Quite lucky run now - early axes during first day, early Elder vegvisir, area with 3 copper nodes next to each other, 4 bear trophies...
presumably fires and workbenches don't block fish spawns?
Today I found a yagluth vegvisir before a fuling camp
Work benches most definitely do. Even this play through I had to move them farther from shore so I could fish from my base. Not sure about fires, since I didn't have any that close to the shore line.
any tips on what to bring to the dungeon in Mistlands? Iron Sledge, Ooze bombs, anything else?
Also, how/where should I use ooze bombs?
On any doors, or root "doors. The gjal bombs can destroy those before they kill everything off.
It takes two ooze bombs to kill off all non starred seekers and 2 star ticks.
root doors?
You can also toss them through the stone doors, but the gjall bombs, once you have them, won't destroy those doors either.
Got cocky in Ashlands... didn't notice it turned night
Door ways closed off by what look like roots.
Took 30 minutes to get my gear back π
alright thanks
Yah, as always biomes are more dangerous at night, and Ashlands is the worst biome already.
I was having fun killing the undead and suddenly they had stars π
I get single stars even in the day time, but the two stars are just too much when you first get in there. Not so bad once you get your flametal shields, etc...
Yeah, havent found flamemetal yet.. still searching for a place to set up a base instead of an outpost π
The gjal bombs can destroy those before they kill everything off. <-- what did you mean...
I gotta admit, you have a weird way of expressing yourself
The wood and root doors.
ok I don't understand - I will do it trial and error
Gjall bombs do fire damage too and they break doors
will ooze bombs suffice?
so the ooze bombs poison without hurting the doors
It will become crystal clear once you see it for yourself.
Did take me a couple reads too. Just saying Gjall bombs will destroy the walls/doors in infested mines, making all the mobs spill out and attack you
Ooze bombs won't destroy anything, will just kill mobs while they're still trapped
thanks - finally a comment that doesn't give me a headache π
Kind of hard to write for the uninitiated when from the perspective who has seen it a hundred times. It s obvious to me.
I mean - it wouldn't hurt to read one's own message sometimes before posting it. I read his sentence like 5 times and still didn't make sense. Then Adipocere wrote one line and everything clicked
Yeah Robert was fine in what he said, but I can see how it would be confusing if you hadn't used it before
I already specified how many ooze bombs it take s to kill off the non starred mobs, and 2 star ticks.
If that wasn't clear, I guess I better go back to college.
I never even use bombs, but I like this idea.
usually I just go in swinging my weapons and hope for the best. use bonemass if I get into trouble or run away outside and rest up.
This playthrough I have fully bought into meads and bombs.. was never into them really before
Bombs make it much easier/safer. Especially the rooms with soldiers inside,, in addition to everything else.
I try to avoid stuff like bombs and sledge hammers in dungeons
Feels much too cheesy for me
you said ooze bombs can aoe damage monsters behind the door without breaking the door - what about bile bombs? Should I bring them too?
Bile bombs are the "gjall bombs"
Bile bombs can burn down anything not stone. Someone already spelled out what can happen.
Bile Bomb is the correct name in my workbench but whatever
Yeah, Bile bomb, Gjall bomb, same thing.
So for killing behind doors = ooze bombs. Killing everything including infrastructure = Bile bombs
so, when exactly do I use a bile bomb? As opposed to the regular ooze bombs?
Open areas you donβt mind setting on fire
Hiding on a tower wile mobs circle under you, or running through a fuling camp laughing maniacally
i meant inside the infested mines
I use them only on stone doors, especially when I know a soldier is behind it. Ooze bombs can work on any door. No real need to switch to the bile bombs.
that is where i am heading now
Oh I throw them in pits with seekers
i never used a bile bomb before - so i am worried to waste them
other than seekers, anything ever good in a pit?
But usually just bring ooze bombs so not to take up inventory
I dont remember ever finding anything good in a pit except sometimes other tunnels
Yep, you only really need ooze bombs. Only reason I even use Bile bombs is because I play with my wife. She carries ooze, I carry the bile bombs.
any meads i should bring to the infested mines? Other than healing
Ooze bombs are to prevent shit from hitting the fan. Bile bombs are for when the fan is broken and shit is everywhere.
No. No poisons or fire to worry about, for example.
I carry a lingering stamina and a strong health pot
Anyone know if theres a way to know which way a tree will grow with what way you rotate it at as a sapling?
if you have a portal and a chest right outside? then can swap out stuff easily eh. I wouldn't run around mistlands without Leapfoot and Fire Resist
I just carry my usual meads for the Mistlands, because, the Mistlands are right there outside of those mines.
swapping too much gets me in trouble. well shoot, I forgot my fire resist and just started running to find the next dungeon
I never thought to experiment with that
hey all, Ive never played on a public server, only solo or with friends, just wondering if anyone could tell me how different it is playing with a larger group on a modded server?
I want a tree to be a specific way for a build im making π
Really wish there were cranes in this game π
The main thing is trust.
lol
birds or cable lifts for goods?
There are, just we can't use them. Not that I have seen the dvergr use them either. π
the big difference in the experience depends on server rules and such, but gardens grow faster, you never sleep through night, fires and torches keep burning and using up resources while you are gone. dungeons and other resources might have been taken before you get there, but the worlds are so huge usually not an issue.
Its definitely best if you play with people you know, but I played on plenty of servers where I knew no one, and had a good time.
I still hid the stuff I wanted to be absolutely sure no one stole, but no one stole anything. That I noticed, at least.
griefers can be a problem even on good servers. admins have tools that can help.
The latter
Even more tools now.
I want to have a dock where I can dock my boat and carry things up into a base
build a cool, functional port
you can kinda make things that look similar but it doesnβt function
The Dvergr at least get to pretend they have functional docks for loading/unloading.
itβs not exactly that big of a deal, just a personal fantasy I wish I could live out
Is there any way to get a tree to grow faster
I use ladders to be able to over load myself and get up onto my docks, but still a far cry from functional cranes.
Sleeping is the closest.
Its fun to plant a grove of trees as close as possible then be gone for several game days. When you get back all the trees shoot up at once. You can actually plant trees a little closer than normal because with them all growing at once, they dont block saplings with cover
You do have to be careful with that. Come back too soon and some will fail.
True
Still, the tree avalanches are fun enough I am willing to sacrifice a few. π
Is it not possible to pop the tall big rocks in plains?
You can
It can be a challenge, but you can get them to pop. Just some times you may have to take off a bit of the bottom before it pops.
I mined all the ground under it and then a little bit on the bottom but no pop :/
You also have to pay attention to how close the side objects are, including ground.
