i didn't realize the campfire had that effect.
fields of fire intensify
Well this has been a glorious shine on my day. I'mma go nibble some lunch. lovely chatting with yall ;)
Whilst leveling elemental magic would an aoe spell hitting multiple targets grant multiple exp?
Im guessing a group of TWIG is the current meta for elemental leveling?
i don't think so
most of things that does aoe damage like in case stage breaker does consider it 1 hit still
So ice staff is the way to go?
but haven't tested for very long
kinda yea
i recommed to see
EmmaTpotato on yt she always do alot of valheim test
Just royally screwed myself. Died by a body pile in the swamp as the Abomination spawned right there
Going to be fun getting that stuff back!
Tag it with an arrow and lure it away
Is there a black forest nearby? Trolls will fight the abomination
Nope, only border with meadows
Iโm going to pop Eikthyrโs power and hope for the best ๐
bring some necks or boars behind you to work as distraction xD
Could work for a sec
ice staff isnt much better either. They all give different exp rates
i think i made a valheim-style meal/feast irl accidentally
wasn't going for it but hey it would fit right into the game
i made a big wooden tray of spiced sausage, stuffed mushrooms and vegetable soup
Sounds good! Send me some!
What staff would be best to level with? I'm level 23 magic and in ashlands
it's gonna get cold and the shrooms must all be eaten today
two health foods and one stamina
(stuffed shrooms are filled with cheese and wrapped in bacon)
You're looking to level elemental magic? trap a stone golem in a pit and use the frost staff.
Or shoot at TWIG, much easier now.
yeah, but it's 1/3. I haven't built a twig yet.
If I'm going to grind, I might as well maximize the benefit by hitting a real enemy. That's why I built a greydwarf farm and draugr farm again this playthrough.
IIRC shooting/hitting TWIG grants full xp, archery target is what grants less.
It's only the target.
I've been leveling some skills with TWIG and it's as fast as normally against enemy mobs.
I have been out of the loop since finishing Ashlands, but what's the word? my Group is waiting for 1.0 for another full playthrough. Any news? or at least educated guesses? I'm feeling the itch again
Call to Arms update was added during September. It added some new things in earlier biomes and added new mechanic for combat, plus improved the combat on slopes and much more.
Deep North is on it's way, but there is no official timeline for the release. Some people guess it releasing in 2026, but unless Iron Gate themselves confirm that, it will still remain as guess.

