no one tell him the answer
Do you not require resources to upgrade?
Its ok you can google it
thank you
wait let me check if google is even right
So you say that every creature in front of you is starred ones
yes google is right
I'm just waiting for you all to catch up to the fact it's very easy to find a 1 star troll.
So how far away do they spawn from spawn?
Never saw a 1 star troll in my world. It was very common in my friend's world.
Are you asking anyone or just the 'expert'?
I asid dont give him the answer
but then again he didnt answer the question the first time either
Any cave related troll has star spawn possibility.
2000m from center or from one time spawners at troll cave.
exactly
do you know how rare that second one is
Waiting for you to catch up austrian...
You're telling me its optimal to hunt a rare spawn
since you didn't know that about the caves...
In Vanilla ore doesnt regenerate
Its possible with mods.
You can put EWP scripts on a server then all clients get the script without any mods
So, it is possible to make a server with respawning ore for vanilla clients. But not in single player.
I did know about the caves
do world modifiers affect stars? (combat settings i mean)
Yes, they're more likely on high difficulties
They're extremely common.
Extremely common huh
I run across them all the time on my playthroughs where almost everything one shots me.
It also makes monsters faster ๐
See what happens trying to outsail a 2 star serpent on normal vs veryhard jajaja
So they're literally everywhere
33% for the outside troll to be there and 75% for the inside troll to be there. And 10% of those will have stars.
I play nakked.
That's 5 caves...
20% more on hard and 40% more on VH
They're bit faster due to them being also bit larger.
In the meadows?
not really
You saying you haven't run across 5 caves just casually on your way to elder? Cuz I run acros a dozen or more typically.
not every cave is guarunteed to have a troll in it or around it
Oooh so it makes the speed scale? Like how LOD scales with size ?
more likely by far not to have one outside.
I'm still waiting for austrian who has played almost every way i can imagine, to imagine playing like me.
You must be lucky having to kill 2 star serpents. Pretty good supply of meat
I dont have to imagine
yeah, I've never seen a starred serpent.
Ive also played the game naked
It's been an hour and I can see you still can't.
Fr
serpents can not naturally star
The enemy speed scale key only affects their walking speed, not swimming or flying
I dont think 2 star serpent exist in normal gameplay?
neither can lox?
You can spawn them tho
we need starred greylings that take 2x and 4x knockback
What do you think causes the Serpents to swim faster then out of curiosity?
I have 2 star Serpents in oceans on a server and we noticed if its on veryhard they swim super fast
Speaking of playing the game naked, do you know how i kill yagluth without bonfire cheese naked
As austrian quietly stops responding after I debunked his entire worldview on optimal starting if you choose armor with a simple response to his own 'gotcha' question that proved he was misaligned with reality.
Do viles have starred versions
I play nakked.
No.
You havent debunked anything and i've responded to everything you've said
Hehe, those would go flyyyyying ๐
You just don't read what I say lol
Or rather, they do, but they don't spawn naturally with stars.
1 star troll easy to get. Entire community agreed w/me. Waiting on your response.
You said it wasn't...now you say it is. the hilarity.
Find me one in my world
I love that moment where you club a gobbo or fuuling and they go flying its hilarious xD xD
Turn the difficulty of your world up.
Are you sure it's actually faster than normal and not just swimming faster than you expect?
No one agreed with that
What can I say I'm just so bewildered by your excellence
3 people agreed it's faster than his initial assertion (which didn't even include cave trolls btw...he thought you had to be 2k away from spawn to get one to spawn)
If you ever get a wood polearm use the secondary attack against bats. They take more knockback than any other creature but usually die in one hit.
Fuling shamans take also huge knockback, it's fun to launch them on their death with mace/battleaxe/atgeir secondary.
3 people = everyone in your world no wonder you think starred trolls are common
Vanilla on regular modifiers, you do. Except for caves.
I'm just having a little fun with him
calling me a rage baiter after being successfully dismantlted publically with your own 'proof' is low key amusing.
Use a torch
I'm sure it is
Basically we found that we couldnt actually outsail the serpent anymore but we could go far enough away it would stop chasing
why?
he didn't know caves were there. That's what everyone said they're far more common than he expected.
Or better just sit near a campfire XD
Oh yeah Austrian me neither in fact I had no clue trolls even exist
At least im not alone
How is that dealing the most knockback to bats?
Wrong reply
They burn to death
I was so confused ๐คฃ
I play the game naked
I never suggested wood polearm as a good way of killing them
Or just ignore bats cuz they don't do any damage at all
and my naked yagluth strategy is S tier
It's okay big dawg. One day you'll catch up.
it's fun to push them back with it
completely optimal in every way
But not today.
Yes, what you do is craft like 50 bronze helms
and die with one in you inventory 50 times by teh yag fight
See ya'll my game started and Austrian isn't even capable of gracefully accepting a new way of playing.
Itโs sad when people think their โget gudโ speedrunner strats make them a superior person somehow. The beauty of this game is how you can play it loads of different ways
so have infinite corpse run
Sad to see such a close minded guy who "Has played every way you can imagine"
then you can literally punch yag to death naked
it takes 45 minutes
but its optimal
I'll come back later and read his crashout.
Punching the queen to death is far more optimal.
Dont worry thats just the people who message the most often, they arent the majority of people. For every person writing a message theres hundreds of others just reading
A lot of Valheim players are completely reasonable
Punching the queen to death sounds miserable
Is crashing out from laughing possible?
She spawns a lot of adds
Btw punching does no damage on the queen
XD
Someone had to find that out the hard way
I've tried
The amount of times Austrain is wrong....Approaching 1 thousand.
even with 100 fist levels?
50
Well, it does, but she out-regens it ๐
does it literally do zero damage or you just cant out damage her healing
The amount of times austrian admits to being wrong....0
What if you get a group of like, 8 people all punching her at once
if you wanna play optimally use the command itemset ashlands 4 2147483647 to get 326417500000 armor and a lightning slayer with 257698050000 damage
Im curious, her being immune to fist damage is kind of random
fist damage wasnt even really a thing until this update
fist isn't a damage type
Like a big squishy poisonous punching bag. Flibbita-flibbita-flibbita-flib! ๐ฅ
https://tenor.com/view/saitama-one-punch-man-gif-16449862150109283583
Awww thats right no embed gifs
The numbers are at less than 1
-# But be carefull, if you log out and then go back it will not have nearly as crazy stats ๐ still in thousands, but not as crazy
yes it only saves up to NG+ 255
so shes immune to blunt damage?
Yeah
since when?
Still op as heck xD
No she isn't.
neutral to it.
Bare fists deal so little damage she out regens the damage.
as many have said, she just regens.
Take Flesh rippers and then now we talking.
Yeah thats i thought
Most creatures constantly regenerate full health over an hour. TWIGs regen over 30 seconds and bears/viles regenerate over 50 minutes.
