I successfully dodged the enemies, but did not dodge my own meteor 💀

I gotta say, the summoning animation and sound of the troll/meteor is so cool tho... (eventho it kills me if I'm not careful)

Whenever I'm in my base, I always equip the staff of protection or the dead raiser. Just in case I misclick and cast something. 🤦‍♀️😅 I wouldn't want to cast fireballs in my own base. or trolls... 💀

Hello I am trying to fight the bonemass boss for the first time. Is it possible to lure it out of the swamp or will it despawn if it is lured away too far from the spawn point? Also if I run away due to too many enemies, will the boss still be there or will it despawn after some time?

Bosses never despawn, they just regen health.
Also unless you have a very lucky map, you have to fight him in swamp.

If you really don't want to deal with enemies, you can spawnproof the area before spawning him. Stops other mobs from interfering

Also also, he is a zero-damage fight.
3 very slow animations.
Raised hand = swipe, dodge roll into him.
Hand in armpit = adds spawn, run in the direction he is facing and one-shot them when they land.
Both hands on belly = poison vomit, just walk backwards until you're out of radius and wait for him to walk to you.

Quite a few things block spawns. Workbench blocks everything in that white radius around it.

Campfire is easier blocking in the same area, just doesn't show the outline

It does. It's a weapon that makes it more difficult for you to kill things because it punts them away from you instead of allowing the follow-up swing that would delete your enemy.

Your weapon should not work against you.
The fix is they make knockback a flat value on the weapon instead of having it scale with skill value.
But unless they change that, I will never recommend Frostner to anyone.

I prefer the knockback tbh, plenty of safer options, and you can always position a target against something solid for easier follow ups.

In the mountains packs of wolves are handily hit back and slowed for a more reliable combat pace in crowds.

Padded armor and blackmetal tower shield are 5th biome tier (plains) equipment while iron axe is 3rd biome tier (swamps). So you will have no problems in swamps with those.

As for practice their are practice dummys called TWIG you can build in game and practice blocking and attacking

But also nothing wrong asking here, but keep in mind that you might get spoiled about things then.

Also Hugin's previous advices are readable in compendium when you press tab (above the crafting menu).

If you feel cold, it's night, it's also much darker at night than day even in the swamp. I'm not aware of any brightness settings, but i haven't had any issues with seeing in the swamps.

Not 100% sure but it could be that the oldest saves with big terrain modifications before the fix didn't get as much improved.
I usually have around 10-15k instances in my end game base and I also have quite lot terrain modifications done, I have noticed better performance after the latest update.

From my understanding (I'm sure Blob can correct if wrong) damage buffs like vile gear, trinkets, yagluth power, etc. will multiply together for an even higher benefit.

Weaknesses and resistances work very differently as mentioned above though, it just picks the best one and ignores the rest. So if you have vile set (+25% physical damage taken) and bonemass (-25% physical damage taken), you will completely ignore vile set weakness and still get benefit of bonemass, AKA you take 75% of the damage you usually would

Does anyone know if there is a way to improve FPS at all, any obvious thing that I am not aware of?

I am on a server and hosting it, with multiple friends, we have a wide range of computer strengths, but from worst to best, the FPS gets awful when the base is sufficiently big enough.

I have done a lot of research, and it appears this is not a computer issue, but a Valheim problem itself. Further testing seems to confirm this entirely.

Is there any, relatively well known fixes to the FPS drops caused by a large base?
We are up to 10K instances in our base, for context, and it is a little disheartening that we are forced to essentially have a small base due to a technical issue that seems entirely localized to Valheim's system.

Did something happen to the carrot seeds? I haven't played for about 6 months and now I can't find carrot seeds in any of my chests although I've been farming plenty of carrots before. If you care only for meat - just killing them, meat floats.
If you want other drops - harpoon helps dragging them on shore where you and other enemy mobs can kill it easily.
One way is also timing your jump on water and last shot so you end up looting the drops before they sink. This takes some practice.

its about dmg: when you parry an enemy staff of fracturing often does way more dmg then ember staff, i suspect it is because it fractures and the various small hits gets the dmg moltiplied by the stagger debuff

a mace definitely! just make a bit of poison risitance mead and ferment it in the fermenter. personally i dont like houses in the swamp bc of the darkness monsters and rain. if you want to i do reccoment building it in a big tree (the indestructuble ones)

I think the Hunted raid specifically times out when you're not in the circle, just due to the different conditions of how it triggers out in the wilderness. Game doesn't expect you to stay in one place for the duration of an entire raid while travelling.

But for all the others happening at one of your "bases", they require you inside the circle for the time to tick

Hey all.

Unique issuer here, running a heavily modded server.

One of our users suddenly has a very strange issue, where if they connect to the server, after about 10 seconds they lag out and freeze.

If they disconnect and rejoin, it just starts making copies of their character, running spot, floating, etc.

They can then run around the server and do things, but they are entirely invisible.

I have no idea how to remedy this.

I have added their log if any smart people fancy trying to fathom what could be doing it.

It is also spamming.

Iron Pickaxe is the highest priority cause it's more durable and lets you break Mountain metals if you're feeling bold. Everything else is personal preference.
-If you're low on storage space, you can make a few reinforced chests to replace your normal ones
-If you do a lot of fighting, you can upgrade your weapons to Iron ones (you don't need Iron armor)
-If you have a lot of other materials, you can start upgrading your Forge level and then upgrade your current gear
There's no single best priority unless you're interested in boss prep. His weakness is ||blunt (club) damage so you'd make an Iron Mace|| to kill him a little more easily.

You don't need the full armour set to use the paw weapons

Paw weapons are just fist weapon type, you can use them freely with any armor.

Reopening this problem, as it seems to have NOTHING to do with any mods, there is some form of handshake error occuring it seems, a sync issue.

If anyone fancies trying to work it out I would appreciate it, four hours in, and still at a loss for what is causing it.

Idk nothing about nothing, but if they're having a disconnect issue or something like that, maybe they have some VPN they've started using or their firewall decided to block something. You might have a search through the channel for some issue like that, maybe something will spark a result.

It is odd, they ran to the portal room, and about five minutes later their character moved there.

But they can see everything else running in real time, it is like one sided lag.

The affected user seems to having an issue where the "sent" on the ZDO pool is entirely empty, and the second line of the ZDO pool is entirely mad.

What on earth could be causing this?

Stockpiled a bunch of those things for the future. 2-stars are great for breeding en masse. I release them here and there as giant hulking guard lizards, and damn, do they go to work.