That's not so bad, I'll take a look thank you!
my WIFI's been out for a day but I came across 2 leviathans beside each other right off the shore lol are they even rare?
Not rare. Just random.
YouTube videos be lying then man ive heard there 1% but idk
YouTube people who focus on content for clicks are a bad source of information?
I am shocked, SHOCKED at this revelation.
lmaooo
Shooketh even.
my own fault for believing tbh
Well at least we got it all sorted for you today ๐ ๐
Most I have personally ever seen in a cluster is 4.
I would absolutely love that need some chitin.
You need chitin until you build the harpoon and the knife, beyond that is has (sadly) zero use ๐
those 2 sadly didnt provide enough
Idk if I'm going to use knives that harpoon on the other hand
need it for my industrial animal farm
I support this if you are giving them space to roam.
If you're using the animal cruelty spawning boxes then I platonically hate you ๐
Thatโs one of my favorite uses for the Valheim Cuisine mod. You can extract barnacles from chitin and cook them
idk what those are but I make little barns for them all
It was literally in response to โoutside of that chitin is uselessโ but ok ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Some people trap boars in very, very small boxes and put them at the top of towers so they cannot move and just infinitely spawn out other boars that fall from the tower.
idk about that one I'm ethical
๐ซ
Don't worry bro it'll get more uses in the ocean biome update coming this century
We aren't related.
Cool story bro
Please stop.
No thank you, I will refer to people with generalized terms whenever I want to
The world's changing, best start adapting
Someone directly and politely asks you to stop and that's your reply?
Correct, we are online, I simply don't care
...
Actually I wouldn't care in real life either about someone complaining about getting called bro
I'd probably just laugh at the occasion
Went on a trip to ashlands 2 days ago and I had 4 in a cluster spawn, so they have some pretty weird spawning mechanics
It's even worse that they're entities so I typically crash into them because they don't render in time for me to react
I try and keep my render distance on 60 I can see them pretty far ahead of me In a boat
my gpu will hit 80celcius lol cant do it sadly
I'd increase it but, just for the sake of dodging the most useless mob in existence? Nahh
I'll take extra performance lol
Get that 10 Kelvin cooling system
everything is med for me except draw distance/level detail its high
I just need a new computer in general its 10yrs old
๐ด
Good thing you can remember that
I haven't looked at my graphics settings since first playing the game
I just hoped in settings lol I'm playing rn
Ah gotcha
the menu to this game is uncapped so if you wanna do some performance tests hop in that never seen my temps reach what they hit before.
I have genuinely never looked at the temperature of anything in my computer ๐
that's a bit concerning but again my stuff is old your setups prob ment
Got to the point that I had to apply new thermal paste to the GPU
I have a water cooling system, so never have to worry about anything but leaks.
I've had this for 4 years? Cranked like $4400 into it because it was my first new-new PC.
And it has been able to run everything I have thrown at it without so much as a stutter. So I've had no reason to check temps ๐คทโโ๏ธ
My laptop is a different story, but I also only use it when on trips.
Back to game though. Following my own recommendation and I speed-ran Elder before even touching Bronze so I can use his updated mining power for that.
nice mines a preowned cyber power I got from a pawnshop for 400$
Valid. I am a lucky case because I had my $10k discharge bonus from the service. So I was allowed to splurge a bit on something I knew I'd be using for a decade+.
Nice if you're solo but in practice it won't help me much when trying to distinguish between my own performance issues and server lag from my friend's internet dying while he hosts the server
yea my internet is wild with friends while playing we cant sail together due to my boat hitting a wave and flying in the sky.
I've seen so many funny things lol, like a hare running towards me and then floating up into the air for several seconds
Everything turns into a hot air balloon when the server starts lagging
ive been playing for maybe 6 days now im at bonemass currently or oogly boogly idk
I got my first credit card to pay for my first good PC, and just paid it off over time. It was paid for fairly quickly because it became my only extra expense.
Those differences in internet and systems can really screw things up on shared servers.
Price to pay for playing with friends I guess
Yep.
I might do that to be honest I'm ok credit wise
If your in the states Costco has some really good systems for barely more than I could build my own for.
It can be very much worth it, ultimately it helped my credit score, and I navigated credit carefully from then on.
Ill defiantly look into it I need an upgrade bad appreciate the advice.
Not to worry! Hopefully it works out.
Does anyone else actively try to keep their weapon skills even?
Like I just got Spears to 25 so now I'm only using Axe/Club until those are the same level.
I do that, I enjoy training up lesser trained skills during smelting & mead brewing. It's just nice to have less hangups when switching to a different weapon.
pump failures
I do that with magic which I just started playing with to see what the hype is about, I have them at 44 for blood and 42 for elemental, so far it seems really bad at single target damage, it takes forever to kill a gjall or seeker soldier
Trader on starting island let's gooooooo.
Lately I had an idea that the three traders would have an expanding inventory based on what the players has cleared in term of biomes. Basically randomly selling a limited amount of materials from prior biomes, which refreshes on a regular interval.
Yeah not great against weak points
Ok so spears' attack speed is very noticeable when dodging Greydwarf Brutes.
Because if I try to use club or axe, if I roll then attack they will hit me with there second attack every time due to how slow those weapons are.
With spear, I can roll, attack, and be ready to roll again without any issues.
Jump back instead of roll so you can begin your attack sooner
You jumpers and your jumping. ๐
Was on a multi-day exploration run mapping my island. Shield had been broken and ran into a 2-star brute when the only foods I had were honey and berries. So I was dodging my ass off ๐
When Deep North?
When it is ready.
[laughs in buckler parry]
My preference as well.
Was broken in this particular instance though ๐
Wondering how much leveling other weapons will cost me though.
Last run I had spears at 50 by the time I hit mountain.
Currently they are sitting at 26 while I work on clubs/axes.
And when I have the bronze to make the sword it will take even more skill time away before I can get back to my beloved.
hiya
What I dont like with spears is that at some point, I feel like everything is resistant to them.
At least the ask set gives a bonus to piercing weapons, but it doesnt offset the resistances this "everything" has
I feel this, what I want to test out is the mountain trinket because with their high attack speed you'd be able to keep very decent uptime on that bonus.
Combine it with the Ask set and you've negated resistance almost entirely.
Also I think spears can hit stuff that are lower than you now?
Yeah, the hit box update helped them a lot.
Can hit the draugr spawners. ๐ค
I almost exclusively use battleaxes or greatswords for spawners because of the no MtP ๐
Yeah but the viable option without the need to throw the spear at them.
just found a merchant
it has a bag symbol
I know I was talking about not listening to yt videos but I discovered you can boat by the shore and if its 300 meters away it will tag it, and well it worked lol
It spawns at 300m whether you are boating or running.
yea lol of course
No boating skill, so better to run ๐
Yeah, each trader have 10 possible spawn points and when one point gets into the render area (approx 300-400m radius from player) the trader will spawn on that location and shuts off the other spawn points of that trader.
that was explained in the video aswell but thank you
I also remembered to bring portal materials
you don't need portal materials if you can't use portals ๐
this is one of the first games I've played that let you have access to portals super early
There are some good YT channels for Valheim content like Embr, she's good.
not sure what that means but ig
@worldly oxide hi
thats who it was to lol
that you should come to the dark side and disable portals ๐
I'm joking, of course, you should at least get one playthrough normally
No portal is fine.
No map is a no-no.
absolutely not
I honestly find the map annoying and distracting, because if it's there I keep looking at it instead of looking at my surroundings
I was thinking of what to say cause that's so stupid bro navigating is difficult already.
I look at the map maybe once per in-game day. Not sure why you would need to constantly reference it ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I look at it a lot aswell lol
then I discovered theres buttons to zoom in and out of it
my eyes just fall on it constantly, because it's there
there's no way you don't give the minimap a glimpse every now and then
I thought you ment pressing m
looking at the map once every 30 minutes sounds quite unrealistic tbh
I look at it constantly
btw|| odin|| keeps appearing a lot in my world should I be concerned.
not at all, because he has a chance to spawn and you might just be rolling well to have him spawn constantly
but aside from staring at you, he does nothing
ok bro's scary the first time I saw him I ran the other way thought it was the grim reaper
I shot an arrow at him the first time ๐
I was hoping in some rare drop or something
I tried that just like hitting a brick wall
and that's how he lost his eye... ๐น
๐ญ
greatswords dont have multi hit penalties?
despite that, he didn't learn the lesson and keeps appearing... but he's old, it's understandable
wiki says no
also im reading on krom
apparently they are slower. Thats kind of silly
I mean greatswords are slower than battleaxes
first hit is faster tho
No it isn't.
There's a Forsaken power and a mead that can extend it.
not worth imo
Im just saying, 450 aint the max
understandable
Do some fishing, very easy to have a bucket of troll mead for higher weight when doing specific tasks.
just bought a fishing rod to
Oh I don't let myself buy those ๐
I force myself to find one in the mountains.
Same way I will never buy eggs as they are at the bottom of Sealed Tower, so that is what I force for acquiring.
im only at bonemass rn
If I knew about the one in the mountains I might have waited
Fair.
I hate being the kind of person to rage-restart the game when large hardships are foisted upon me and my boars D:
I don't know why it's less intimidating to restart the game than to fix whatever-the-hell-is-wrong in the current world :/
Anyone wanna give advice for best dedicated server? for a group of people sharing?
there was one host along time ago that had an ez way to share cost but i cant remember
Have you checked in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202550119191412736 yet?
Someone in there might know.
My assumption is that whenever something goes wrong and you need to rebuild your home base from whatever, you have this instinctive need to repair it exactly as it once was and that seems more complicated than starting over which does not requires you to abide with a preexisting "blueprint".
Fighting a troll, shaman shows up to heal him -- no big deal, got this
SUDDENLY TWO-STAR BEAR SWIPE
๐
oh hell naw guys why is the first boss so hard to find
I dont remember it being so difficult wth
The bird literally sits on top of the stone that points to where Eikthyr is before you even leave the opening circle.
bruh I toggled the bird off before starting cause i remember when playing it was really annoying
Self-inflicted issue. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
The birds explain how the game works.
Is there any way to get the wolves on the mountain next to me to not be so noisy aside from spamming buildings until they stop spawning? Like turning down some setting or something?
still, initial spawn has the rock that tells you where the first boss is
still what?
The point where you start the game, the spawn area, with the big stones
it has a rock that tells you where the boss is
well I clearly didnt see it if I was searching for it?
likely, thats why im telling you where it is
hot dang, I didnt know draugr elites could spawn with stars!
They don't do it a lot, fortunately.
Tonight I found 3 Draugr Villages and my first skeleton spawner/arena. All in the same meadows. That is highly unusual. At least I will have plenty of intestines for going into the swamps I've also found.
Found Hildir as well, but not the other two.
when hitting enemies, do you gain xp per swing or do you get more if one swing hits multiple enemies?
What is the objective of Valheim with respect to Lore. I understand that We kill bosses to access the next biom and will eventually kill the last boss in DN but why? To what end?
kill odin's enemies to ascend to valhalla
Ok letโs hope the lore stones in DN and the ending finally piece it all together)
Share seed?
Also, morgen' gjall
mornin gjall
turns out the fenring trophy hand thing is really fun for prank decorating
Whats everyones go to ways to deal with the new big bears?
Slash weapon.
Either letting them taste their own medicine (paws) or axe.
Yeh the big trouble is killing the first couple of em to get paw weapons, flint knife / axe is lousy and takes forever, like arrowing down a troll but in constant risk of close quarters one shotting
Shield and sword
i hit it until it dies
if you're a gamer you can build a box as it attacks and then place a camp fire under it
Just stand on a rock and spam campfires.
Boxing and campfires cheese is so lame
Enabling god mode is probably easier if ur gonna play like that
their lunge swipe attack is weak, you can parry a 1 star bear with a wooden shield if you have 3 health foods and then get in 3 crits with a flint axe.
if youโre a gamer you can kill it normal
If youโre a gamer you can kill it blindfolded
it's generally "if you hit at least one enemy per attack you get a fixed amount of exp", so hitting multiple ones doesn't reward you more exp (which I'm not a fan of, because hitting more enemies is objectively harder and more dangerous).
And sure, most weapons are effectively single-target weapons, but you can hit more than one enemy if you position yourself well (I did it with both atgeir and spears, but it's hard to get the angle right), but swords is the most egregious example of how the system doesn't work: you get no penalty for hitting more enemies, but at that point it's better to just hit them one at a time if you care more about the skill
true actually
Deadass and they do it on the second easiest boss in the game
It's not like its HARD
All bosses are not hard ๐
Not for you.
They run away the moment you even start sneezing.
But not all player are that skilled yet.
Show up to the bosses without wearing armor and they'll think you're scales and run away

