Best to just not use ValhrimPlus at all and find otherQOL mods that do the same thing but are up dated currently and are supported.
Yes, it is highly recommended (by me) to NOT use the Vortex mod manager from nexusmods.com. Instead use the mod manager from thunderstore.io. Vortex just doesn't work for Valheim.

I manged to make a new recipe but the original is still there
man seasonality is cool but the frozen ocean is kinda game breaking, boats still go on it and fish just jump above the ice and you can pick em up

I downloaded down the recipe with console command the wacky save item one, did my change and put in the new yml file
But that doesnt remove the original, and not sure how to ๐
You're mentioning the item but not the recipe.
Item files and recipe files are completely different and are even stored in different folders when generated
You need to use wackydb_all_recipes
Or whatever the command for the recipes is

Afterwards you go to the recipe folder inside the bulk yml folder, copy the file you want, and, more importantly, place it inside the recipe folder that's inside the other wackysdb folder
what are good mods to start with?
QoL is a good introduction:
multicraft - lets you set a station to craft more than 1 thing at a time ie make 10 food items at a time with one click.
planteverything - lets you plant everything like berry bushes, mushrooms etc
massfarming or planteasily - plant and harvest without having to click 200 times
either quickslots or azuextendedplayerinventory to add equipment slots
each skill has a mod by smoothbrain that makes them give you more perks to leveling them so get whichever ones you like to use, i like farming, sailing, building at least
an anti mist mod imo...either mistbegone if you hate it entirely or have fps issues, or deezmistyballs to greatly increase the amount of mist the wisp takes out around you
basically think to yourself "what is really annoying" and theres prolly something to fix that
when you start wanting to up difficulty you can start playing with CLLC, Monstrum, monsterlabz, stuff like that. then throw in cool gear options like wizardry, armory, warfare

You could try turning down or off some of your Graphics Settings in the game menu. Some of them really don't make any difference in the way the game actually looks.
thats what im trying to figure out now, which ones dont change the way it looks too much but can improve the fps
It varies system to system so it's just trial and error for your system.
also when starting to mod should i start all over, or is there no problem in playing in a firstly vanilla server? (i probably know what the answer will be, but still)
You don't need to start over. Doesn't hurt to archive a backup copy of the world, though.

i find thunderstore very easy to use, specially since i used it before to mod on other games, but it seems to lack in some mods nexus has, or at least, i just cant find them
Nexus doesn't work well for Valheim. In fact, many Valheim mod authors won't even upload their mods to nexus.

They may have slightly different names on thunderstore.io. Or they may just not work well for Valheim. Maybe you can find other mods that do the same thing on thunderstore.io.

Can someone recommend a good mod to set structural integrities of individual building pieces separately? I think overall everything is pretty good, but I wanted to increase the structural integrity of Flametal beams a bit so they're actually worth making over wood iron for something other than pure aesthetics.

Usually people figure that out while building? Since it already indicates breakage while building.

You have an outdated mod trying to modify something about the player. You could start by disabling any mods that haven't been updated in 6+months.
I know castix floating items is broken, there are newer alternatives though. Your triple bronze one is very likely outdated too, DigitalRoot has a newer one.

went through all Azu's mods on thunderstore, didnt see any that sounded like they would add that feature. Anyone know another mod that does this? Teleport anything seems like its probably out of date at 7 months since last update and the ashlands update released since then.
If you have access to devcommands, you can also use an F5 console command. It would be setkey TeleportAll.

oh i have a mod that makes every tame able to follow, but i can see how that might not work still. dont have any wolves yet, this was kinda premptively prepping for that so i could bring em back to base when i was done.
The world modifier is only for items, it doesn't do anything for tames
Mods are the only way to get tames through portals

I don't see a mod that will let you teleport tamed pets at thunderstore.io. However, there is another way you can do it, if you are a server admin.
You could use InfinityHammer to 'store' your pets in the hammer and then recreating them at the new location with the hammer after you've reached the new destination. It's not the same as taking them through a portal but it gets the job done.
yeah and unfortunately that option would require me to make everyone an admin so they could do the same if they wanted to. If this was a one off then your solution would work. But im trying to make it so everyone ont he server has the feature available to them.

I've ended up just using one of the food duration multiplier mods, and just make the food duration silly long. Though I miss actually having to manage food resources.