I see the setup for a Valheim equivalent of the 40 gnomes vs Hogger raid in vanilla WoW. 10 naked vikings punching Queen to death..
the problem is the adds not the queen herself
Guess we need to allow them some ways to kill adds
The moment i left the queen's lair and came back restocked with meads she was back at full health like wtf
If there's no E in my armor count it's not strong enough
Took out 1/4 of health bar
The power of Error is immense xD
Did you sleep?
No
๐
She has good regen but not enough to regen 1/4 of her health in the 2 minutes it takes to portal home and grab pots
that would make her fight nearly impossible with her teleporting around
60 minutes for 100% regen
Ive always kind of found it funny you can just straight up leave a boss fight in this game
so 50% health left, 30 minutes respawn timer
you're in this epic battle and you just hit the pause button and leave to go grab more supplies
What would the other options be? With the game's durability, trapping players in would lead to them being stuck forever.
Itโs called a tactical retreat!! I didnโt run away!

Pausing the game feels OP to an NPC

Have you ever played terraria
yes
Has its risks. I read about someone who fled from Yagluth and it turned out he crawled after them on the seafloor and proceeded to raze their base to the ground
There is also "no boss portals" option in world modifiers.
Yes, in that game you don't lose your weapon using it too much
so if you find a boss you can't get stuck unable to kill them mid-fight
VLDL is life
The durability argument is fair
whats the first boss thats actually a problem though....... the queen?
Tried every weapon i had, only the krom turned out to be efficient, though I died quite a few times
I mean unless you're fighting the boss with something they resist or something
you can kill the first 3 bosses without any repairs easy
don't look to hard into what resists what
just bash with your favourite tool of choice
Maybe if the enemy damage modifiers weren't so extreme
Frostner4life
they should use the new slightly modifiers
problem solved
Froster does punch above its weight for quite awhile
You can kill moder with a serpent shield and frostner without dodging any attack XD
the slow and the knockback is pretty good
Iron mace is better
-# Bronze mace is better
(than frostner i mean)
I think queen is the first boss you're pretty much forced to repair during
unless you just use a bunch of different weapons
Why would I carry two?
The draugr fang can kill moder without breaking though?
Bugger, I log in to find myself out in the middle of nowhere, and I can't bloody remember what I was doing here. Getting too old for this shit I guess... Good thing I'm not on no-map, that would have been awkward.
so you don't have to leave moder fight midway to repair
you dont even need high bow skill
I've never needed to before
-# Double pew pew.
maybe you're getting unlucky with her AI deciding to fly often
2 are enough, since you usually have full inventory of loot before you break the second one
or build a workbench under the nodes ๐
usually copper
Why would you ever bring more than one? All you need to do is smack up a workbench and like two roof tiles to give it shelter, and repair on the fly
but you can squeeze in a workbench in swamps aswell with just a little roof
slam the workbench against a tree, 2 pieces of roof, done
so you dont have to actually leave the crypt
That other person is right though most crypts you wont break more than 2
I value two slots of inventory more than the 30 seconds it takes to run outside and repair
most of my crpyts recently dont even break one ๐ข
Bronze pick lasts longer and takes one item slot, I like to use it.
But then I absolutely no interest whatsoever in speedrunning of any sort
I mean you can still loot everything of value from crypts
i put all the loot in one chest and come back for it later and do one bit run
love when a crypt gives 100+ iron
Yeah, since Moder's new power and troll meads I can usually get it all back home or to my ship in one or two runs, unless it's the motherload lottery win crypt...
I mine all the iron i need for the entire game before killing bonemass, which isnt a lot. Its mostly just bench upgrades
bench upgrades and stuff like nails you need is like 100 bars
I never found the queen's vesvegir in infested mines. Finished all mines in 3 islands thoroughly, 12 mines. No vesvegir. But LOTS of black cores and fragments.
I'm like those tiny dudes in the old "Fraggles" tv series, I can't stop building - I truly never have enough iron
Searched em all
They could just be hyper rare like moders
the queen is kind of similar to yag in that her boss area is pretty distinct on the map
Yags you can see from space practically but the queens is easy to pick out too from a distance
If you get lucky and it spawns in a mist-free area. No such luck for me this time around, it was smack in dense mist, I only found it because of all the starred seekers that came at me all of a sudden
its more the outline of the dungeon when its just barely in render distance
her rock is pretty distinct and it goes above the mist
from a distance those coastal mines can look pretty similar
The ones with the giant stairs that lead up
Her rock can be baked into other rocks though which was the case this time. I was basically on top of the place when a two-star seeker with cohorts came out of the mist at me. From above all you saw was typical spikes poking out of the mist
Then yeah you got pretty unlucky
The rock formation are generally huge compared to everything else
Got moder's vesvegir in a tower on the first day in the mountains XD
kinda looks like a frog yelling lol
Ive had many playthroughs where finding moder is the true final boss of the game lol
lol
All the other bosses have pretty easy features to spot
Found yag's altar while sailing along plains coast
Yeah thats generally how i find yag too
Like i said you can basically see his rock formation from space
its probably the most obvious thing in the entire game
My yag place this time was half covered in mist. Made the fight a bit awkward, was joined by seekers twice ๐
I didn't know what I was looking for lol. I didn't know how the altar looked. Ran into an abandoned dvergr tower like thing that had multiple 1 star seekers and 1 star seeker soldier around it. Turns out that was the place i was looking for
#screenshots message Here goes!
Was talking about the queen's, mb
No you're fine im just having two conversations at once
I think you really did get quite unlucky
I'm not sure I like this thing that bosses don't fight mobs. I know it is so you can't kite the boss away to get ganked by neighbours, but it feels unfair when seekers swoop in in the middle of my fight with Yagluth and they don't even take damage from his AoE. Ashlands much better that way in that the AoE of various mobs damage other mobs, even though they are "allies".
Could be tweaked a bit so mobs will at least take damage to bosses' AoE powers so unintentional reinforcements like that are less angst-inducing.
Bosses do kill mobs though
Only tames
Faders whole gimmick is killing mobs with his aoe
including all the random ashlands mobs you aggro during the fight, not just the ones he summons
Your supposed to use that aoe that follows you to kill all that stuff
Haven't fought Fader yet - but it seems Ashlands is better constructed overall this way. Yag definitely did not do any harm to the bugs
I dont think its unique to fader but then again ive never tried to biome war bosses
I am pretty certain you need mods to force any mob to aggro any boss
having aggro and doing damage are two different things
maybe it is unique to faders aoe move that follows you
I would assume so
As much as I hate getting surrounded by massive numbers of charred creatures it feels much better than walking in the mistlands with all sorts of creepy noises coming in the background and low visibility
Now that i think about it baiting a log troll to smack bonemass would probably be entertaining
Iโve seen trolls die to leech poison, they wouldnโt survive long
Yeah getting them to the boss is definately the problem lol
A lot of people probably dont know that trolls can harvest silver nodes from some reason
but again the problem is actually getting one to a node without dying lol
Kited a log troll into the swamps. It got me 40 blood bags and lots of entrails XD
Trolls without logs can't hit leeches in the water it seems, so they're pretty much sitting ducks and will stand there pounding in vain until they die
prospecting swamp for mud piles with a troll log is like peak 2021 strats
No. Log trolls do smash the leeches is what I've witnessed. That was along the coast
They one shot leeches
Yeah, log trolls have much larger AoE reach - the logless ones aren't so lucky though, I often see them walk into swamp water and get roflstomped by leeches.
you can get a ground is shaking event in the swamp for easy troll access
not that thats incredibly consistent or anything
but that raid does spawn in the swamp
But if they walk deeper into the water they will massacre the leeches, it is if they remain on ever so slightly higher ground
doesnt spawn in the mountains sadly
What's the longest in game days you've spent for a biome
Like what biome takes the longest?