Damn I thought the smirk indicated sarcasm oh well
Yes obviously
I found it! It took scouring every scrap of land in the biome, but i finally found the elusive ||turnip seed||
Free loot
yeah, like trolls, they can be vexingly commonplace, especially in narrow or small black forests.
Bears spawn more frequently than trolls but have the same spawn limit
they have a 15m hearing limit so they're easier to avoid than trolls
the game does a really good job on ensuring that there is at least one troll nearby. it can be tricky to pinpoint, but one thing i've come to notice when trollhunting is that it is best to spiral out from that location, because another one is likely to spawn just over the hill.
there have been times when I've walked through around two hundred meters of black forest and killed three trolls along the way.
with some maps, running into a troll is inevitable, while with others, it takes a skilled tracker to find even one.
by the look of things, bears follow a similar spawning rule.
Congratulations Iโm still out there looking
I was so close to having to visit a second swamp to find it ;-;
to be fair, the swamp i first arrived to was a bunch of shoreline ribbons
(feels the urge to plug the old wisdom) most dangerous place in the world is a swamp pinnensula.
i don't have the tools for it
i pelted one with fire and flint arrows and only got it down to 3/4 hp
granted I was running for my damn life for most of it
They resist pierce so bows aren't good, even with fire arrows you're dealing a lot of pierce
also I went back to the copper deposit and the bear came back
Use an upgraded flint axe
an AXE??
Slash is best for them
Bite: 55 Pierce Claws: 50 Slash, 40 Chop Swipe: 25 Slash, 40 Chop Slam: 50 Blunt, 40 Chop, 40 Pickaxe
chop and pickaxe don't damage players
They avoid fire too, if you hold a torch they'll be less aggressive
how much does leather affect?
Bears will avoid fire, they will run away if they get within 3 meters of a fire source. They will still attack players holding a Torch, but they will alter the attack direction at the last moment, making many attacks miss.
If armor is less than half of damage taken (which it will be here), just subtract armor from the damage
hmmm
one moment
Just use flint axe and the wood shield, if you feel unsafe or low on hp swap the shield to a torch
i have 7 armor what does that do
-7 damage to all of these attacks
Here's how armor works https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Damage_mechanics#Armor
The swipe attacks can be parried even with wooden shield.
god damn greydwarves
i died
where did the bear go?
did it despawn?
i had my bed really close
got the bear to less than 1/2 hp
so where did the bear go? @nocturne wolf
Most creatures don't despawn, a bear will only despawn if it spawned at night and it is now day
Some mobs try return to the place they spawned in.
I was vexed to discover that I would have never found one star wolves no matter how far i went to search the mountain biomes, since they can only spawn at night, and will - unless penned and fed - vanish in the morning.
Being in the habit of sleeping whenever possible, that is.
everything is better with fire
except maybe houses.
depends on the architect
"The only walls i build are walls of fire"
not sure if this is known but female vikings using the bear set are basically naked in the chest area
Oh it is known.
am i the only one who thinks it would genuinely look better with some sort of coverage?
โThatโs not a bug, itโs a feature.โ Also why I skipped the bear armor ๐น
is that what they said lmao
Iโm paraphrasing for comedic value
ah i see
like bro i like boobs as much as the next bloke but i feel like the set would look more complete otherwise
Hey grugs
yooo, anyone got some advice for me trying to host a valheim game on a server for the 1st time?
Is it dedicated server?
umm, im not sure what you mean
i want to find a site to host me and friends to play on a valheim world for 2 months
So 3rd party to host your world, which is dedicated server.
People in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202550119191412736 might be able to provide info for that.
awesome thx
if i dont have a pc laying around, should i pay for a hoster or do that on my main pc?would there be a performance hit?
It feels awesome to finally have a person to play with, after more than a year of looking
it depends on your pc, anything modern and slightly above the average pc would do fine.
is there a hoster with a one day trial or something
i've always hosted locally
the last setup i ran a dedicated server on while playing at the same time was a 7700k / 1080 ti/ 64 gb ram pc
how much stone should i bring with me to raid a fortress?
Eh, you dont really need any
Why do you need stone to raid a fortress?
Catapult ammo?
Ah, i use rams when i actually want to destroy the gates ๐
ROCK
Stack of 50 should be enough.
I've heard the best way to get inside is to use a hoe to raise ground against the walls. That requires stone
It's a great way to do it and not destroy gates, etc...
Especially if you want to use it for yourself.
I probably should take one for personal use. My current ashlands base is just some guasten walls slapped up haphazardly around a dwarfs castle next to where I first made landfall
A hoe and stones will certainly get you inside but then you are very much in the open, attacked from all sides and in range of ballista's. I find it safer to get in through the wall or door as intented as you create a choke point for them giving you the advantage
How does one unlock the schematics for ballista and rams?
flametal and ashwood for the ram
Oh, I must have it already
you need the cog thing too, I think
What cog thing?
nvm I was wrong for the ram
Cog from Skuggs in fortresses, they unlock catapult.
Ballista is Mistlands tier, have you crafted mechanical springs?
found another merchant sailing along the shore it has a culdron symbol
imma hold off for now though looks like it goes into the plains biome def not ready yet
3 merchants.
Bag, Shirt, Cauldron.
Cauldron is in the Swamp.
I dont whant the bog witch rip
atleast its close I seen the spawn rates and stuff I feel like im getting lucky
Big witch wants you
I feel for the last one though it wont be the case
no im cooked
In a cauldron over low heat
I also learned you can literally skip iron and go straight to silver
without killing ||bonemass||
stagbreaker is the best tool ever
yea idk
Iron is something you never stop needing.
So skipping it is... Just delaying it more than anything.
I see I see
Also you're skipping the ability to build with stone, skipping the heavy meat hook cooking rack, skipping the prep table and all the foods that unlocks.
well Im still going to kill him lol and ive been mining iron
OH THE STONE TABLE omg
I never built it now I see im going to
It gives you way more build options and something to do with all the stone you got from mining copper ๐
And ironwood beams have the highest structural points in the game.
Been wanting to build with stone for a while never thought about it though
I use the iron beams for my bee farms
Segue: shout out to the new Elder power.
I made it through the entire bronze age in less than 2 days.
That's cultivater, buckler, pickaxe, mace, spear, axe, and bronze armor all at rank 3.
Mining bonus is a fking BEAST at that stage of the game.
I have enough to build the atgeir and sword as well, just wanted to get into iron so I am saving the 52 extra bronze for Mistlands because Krom.
(2 irl days, not game days ofc)
My level of commitment in this game is horrid
I must've reached bronze like 20 times by now and iron only once ๐
How are fist weapons now?
I noticed there's none for the last few biomes..
I really wish weapons were more consistent across biomes, like no early two-hand swords
Fists are fine.
And not having every weapon in every biome is by design.
Fists do fall off by Ashlands though given the last weapon for them is Plains.
Likely they add a final fist weapon in DN. But who knows ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Well to be fair, I would be surprised if fist weapons had much reach ๐ค
I mean they have wolverine claws.
Theyโre pretty fast, and I think they build stagger decently well?
Like I don't know how the perform against things you would want to reach and stagger from a mace against or something.
When I'm fighting wolves, getting a hit before they get close enough to attack basically negates them completely
Especially with the frost hammer
I havenโt used them too much really, I used the fenris claws a fair bit. They did pretty well for me even into Mistlands.
Yeah I wouldn't want to get invested using fists just to have them fall off and not have any new cool variations:/
That really sucks. Even if there is one in the final biome, you're still just not getting anything new and cool for a while
Yeah I feel that. Fist weapons have a pretty limited pool of weapons. More of niche thing imo
Blocking with them is decent actually. Just doesn't hold up in later biomes.
They work pretty well up to Plains.
Mistlands is where they drop off a bit and Ashlands they aren't good.
First one for them is in BF, upgrade in Mountain, final in Plains.
But a lot of the joy is actually getting new weapons.
The visuals and other upgrades is awesome across biomes.
Watching your sword and mace go from a bundle of sticks, to a crude weapon, to something workable, to a beautiful work of silver, and so on, is awesome
Bear Paws to Wolverine Claws to Undead Bear Manidbles is pretty cool tbh
But then you could have insect Pinchers or mandibles, demonic bone shards, all kinds of cool things
Or actually metal
Having your fists glow with a different types of upgrades in the fire lands would be amazing
they delete mobs disgustingly fast, their stagger is strong if you kick, but yeah you cant block much
FIRElands?
Banish this heathen.
When you're trying to carefully align a build when standing on a ladder and your character starts gliding at the minimal possible pace...
But damn they nice.
2 hit combo, every second hit deals 2x weapon damage, kick secondary has 6x stagger multiplier, so quite comfortable to stagger even starred fuling berserkers.
Having poison claws in mistlands would make more sense than the poison axe
(and they have high enough parrying, so instead of using reach to get the 1st hit, you can start with a parry and follow up with a lot of dmg)
You're making me want to start over with fists
(i said that, but i dont use them)
Hey guys Iโm new here! Just wanted to introduce myself and say that after discovering Valheim 4 days ago, I literally couldnโt not be more in love with the game. Itโs f***ing amazing. Also whatโs the best way to find people to play with? I assume thereโs a specific channel for that..
Welcome!
Thanks raindancer! ๐
Welcome! You can join other players here https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510

