maybe deep north?
Plot twist, we need multiple black metal picks, one for each type of gem. And gems become common in DN like surtling cores do from forest -> swamp
Trollstav is flametal pick
i really hope thats not the logic going forward
We don’t know if there will be anything new to mine so maybe we don’t need one
nope
That probably would be terrible anyway, that's good
i havent gotten that staff yet or even messed around with it
Overkill flametal pickaxe
but the black metal pickaxe is not made from flametal
and only flametal can be infused due to it's properties
hi guys, asking politely about the update? me and my brother cant wait to make a base in deep north! 😄 when is it gonna come?? is it near??
No one knows unfortunately. Maybe early 2026 as a guess?
next year summer it is then 😢
There's an update before deep north and that has yet to happen
but yeah wouldn't rush it to make it perfect :)) good luck devs
Currently I'm maybe more excited of the combat update honestly.
I fear they're gonna miss some pretty easy layups but we'll see
New combat update?
Yes, coming up before Deep North.
Nicee
There are few things teased, like ||new armor set (and maybe a fist weapon)|| and ||archery target you can retrieve arrows from||.
And slope combat improvement.
The amount of times the slightest elevation have prevented any and all damage from either me or my target are too many to count. I can't wait for slope combat improvements.
Just move. Works great.
I do. But I try to attack my target first.
I've played the game from start to finish plenty of times. It's best not to assume I don't know what I'm doing or how to solve an issue in the game.
Did I?
From the sound of things, yes. That sarcastic comment made me think you didn't know what I was doing. I know how elevation works in this game.
I hope we can see how it’s changed soon. Maybe Hervor fights on a slope in the next video before she dies because she used Jotun Bane.
The Jotun Bane. I remember that pre-ashlands. For some reason, I was using that for cutting wood instead of a black metal axe. It seems more useful for combat, now that I've completed a solo file.
W
I will be hosting a massive party if Hervor Bloodtooth dies, bring your own mead ofc
The name sounds familiar. That's the fictional character from the Valheim comic series, right?
She's the character that features in the deep north teasers
Well, I was somewhat close. Maybe I should catch up on the teasers.
That reminds me of the icy spider thought I had for the deep north. It's strange, but I kind of want to mash up their corpses into a mead base. Wouldn't be the first time I've played a game with a spider corpse in the alcohol. Flavor: Tastes of death. Texture: Crunchy.
Spiders were rejected for Mistlands. Can't see them coming back.
Aw. Nothing wrong with some creepy, delicious crawlies. Oh well.
Well, there is for a lot of people. And also, they're a bit obvious. Devs words, not mine.
Big spiders is quite boring consept tbh.
Indeed overdone. But they're good protein. Delicious, bitter protein.
Well, at least Grounded 2 is being released into early access in 13 days, so I could get my spider fix there.
I think it would be cool if the || enemy featured in the deep north dungeon could climb on the walls in the dungeon ||
Which one was teased?
||Elaking||, right?
ye
It would work well with the seamingly dark environment they're going for
I guess that wouldn’t be too bad if slope changes allow us to attack high enough
The ||bigger looking thing|| didn't look like it could.
I can hope
🤞
What if it climbs up then falls down for an aoe attack like the sledgehammers
Reminders me of the creatures from legend of zelda spirit tracks that you'd fight in the caves lol
Full body slam!
Snorlax! Use Body Slam!
But what if it's ghost-type?
Okay, so with a bit of experience under my belt, Swamp is no longer quite as scary.
nice
I enjoy swamps
Swamps is one of my favourite biomes I don’t get why so many people hate it
Yes you need to grind a lot of iron but going though dungeons is so much better than sitting still and mining through a single chunk of ore
A “storm” where it stops raining in swamps occasionally would be cool
Mining around copper is so boring..
Added with rushing without rested, bad foods and armor, sprinting all the time and not leaving when night comes.☝️
Yea those are beginner mistakes, and swamp is imo the end of the beginner part of the game
So it's slightly excusable, because the game really never punished you for doing those things until the swamp happened
‘Brutal’ survival game not being brutal enough 😔
Trolls say hi too.
