anyone know of a shooting range that can accommodate the shot I'm looking to take?

2- Is it possible to mod and remove the hirschfeld structure in the shooting range, invite me into the hunt and let me use it?

I'm on PS5 so I can't mod myself, unsure what the limitations are in that regard.

The 7mm has penetration issues at long range against large game. As long as you keep the rifle within it's effective range it will work just fine though.

For what, exactly? They're all excellent. If you like big game and want to quickly stack cash without investment, the Emerald Coast is excellent. Banteng and Crocodiles are easy to hunt and you can run up and down the eastern coastline infinitely and farm them both. There's also a huge variety of species only available to that particular map, such as kangaroo, and several deer species to hunt as well.

If you're more into small game though, it's somewhat limited.

The Australian map is definitely great. If you need money just hunt for salt water crocodiles .

If you're like me and you love small game hunting, the Salzwiesen Park is the absolute best. Numerous duck and goose species, raccoons, Foxes and raccoon dogs, grouse and pheasant. It takes investment to do it (tripod stands, electronic caller, tents etc) but you can make more money by calling in 2 species of goose at once and taking out flocks with .10ga bird shot. Since geese that are called in don't care about hunting pressure you can stay in the same area and make around 10k per flock you call in. The map itself is great as well, offering open fields, dense woods, coastline wetlands and marshes to hunt. It's my favorite map, but I'm a small game enthusiast and don't mind that there is nothing higher than class 2 on the map.

I recently got the ambusher pack this sale. Is it worth carrying around the electronic caller with me all the time?

400m with a .22 is considerably difficult compared to any other (gunpowder) rifle, as their parabolics start dying off at around 200m and the bullet starts to enter free fall around 250m. Unlike other rifles that can zero out to 300m and stay relatively flat.

I had to get the Mil-Dot 02 scope, zoom to 16x and use the 4th (bottom) Mil-dot to land a 400m shot.

Hitting a class 3 at 300m with the .45 Cyclone was far more difficult though. It's got an effective range of 50m.

Not all the time, but for ducks and geese it's priceless. Standard callers have the problem of geese and duck often landing too close to you and spooking, even in a hunting structure, but you can set the caller 50m away and the animals wkll never spook. I even went AFK for 10min just to see what would happen and ended up calling in about 40 Eurasian Wigeon and Teal. They piled on top of each other so much I killed like a with a single shot.

All, this is the step where you shoot down exteriors and try to stack diamonds in the main zones. Choosing mains is usually just choosing zones you like best. Those with big animals, good visibility etc

You rotate to prevent overhunting a single zone and to increase your total pool of potential shooters, but you don't need to rotate them all if you feel they're too much.

That said, deer you shoot in one herd won't necessarily respawn in the same herd you shot it in, it could respawn in an open slot of another herd, so if you're hunting multiple herds, make sure to keep up with them.

You can, with enough patience, get an entirely diamond herd by playing musical respawn slots with multiple herds. It's largely RNG and a major grind, but it's possible. I don't mess with that kind of effort. 😂

Say you have 2 herds, and one of them is in an area you really like. Excellent vantage point, easy to access, multiple species to keep up with etc.

Say both herds have a max pop of 7 animals each. We'll call the herd in the zone you like, H1, and the other one H2.

You can, over time, transfer all of the best deer in H2 to H1, and all of the worst deer in H1 to H2, by shooting the lowest level deer in H1, traveling to H2, and shooting the highest level deer there.

Since animals can respawn in any open herd slot of their species, there's a chance that the bad deer will respawn in the zone you don't care about, and the good deer will respawn in the zone you do care about.

You can't control this perfectly, but eventually it will stack one herd with monsters.

Just don't shoot more than 5 deer in a single herd, if the max is 7, because they won't respawn if the herd is less than 2 living animals.

Literally any of the open fields. Picking one with few or no hay bales is best to prevent them blocking a shot. Set the electronic caller 50-60m away from your tripod stand and just wait. .10ga bird shot will nuke them from 75m and you can kill multiple geese in a single shot if they're close together.

If you're using stands you're probably hunting zones, so ideally you'd use a caller for the animal you're hunting and trying to lure one close enough for an easy shot

Just be careful of wind direction and use scents if you can

herd management seems complicated but its not that bad. you gotta get familiar with all the drink or feed zones of an animal, and you want to only shoot males over a certain weight estimate. for fallows iirc its anything over 120kg, leaving smaller males.

i have an image of the map i used save so i could write notes on where the need zones are and what the herds are like at this zones. sometimes there will be herds that are all does and those can be checked without shooting anything unless a random big buck moved lol

HM is kind of a lengthly process though so i genuinely wouldnt worry about it yet aside from maybe ignoring any low-scoring bucks you see

great ones are difficult to get by design even with HM, its not uncommon for hardcore max level grinders to shoot thousands of animals before getting even one

im trying to get my main shooting zones to be 9s and 8s and the zones i dont like to be 4s or 5s

so hopefully the 9s and 8s makes low lvls spawn

yeah, if you get a bad shot on an animal & you know it’s gonna take a while to bleed out, you can exit to main menu & it will reset its health, although i only do that on trophies, but it’s something some people do & some don’t, but on regular grind kills i will just leave them, depending ofc, every kill you don’t claim is one less chance to get the g1 so sometimes you just have to focus on one of you don’t have a clear shot for multiple

Zoom seriously affects the parabolics of projectiles, so one tip I can give you is to not zoom in/out when targeting game that is moving. It can seriously impact your perspective on how much to lead a moving target. If you're able to shoot with a 1x or iron sight that's even better. Even with Bird Shot on a shotgun this is crazy noticeable; I can smoke any bird moving at any speed with a 1x reflex sight, but if I'm using the 4x scope I'll only hit it if it's flying directly towards or away from me.

They're the best no investment method, since you can just take any rifle suitable for their class and walk up and down the coast, shooting them endlessly.

The best money farm in terms of money generated per minute, though, is Goose hunting on Salzwiesen Park. You can call two species at once, they stack up by the dozen and they're worth like $1000 each.

The downside is you need to invest in a hunting structure and electronic caller at the bare minimum, and if you really want to maximize it, decoys and a tent for fast travel. But the money is insane.

All that said, crocs are way more straightforward and a diamond/rare croc is way cooler to stumble on than a diamond goose.