That means that you have to mine higher. You have to remove the entire bottom layer about 2 l 2 and 1/2 m high
With how deep they go, you can't always give them enough clearance without breaking off X amount of the bottom.
lol i just got "you stirred the cauldron" in the plains where I'm building and all of the bats got obliterated by 3 lox that spawned in near me
POP πͺ¨
holy stone tho :D
Sometimes I use bats as a block trainer while waiting for the raid to run out
smart
if they had an achievement for popping a copper node I think most valheim players wouldn't have it.
If it was an achievement I feel like most might go for it
Well, maybe not if it's that you have to pop an entire node
I think most don't even know about popping copper nodes. but yeah, I dunno how the actual mechanic would compare a whole node vs a huge chunk of the node. its not quite like silver.
i think it's like 50 min
i guess time to train jump skill
probably same amount of time as a fermented mead
do different types of e.g. wood have different amount of hitpoints or is it like that wood structures always have the same hp?
does the wiki say? I think it takes longer to chop up an oak a beechh
I think they are asking if wood beams vs core wood beams have more hp?
Or ashwood etc
durability = hp?
Yes. Core wood and regular wood are 400 durability for the 2m so I assume wood and corewood are basically the same
Ashwood the same
Ironwood is 2000
Yeah but as far as straight wood, they seem the same
yeah so wood is wood except Ironwood being "exotic".
wood iron, uses iron bar to make it, so integrated. like using iron cage
Ironwood is regular wood with iron inside
I was wondering in terms of defenses. If it's worth it to get better types of a material. You 'd obvioulsy only want better wood for specific strucutres like the 4m pole.
oddly more durable than iron cage
you can overlap wood structures too.
so you could make a wall pretty strong, except monsters tend to do aoe
Black marble is good as it has elemental resistances and is as tough as stone
I pretty much play it like 7DaysToDie I have a seperate Horde base instead of surrounding my entire mainbase with like walls and trenches.
Grausten small pillar same as wood. lol
its mostly overkill imo. as much as I've dug trenches or built earthen walls. I'd say can nearly go through an entire playthrough at a base with nearly no defense.
sleeping at night might be a big part of it though. Otherwise sure a troll raid or two could be a problem, but I find they tend to come after you, so just leave the base and deal with them.
Yes, never fight inside your base
Hence the horde base
Like orcs?
it is fun to build some defenses, some spike setups can help a ton. or you could build a variety of bridges or other systems that keeps monsters from invading the base. Corewood bridges you can run across but they dont' walk across are great. otherwise the 1-wood rickety fences work well too.
there are some silly tricks with stairs too like pointing them in the wrong direction. I usually just give my self little jump spots to go over simple walls.
You find what works with your style.
i just went to the mistlands for the first time and got rushed by 4 seekers. is that normal? they had me running for my life until some lox in the plains killed them for me π
fight or flight
π« okay
was it any of them seekers a 2 star?
thankfully not, but i still couldnt really hit any of them without tanking a ton of damage myself lol
early forays into new biomes are typically extra hard. you'll have to learn the pattern they attack with, avoid getting hit back. learning to dodge and more.
meads & foods are super valuable.
yea im not going back without some meads this time
Still trainin jump skill while waitin for that oak tree to grow π
why you waiting and not doing other things?
dont i gotta be close to the tree for it to grow?
nope
none of the growing garden stuff requires you to be in range, unlike taming animals or getting them to boink (which requires you to be near).
I put all of my bee hives on my roof tops (All 36 of them now) because of how much it makes me use my run and jump skills.
Only one?
yeah i planted one oak
I gained 8 jump skill levels while waiting on it growing lol
Oh, yeah, I do that with Oaks too. The rest I do as a farm crop.
what?
Like plant a hundred at a time, cut them all down for wood I need.
I used to do it a lot more when I used to do much bigger builds.
Chpping down oak is a bit annoying
They are bigger and tougher than any other tree.
oh I thought you jump the whole time while staring at it
π I suppose I could do that too.
The thing is about oak, fir and birch trees is that its leaves hitboxes take up a ton of space
In the endgame I use trollstav to do the labor work
But due to the leaves hitboxes being so big the summoned troll cant see me so they refuse to attack
Hence why I just use beech and birch
i hate the mistlands
wow this area is so pretty, or atleast it would be if i could fucking see it
you are not alone
or maybe you are! how could anyone tell??!
they went too hard with the fog effect ngl
like its one thing to have an area be foggy and hard to see, and then theres the mistlands wich most of the time theres a literal "fog.png" plastered on your monitor
i genuinelly cant see sometimes even with wisp
You can find decently large areas mist free, but its not exactly easy to do.
Most seem to be on the shore.
Even though I have found some real nice areas deeper in.
they have mods that make your wisp more powerful. all mistlamps have a 12m range too so you can use them to clear out areas.
without the mist mechanism, I'm curious if it would feel as interesting? I mean, misty mornings in the plains are pretty brutal.
not in mistlands. ive seen people make actual sundials though
ooohh nice idea
Its even harder finding one with roots
look at shadows. compare the sun in the sky to times you know. use your rest buff to track.
AND even harder to find a mistless mistlands near shore boarding a plains with roots
i mean just tone down the mist a bit, make the fog png slightly more transparent
thats all i ask
slightly more transparent mist
cuz thats not mist, thats smoke atp
Guys, I know it will be an overwhelming question, but are there any popular servers or active RP servers that you recommend? Or a place to find such?
Yeah, I have found areas with docks, towers, even dungeons, but roots, at best, are on the borders, inside the mists.
Only #1024264966712340510
HOW TF DID AN ASKSVIN GET IN THE CAGE HHEARTH???
They are kind of good at climbing walls, even by themselves. What are your walls like?
Danke
Let me send you a picture in dm
I had to break it
"motha fuckin clocks, look at this ancient ass clock here"

Well, you have a ton of them. So thats the first problem. π π
Silver Sword. Probably.
Frostner isn't bad, plus you don't have to deal with the knockback on a boss.
Frostner is a good alternative is you're lacking silver to make the sword
Yeah I have both already
Wym
Either skill significantly better?
Don't have to deal with the knockback?
Don't you use Frostner?
Ah right
I mean I use it here and there when in the swamp
Otherwise Atgeir almost always
Yeah, its famous for how far back it knocks your enemies.
With the regular attack too?
Not sure it does it as badly versus the swamp mobs, but it does do it against fulings.
It doesn't knock them back, much, if at all.
Although generally my atgeir does the job well enough
Doesn't knock back blobs?
Thats why Atgeirs are so liked, by those who use them.
Indeed
Not that I recall.
And still we don't have an Atgeir emoji
My wife uses Frostner, while I use swords.
