I haven’t tried it or done it but my first try would be in thr Keybinds settings. I know I have successfully re-mapped autowalk and secondary attack.. not sure if you can re-map the toolbar to other keys besides 1-8

In the game options (when the game is launched), there are no options available for the toolbar keys. I don't know if I can do anything in the game files, I don't know how to use this type of file :/

If it’s not an option in-game and you don’t want to do mods.. another idea would be a software that re-maps your keyboard keys. You might already have the ability if you use a Razer keyboard with Synapse… youd just need to remember to disable it when you logoff valheim

Get best food you can, dont be afraid of melee combat, that will significantly reduce the fight time, upgrade all you armor and weapons as much as you can, make a pillar using raise ground feature of hoe so you can cover before her ice shots, draugr fang bow will be best for when she is flying and pair that with obsidian or better arrows.

the boss itself is fine but there's always enemies at the same time.. I have 2 golems who stick together.. I can easily beat them 1 by one but with 2 I can't parry them the other one just hit me after and I have to keep running from moder as I do this, also pack of wolves keep showing up and drakes.. it just seems by the time I get rid of the enemies more come and I don't make progress

Dig a hole around where they spawn and push both of them in the holes. That will prevent more from spawning in that area and they cant get you from there. Drakes and wolfs should be 2-3 shots each so prioritize quickly getting rid of them immediately as they show up.

I sometimes use temporary supports. And then once the opposite roof pieces touch each other and support each other, you can remove the temporary supports

Be sure you have frost resistance. Decent armor defense.. and try to get as much melee damage done as you can while she’s on the ground phase

I’m having trouble connecting to a private Valheim server. The server itself is running fine since my friends are currently connected, but when I add it, I see a red “X” next to the server name, and when I try to join, I get a “Failed to connect” message.

I’m using the Microsoft Store version of Valheim (so I can also play it on Xbox). Could this version have different connection steps compared to the Steam version?

What are the steps I should follow to validate that everything is properly set up on my side (network, Microsoft Store/Xbox settings, etc.) so I can join?

Valheim might have low textures or pixels on certain things.. but its lighting is very advanced and very demanding. Reflections etc also. The lighting of the game is demanding

It appears to be a bit below minimum recommendations, but you can always add cooling to your system. Even just a normal fan outside your PC blowing more air through it can be a big help.

I have explored the entire Ashlands and am now wondering if theres any way to get more gemstones besides from the forts the insane Flametal to gem ratio is absurd

just fortresses. there should be two chests outside the inner pillar, and then another chest inside the middle pillar. they all have chances of gemstones. careful the outer ones dont break during the sacking of the fortress. dont forget to go inside the middle. it's RNG and sometimes youll get more gemstones than others

the Ashlands are also way bigger than I expected. there might be more islands left and right with more fortresses. have you done Lord Reto? that showed me a couple extra islands that I was unaware of

it's a setting you can toggle in the "world settings" if you want to

mostly the portal of items, such as metals and others are so you will use the boat and explore more of the game that way

instead of just portaling all over the place and potentially miss a few things here and there

If you GPU is running at 70-80 then you have great ventilation.
Old AMD GPU, and some new ones have overheating problems in Valheim, because Valheim often uses 100% of the GPU.

I was wondering if someone here could maybe help me with a problem I have on a 4Netplayers server I am hosting. I am looking to activate **devcommands **for myself on the server which I have done before while hosting the world from my pc, so am somewhat familiar with to begin with. I have made myself admin (which I can tell by the ability to ban / unban players) and CAN activate devcommands, but none of the devcommands I know exist when I enter them (for example: |"freefly" is not valid in the current context|).

I will appreciate any help I can get and a thousand thanks in advance!

Can charred fortresses open without player involvement? I was working my way around the side of one then allll of the skeletons spilled out at once. If I didnt know better I'd say they came out of the gate, but I cant get around there to say for sure. I havent used a catapult or battering ram.

