That's what I been doing as well, and it's going great. I crafted bronze sword, bronze pick, and maxed out. It was not that much more mining. And then proceeded to try and build a base in every biome with levelled stations

ashlands- how do i get closer to land with these rocks in between?

Sail slowly in your Drakkar, but a nice strategy is to increase your render distance if you have it set low, and sail along the outer edge of the rocks looking inward. If you see tree tops or structures, sail inward to that point, you don't want to get caught amongst the rocks with no land nearby.

No. According to some lore, Draugrs are still living people, but they've been hybernating for so long, they actually look dead.

Zombies are dead persons due to a virus, which came back to life after some point, hence why they're named UNdead. (Just like Vampires, btw).

The black forrest best health food (excluding plain cooked meat from this) is deer stew at 45 hp
The swamps worst health good is black soup at 50
So there's not really space in between. You could maybe match black soup recognising bear meat is harder to get, but it permanently makes the black forrest slightly eaiser.

I guess it doesnt necessarily have to be in increments of 5, but most food when the stat is above around 30 usually increments ofr 5 is used

Stuttering might just mean your machine is struggling in general, the Ashlands is reasnoably graphically complex, have you tried turning down graphics settings?

Unfortunately not that simple, I can run any other game I play at 400+ FPS and Valheim itself runs capped at 360 and stays above 300 almost always. It seems there's something wrong with the game engine or something overall when there's too much happening in one area in the Ashlands.

speaking of weapons, how come spears level up faster than any other weapon? How is that justified? Every weapon has a gain of 1.5 exp on hit, but the spear has x1.5 that amount

As I explore, I'll hop from island to island. First sailing around it, until I find a really good and strategic position, normally a ruined tower on the coast, I'll fix it up with a bed and storage. Then I'll walk the coast, and gradually make my way inland till I've cleared the whole map of the island. Then I'll load all my booty from the outpost into the ship and set off for the next one.

Yeh, luckily they have difficulty sliders. Vanilla setting is more of a builder/tutorial type difficulty. When game gets too easy, then you just move it up. Play with Very Hard Combat and increase death penalties. Then, you can add CLLC mod to make mobs have effects like fire infused and spawn up to 5 stars. Getting a 5 star Eikthyr with health regen. Might need more arrows.

I don't even bother playing on servers that don't have No Maps/No Portals/Very Hard Combat and a mod or two to increase the difficulty and MUST have Anti Cheat and Server Side characters. Been there, for ashlands most important thing is probably to be careful harvesting the first flametal spire, one spire is enough, the rest that you need can be looted from fortresses. Then also making sure not to piss off the dverger, especially with iolite weapons, as they can easily take you out in an instant

There is a sliver of mountain right near the starting stones, and everything is kinda small Islands so getting around can be a little dicey. But there's also some sweet stuff to be found not far from spawn and the geometry is super surreal in parts where the islands meet

Played a PvP server where we could not only bring animals but mobs through portals, made for some interesting possibilities for portal traps. Had one particular trap high up where you'd fall into a pit full of 2 stars charred of all kinds

Not insisting, but it's just a cool seed worth checking out if you want to try something a bit different. It's not too challenging just kinda needs a raft early on. I'd consider it a challenge seed so by all means roll a few random ones for your main world and try that one out when you're feeling fancy!
