Just play the way you feel comfortable π
I might. I've been happy just knowing they are near by. Been handling things well enough as is.
I killed my first 2 star soldier solo yesterday. I was so bummed it did not drop a trophy. I felt like I deserved one. π
Those trophies are rare, since the soldiers themselves are rare. I had most trouble with golems i think xD my personal record was something like 40 killed golems without trophy
Maybe a 2* mob should always drop a trophy?
That would be a nice change imo π
-# And i think that for some time i even believed they did xD
Yeah, Golem trophies do feel pretty rare, and I have killed a lot of them. We are doing well on Mistlands trophies though. We even have 5 soldier trophies. 10 Gjall, nearly a full stack of tics, and not sure on Seekers. Around 10.
Wow, 5 soldier trophies is quite a lot π
Pretty sure we have ran into more this run. Especially in the dungeons.
3 in just one room.
thanks for the tip for the video ...is mainly windows focussed while I am on Linux (kubuntu 24.04 to be exact), but will try some of the non windows tips
just don't forget your poison resist potion like I did or you wake up in your bed thinking what just happened?...again like I did π
Against Bonemass? For sure. π π
My wife and I made him real easy this time. We went into the mountains first, used our experience to find silver (No hammers). Frostner makes him go down so fast...
At one point I went on tens of infested mines in my current main world and I never found more of the soldier trophies inside those even when some had more than 1 soldier inside lol.
Yeah, its still a random drop, so we have had better luck this time.
Especially on tics.
The gjall have been particularly shocking. Almost a trophy every time.
iron mace was easy enough for me...took me a 10 minutes ...stamina and poison resist is key and Eikethyr power for the 1st 5 minutes..
Thanks for the tip!
If you have poison resist and iron armor you donβt need to move anywhere during the fight
I can find silver without the wishbone??
Yeah, that works well, just its down to a few minutes with Frostner.
Yes but it is not intended π
Yeah, there is the sledge hammer method, or you can just "guess", like we did. We have played so much we can make a good guess as to where they are.
So iron armor is the recommended for him? I have the set but Iβm still nervous heβs gonna bonk the shit out of me lmfao
if you're lucky to find a silver vein sticking out somewhere...yes..
Root armor will work well but the reason I suggested iron armor for not moving is because it will reduce the damage from the poison aoe so you can stay inside it longer
Mmk.. Any recommended weapon?
He resists pierce and slash damage but is weak to blunt so an iron mace is much better than anything else
mace for sure...
Iron mace is probably the best option.
The iron mace also helps a lot for an enemy in mountains
I love the maces all the way through the plains. Then I switch to sword.
especially 2nd attach on those creepy stone thingies..
the fact you can stunlock an enemy in the mountain it with just quality one iron gear is just crazy
im so zoned out
Golems?
Mace secondary is one of my favourite attacks
Their fixing the height/elevation combat problem will make golems so much easier to take down.
Iβve never had trouble hitting golems since theyβre so tall
i like the update where the fix the cross hair much easier to see the sword the the white x
You still "miss" when they are higher than you.
than the white x
It gets very irritating. To me, anyways.
Iβve never been too irritated by it. Learn to attack at the correct height instead of blaming the game.
I'lll blame the game because that is why its even a issue in the first place.
Generally being below an enemy isn't a position you want to be in since the timing for jumping their attacks will become more precise or you won't even be able to get high enough, but I guess that doesn't apply to golems because their attacks are too tall anyway
I'm quite excited what else changes we might be getting aside with the slope combat improvement.
I hope they actually show us some of the combat changes soon, all we've seen of the update is a new build piece and armor set.
And for slope combat we've just had some text, we haven't seen how it's been changed
anyone know if you can still launch yourself with a catapult? it doesnt seem to work for me
Should be able to.
itll launch me in the air like 20 feet and then im back to gliding down normally
You must not move at all.
ohhhhh
okay ima try it again thanks π

why couldnt they add a desert biome βΉοΈ
they just didn't want to i guess
-# i for one am very happy to have a video game without a stinky desert
Plains is flat, yellow and dry. Works for me.
I feel you would not like the Dune game
lol i know, i was just hoping for like 1 or 2 more, and desert was an 'easy' option
Is ashlands not close enough?
Well, we have known the names of biomes for pretty long time, other than plains nothing really sounds "desert-ty" π€
I wouldn't say Ashlands is remotely desert like.
thats more like hell like than desert
We got Queens Jam. Isn't that dessert-y enough?
Ashlands is by far better than any desert would be.
Hellish landscapes are kickass! π©
Yeah, best place to hack and slash.

I was so pleasantly surprised with Ashlands. I remember the pre-Ashlands generation, it looked terrible.
i like neither deserts nor hellish landscapes, my enjoyment scale of environments usually runs perfectly parallel to their temperature, but ashlands were unique enough that i liked the vibe too~
I hate Ashland biome
huge bonus points for some sweet and abundant ruins
I've run into a few spaces with nothing around, the temples feel serene coated with berries and goodies.
i love "natural" environments that leave you unsure about how much of them really is natural - ruins that bleed into the terrain and seem to be part of one massive city rather than smaller, scattered outposts or something.
gen 2-4 monster hunter did a lotta places like that
Deep North when?
Prolly not in 2025
When it's ready and cold enough to show us lots of snow
My favorite fictional biome is Wyoming
I love mountain and Mistlands
Aight got my iron mace and full iron gear, and my 10 poison resist.. lets hope for the best
I'm sure you can do it.
Attempt one; died five seconds in lol
Make sure you leave some of your poison resist at base, that way you can use it before engaging with Bonemass
Yeah this ain't working
I may need assistance with him if anyone's down to join and help me rq
Whatβs your diet? Are you playing on regular difficulty?
Iβve got wolf meat, neck tail and boar jerky right now
Did you find turnips? π€
I have turnip seeds yeah. Are they better?
Yup, they are.
Oh yes, and once you grow turnips from them you can upgrade cauldron for even better food π
Also, if you have killed Draugr, they should help you with better food. But the turnip will be needed to build an upgrade to your cauldron first.
Done! Are you recommending the black soup?
And in case you donβt carrots, make sure you get those too
I recommend farming more turnips and getting turnip soup, sausages and black soup π
Also remember to plant every new thing you can and check what it unlocks π food is one of, if not the most important stat in the game.
Your diet is your best armor!
Stam is the best hp π
I definitely donβt disagree π
Thank you! You are always so lovely and helpful β€οΈ
Asatru is ok
I have also enlisted my best friends help lmfao when he gets home so I'll stock up on our food in the meantime.
You should never eat neck tails
Ohh why
Is it OK to use them as a Necklace? π€
maybe when you first start a character
Deer and boar meat are both better and also donβt require you to kill any necks
Youβre choosing to kill necks for worse food, why
Some people just want to watch the world burn
they should have made the 2 star neck red, would be hilarious
Better to slaughter as many necks as possible, and use their tails for charcoal
Doggs are much easier to farm
Good luck farming serpent scales
Lol Iβve made that mistake a couple times
Don't kill necks, but you should honor their life by eating them if they're struck down by something else.
New plan: use only neck charcoal to smelt a bronze sword
Babe wake up new challenge run just dropped
Rawr!