The first thing I would do would be to check mods on thunderstore for any that haven't been updated for Ashlands and disable them first as they are the most likely culprits
yeah i already did that, i only left one old mod which had an update 6 months ago, and i already tested disabling it and it didnt change anything
does EquipmentAndQuickSlots from RandyKnapp work? it says ashlands update but the last update was 7 months ago, and the other option im using (comfyquickslots) isnt quite as nice as the one from randy

An "ok" work around to that, is to bring your tamed to your portal. Kill them, then cross and devcommands them back (you can discard ressources to make it fair)

Thunderstore is just r2modman with ads, so I presume it would.
pretty sure it's working better than it ever did, just sad that their fix was to take out broken things instead of fixing them, but the original author isnt updating it, volunteers are, so we probably wont see anything added and just things slowly taken away as they break.

There are several mods that do that. You can search over at thunderstore.io to find one you like there. Make sure it's updated and supported recently. Do a search there for things like "stucture" and "building". ๐
The Renegade Vikings mod was just recently updated. So, if you haven't been using the one that's updated a couple days ago, you might want to try that.

You can use a configuration manager and go into the InfinityHammer configuration and change "Overwrite Health" option from "0" to "1e30" while in game.
Then when you 'repair' an object, you give it infinite health. Set it back to "0" when you're done.
what i wanna do is like put a blueprint made by other people right, so when its placed its automatically invincible
because the build is too big i cant figure the supports properly hence i need it to be instantly invulnerable when placed

The only way I know how to do that is to use the WorldEdit mod and bind a key to the command "object connect health=1e30".
Then, paste in the bldg and quickly target it and hit the key to execute the command before the bldg has a chance to collapse.

Make a backup of the world first then do "zones_reset". It may take a little while so be patient.

No, save the .db and .fwl with the most recent time stamps as well.
where do i find those
In the worlds_local file for game or server, whichever you're working on. If the files are not recent there, check to see that your worlds are saved to Local not in the cloud. If they're not local, then change them to Local.

You can do a manual 'Save' with the F5 console in game. Or just Esc and use the save option there. Let it have a min to complete.

The errors you posted are generic. You can disable the mods one or a few at a time and test it. Or you can use a mod to flag any old mods that might help.

im being able to craft as many food i want on my cauldron even without the necessary materials and without spending the materials i already own
the only mods im using that i believe could do this would be aaa_crafting and azucraftyboxes
Check your world's keys to see if one of them might be doing that, too. Use listkeys to see if that's it.

You can try re-verifying your game/server files in the Steam Client. And try a vanilla run to make sure that's ok, too.

Whenever I install the Valheim Gods Dominium modpack on thunderstore it downloads a diffrent amount of mods everytime, why is that?
Azu crafty boxes pulls resources from nearby containers for recipe crafting or cooking.
Try making a cooking station a bit away from your storage and that won't happen. Or disable pulling food for crafting in the yaml.
u didn't understand what i said, the point of having azu crafty boxes is exactly for it to pull the items so i dont need to be looking around all my chests, but when i use my cauldron it doesnt pull the items, it just lets me craft anything even without having any of the required items
Ahh my bad, I believe that was related to a bad update to Azu crafty boxes, pretty sure he is either pushing a fix or has already. Alternatively you could just roll back a version and you won't get the no-cost effect

Playing with a couple of mods that adds creatures and I'm starting to get tired of the Standard/basic 8 outta 10 creatures either drop Stone or wood, when I use the drop that mod, and get the files for drop lists, I'm not seeing Stone or wood on any lists ๐ฎ

Feel like 80% of all mobs are dropping so much unnecessary clutter loot I don't want spammed in my game.
like graydwarfs. I just want them to have a chance to drop their Eye and maybe coins, if they dont hit the chance, then nothing drops.

means you have some old mod that isnt made for the latest version of valheim
How much of an impact does Skill Effect Factor have? If the standard is 1.0, and say for example I have Evasion, which reduces the amount of stamina used when dodging. I don't see any specific value of how much it reduces, only Effect Factor, Gain Factor, and Skill loss. So does 1.0 just mean whatever value the creator has it set to reduce? Say it's 15% at level 100, would bumping that up to 2.0 mean it's then 30%? Some of the other stats mods actually show the value of X and how much it increases it by, but others do not.

It might help your server stability. It totally depends on exactly what is causing your issue. You can try loading it on the server first and see if it has an effect. It can also be loaded on player's games.
Also, if you don't need crossplay to support Xbox users, remove crossplay.
i made a server with 5+ players, when all of us are in one area it gets hectic, and i don't think its a hardware issue, all of us are on fiber internet, living pretty close to each other
i have 79 mods installed but when i open the game it says only 76 are loaded
And when you look at the BepInEx plugins folder, how many items are in there? Also, check and see how many, if any, items are in the BepInEx patches folder.

i never said i fixed anything by adding more mods, i only said i added more mods (which was because my modpack wasnt finished, and i was just checking if everything was ok), the problem is not "how many mods do i have", the problem is that the game shows a smaller amount of loaded mods, than the actualy amount i have, i dont get what i did to u 2 so yall could be so ignorant and disrespectful towards me, more than u already were

You're right.
Some "mods" are actually not plugins, so they will not count for the plugin total. This commonly happens if you install a "patcher" mod or a mod that's just extra config files.