She played with mace from the start?
I use Frostner for a short while. I switch to swords with the BM sword.
We both do. Then I switch to swords with the BM sword.
It is.
Especially BM Atgeir it's just OP
I like silver sword, but Mistwalker rocks
I'm really a fan of the BM Tower Shield. The thing is a beast, all the way into Ashlands.
Against big enemies too. At this point I can easily stagger even loxes and fuling berserkers
When Is Valheim 1.0 Release Date ? ? ? ?
Yeah I'm using the regular shield. Was wondering if I should make the tower shield for facing Yagluth
Not announced
Well, I've been using Tower Shields for years now. From what I have read here, they may be better than parry shields. π π I started using them because just blocking made things harder. Back then. Now you can just change settings.
I used to really love using a shield. now I usually run around shieldless even with 1h weapons
idk if u want me to spoil yagluth, but there aren't really things to parry against him
Can't parry any boss, can you?
you probably also dont want to stand there blockign either
Yeah I figured it's either that or just probably big attacks that would be difficult to parry
You can
you could block meteors I suppose, but its better to hide under something I would think.
Only thing I don't stand and block is his fireball attack. My shield blocks everything else.
its just that his attacks arent realy thinsg to block or parry, its more of a mobility fight
Only his meteors. I block everything else.
Yeah it's fire attacks right
you can block his IMA CHARGIN MUH LAZER move??
Oh ok there are actual meteors lol
I even block his breathe beam.
Ahhh spoilers
well i was trying to not spoil it
and then everyone els eis like FIREBALLS METOERS lol
Don't worry, you will still freak out.
oh ok good. well yeah so he doesn't auto attack in any way, he just casts things you're probably not wanting to touch
I'll just put on my padded armour and use fire resistance mead
bring health potions and fire resist and just run a lot til you learn his moves
Tower shield, the BM one, blocks all his attacks just fine, aside from the meteors.
really?? that lazer seems like something impossible
its never even coem into my head to try to block it once ever
The fire mead is a must, for sure. Even if you use a Tower
Shield.
Wym about the block settings
I block it all the time. Its kind of impressive,, for sure.
I'm probably not gonna use a tower shield though
Too slow
imean if you apparently can just hold block against things why would you need to move?
Yeah, people complain about that all the time. I still move fine, plus the R key puts it away pretty fast. Plus gets it back out.
ive never had movement problems with being slow, i do heavy armor and battleaxe drawn all the time and just slow scary walk at my enemies i dont get it
I still run out of the meteors attack. But yeah, I don't need to move the rest of the time. Its why I beat him in around 2 minutes. I am hitting him all the time. Even use a stamina mead in order to keep hitting him.
why are copper depossits so laggy
it always takes like half a second for the ore to drop
no other vein does that
No idea, seems to break immediately for me.
Sure but some people (like me) just like mobility and getting places fast
Boss fights can be a different matter
You have a point there yeah
Just wasn't sure how effective blocking would be against Yagluth anyway
I'm generally more of an "offence is the best defence" kind of guy
because its underground, then it reappears above ground
what exactly does "Crafting Skills +9" mean. That's from EpicLoot.
It means you have 9 points of Crafting skill added to your natural skill level
threre is smth like natural skill level?
I thought there's workbench/Forge lvl and that's it.
oh the continuous skills, I see.
well, that's pretty much irrelevant then.
haha now ask what crafting skill does π
Not really irrelevant. Depending on what you're crafting, higher skill has a chance to make extras
you can get like 1 free arrow when you make 20 π
What I don't understand is: I have a cloak with +9 Health. When I switch to it, I do not gain 9 health π€
yeah the game even really encourages you arguably to be smart about using what you might call your singularly greatest weapons--hammer & hoe--for example, it's quite helpful to simply do some ground levelling as you go in the swamp to make fewer places for you to be possibly chased into a pack of leeches
I once crafted an extra Bell :D
Huh? You sure you're talking about Valheim?
they should add a wagon, an upgrade for the cart, so that you can carry more, and pull with a lox
now there will be an use for riding
I think you can ride a lox with thousands of pounds of ore?
#screenshots message This is what I planted the oak tree for
as much ore as you can fit in your inventory
Dvergr privileges
25K gold for your wagon haldor, final offer
25.001
they need to buff tower shields
its literally better to just parry
and its not even that hard to parry
i really wanted to use the one you get in the sea but ig not
stagger reduction?
imo they shouldnβt break something cuz they broke something else, towers are fine
Gonna need to start asking your questions in #mods-discussion
More than half your questions are about mods which people here probably can't help with, and it's not really supposed to be talked about here
i keep being told to not bother with heavy armor
is the armor stat really not that useful?
some of those sets look very nice
level 50 run and i havent left the first 2 zones yet haha
Sounds like bad advice. It's very preference based.
Light armor slaps. Heavy armor slaps
If being given advice specifically for the super early game though, heavy armor can be a bit lackluster there. Like black forest heavy armor is barely more armor than the light armor variants. And the swamp light armor has some unique perks that make it really good
Once you progress out of the black forest I think heavy armor is very good. A lot of people like to mix things too, so part heavy armor part light armor.
Heavy armor is especially good for helmets, because despite being heavy armor, helmets don't slow you down
i remember my first time playing i had full set of bronze armor so i sailed to the second boss, when i got there i arrived at a swamp and i got one shot by a skeleton, and i uninstalled the game
oof
i jumped onto land and got hit by an arrow
Eating food is very important. Food upgrades are honestly more important than any armor or weapon
If you've been sailing for half an hour, it's easy to forget you're on an empty stomach
yeah i cant say for sure if it was that because it was a long ago so i dont remember much
im gonna see if i can manage to kill a wolf in the mountains that spawned on my starting area... nothing bad with getting an early wolf cape
muehehe
Do need silver for that cape
Although wolf meat isn't terrible
oh damn
unfortunate, yeah wolf meat is good
but that would actually be cheating to me haha
the cape is fine, they all just give the same ammount of armor
There is one cape that gives a nice boost to armor
But it's laterrrrrr
the current late game capes are wonderful, especially the modifiers they have, hopefully future capes follow this pattern
i played on the side with a friend for a while but shes busy rn
so i havent seen the last area yet
its fine theres plenty to do even without touching the last biome
i decided to make a playtrough for myself alone
still upset that magic is so late into the game
its too OP to be added early
its too OP to be added
well I guess it does have the trade-off of needing etir food? but still OP compared to the rest
just make weaker magic
i think magic fits nicely into progression currently π€
oh wait nvm not all magic is OP, some of them are though
idk i had already built my character into a big axe wielding barbarian that when i found out that there was magic in the ante-penultimate zone i was so angry
theres a spell that summons roots that attack, and a boss that summons those same roots that attack
why not fuckin, add that there man
pmo
thats the most busted item in the game
the first boss be shooting lightning out his horns
so busted its basically quasi cheesing
idk i havent used it
eh you'll get to it eventually
i stuck to necromancy because the lightning magic is EVEN FURTHER AHEAD
wouldn't you wanna lvl up your elemental magic for your future lightning magic?
