Whilst leveling elemental magic would an aoe spell hitting multiple targets grant multiple exp?

Im guessing a group of TWIG is the current meta for elemental leveling?

If I'm going to grind, I might as well maximize the benefit by hitting a real enemy. That's why I built a greydwarf farm and draugr farm again this playthrough.

Call to Arms update was added during September. It added some new things in earlier biomes and added new mechanic for combat, plus improved the combat on slopes and much more.
Deep North is on it's way, but there is no official timeline for the release. Some people guess it releasing in 2026, but unless Iron Gate themselves confirm that, it will still remain as guess.

Ok so spears' attack speed is very noticeable when dodging Greydwarf Brutes.
Because if I try to use club or axe, if I roll then attack they will hit me with there second attack every time due to how slow those weapons are.
With spear, I can roll, attack, and be ready to roll again without any issues.

it's generally "if you hit at least one enemy per attack you get a fixed amount of exp", so hitting multiple ones doesn't reward you more exp (which I'm not a fan of, because hitting more enemies is objectively harder and more dangerous).
And sure, most weapons are effectively single-target weapons, but you can hit more than one enemy if you position yourself well (I did it with both atgeir and spears, but it's hard to get the angle right), but swords is the most egregious example of how the system doesn't work: you get no penalty for hitting more enemies, but at that point it's better to just hit them one at a time if you care more about the skill

woeful basalt
#

the game does a really good job on ensuring that there is at least one troll nearby. it can be tricky to pinpoint, but one thing i've come to notice when trollhunting is that it is best to spiral out from that location, because another one is likely to spawn just over the hill.

#

there have been times when I've walked through around two hundred meters of black forest and killed three trolls along the way.

with some maps, running into a troll is inevitable, while with others, it takes a skilled tracker to find even one.

jovial sleet
#

Yeah I wouldn't want to get invested using fists just to have them fall off and not have any new cool variations:/

#

That really sucks. Even if there is one in the final biome, you're still just not getting anything new and cool for a while

light moat
#

Yeah I feel that. Fist weapons have a pretty limited pool of weapons. More of niche thing imo

gray sand
#

They work pretty well up to Plains.
Mistlands is where they drop off a bit and Ashlands they aren't good.

#

First one for them is in BF, upgrade in Mountain, final in Plains.

jovial sleet
#

But a lot of the joy is actually getting new weapons.
The visuals and other upgrades is awesome across biomes.

Watching your sword and mace go from a bundle of sticks, to a crude weapon, to something workable, to a beautiful work of silver, and so on, is awesome

Bear Paws to Wolverine Claws to Undead Bear Manidbles is pretty cool tbh

First hitbox issue since the update:
If using battleaxe, if you chop a birch tree down and are level with the log, you cannot hit it. You just swing right over it.

fossil delta
#

I run into that even with axes. If its not at the right elevation in relation to you, you won't hit it. You have to roll it to be higher or even lower. Been having that problem in my current solo play through with the bronze axe. It looks like I should be able to hit it, but I won't.

heady parcel
# idle spade i wanted to make a small outpost for swamp adventures but i went a little overbo...

Why should you stop yourself? Build away I say! By "stone elevated" I presume you mean you have raised ground a bit to build on. You will get occasional wraiths flying over the walls, and draugr archers will probably try and shoot out torches and so on, so occasional repairs will be necessary, but there's nothing that will raze a base to the ground if you just make sure they can't walk up to the walls...

idle spade
#

no i meant stone pillars and then arches and then building with even more stone!!! :D but maybe raising the ground a little bit

#

prefer not to though, to keep it a bit natural

heady parcel
#

My method for that kinda thing is to raise a very narrow spike of ground and enclose it in stone to make it look better. Mobs can destroy the stone of course, but that is quickly repaired, while the structure on top remains sound thanks to the core out of raised ground.

silk token
heady parcel
#

By the way, when building in the swamp I tend to base my builds around the petrified trees - those are indestructible. ๐Ÿ™‚

idle spade
#

ofcourse not exactly the same way but this is more as a blueprint and to find the right ways to do things

grand juniper
#

Has anyone ever built a base in the swamp? I never see people do this, it's like the most unpopular biome

heady parcel
#

I have never had my main base in the swamp, mostly because by the time I get there I have usually already established a core base. So when I find a major swamp with many crypts I'll make an outpost with some storage, repairs and resting capacity. This from a no-portals perspective, with portals all that's needed is space enough for a portal really.

tribal trench
candid basalt
#

Tree house outposts are great for swamps. And then you empty all crypts, load up boat and never return

lone rampart
candid basalt
#

Also swamp bases are perfect for spooky vibe builds like haunted castles etc

heady parcel
#

Only drawback is that since the petrified trees can't be knocked down you need to do a fair bit of exploring to find a good location that fits your plans...

idle spade

i have noticed enemies are less likely to attack my walls if there is some sort of entrance so i am gonna try to build around that

foggy glacier

orchid locust

#

I can't time my parries on them yet.

orchid locust
#

in that regard bears are the "buggiest" because you can't predict what they will do if you're holding a torch with 100% accuracy

I have an idea for the trinket system but idk if it is worth doing a full suggestions channel write-up ๐Ÿ˜„

#

And why Wolf Spear take silver if no do spirit damage ๐Ÿ˜ญ

noble birch
gray sand
#

How so?

noble birch
#

the fins are fine but the bronze necklase requires like 6 enemeys of adreneline to prock

#

unless im using the adreniline system wrong

Anyone want to join my new server? looking for 3-4 player. we just accidently reset it lol so we dont have much xD

gray sand
noble birch
#

but ik you can use the forsaken power to activate them to

gray sand
noble birch
#

idk passives are needed

gray sand
#

So to use Vinny's favorite words:
I'd like a modular system.