If you can access the individual audio files (I honestly don't know much about modding) you could load them into something like Audacity and lower the volume that way.

The earliest comments on "better continents", that i have found, is about 2 months old(besides your request) and range back over a year old. There are about 20 posts about it in a couple different spots, but I am fairly certain that would be pre-live ashlands.

check the config, it was changed. if you still have the old config on the new update, you're doing more damage while rested. best to just delete the comfort tweak config and populate a new one.

i think it's a feature, not a bug. save a copy of your config to another location to remove it from your config folder, then when you next launch a new one will be made and you can make your adjustments.

ValheimRaft didn't add any multiplayer options to it last time I checked (probably 1-2 years ago by now). If anything I aimgine lots of funny bugs with lag, and people glitching out of the ship :p
Another issue with ValheinmRAFT is updates. I had a huge 5k piece ship build just go haywire when I came back from a break. I could roll back the mod and it worked, but was buggy because that version got updated/abandoned for a reason. Ultimately had to us the mass-deconstruct tool in Infinityhammer to remove the whole thing, otherwise being within 1000 yards of the thing dropped my framerate to decimal amounts (my computer can run 20k builds at 100 FPS normally).
It's a lot of fun, but yeah...

autumn/winter has a noticeable fps drop but tbh the way it looks makes it worth it to me. theres an addon for it if you wanna do things like make plants/bees take a break in the winter.
i have the issue where spring is skipped and so far have not been able to find a solution, mod maker says theres no issue and its my bad files even though ive verified and reinstalled the mod multiple times. ive been manually setting it after winter to compensate

For the lag issues, If you haven't already done so, try a game without your mods as a test to determine that one or another of your mods is causing the lag. If is is the mods, then disable them one or a few at a time to find the ones causing the lag.

There are lots of Epic Loot mods. Which one are you playing with, exactly.
Often EpicLoot comes with other mods in a pack and they're all configured differently. You need to make sure that you're actually using not just the mod but also any configs that came with it, if any did.

No, I don't recall the exact distance limits but it's sort of a 'medium' distance. Not too far but requires a bit of exploration and some luck, of course. And sometimes, a good bit of sailing, too.

Getting tired of not being able to build the designs I wanna build xD
There are several mods that disable building structure rules. But they come with some dangers as well as some great and fun opportunities.
For example, when you use such a mod to build a great non-vanilla structure and someone without the mod comes along and gets control of the game chunk where the building is (by simply getting there first), then the building comes tumbling down! Disaster!
But there is a way around that. If you manage to give all the building pieces in the structure infinite health, then they won't fall down in any event. You can do that with the InfinityHammer mod and, I think, also with the WorldEdit mod.
Those two mods are powerful and come with some cautions. They can be a challenge to learn and, if you make a mistake with them, they can create really extensive problems as well as some great buildings.
So, if you use them, use them on well backed up worlds and use them very carefully. Maybe practice with them on your solo world first 'till you get good at using them.
I think we only want the No physics mod, cause we still want raids and such to be able to destroy our base ๐

No, sorry I don't. But I do know that a search over on thunderstore.io for 'building' or for 'structure' will turn up a bunch of possibilities. Just review them and choose one that's recently updated (for Ashlands) and supported. ๐

The original ValheimPlus mod has been broken and unsupported for a couple years now. Grantapher picked up the broken mod, fixed it and re-uploaded it.
So, you can use the ValheimPlus mod safely as long as you get the recently updated Grantapher version. Although, if you use other mods with it you may run into compatibility issues.

Unsure if correct channel, but has anyone encountered a small bug where picking up items does not properly unlock recipes? They will unlock when i quickstack or interact with a chest, but not before that. Only started happening recently (around mistlands), very small modlist consisting of 13 QoL mods.

Mod numbers 3, 6 and 10 all have to do with how the game handles your items. It's likely one of them is keeping the game from reacting to you picking up an item.
If it really bothers you, you can figure out which mod is doing it and remove/disable it. And then try and find a replacement or just get along without it.