Never kept track, but I tend to go a lot back and forth
Or what biome do i think is cool and spend themos t time in
Yeah
for me personally mistlands because im an end game mage enjoyer
plains is probably the second one because its a farming simulator
Being a humble flax farmer that ocassionaly gets pestered by little green guys
Blah the gap between the iron sledge and the demolisher is huge... I love big hammer
Wonderful for dealing with those pesky greydwarves
I'm at day 544 rn, 243 days in the mistlands XD. So much new stuff, so much grinding. Probably would've taken 50 more in game days if I would've looked for the queen in mines
Since it came up, I'll spit on my fave rock again - I wish the big hammers had a regular attack combo as primary and the "me smash" move was the secondary. Make it viable to use as main fighting weapon, not just an aoe gimmick or group crowd control.
Oh
If im playing pretty casually im usually done by like day 120 or so
thats with a fixed seed though
i dont care much for exploration anymore
Well there's smaller hammers for that. The sledge does what it's meant to do... HULK SMASH
Greydwarfs? Lmao they get knocked back quite a few metres while holding block
If it does not kill em one hit yeah
It's so good in swamp. But kinda useless in plains
Fair enough. I just don't find the smashy move useful enough for the inventory slot - so the hammer stays on the wall 99% of the time. If I remember I will bring it to mines, but I tend to forget it most of the time anyway...
The fat impact and seeing mobs flying IS very enjoyable!
Demolisher gives me so much control in the plains, I just love smashing fulings with it
look how insane this seed is by the way, i built my base on that little patch of meadows inbetween the bonemass swamp and yag plains right under moders mountain. The queen is just north of that and all vendors are withing like a 5 minute walking distance
VbWeuvBCy3
Hammers are good for infested mines if you find the right spot so you dont hit the vines blocking the entrance
The sail to ashlands was long but good lord that seed is beautiful
Oh? Got a screenshot I can't rn
The world my friend just made everything is SO FAR AWAY
uh sure why not hold on
A no portal run on his seed would be torture
theres things the seed viewer doesnt show though
We have a dedicated server but everyone also has their own worlds
No-portals is the only way hehe
like the crypts in the bonemass swamp are loaded with iron
and theres like 4 silver nodes right next to eachother on that mountain
If I had more time to play I fully agree
I actually like sailing
Here you go #building-screenshots message
Wait where's spawn
You don't even need the drakkar to sail to the ashlands with that seed XD
nope
theres a piece of land incredibly close to ocean border
and the spawn is a good run south from that location i screen shotted but elder is on the way
after you kill elder its like a 20 minute run to that screenshot
the swamp is loaded, the plains is giga loaded, and the mountain ultra loaded
Hi all, literally just joined! I am playing vanilla on an easy world starting level 1 right now with passive enemies. just kinda wanna chill and be all cozy before bed, does anyone wanna join?
You can try asking in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510 ๐
Also welcome.
thanks
Ugh, I only now realised the build cost of Ashwood is twice that of regular wood for the corresponding piece. Whyyyyyy...
Thought I had lots of the stuff, big NOPE
because its burned
Fair enough - then gief an Ashwood kiln that lets me process regular wood into ashwood
๐
isnt ash wood technically a finite resource
I was wondering how on earth I was eating through the stacks so quickly
you get it from pois and the trees but eventually those run out and theres no sapplings
Can the dead raiser skele have better gear? I see them equipped with bronze buckler and sword
they can have different gear but its mostly cosmetic
Yes, and since environmental damage fells so many trees and bursts the logs, much of it is lost due to despawning
theres no difference between the buckler and the round shield skeleton
they dont even use the shields lol
Oh
Their damage output increases by raising your blood magic skill level.
To be more specific, only the newly summoned ones deal increased damage tho.
The sword and bow look like early equipment but they have unique stats, and the buckler is cosmetic.
I'd love if you could actually outfit your summons with crafted gear and this made them more durable and increased their damage output
leveling blood magic is one of the most painful things in the game though even with the optimal setup
you can bait a skeleton into attacking twig, which gives full xp, by using a trapped poison blob
and it still takes forever
and if you go to far away from the skeletons they try to follow you and stop attacking
Just play and dont forecefully level it then ๐
I suppose using a greydwarf spawner as a skelly fight arena would be an efficient way (and provide some resources) but the archers can destroy the actual spawner if unlucky, right?
if you dig a pit they should never kill the spawner
the greydwarves will spawn on the ground under it and you cant break them by removing the ground under them
they simply hover in mid air
I think they might target the spawner itself if they see it, but not 100% on that and too lazy to check rn ๐
I did build a greydwarf "farm" once as an experiment, but just can't bring myself to just sit afk and let it work, it is more fun and equally efficient to just walk around the forest at night.
I mean unless you need eyes theres more efficient ways to get wood and stone anyway
But, if I was to make any of the magic staves, I think that would be the motivation I need to make one again.
Shame I have destroyed all greydorf spawners I have seen, would need to go exploring...
That's what I am afraid of - going through all the trouble to dig a pit and the skelly goes "oooh, kill THAT" and poof
The skeletts don't target spawners by themselves. But they can definitely hit them when hitting enemies spawning.
So, to make a sustainable "training farm" would involve somehow shielding the spawner from the skellies below without blocking the spawning, I'm not sure I am interested enough in the subject to explore that. I don't do magic and I don't need a greydwarf farm for their drops...
Now that I have probably months of time, you have me thinking of trying out Ashland spawners for magic training.
Draugr spawners can be buried underground by raising ground around them, then skeletts can't hit them.
Maybe something similar could be done to greydwarf spawner too.
Worth trying. Then you don't have to worry about the water table either. Any spawner would be usable.
Don't ashlands mobs generally annihilate the skellies though?
No idea. I haven't tried out magic into the Ashlands.
I tried the firestaff once, and dead raiser once. Had a skelly named Gudrun running around the mists around my old Mistlands base for weeks, she scared me witless a few times. Then one day she stopped appearing, guess something got her in the end...
Recasting bubble each time one breaks is one way... But in Ashlands it might get more tedious.
Although bubble breaking grants also xp.
If the spawner is enclosed so no other disturbances will invade, I suppose that would only buff the skill gain. Bubble taking hits also gives xp, no?
As he said, yes it does.
Bubble breaking, not bubble taking hits.
Right. Casting the bubble requires a certain amount of eitr, no? I suppose my regular HHF diet won't provide enough eitr for a bubble.