"theres a whole magic system in this game, all you have to do to unlock it is beat the whole game"
no
im not gonna use the blunderbuss taser
Game also isn't done yet. By the time it's done there's gonna be (I imagine) 2 pretty content filled biomes to viking your way through after the magic biome
i just summon my skeletons and give them shield, thats cooler
cooler than fireballs
sending an army
2 and not one? isnt DN the last biome? whats the other one
Ashlands
oh, and here I thought we will get a new sub-biome
2 is not alot
Eh to me it is
1 and a half actually, because the shock staff is in the ashlands
Honestly I expected this game to stop in Plains. There's a lot more content than I had anticipated
good thing it didn't
otherwise how would have been blessed with the PTSD of ashlands
So by that logic, if they added magic to meadows, there would still only be 1.5 biomes to use it in because the rest of the magic doesn't unlock until ashlands?
just let me make a shitty lightning staff with eikthyrs horn
let it shoot a single spark idc
no, not really
there would be all the rest of the biomes, all that would be are upgrades
Is it just that you only consider lightning magic?
repairable torch that has minor lightning element
lmao
You unlock magic in mistlands and can use that to finsih up mistlands and do all of ashlands/deep north. It is a bit late in the game but I still feel it gets a lot of play
I think there's a lot of mods adding magic to earlier biomes tho, could try those out
Its a great introduction really
i shouldnt need to depend on mods for the game to be good
i dont really like mods anyways
the games pretty good though, I do have dissatisfactions with the ashlands and mistlands but overall rating still good for me
hopefully the devs decide to add some form of early magic
whole ass witch in the swamp
but she doesnt wanna share any spells
I dont think they will add early magic, thats just me
they added 'early axes', who knows you might just get your 'early magic'
haldor sells a bolt stone
Ashlands I feel like most the stuff they honestly did really well
There's just 2-3 things that really bother me and detract a lot from the biome
Mistlands is perfect, my favorite biome
its so we can make our glorified trashcan
If they ever did earlier magic I think they'd go more in the direction of adding consumables, like killing a Fuling Shaman could drop a fireball staff that had super low durability, couldn't be repaired etc
I dont like the envinroment modifier to be specific, the rest are good
imagine instead of completing the obliterator you use the spike as a spear, and you throw it, when it lands it gets stuck on an enemy and a bolt falls on them
taking appart my obliterator
just carry all the components of an obliterator everywhere you go
having my teamate distract the 2 star troll so i can place the obliterator
I've honestly considered if the obliterator coudl be useful for base defense
Never tested it tho
hmmmm I doubt it, the timing would need to be precise and its not automatic
who do i gotta mail for this
Precise timing and a very small area of effect
how much is the dmg again? Ive only got hit a few times at most
i think its 200 if you get hit by the bolt directly
but you gotta stand on top of the spike for that
it says on the wiki lightning strikes the lightning rod above the Obliterator dealing 400 Lightning damage and additional 10 Lightning damage within 2.42 meters.
enemies take more dmg from frost if they are in water, so maybe its the same for lightning?
it is
give me my early staves valheim dev
Not even in water, just wet
and my life is yours
I dont think they added a mechanic that increase the AoE if its in water or on metal, would make it much more viable as early magic in swamp otherwise
the swamp witch is so fun i love her
I hate her broom
i love watching her broom go outside to smash enemies over the head
parry the broom
the broom was standing its ground
stagbreaker near bog witch is a no no
Get swept
sneaky lil sht got me from the back while I was distracted fighting the enemies upfront
i accidentally hit it once and i didnt wanna kill it so i let it kill me to see if it would calm down
oh my god dude
i hate when stuff like that happens
when im fighting a troll early game and a horde of greydwarves decides to spawn
i was fighting this one 1 star troll and they wouldnt stop spawning, i would kill 5 and another 5 came non stop
i didnt know what to do i just hid on a catacomb
me fighting a 1 star troll with a group of greydwarfs and a shaming healing him, all while having crube bow with wood arrows
atleast you had a catacomb, I was near my new base and spawning inside had a high chance the troll would smash it, so I held my ground
Just put 2 campfires and all your greydwarf issues are gone
btw i got so unlucky with the early axes
well except the shaman and brute
the troll smashed them midway, I had campfires all around but I guess a troll spawned on this tiny tiny non spawn proofed area
I had a high success rate finding my Iron axe head near water
early game feels weird to me now π
how so?
Well experience
ahhh true true
worst part is my friend installed the game, made a world, and found them almost instantly
I see you too have been blessed with terrible RNG
I do have a seed that has both of them near spawn if you want that
lemme go grab it
did you see my house in #building-screenshots
Ngl I hate the fog more in the other biomes compared to the mistlands
WOODHOUSE2
this is the seed, the heads are in Northwest and Southeast, very very close to spawn.
same fog is annoying, literall I decide to go explore and the world decides to fog
alright, lets see em
also why would you notice fog in the mistlands. its like being born blind and suddenly waking up to find out you lost your eyes
the same fog that makes it so you cant see very well? or like, the morning fog
silent hill fog
when it fogs for me its like im experiencing half of mistlands
Mist > Fog
its kinda creepy when it happens in a world that used to have alot of players, basically we have a small village and when the fog hits, it feels like its haunted
since im the only one left I decided to place some graves to honor their memory, and the graves + fog hits different
on my mama i cant find them
can you send a screenshot of the map
sure, it wont be a full reveal just the areas where they should be, is that fine?
yea
sent it in screenshots
the most important thing is that it can cut early birch and oak trees
it is RNG dependant
Greg looking majestic
by the time you can fully upgrade it you'd be in the swamp or mountains so
imma test these out on a tree
what
is lvl 4 not the max
you would need to upgrade the workbench for you to upgrade the axe
and the workbench upgrade mats are in later biomes
The new axes do more than Flint but less than Bronze.
So they fit exactly where they are meant to without breaking anything π€·ββοΈ
the fucking charge attack lmao
its good for jumping deers π
i got them on lvl 4 and i havent beaten the elder yet
Use them to kill Elder, making bronze age much faster.
the fastest way is still to hire the local big guy to help mining
ok they attack fast but they cant cancel out of it
almost a whole second to dodge after a swing
i wanna try these out on a troll
Eh. I would have to see side-by-side to believe this now tbh.
