Graves don’t despawn

If you quit the game immediately after dying the grave might not save. You can load a character backup with the manage saves button on character select if this happens.

They resist pierce and are weak to blunt. A club or upgraded flint axe will work well. Make sure you’re using your shield

hello, i am building a new house with my friend in build mode and we were wondering is there a way to give him god mode and fly command? i saw some reddit posts about a mod i think the name as sredux something like that to use cheats in multiplayer for everyone, but the modded seems to be abandoned and it's not working there is any other mod or command that we can use so we can both use the cheats?

Depends on how many you want, there is a population restriction for every 10 square meters there can be an x amount of chickens.

I just keep them in with a 1 meter wall, that way many of them are able to get out and the remaining ones keep breeding. It's the least effort way of breeding them constantly. You will just have to harvest all the chicken wandering around the compound every now and then because they become obnoxious

if you want to breed and create more hens, make sure they have a fire nearby but also make sure they can't get into the fire.

my last chicken farm i just put over the fire of the elder altar (which is where my base was). The breeding tower is on the roof directly above it so they drop straight down.

What are some good ways to train the block skill? i've got the bone tower shield in the bronze age and we're scouting a swamp early. draugr and leeches already destroy my block so i wanna boost it.

Get in the habit of letting the enemy attack you, parry it (as it gives more block xp and it also gives you experience parrying) and the block skill will keep rising slowly but surely

It's also the most efficient way to take out ennemies

Burial chambers you can easily make sure you have the right amount of skeletons you can block without losing stamina, have something hold the right click mouse button and leave for 15 minutes

Parries give more xp, but you have to wait for enemy to recover from stagger so i would say both parrying and static blocking are around the same in efficiency of training the skill

It's just that I value parrying skills, dodging skill, movement and fighting skills over the skills levels in game. As a player confident with parrying and dodging with level 1 in everything will just do better than someone who struggle with combat overall but is level 100 in everything

That's the thing, there's things at each stages of the game that you cannot just tank, but you can parry, allowing you and other do do twice the damage other than just getting crushed trying to block

Most people prefer the troll armor over the bronze, as the very small amount of bonus armor you get with upgraded bronze armor doesn't make up for the movement speed penalty and saves you hours on getting bronze

you can just press and hold the button. It's a little slower than rapid tapping but i wouldn't call it slow.

so question about world generation: lets say you have a world completed up to and including mistlands in the build before ashlands dropped, but havent been to the ashlands or deep north yet. is the map for them already pre generated and can cause issues with generating structures after the actual content was/will be added?

New content generates in unexplored areas

With the ashlands update there was some major changes to land generating around the north and south portions of the map, land that was previously there is now sunken under the ocean. So if you built something near those areas, then you may have issues, otherwise you should be fine. Also undiscovered POI locations can change as well in major updates.

well the owner of the server wants to make a new world for deep north because hes afraid that there will be issues with world generation after the new content drops because - and i quote - he has seen weird stuff on youtube. apparently mistlands generated weirdly in pre existing worlds where trees, roots and stuff were like floating in the air

Once you're in Ashlands, you'll wanna find Molten Cores (putrid holes/caves are the easiest way to get em). Then you can make stone portals and port metals

I brought enough mats to make a bench a stone cutter and a portal, smashed some ashlands rock spires and made a small portal base on some spires just off shore.

bring a hoe and a few stacks of stone so you can raise a terrain wall to secure your portal outpost. Then you can sail your ship back out to safer waters and use the portal to get to ashlands and back.

Meh, just land, build a portal, defend it, run along the coast, put another portal somewhere and then just start exploring from either portal and you will always have a backup portal unrendered

Doing this you won't be wasting any time, I recommend putrid holes and the churches with vineberries as location to leave portals at. Doing so you will have multiple portals up within an hour with access to stone portals and from there you can start making your way in land and start mining flametal

Their attacks are slow and aren't as hard hitting as you may expect, so you should be able to parry it. You can try to bait and dodge a few attacks to learn their animations

They’re easy to kill, look at their attack pattern, dodge attack, rinse n repeat

The swamp is where you will have to learn to manage the stamina, especially since you always have the wet debuff

Never go in swamps at night or when unrested. If you are rested the wet debuff is almost negligible

Clicking on each world/character will expand it to a list of all the various backups saved under that world/character, just click Remove on each one you want to remove

There is a setting to set fire to things even stone, there is no way to stop a fire arrow fired inside a shield gen or without a shield gen

If you’re trying to figure if it’s possible I’d say it’s not with how players can jump around to even get around shield gen

wards prevent people from digging if they're not registered to it but they can be destroyed. You can bury them underground to make that harder but not impossible.
Though i suppose you could make an indestructible base under the Elder altar if you place wards inside it and make it only reachable by portal.

It seems there are Grausten "pieces" down deep under the Ashlands ruins that are unreachable by pickaxe but blob explosion breaks them. And sometimes those rocks/cliffs also are large enough to partially be buried under ground.