Saw someone complain big time about Swamps the other day, meanwhile they were running in with Cooked Boar Meat, Raspberries, and Cooked Deer Meat, as well as a Bronze Spear w/ no Shield or Buckler
No shield is ok if you play right but I doubt a new player would be doing that
Surviving Seeker raid with Crystal battleaxe was easier than surviving Horde raid with the same weapon.
I mean, yeah, good players can make it work, but ultimately only pierce damage with no shield is still just a handicap in the Swamp.
Really hope your suggestion happens
Against anything but an abomination and Bonemass atgeirs do pretty well in swamps and that’s pierce damage + no shield
Well yeah, but that's also because Atgeirs are kind of insane.
Two handed weapon, so high base damage, on top of good reach, giga stagger on the secondary attack, and again the secondary attack just being great against groups of Draugr/Skeletons.
But tbh, maybe I should rephrase to specifically "Spear with no shield", since it's exclusively pierce and doesn't have the other benefits of the Atgeir.
So mb.
You actually stated "bronze spear w/ no shield/buckler" in your earlier comment.
I meant in this message.
It was a kind of broad statement that lacks context.
Yeah, feel free to compare by yourself too. Horde: #memes-and-clips message and Seeker: #memes-and-clips message
they should give the raft 84 inventory slots
I was right, my mouse was going bad. With my new one I will definitely feel a lot less stressed fighting. Its been crazy struggling just to turn around, let alone attack or block.
Swamps just puts a lot of new stuff onto a new player for the first time.
First biome which almost always requires you to sail for the first time to discover
First biome which makes you consider base location and its importance (to process the iron)
First biome where the regular enemies don’t fuck around
First biome which requires intentional preparation for less you get ur butt kicked
Imo the difference between Meadows to Black Forest and Black Forest to Swamps is the same as Geeked vs. Locked In
The swamps taught me the importance of the jump and run skills.
which suggestion? 🤔
battleaxe suggestions?
Those would be the most welcome too.
one thing at a time
But yeah, like I stated above, current Seeker raid was much easier to deal than Fuling raid in those video clips.
Anyone else had this issue especially to people with big bases? #steam-bugs-discussion message
So random question.
Is there any particular reason why the cost-benefit ratio of a 2x1 stone wall is so horrifically bad when the 4x2 stone wall exists?
I get that the smaller pieces probably should have worse ratios but you could half the cost of a 2x1 stone brick and it's still less cost efficiency than 4x2. And 4x2 stone walls are ugly as hell.
they should cost more, even if the total of the combined pieces are more then the 4x2; a good reason for that at least imo, if you stagger them it provides better stability over all width wise, if a mob comes and breaks a 4x2 piece and lets say its a crucial structural piece required to hold up whats above it will cause a lot of things to fall after said piece is destroyed, where as the 2x1 pieces when staggered one can break and the rest will be able to support the pieces above
Even if a 2x1 stone brick costs 2 stone though it's still more expensive than a 4x2
Like I get that there should be a tradeoff but the efficiency ratio is so bad right now it's actually ridiculous
where i dont exactly agree with the cost of the pieces i can understand why the devs made it way and really i think it just comes down to stability
The 4x2 stone piece is probably not meant to be used for making bases/houses but used as cheap perimeter defense
you can use em inside the base where its not going to get damaged as well, or behind a wall of chests
It can still be used for building bases yeah but the downside what you said cel
Stability
they are good for use in areas where you can sac the stability and save some materials, and as black said as well they are good for cheap perimeter defenses
Stone in the early game is quite hard to get in large quantities until you get to mountains, plains, or ashlands
Yes stone is abundant but to get enough to use it for building bases ehhh I rather use that time to progress and get a better way of gathering stone
any of the ruins pre mistlands are all good examples of how the stability plays out when using the smaller pieces IE the black forest ruins that have some of the pieces missing from them
If I hadnt progressed to ashlands I would have spent so much time mining away getting stone for my base
Decided to try out the Battleaxe and man... it bullies Abominations
Axe do be chopping that wood.
Heck yeah!