Elder buff is insanely noticeable.
but ill probably go back to sword and board
Dont spam it lol
You'll find out the hard way
no, spam it, the last one standing is the bigger man
ig im not upgrading my bronze axe lol
can i plant the big fat trees
are there seeds for it
i find it silly that its easier to parry a troll with a log than without it
for some reason the ones with no log always stagger me but i can parry just fine the ones with the log
makes no sense but sure
@tacit crystal right lol
I've yet to actually discover it so didn't cross my mind
let me make sure i am understanding this, but screenshots containing ANYTHING modded (IE UI/items in inventory) cannot be posted in #building-screenshots even if the building and its construction is all vanilla?
Probably not
No reason for that
holy damn these axes are bear melting machines
The drop rate is abysmal, same as birch
what did you just call me...
ugh where do you find valheim screenshots in your files?
I thought people had issues getting Vineberries to grow well.
They grow like crazy for us.
I did, for some reason, then one day they just fruited
There was also this bug that made all grown vineberries in self planted vines disappear after logging out, but since Call to Arms it has seemingly been fixed.
Well, now we plant them over 2 meters apart, and give them walls 8 meters high to grow up, and they do, and give us tons of berries.
I found a higher place in the Meadows that is marked as Mountain in the map. Is this normal? This is clearly not Mountain.
The view from there is amazing tho, since it's super high and near the sea π« βΊοΈ
they need to add tameable greydwarves
these mfs keep walking into my house, i always find them inside
might aswell just let them stay
Tried to feed them arrows. They donβt like it
im such a dirty cheater
my controller has a special turbo button that can make any button held press itself repeatedly
and i use that for putting shit into da forge hehe
i play with mouse and keybaord but i got the controller right next to me haha
Is the bear-rug at Haldors base ment to be destroyed? If this is some error, I hope they fix it.
Damn people, even stealing from someone whos just being nice.
is this channel age-restricted..?
You're probably old enough
just curious
Valheim as a game has no official age-rating. Discord however, has.
What 10% drop chance does to a viking.
Hey, I'm having a problem because the altar to summon the Elder appeared in the Swamp right next to (presumably) the Draug spawn (during our trip to the altar, my friends and I encountered two groups of Draugs, each with one Draug with a star, and well... even though there were three of us, we got a good beating from them).
Is there any way to move this altar? Alternatively, is there a way to summon the Elder to a different location? Or is it possible to disable "God mode" and kill the Draugs so I can play normally? Currently, it feels like we can't fully fight the Draugs when a single bow shot from a Draug with a star kills a companion.
PS. Sorry for the poor English. I'm using some help from internet translator.
Find a new one if you cant handle it.
There are four to be found
How do I find another one? Every time I search the dungeons and find the Elder's location, it always shows the same altar.
Look for a new Black Forest in another direction from spawn
nope
Remember you can also find the vegvisir in and outside ruins in Black Forest
Ok, never mind, I found the videos, I didn't know there was more than 1 altar in the world
Go get'em ππ
Okey now i get it what you meanπ
Still love going out of mountain during snowfall and get faceblasted with a golden rain
Not sure what that refers to, but it sounds so inappropriate π
Thank you I was thinking the same
The Valheim building addiction is honestly real
Iβm planning out a base in my head instead of paying attention to my classes π
You can put the layout on paper and make it easier when you do get back to the game
are lily pads purely a feature of black forest?
Meh I gotta see what the trees are like in the swamp I want to build it in
I want to make a tree base with a space for a ship to sail in underneath
am I missing out a way to upgrade stuff to lvl4?
I only see 2 different augments for workbench and forge
What biome are you in? They unlock as you progress
kekosummer in that last screenshot u posted, that looks like the bottom of a copper node pit? if so, trees dont like when stones or ore nodes are too close, there may be rock beneath them
about to go into swamp
so for forge there is two at this moment but for workbench you should be able to do one more
Workbench should have a little axe thingy made of flint, deer tannign rack made of deer hide, and a bronze adze made of bronze
i respond to 10 lfgs yesterday and only get one text then ghosted. how do i play with more than one friend that losses interest in a week? (like i do)
If you lose interest in a week maybe teaming up with others isn't the best play
But my best advice for playing with people is playing with people you already know
Since that can sometimes be hard, LFG is there as a fallback but it's not always great
i quit cuz i cant do anything alone for longer than 40 hrs then i get frustrated being alone and outnumbered cant get past the queen
Interesting.
how can i get perms for pictures
#screenshots, #mods-screenshots, #building-screenshots all allow pictures
thanks!
How do the damage totals for Frostner work
Like, how do the different damage types combine to give a single value
After weakness/resistance is applied to each damage type, they're added together for total damage
So in theory without resistances the base damage is 95?
No, 75
Because the spirit doesnβt damage living creatures
yes but you'll never deal that much because of skill level and damage variance
I mean, Iβm dealing plenty of damage, so Iβm not really worried about that
it damages bats
Iβm just curious how it works
valheim bats confirmed to be vampires
i never thought about that
And fenring family.
vampire werewolves
is there any sort of date confirmed for the deep north i havenβt been up to date in a while
No dates announced.
ah damn
whatβs the development looked like so far is it all coming together?
like based on the teasers and stuff
You can read about them in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202150165449035816
But this reads in one of their blog posts:
But besides that weβre now focusing the team solely on content for the Deep North and 1.0. Armour sets are being designed, dungeons are getting fleshed out, and enemies are being animated. Weβre itching for you to see it all, but we also want to make sure that thereβs plenty of things left for you to discover on your own!
And 67Β° roof pieces is confirmed too.
ah sweet they also said
As you all know, we're working on Deep North, which will be the final biome update that brings the game into 1.0.
While we can't give an update on that today, we can share that 2026 is going to be a great year for Valheim.
which kinda could mean it comes out this year or it might not
Yeah, at least Valheim is going to be released both in PS5 and Switch 2 this year.
But what else might become will remain to be seen. π
hey what happens if you mine those rocky poiβs are they indestructible? do they raise/lower with terraforming?
They seem to be destructible. But don't know about them moving if terraforming.