And that is only bubble braking on you specifically, if you put your tames or summons in the bubble and it breaks on them you will not get any xp.
-# However if you put your friends in a bubble and it breaks they will get xp ๐
Gosh, guess I have to go craft those pesky staves
Ugh, so bubbling the skellies would only serve to not have them be massacred non-stop
Yep
Sounds like a greydorf training pit would be more efficient - but a charred pit more interesting ๐
I wonder what the spawn limit is on Ashland spawners? 3 like it is for the dwarf spawner?
I have a feeling its more ๐ค but only feeling
I suspect its more too, which is why I asked, in case anyone knows.
Pretty sure the draugr one is 3 as well, but its been a while since I have set them up for training. Just sausages.
2 actually for draugr spawners.
I honestly have no idea - I have never once walked close enough to an ashlands spawner to let it activate, I always bombard them from afar
Good to know. When I go for sausages, I'm just shooting them. I thought I had 3 running around at times, but wasn't sure.
Some can certainly join from afar.
Well, they are enclosed in Draugr Village houses, or I use the swamp tower with the spawner in it. So they are pretty well contained.
The stone circles with 2 spawners in them I just usually destroy.
Which is probably why they are limited to 2 each. 4 draugr can be pretty tough. ๐ 6 would be even worse.
all biomes weapon is crafted normally, meanwhile it costs 999 silver ingots to craft thin sword and cost 9999 silver ingots to fully upgrade thin silver sword.
silver weapon is godly expensive lol
Silver sword is better than mistwalker against many ashlands enemies
i know, no need to yap about this since we finished our journey for now.
there's good chance that i will be inactive from this server for very long time.
You forgot to mention the iron. Close to 20 to get it to lvl 4.
Plus nearly 2 veins of silver.
i know, it takes 160 silvers to craft and fully upgrade silver sword which only take measly 23 iron to craft any fully upgrade.
Hey, im new to valheim. Is there a way to travel through portals with metal? Thanks
there is two ways, one is special portal variant which is only be crafted in final biome, and other is use world modifier (portal modifier) to disable metal restriction.
Ah okay, i just discovered the swamp so there is a long way to the final biome, i think i ll do the world modifier thing
alright
I just saw that there is a mod called teleport everything, is that better than the world modifier changes?
they're same thing
Okay thanks
there's mod for it because it was made before world modifier was added
Didnt know that, just got into this amazing game
guys what modifyers should i use for my valheim server , we are 4 people and its the first time ever for the other 3, i want to set resource to 2x because there wont be enough recourses for all of them to craft gear, but im afraid it might ruin their first experience, tell me what you think if possible โค๏ธ
ofc. by thr way, i'm valheim veteran.
1.5 is best personally or it might go by too fast but Im solo so idk nuttin ig
I play w everything on normal and its my first time, i will change the portal thing tho
idk cuz we only kept drop at 1 and i only play with 1 friend, that is it.
1.5 seem fair enough
2x resources fs
1.5 also works
I used to play 1x but the sheer level of grind to get full gear in an area was awful. I still think they need to double drops for iron and silver
If you play solo its not that bad
The more people there are the harder. I play me and a friend but I like building a ton and needing iron for armor and builds is tough
i also played on normal with a friend and i feel what youre saying , too timeconsuming to fully upgrade gear for 2 ppl
100%
Not inherently true, you also gather resources faster with more people, and kill things faster.
then ill just go with 2x for now to see what happens when we reach swamp
You can even load up 2+ boats at a time for one trip's worth of time.
i don't mind about grinds
(especially we have portal restriction disabled)
its true but not when players are playing next to each other all the time, in my server we quickly went out of copper nodes in the main island and needed to sail in order to get some more copper
A lot of resource grind is finding the places to grind at. Iโve had to clear out entire swamps and then search for a while for more just for 2 people. I think with more people itโs more unfair to enjoy finding it
YEEESSSSS this
two players is small but fair enough to play through game without madness related to resource.
I just think itโs too much, grinding needs to feel purposeful but needing a whole boatload is nuts
only for me, but yeah is it for you.
Yeah true, it may be in part to both of us getting full armor, shields, swords, and upgrading them each
Ah, well it's still going to be faster than it would be solo to clear those nodes, and I've never had a starter island with less than 40 nodes so that must be a small start island.
unfortunately yeah its a really small island
i think yeah is it.
might also ask the guys and change the world entirely and start again , we have only beaten elder so far
wow i had no idea but makes sense why i lost all my stuff in the server. ๐
what do you mean?
the discord server hack
also, just wondering, has you finished your valheim journey for now?
like literally anyone
I've been on steam for 16 years, I have 1100 games and 1,000+ hours into a bunch of them. It only took 9 months for Valheim to hit my #1 playtime, and it's competing with idling in other games like AFK farming in Terraria, I'm stunned. What an incredible game (the math says I have a problem)
I'm playing no map/no portal w/o spoilers & wiki, really taking my time exploring and building all over the world, and I'm about to fight Fader for the first time. Wish me luck
how much hours did you played in valheim?
Best of luck!
I've enjoyed the level of drops. Each of my pieces of gear and each set of, ex, iron bars on my castle feels like an accomplishment with what it's taken. I want to protect my equipment and builds, instead of just dying and losing to raids because I can rebuild easily. It's forced me to play this game differently than others and it has been so much fun as a result
Finding a crypt on a shore while I'm out, or a bridge that I can mine up easily is rewarding, instead of just another structure I'll sail by because the resources are easy
Nice stud Im traveling to zee queen as we type
1622 hours so far, I'm on day 1555 so some of that is probably sitting at the pause/main menu
I feel the opposite. Since you have to go through so many crypts they lose their charm
Goodluck.
I only had to go through maybe 10, beat bonemass, and started wishboning iron until I was into Mistlands.
Even then I am overflowing.
10 is kinda crazy
Damn, that's more than ALL of my game.. except for terraria (1,771 hours)
which is like over 2.2 months
Huh
Is it? There was about 30 in my swamp area, and each one was very different so nothing became stale.
I had to go through about 10 in every other dungeon as well to be fair.
tiny teeny swamp
Can I see the seed perhaps? Iโm curious if maybe I just got super unlucky
I had to sail across the seas to find more
Grab map generator
Sure just a moment.
It was very small
use map generator map and mark what swamp you've been to with this many crypts.
Way ahead of you ๐
Since I don't know the game and I'm playing no map/no portal, I have had to explore and find my way home a bunch. I've been lost a ton, and not sure what to do next a bunch. Finding the bosses has always been difficult and taken forever
I've spent hundreds of days building just for fun, collecting ~80,000 stone and thousands of iron for a castle, marking the shores of ~ half of the landmasses in the world with letters so I can know where I'm at. Building bridges, paths, etc. I don't even know what's in the game, so I'm exploring every new/weird thing I see
I'm also playing super safe since dying usually means making a new boat and coming back after no skill drain wears off - if I can even find where I died
Thatโs rly rly cool
๐
I didn't find haldor until about day 400 when I was starting mistlands. He was on a small island near spawn I kept telling myself I would explore later >_<
The belt is a game changer
Yeah, especially for getting iron/black metal. Massively reduces amount of trips back and forth weight wise. For those who've fished there's also the ||mead of trolls endurance||
Damn blueberries are so hard to come by
Make sure to mark your favorite blueberry patches on the map!