Hey you, youβre finally awake. Thereβs a settlement that needs your help, here Iβll make it on your map
Helloo. So me and my friend tried Bonemass and were not able to beat him so if anyone's wiling to briefly join my server to help I'ld appreciate it
just built my first drakkar, that thing's huge
A little tip, try to spot land along the edges of the ashlands before sailing into it, I lost my first drakkar just trying to find some land.
dang, thanks
Wrapped up today with 21 Seeker trophies (Total, not just today) and 16 extra cores. I don't know if we will ever need to use all of our seeker meat. π
Neither one of us died today, so a good day.
does anyone wanna play together ?
@ sharky, wana run together?
Nice
Yeah you will never use all of that seeker meat
Just turn it into coal
Cook it up
Donβt obliterate it π
Is it just me or does the Dead Raiser feel totally outclassed by the TrollStav, to the point where sadly I don't carry my Dead Raiser with me anymore, because they die too quickly in the Ashlands compared to a Trollstav summon?
Sorry to say but that is a skill issue π
Your Skellie summons become much stronger with a high blood magic skill
And of course you need to use magic shield on them for the best results
Having 4 bubbled skellies that draw aggro away from you and can one-shot twitchers is much easier to use than 2 raging trolls that try to kill anything that happens to walk to close π
or keep for future mistland feast recipes
True - but youβll never run out of big meat Iβm afraid π
Your entire first run through mistlands should be enough if not more than enough to carry you through ashlands lol
because you fight seekers quite often so your gonna have alot of seeker meat
The rest I just throw away or when I accidentally take some back home I deliver it to thor for them to try
is ashlands performance bad for everyone or just me?
Yea itβs not the greatest
If you have a mid to low end client, and have many settings in the High end of the spectrum, you'll notice a difference in Ashland.
Thereβs also zero reason for there to be 200+ audio streams going on while in morgen caves
True. The devs are aware of this, and we hope for an adjustment in next update
ok we kinda got decent PCs and hosted the server on gportal - the mobs just teleporting around
Multiplayer?? That even a bigger problem. The client that enter a world cell first, does most of the game-calculations for all the players in the same cell. So if that player has mid-to low end hardware in client and/or network, or wrong settings in client and/or network, you will all have low performance. Even if you have your NASA computer and gPortal uses Quantum computing.
aah okay
Problem is usually quality of network performance. not speed, nor hardware
If network hardware hasn't enabled Smart Queuing, it might be causing Bufferbloat, and might resulting in packet drops.
why are knives so satisfying
They're fast and clean.
Slice and dice! π€© βοΈ
the backstab bonus is insane it's honestly my favorite weapon since I adore the playstyle of fast short range weapons
What's a good DMG weapon
Any weapon, really. What do you like to use?
Maybe spear or sword
if you wanna kick back and not care too much, honestly just run atgeirs
they stagger almost anything
Those are solid, but also note that some mobs have resistances against certain damage types so having different weapon types to cover different damage types (blunt, pierce and slash) is good idea.
Is there anyway someone can give me a good spear or sword?
i mean you CAN cheat them in via devcommands
Slash is solid through the whole game as there are not many resistant against it but also not many are weak against it.
Blunt and pierce have more variance for some more enemies weak against them but also resistant.
I can't have mod I'm on Xbox I think
You can get your first sword when you acquire bronze.
Before that, flint spear is solid choice against most mobs in meadows and black forest.
has the developers said anything about a possible switch 2 version? I'd sell my family for that shit
I hope there will be anotherr News Episode soon. All july no word because they have deserved their vacations but I am so curious. Meanwhile going to record some more Episodes and try to get my mind of being curious π
No
thats so real. i almost wanted a steam deck over the switch just for this game alone.
Thanks for that info! That explains quite a lot of rather unnecessary deaths in our multiplayer playthroughs.
when the update 1.0 comes out, are they still going to be adding new biomes and stuff or is the next update the last before just patches?
No new biomes after 1.0 no. Some smaller patches or additions are not off the table tho as far as we know.
The game is complete at 1.0. No talk about content updates, or DLC's.
thats what was worrying me, i was hoping for more biomes, but i understand not all games keep going forever lol
well, we have known that Deep North will be the final biome for more than 4 years now i believe π
i just started :/ i was full of hope still
It was always planned for 8 biomes
Draugr in my world act like they are nervous to come up and talk to me :/ one just snuck up behind me and i turnt around and saw him just standing next to the tree behind me and the RAN away lol
Hello people, good morning from here βοΈ
Do ya'll by any chance have any cool seeds that you would like to recommend?
I just got this joke π
No july 'words from the devs' π
Of course not, it well known why not.
if youre going to be a condescending prick, youre getting ignored
devs had a vaca hopefully we get an update this month
π€
Kinda sneak peak from Valheim Instagram... Finally we get the ||stache||??
Where was the condescension?
No Instagram, no stache for me π
#screenshots message There u go
Ps. Hairstyle is already in game, the ||stache|| is new.
Ye just didn't wanna give too much spoil in text
Fair enough.
I haven't closely examined the eitr weave set, are the things on his hands just part of the armor or is that something new
It looks like Eitr-weave.
It's less feathery on shoulders without the Feather cape too.
checked the wiki yea eitr weave set has the little bracers i was suspicious of
Yep it is eitr weave, checked it earlier today in game π
I just died to a 2 stars seeker soldier after being pushed in a wall getting stuck, feels bad. I've been running around in circles using my demolisher for like 15 minutes lol.
Yeah they tanky.
2 star seekers are not a push over, either. Ran into one of those yesterday.
They look like they're on serious roids.
All those colors they have...
Hi
How do I put a bonfire inside my house?
With difficulty π (but if you mean strictly placing then it need either ground or stone floor)
You can just put it on bare ground
If its not by much then you can raise ground using hoe
#screenshots π
Oh yeah
Yeah, I have done that. Not for the bonfires, but for a camp fire. but it can be done.
Wait, is it called campfire or bonfire? Is there 2 different items?
Because in my language it is the same
Campfire is the one that costs 5 stone and 2 wood
campfire is small, bonfire is huge
So it's a campfire
Yep π
If it was a bonfire it would be very difficult to incorporate it to inside of building π
That sounds much better, I was wondering why you would want the bonfire in your home. π
It's just that I didn't knew what it was, in my language we just call it "fogueira" doesn't matter the size
Bonfire doesn't get extinquished by rainy weather tho.
Inside your home? You have other issues if its raining inside your house.
That would not be a problem on inside of your house π
No, not me.
Oh damn it #screenshots
If someone want to leave hole on roof.
I want π
Campfire needs cover tho.
You need mats from black forest and swamp to get the recipe for bigger bonfire.
No
Hmmmm... Well hopeully the hoe can flatten that well enough for you to put the fire. It should.
I only played for about 3 hours and did basically nothing but build my tiny house
Yeah I fixed it
Yeah, take this game slow. You only get to play it as a new player once. So take your time, enjoy it.
Ok π
A lot of us wish we had done so.
I feel you guys, it happened to me with Zomboid
I'm not any pro but I lost the feeling of playing for the first time watching tutorials and rushing
Lets see, some typical advice. Pick up everything, build everything at least once, and... listen to the bird for its clues.
Did all that
Then you should do just fine.
Yeah, we have occasional problem people, but its a very good group, over all.
I'm trying to get more leather but I can't find more boars π I know they spawn near where they first spawned, but there aren't any left
If you ever want to play this with others, check out #1024264966712340510 read the rules pinned at the top of each channel you look at.