Feels a bit lacking in comparison to the Atgeir, but... hey, it's cool.
It definitely takes some time to get used to. It has higher stagger multiplier and no multi target penalty for primary attacks and the quick secondary attack also has high stagger and huge knockback.
Battle axes along with greatswords are my favorite weapon types
Most weapons lack in comparison to the ageir. Single target, crowd control, and shield all bundled into one weapon without many downsides.
Man I love this game
What do you love about it?
Is everything too broad?
Nah I get it, Valheim does a lot of things extremely well!
The different biomes, all the things you can do.. you dont always have to just fight.. you can build a lot of cool things as well. You?
The simplicity- the game is really easy to grasp and continues to add new features and content as your progress.
The style, music, and lighting are extremely good.
Numerous features are done really well; the building, food system, base progression.
The game rewards for being prepared but the game also rewards you for making cool stuff
Also, this is a weird one, but I appreciate that the game is lengthy. I feel like a lot of games these days are afraid to hide a lot of their game behind progression and secrets. Game simply don’t have to be high-energy all the time. We see a lot of terms like “grindy” and “quality of life” that are just so casually used
but often times it’s the grind and the work that goes into your adventure that actually makes the experience enjoyable over a long period of time.
Even the simple renovation of your house is a chore but my god is it so worth it
Oh 100%, redoing the entire kitchen when the food prep table was released was a fun project for me.
Same my new kitchen is gigantic compared to my old crappy unorganized kitchen
But now my new kitchen is extremely and utterly organized that I dont even know what chest to open
thats how organize it is
That is literally 1 out of the 4 others Ive done
I still have the perimeter wall, dock house, smelting hub, and portal hub
It is IRL too
As a person who likes everything tidy as it can possibly be this is too good
Hello, good evening. Not to yap but do we have any expected date for the update?
no
It is what it is 🙃
Can confirm, I replaced some light fixtures the other day and they look neat
I dusted and vacuumed my room a couple of weeks ago and it feels about the same as before
Also, it’s long and incredibly replay-able because every world is different
@shy marlin I tiny update on the kitchen and storage, ive flared it up a bit
I had to improvise with the barrel and chest stacking
i still prefer black metal for most everything when it becomes available, but i tend to keep most everything i come across
My original storage was packed with iron chest but switch to BMC due to how cheap it is and how easily accessible bm is
posted some SS's of my kitchen this run
Love to see them mega kitchens
the last one i had was kinda crampt so i wanted to make this one a bit bigger
i like the oven
fits nicely in those marble corners
but all in all almost all the builds ive done this run ive been rather happy with
I organized mine via biome progression
i kinda did that but tried to break up with meats/veggies/sweets
I seperated mine via ready|farmables|foragables|creatures
love that they gave us the ivy vines to use for decorating
I might add this aswell after im done making my main bae
gotta plant em keep that in mind
or plant em prior let them attach then finish building
i had to wait forever for things to grow on the front of my base before i could finish it off
🤞 Hervor Bloodtooth downfall
🙏
Why
How many valheim protagonist do we have now
She is in the deep north using jotun pain. She deserves failure.
Imagine the enemies just one shot her
Major W if so
that axe does suck
hi guys anyone new to the game im looing for players to play with
check in #1024264966712340510
At least it's not porcupine
that was at least a decent weapon
I didnt even know jotun bane existed because I was so focused on the krom
i used it shortly and went back to the black metal axe
I only use axes for combat out of desperation. IE I was cutting down trees, got attacked, so stick with the axe.
Except the crystal axe and abominations.
the axes from ashlands are good other then you cant hit things that are lower then you atm, i still have to use black metal axe for trees and stumps
out of all the weapons those paired with the bloodstone seemed like a good match
I like the Crystal Axe for cutting down trees/buildings because of its AoE.
i havent messed with the crystal axe at all really i probably should
I find it to be fun. Its really great against abominations, but its a mountain weapon, so not really helpful when you need it much earlier. Unless you play like my wife and I do. We had silver well before we were done getting iron.
i will usually venture into the mountains before i kill bonemass to get the frostner and at minimum the wolf cape
We found a lot of silver rather easily this time around. Seemed like every time I thought it was a good spot for silver, it was.
ill usually find 3-4 veins without issue then stop til i get more into mountains
We did 4 or 5 veins before Bonemass. One was a double, so Frostner was level 3. Bonemass is rather easy with a lvl 3 Frostner.
nice, yea frostner is my goto when i get to mountains
that and the bow both are great weapons
I still prefer my iron mace with golems, but yeah, Frostner works fine with the wolves.