We really need those
if anyone here likes to play the silly way: abt how many askvin (1-star) do you need to kill fader?
if we dont get deep north by March in PTB im gonna REEEEEEEEE
And we will all be here to wave at you.
Is there another reliable seed map generator site other than valheim-map? Im trying to help my friend and the seed he is sending me does not line up with the map he has. The only letter that we might put in wrong is a lower case l but neither of them are giving us the proper map
If it's is an older map, you may need to input your files you have if you're on a pc.
hes pretty new to the game so its a recent install
Does he run pc?
yes
Has he tried uploading the (i think it's fb and wot files?) (The website tells you where to find them
yikes nah. He isnt very technically savvey , im trying to help him but were communicating through text lol
I can't find enough blueberries for good food...
Odd, my closest black forest had 20+ patches of 5 or more blueberry bushes.
Are you marking them as you go?
Iโm about to play the game again after a yearโs break. Have they added growing berry bushes yet?
Or at least moving existing bushes?
Got all the way to the queen lair. Died by four seekers. Its not looking great for me lads
There's no plans to do that, so no, they're forage-able items to keep players moving throughout the world.
You can always create a portal chain between bush patches.
Dang, is that really considered so egregious compared to crops?
It's meant to encourage exploration and keep biomes relevant.
โฆBerries alone?
Have they added a bunch of relevant uses for berries to make that worthwhile?
No, there's over 20 items that are only foraged.
Because farming certain enemy types was always the reason I thought biomes stayed relevant
You like ur berries huh
I like jam making
I would recommend marking large patches of berry bushes, and creating a portal chain that starts are your base and goes through a lot of large patches, and eventually returning you back to your base.
Is that your jam?
Indeed. I like to start jamminโ along
Man, even though I know that portals become pretty trivial to make, that always seems like a waste of resources for some reason, XD
Iโll try to put my existing portals to biomes near berry patches, at least
whats up yall
Troll tree farm ๐ค
One of my favorite authors is called Broseph, your username made me double take, XD
Yeah it becomes very easy to make, and it takes some time to explore enough to locate patches worth portaling to anyways. It emulates having berry farms quite well after it's all set up, you just run forward and collect berries until you're sent back to your base.
im doing great, just started my first grind a bit ago after working all day. no clue how i never found this game until the 50% off deal
About how long for berries to regrow, again?
5 hours roughly, so if you need a lot of berries, you'll need more berry patches to chain between.
Nice, yeah it's a good gem. I've definitely enjoyed playing through it
Wait, is that static, or is there a number of in-game days I can keep in mind?
I believe each full day is a half hour
The wisps r dancin
just beat my first boss or whatever, debating stockpiling or moving into the forest
21mins I think
Not sure how it's divided between day/night tho, I'll go check
9min night
So once a week, roughly?
โฆCan we make a time-piece thing that keeps track of how old the world is?
Yeah 21 mins for day, 9 for night
How old the world is? You mean what day it is? Usually announces it each day which one it is currently
Does it? Like I said, took a break for a year
Yeah, either sleep or hit that night to day transition and it'll tell you
Currently on day 437 in my current world
Decided I liked Valheim more than Megabonk
Tag swap it is.
Favorite part of Valheim?
Steamdeck verified.
Yes
Iโll check in a bit, took a break to eat popcorn before starting this new run
Those r pretty shweeet
founda moneybag icon in the fog, what is that
Haldor trader
so coins are currency, sick
can i build a base around him so hes in it?
didnt even have to sail. this "island" that im on is huge, i cant get the coastlines to connect
Look pm ๐
I think thereโs a no build/mine field around his shop. Might also repel monsters? Building next to him ainโt bad, though
Thank you! (am I not supposed to ask for that kind of stuff here?)
u are but i dont think im allowed to put yt links so thats why ๐
but i hope it can help you out ๐
ah okay, good to know! Thank you!!
Yes! I don't have as much time to play as I used to and I just can't spend the time building scaffolding just to build high
Construction in this game is kinda interesting, one of the only games I know of to take structural integrity into account
Building in Valheim is ๐
Especially with all the things we can build with and decorate now ๐
Funny that how cool your house is determines how well rested you are, XD
One of my favorite things about Valheim is that when I get tired of dying I can decorate the kitchen
Its so flexible ๐
Basically hardcore Sims
Anyone have any tips for finding yagluth or his vegvisir? Have searched 10+ plains, spent 3 irl days sailing around the world with no luck. About to walk away from the game for a few weeks at this point
Sail the coastlines and look for him reaching for the heavens. ๐ซด
Yeah ive been doing that with no luck
Me post going to Ashlands : "WHAT IS THIS PLACE WHAT IS ASHLANDS WHY DO THE DEVS CHOOSE VIOLENCE" LOL
Its good to take breaks from Valheim if you feel burned out ๐
Most people dont find the Yagluth vegvisir, they see the Boss Altar itself off in the distance
Sailing in whatever direction the wind takes you is probably the best way to find it...
Provided the wind takes you in the right direction ๐
If you're truly feeling frustrated with it, you can load your seed on valheim-map.world and see what direction you need to go
what happens if I launch my old legacy save?
oh no
I think I got all the new content. I want it to stay legacy
Honestly you could have just gotten a bad seed. I love this game but it can have some unlucky map gen. Iโve had my fair share of seeds where there were zero altars or vegvisirs. At that point maybe just look up a seed map and check where it is
Just had my first leviathan encounter. Got off with 37 chitin
What should I craft?
Abyssal ravor?
yeah its most likely the case, made another world seed to prep for deep north and think the spawn is probably somewhere fairly inland
Trying to avoid looking up locations if i can help it
You can play legacy, but you need to do a few things first.
The options available easily in steam are:
- Pre-CallToArms
- Pre-BogWitch
- Pre-Ashlands
- Pre-Mistlands
To adjust your version of Valheim, go into your steam settings and browse your games
Right click on Valheim and select properties
Look for the drop down list under "Betas"
The current oldest legacy version in steam is Pre-Mistlands
Thats my favorite weapon in the game ๐ ๐
It looks awesome! I love knives in Valheim too much jajaja
Hmm idk the other knifes so far haven't proven particularly useful to me I think
But I heard the Abyssal razor is special
I like using knives because they attack very quickly, so you can run around monsters and wittle away their health even if the monster is stronger, avoiding getting hit without having to dodgeroll or block because of the knifes movement speed benefit
The Abyssal Razor is really strong if you get it early, otherwise its hard to use after the Plains
Its one of my favorite weapons overall though, its fun to craft, has a unique source of materials, looks cool, does good damage for when its available. What more could one ask for out of a knife?
would anyone be willing to hop on to my world and help me kill some ulvs? My dad and I were way in over our heads going into the mountains (we're very inexperienced) and got killed in a frost dungeon, and we cant get our stuff back
I love the new updates I just want it for that one world to maintain its history (it was legacy originally).