There is no rule making them spawn where they were previously tho
You really want deer too. Try sneaking with a knife, or the spear.
Kk
They do strongly tend to do that, though.
I have boar spawning in the same areas around my base almost daily.
Same for deer.
Well if area had boars spawn before they can spawn around there again π but not to a level that "this" particular spot always has boar at this and that time
Thats true, but its rather reliable for them to appear in the same areas.
Like I said, nearly every game day around my base. For over 400 game days. So pretty reliably.
400 DAYS π±
We are over 500 now, but my main base has been where it is for over 400 of them.
If you want total hours played, I am over 4500. Still far behind people like Edna...
She is approaching 8,000, but she also hosts her own servers, so that is a bit misleading.
nice
It has been, yeah. Deer, boar, neck, fish. The BF pretty much next door. Been staying supplied rather easily.
So I found a swamp temple (needs the swamp key, has the green torch near it) but it seems like the bottom is underwater..
Any idea how to get around that? Is this normal? Or should I just leave this and look for another one?
Its why you need to beat the Elder, but there is a cheat.
They will all be locked.
You can find iron in the mud, but that is few and far between, and only nets you up to 9 pieces, with luck.
TIL attached ticks come with you through the portal lol
They've come with you through portals? Was that on a standard game setting?
World modifiers donβt affect it.
I've never had anything come through a portal with me, so just wondering how that is even possible.
Ticks donβt detach when you go through a portal
I guess I just have always managed to kill them first. It is one of the reasons I carry a sledge. π
I don't think you need that for the Mistlands sledge. But the iron, yeah.
Its used for 2 things iirc
There is iron sledge in swamp era, yes. It requires Ymir flesh from Haldor.
It has quite cool crafting recipe.
The Iron Sledge and Frostner, iirc.
The sledge from Mistlands doesn't require any of it.
Swamp era? We missed out on that completely
Would have maybe been fun against bonemass
You might not have gotten draugr elite trophy?
The sledges make crypts, tombs, mines much easier to get through. Oh, and the caves.
We do have those
Just never bought ymir flesh
We actually have an elite on the wall for some reason
Okay. Well you might have the recipe already.
They are actually rare. Think we have 4. We've killed a LOT of elites.
Never saw it π€·ββοΈ
You have to buy the flesh to get the recipe. I think. Not a specific fact I have memorized.
Probably
The slowmode? Yeah you get used to it, but this server is in no way active enough to warrant one
I don't think I quite understood
You got the roles for updates so you will be pinged once there is something in #news , #valheim-patchnotes or #public-test-patchnotes π
No access yippee
I linked the channel for public testing π you can see it only if you get the role for it from id:customize
What Asatru said, but warning as you might then get spoiled before the initial update if you participate in public testing.
Then you'll be good. π
dumb question. can tamed boars and wolves still be feed and breed in the same enclosed area?
yes
tamed is the same faction
got it, i didnt know if the boars would still feed when their remains are on the ground for the wolves to eat lol
#building-screenshots message @smoky quarry this is really cool! Looks like something you would stumble upon while exploring
Having raised real "boar", they will eat anything, and not be bothered by pretty much anything. π
π§ββοΈ β π€

Looking to join 24 hour server now if possible? π
Look no further than #1024264966712340510 π
@merry pebble I don't want to spoil my adventure but thought I'd let you check out my seed if you were so inclined, no spoilers though π nQSdsBW5fm
Ooh, ok, where are you in progression btw, just so i know?
All and all i would say pretty good seed π i noticed one kinda annoying thing but thats pretty much it.
Uh, well we kind of got out of order, my buddy slipped into the plains before we tackled the mountains, so we're mid-way on both of those biomes with a good chuck of the mats. We've killed Bonemass on his world but I want to shore up defenses on mine before we do that. Only returned one chest to T-Shirt so far, from a frost cave down by south Elder spawn.
I've mostly headed E-N-E, and as you can see, the swamps have not been crypt friendly in that direction - especially since my starting continent was ALL meadows/forest.
With some tiny little mountains π
To the crypt situation, i must say that you were really unlucky with that direction xD
Well when I went sailing looking for swamps that's where the Traders all spawned, so I that's where I kept my compass pointed, and then Bonemass was over there, then Moder - I followed the winds of fate π
Hey, just got my first Fenring trophy π
Got nice little hunting spot near my base (I moved it up one island to the north), can get all the mobs, so doin' some night hunting on the mountian nearby.
Stoopid golem smashed all my Fir saprolings though - I plant em to use as a noise maker to attract the baddies lol
That little rascal xD
It is not on the location the generator provided?
So the cave isnt there...
I just found itπ€£
Ah xD good then
I play the game with the lowest setting, it was camouflaged lol
Playing with the old pc with no gpu thats why
Well it could have been possible for the generator to be wrong, but your world would have to be made and played on before the Bog Witch update last year π
I'm so excited for the legendary return of the pointy hat! π―π
At first I was confused, because I thought it was so far away. Then I realized itβs right around the corner π
guys i just installed a mod, how do i activate it
Someone in #mods-issues can probably help with that
ok ty
Carts when you want to use them: "Not in the proper position" - "Not in the proper position" - "Not in the proper position"
Be me using them for quick wood/stone dump storage: Pick the damn thing up immediately instead of placing stacks.
Is the bog witch some sort of greydwarf?
Never actually analyzed what type of creature she is
I dont think we got there confirmed anywhere, but i would say yes
aight
She also has one as a friend π
yea true
Kinda interesting implications then
Assuming she was a greydwarf shaman that found her own way doing something idk, but she's still a greydwarf, and greydwarves are like murderers / general bad people
ig the viking doesn't care about character when she's selling good stuff
And she is not hostile or anything either π
The difference between a viking and a murderer is the viking dedicates the blood they spill to Odin. I am sure the simple fuling famers we slaughter have a different perspective on who the generally bad people are.
Also big difference between murderers and those who were sent to Valheim (i will refer to as vikings) is that vikings had their memory practically erased and are starting with clean slate essentially π
We are literally doing as Odin commands. So we are "covered".
The Fulings serve Yag, and never even try to just talk. So killing them doesn't bother me.
Headcannon that the bog witch is from a piece of Yggdrasil, similar to the Elder π€
I can go with that.
-# i swear by her being an abomination based on texturing, anatomy and sound design, but also think greydwarfs and abominations are probably very close concepts to each other
For me, the eyes make me think sheβs more greydwarvish, but I can see where you come to that conclusion π
i just imagine regular abominations are too underdeveloped to have grown into a more human shape
maybe the bog witch (originally greydwarf) studied the aboms and drank a potion that mutated herself or something idk
hate when that happens
Lost in the sauce π’
if she's a greydwarf though, we're still assuming they even can transcend their mindless nature described by the ever so rare greydwarf runestone
-# then again who's to say that narrator is a reliable one, or that abominations have an easier time developing intelligence from nothing (...at least i'd hope nothing, can't be certain the trees aren't judging me) i guess that one just "feels" more natural of a progression to me personally
Thatβs a good point too!
the only thing I'm pretty sure of is that the design takes from aboms, which i guess doesn't mean much in canon because i would think a greydwarf formed in swamp soil would look pretty different from a forest one π
fewer rocks, different wood, etc
Hahaha, my new head canon is that The Bog Witch was part of the race that carved Valheim's runestones, and discovered that the Greydwarves are born of empty vessels of rock/wood with the souls of murderers/sinners. Before dying she crafted herself a new body and buried her apprentice alive before ending herself under her makeshift body.