The game already gives you an auto stack tool, either via button or by maintaining "f" when opening a chest.
But I'm guessing what you want would be a "drop loot chest" that auto sort in every other chests. I have no solution for that :/

I'm trying to the model files for a few things, I'm not having anything to do with mods. I've just asked in a few channels.
well, to get assets from the game you would need to rip it, just like we do with modding the game, once you have the game ripped you can view the assets in Unity or export their Mesh/Textures from Unity to something like FBX that you can work with in other software.
There isnt an easy way to just yoink the models you want from game, however once ripped and you have it in a unity project it's very easy.
I don't want to sound dumb, but, how does it work? I added it and the config/esp.cfg is confusing. And when I ran it in the game it showed nothing at all.
Enable this either in the cfg file, or using a bepinex config manager. It has a lot of stuff and disabled for a reason.

Technically. Yes.
Most of the mods under that name are solely developed by her. ComfortTweaks for example. Is not.
But they also proceeded to ask damage reduction per level in Tenacity for example. Which is why that was my example given.
Generally her mods are vanilla balanced and never truly overpowered unless explicitly expected to be.

Download ConfigurationManager, and you can edit it easily in-game to your liking. It's not a complicated mod to adjust unless you want to get into specifics with the yaml files, but that's not req to function.
But to answer your question, it's set to use out-of-the-box.

I haven't tried that one, I've tried another mod that added monsters. And basically it depends on the mod. But the ones I've looked at at least, has been trying to balance for solo play, and rely on the default game scaling for multi.

It's honestly not balanced very well, and I think all the dinos are basically too weak compared to the enemies in the same biome. But I just enjoy watching dinos walking around.

Hi all, am on Dathost dedicated server.
I installed xportal mod on the server and restarted it. However, seems that the mod is not loaded. Can someone guide how do i know if the mod is loaded on the server?
Is the mod required to be loaded on your game client as well as the server? If so, you can check your Player.log file for any errors related to the mod being loaded on your game.
To check if the mod is loading on the server ok, you'd need access to the server's log file, if it's set up by Dathost to produce one. That log file would only be accessible to you via the server's SFTP access or Dathost's server access web pages.
yea both Xportal and TargetPortal needs the mod on both client and server

You mean the Player.log for your client, I'm guessing? I'm at work ATM so you'll have to do most of the heavy lifting. You can edit the log file with your Notepad editor and do a Ctrl+F search for "xportal" to look for problems in there and see that the mod is loading without errors.

That sounds like the xportal mod isn't even trying to load. Maybe not installed correctly in the BepInEx plugins folder.
I'd follow @clear lily's advice and just remove xportal alltogether. And check out the "targetportal" mod over at the thunderstore.io's Valheim web site's mod list and review how it works, etc. Then, see if you can load that one on the server and your game.
I'm totally unfamiliar with Dathost's servers so have no idea how to load mods on their server. Just follow their instructions for that and/or review their server website's pages.
xportal requires jotunn to run so that is probably why you would get an error connecting to the server, JVL mods typically enforce being installed on a server, but I think both mods do about the same thing so I would use targetportal cause smoothbrain is a good author. I do see a lot of people having issues with DatHost and running mods, in most cases their server isnt even loading Bepinex to run any mods.
To test if the server is even loading bepinex, delete the LogOutput.Log file in the bepinex folder, restart the server, if it makes a new Logoutput.log then it's working, if not then bepinex isnt starting and no mods are loaded on the server.
Tks @weary island @clear lily. Yea i did try TargetPortal first, installing it both on client and server. Somehow my friend couldnt get his working. He couldnt see all the portals even though he installed it on his end and server already got the plugin.
so we tried xportal but when we logging into the server, it unable to connect as the game couldnt detect xportal plugin on the server even though it's already installed on server.
If your friend couldn't use TargetPortal on the server but you could, then it probably wasn't installed correctly on your friend's game. Or maybe even conflicting with one of your friend's other mods.
I dont think mods are running on the server, as I suggested, try deleting the Logoutput.Lod file on the server. It will be inside the Bepinex Folder. If you restart the server and it doesn't make a new file it means that Bepinex isnt running on the server to load any mods or sync server settings.

TargetPortal, I think you can set portals to private or public, if private only the crafter I think see's that portal.
so make sure to look at the portal after built, it might say private or something

I'm using ver 0.5.0 by Sarcen (14 Jun 2023) and you have to have JVL (Jotunn giant support mod) loaded.
heh, well it's not that large, I mean jvl itself is a "loader" of sorts, so only what mods use of it is used. It does have a TON of features that can be used by authors, most only use 1 or 2 in their mods, but it's an all-in-one loader that adds Serversync, spawns for custom creatures, custom locations, or loads items if a mod is built on jvl.
the alternatives to using jvl to build a mod are coding it all yourself or using some of the tools (api's) smoothbrain and azumatt made to load items/pieces and what have you. Those are usually built into a mod so no extra mod is needed to load a mod built on them.