I get that
Alr nighty night
That is so cool that you are playing with your dad.
Still need help?
yes!
DM me ill be on in a minute
@chilly citrus copper and tin is the biggest pain youll expirience
guys i know this isnt where to ask but im not really looking yet i just wanna know, are there any rp server or like adventure type server for valheim?
Probably some modded servers.
Any location you have already explored in an old world will remain unchanged, content from later updates only apply to terrain that is generated (explored) after the update. This is true for the most part - but it is important to know that the Ashlands update sunk a lot of land into the sea in the south and north to make sure both Ashlands and Deep North have no land connection to other biomes. So if you have built things in the extreme north or south on that world, those things will likely be hanging in space and disintegrate after loading in...
I see
Are Leviathans really that rare? Already found another one
There aren't that many on a world, but if you sail a lot between islands you are bound to find a lot anyway. To me they are just obstacles so I usually hop on and give them a couple of whacks to sink them...
You don't need the chitin?
Just found my third one btw lol
Chitin is currently needed only for harpoon and Abyssal razor. So if one has both of them then gathering more isn't necessary.
Yay found Hildir
In the peaceful meadows also. Nice
Right next to a Draugr village though. Lmao
Literally camped right on the border between meadows and plains. And right next to a Draugr village. What are the odds??
I was this close to dying rn lol ๐ค
Oh it's the lady trader... And she only sells useless stuff
Useful for farming and building, but nothing particularly exciting for more warlike activities. The firepit is useful to make fireplaces on wooden floors though.
But the mini-bosses are fun, and unlock exciting new raids ๐
Farming set is available after you return the first chess.
Barber kit also allows building barber station, which allows changing hair/beard styles, and there are some new styles that are not available in character creation.
But at least you now have one trader who you can sell your valuables.
Also, sealed towers have practical early reward at the end of it, which is ||chicken eggs||, which become available to ||Haldor's wares after defeating Yagluth||.
hey i wanna ask something
is it like more helpful to find haldor after defeating bonemass?
Doesn't really matter when you find him. But certain things he sells are unlocked by boss kills
He's good to find at any time
Fully upgraded embla set and maxxed dundr, portal set near fader ๐
We might do the sword quest/location before doing the boss
Dundr is fun stuff. Maybe not most optimal for all situations but fun and feels badass.
This is the fun stuff I'm talking about: #memes-and-clips message
I wasn't sure about mage on my first few days but I like the versatility and utility. Especially with my partner so I just wreckhavoc. Dundr I've been mostly using on Morgens.
Yeah, Dundr is super effective against Morgen. #memes-and-clips message
Yes, safe way to do it is when they land the little hop right before rolling. You can parry that exact moment, and if you don't time right, the damage isn't substantial enough to stun you.
With the staff of protection active you can parry any blockable attack because you take no stagger
Oh wow that's good to know im so used to my partner tanking for me ill have to try
Yeah that's good
All bosses are balanced to be beatable with lvl1 gear, tho it might be somewhat challenging ๐
If you upgrade you will have easier time of course.
anyone have a auto boar farm after the wall patch?
wall patch?
Patch that added walls in game?
guess what
what?
i reached the island with bonemass
and immedietly
2 wraiths 2 1 star draugrs
5 skeletons and 1 1 star leech
and 3 normal leeches
on me as soon as parked my boat on the island
sounds like a perfect warmup before you eventually have to go to ashlands
Gotta sail back and place a portal ASAP
Are there any earlier biomes next to the swamp which you can land at?
naked speed run usually works best
why ASAP?
your stuff doesn't despawn ๐ค
Portal at safer biome next to that swamp is good idea.
land 200-300 meter away, run naked, pickup stuff, run some more ๐
ok got my stuff back
wraiths were not there but they destroyed my iron boat
ts is so cooked
Wraiths are night spawns mostly so they despawn when night ends.
nah i took my stuff and ran
the boats materials would have despawned
ill see if its there or not later
cause now there is a draugr spawner and a abomination there
im kinda cooked there and now i tired placing my portal in the black forest near the swamp where the bonemass altar is
and got ambushed by a whole lot of greydrawfs and like a 1 star troll and a bear
my luck is cooked
I died 13 times yesterday thanks to 4 gjalls and several seeker soldiers. All in the space of three hours. Setbacks happen ๐
I strike a commandment. NO MORE RUNNING!
basically how i play already
Like no more pressing shift to sprint or no more running from situations?
out of stamina in combat? never heard of it, i never let myself drop below 40%
WHat wE DO in this lifetime echoes in eternity
Were you aware of stamina regen decreasing after regenerating stamina meter to half?
i am aware the regen speed is higher the lower you are relative to your max stamina
and it would be more accurate to say that i only let myself do actions that are essential to survival below 40%. dodgerolls, parries, jumping, maybe attacking, nothing greedy
for the most part i take it slow in combat, just walking around and picking safe openings.
-# works fantastic everywhere until you get to ashlands, ashlands hate that playstyle
-# at least last time i played. i was taking so long for each combat encounter that by the time i got done, i'd immediately get swarmed by the next
Yeah, I was not aware of it until some time ago, also the fact that holding block while regaining stamina decreases the regen to 80%.
yepp, i also avoid that...usually.
i didn't avoid it in that one bonemass with minimal gear demonstration video and i remember noticing that when watching the footage back and being like "why'd i do that, that just makes things harder on myself"
but i guess it was in the spirit of the video - not playing or gearing too optimally
That last part I was unaware of, can't say I have noticed it much even though I tend to turtle a lot in combat. Kill a few, back off and raise shield and let stamina regenerate...
Can make that a wee bit more efficient it seems
Kinda same: I didn't notice much difference, but it was ThreadMenace who informed me that when I posted one video on Valheim subreddit.
i learned it through the wiki way back
This video, to be specific: #memes-and-clips message
Have you posted that video anywhere?
about 3 ingame days before things despawns
unless it's a tombstone
or within the protective barrier
https://youtu.be/CxtQDgQx11c unlisted on youtube, would occasionally bring it up in convos about bonemass but it's outdated now. nothing special either way haha
- Rested, something you should never leave the house without.
- Level 4 root armor, the swamps' light armor set. Less defense than iron armor and no unique benefit against bonemass, since the mask's and mead's poison res don't stack. (50% res for mask, 75% for mead)
- Level 4 bronze mace on the first run, level 4 wooden club on the second.
- Clu...
Yeah, also since CtA parrying became also viable since it doesn't cost stamina anymore and perfect dodging returns some stamina.