They both now toil in her hut, continuing with witchcraft forever. π
I like it. I'll adopt it until the devs give us an official story.
So I had just got done with Fader. And the funny thing about our base. somehow got the convenience of being directly in the center of all bosses
We found bog witch and trader on day 13 in game
Our character doesnt care because she sells the "good stuff" in purest and finest powder
Why the fecking heck does valheim lag so much when I am near a few players?
I can play other games with multiplayer and it doesn't kick me all the way out the server
I thought a dedicated server would eliminate that from happening, I can understand if it is hosted on some guy's pc
The client that enter a world cell first, does most of the game-calculations for all the players in the same cell. So if that player has mid-to low end hardware in client and/or network, or wrong settings in client and/or network, you will all have low performance. Even if you have your NASA computer.
Doesn't matter if you play on shared world, or on dedicated server
Designed by satan?
Nope. Designed to be a solo game
Why wouldn't they have the dedicated server do the hard work
So it's a single player game with multiplayer as an afterthought
The runestones were carved by vikings who were in Valheim before us tho π
It's in early access still.
The networking won't change though.
True. But much can be cut/scraped before 1.0 release. Like the support for Xbox One
Or change the player-cap from 10 to 4 players on same seed. Or cap it to 30 fps
Cap physics to 30 fps?
The saga that unfolded tonight during my acquisition of a breeding pair of wolves was unbelievably epic. I am quite proud and satisfied to have, during the maneuvers to trap the 2nd wolf, I managed to trap 3 at a time - ending up with 4 at the conclusion with which to begin my pack. No stars at this point despite their having come along for the ride.
Cap the FPS to 30 frames, would for sure make the game more "stable" and "better" for many on mid to low end hardware.
oh ewww
It's my point of view, mind you. Not the official stance of IronGate
No but locking fps to 30 ruins the experience completely
I could never play a game that has its fps locked to 30
And mid end hardware runs Valheim with ease
Thats why its good that you can make it capped to whatever
Iβm having issues finding pigs and deer is there any way you spawn them I just started
Boars are anywhere in meadows deer are meadows forests and black forest
And yes you can spawn them in using console commands but don't
Low, but stable fps are better then high and un-stable for many players. 54% of Steam users are still on 1080p resolution. So it's only logical that "for all to have the best experiences" on a game that will not re-do its networking code, or are limited by its engine (unity), things needs to be cap'ed downwards.
Play the game as its meant to be played first
Thats why we have the adjustable fps cap, and I would never play valheim if it was a hard cap to 30 fps
But, when it comes to multiplayer, your settings might affect others you play with.
I mean seeing how it works yes
Its bad the way they made it
And if you have a NASA computer, and you play with someone on a potato, you will have a bad time
Only if they go first
True
And that could be fixed by making the calculations be different
Like making the more powerful pc do the calculations or the host purely
But that would be changing the network code, and IronGate has stated they will not focus on that
Yeah
So when correcting the code aren't an option, cap'ing down are the only logical steps.
IF giving a better experiences for all player, that is.
Yeah, but making the physics run at lower fps could fix it without absolutely ruining the experience
Ok
Passive mobs respawn after a few ingame days, so mark the place on the map, so you know where to hunt.
Okay good to know
They don't respawn in the same place
How would you do that?
Only a small amount of creatures have set spawn points, such as growths
By making the physics calculations run at a lower fps so less calculations per second could help boost performance
Strange. It does in my game. Even built a hunting tower.
(which is a matter of the location, rather than the creature, since fixed spawners are only used in points of interests like ruins or tar pits)
-# (and 95% of said spawners are one-time only)
Iβm just trying to make armor before I fight the deer guy Iβve never fought him and Iβm worried itβll be hard
A couple of tips: bows are a good way to hit him without taking a lot of damage
And leather armor is enough
And learn his attack patterns so you can block with a shield when hea attacks
There's a regular enemy in the next biome stronger than this boss, he is very weak for his point in progression

I have deer, boars and necks spawning regularly outside my base, just outside the workbench radius.
because that's meadows
they spawn randomly anywhere around you where they can
and pretty frequently at that, so it's bound to see some repeat locations
Ok ty
You can roll to avoid damage from most attacks, which will help if you want to use a ranged weapon against Eikthyr
Okay
We are talking about Meadows. My experiences with the game, is that I can return to the same spots over and over, to find the same animals there.
that myth's been around for a while and i've dedicated like half my time here to disproving it π
RNG just be like that
So what's your proof?
there are boar stones and what not.
The runestones only have one-time spawn points
If you kill those boars, they will not respawn
Just like any other boar
didnt know
- there are invisible spawner objects in the game, many of them, both respawning and non-respawning. they are exclusively used in PoIs and mass-deleting everything around you doesn't stop enemies from randomly spawning
- you can use ESP to visualize the zone spawners, which are all placed at the center of each zone, obviously not in the exact spot that enemies spawn
- i've spent actual hours tracking the exact spawn locations of stone golems on mountains (stone golems are a good test subject since they don't move unless you engage them in combat, so you can see precisely where they spawned without speculating) and while there were some clusters (particularly around steep terrain, since that limits the amount of valid spawn locations), not even 2 among several hundreds of spawns were even within a meter of each other.
-# 1.2. respawning spawners are put on hold by spawnproofing, their cooldown keeps ticking down even if they're in spawnproofed territory but they won't spawn their enemy until spawnproofing is removed, at which point they'll immediately spawn their enemy. this doesn't happen with randomly spawned enemies.
-# 1.3. if there were fixed spawners in the wild, they'd have to be able to adapt to their valid locations being blocked, and if the enemies spawn within a radius rather than a fixed little point, why would you even make fixed spawners that are randomly placed in the wild instead of randomly checking for valid locations around you if that already needs to be done in real time anyway, that just seems like an unnecessarily vulnerable system that has no benefits over random spawning
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Spawn_zones the wiki has all the details on rules of random spawning, datamined from the game
So the reason for my Hunting tower is working, is the range and line of sight I have from it. Nice.
should also mention that meadows in particular limit their areas for deer further than most other entities because they can only spawn in areas that are considered by the game to be forest, which is determined on world generation and not affected by the actual trees in that area, so if you cut down a forest, you're gonna have a lotta deer just standing around confused haha
Mhm
I now and then find a bunch of deer in the middle of our tree farm that was a forest
I don't see where I said anything to contradict that π
Trapped/taming a 1* wolf π , I'll find that 2* eventually
is there a roadmap for updates?
No, roadmap has not been the thing since 2021.
sad

I had a dream about no food + no armor + no metal and woke up in a cold sweat not even joking
Why?
Do we really need a whole document that just says Combat Update -> Deep North/1.0 -> Done?
Lol
we do, a well elaborated document + a short movie just to tell me those 3 things
Shouldn't a trilogy be a better idea then?
One for each update.
Sounds like extending one book into 3 movies (looking at you, Hobbit).
Don't remind me.
I think you just were reminded, though.
Sick roadmap
π«‘
not muce since we are on the home stretch
After 1.0 nothing more?
Valheim is abandoned after dat?
BREAKING NEWS: VALHEIM ROADMAP RELEASED
don't go break the poor news
me and news got beef
Yea I agree, little too complex
Yes.
I just scrolled thru the Linux thread ppl have issues running game?