Makes the fulings rather easy too.
yea it does
Frostner is surprisingly useful in the Mistlands too.
i use it til i get mistwalker then switch to that
Yeah, I start using the black metal sword in the plains, mainly just to get my skill up. I miss the days when we could beat on trees for skill increases.
i just made a base around a greydwarf spawner and use that
Yeah, I have done that too. I just dig a pit around the spawner, let them fall in, etc...
Fishing is the only one I really work at, and only because of the foods.
im not to into the fish foods, fish wraps are good but sometimes im too far behind in fishing to bother; there is a little more of an incentive to fish for the meads added with the bog witch
i have too much fish now and nothing to do with it
I love it when I can set up those tidal catch traps. Not easy to find good spots for doing that, though.
i havent really tried those yet, if i want to finish getting all the levels of fish i need the skill to be up
northern salmon are killing my stam atm
Yeah, like I said, I am not worried about catching all the fish types. Just what I need for the foods.
im hoping they add more things to do with the other fish that have no point aside raw fish
Ashlands too. Frost just never goes out of style
Except maybe in Deep North
I have yet to spend a lot of time in the Ashlands. Maybe 10 hours, total.
I just put it in a spot it fit when it came out.
You can break the stumps with pickaxe too.
i didn't except this kind of bug in the game 😦
and idk how to solve that ( if someone know )
Sorry maybe I missed something, solve what?
check in dedicated issue , i'm in pain rn i cannot solve my problem and idk if someone know how :'
Are you able to get/make alcohol? Since we're sort of vikings i think it would be cool to get some beer with my friends
You can make meads from 2nd biome forward 🙂
Meads, but they don't get you drunk in that way. Tasty mead can be drank multiple portions in short duration (it lasts for 10 seconds and has no cooldown).
Ah okay thanks
Uuuuuuhmmmmm
What biome you in by the by…? 😅
Me getting flashbacks of someone in plains not knowing about making mead 😭
Same... Also those individuals who didn't farm single crop until Plains/Mistlands.
I know about mead making but must confess I was never enthused by making much meads beyond resistance meads
The healing/stam meads I knew were there but wasn't really enthused (mostly due to a mindset of not wanting to use potions in games).
The other meads didn't exist my first playthrough, stuff like ratatosk and berserkir is cool
I usually carry hp, Ratatosk and tasty/lingering stamina meads with me.
Yeah, I use ratatosk when exploring and running around, other meads not really, sometime i use them during bossfights 😄
Ratatosk almost all the time on, which is why finding those blueberry bushes early is really important.
Except in this run... 🥲
Heh, no mead runs, could do one myself 🤔
Sildar considering a no-mead run
.
.
.
No
Only annoying part would be mountains untill you get a cape 😄
Me and my friend just started, in the meadows
But I like to figure out how to make stuff myself so ill find out how to make it eventually
Hopefully
You will figure it out 😄
I like my mead for recreational purposes ok? 😂
I’ve done mountains with no cape/no mead
Doable - just not enjoyable 😅
takes a swig of his tasty mead

Everytime I go to the mountains i freeze🤣 im making better clothes tho soon haha
Mountains is the fourth biome, stay away for now
Or you could do a big brain move and make a log cabin and a campfire 👀
Just….
Don’t go out at night 😅
That, or if getting lucky and finding frost caves early.
Its so funny that i got to play with mods with some people... for .... 2hours? then they didn't want to play with me anymore.
good way to sell me mods. very good
i didn't touch valheim since
Dont use mods then 😄
Any challenge ideas for a world? Im getting bored of normal Valheim and playing alone.
Perma death?
Certain weapon type run?