Also, side question, is this discord channel run by the dev team or fans?
Purple names = the devs.
FEAR ME @gray sand

๐น๐๐ชฆ gotchya ๐@gray sand
lmao an hour after finding the bog witch I have found my final merchant
sailing is to fun bro reminds me of sea of thieves just less task intensive
Theft is a crime ๐
solo slooping is goated though
HUH?
who stole what
btw anyone have some tips to build/remove things in water I'm building a boat dock and these huge rocks underwater are pissing me off.
Use Q to switch your snapping point.
Need to use devcommands debugmode, then press Z to fly and ignore water to be able to mine under it.
Its incredibly tedious but you might be able to remove them during a storm
bro thats actually genius
its right along my shore line to it might work
Waves go way up, then they go way down. When they're down if the rock is shallow enough you might be able to get a pickaxe swing on it
I will try it lol thank you so much
Glad I could help ๐ post some screenshots if it works out
I used the storm to mine out some rocks on my dock so I could place a lighthouse. It was stressful and I nearly drown, but I got the job done
@rich matrix pinned in this channel you will find the food sheet and the blocking sheet if you need informational resources.
Try playing on a server hosted by your friend who has garbage internet
Then the waves go way up, and then they keep going way up
Suddenly you're playing escape the flood on your screen instead of valheim
Go ahead! ๐
I feel like raids are bugged in my world.
Because I am on day 40 and have yet to have a single one (prepping to kill Bonemass)..
@stoic gust that technically should be in #mods-screenshots
my bad, i missed that channel
No worries! ๐
Just found it, thank you ๐ ๐
Any questions, feel free to ping me!
is 30 magic skill signifiantly different from 29?
No
quick question: can you block/parry attacks from bears?
absolutely
Their weaker attacks can be parried even with wooden shield and meadows tier foods, but their stronger attacks require more.
just realized my worlds been set to easy for 2 days rip I do it to balance when my freind joins
makes the game 5x harder for no reason
wow look another person joined were gonna give enemy's a huge health pool now (balancing) no idiotic
enemy hp pool only increases when other players are nearby
it does not feel like that yet again we are by eachother a lot
each players add 30% hp to nearby enemies
so, in theory, enemies should go down faster
how rare are bear head drops? I just killed a 1-star and it didn't drop one :(
10%
If you made your world after the update and just need one for the hat, Haldor has one.
Who?
Trader, black forest.
Did you make your world after the combat update?
i just made it a few days ago
so probably?
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Haldor i don't see a bear head listed?
Ok, so when you find Haldor, he has a bear rug on the ground next to him.
Destroy it for your free bear trophy.
Probably unintended, but it is very useful ๐ As a guaranteed way to be able to complete the set.
Can thank me for finding that one out ๐
First hitbox issue since the update:
If using battleaxe, if you chop a birch tree down and are level with the log, you cannot hit it. You just swing right over it.
I run into that even with axes. If its not at the right elevation in relation to you, you won't hit it. You have to roll it to be higher or even lower. Been having that problem in my current solo play through with the bronze axe. It looks like I should be able to hit it, but I won't.
Its not a new issue either. Its something that has existed for years.
Birch logs just too thin ๐
did you know if you click and hold on the red circle on the map while you are being raided, the exclamation mark in the middle of it changes size?
or if you hold any button while you are being raided actually
wait what i got no skill drain for 10 minutes after killing a fuling?
did you die
@fossil delta allo where seed
ngl would be cool if you got the buff if you survived with less than 1 health.
or less than 1% of your total health
cu9iXZk8bz
Tyvm bro, u give me reason to log valheim again
not to the fuling no. I had died a little more than 10 minutes before I killed the fuling though
it's a visual bug: the icon reappears under certain conditions (which I can't seem to identify) but your skills can go down if you die again
at first I thought it reappears when you get near the place you died before, but it also randomly reappears where I didn't die at all, so I'm not sure what's going on there
Anyone got word how close we are to the North Pole biome update? Hopefully by winter or early next year its done
i wanted to make a small outpost for swamp adventures but i went a little overboard and now i got a big base and plans on replicating it in the swamp how do i stop myself, also are stone elevated structures safe in the swamp or will they be destroyed?
Why should you stop yourself? Build away I say! By "stone elevated" I presume you mean you have raised ground a bit to build on. You will get occasional wraiths flying over the walls, and draugr archers will probably try and shoot out torches and so on, so occasional repairs will be necessary, but there's nothing that will raze a base to the ground if you just make sure they can't walk up to the walls...
no i meant stone pillars and then arches and then building with even more stone!!! :D but maybe raising the ground a little bit
prefer not to though, to keep it a bit natural
My method for that kinda thing is to raise a very narrow spike of ground and enclose it in stone to make it look better. Mobs can destroy the stone of course, but that is quickly repaired, while the structure on top remains sound thanks to the core out of raised ground.
all stone or wood CAN be destroyed im not sure what you mean. an abominatioins has lots of good building destroying aoe moves, but so do trolls and lox there's nothing that special about swamp
By the way, when building in the swamp I tend to base my builds around the petrified trees - those are indestructible. ๐
i posted my base that i want to replicate in the swamp in #building-screenshots
ofcourse not exactly the same way but this is more as a blueprint and to find the right ways to do things
Has anyone ever built a base in the swamp? I never see people do this, it's like the most unpopular biome
Players have built in the biome
I have never had my main base in the swamp, mostly because by the time I get there I have usually already established a core base. So when I find a major swamp with many crypts I'll make an outpost with some storage, repairs and resting capacity. This from a no-portals perspective, with portals all that's needed is space enough for a portal really.
I have a tree house in the swamp located right next to the bog witch to this day it still stands because it is built into one of those ancient trees that can't be cut down.
Tree house outposts are great for swamps. And then you empty all crypts, load up boat and never return
There is no stopping it now. EMBRACE IT
Also swamp bases are perfect for spooky vibe builds like haunted castles etc
Only drawback is that since the petrified trees can't be knocked down you need to do a fair bit of exploring to find a good location that fits your plans...
i have noticed enemies are less likely to attack my walls if there is some sort of entrance so i am gonna try to build around that
current plan is, make small treehouse for portal, gather loads of stone, bring stone in through portal, then starting the building
oh how would i love to have fluid simulation in this game so I'd have a reason to build Roman aqueducts
considering tar draining is a pseudo fluid simulation already
(is it thought? im not 100% sure how it works internally)