I think Smiffe is missing his calling as a comedian. I hope you at least do stand up comedy.
This is the smoothest buttery indie game I've played in a while on loonix
You mean he has to get off of his chair?
Very unlikely.
He can start a new trend of sit down comedy...
I usually stand at my desk all day long π€
You know what they say, pictures, or it didn't happen. π
When I started this job, the first thing I bought was a raiseable desk xD
OF course now a days, even AI is ruiniing that one.
@grokAI picture of my desk setup plz
How is that abandoned? It's finished.
As Smiffe said, they will fix all the issues, but Dvoid does have another project planned. So there is that.
I hope I enjoy whatever that is even half as much as I enjoy Valheim.
Getting two I love equally from the same outfit is unheard of, but I'll be thrilled if that happens too.
I wonder if they'll stay in the survival genre or flip to something completely different.
Me personally I'd retire
I think Dvoid talked a little bit about it in an interview, or maybe one of their fireside chats? A few years ago.
Retire? Surely you're not one of those people that think they're all magically millionaires?
Oh they certainly are, didnt you hear they bought a horse? π
Regardless, Dvoid has more ideas he wants to bring to life. Even if he, at least, is a millionaire. Or not.
If I made a successful game I'd retire for at least a few years yea
You can come out of retirement if you desire or need to
I used to own 3 horses. Does that mean I am, or was, a multimillionaire? Hardly.
If you own three horses you're broke. They ain't cheap to run.
Now THAT is far closer to the truth! π
The game angered my wife and I last night. Dragged serpent up on shore, killed it, then all its scales and the trophy popped off into the deep waters. We could see all of them, but couldn't "dive" down to get any of it. Even built the ladder so high the final piece would fail.
We literally had it up on the land when it died.
Ah well, at least it prompted us to stop playing at a some what decent hour.
Ragnarok expansion with a whole new world map, accessed through a buildable portal. But only in my dreams.
Doesnt sound like Valheim anymore.
In seriousness hopefully a lot of balancing and quality of life updates. Not the flashiest things to work on but just that can completely transform a game for the better. Make some currently non-meta weapons more usable, probably nerf a few op ones. I'd like to see the death system revamped because apart from dirt walls its seems to be the number 1 area where people resort to immersion breaking cheesing, that would be a controversial one though I imagine.
Well, balancing and QOL updates (if any were even necessary) will come with 1.0 not afterwards.
Often with QOL updates, you dont know you needed something until you have it.
Yeah, I think the upcoming combat "fix" shows that being their plan.
The PTB for the North will be before 1.0.
No, I tend to find that what people class as QOL updates just makes the game too easy or misses the point of the game entirely.
Mods will address most of those QoL desires.
IF we get a PTB.
I highly doubt that, as its already stated that they don't want any of the content being spoiled on YouTube and Twitch before the 1.0 release.
Smiffe has said both options several times. I think they just haven't decided yet.
Haven't they stated that before every PtB?
Not to the same extent. This is the end of the game, not just another biome. A very different experience.
QoL mods are also a good source of finding out what needs to be in the base game. Satisfactory had limited horizontal nudging, a mod allowed removal of the limit and added vertical nudging. Latest game updated added both to the base game.
Yeah, but none of us were supposed to spoiler anything, yet the you tubers did it anyways.
I've done every PTB since H & H and even I'm not sure I'd take part in a 1.0 PTB.
The problem with "QoL" is that what one person calls an improvement, another person may consider as a downgrade.
Like the "crafting from chests" that's been suggested a few thousand times.
Personally I think it's a downgrade, as it means you don't need to carry anything along, only need to keep your storage in the workbench range.
While when you need to carry the stuff, the chests needs to be close enough to your workbenches to actually bring the stuff over without running out of stamina.
And yes, I've experienced both things in the games I play and guess what; the moment I was able to craft from chests I still took things in my inventory, as I had a much better idea of what amount of resources I had.
I guess its splitting hairs but QOL in my mind doesnt change any gameplay otherwise it wouldnt meet that definition anymore, it changes how you interface with the gameplay. As an example, a button which sorts everything in a chest by meta level descending would be QOL. You havent changed how that chest will fit into the gameplay, you havent given it more slots or allowed bigger stacks, the chest is no more powerful than before you just changed how you interact with it.
I stopped doing the PTB's because I want to be as "in the dark" about the new content as my wife is.
That's one example, yes, but you even mention several other changes that ARE 'QoL' mods that exist that would utterly change how you play the game.
Just the farming mods I have heard about would make a huge difference in game play.
π€·ββοΈ definitions are always slippery at the best of times
No, definitions help define the world around us.
Both can be true
No, if you use them correctly, there's no confusion.
Yeah, but only one is accurate. The other is mostly wishful thinking. Or often is, at least.
What is correct is very subjective though lol.
Truth is rarely subjective. Its reality.
In biology its really hard to pin down what the definition of life or species is
Um, no.
Ok, and now we're just going into tangent land so I'll drop from this conversation. Silly hour is upon us.
Yeah, probably best just move on now. As a biologist, I am feeling deeply offended right now.
I'm going off what my understanding is. Isnt it true that viruses may or may not count as 'life' for example?
I'm literally reading the preface of the wikipedia article about species and its already touched on how the definition of a species is not entirely straightforwards. Thats what I'm saying.
We don't have viruses in Valheim. Unless your anti-virus program is messing up.
Anything else regarding biological viruses belongs imho in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202174832729661470
Or some other conspiracy site.
Its only 9th π
They usually come near end of the month
but we didnt get one during july lol im just so looking forward to it thats why
Yeah devs were on vacation π so no devblog from july
After halfway of month at earliest when I'd expect a new blog post.
it's not montly
But it's definitely monthly.
is it?
No, I was joking.
You said it wasn't montly so I joked that it was monthly instead. Not a very good joke admittedly.
I know, sorry.
Viruses are not "alive" in the general sense of the term no
Oh God, I thought we'd moved on.
Technically it was monthly until July.
Aw shiet my bad I just arrived
You've just arrived so thought replying to a comment from an hour and a half ago made sense?
Yes derek please forgive me I wasn't paying attention
On this occasion, sure.
From November to July to be totally precise π€
Hmm, I just counted this year. But you were more precisely correct on that regard.
Hehe, the main point is that there is no guarantee that they will be every month so lets leave it at that π
Canβt guarantee that the planet will still be around next month
Update delayed: Earth destroyed
supposed to say that in other server just ignore me, lol
Olga never forgets
Hey! Is the Microsoft Store trial for Valheim, ten hours of playtime or just ten hours of real time since starting the trial, if anyone knows?
10 hours of game time would be about 10 minutes of real time, so my guess is that itβs for 10 hours of real time
I think they are meaning if its 10h of gameplay or if 10h countdown starts once they start the trial π
Also Valheim in Ashlands isnβt play, itβs work. Hard work.
am i missing something or do crossbows just have crazy slow lvling speed due to their attack speed?
They indeed are slow to level up, the reload time goes down as you level up tho π
real hours
when do you think the deep north update will come out?
Deep north in 2025 is a bit ambitious
I think it'll be released the moment the devs think it's ready.
i personally reckon somewhere between aug 2026 and jun 2027, but it's up to the devs as Thorin said
yeah i agree, definitely sometime in the future. could be 3, could 4... but not 5.
Iβm trying to break the inner tower of a charred fortress. Can you break those walls with a bettering ram?