Stamina management bit easier now.
just not certain if you can parry bonemass with max HP that low haha
...well, with a buckler you can for sure
Just was going to say that.
but yea, my perhaps slightly petty point with that demo was that bonemass is a really easy fight if you just pay attention to the lessons swamps try to teach you;
significant damage type resistances are a thing - taught by blobs and abominations, admittedly you can't certainly predict what bonemass is gonna resist until you encounter it
stamina management is important - you're always wet so you'll be way more aware of that
don't let yourself get overwhelmed by groups, keep an eye on your surroundings - bonemass spawns additional enemies and they start pretty far away from you
oh yea and poison, that's a pretty obvious one
Yeah, I remember first time when we encountered Bonemass with my group it became bit messy since we didn't google anything and weren't too aware what to expect. IIRC only 2 of us carried maces and I think only I carried poison meads from the start, which caused all the others except me dying few times.
my first bonemass was the complete opposite ๐
my buddy who had already fought it made it sound really scary so i was putting it off and ultimately overprepared...like really hard
it was probably the easiest boss on my first playthrough because of that, and to this day it hasn't been harder to me than even moder or the elder despite minimal preparation
i remember building a tall roof over the whole arena for that first fight (so we wouldn't be wet)
bonemass spawned on top of it and the first 2 minutes of the fight were just us all laughing as he tried to break it and get down to us
Some encounters become so fun with a good group, especially the first times.
We started new run with my group after CtA (and they haven't played Ashlands properly yet in our old world), they absolutely loved the addition of bears and last time we played before Christmas they got to figure out Viles the first time. One of their reaction was constant repeating "wtf is that".
man i gotta play again, last time i really did was when the bog witch update was in testing
Reaction of my friend getting spooked by bear (caution for loud noise
) #memes-and-clips message
Trinkets are also fun addition. ๐
ah we'll see when scar and i next get some completely free time~
The queen is no more
Sounds like regicide to me
Hey guys, new player here, already have 13.5 hours in 4 days
Welcome!
hii
i hate mountains
how come?
for two months im trying to beat game on permadeath
and for twice so far of my longest attempts, both i died in mountains because of first stupidty and now greed
first i got smoked by cultist wearing full root armor (very weak to fire vs them is not best thing to do)
and just now i lost another run
oof
bein cornered by 1* wolf and fenrir
i greeded to sneak in and out to get obsidian for workbench upgrade
night turned i didnt even noticed that, and both of them just suddently jumped at me
now im pissed waiting for 1.0
-# or ill start again once i cool off

You're doing better than I would. I guarantee if I even attempted a permadeath run, I'd die to the first beech tree in the meadows.
that ALMOST happend once, xD
oh no
I put so many restrictions on myself / high difficulty that a lot of my runs end in Black forest (think I've had one end to a tree)
My high difficulty nomadic run has kind of stagnated in black forest
Although if I can get well into bronze age I find it gets easier. Having access to the ocean in something else than a raft gives pretty busted gear, and so does swamp
A troll squished my cart
is it normal u get small lagg spikes in ashland?
Some people get pretty poor performance in ashlands yeah
ahh alr but i trought it was my pc there was doing something xD
mistland and other island no issues there
i tryed to adjust the graphic settings but no changes here :/
I mean probably a mix of unoptimized biome and suboptimal PC
i got 64 gb ram and 4060 rtx GPU and ryzen 7 i dont think its my pc ๐
can it be bc its a old valheim version world?
I'd say its unlikely, but idk
alr
I have a less powerful pc and I don't have a problem with Ashlands. I'm also not particularly sensitive to low fps or stutters though, and always play on minimum graphics
ahh alr i guess its the game then bc tryed other games and no issues there
or just the biomes
ty for helping out ๐
@lucid swift ask in #mods-discussion
ty
Uh don't get hit?
Apart from not dying lol
Is there a release date on the deep north yet?
not yet.
nope. dont even know if its this year
My friends and I have had pretty good performance in most of the game but we have been trying to make it through the ashlands now and there's so many lag spikes and two star chard warriors lag glitching and one-shotting you
Are gjall sometimes making less noise to anyone else?
Usually they're making their scary tripod noises long before getting close to them. But I had a gjall I didn't hear until I saw it in the mist. And then another actually sneak up on my village before setting things on fire.
Well, they don't always make the big horn sounding noise, sometimes they do that odd grunting noise too.
How do I take on the fort in ashlands without dying 30 times? I've got mist gear level 3, maxed shield, using frostner for spirit damage
I don't see any spawners to break either in the fort
Silver sword or mistwalker would be better than frostner in ashlands ๐ค
And if you dont mind a bit of cheesy tactics then you can pillar above the walls and snipe the spawners and enemies inside before going in yourself
why is there still no deep north biome
because it's a lot of working hours
Nvm died a few times but killed em. Thanks though
Because it's not ready yet.
Hi guys
I was wondering, is there any PVP oriented community ? I see no server nor players advertising for some
Is noone interested in it or is it just not balanced enough to be interesting ?
The pvp is very basic as it really is not the focus of the game, it is possible simply so friends can have a bit of fun if/when they want. ๐
So the second option would be pretty much correct ๐
But more than combat, their could be some limited time competitive speedrun or things like that no ? Idk the fighting and speedrunning have some good core mecanics but you're probably right
You can find few servers here and there that will be somewhat pvp oriented, but they are quite rare i would say. And usually dont last long.
The problem with pvp is that weapons damage values don't have armor in mind because enemies have no armor. So you just do like zero damage to your friends
Also if the player is even somewhat decent then every attack will be parried or rolled through
Make sense
I though like hard veteran would somehow get bored of the PVE sometime and go into more focused competitive / speedrunning gameplay, but it probably comes from the game design
Maybe a good mod might make it work someday
You could ask folks in #mods-discussion if there isnt one for something like this already ๐ค
But yeah, vanilla is very much not designed with pvp in mind ๐
Thanks for your answers =) Happy adventuring
You too!

How do I get lightning on berserker axes
You need to find gems that will let you enchant them ๐
Ahh iolite, got it ty
I cant get this fatass boat out of my shallow port and I need a crane to move it wtf
Cant even deconstruct this hoss wth
You have to break it
Wild
You can't disassemble a cart either
This is the SS Gigantic
oh just wait
It takes a nuke to break this b*tch
R u supposed to get the ceramic plates back after it breaks cause I didnt
They sink, did you break it in shallow water?
Yeah no where to be found
wsp team
Either no space or not enough carry weight in your inventory i am afraid
I thought that was the case but I couldnt find it after relieving some weight either
Oh, if you didnt get them initially they sunk to the sea floor.
But if oyu would have enough carry weight when you broke it you would pick them up immediately
Right, I got everything else but oh well I made more
Yeah, they are not that expensive really ๐
Those old counterstrike skills come in handy
ok it feels like fire damage is too much against the player. I can die in 5 seconds from getting hit by the fuling torch, not from the strike but because the fire did around 80 damage. I had the feather cape on which is very weak against fire. So seems like thats very unbalanced...