yeah that would be amazing! sadly i think they would have to change a lot for that, then again, maybe tar shows its possible i haven't accessed the plains yet i don't know how it looks like in person lol
I have yet to find a swamp with enough crypts to make a base there
A friend has found over 20 once, i never found more than 5 in a single swamp
I didnt waste much time farming iron anyway, im not gonna make every piece of upgraded iron gear
holy shit trolls are terrifying
i got one down to half health by kiting it and hitting it with fire arrows and then it escaped the trees and started chasing me
then as per usual, greydwarves, greylings, and boars decided it was a good time to attack me
greydwarves are so annoying man I just wannna fight the troll
okay I managed to run away and kill the greydwarves, returned to the troll and pelted it with flint arrows
I know it's not actually so dangerous now that i've upgraded my armour but it's so imposing
omg now a bear and another troll are chasing me
๐ญ
check out this island
Holy eureka
My personal record is about 36. Never seen something like that since
quick question, is it normal for a troll to respawn in the same place?
because there was a troll in the same spot twice
I returned after killing one and there was another
HE RESPAWNED IN THE SAME SPOT AGAIN
Yes, it can happen. The map has spawn points.
damn
I swear, these mobs sometimes make no sense: from time to time they literally fake me by turning away from me (as if running/repositioning themselves) but they quickly start an attack animation right after... I died twice already because of that, and I can't even predict that in any way unless I'm always standing still without attacking...
and in normal circumstances that's not a big deal, but losing all your skills in hardcore because of terrible visual cues is just unfair
honestly, I noticed it on every mob, more or less, but bigger ones tend to do it more often
hmm, so you're thinking actual AI issues, not like fire avoidance.
yes
i almost killed a bear and then it ran into the water and despawned??
Could it be skill issue?
I haven't noticed an issue in my current game. Only mob I can't figure it's attack pattern is lox.
I can't time my parries on them yet.
in that regard bears are the "buggiest" because you can't predict what they will do if you're holding a torch with 100% accuracy
like, one bear doesn't attack you even once before you kill it, while others decide to go for an attack every 10 seconds even if you have a torch
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++.....................................................................................................................
Sorry, cat decided to walk over keyboard
why bother with the torch then? you can parry them with a buckler.
or literally walk to the side to avoid their attacks.
what if I wanna build exactly where the bear decided to loiter?
and that's beyond the point I brought up anyway
I agree with you in one sense. The timing and frequency of bear attacks is pretty good at being random.
I had a bear perfectly utilize it's bite attack to throw in a mixup, and it almost killed me. It was doing swipes and stomps only for the entire fight, then I learned it could bite and hit 3HP while staggered.
Is bro getting washed by a bear?
wow found 2 rocks in a small area, i thought they were rare? anyway 2 more pet rocks :D
Using spear in mountains to snipe drakes and idk what people see as the issue ๐คทโโ๏ธ
one miss and youre never seein that spear again
Yeah but when they fly up to you their wings are fully spread so you have to like... try to miss a target that wide.
And if not confident, just position so you're always throwing toward the mountain.
iโm just so pleased youโre using battleaxe and spear โบ๏ธ truly the greatest weapon combination
wolves?
ooo free freeze glands
Not that any hat could ever replace the dverger circlet
smh
Iโll take Fenris hood over the circlet
Heresy.
Fenris set with feather cape? Perfection
NO CAPES!
Also Fenris set was one of the armors that made me switch to not having a cape ๐
Why?
Because of how awesome it looks with no cape?
Better is subjecthive.
Also the added effect crutch*.
You telling me you donโt like the effect it gives?
/nick Kalam
Not at all, lmao ๐
How many people you seen die to "Oh I thought I had the cape on so I jumped."
None of that existed before it was added.
Iโve never experienced that, because I donโt use it as a crutch lol
You are the exception, not the rule.
Thatโs skill issue, not the capeโs fault
Only time I ever wear capes now is when I have to go into the mountain.
Which do you wear? Wolf?
I havenโt been to Ashlands, so donโt know capes from there
ok this games parrying is awesome
Eh, whichever one is closest and has the frost resist. (Wolf/Lox/Feather)
stone golem got shit on
Take it back off when I am done with mountain.
Ash cape is nuts though with the attack stamina cost reduction.
Can one equip items while falling? I havenโt tried it
๐คทโโ๏ธ
spoilers
Probably not fast enough.
Still blows my mind that people canโt tell if they have their cape equipped, in a third person pov
Meet more people, be surprised less ๐
Because why they would ever take it off in the first place is even more baffling ๐
Recently died ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Battleaxe for woodcutting is goated.
Jumping first allows you to equip items and play many other animations without slowing down
whats the biggest creature in the game
Queen or Fader most likely.
For non-bosses, largest by volume is gjall if I had to guess.
dyk what the max star i can give a creature is
You don't give anything stars so the question makes no sense.
dev commands
Max star level you can spawn in depends on what you are spawning.
For most things it is 2, some things have no stars, and fish have 5 maxmium but can be spawned only with 4.
poggers. this gentlemen has 2 thumbs and also a knowledge of haldor's whereabouts in his mapless game
2 thumbs down because mapless ๐๐
I thought all I had to worry about was ||wolfs, and drakes|| in the mountains but nah theres ||lycans|| to
my fear of things chasing me love's this game
dont hate because odin didn't teach you to read the great tree. i had to sacrifice an eye for the knowledge
Fenrigs spawn only at night.
Ulvs are only in caves.
havent seen a cave yet
Life is too short for the energy required in hating something. ๐
don't.... be jelly?
I am content. I have nothing to be jealous of ๐คทโโ๏ธ
this is gonna be like me getting you to use battleaxe, one day you're gonna be loving a no map world
Nope.
Because battleaxe already falls off due to animation timing. Like I said.
I gave it the full fair shake, but it needs to be literally 0.1s faster to work for me.
Amazing woodcutting tool though. ๐
i thought u were using it in the last run and liking it except for like 1 or 2 enemies you thought you couldn't counter after you parried
If it was still OG Bonemass making you an immortal god of face-tanking so you didn't have to care about hits during wind-up, I'd use it.
But the fact I can parry things and they recover before I get the hit off is a non-starter. Tested all the way through Ashlands before reconfirming how I feel about it.
Seekers have the same issue unfortunately.
dont parry seekers just smash them. i still say you're parrying when you should be swinging
No.
If every weapon had a unique way you had to use it, you would have a point.
But this is the sole exception in a system that otherwise allows you to be both offensive or defensive with any weapon.
if you hit them with an attack and they stagger, you have enough time to reposition and do a 1st swing again and crit them. idk how u don't have time to attack after a parry
If I can get HAMMER swings off before recovery I should be able to get battleaxe swings off.