Any word on when the update will come?
Well.....
Iβm thinking of the smaller update theyβve mentioned, with some combat improvements?
how often does the raids happen on the more setting, we are playing on hard mode and the raids are set on more, just curious
Raid interval of 28 min with a 33% chance to happen given u have the prereqs for the raid to happen
For a reference frame, raids on norm is every 46 min with a 20% chance
We really don't know all that much, hopefully there's a blogpost that talks about it this month
u guys know when the deep north release is?
We duuno but Deep north in 2025 is a bit ambitious
thank you
Genuinely, how do you protect from troll raids in the early-mid game?
bronze atgeir is the best defense
The best defenses are either a ditch or raised dirt wall, or both.
Against anything that does not fly.
Im talking about protecting your base from being flattend...
I am too. Nothing that does not fly ever gets past those.
They can get past the raised dirt walls if you do not make sure to have them straight enough on the outside.
I would rather not have the ugly dirt walls.
It just seems like they dont want you to before you unlock turrets, whenever that is.
Ashlands, and you can always cover the dirt walls with the stone walls, etc...
Trolls will be the least of your worries, eventually. I prefer to keep my stuff from being destroyed, or my getting killed. So I invest fully in my defenses.
I don't do it all at once, but in stages. as I get the better materials.
Trolls are easy enough to kill at range, just be sure to lead them away from your base should a raid happen. I like to build a watchtower perimeter for every option against enemies.
I don't blame you for not wanting a dirt wall, it looks bad and is just plain avoiding raid's intended mechanics. If you're going to raise dirt walls, just turn off raids imo.
Bro, the tide can be so annoying... Like building a dock and all of a sudden, storm comes through and the entire thing is underwater lol
Iβm thinking about making me a tower in the Black Forest as a kind of outpost I would like a little fire but I canβt place a fire up high
you get hearths eventually but
you COULD raise ground, place a campfire, lower ground and boom campfire high
Man these greydwarf brutes are so annoying
yeah. their attack pattern is rather direct
I prefer a ditch - it looks better imo (better view) and it is easier to kill the enemies by shooting from the safe place
how do you handle ditches near the sea where the greydwarfs seem to be able to just swim around? do you raise the earth there? put up spikes?
Why would folks use Swords ? Using iron as an example, the axe does more Slash damage and you can chop down trees with it.
I just extend a stake wall deep into the water and around base so they dont see in and dont want to go inside π
aye, seems to be the way to do it
Better dps π
I alway wonder if its worth going sword. Feels like the meta is mace, but would I be at a bigg disadvantage if using sword?
so maybe make dry moat awaay from water but close enough to ocean then? would that be the best way?
Swords/slash dmg is quite versitile, blunt is too ofcourse. And swords dont have multitarget penalty.
I mean, just off the coast, so you have a ditch all around instead of on 3 sides like you would if you built on the coast
Depends which noise π also, what is "one screen" range?
1h swords have no MTP and also have much stronger secondary attack than 1h axes.
But nowadays I usually go with battleaxe, both woodcutting and no MTP for primary hits.

Knockback is situational at best π and really not a reason for you to die for.
Less knockback means that you will be able to connect more hits together meaning faster enemy kill. If you like it tho it is very good for crowd control π
https://youtu.be/DKq4Ome2nMk?si=9Vi9yLWoUzyfQLFJ A paid modded version of valheim
Is this even allowed?
Paid mods are against EULA.
Afaik patreon is optional.
Axe secondary has 1.5x damage, sword secondary has 3x damage
1h sword also doesn't suffer from mtp
But you die faster with them!! Apparently....
Scale issue
Swords will prob mean you die more because there's very little push form the weapon. You will get hit alot more.
Yea that's just wrong
And what are you buying?
Mods...
The ones from Krumpac are free from what i saw, hence why i am asking.
Honestly if you look at what Krumpac has done they might as well have made their own given how different to Valheim it now is.
I made a mistake naming my first two chickens
Now when I go to murder the rest of them I'm always terrified I'll knife the wrong ones lol
Actually, looking at their Thunderstore page, it seems they've changed things after talking to IG so maybe it's not as problematic.
Man i got 9 surtling cores π
@merry pebble I'm so lucky that I got 3 hunting raids in 3 in-game days at that spot... π https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202267437647527977
Oooof, that is quite unlucky xD you might consider actually putting 3 player base items around to get other raids.
I don't want any raids when I'm farming. (ΰ₯ΕΜ₯Μ₯Μ₯Μ₯ΧΕΜ₯Μ₯Μ₯Μ₯) ΰ₯
Well, at least it's the first run where I don't have any problems farming wolves....
True that π
@west mica Because I have drop rate * 3, I got 26 and a half stacks of silver from that spotπ
I spent so long mining under this copper and now its just floating
The pop technique is rarely worth it for copper as the hotbox is often below the dig limit.
oh well, i have a lot of stone now haha
you cant dismantle items right? accidentally made a 2nd troll tunic
Nope you cant
its gonna take a while running all this ore to my base haha
Just played the game after a long time.. what are the barrels for? Just storage?
Yep, better storage than basic chests π
Also better looking.
I assume theyre worse than the reinforced chests though right?
Indeed
A shame. Theyre no use to me then. Thanks for the answer tho!
Also is anything known about the next big update? Like the next biome thing
You can use them as scattered storage around your base since they look quite good imo π
Sorry I havent been caught up with things for a while now haha
Not much info appart from whats in #news, it is probably not gonna be out this year tho. And we wil get one more, bit smaller update before it which will tweak combat on sloped surfaces. π
Yeah Im not expecting this year either. Good to know combat is getting tweaked though, always a hassle fighting on high ground
Speaking of updates I should really find Hildir and the Bog Witch.. my duo I play with on my server just refuses to play until the next big update π
New to the game is the combat souls like?
For sure do π especially Bog Witch sells quite a few good things
You can roll xD
Havent heard or seen anything about her, what does she do? Just alchemy stuff for mead and such?
What about lock on?
Nope
She sells ingredients for different meads and feasts.
Whad Joel said π
OH RIGHT feasts are a thing I totally forgot thats awesome
Also some other items like serving tray and scythe handle that unlocks after defeating the 4th boss.
Whats the scythe do? Is there a multiplier to the crops you harvest with it or is it just like the atgeirs
You can harvest multiple crops at once with it
So you dont have to click on each one
So just like the atgeir?
Atgeir doesn't lvl up the farming skill scythe does
Oh okay cool
Atgeir can do that only to flax and barley, scythe to most crops
Hell yeah. Need to get working on finding these new merchants then. Sailed south a lot but my world is very old, pre Mistlands. Gotta sail north to find new meadows and swamps
Good luck

I think it took me close to 30 nights on the mountain to catch that guy. I'd set everything up on the mountain and work on my base during the day, then portal back up when night fell. Fortunately I had practice catching the no star/1 stars and this was first 2* I'd seen during the entire process.
I think it took an average of 15 nights for the 2 star to finally show up for my play throughs, so 30 nights is entirely possible.
I no longer rely on breeding them anymore, I just count on being Hunted often enough. π
You might want to secure few more starred of those by taming another one and breeding them there to get starred pups.