Dont use the gportal valheim plus option, there should be another option to just add bepinex, then you connect to your FTP for the server and toss what ever mods that need to be on the server in the Bepinex\Plugins folder.

There are several large and decent modpaks over at the thunderstore.io web site. You can search there with the modpak filter and look them over.
Avoid the ones designed for a private servers (they'll say that in the description). And avoid any that aren't updated for Ashlands. They also say that in their descriptions.

One of your mods wasn't installed correctly. Your post doesn't include enough info to say which mod it is. Look over your mod list and see which one is likely to be trying to add weapons.

It's easier to install mods and any dependencies if you use the r2modman mod manager from thunderstore.io web site. It tells you when a mod you choose has dependencies that need to be installed.
yeah i am used to nexus mods, and erm, nexus totally doesn't work with valheim gamer poet just suggested i install manually without a manager since it gets in the way. kinda buggs i get contradictory info and yeah i would rather use a mod manager so i know when something is out of date.
well after ker-jiggering with it for a while, i think im going to ditch nexus mods, and custom meshes, and custom models all together. looks like those 2 are broke and not supported. but i got the knife working.

You can remove the resources added by PlantEverything by deconstructing them with the cultivator. This doesn't apply to vanilla crops.
PlantEasily also doesn't allow you deconstruct vanilla crops. I might need to add an UnplantEasily feature.

Stuff is rendered on the client.
So what would happen if i used it on a server I'm hosting? Would I at least see the change? Or would it likely cause issues?
I think the point is that the server passes along the game activity and sends the various item's names and positions out to the player clients.
Then, it's completely up to the game clients to render the items either in HD or not. So, putting the mod on the server would serve no purpose at all.
Unless you needed to tell the game clients what configuration settings to apply. But, in this case, that doesn't apply. So, this is a client side only mod and should not be installed on a server.

Your best bet would be to do a search over at thunderstore.io's valheim section using a couple different relevant search terms and see what turns up. They'll be marked 'server side' or 'client side' or both.

Check this mod. It says it allows tamed creatures following you to go through a portal with you. I think the skellies are considered tame creatures by the game. If so, it should do what you want.

Use Notepad to edit this mod's config file in the BepInEx config folder. See if it lets you edit that option.
The config file doesn't have a setting for it, already checked that.

Anyone know anything about the Valheim VRM mod. I can't seem to get it to work...
I have the latest GitHub version, and followed the video tutorial. I'm fairly certain it's installed correctly, but yeah...
If you haven't already done so, you could check your Player.log to see if it has any errors about the VRM mod.
LogOutput.log is the only log I could find, found in the BepInEx folder. It does have VRM errors showing. But I know very little about how this game works yet.
Depending on what the error says, it could be that the VRM mod isn't loading properly due to being out of date for the game version or incompatible with one or another of the other mods.
Oh, and there's a Player.log in with your worlds folder, too.

Well, I found it on Nexus and yeah that version is out of date. But saw a comment that led me to GitHub for it.
The errors seem to be shader related.
Nexus doesn't work well with Valheim. You'd be much better off using the r2modman mod manager from thunderstore.io
Server errors can be ignored for a server. Not so much for a game, although some can be ignored there, too. I think. They have to do with graphics capabilities. Are you running the game on Windows or Linux?
Run it vanilla to see if the mod is causing the shader errors.

I'm finding a different one on GH right now as well. It claims to be more up to date, investigating.
When you get some time, check out r2modman. It can save you a LOT of fuss and bother when you're dealing with multiple mods.

If the updated mod doesn't fix it, try the vanilla run to see which errors you can live with and which ones actually describe the problem.

They're purist, dislike mods for whatever reason.
Mods are not cheating in any capacity and games without modding don't live very long.
Those are the same people who get tired of the game after they complete it and move on to a new game. Mod users will play valheim 50 times and each will feel like a new experience.
"cheating" is really depending on what mods you install, mods that just hand you EasyLoot that turns the player into a god, or mods that are balanced, extend gameplay, or make it harder like cllc or jewelcrafting.