So good way to collect lots of Grausten is to lure blob explode on/inside ruins.

usually your best bet entering any new biome first time is the max state foods from the last biome--depending upon preference (until later when magic is a third option), I'd say either a 'health leaning' with 2 best health the bets stamina, or 'stamina leaning' the other way (2 best stamina, and best health)

Definitely, you are not very far in the game, it would be a good refresher to start over and you should reach that point pretty fast. The main reason why you should not keep playing that map is that is prior the mistlands update so if you reach that part of the game you will have an awful time

i imagine it will be a lot like what would happen if you loaded a minecraft world years back, then loaded it back up after a few years--you'll get biomes and stuff, different looking terrain entirely even, on the same seed same place, as you would have had you gone into them earlier

because the seed is constant, and already generated stuff doesn't change, but further out the terrain only 'generates' first time when you get close enough, using whatever algorithm for generation is current at THAT time (getting close enough) NOT world start

otherwise, wouldn't every world except those started in Ashlands PTB or post Ashlands full release have the connected ashlands instead of the separated island chain ashlands?

Yeah people who built there came back to everything just floating, but for the mistlands it was different. The pre mistlands worlds just had less mistlands on the map and the new versions of the map don't add more. That's why they heavily recommended new maps back then. I didn't do that and the mistlands were indeed awful even if nothing had been explored

i would probs restart out of an abundance of precaution--you don't HAVE to delete the old world if you have any builds you're particularly attached to, and if you like the terrain a lot just reuse the seed and probs near spawn should be mostly identical

if it's the early grind, i recommend either resist temptation to build every armor and weapon (that will save need for a lot of iron & bronze, the early heavy armors just aren't worth it IMO relative to cost and the alternative cost:value proposition of light armor, esp. with a good shield and if it's not your first time so you have some idea how to play)

and/or consider upping resource drop rate in world modifiers until you reach wherever you feel comfortable/wherever you were before, then turning it back to "regular", to accelerate early game

He can load an automatic backup with the manage saves button on the main menu.

You could also check the area around the dungeon entrance. Dungeons are located above the world, so the grave could've fallen down

Iron mace is best for the swamp biome boss.

put your time into practice timing of parry or dodge roll. getting the timing down will reduce the amount of copper you have to mine cuz you can skip armor... or at least skip some of it

• Like I have seen videos that say enemies won't attack many floor/stair objects, even if they are directly blocking their path (though they may damage them in-inadvertently). Are there build structures I can use to make paths/highways that I don't have to guard from enemy attacks?
• I also understand through observation they seem to prioritise workstations in lieu of direct player presence, are there other structures that may be used as lures or I must prioritize protecting when not directly in an area?
• If nothing else, does anyone specifically know if signs can be used to block enemy movement in say a ||Sunken Crypt Dungeon|| such that the enemies won't try to break it?

They won't attack those objects as long as they're not aggroed on something behind it.
As a general rule of thumb enemies attack pretty much every crafting station and light source except for campfires, bonfires, braziers and wisp torches on sight.
As for your third questions afaik signs don't block LoS so they'll still aggro on you and destroy the signs trying to get to you.

Serpents are balanced to be killed with Black Forest equipment. If you aren’t ready to kill them, you aren’t ready to fight the elder.

They only spawn at night or in rain so you can avoid sailing at those times

Nidhogg is the step up from the previous biomes weapon, has the same mechanic to make the others, mine stuff gather stuff and craft it.

There are runestones in the meadows that some boars will spawn around, you might get lucky around one of those within 800m of spawn, otherwise more than 800m from spawn you can find them randomly around if you search for a bit or get lucky. I would suggest taming them where you find them, unless it's a dangerous place, and making a little shack and stakewalled area.

flame geysers spawn surtlings the moment the player gets in range and have a cooldown of 5 minutes iirc, so portal chaining works for those.
Tar pits are similar but only spawn 1 blob per attempt instead of multiple like fire geysers so it's much slower.

Greydwarf spawners only spawn one enemy every 20 seconds while a player is within 60m, so portal chaining a few of them together offers no benefit over simply afking next to one.

In all seriousness, bee hives are RNG hell. Some worlds you'll get a dozen before you kill Elder, others you'll be struggling until Plains.

All I can suggest is make sure you investigate all of those ruined huts in the meadows as much as possible.

There's usually Black Forest or Meadows next to swamps. Land there and slap down a portal. Side-note: lol at the Normandy reference as that's what my group called our Ashlands landing (the launch point we built for the group was named Portsmouth)

We had a full server doing it and someone was smart and raised an earth wall and made a portal. Never a full party wipe, but 1-3 of us went down every 5 minutes for about an hour or so 🤣

hey so i just started playng valheim and dk what to do. how do i unlock more stuff to craft. so far i can only craft the stone axe, club and torch and yea idrk what to do. i dont think i can fight the boss yet with the bad gear i got

Find flint on the shore! Also maybe make a crude bow or a flint spear and also have you gotten deer hide and leather scraps yet they are important

If lucky sometimes you can also find a wrecked boat on the shore which you can axe with your stone or flint axe

I mean i guess a general point to make is you don't just get recipes, Without getting certain things, Because items unlock recipes in the first place, If it feels like you've not discovered everything in a biome then keep looking.

If you beach your boat and jump out on shore, the serpent will usually leave it alone. Worst case you can collect the mats and build a new boat once its dead

that's assuming the serpent was unable to bite the boat on the way to the shore.
they lose interest if they don't get to attack for a while, and their pathfinding sometimes makes that difficult for them if they're directly behind a boat even if it's going at very slow speeds.
if it's still attacking the boat by the time you reach the shore, it won't leave by boredom since its target isn't moving, which makes the serpent an easy target for a shallows kill, where you can grab the scales by simply jumping into the water.

You need to make the walls of the hole a bit further from the silver 🙂 when they are too close they provide support to the deposit and it will not break