Something where certain ingredients/trophies give you certain effects.
Each effect comes with an adrenaline amount attached to it.
Allowing you to assemble your trinket, your way.
If you want something like bronze trinket that can proc often, you give it only 1 effect like the 25% Stam Regen.
Adding more effects makes the proc more powerful, but requires more adrenaline to proc it.

noble birch
#

bro thats genius

gray sand
#

We are not related.

noble birch
#

dont start that with me

rugged bridge
#

It's a nice and quick health burst if I ever need it

noble birch
#

idk I might try it

gray sand
#

Further example:
Wolf trinket costs 55 to proc and gives you the skill buffs +10% pierce
^ Nice, useful.
If you are a mace user... the 10% Blunt trinket costs 85 because it also heals you. So the ability to assembly your own and say "I want just the blunt buff, no heals" means you could get the effect for less adrenaline.
Slash one costs 75 because it also restores stamina. What if I just want the slash buff and don't care about the stamina restore?

noble birch

I LOVE MACES

gray sand
# rugged bridge I like the brooch more

Brooch and Pendant are both top contendors for me.
Only other ones I find I would use are the Wolf one or the Earrings if I go mage.
Otherwise there is cost bloat on the rest solely due to effects I don't actually want being paired with the ones I do.

noble birch
#

alr imma go buy it thank you

rugged bridge
#

Enjoy it, I consider it the game's most iconic weapon

noble birch
#

wow

#

also got the obliterator

#

awsome

gray sand
#

I would be curious as to what their target was for adrenaline gain. Like how often are you supposed to proc the Brimstone one in an extend fight? (costs 100)

rugged bridge
gray sand
#

If mage, eitr regen is the priority, no?

noble birch
#

ah its the ymir flesh

rugged bridge
#

Sure but there's also that jormundling trinket which is only 5 more and it's an instant 100 eitr, I think I'd rather rock that just for the instant gain in the ashlands

#

There's also the +20 to magic skills, of all the endgame trinkets 70 adrenaline for that doesn't seem like a bad tradeoff

rugged bridge
#

Why's the trader just randomly got ymir's flesh

noble birch
#

Yea I woulda though it to be the hammer lol

gray sand
noble birch
#

giants flesh I think it means

#

could be misinformed

#

he's also blue like brock and syndry from god of war

gray sand

Ymir flesh is from actual Ymir. It says so on the item.

noble birch
#

rugged bridge

But at that point, I may as well use the brooch for safety instead

rugged bridge
#

I can only carve out enough time for a few different games to play

gray sand
noble birch
#

now im playing this

rugged bridge
#

Overall trinket wise, brimstone is definitely the worst one, that thing looks horrendous on paper, let alone in practicality

#

Ironic that the most endgame trinket of them all turns out to be so bad

gray sand
#

Also part of why I think a modular system would be a good thing.
If you want a massive surge of stuff for a high adrenaline cost, you could make one.

#

If you prefer low bumps that occur more often, you can make those.

rugged bridge
gray sand
#

Like even break down the Brooch.
Imagine being able to just have the +20 armor and it costs only 40 to proc instead of 65 for both.

rugged bridge
#

Initially at least, until the merch and other branching begins if it ends up popular enough

noble birch
#

never going back to console

I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve ever actually gotten my trinket to proc, using knives. There should be a decay delay

rugged bridge
rugged bridge
# glad night Well worth the full price

Definitely agree, there are other games that are as well. The most recent one I've got my eye on is split fiction since I want to play it with someone, but again no matter how good any game is, I am not paying 50$ for it

noble birch
#

once appon a time you could get a game for the retail price of 50$ now its 60$-70$

#

that's why game stop is dying plus a lot of malpractice

gray sand
#

Well to be fair

#

It isn't called Game Start ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ok it's been maybe 30 minutes but I officially love the wolf trinket's +10% pierce (as a spear man).

gray sand

If I ever need a bulk coal order I just buy fishing bait and obliterate it.

foggy glacier

levelling the cooking and crafting skills is nuts slow.

gray sand

Full Obliterator of just fishing bait is 210 coal.

foggy glacier
#

wow, never though of that one.

#

I also hoard gold; I've made a tradition of celebrating Yag's demise by buying a dozen eggs.

gray sand

It's 50g per stack.
21 stacks.
1050g = 210 coal
So 5g per coal is really good conversion.

Who's person who wrote the adrenaline page on the wiki?

gray sand

Just needs like 1 more line to clarify stagger adrenaline.

#

Because you not only get +3 for the attack that staggers -- you also get +3 every time you hit a staggered opponent.

fossil delta

nocturne wolf
#

Try parrying an enemy with high health then hitting it with a low stagger attack

gray sand
#

If you parry an enemy it is staggered for a duration of time.
All hits within that time are giving normal + 3.
You might restagger them during this time, but it is easily confirmed by getting the additional and then having the enemy come out of stagger as normal with adrenaline returning to normal as well.

#

Fighting fulings of all types and star levels was how I confirmed before posting.

nocturne wolf

its hard to know when you're a battleaxe enjoyer everything's stagger is always full XD

grand juniper
#

Ok, on a serious note is there a way to beat this game doing a passive run? I want to try it but of course the bosses are what gets me. I think I might only need a few of the bosses beaten to get around

silk token
#

passive meaning you don't kill anything? or don't kill anything directly, like fires

#

beating the game IS killing the bosses, or whatever deep north's whatever is. i guess it depends how you beat deep north and what items you need to get to and exist in deep north and how you kill things to get those things.
