Finally got serpent shield today. Spend several days sailing in ocean in waiting for storm and find serpent, then spend 100+ stone to get last 8th piece from deep water in swamp.

I'm stingy and don't eat food unless I'm using a lot of stamina or in combat. I only made a cauldron and started planting seeds after I'd already been to the swamp and someone told me to try it, so I'm quite food poor.

Gotcha... yeah. The game gets a LOT easier if you focus on food. It's worth every minute you spend working on it. Unlike most survival games, food is an actual mechanic, you can't starve in Valheim, but you will die if you have substandard food.

Any distance, it does hurt more as you fall further, but at some distance when it would do over 100 damage it will only do 100 max. I don't know the actual distance, though.

Multiple falls will do more damage, so if you hit a rock and take 100 damage and then fall again you're going to take more damage.

Food is the biggest upgrade you can get and worth going for first whenever you enter a new biome. Black forest? Screw troll armor and bronze weapons, cauldron first. Swamp? You shouldn't even set foot into a crypt until you've found some turnip seeds and build a spice rack.
It makes the game A LOT easier.

And to add on what Aspecter said, if the eye is thin, it means the enemies aren't able to perceive you while in their range of notice. Not sure if the full eye makes any difference, but I imagine it is that enemies are looking directly in your direction, but haven't quite been alerted to your presence.

The path itself offers no benefits, but changing the shape of the terrain to make it more beneficial for your carts has massive benefits, allowing you to get to higher location with more weight. if there is a steep hill, make it less steep by digging out some where your road would be and raise the ground a bit at the end of the slope (and use flatten tool to make it even, better for cart)

Yes, but that's the infested citadel. Haven't had any respawns yet. Some leftover seeker brood were lured out once the first chickens hatched though so i had to do an extermination run before starting over.

Yes. I tested it after building the floor above the room and no smoke issues. All the smoke gets funneled outside

if going with that design highly recommend adding something to funnel the smoke, might not work without something like that

I used roof tiles to to redirct it towards that side of the roof and walls to prevent smoke from spreading into the room unless too much of it gathers there, but doesn't because the hole lets the smoke out

So it ends up collecting there... if you put some roof pieces inside that are slanted outwards it will direct the smoke out instead of it collecting underneath and filling the top like that.

You might also try some angled beams, the smoke "particles" are 1m in size I think so anything that prevents them from going all the way up and collecting at the peak will help

Sometimes you get lucky and get a spawn where they easily die to the water right after they spawn and start moving around. Easy core farm.

You can just lower the ground with the hoe or pickaxe until they spawn in water. You can even put flooring in if you want to get fancy, as long as it's covered by a thin layer of water.

You need to put the portal far enough away so it doesn't block the spawns, but otherwise there's pretty much no way to mess up. And if you do it's easily fixed.

Yeah, you want a thin layer only. Though you can just use a hoe to raise the ground if necessary or you dug too deep. Afaik there is no way to permanently destroy spawns by accident.

I just remember lowering the ground and then seeing that no more surtlings were spawning. So I guess I must have lowered the ground too much without realizing that doing so would prevent them from spawning at all. I've noticed that its the same way for other mobs in the game when you lower the ground enough to make a river wider or something like that.

Side note: not the first time I've defeated Queen. I've defeated her a couple times before with buddies. But this was a solo run and I can honestly say for one thing. Shes alot easier solo. I didn't take one large health mead. As I still have the whole stack with me.

Partly because Popping Bonemass and wearing the root harnesk trivializes her. The good majority of her attacks deal pierce damage. I was most vulnerable after Bonemass ran out. Even than at that point I had to run back and fix my staves.

Tldr: queen dead, using oot harnesk w/Bonemass trivializes bossfight.

2 ways:

1. <color=NameOfColor>SignText
2. <#d1d1d1>SignText

For first option, just replace NameOfColor with some basic color names such as red, blue, green, white ect. and SignText is just whatever text you wish to write. When you write <color=red> this text will disappear, when you write text it will be of that color you selected.

For 2nd option it's mostly same, but you're using hex color code instead, googling "color picker" gives you a google version of a color picker and it works fine, just copy paste the code within those < > (such as #d1d1d1) and then write your text

You can see how deep it goes counting the main pillar, it is around 7 meters of useable space, the stone floor takes some room out of it but looks too nice to not use it. it was, i dont remember exact mechanic. But after some long time 2 pieces in some range will lose durability to half or smth. It was a very strange mechanic, sometimes you would just walk by ur build and some parts crack ;D I think the same decay mechanic applies to all structures in map, and if you fast forward time allot buildings would look trashed (atleast in discovered locations) butim not sure about this. But there was this mechanic for sure.

What you are describing is certainly still in the game 😄 it has to do with rain and water dmg, when build pieces are not protected by roof or if they are too close to water level and waves can reach them they indeed get damaged untill they are at 50% health, thus making them look tarnished/green. However there isn´t and never was any mechanic that causes dmg purely by passage of time 🙂

The old Mistlands was so atmospheric. Even empty it was the scariest biome by far. I remember a deathsquito from an adjacent plain made me jump right out of my seat once haha. I wish they had kept a little more of the OG design when Mistlands came out.