What armor do you have
Theres a reason its very weak to fire
had the eitr set
Wont save you
Resistances override weakness. If you have feather cape and can't confidently dodge fire damage sources, bring barley wine.
omg i hate mistlands lol
You'll get used to it
while partially true not all players are the same
If you play as mage and use protection staff it blocks all damage and you won't catch the fire until it breaks.
when is a sailing skill gunna be added tbh
Its kinda not needed really
it is
need versus want and logic is a funny thing
there's many many things you could say aren't needed doesn't mean not good
people get better at running ships
people get better at maneuvering and can row faster etc
magical numbers like you know how to catch the wind and waves better and can sail like 7% faster video game stuff
faster travel is definitely something i want
Portals
super duper ultra lame
The boat mechanics in valheim is fine imo
But if you want it that way you can always mod it in
they're so easy to craft plus you can't bring a bunch of materials through them
doesnt hurt
i made suggestion that sailing could help by improving tier 1 rowing speed, and/or add the ghost rowers. Many on this discord love to shoot down ideas because they can't think. Keep suggesting good ideas!
i think everything can always be improved period
see that would be cool, using blood for faster sailing
yes maybe something could be added to the meadows, yes there could be better ways to travel, yes certain mechanics could be improved, yes the drop rate of this thing could be tweaked, yes weather could be made this way in this location, yes this mob could get remodelled
especially for an early access game
being able to travel faster is a quality of life thing imo
thats something the game sorely lacks, QOL.
Arbalest makes hitting moder easier
new ideas and content is what brings in more sales. A dried up well can't keep a community growing
armour slots and trinket slots and cape slots and equipment slots would be so much more aesthetic, even if you had to sacrifice inventory slots for it, but maybe later on when there is so much STUFF you get all the time an upgrade to inventory slots would be warranted, especially mistlands-ashlands
everyone was so against bears, i was adamant they would be perfect for the game, and here they are, and is anyone really complaining.
well maybe idk but i haven't seen it
whats frustrating about the current progression is indeed lack of QoL stuff. The new unlock in ashlands is entirely pointless by changing the world settings...
its all fine and dandy that the devs do what they want with their own product but i mean....if you ignore the community and you want sales then good luck, terraria and re-logic are amazing for that, red constantly talks with players on twitter and reddit and adds features based on the community
Tbf they got their most sales during the first year when they sold over 12 mil copies (IIRC).
Over 14 mil till this day.
yeah, lightning in a bottle
which is why its sad and confusing to me they won't try and go for like a 2.0 update or anything like that or a sequel or dlc or expansion or ANYTHING like...
The game has always meant to have an end.
That would just be locking people out again
im aware, they also prioritized porting it over to other platforms
man.
taleworlds, they are known for mount and blade, they make mount and blade content, and thats it, its ongoing, i look forward to the installments and to dlcs.
imagine if they just stopped because they didn't feel like it anymore.
Someone want to start a world?
the counter to this is plenty of funding to add more features!
made some random unrelated game
Im going to the ashlands yo
if the far cry series ever stops too, i would be sad.
if iron gate made a fully unrelated game i'm not going to play it i'm almost certain about that, not out of spite but because THIS product is what i am interested in
You can try playing with folks in #1024264966712340510
Well i made it and died instantly great
thank god for modders in the entire gaming community, saving games from various developers strange decision making ๐ฅด
Now all my shits there and I gotta sail all the way back f my life
What happened
?
Three vultures broke my bubble as I was fumbling to get my frost shooter out and I died in three seconds of land fall no joke
I did have the eitr weave set tho so that probably didnt help. probably need the carpace on my first go with a food instead of stam
You could leave a backup portal on top of any of those spires near shore.
You havent lived until you die from your own jump cause you forget you arent wearing a feather cape anymore ๐
True ashlands mastery right there
I love the deaths that put a grin on my face
Howdy
I started recently a new playthrough long after call to arms and I see the powers were reworked. Is bonemasses still good to help in the mountains biome?
Yes, still useful, even after resistances were nerfed bit to grant slight resistances (from 50% to 25%). It also has block related bonuses now.
also game needs throwing weapons
Does it count using a round shield? My fighting style is parrying mostly
Parrying returns 10 stamina with bonemass active, and the 5 stamina is returned when blocking with anything
Should, I think. I've used other powers more personally.
Throwing rockies?
Pro-tip dont rush howling caveerns lol
Do i need anything from there? I prefer heavy set armor and cant recall if the caverns had anything good there
Ready to create my first base. Where is a great area to build?
fenris armour which is light
They can also get you a fist weapon
the jute is nice decoration
So nothing for me. Wasnt the boss location revealed there
are the queen fragments supposed to be impossible to find. 1/7 ruins so far had it
can be
replying to this dude
i explored the entirety of mistlands on one side of the map for it
Just bad rng
I defeated bonemass just now and I got invaded only 3 times
that rng is terrible, seems like you could have a world without all 9
Vegvisir for Moder can be found in frost caves or ruined stone towers on mountain surface.
Nice! Might still explore the caverns for some loot for the merchants
Still gotta firstly mine more iron to stock up before going for the mountains
Frost caves are one of my favorite dungeons in game. Not only for the loot and mats for one of my favorite armor sets and pair of weapons but also the aesthetics and enemies are cool.
And the music!
well only frost cave and crypts are sophisticated. everithign else is just some hole
You could also make one piece of Fenris armor and rest keep heavy for bit more movement speed and still good armor rate. Fenris coat alone grants +3% ms and frost resistance.
I have a soft spot in my soul for the burial chambers. It is where the valheim-ing started for me
Burial chambers? Infested mines? ๐ค
ha youre right ๐ I forgot those 2. seems its my bed time lmao
Will try, though I will have to keep my sanity as I am surely going to be bombarded by drakes as soon as I step in
Or chased by a 2 stars wolf... ah memories
Ahh, some people like to live dangerously and go by night.
I did that once, a big bad wolf (man) smelled my fear
Gierhaffa?
You'll find out what that is
If you didn't ||return the chest|| the raid won't trigger.
Noted
I havent I just killed him just now
It's one kind of ||miniboss||.
Still surprised that I wasnt raided more
So far only got invaded like 3 times
Once by greybeards, then trolls and one time early by meadows raid
It's basically 20% chance every 43 minutes for random raid to trigger. So
Greybeards huh? Did they FUS RO DAH?
-# ||Kidding.

I mistook the name, I shall perish for this dishonour
Jk, I had the game set in my home language for a bit cuz the translation is really funny to me
So i forgor the correct english name
Ah, fair enough, they're greydwarves.
Sometimes I wish that if the enemy of a biome would see you wearing armor from the next biome they would leave you alone
Somekind of "lets not mess with that guy"
And if u wanna farm them for drops u still have to use the older sets
Thats a cool idea ๐
why the fuck does it take so damn long to tame a lox'
hey guys has anyone been having trouble with fishing
ive been trying to fish but it doesnt seem to be working
idk maybe im not doing it right? i did just come back from like a 6 month break
are there fist weapons for late game?
also anyone else feel like cuz different areas have enemies with different weaknesses and you are making new weapons anyway you HAVE to choose accordingly so you can never stick with stuff you like
Yes and no, but also I am playing w/ a party of 3 and some of them make up for the lack of damage type. For a solo run I can see that becoming an issue.
yeah I would nerf the resistances/weaknesses across the board
First Draugr raid on my base. Everything left untouched except for my boars lol
Nope. So far my atgeir+axe combo works pretty well