Yeah i could try. Its just that im not that good at Valheim even tho I have 1300h.
What weapon type does not get much use like polearms. I have never used polearms in my life.
Sledges and battleaxes 🙂
Are sledges still a thing?
Why wouldnt they be?
I have done 3 perma runs since Ashlands: one was without magic, second was bows only and third was 2h weapon run* (*no bows/xbows, dual weapons and only armor that has no MS penalty).
Bc they are bad in my opinion. Because of the stamima that they use.
Wow, that must have been hard. I could try using only a certain weapon type.
Which one? I enjoyed the 2h weapon run.
Basically I used sledges, battleaxes, atgeirs and 2h swords.
Maybe something like that. I just can't think of a certain weapon type because some weapons you only get at a certain point of the game. For example Battleaxes.
Maybe just the category of Club weapons, which gives a very early option.
Yea or just Basic axes if you count them as a weapon.
Why wouldn't you? 😛
Axes are often defaulted to because of their high utility when exploring.
Battleaxes carried me quite far tbh. But yeah sadly there is none after mountain.
Still i use clubs mostly
Crystal Battleaxe is still quite useful in Mistlands/Ashlands
The crowd control and damage spread is still good into later biomes.
I like crystal battleaxe, but usually the movement debuff and long attack animation feels like a death sentence
The long attack animation isn’t too bad if you’re moving properly
But the movespeed reduction is too much
I can't believe Atgeirs only get -5%
#screenshots message This is really cool!
#building-screenshots message @wide dome UMM actually they’re called “Bukeperries”, not “Pukeberries.” 🤓 ☝️
Ummm actually... Their ID is indeed Pukeberries ☝️ 🤓
if anyone german sees this: would you like to play a new world duo or smthn like that
You can make a post in #1024264966712340510 😄 people usually look there when they want to play with someone.
thanks
Loving the Battleaxe more and more

I keep hearing their praises sung so I might just try them out on my next run.
Very slow, definitely takes a specific playstyle.
But if you're methodical, then the massive stagger on them feels great for essentially just doubling your damage.
Jump attacking helps a lot with the slow animations
I'll keep that in mind.
Parrying and the Secondary Attack has a lot of knockback too, so either of those into a jumping Primary Attack is great.
Secondary push then jump forward primary attack.
anyone wanna join a server
Someone in #1024264966712340510 might 😄
oh sorry
No worries
its on sight when i find rocky
I think I have officially fallen in love with the Battleaxe
battleaxe was my favorite weapon on my first playthrough. Even though it didn't feel as powerful as some of the other OP options
Does anyone know if the vr mod works on crossplatform multiplayer?
And do you ever unlock a bigger gate?
#mods-discussion will get better answers
It definitely is good, yes a bit slow, but effective when you get used to the first attack windup time. The ability to stagger easier with it is really nice.
Yes, in The ||Plains|| biome
Is there voice chat? I dont see any settings for it
There is no VOIP in game no
There Is only text chat in game, but discord can take care of voice chat easily 🙂
hey all, coming back to Valheim and used to use valheim-map quite a bit, I seem to remember it showing ore deposits, has that changed? Doesn't seem to any more or maybe I'm blind
I don't think it did show ore deposits 🤔
I might have dreamt it 😅 no worries ty
It may have been the result of a mod, but I'm not even certain there is a mod showing that.
I know the Valheim World map generator isn't showing it.
I believe that Is what they meant 😄
Note to self and others, if you make an island base and in the process of Changing from wood floor to stone floor you make a basement and support the floor with wood pillars that you forget about the wood pillars will get wet and the floor will collapse
Wooden structures max out at 50% from water damage. Something else is at play.
Stone can't be supported by wood
Indeed, weather only brings structures health down to 50% max, and that does not affect support
Whens deep north dropping bruh
Not anytime soon. Probably not during this year at least.
Before I make a suggestion, are there any building materials like the white walls on medieval houses?
maybe 2 weeks or a month? idk it's been a while
60-150 hours
no
Has anyone managed to find a workaround for the P2P networking system of Valheim? Asking because my friends and I want to start a dedicated server but we're not too close to each other and one of us doesn't have the "best" internet
A workaround for the game working as intended?