I remember my brother and I had a theory back when the game first came out that the ground would be too dangerous to walk in the Mistlands and so that's why the tree's where so big and close to each other... It was so you would have to build a whole Ewok village to traverse it. Floor is lava but with Giant spiders instead lol.

Still happy with what we got but seeing both biomes together made me nostalgic. 🥲

Me and my friends started a game where the map is disabled and today i spent time on mapping out our starting location (the very green is the flat grass parts in meadows, the dull green is the meadows forest, dark green is black forest, and the white greyish is the mountains & the dark grey is unexplored land) i think i did a pretty good job of mapping it out and i thought it would be a fun idea to ask you all what to name the island

Going back into the Old Mistlands is actually a good idea for farming ingredients. Since Seekers and Hare will still spawn. so youll be able see them without all the mist in the area

if ur wearing the root harnesk. that trivilizes the Queens fight. almost all her physical attacks deal pierce damage which is nullified by the Roots resistances. Want an extra challenge dont wear the harnesk

I got a better one for you, want an extra challenge, don't wear armor and dont bring weapons. Didn't even need bone mass. Root harnesk didn't even make a difference since she couldn't hit me on the first place. She couldnt even reach me. Shed climb halfway up, I'd set her on fire and bow spam, shed spew slime, jump the gap from directly across me from, fall all the way to the bottom, and repeat. She only finally managed to reach me at the last 1/4 of her hp

Public Test for Mistlands she was actaually pain. We where capped to level 2 Mistlands gear. And she was brutal with the seeker spawns. Mage was the better option for me because I could just run around the room at the time. However trying to melee her was really diff. She also was spawning at the entrance in most cases and instantly on you. I agree however she is much easier now in this version.

we were capped at lvl 2 Mistland gear until Hildirs Request came out with the new upgrades for the Black Forge and Gakdr Table. So even official launch for Mistlands she was pain

I mean it's a difference of 5 armor points. I don't think she was able to hit me more than a few times. Plus I didn't even use my bonemass

Most annoying part was the nonstop brood spawning, so I just fireballed them. I think an iron sledge would've worked better than the demolisher

about crossbows and zooming, i wanna add a one question, why do our character do not using the "butt" of crossbow, it will be fine, after getting a level 50(for example) of crossbow talents, our character will start using a crossbow correctly and shoot more accurately, i posted this sugguestion here bcz i cannot sent screenshots on sugguestion channel 🙃

im not trying to tell "this is not realistic", this is a fantasy game, so why not add an aiming from butt, by pressing the middle button of mouse for example, then ur character causes to move slow but it increase the point shoot. At my opinion, this will not ruin the game.

the problem i found, is, when u shooting the crossbow, ur projectile comes out accuratly from the middle of crossbow, and when u are aiming to the enemy that is near u, by ussing crosshair, u can accidentally miss due to inaccurate aiming of crosshair

so in few words, sometimes crosshair does not match were projectile shoots

Either way. I kinda just play the test builds and move on after 200 hours until the next test build. Something changed, it wasn't as hard as a boss fight as when it first came out. @rose pilot just use frostner for everything lmao. I don't but I know someone who swears by it. I'm addicted to the OG fire staff tbh.

Frostners good for swamp if you get it early and most sensible people start with and main clubs. A lot of fosters usefulness comes from that skill level + low stam usage + extreme effectiveness against undead and relatively high damage against seekers (because frost), but porcupine is the way to go for plains and staggering. I just leveled swords to max for mistlands because I wanted to try it out

Yeah I usually make a porcupine. But my friends love clubs so I give it away lol. I've had five friends play valheim for the first time and only ask for clubs. It has a lot to do with the first weapon being one I think but oh well. That's why I'm the hybrid mage/ so everything building wise guy. Let them run around the world of valheim with my creations 😂

i understand, but at meelee distance, u cannot correctly aim at enemy and u need to note that inaccuracy, so zoom can fix that problem

yeah the Refinery will damage anything except Black marble and Iron grates. Best to build a Black Marble Box around it with a slot open for the Tissue on the top. You can pretty it up afterwards

That was my first raid (besides wolves) and it also happened in the mists. I didn't realize it was a raid because the seekers destroyed them before I noticed because it was night and I wasn't about to take on a raid in the mists.

i would just create new seed and practice in there, and then play normal in your main seed. There is spawn item lists and there is even pictures for rocks. Smaller rocks(coper deposit/rock deposit sized) have a few more vertical pieces in the middle, and these bastards make these little holes at the top 😐 I also map out rock formations on the map first to avoid hitting edges as much as possible. And if you find good rock formation in the mountains biome you can make huge caves, ill ad a shoot. You can also copy you save files to have back up if needed (tho i usually don't bother, and regret later) 😄