One way to figure out.
too risky! just wondering because if i find one i can make a glorious shrine to the great rock, and wondering if i can flatten land around it. but if it might shatterβ¦βhaha how funny would it be if every rocky in the world just had a permanent shocked face??π
oooβ¦. or turned into a normal rockβ¦ so many easter egg possibilities
I was placing boat in the middle of the night and turns out hologram wasn't quite where I wanted it... so it dropped on top of my pier
that has happened to everyone im sure
I am considering temporarily flipping on creative mode to build a house that I found on YouTube. Go ahead chat, crucify me now
I don't want to destroy it and find out that nails dropped onto seabed...
it's nice to pursue your creative ambitions
nails do sink. if you cant shove it off, build a pier underneath the pier to catch the nails maybe?
people do far worse
it's not getting pushed...
if u really want to save your nails build as much underneath as you can. or if its faster to destroy your pier and rebuild
if its not that deep you can jump in and sink down to pick them up. how deep is the water underneath?
Do what you want, I just don't do that because I appreciate the adventures that come along with gathering materials.
sink?
maybe a bit more than 4m pole
depending on weather...
I took my chances and they didn't drop
Are there any new updates concerning the deep north? Will they incorporate objectives? Do they plan on ending the game at DN?
Deep North will be the last biome.
And it will eventually end.
well not βsinkβ maybe βbounceβ is a better word. you can get pretty deep if you jump from high up
no plans on the horizon for a 2nd game?
will Lox breed in the Meadows?
We don't know that.
I don't think there's any published plans no
Devs may have internal plans
I love valheim farms
found my first leviathan
I was pretty chill, until I noticed it is indeed trying to sink.
I didn't have any meal ready, so ended up 10m away from my boat with 0 stamina and 25hp
maanged to get to the ladded with 2hp thanks to tick doing both dmg and regen from the meal I ate whiel in the waater
I was just palnting some oaks haha
I had enough space in my coastal base to plant 10
and now I left a added a couple to add some nice cover
can someone give me some advice on what to do next lol? ive killed the second boss and need to kill the 3rd but im too weak im stuck kinda idk where to start what to do (im playing solo first playthrough 50hrs in)
Have you crafted a Fermenter yet?
yeah got 4 of those up just lack stuff to shove in it
i wish i could barely make it back to my boat from a leviathan for the first time again. any trekies here?-i feel like picard talking to wesley crusher in the cave, "how i envy you, you're just at the beginning"
Try brewing up some Poison resistance mead, you'll want that to take on the 3rd boss to be sure.
ive got 10 of those! im still rocking the bronze teir 4 sword and sheild with troll armour
Ah, you'll want to brave some sunken crypts and bring a boat load of iron home to smelt so you can begin upgrading for the fight!
hmm okay okay
For that fight I would recommend the Iron Mace, and to think about making a sword only after that boss is defeated.
The 3rd boss takes a lot of blunt damage from the Iron Mace.
Yeah, the weaponry from the previous biome is typically nowhere near as good.
You can compare them in the forge's menu when you have materials, an upgraded level 4 bronze weapon will either be as good or slightly worse than a level 1 iron weapon. The level 4 iron weapon will make a massive difference.
got u
why is htere a village of green evil man in meadows?
My advice is just take it slow, if you're overly focused on progression it can feel like a grind, but adventuring and drinking the world in can really be peaceful in it's own right!
indeed
You found a Draugr village, their lore can be uncovered in the swamps, be careful if you choose to fight them.
lol omg early axes kill eikthyr so fast it's ridiculous.
so they should be in meadows?
I found maybe 4 wooden spears, but only 1 axe head...
They are always in the meadows.
Draugr Villages are found in no other biome, not even inside the swamps.
At a certain distance from spawn yes
Someone built all those old houses. Sometimes they are still there
Those villages make a great base. I think I will use them from now on.
RNGesus is crazy, i found the tough to find axe had in the 2nd tough to find building, but somehow after hours only found 1 beehive lol
I found both axe heads very fast during the trip to the nearest Eikthyr altar. Fastest Eikthyr kill with meadows tier equipment ever.
excited to try on a bear, wonder if its faster than killing with parrys and 1 hand flint
Much faster.
You can parry even the weaker attacks with enough HP.
-# But suffer some damage if without armor.
I imagine early axes will also level you axe skill faster
I'm still at black forest and have axe skill over 50.
Although I have only used axes and spears.
After my deaths in Ashland last night I do t want to look at my skills
ohrly? hmm even on hard? ill try it anyway
Haven't tested on hard.
axe spear is the way
Although I had early finewood bow with me but didn't use it, same with bear paws.
Is this game worth playing anymore?
Always and forever. π€
Why?
Yes
cheeeeeeeeeeezus, ok so early axes on hard at least are BAD against brutes. not even close to parrying and they attack fast enough you cant recover from a swing because they after-swing is so long.
Iβve been going axe mace recently, but yeah axe spear is probably the βoptimalβ combination
Countless ways to play, bottomless adventures, engaging building systems, fun with friends, tune-able difficulties, and plenty of enemies to take mastery over.
yeah, cuz also inventory space, your axe is your weapon, and your spear is your bow and arrows
Yeah I wouldn't trust low parry armor against a brute
Meh Iβd still like to have a bow and arrow on me
But yeah I agree with your vision
I could just play Palworld if I wanted that.
I imagine early axes are just for parrying greydwarves and MAYBE a 0 star skeleton (if you are on hard)
Axe also for woodcutting
Okay, but you didn't ask me how it differs from Palworld.
I mean hey, itβs not everyoneβs cup of tea and thatβs fine
Bottom line is if you enjoy a game, play it, and if not donβt
I was not a huge fan of palworld
Some reason still played it through
ok so 3 meats CAN parry it without self-stagger, but still take like 20 damage that it's not sustainable the whole fight. that said, i think it still killed faster than flint because the silly bear AI let me get off a couple full combos on it and that added up fast
I didn't think I needed to. I wasn't expecting vague, obtuse mechanics every other survival crafting game has.
I like the free build mechanic quite a lot, do you all think itβs cheating?
You asked me why in a very broad way, you want specifics, ask in a specific way.
For base-building and the like
Not for portaling and ship building
All I said was why? I shouldn't have to guide your thoughts down a narrow hallway.
It is cheating, that's why if you enable it, your character has "Cheater!" listed in their stat readout permanently.
I shouldn't have to assume the answers your looking for when you're not being specific either.
You don't have to assume anything. Just don't parody an IGN game review, that's all.
In the /stats list when you're in your world.
Iβm on xbox π
It's legitimately things I enjoy about the game, you just took issue with it for some reason.
You should still be able to access chat.
Maybe? I dunno
Probably!
I havenβt really gone looking for it since I play alone
The "no not like that" approach won't get you very far. If you don't get the information you want, maybe you're not asking the right questions.
Fair, there is a chat even when solo, you can use it utilize some commands, like /sortcraft, which will organize your crafting menu's ordering.
o didnt know this
?