Sounds like me doing night shifts in the swamps to kill enough wraiths for chains for my black metal shield
Then I immediately found an equally sized stack of chains in the first dungeon I did after that
Lol we just had infinite ghost raids so
I only had one and I think I was still in swamps at the time, if not that deffinitely mountains. I wasnt confident with raids either so I was still just hiding in my house, I could see them partially clipping through the walls all over the place not sure if they'd find a gap it was legitimiately terrifying.
At night too obviously.
Tbh I was confident with defending raids the second they started coming, I wanted to protect my own private domicile at all costs, so any raid that came I was instantly out of the house ready to slaughter
I tried hiding through a troll raid. You can imagine how that went.
I did not protect my domicile.
Oh god yeah troll raids sucked before I had some actual spears and stuff
Now its just a burden as we don't need anything from em
Seems like anytime I want to go sailing, the wind is blowing the opposite direction that I want to go. So frusterating
The funny thing is that weather is predetermined π
Yet when you get the Moder power you will hardly ever use it.
I think most of the powers other than Bonemass are underwhelming.
Would be nice if they were just passive affects to show your power growth.
I use Eikthyr's power far more than any other. I haven't used Bonemass' power in a long time.
Also the 20min cooldown is disincentivizing tbh. How likely are you to time your cooldown with when you need it.
Moder
Pre bonemass
That is true. I think it has to do with accounting for multi player.
I just never go to the stones so never changed it from moder back to bonemass even if it would help out a ton in te mistlands
Usually you use the power onve in an hour or less
I have a portal to the stones. I still don't go to switch out powers.
At least for me
Me too
I actually never use them, because they feel so underwhelming. They dont really change much unless its moder and bonemass.
I forgot to take any power this playthrough, still playing without one even when i remembered i could go get it. No problems at all.
I find Eikthyrs power to be very useful. Which is why I have it 98% of the time.
I find it useful for corpse recovery, but otherwise meh.
Also just exploring
They def were a lifesaver in my early plains days with bonemass
Combine that with the meads, and I fly through the Mistlands. Even without the cape. π
But elder esp is so bad
Bonemass power is honestly ridiculously op π
50%, but thats still ginourmous ammount π
Yeah I need to get that (even if I have no issues surviving the mistlands usually)
But iirc it reduces it before armor is applied so it feels like much more
-# Somebody might want to fact check this just in case tho~
Before armor is insane
I've still only died 8 times in a 540 game day run. I don't really need the powers, aside from Eikthyr.
only? Ive died 8 times in 2 in-game days after finding a swamp island like
I def have around 50 deaths in 260 days
Well, I do have a heck of a lot of experience. I am over 4500 hours.
Yeah
In my first couple of hundred hours of playing, I died a lot. Then I started doing Zero Death solo runs, and got a lot better.
I even got to the Queen without dying. Then she trashed me.
π
I can beat her now, but I have not tried another Zero Death run.
I probably never will.
I've got a pack of no-stars roaming outside my base, a pack of 1-stars inside, and I've already got the 2-star in the breeding pen with a 1-star, they'll pop out a 2-star pup soon enough - then I can isolate both of them π
I made the mistake of having wolves outside of my base. Once. They bred soooooo much that my computer started freezing up.
I like the stamina boost power for Ekythir - I use it all the time
I think I've got things clear enough and have the spaced far enough apart they aren't breeding (not enough food sources) so far I haven't seen any new pups outside
I pick my bases to have a lot of neck, deer, and boar near by. So I just stopped breeding them outside of my base.
I've stopped breeding them, period. Being Hunted supplies me/us with plenty.
So when you get the hunting raid you trap and tame those wolves?
No, I/we just kill 30 to 42 every time.
Oh oh oh, you mean plenty for meat/hides and stuff - I've got an idea to bring a hunting pack of 2* along with me to the plains and such, just roam with a pack, and they can kill peripheral mobs while I focus on other things.
We'll see how that goes
I've done that. Its fun. I just can't do things like that with my wife. Her lap top can't handle more than around 4 wolves without starting to have lag issues.
Ok glad to know it works in principle - so wait - 30-42 wolves show up in a raid?
Its a lot
Holy crap
They continue spawning untill the raid ends
There is some max number there can be at once and when you kill some the raid will spawn more to get to that number again.
Yeah
Yeah, 42 is the most we have killed ourselves.
Do they spawn even if ur outside the raid zone tho
We often have help from the locals, and get less. π
Infinite meat farm if outside base
Well, I haven't killed bonemass yet, I'm building my outer defensive wall still - when that's done then I'll move along π
I don't think so? I have never tried, since I do want it to end.
I mean one level of stakewall is strong enough
Until
Hey robert should I invest in the premium stakewalls
Right - that's why a (at least double stone thick) wall is going up above the stakes
I don't know, I use raised earth, then stone over that. So I've never used them.
Moats keep them at a distance, but I haven't dug those in a long time either.
Water is great for slowing down seekers, though. So maybe I should.
Anyone else not bother with Meat Platters, and just hunt Serpents instead?
I use what i have π
I do too, just when I run short, I much rather just hunt Serpents, than Lox, seekers and Hares.
Hmm, nowadays I save hare meats for misthare supremes I use to make Mistlands feasts.
I pretty much never run out of seeker meat, lox usually too, and hares... if i have some meat i will use it but dont hunt them, i use other hp food when necessary
We haven't gone to the Ashlands yet, so don't have that feast yet.
IE we have not beat the Queen. Haven't even gotten to her location yet.
Mountain feast + Plains feast + Honey glazed chicken/Serpent stew during Mistlands era, chicken is good if I have low serpent meat and decent chicken pen.
Hare is the biggest limitation for us. Chicken we do fine on. We can breed 70 at a time. Reminds us of our real life farming days. π
70 AT A TIME?
Yeah, we have 8 pens set up.
Damn
There is no limit on how many eggs can hatch π
Yall really are good at stockpiling resources
If there is too many chickens they will not lay more however.
Lots and lots of practice. Even my wife has over 1000 hours in Valheim.
Nice, I usually keep one coop with 3-4 chickens laying eggs, then cull them to get 10-15 chicken meat at once.
In a given area. We have them spread out, on two of our bases.
We literally build chicken houses.
2 breeders per house. We don't bother with omelets, or the angler fish meal. Just chicken meat.
The Salad is very easy to keep up on the mats for.
I usually go for 2 stamina meals so i like omelettes very much π
With the Eikthyr power and the meads, I usually go for 2 HP foods. Especially since I am the only one who uses a shield. So only one stamina food.
Even more so if I am eating Feasts. Those give a ton of stamina.
HFF is nowadays my go-to food setup.
Yeah, I use 2 feasts whenever I am not in the Mistlands.
Anybody know which colors we should get if we're looking to paint the Valheim Board-Game's figurines?
Hello gentlemen
My friend has this game, thatβs why i joined the discord
I havenβt checked anything out yet Iβm hoping someone can answer really quick, can I play with him? Is it multiplayer?
yes
Yep co-op is possible π
But maximum is 10 people on one world
looking for someone to play with with i just started a new world
which colors?
Ah I see
theres a board gamw?
You can look and make post in #1024264966712340510 π
What would be the best description possible you have for this game
Yep, currently its in production
Valheim: The Board Game is a 1-4 player cooperative board game where survival depends on teamwork and strategy. Assemble your band of warriors and venture forth to explore, expand your homestead, gather resources, forge powerful weapons, equip sturdy armor, battle evil creatures, and carve your path towards facing the ultimate evil, the Forsaken...
Yes. We should be getting it soon.