There's a difference between plantEasily and PlantEverything, the first one does not change the game logic and is a client-only mod and even a 'vanilla' server may have it. The other one changes the logic and may or may not be appropriate.
Some mods simply remove annoyance or let you see info like a clock, fermenter progress, ship speed, remove dust, trash bin, sorting, shorten animations etc.

Most mods have to be loaded both on the server and on the client unless specifically stated from what I have heard.
You can add the -logfile "...\path\Server.log" option to your start_headless_server.bat file to have your server create the log file at startup. Then you can look in that log file to find out why it isn't booting.

PlantEasily just ensures you don't waste seeds and keep your farms space efficient. If that's cheating then I don't want to play the right way.
Are you playing on solo game or server? Did your PlantEverything ever work or are you just now installing it for the first time?
You can check your log files to see if there are errors loading the mod that would tell you what the problem is.
The LogOutput.log file is in the BepInEx folder and the Player.log file is next to your worlds and worlds_local folders.

how do you find/tame the horses though
You feed them carrots or blueberries, IIRC. You have to find them in the meadows and drop a stack of feed around them while avoiding their attacks.
Then, get far enough away that they lose interest in attacking you but not so far that you can't see them and wait for them to start eating the stuff you dropped for them. Then slowly get a little closer but not so close they attack again.
I use a hosting website, so I've never really looked into how they work. Would it be this boot config?

It does not matter how old is a mod if the author is still active. A better indicator is how many modpacks - servers are using the mod in question.

In my experience, the archers aren't worth a crap for base defense. They don't even notice the raid until they get personally damaged. And even then they usually miss the targets.
I think the best base defense NPCs are the DvergerMages. You'll have to spawn them in manually. And fence them in as they tend to wander.

I had to uninstall packhorse. It was causing an issue where every time I died, my screen would go black like the loading screen, and I'd never respawn. (As I'm describing the issue, it sounds a lot like real life) anyway I would restart the game and I'd be back at my bed, or sometimes the last spot the game saved, with all my stuff.
Well I can't run devcommands with my current mods; and I installed the Terminal mod and it said those were "out of date" -- those were the only ones. I'm trying to figure out which mod is "failing" due to being out of date.

I've never had such an issue.
Yellow warnings are usually not a problem. Red errors are problems but not always.
ModAge just compares the preset date with the dates of the mods, nothing else.
TerminalChecker can be useful to find out about what's wrong.
I suggest that you post here the list of mods you're using, someone might know if there's any mod/s that don't work. Also I suggest that you join OdinPlus and ask the question there too.

Have a look at the zones_reset command in UpgradeWorld to restore entire zones. Or the vegetation_reset command to just restore certain plants or trees.
Do a search for "NPC" over at the thunderstore.io's Valheim community. You'll find a bunch there. Choose one or two that've been updated since Ashlands update.

my buddy uses nexus/vortex, and her mods wouldnt load. the game would start, but no mods would be present.
she was on a different pc though which may have been the issue, but in case it isnt id like to know
she would need to download the mods onto the other pc for them to work, but from what i've heard vortex doesn't play nicely with Valheim anyway, and we always recommend using the r2modman manager from Thunderstore.io

There are several mods that do that. But they are risky to use in a multi-player environment. Use them only on a world that's never going to see other players. Better to just give the building pieces infinite health so they don't fall down.

sounds like mods are being installed wrong, like you're manually installing them right to your games folder instead of using R2modman to create profiles for each of your servers.

You have 0 control over your mods if manually installing them, they are On or Off (adding the dll or deleteing the dll) in the bep folder.
With R2modman you can choose to launch with mods, or without them, you can load different profiles for different worlds/saves
You can easily install, remove, disable, or even share out your whole modlist and configs with friends at the push of a button.
- mod data or saved data is stored outside of your valheim folder, you can delete your game folder, have steam install it fresh, and still have all your saves/worlds. This should also keep all modded items/builds, if you install those same mods again before you start. (using r2modman or thunderstore mod manager)

If you wish, you can copy the current BepInEx config folder out some place and then use the mod configurations there after re-installing the same mods by simply copying their config files back in to the new BepInEx config folder. That way you don't lose any customizations you may have made and want to keep.

anyone know how to disable mod's logs inside console?
I wanted to type for "devcommands" as usual when I launched game with mods
but I am not able to since when i try to type it in console im getting spammed by info from mods actions
sounds like "errors" and the way to stop that is removing the mods causing them
like hiding the logs isnt the way to solve it

Sometimes TerminalChecker mod by Azu can help.
Usually I'd disable half of the mods and test it and after that repeat the same until I find out which mod/s are causing problems.
If you post here the list of mods you are using someone might be able to tell what's wrong.
I suppose there might be an issue with "MagicPlugin" mod and "MagicHeim" mod since both of them introduce magic and the second one adds classes for characters

I recommend that you remove these Equipmentandgquickslots, beacuse you have Azuextendedplayerinventory.
And pick one of the two: Trashitems, SimpleRecycling, does recycling have trash also?
There are better alternatives like QuckStackStoreSortTrash or DumpsterFire.
Multicraft may be replaced with Azu AAA, I don't know if that's the faulty one though.