Tf is vril?
also battleaxe is defensive too, the boop is a great no thank you button vs 2 stars

No. Valheim is a specific place. Hence the game.
This is not "travel through Norse" so no Asgard, no Midgard, no Hel, etc.
the point is you're on the 10th world fighting the forsaken. why would you go to asgard?
Still don't know what vril is.
One message removed from a suspended account.
Valhalla isn't in the game either.
Name is Valheim, therefore location is Valheim alone.
i thought they completely made up valheim
also no, it's the 10th world, the place of exile

It's not a step before in the general sense.
It is a step before for you, specifically, due to the storyline.
Everything and everyone else in Valheim is there to stay.
Still don't know what vril is.
????? literally it says it in the first 10 seconds of the game it explains the entirety of what valheim si and why you're there
We earn our way into Valhalla here in Valheim.
whenwhere?
It is stated.
which stone?
If there is a specific in-game line for it I am sure Winter has it.
But the devs have also confirmed it many times.
That is the purpose of the game and why it will have a defined ending in 1.0
We are not meant to stay here. Get in, kill Forsaken, ascend.
That's why you can't recruit dverger and make Minecraft villages and such. Because we are merely passing through.
It's in game. Winter probably has the specifics saved.

i agree with all taht, i just never heard "KAWWWW KAWWW you're almost in valhalla! KAWWW"
No doubt she will love that.
KAWWWW KAWWW you're almost in valhalla! KAWWW
that suffice?
like after 1.0 and deep north the bird could fly down like "thanks SO much for your help. please accept this 100 gold coupon to haldor's."
-# still reading up, i'm slow
Just looking for if there is a specific in-game line about us being here to kill Forsaken to then go to Valhalla.
One message removed from a suspended account.
any text currently in the game doesn't support valheim being some kind of proving ground for the chosen that are sent there. (as in, doesn't imply that we were sent there because we aren't worthy yet)
but it is heavily implied we'll eventually reach valhalla since being worthy of valhalla at our death on the battlefield was the condition for being chosen to deal with the forsaken's current plan
Does it specifically say we died in battle though? ๐
that's a fair point, the fact that you're chosen as an honored dead means you're inherently worth of valhalla
but we were being semantics nerds about it being implicity stated to us as a reward for our hard work
We are geeks, there is a defined difference.
the wording's a bit..."poetic"'s not the right word, that leaves some of it up to interpretation for sure, i just read it that way
In our dreams.

well yeah, to scour the battlefields for the greatest warriors. what viking just hangs around and is like 'that fight last week was sweet. ima just sit here a while longer"
So I hold to my theory that we got chosen because we would have been Valhalla candidates, but unfortunately died in some other way.
So this is our "Odin being nice and giving us a path" arc ๐

alright well i'm happy with my geekness. just making sure i didn't miss some crazy runestone cuz i do read them all. when ashlands first came otu there was a sign in my base that said "WHO IS THE WINTER CHILD?"
fair, i'm bad at sounding normal
+5 to friendship points.
You are now in the category of "Better Friends" instead of just baseline friendship.
All that stuff is saved into that one tab

sadly 95% of runestones aren't
there are only a couple """important""" ones that get saved to your compendium

I propose that for deep north, they add uranium as a food item that provides a lot of energy
yea, the only ones that get saved that i can remember are boars, greydwarfs, draugr and wolves
I think there is one in Ashlands too?
which is why i set out to document them all back when the wiki page wasn't up to date on them (pretty sure it is now though)
probably ๐ i haven't had much time with ashlands yet
EITR already glows green and gives you powers ๐
Waiting for DN?
i feel like maybe the charred in general get a lore stone... my brain doesnt remember things well anymore. i just remember the winter child one
but that isnt uranium
oh yea eitr's so radiation-coded
also uranium aint green :V
You mean every video game ever lied to me??