Well people here are from all over the world so not everyone will be active all the time π
You can pre-order the standard and deluxe edition π
yeah. boardgames nowdays are quite exiensive if you want the full kit
Just the paint colors to paint the STL miniatures. I was hoping maybe the team would list the colors as an add-on on the board-game pledge or something, but no info was given
i feel like this game is dieing
Feeling doesn't equal to fact. Currently 18600+ people playing on Steam.
- quite a bit more on Xbox and Mac presumably π
not saying anything bad im just having a hard time find someone to play a new world with
That doesnt mean the game is dying, just that not many people are looking to Co-op
Or theyre playing with friends of their own etc
You searched in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510, right? Sometimes it takes time due to timezones etc. It's night time in EU.
understandable
tbh i think the majority of players are just waiting for combat update to log back in
Im waiting for any update tbh
?
Next update fixes combat
There is gonna be an update that tweaks combat on slopes, adds new armor and few more things somewhat "soon".
Sloped combat is the main part
Its a nightmare fighting anything on a slight incline lmao
Yeah
true
I almost died to a seeker coz of stairs
i have almost 100hrs but i havent play in afew years so i just want to dive back in
It's something to get used to, lol. Probably the update makes combat more enjoyable, especially if it affects to enemy mobs too so it doesn't become too cheesable.
A lot of new content for you then.
lol i wouldnt know
like a minature painting guide? π€
That's...impressive.
Welcome to the club! Hyper will be delighted to hear that π

They need a title now, "Picker of birds".

Played this game when it was on game pass and wanted to give it another shot, are there any servers for console that have an active community for/with newer players?
#1024264966712340510 is a good place to find servers.
Highest Rocky chain: 6
I've wrote in a few and still going through the list, figured I ask here too. Just looking to get a feel for the Xbox side of things, I can see I need to get back on PC for this game asap π
Are birds only valid targets while landed?
Iβve hit tons of birds in the air, but all of those are only when the bird initially starts flying from the ground. Not sure if theyβre targetable all the way in the sky
Although Deathsquitos are targetable in the air
why does the drakkar have such a small sail it looks very strange somehow
yes
so you can actually see where you're going
why do we need to see where we are going, it's not interesting)
in the ashlands I already crash into rocks so I don't see the difference. the ashlands are hell for solo players
Yeah I get the impression that there are way more spawners and mobs then any other biome.. I just landed to be busy with fighting them from dusk till dawn.. Finally I got a portal there and shield generator, but I think I will take my rod and go fishing in the meadows for the coming weeks π
#valheim-chat message this seems to work much better now indeed.. Thanks again for the tip π still struggles in the Ashlands though, but more playable then before
I'm getting close to taking on The Queen and I'm legit terrified of starting the Ashlands, in particular how hard it is to set up a beach head
I was planning on sailing along the coat to see if there's anywhere quiet with no spawners nearby, maybe a small island off the coat which is close enough to put up a bridge
I will personally try to delay the ashlands and queen as long as possible
I don't want to rush anymore
Well, "rush" I have 200 hours at mistlands
I need to level up my magic skills before the queen anyway though I just died in a stupid way which has the opposite effect ugh. At least with the other bosses it was possible to level up all your gera to 4 if youre willing to grind to give yourself an extra edge.
crashing into things as you drive is bad π
I will be leveling blood magic with either a draugr spawner or a greydwarf spawner not sure which yet but yk really need to grind to magic but I need sapppppp
30 minute cruise to bring fucking 5 black metal
Omg I know
Why did no one tell me to bring black metal to mistlands haha
Fr
If you havent done it already, dont bring just 5
I would bring enough for 4 extractors. It might be overkill but you will speedrun having enough eitr for everything that way. Often roots are very close to each other, so you can use multiple extractors on the same root to drain it in a day or so, then switch to the 2nd or 3rd root whilst the 1st one recharges.
Yeah
Its OK to have the extractors out in the open in my experience. Mobs dont seem to target them very much.
Putting defenses up just for that isnt necessary imo
Yeah
I'm building out both a heavy armor and magic set at the same time. Both breath new life into the game, but the new magic items especially.
I loove my heavy armor
Whats the best build for fader? I already beat him once with my usual style but i wanna kill him again for another head, this time with a diferent build maybe
you are unlikely to succeed, the waters of the ash lands are full of rocks, but if you settle on these rocks, then brrr, the volcanic bitches will get you everywhere and it will not eliminate the problem of moving around the ash lands themselves. in general, stone embankments are our everything)
What was your usual style? Berserkir axes deal quick damage for melee. Trollstav and Staff of Wild is safe bet for mageplay.
Just kill itβ’
It was dyrnwyn and tower shield
Guess gonna try double axes now
How about armor? Flametal?
a small idea you can settle right in the lava on the flame-metal pillars and then you will be almost unreachable
I prefer Ask set. Set bonus is nice and no movement speed penalty is great.
π thx
1 hp food 1 stam food and 1 feast sounds good i guess?
Or two feasts 1 hp
Might be able to do shield on myself with the mana from double feast
Yeah, Mistlands and Ashlands feast combo is great. Then stamina or HP, whichever you prefer.
but he needs to kill the progenitor for the feast of the ashlands
Already did, going 2nd time
They said already beaten.
Also want to mention, while thunder axes deal some extra damage occasionally, jade axes are also great since the rooting effect affects to bosses too.
Rooted bosses cant say no
Something like that idk
Well, the rooting prevents them moving or turning but they can still attack when you're on their sight.
Sight doesnβt matter, each attack has a different angle for triggering and some are 360 degrees. Being behind something wonβt stop them either.
Yeah i got ur point, i can avoid getting attacked if i just stop him from turning
Hmmm at least i can avoid his melees, ik theres still gonna be fire and meteors
Hmm, at least Yagluth is helpless if you keep being behind his back as he turns very slowly.
Maybe Fader is built differently.
His only attack with a 360 degree attack trigger is his spin, everything else is 180 or less
Oh ye forgot
Yagluthβs biggest attack trigger is 90 degrees
Hello any info about patch with combat changes release date? I want to start new world and Iβm waiting for some new featured.
No new info yet, nope.
You will get pinged when there is something new in #news π
The moment I see this with a red circle with a number I am dropping whatever I am doing and dead sprinting to open valheim
Well in that channel it will most likely be a devblog or something, the #valheim-patchnotes and #public-test-patchnotes channels on the other hand
Why does xbox gotta pay 20 dollars for the game now bro
Because that is the normal price?
You were expecting it for free?
I had it for free up until ashlands came out I paid for gamepass which it was included
It is gone from gamepass since contract ended, that was in autumn last year iirc.
Is there any plans to get that contract back up again ?
Not that we know of
Tragic guess I'll just have to shell out the 20 bucks i was just asking before I pulled the trigger
No none-Microsoft studios games has been on GamePass for ever.
can i swim down in water?
Don't think so
Not without using mods.
so if a building is in the water what then lol
Say what? You found one of those ruined buildings underwater?
idk its like a tower circling down
Ah, you dont need to go down there π
Thats only one time spawner for certain enemy usually and not even always
ohh
you can find towers where they arent even there?
wait im thinking of wrong tower
They mean the pits with spiral staircases on the outside π
They sometimes have a one time spawner of draugr elite on the bottom
yea
how much of a pain are the raid rates in hardcore? I might just turn raids off tbh I don't like em