Yo Azu! You mean infinity ammo config right? I have disabled it. The issue was, I can reload ballista bolt for once. So for the second time, it says that the ballista is already loaded even there are no bolts inside the ballista.

r2modman will include the mod's config files when you share your profile with friends.
The end result should be the same. However, the code is much quicker and easier to share. And easier for the player receiving it.

I'm not familiar with that mod. So can't be of much help. Just make sure the mod us up to date for the Ashlands release.
And, if not, replace it. Also, check your log files for any errors related to the mod. There's the LogOutPut.log file in the BepInEx folder for the server and for your game and Player.log alongside your game's worlds and worlds_local folders.
the strangest thing is that there are no errors visible in the console everything seems to run smoothly besides that feature...

The mod's config file would be in the server's (and in your game's) BepInEx > config folder.

Tha's good. But I believe that a few mods won't update their config files that way. So that even when you fix it in game, you still have to go to the mod's actual config file and set the right options there.

Ok so you can edit the config files directly and then you exit the game and restart.
I recommend to use some text editor like notepad++ and use ini highlighting.

Hey all. Hosting a new dedicated server, but haven't done one for nearly a year. Trying to remember the easiest way to install the mods. I know it was taking some file from R2Modman and dropping that in to my FTP but can't remember exactly which spot in R2Modman. Was it "Export as a file"?
I think it was probably going to Settings and 'Browsing the profile folder' in r2modman and copying the BepInEx > plugins folder up to the server.

Seems close to how I did it before, but this time it just made a whole new folder (second folder) for BepInEx and of course didn't work. I could just select all the actual plugins and drag them over and drop in to the plugins on server, but I think the main reason I did it different last time was some of the stuff needed in Config or other folders and it put everything in the correct spot automatically.
Gportal has changed their server files/directories up from the last time too though, that could be part of the problem.

May any1 know if there is a way to make clear distinction between items from each seperate mod in all crafting stations? For example I have mods like: "Magicheim", "Magicplugin", "Skyheim", "Jewelcrafting" and so on all these mods provide many new items to the game but it's insanely annoying to look at them in workstations without any order. Out of date mods are 'risky'. So it's up to you whether to remove and replace them. Or see if they actually still work or not. The older the mod, generally, the higher the risk that they're broken and gonna cause trouble.

If you have to ask that, it's pretty certain that you can't do it your self. You'd need to depend on the mod author to do it.

Well to be fair, I'm not experienced at all regarding modding this game. But in the past, fixing/updating mods has been a great way for me to get into modding a given game. So my question, for me at least, is quite poignant. I've been seeing to many great looking mods simply out of date. So I want to learn what needs to be done, so I can use them safely. Honestly, you should be encouraging modding new comers, not... this. That said, any actual guidance, or shall we continue this pointless banter?

When you've made a webhook it will show up under integration and you can click copy url.
When you click on "Copy the Webhook" button, it puts the webhook https;//...... address into your Windows clipboard. Then, you go to the AzuAnticheat config file where you will see a space for the webhook. Position your cursor in that space and do a Ctrl+V to paste the webhook address in there where it belongs.
You can remove mist and fog but not clouds.

I have idea of making some kind of castle base in mountain, but under this castle there will be lava for giant forge.
Something like Iron forge city in world of warcraft.
I think the find command worked all right but Haldor didn't exist in the game until you discover his location.
Optional: Copy your seed and drop it here, then travel to the location you want Haldor to spawn.

The Valheim world generator allows players to preview seeds and their map without needing to generate them in game. It also lets them find points of interest such as the trader, bosses, or crypts. Now supports Mistlands!
Works fine with both Haldor and Hildir.
You should be able to change these settings using the Valheim Plus mod
The ValhemPlus mod is broken and no longer supported. There is a newer fork of it at thunderstore.io it is the Grantapher. That one still works but can cause mod conflicts. A better option would be to select specific skill mods at thunderstore.
At this point no-one should reasonably be recommending ValheimPlus.