I forgot how big the stone portals are. I need to rebuild my main base now
its like a 8x8 size
Itβs the height. Donβt fit in my portal areas lol
Maybe 8x9 lol
@chrome badge quick questions, whats thhe command to kill a specific enemy
bc in my ashland fortress base I hear a lava blob underneath my base and my asksvins are not liking it lmao
they keep going to the corner
Oh that's a console command, I'm unfamiliar with those, sorry!
Is there more to do in this game other than building and exploring?
You will have to fight for your life, like the whole time
hahahah.... ok so you can't parry a hard brute them, but if however you time your final combo vs them with early axes they stagger and lose 2/3 their hp.
Idk if that's a joke or not lol
Go experience it and find out
I got to the forests and got bored.
Oh dudeβ¦ thereβs sooo much more to the game π
I mean thatβs valid though, I got stuck in the same spot
That's cool. But, just like One Piece, I'm not into games that take 500 hours to get into.
Took a break for 6 months, now Iβm back and super heavily invested in it
There is alot to do
It can be beaten in just like 80hour'ish
That's cool.
Well, less than that but extremely unlikely for a new player that will make countless mistakes but once you learn from them, you could
Is there replay value to the game if it's that short to beat?
Yes
Yes because of random generation, multiplayer and world settings
1200+ hours here. Always something new to do
Itβs still being developed too. Once the final biome is added I think most people are going to spend over 100 hours on a first playthrough
But yeah one of the most replyable games Iβve played. Procedural generation really does a lot
the map is randomly generated every world is new, there are different weapons to use and incraese your skill with and playstyles, im also well over 1k hours and its the only game currently i want to play
LMAO THEY FLOOD OUT LIKE PIRANHAS LMAOO
Just saw that I just passed 3000 hours played, this is crazy
Idk. It's been 5 years. I'm nowhere closer to believing them.
Just depends on how you feel about it at the end of the run. It is a game with clear objective so once you complete it (still being developed) and want to put it down and move on, that's just fine.
Yeah, I get to the forest with the trolls, and get bored and play something else. This game doesn't have enough to hold my attention.
Itβs been 5 years with updates runningly being added
Isnβt that reason TO believe that itβs being actively developed and more content is becoming available?
Hmm, have you tried playing it with friends? co-op is an option.
Art is subjective, not everyone can enjoy everything.
No. Just like The Forever Winter devs, I don't respect games that have DLC before being released.
Why would you care if the last 15% of the game isn't complete if you just make it 5% into the game?
Cool.
Valheim doesn't have DLCs, it has updates.
You can call them whatever you wish.
No you can't, different phrases mean different things.
I CANT SEE SH LMAO
trolls be trollin
This is where people try to tell me "semantics".
Oh so people have tried to explain this to you before.
its a month old discord acct, obv troll
No, I'm saying I've been in his position before.
If you dont like the gameplay wise thats fine no one is forcing you to play, you dont have to put a bunch of hours into a game you dont like, we play because its fun, period.
And also sometimes hilarious
The dev's work eithic =/= my experience in their game
π
If I'm playing Palworld, then surely I'd enjoy this game. No?
Not necessarily no. I'd say they're pretty different
Similar games does not mean same experience
Again I felt "eh" about palworld but absolutely love Valheim
In terms of atmosphere, gameplay, and other mechanics
I wasn't even talking about the creature capturing aspect. Just the survival crafting aspects.
While both do have "similar" mechanics they often have different gameplay wise
Oh I'm talking about all aspects
I rarely play a game for one mechanic
Build bases, level up, fight bosses, etc.
In terms of crafting I'd say they're pretty similar
Valheim is more survival heavy tho
Do you even go hungry in Valheim? Isn't food just bonuses?
Palworld's building wasn't as fun as Valheim when I played, but I enjoyed the game overall.
You don't die from hunger, but it's close to it. If you run around without food you have almost no health and stamina, which means it's hard to fight anything and you're going to be oneshot by any hit
That's a lot of words to say no.
Going hungry makes you weaker, you're already dead though.
Just found 2 bee queens in second evil green man village just outside Hi... merchant just slightly away from first one
where is the goddamn deep north update its almost 2 years
So, no. Valheim is barely even a survival game. Crafting, yes.
When its ready
I said rarely π
Actually it's a lot of words to say yes. Just wanted to give some detail so there wasn't any misunderstanding
I feel like they're deliberately misunderstanding. π€·
It's a hostile, open-world game where you have to survive by gathering resources. It's a survival game.
its not that you ... you don't starve to death, but if you don't eat you basically die in 1 hit and can't run more than 2 feet, and learn skills slower and dont regenerate resources if you haven't rested, and nights have harder enemies, weather does things, there's plenty "survival" to it
"You don't die from hunger, but it's close to it." What am I misunderstanding?
What am I deliberately misinterpreting?
That's pretty clear...
its not a survival game
You asked if you can even go hungry, and that's a yes.
there's a little bit of a grey area between two things, and you're making it a weird absolute for some reason
hunger makes you weaker
So yes, you get hungry. The game even says "you are hungry" when you haven't eaten.
But to clarify, it's not the same mechanic as some games where you start losing hp when hungry
You didn't ask if you can die from hunger.
Your character making a rumbling tummy sound is not equivalent to health draining towards death.
skyrim survival mod more survival game than valheim
In Valheim you are already dead. The dead canβt starve. But they can be hungry
ok now you're just trolling lol.
Your health literally drains without food. Obvious bait is obvious.
Go play some DayZ and tell me I'm trolling.
i've lost interest in helping such a person understand even if you aren't trolling
You should disable those mods you have.
I don't mod early access games, the feedback during the development period is part of the process.
I'll take what you say at face value.
But that statement sounds like something a Nintendo fanboy would say.
π€‘
"sounds like" =/= "is something"
nice drama btw im getting some snacks anybody wants
I love seeing β1 ignored messageβ
I don't, wish discord would just remove it from my screen.
Fair
Just wait until the age verification. Then you'll need to give Discord facial recognition.
You dont die of starvation in palworld tho
What kind of person?
I don't think so, no. I know your pals can get sick and stuff from it though.
Can someone help me
No
A wraith is guarding my buddy and I bag
It was there in day
Ah the hut that spawns the wraith
Unfortunate π€
Do you have backup gear?
From the sounds of it they dont
Itβs already a server
Is it modded?
No
or any form of modification
Vanilla
Ah ok, send me the server details in dm so I can assist
The world of Valheim may suck, but at least they don't have to know how to do calculus
Hmmm calculus π
Valheim is the best game ever π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯
Valheim was my late Uncleβs fav game too
Stupid luck run continues: managed to find and tame 2 star boar, found ||BigRockClearing||, managed to find early turnip seeds and got to test Early axes against Abomination. And even more bear trophies, this time Haldor might get to keep his bear rug.
