👆 oh right that's for sure, also sometimes one or two of the "tips" is too low even if you dig down to the depth limit, in that case you just have to start mining from there and usually shortening it by 3 or 4 chunks will do the job

Karve is, in my totally unimportant opinion, the most versatile boat/ship in Valheim. It's fast enough, and can get everywhere.

When it comes to small rivers and their tight turns, together with rocks in the water everywhere, NOTHING beats the Karve for maneuverability(sp?) and being able to just go everyplace.

plus I will add that it fits a cart on it very well... if only it was faster. I feel like that is the reason the longship is used over everything, just because it is the fastest.

That is true. If you want to cargo a lot of stuff from point A to point B, and you know it's just wide waterways then the longship is preferable.

closing the game immediately after dying can cause saving issues that remove the gravestone but if that does happen you can load an automatic backup

i do like combat dockings if it’s night, have campfire mats ready to get rested back, eat up and leap off the boat as it crashes into shore and be ready for whatever.
probably because exactly that has happened to me in the past

if you REALLY want to go hard, it should be crafting table, portal, campfire, “is something wanting me dead?” no: sit down. yes: run AWAY from your boat and portal

and remember, it’s a survival game, preparation is as big a part as anything. You should never be in the position where you can’t make a new boat to get your old boat. hindsight i know but still

Okay, Update. I'm the luckiest dumb MF ever. I somehow managed to sail the entire day and night on my little raft to the area that I died. Only to find out that..... my karve HAD NOT BEEN DESTROYED. I didn't have much hope at first because the troll was still attacking it but I managed to distract it. Then somehow I managed to hop on my boat. Retrieve my stuff and sail tf away and dock on a nearby meadows

Ask set has great set bonus, no ms penalty and good enough armor rate so you won't die immediately while wearing it.

You can find rather large areas that are not covered by the mists. Usually near large bodies of water, but I have found nice large clear valleys as well.

In the past I did that on small mountain peaks that had several roots around them, then built the castle to enclose all of that.

Now I just utilize dvergr towers.

I have been kind of tracking my breeding rocks. So far it seems that they will drop 4 to 6 rocks for every hour I am near them. So if I could get multiple pairs like I do for boar, wolves, etc.... they could provide some meaningful help in filling my need for rocks. 😄 😄

Speaking of leviathans, i saw the eyes of the leviathan once and it was kinda scary to look at

Besides, if you drag them ashore and get the scales, it make a pretty decent shield that stacks with the root armors pierce resistance.

Take frost arrows while hunting serpents and get them as close to shore as you can

Its the only resistance that stacks too.

You can still make mistakes but constant mistakes will be punished harshly with high damage

The biome I always avoid in bad weather are the Ashlands. Like, yeah, mountain blizzards kinda suck, but it's still ok(ish).
But the storms in the Ashlands not only have low visibility too, but are also literally dangerous. Like, the mountain blizzard doesn't do damage by itself. But in the Ashlands there's fire... so. Low visibility + potential damage from weather + being swarmed by enemies during said weather, is not enjoyable u.u

If I go there and the weather is bad, I just turn back to my portal right away and spend the day doing other things.

I do for most storms and fog. My vision sucks enough as it is.

ITs also why I don't go out at night without good light sources. The wisps are a huge help with that, even outside of the Mistlands.

My first flametal ore vein that i just finished a few hours ago, it was connected to a naturally created grausten gate or something, so i have a safe spot to run to

yeah anything that touches a rock or solid ground is generally reasonably safe to mine

or even if it's just a meter or two into the lava, as long as you can easily jump the distance it's no issue
It's when you're relying on temporary platforms in the middle of a lava lake that things get dicy

that's basically my standard design: 3x3 space of the 4m grausten floors 4 meters off the ground, put a couple dozen eggs in there, light a campfire under it and when they're all hatched and grown just remove the floor to drop them all out. Takes maybe 10 minutes to set up.

So i put 2 chicken eggs in the chicken farm i built and also drop the seeds, after a day or two, i go back to check and only saw 1 chicken hatched, the other is missing

happens unfortunately, chickens can glitch and hatch out of an enclosure, if the wall is low they can also step on one another and "jump" out... i usually make a very thick and sealed stone enclosure for the very expensive first two eggs... but even that is not 100% safe