There was a mod that allowed you to reduce/disable the multiplayer mob scaling so that when playing with 5 people, the mobs wouldnt suddenly have like 4x the HP.
Overall I personally greatly dislike this HP scaling and would rather have a scaling through more mobs. I.e. 4x as many mobs vs 4x as much HP.
Does anyone know the name, or any good new mod that does this?

I really donโt know, Iโm surprised that the valheim plus version in thunderstorm has such a bad reputation, I tried it on 2 different devices and I only had a bug once where I couldnโt plant normal carrot seeds and wasnโt able to pick up automatically. But after deleted the grid mod from nexus and restarted my game everything was fine. All the other stuff works fine for me on both devices with some other quality of life mods and had no problems using Vplus. Played with it till late plains without any problems. But I guess if the mod causes much damage you really have to look for a alternative option.

I have an issue with tamed wolves that we left unattended out side our main base and now they have multiplied and kill everything that spawns within seconds. Honestly itโs great for most raids.
What I need is something to auto pick up all the loot on the ground in the area and put it into chests. An NPC that could do that would be fine or any other mod that does similar.

I'm thinking of starting up a modded server. What mod would you guys recommend for early game magic?
On a server it's ok to have up to 30ish IMO but on the client side you may have as many as your hardware can take. Simply because it can become a headache to maintain them. What to do if they stop working? A better way would be to prevent the server update and tell players to roll back the game version and keep it stable until all the critical mods update. Also every time you update a mod, you need to delete or move the old config, let it create a new one and edit it.
We usually run about 70 where most are very small changes, just depends on what they do and how large they are.
Is there an SDK for valheim? Oddly havent found much on how to make valheim mods

I do use plant build along side other mods and here is the option to immediately make ground flat but still with grass...
and also some mod to make weather always sunny or smt

env clear - makes weather sunny
tod 0,5 - makes time to be always noon

Be careful with Hightmap setting, because when you enable and after that disable the mod, it will bury what you've done. It's disabled by default.

Hi, I have a question about accessibility, and one of the moderators suggested I ask here.
My older son's dad (ex) would like to play Valheim with me and our adult son, however he has limited use of his hands as he is in the later stages of ALS. He would like to focus on the building aspect while the kid and I focus on gathering materials for him and doing all the fighting (however we might play with enemy aggro turned off or at least on very easy difficulty). He can no longer hold a controller or use a keyboard but can use a mouse. He's able to play games like Baldur's Gate that are turn-based and click-to-walk.
Has anyone had any experience playing the game with limited mobility? Are there any mods or anything else that people are aware of that might help him out in this regard?

Does he use speech recognition associability software? I have Dragon Speech Rec for work, but I do not use it for gaming, I do see it being able to be used for gaming though. Saying things like "press W" it will press W in the active application.
There are gaming mice that have many buttons, idk if that is also an option for them but keybinds can be changed in the game settings and mapped to a mouse with more buttons. As for mods, Server Dev Commands would let him configure it so he always has dev commands enabled, free build, and god mode.

You'll have to get the terrain below the water level to create a river. Infinity Hammer + Tools is a decent option to use the hoe at making a river, but the rules of getting terrain below water level still apply.
You can create custom bodies of water by snapping to objects and spawn vanilla water with Structure Tweaks.
How would that work, exactly. You'd have to snap water? Like it was an object? And you'd snap it to other objects?
What objects would you snap the water to? If the object you wanted to snap the water object to was too high, then the water would just run away down hill?

Nibel, your method to create a river is different than CookieMilk's, yes? So, you're saying you just dig a deep trench, deep enough to fill up with water, and call it a river, right? Sounds simple enough. ๐ค
Lots of digging for a decent river, but still doable, probably. You could dress up the trench then when you're done and make it all pretty. InfinityHammer and InfinityTools (using the Hoe for some of it) would let you do all that, right?
You point your cursor to a prefab, type command, repeat until you close the circle.

I'm not familiar with Cookie's method, never used Structure Tweaks before. But yea, I just use Infinity Hammer to clear land for waterways, cuts right through it. It only needs to be waist deep for a longship too.

That is a good workable, practical idea. Just might take a little work and patience. You do have to be a little careful to plot your river's course through relatively lowland areas, e.g. you probably don't want to be carving your way through a mountain.
Yea, I usually try to avoid cutting through mountains, if not only for aesthetics' sake. XD
Iโve ran through it and believe all of it is updated to the Ashlandโs version. I was able to play the game just fine, only hit crash occasionally. Probably because I am using around 90+ mods at the same time and some of the mods are not well compatible.
Check your log files for any errors that might explain the crashes. There's a log file in your BepInEx folder and another next to your worlds_local folder.