The only real option (aside from getting them better internet) would be to ensure that they never get chunk master.
More like a workaround for struggles with networking due to area host
Even with them getting better internet, there's these brief delays that don't make sense, tried this out in different servers with different people
The best thing you can do is never let them be in the lead. Its more ideal to have the people with the best internet be the leaders. Aside from that, G Portal worked well for my people.
I never read the "Developtment blogs" but I did read the "Word from the Dev's"
Literally the same thing.
I know, the words caught my attention though
Ok then.
What do you guys put inside your houses? I just built one but idk what to put inside besides chests
furniture so you can increase your comfort level and get a longer buff
then just decorate as you see fit
Comfort, fire, workbenches
I have all that stuff in a seperate area
Maybe hang some trophies on item stands on the wall
What do I need for item stands?
Bronze nails and wood, I think
I havent made those yet because it seemed like a waste of bronze when it was a little limited
Will do
4 finewood 1 bronze nails
Didnt realize it was little up
Your going to want to make nails eventually. Maybe even sooner than later.
Just one bar, to unlock the menu items.
Why does everyone keep saying that Deep North isn't in the game yet?
Deep North is in the game. The entire biome is there.
The only thing that's missing is the content related to the biome, but technically the Deep North is there.
i mean, u have a point
its there but there is nothing there aside fish and from experience i can tell you what you see now will most likely change when it comes out
Yeah, about the only thing that will stay the same, probably, is the ice and snow.
mistlands prior to coming out was completely different then what we see now as was ashalnds
Then again, thy took the Mistlands in a very different direction than I ever imagined.
Ashlands at least remained on fire.
considering it had spider webs everywhere and was even worse then the swamp when it came to lighting and rain im glad we got what we got
I hope they repurpose some of the early concept art from the Mistlands to the North. I think they could work as ice based creatures as well.
Especially since I thought they were going to be rather terrifying.
i havent seen any of the mistlands concept art, but i'd love to see some terrifying enemies
i was trying to find some of the older stuff but theres not much out there
this is what ashlands used to look like
in screenshots that is -.-
Almost like it's summer. But yes, most of them are away.
really?
yeah its ggs
I have zero power over them.
if you want rushed content you get a crap result, im ok with waiting for something good
Why?
We respect the work you do here soldier
🫡
Where did you lot all crawl out from? I don't recognise the names.
From the deep north...
I do hope they didn't come from the Black Forest.....
It was on the artists you tube, or maybe a podcast, and this was when we still believed the place holder assets were indicative of what it was going to look like. So the proposed creatures looked very "spidery". Apparently that messed with a LOT of peoples phobia's, So then we ended up with what is seen today. So I am hopeful that changing them to looking icy will make them be not spidery looking enough, and not phobia triggering, and allow us to see them fully done. Except maybe that one that looked like it would enclose us. I think I could do without ever seeing that one in game.
nice... hopefully they tone down a mob's spider-ness a little bit and add it into the game, perhaps a major enemy, like the troll & (& can mean "and," adding this in case you've never seen that symbol before) morgen of their respective biomes
The Abomination reminds me of one of the concepts we saw, so I remain hopeful to see them.
Why would the remove anything resembling a spider to avoid people having arachnophobia leaving the game, just to add it in a later biome?
That would basically mean they would still chase a certain group of players away.
Thats why I am hopeful turning them icy will work. Enough of a change to not trigger the phobia.
I mean, when you get down to it, the Abomination is very spidery looking.
if mistlands stayed the way it was i could see that triggering some phobias, a single spider mob i dont think would be as triggering
spiders dont bother me but when i went there exploring i was saying to myself "this is gonna f'ing suck"
I'm not even sure the phobias are why they changed the look so much. That may be more what we fans discussed at the time. I'd have to go back through those blogs to refresh my memory.
You think?
I do know what a single spider can do to a person having arachnophobia.
Simply because I heard "ooohhhh" over voice channel, followed a bit later by : "Mom fainted, How to I move her character out of the way of that spider in that game."