No fighting. This is Harmony.
Oh wait... ๐
lemme put the "harm" in harmony right there
๐
what do you mean with that ? ๐ค
Eating uranium? Sounds unhealthy
nah its full of energy
its so weird, there's this spot right next to spawn that gives me framerate drop, and i dont get framerate drop anywhere. there's nothing there, it happened as soon as the world began idk what it is
is there some horrific underground game glitch or something??
invisible 4k greydwarf moment
Whats the best gear for zil and thungr? Would demolisher and mistwalker be good?
Or maybe krom even
Plains tier should be enough as they are plains tier miniboss.
So Mistlands tier is even better.
Im mistlands tier so Im trying to do as optimally as possible
You should be more than good with any Mistlands tier weapon.
Sounds good, cheers
Also if you already have feather cape then it's safety measure when you climb up the tower.
But fire weakness makes it risky otherwise, so you can pop up fire barley wine.
Got my Fenrig trophy wooooooo!
bonemass has been slain
he reminds me of oogly boogly from Halloween town and hormaus mora from skyrim
Oh im not climbing it
Im doing the chair trick from below
Also, whats the best stuff for the mountain miniboss? My main weapons are frostner and mistwalker which both I imagine wont do much.... Cus frost..
Well, any other high damage dealing weapon, or even silver sword thanks to big spirit damage.
Its weak to spirit?
He's immune to frost, weak to fire, neurtal to everything else.
Takes normal damage, so no weak nor resistant.
Ah. Im thinking of taking krom in that case
Krom is a sword though?
Fenrigs have one! (Just found)
Yea, but no special effects or anything
My other two weapons do frost so i figured itd be more effective
Krom tho.
True, but it is your first two-handed sword. So they tried not to go too crazy with it ๐
When krom released I was like "omg dragonslayer!!!"
No, lol.
-# little did he know... foreshadowing....
Brain sees double handed longsword, must be dragonslayer frfr
When Krom released it was like "omg why is this the sole two-handed weapon that has MtP? AND WHY ARE NORMAL SWORDS SUDDENLY THE ONLY ONE-HANDED WITHOUT MtP??"
They have since fixed two-handers, waiting for them to fix one-handers.
On that note -- do we think they are going to address Adrenaline gain with hammers?
๐ GTA VI got delayed again which means early 2026 is wide open for a Valheim 1.0 release

been that since may this year
November
At this point I'd take the over on it getting another sixer for a mid 2027 release
2077 looks closer and closer ๐
I have an idea for the trinket system but idk if it is worth doing a full suggestions channel write-up ๐
And why Wolf Spear take silver if no do spirit damage ๐ญ
please do they def need a rework imo
How so?
at least tell us the idea

Ive only used 2 the fins and necklace
the fins are fine but the bronze necklase requires like 6 enemeys of adreneline to prock
unless im using the adreniline system wrong
Anyone want to join my new server? looking for 3-4 player. we just accidently reset it lol so we dont have much xD
Well it ties into how years ago when we first got to the Artisan Table I 100% thought that would be jewelry crafting station in the future.
but ik you can use the forsaken power to activate them to
Bronze Trinket being at 50 is fine imo. It's not supposed to proc every single fight.
It's the ones in the 85-100 range that I have issues with, personally.
Its nice to have a stamina regen buff without having to fight for it all the time
idk passives are needed
So to use Vinny's favorite words:
I'd like a modular system.
Something where certain ingredients/trophies give you certain effects.
Each effect comes with an adrenaline amount attached to it.
Allowing you to assemble your trinket, your way.
If you want something like bronze trinket that can proc often, you give it only 1 effect like the 25% Stam Regen.
Adding more effects makes the proc more powerful, but requires more adrenaline to proc it.
bro thats genius
We are not related.
dont start that with me
I like the brooch more
It's a nice and quick health burst if I ever need it
Further example:
Wolf trinket costs 55 to proc and gives you the skill buffs +10% pierce
^ Nice, useful.
If you are a mace user... the 10% Blunt trinket costs 85 because it also heals you. So the ability to assembly your own and say "I want just the blunt buff, no heals" means you could get the effect for less adrenaline.
Slash one costs 75 because it also restores stamina. What if I just want the slash buff and don't care about the stamina restore?
I don't find 65 adrenaline to be that much, especially since my current playthrough I'm rocking battleaxes
sadly Im stuck on a wall and dont know whats after the iron one
Frostner, it needs a material from Haldor
oh its the hammer right?
Thor's hammer if he had the wrong elemental alignment
It looks like a hammer but it's a mace
Brooch and Pendant are both top contendors for me.
Only other ones I find I would use are the Wolf one or the Earrings if I go mage.
Otherwise there is cost bloat on the rest solely due to effects I don't actually want being paired with the ones I do.
shed a tear to that one
alr imma go buy it thank you
Enjoy it, I consider it the game's most iconic weapon
I would be curious as to what their target was for adrenaline gain. Like how often are you supposed to proc the Brimstone one in an extend fight? (costs 100)
How impactful is +25% eitr regen after 65 adrenaline? Seems like a bronze pendant but slightly worse
If mage, eitr regen is the priority, no?
ah its the ymir flesh
Sure but there's also that jormundling trinket which is only 5 more and it's an instant 100 eitr, I think I'd rather rock that just for the instant gain in the ashlands
There's also the +20 to magic skills, of all the endgame trinkets 70 adrenaline for that doesn't seem like a bad tradeoff
Always found it quite random how the frostner is made lol
Why's the trader just randomly got ymir's flesh
Yea I woulda though it to be the hammer lol
See previous about "how often to proc"
Because that helps with the math behind cost when you can weigh actual eitr restored from +25% over a minute vs. +100 over a <insert designed target proc time here>
giants flesh I think it means
could be misinformed
he's also blue like brock and syndry from god of war
Ymir flesh is from actual Ymir. It says so on the item.
ah
Now I know why sindri is so mad after the last game, he's probably pissed at the way you spell his name
lmao
More silver mining to do...
I havent played for a couple of years
You buy the flesh however
I can understand the overall benefit of constant regen, but I'd still rather have instant gain in the ashlands just in case I end up needing to spam attacks or get a troll/vines down to protect me
But at that point, I may as well use the brooch for safety instead
I haven't in general, just seen playthroughs of the GoW games, they're on my wishlist, just waiting for a good time to actually play them
I can only carve out enough time for a few different games to play
I mean that is what I am getting at with the math.
If the +100 is blatantly better due to how often it can proc, then I would say the cost of it needs to be adjusted or the +25% needs to be cheaper. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Had to tell either way without an answer from the designer(s).
Ive been on a big single player grind knocked out taletale twd, days gone, and fallout 3
now im playing this
Overall trinket wise, brimstone is definitely the worst one, that thing looks horrendous on paper, let alone in practicality
Ironic that the most endgame trinket of them all turns out to be so bad
Also part of why I think a modular system would be a good thing.
If you want a massive surge of stuff for a high adrenaline cost, you could make one.
If you prefer low bumps that occur more often, you can make those.
Fair enough, can't blame you, I hope that everyone gets to enjoy the splendor of singleplayer games. Since most of the money they make is from people buying copies, 99% of the time the game's overflowing with content made from the heart
Like even break down the Brooch.
Imagine being able to just have the +20 armor and it costs only 40 to proc instead of 65 for both.
Initially at least, until the merch and other branching begins if it ends up popular enough
I buy my games purely on sale I got over 200 on steam
never going back to console
Sounds like something you could get by letting people upgrade trinkets
Always smarter to buy them on sale, doesn't mean certain games aren't worth their price tag though
Hence the "idk if I want to spend the effort doing a full suggestion detail write-up" ๐
I donโt think Iโve ever actually gotten my trinket to proc, using knives. There should be a decay delay
100% I agree
Valheim's one of the ones I'd say is worth the price for the content and immersion it provides, but again, I'd wait for the sale, they're not that uncommon anyways lol
Im using my brothers copy
Well worth the full price
Think mine was gifted to me by my friend since he wanted to play it together, not sure, I can't even remember correctly
Definitely agree, there are other games that are as well. The most recent one I've got my eye on is split fiction since I want to play it with someone, but again no matter how good any game is, I am not paying 50$ for it
once appon a time you could get a game for the retail price of 50$ now its 60$-70$
that's why game stop is dying plus a lot of malpractice
Well to be fair
It isn't called Game Start ๐
Ok it's been maybe 30 minutes but I officially love the wolf trinket's +10% pierce (as a spear man).
I've never been able to get into spears. No matter how hard I try, it's always clubs then swords for me.
Fastest attspd in the game go brrrrrrrr.
I started because it was easier to hunt deer with them, and my love grew from there.
First stone golem encounter, first stone golem trophy collected. Lucky!
VERY lucky, lol
yeah, it is. I usually just go for the bow. My melee selections are secondary to my sniper skill.
I'm in plains at 100 bow skill RN.
I prefer axes to swords in terms of aesthetics.
And I double-down on that because of how swords are currently objectively better when they should not be.
Arriving in Plains with zero bow skill myself ๐
the twin axes in ashlands are pretty sweet. I used them a lot last playthrough.
everyone has their own playstyle I guess.
You see my woodcutting?
That will be my swim when I make my first large-scale iron run ๐
I level swim while waiting for the thousands to smelt ๐
that works. Part of my strat is to run around my walls at night and snipe stuff instead of sleeping (while smelting). Hence my 100 run/jump
Genuinely don't work on those actively. They take care of themselves ๐
my woodcutting is low just cuz I use troll slave labour.
If I ever need a bulk coal order I just buy fishing bait and obliterate it.
levelling the cooking and crafting skills is nuts slow.
Full Obliterator of just fishing bait is 210 coal.
wow, never though of that one.
I also hoard gold; I've made a tradition of celebrating Yag's demise by buying a dozen eggs.
It's 50g per stack.
21 stacks.
1050g = 210 coal
So 5g per coal is really good conversion.
Yeah. I donโt ever have a problem filling it though
At this point Iโm crafting wood arrows to obliterate
Need to get to Mistlands so I can build my permanent home ๐ญ
Still doing that in plains.
I cannot do my permanent until I have Black Marble.
Who's person who wrote the adrenaline page on the wiki?
Just needs like 1 more line to clarify stagger adrenaline.
Because you not only get +3 for the attack that staggers -- you also get +3 every time you hit a staggered opponent.
Found my 2nd or 3rd Queen bee in my favorite BF tower this solo play through. So now I have 11 hives. Way more than enough for a solo game.
I don't think so. Are you sure that you are not just staggering them each time?
Try parrying an enemy with high health then hitting it with a low stagger attack
If you parry an enemy it is staggered for a duration of time.
All hits within that time are giving normal + 3.
You might restagger them during this time, but it is easily confirmed by getting the additional and then having the enemy come out of stagger as normal with adrenaline returning to normal as well.
Fighting fulings of all types and star levels was how I confirmed before posting.
I did this and hit a staggered troll to only gain one adrenaline
My exact conditions were Wolf Spear (gives 1) giving me +4 when hitting staggered fulings.
You're probably dealing enough damage to refill their stagger
try something tankier
Starred berserkers only staggered for 3-4 hits before they recover normally.
Use wooden weapons
Welp I fell off the Earth, Flat Earth confirmeddddd
You already died on earth though.