Another good way to "find" 2 star boars, is when your far enough out to see starred boars (Not just in a village or at boar stones), just keep killing the boars until a 2 star spawns.
and how did they fare vs the abom?
Got it staggerlocked.
didn't the troll trophy give comfort in the past?
Nope.
Is tehre any item which would give comfort placed on an item stand?
an armor stand itself does.
this game is so fun
i love to take it slow
ive been playing for 2 days non stop and i still havent gotten to the elder yet haha
rn im boating around my starter island just to contour it on the map
RIGHT?!?!?!?
bro i beat the elder after 5 days
IRL days or in game days?
irl days
i love sailing in the ocean
its very empty, maybe too empty, they should add something to it
but what could they add to the ocean surface, its the ocean, there is nothing
unless they decide to let us explore the depths, but i doubt it
would be too much
POI Islands perhaps?
Would love some type of variation of sea stacks. Not as pointy and jagged as the ones in the Ashlands, something a little more welcoming perhaps π€
Hmmm⦠is there a command or something to spawn a stone spire- like the ones you see in the plains?
whats POI
Point of Interest
So like a burial chamber or a sealed tower, for example.
the main ocean poi is the leviathans
but some kind of ocean based dungeon thing would be super cool. like the sealed tower
Yep, leviathans are POIs as well. Believe theyβre currently the only POI in the ocean currently? π€
Yeah, some sort of ocean dungeon could be crazy cool if done right
Many players talk about that we should get an Ocean update or ocean tasks or more monsters. I personally think that the Valheim Ocean works so well precisely because it's kinda empty. It builds up for the exploration where we don't know what we will find. And it can be terrifying at night, or during storms, or with fog. I really love it. It's a very unique Ocean, and it does the job well.
Also, some maps don't have Ocean areas that big, so if they were to put more stuff in it, it could easily get crowded and confusing imo. π€
Whatβs terrifying about it? π€
Admittedly the first time or two you see a serpent. But after that, theyβre exciting to find
My idea was a floating wreackage
Fuling ship
just finished valheim modded anything else to do? any really big modpacks?
do it again, but with no portals and no map π
It's not about the serpents. It's the environment itself. The emptiness that causes the feeling of uneasyness and suspense. Valheim in general can cause that feeling in many occasions. I think their ocean does that too. The "mental fear" and having to be in a state of alert all the time. It's not visually terrifying, but it can be super uneasy. Basically that. Especially the first times.
The Ashlands sea on the other hand, it can be terrifying too, in a way XD But it's also badass as heck.
But then, when we arrive there we are much stronger.
People who think the ocean works well is a small minority. The prevailing opinion is that it's boring to take SO MUCH time to travel anywhere with nothing to do.
Id like it if there was a reason to get out of the boat to pick something else. Plants, floating debris, fish that tou can pick up, etc
So the physical dangers don't seem so dangerous. They still are ofc. But nothing compared to finding a Serpent for the first time when we are low level.
Well, it's a game of exploration. I think it's supposed to take time. And let's admit, we probably spend like 5 or 10% of our play time in land, not in the sea.
"We need this boring because the nebulous concept of exploration" is a weird take but okay.
Well, I didn't say that, and I am not a dev. So you'll have to ask them what the original concept of exploration is.
That's immaterial to this conversation. You say it works well. The vast majority of the people I see discussing the the quality of the ocean, it's expressing annoyance at how boring it is to travel.
I said that "more empty" isnt necessarily boring, as many people say. So, in fact, if I said something it's the opposite of boring, because I don't think it's boring at all.
You said that I said "we need it boring". I did not. And I also never said it is boring.
how did you replant crops again?
Use the full grown crops to make seeds. Basically replant them and wait for them to give seeds. Then you use those seeds. And repeat again.
I'd say similar to how mistlands generate
the dvergr shipwreacks you thought of should only spawn around where mistlands spawn in the map generation
The cultivator shows me the crop greyed out even while I have 20 in my inventory π€
More empty? Starfield planets? π
Seeds > Crop > Crop Seeds > Seeds > Crop > Repeat
Use the cultivator, just like you used it for the seeds. But there will be a second option to plant the full grown crop to get the seeds.
If you have the full grown crop/veggie in the inventory.
ye, I overlooked the seed variant, thanks! β€οΈ
You will encounter later crops that just needs you to replant the crop itself to multiply
But for now its just seeds > crops seeds > crop > repeat
Was thinking exactly the same!
Honestly a couple things like sprinkled lightly around the world could add a lot to the world without cluttering really.
Damn those groupers are heavy
my ashland landing in immersive mode has been a trip..!
i'm savoring the moments : P
the ashlands are already intimidating in most playthrough, but without a map and no portals to get out of there, its surreal.
even trying to find the shore through the spires, without a map, was a lot scarier than i expected. its very disorienting.
fun times
You are a brave Viking
found another wild 2 star asksvin
Which forsaken power should I use when fighting Yagluth
We should be able to name baby animals
I swear 2 star creatures become more frequent once you have one
I have encountered 2 after taming a 2star asksvin
Ok but I think I'd probably better focus on offence & defence
Speed boost is both offense and defense but you do you
It'll mostly be fire damage right?
Eikthyr was honestly the best forsaken powerup even b4 the call to arms update
My second would be pre-nerfed bonemass, and third being moder
When bonemass got nerfed fader took place as my second pick for forsaken powerup
Fire and blunt, iirc
early magic when
some lightning damage too, make sure to not be wet
He fkin melts through the pillars lol
Then I get a good shelter from the meteors
can you like have only 1 portal in base and keep switching the tag to whereever you wanna go?
yep.!
and you can you then connect multiple other portals to the one in the base?
no, you can only connect pairs. if you make a 3rd and 4th with the same names, these other 2 will connect as a new pair.
i like to keep a unamed portal in my base, so when i'm out adventuring and need to drop my portal, i dont have to name it, it will pair with that unnamed one at my base.
hm, but that means in the end you'll still have a lot of portals in the base and the switching idea doesn't really work.
when i play online, i place portals all over the place and place markers with their names.
i mostly keep them disconnected, until i need them. at my base, i keep a few portals, connected to the most important ones. and a blank one that i keep for emergency portal.
(when i play solo, i have a huge portal hub at my base, with 40ish portals in late game)
just beat the queen for hte 1st time... (tried many times soooo much prep work to get her)
congrats !
How might I get the new celebratory hat? Im getting back into things after a year or so
melee only..... (ps i didnt know u could have more then 1 trinket on at a time till now)
