Look for old rundown looking cabins, that's usually the best bet to find a few onion seeds

Best way is to use both hoe and pickaxe. Some terrain can't be leveled for some reason.

The idea is to use as few instances as possible, so there's no need to make it perfectly flat unless you need to. IMO. If there's some little bumps here and there i don't bother with them. There's typically going to be flooring or something covering it anyways.

Yes, effort level: questioning my sanity. Actually, I have been letting the lay of the land inform the shape of my build in more recent times. Makes for an interesting challenge.

I like to keep terraforming to a minimum, but do use it where necessary, mainly for defence. Not building a permanent base without making it inaccessible to anything that walks, crawls or jumps.

The challenge is to find good locations where that can be done with as little terraforming as possible..

Two rocks in plains spawned across the river. I am making two huge towers around them with a bridge in between. It takes a loooong time to compute the exact diameter, position of the towers, plus I wanted to have the bridge in the middle of each tower. I have raised walls but also openings to my breeding pits. My buildings are all on a layer above that. I used to have a forest near the base but my Lox army denuded it 🤷 The maximum height of the raised walls varies with the terrain so that is what influences my build layout

But after making a sundial compass i realized that the sacrificial stone area is literally a compass i checked on 3 of my other worlds with maps and that point is always facing north (my original north was off by 2m in my dial)

When you find a boss vegvisir, even in a dungeon, and interact with it, your character will slowly turn in the direction of said boss (if not touching your mouse actively). But if you're in a dungeon your directions are mixed up, so all you need is to align some building piece (i usually go with adze) to the direction of the boss, thus even after leaving the dungeon the adze will always show you the real direction towards it.

More tip to get that perfect angle shot in the game. First turn on devcommands. Then hit F5 and type freefly
Or even better, set it up so you can do it with the pause key by entering these two commands: bind pause timescale 0 and bind pause freefly
Then whenever you hit pause, you can move the camera around freely while the game is paused. To turn it off, just type freefly again, or press Pause followed by Esc twice

yep, you can find these with an item you get from killing bonemass, but crypts are much better source

got a bloody nose mining cuz it attracts 3 dragur, 2 ax and shield draugur with 1 having 1 star, one archer, and then 2 skellies. They prolly heard me mining.

i did emerge victorious but i lost its location :/ it still has some tiny vein of iron scraps left, but at least i found 9 turnip seeds while trying to refind it. I was gonna go home with the haul and realize the scrap iron is not letting me use portal.

They're pretty rare, but you can find them easily with the prize from beating the 3rd boss in the swamps. But by then you won't really need those.

Getting early iron lets you access stone buildings a bit sooner, so that's nice 😉 With those weapons you should be able to handle a few Draugr, though (the starred one is a bit much, though)

So you'll need to find new ones, once you have carrots you can replant those to make seed carrots and get new seeds that way, to keep the planting going.

Yeah id say its about Iron tier since, even if you can spawn it in. you cant upgrade it so its forever level 1. But its weird that it even has a recipe to be forged but its console command only. I was hoping it would be forgable once ashlands came out, but with the terrain changes i havent seen any Flametal ore deposits in the Walk a& Talks. But that could also be they're actively not showing flametal ore right now since it most likely spawn differently

You are very close to the swamp. You see mobs from surrounding biomes around the edges all the time. They chase mobs and fight each other. The noise from your mining probably attracted it to you, which is why it is as far in the Black Forest as it is.

Construction of the "Road of Pain" 3 years ago. Goes from the shore to base in the middle of island, idea at time was to have everything in one place, smelters, farm, kitchen, storage etc, so I needed some means to deliver ore from swamps and plains to smelters. It took forever to grind for stone and to build, and in the end I found out, that fully loaded cart cant climb those stairs (it honestly can barely move on perfectly smooth road), so I had to rebuild it to be more zig-zaggy

No idea, the only concept of time we have in game is sun up and sun down. Yes it tells us what day it is in valheim, but not how many days we've necessarily been dead, or how long has passed in normal time. I would just assume valheim doesn't follow the same laws that govern time in midgard.