It spawns skeletons every few seconds until its broken, no they are not guaranteed but you rarely find a burial chanber without them, sometimes they are, i dont think its always tho.

so as long as you haven't fully discovered your entire map. that location will load in

it's not a gamebreaking location if you don't have it in your world. it's just a cool thing to look at if you have it 😄

Hello! Sorry if this is answered already. I’ve searched through the discord and can’t seem to find anything related. I use dathost to host a dedicated server for my group. We’re newish (4 months) to the game and haven’t experienced an update yet. I have the option to update our server to the public test, but I don’t know if doing so will wipe our server. We don’t want to do that yet, we’re about to fight yag for the first time. Anybody smarter than I have some insight?

Both Ember and Frost staff work well, Ember is better for groups of enemies due to AoE and high blunt damage. Frost staff is great against wet enemies.
Staff of Protection is BiS for defence. Dead raiser can be used as summon skeletts to distract enemies but they are not the best for defeating enemies really.

You can get materials rather quickly for new staff similar to Ember staff when you land to Ashlands, which is very cheap, but comparing to Ember staff it has poor AoE but it's very effective against bigger targets. And of course other staves later when you progress far enough.

Those keep going on even while you go to different area or inside dungeons.

Crops keep growing and mead bases fermenting too, they take around 2 ingame days and all of those can be fastened by sleeping till next day.

All those things keep processing, no matter where you are in game. Breeding live stock is the only exception I can think of right now. You have to be near by for that.

If you have access to the plains, you can sit on the edge of the biome and bait deathsquitos into attacking you, that will give you an arrow that hits harder

Dont land in the plains at the moment though, the fulings will end you

Hello, I have a problem. I want to transfer my local Valheim world to another PC. I copied the files from the worlds_local folder and pasted them into the same folder on the other PC. I should have the world on the new PC, but it doesn't appear. I transferred the three world files I have on the old PC. I should also mention that I bought it on Steam. Does anyone know why the world doesn't appear, or can anyone help me? I should also mention that it's a world that several people play, but the server opens and closes. It's not dedicated. It's another Steam account, but I don't know how that could affect it, and I have Steam Cloud enabled.

Can you look into the worlds_local folder of the first pc? The one which already has the world you want to transfer. There should be 2 files with the name of the world as their name and they end in .db and .fwl. If they are not there then you have to transfer the saves from cloud to local in game in "manage saves" menu.

Every 46 minutes an event can be triggered by 20% chance if meeting conditions: proper biome, near 3 base structures and not in dungeon.
Wolf raid is the only raid that doesn't require base structures nearby tho, but it happens only in mountains or plains.

It's supported by some different pieces which is why it doesn't collapse. You can try digging as deep as possible around the tower so the walls lose their support below. Seemingly you destroyed the arc around the gate, which is another support. Then if it doesn't fully collapse, try destroy the pillar pieces at the peak of tower, they are the last supports.

youre describing a normal cave actually. the golem part is a rare cave occurrence and the move set for it might have looked new if you hadnt meet them before. there are 2 types of golem with slightly different move set. Hildir caves stand out already from entrance, you wont miss it.

Damage to the staff of protection shield doesnt bleed through to your health right?
So if you had 1 hp on your shield and got hit by a 100 hp attack, the shield would burst but you wouldnt take any damage just from that

Yep, even if the attack did 1000000 dmg it would stop it before doing any dmg to you

i thought i understood parrying but apparently not? Does anyone know what determines how long an enemy is stunned/staggered on successful parry? Was fighting golems on the mountain and when my friend parried it the golem would be stunned for maybe a second or 2 but when i parried it with my shield it was stunned for 4-5 seconds?

Golems can be stagegred for the longer interval only on 1 specific attack they do
(Each variant has 1 attack like that)

so that was a golem specific thing? my friend just so happened to get the weak parry and i was getting the one that staggered for longer

Yes, unless it's tameable mob and the taming process has started before dawn.

That's the information I was looking for. So as long as I start taming a 2-star wolf before dawn it will not despawn, got it.

Now for the easy part: find a 2-star wolf ....

Correct. Or any starred wolf, as they only can spawn with stars at night.

2 star is rarer. Each mob (that can have stars) have 10% chance to spawn with star, and additional 10% to have another, so in short, it's 1% chance to spawn with 2 stars.