Reading this when being completely new to valheim and knowing almost nothing about it other than what comes up until bonemass is like overhearing a conversation as a peasant amongst gods
Obliterator is good at recycling high-volume junk items into coal.
like idek what that means man
Yup just found him today actually after 6 hours of searching๐ซก
Buy the Thunderstone.
Copper + Iron and you're set for the trash can ๐
Haldor is the one in dark forest right?
Fill it with crap you don't want/need. Pull the lever.
Items have point values and you get coal based on how many points you obliterated.
Yes.
Oh wait fr
Thats hella sick
No... I'm lying to you because it is fun... ๐
๐
Very good for excess resin and the like.
Iโm a dedicated resource farmer so coal isnt usually an issue as I tend to have a couple thousand wood laying for use at all time but theres always crap to throw away for coal rather than nothing:)
I do more mining than cutting, so coal is always in need ๐
I thought it was you get the +3 stam for striking a staggered enemy not that you're refilling their stagger meter. +3 to stagger or to hit a staggered enemy.
And eventually the majority wood I collect is fine, so I sure as hell am not burning that into coal ๐
This has been my experience.
When the enemy is already staggered the increased damage makes it easy to refill their stagger
At movie, must turn phone off. Peace.
so if I parry a fresh full hp troll and punch it i should get 1 stamina?
Yes, I did that earlier
that's weird i've never seen myself get 1 adrenaline from anything other than a boss.
ive also assumed it's 3 stam to kill a thing, but i guess i could be filling its stagger meter at the same time?
its hard to know when you're a battleaxe enjoyer everything's stagger is always full XD
Ok, on a serious note is there a way to beat this game doing a passive run? I want to try it but of course the bosses are what gets me. I think I might only need a few of the bosses beaten to get around
passive meaning you don't kill anything? or don't kill anything directly, like fires
beating the game IS killing the bosses, or whatever deep north's whatever is. i guess it depends how you beat deep north and what items you need to get to and exist in deep north and how you kill things to get those things.
is there any info if they will ever rework fishing?
I dont know. Apparently fishing works fine if you learn how to use it.
Now that I think about it, wearing clothes should help with that.
Fishing is pretty easy. Once you figure out how to do it.
Not that we know of, fishing gets a bit weird when you bring quality 3 or higher into the equation
I think it would be neat if sitting on a chair helped out
upgrade teh fishing rod .... something
That would be neat
Well i want total not a thing dies. But if I have no choice then I guess don't directly kill bosses. I was hoping there was some glitch or something that will just delete a boss or something. Speed runners almost always know these tricks
hello . _ .
do iron torches burn slower than wood ones?
as in the same amount of resin lasts longer, yes
does wearing peasant clothes helps with fishing?
It does not