This was what? 3 to 4 years ago now? How many even remember a swamp without the Abomination?
fair, but i did say as triggering the whole place prior like i said earlier was covered in webs and i could totally see that triggering something alone
I do.
I also remember the more chuncy and hairless trolls.
So do I, and I am pretty sure you were around before I was.
i cant remember when i got the game exactly i would have to look it up but i know i was around before that, i think i bought it before the 1 million viking mark
I began playing this game two months or so before H&H was released.
i know i had it before that
I bought it within 60 days of it being up on Steam.
Started playing it right away with friends.
I wish I got in back when people got those Odin items. I believe those were the Kickstarter backers. Well before it appeared on Steam.
So you were playing before I was, for sure. It was on Steam at least a month before I got it. It was 2 or 3 items. Cloak, hat, and I think a mug.
didnt know about the hat
I've played with one of the people who got them. He liked to wear them and make us jealous. 😄
were they anything other then cosmetic?
Nothing more powerful. I think the hat only gave 1 armor. Cloak was the same as any other, armor wise. Just unique looks.
well at least it wasnt something that made people op
Basically just items of recognition, for being such early supporters.
glad they did something like that tbh
even if i cant get the items, its to see them put something in as a thank you to those who supported them
We tried to get them to do an item for those of us who were early buyers on Steam, but that never happened.
I think they said something about the logistics of getting out such an item to hundreds of thousands versus just a few hundred. Again, years ago now, so don't quote me on it.
i could see that tbh, would be kind of a pain to do so
Yeah, just to compile the list probably would not be easy. Even from Steam records.
thats just a lot of work and a lot of digging
Thats essentially what I recall being said about it.
Basically, "We'd love to do it, but no idea how we would go about doing it accurately and fairly."
Yep. Now I am just hoping they get the game finished before I get too old to even be able to play anymore. 😄 I'm almost 60 as it is.
im sure they will XD
idk what all is left for them to do after deep north aside a final boss or maybe 1 more biome/area
Deep North is the last biome and boss, last I heard.
curious how they will end it there; i would think you would defeat the deep north boss then have to fight odin or something like that
unless they put the end boss at the end of deep north but that feels a little out of place with how the game has been going
Odin is who sent us here, to defeat all these bosses. Don't know why we would fight him.
he's always stalking/watching us
and...?
it always felt like there would be a final challenge to "prove your worth"
there will be: Kill the final forsaken
and basically odin testing you himself
We're send to Valheim to defeat the Forsaken and to show Odin we're worthy to enter Walhalla.
So it's possible a Valkyrie will show up to pick us up and take us to Walhalla; kinda similar in the way we entered the game.
Well, our mission is to defeat all of these bosses. So once we do that, Odin should be happy with us.
which i'm pretty sure is all the test needed.
i really not saying thats not the case so please dont misunderstand what im saying here lol
regardless of how they end im sure ill still be happy with it
I haven't really followed the news over the last year, so I am not really aware of any changes they may have announced. I even needed to be reminded about the Bog Witch now existing.
Why is Walhalla the only "W" in this comment 😄
Valhalla, Valheim, Valkyrie - add a W to all or just leave as is
or are you saying Valhalla is just a bunch of walls?
i dont read a lot of the news unless its a major update, i like the little changes they make here and there; its nice to come along changes and just be surprised by them
Maybe he is German? W is V in German.
I get that but W only for valhalla?
Thorin is not German.
Then all the stranger for using the W. 😄
Anyways, its after 2 AM for me, so I'm out for the night.
👋
okay i dont really know where to put this but i cannot describe the appreciation for valheim existing its such a great game made by great people, i just felt the need to express my appreciation for this game and its creators!
Lol but seriously i just love everything about the game especially the building and the time period its set in, i think its a really unique game and i love the graphics and the way everything just is in the game, i cant really describe what im trying to say but, everything is just awesome!
no i get it totally im the same way when trying to explain it to people
i just end up saying "its a good game, trust me youll like it"
Goomba called you hot before 🤔
any news about the update?
Are there any plans for the game to ever release on a console?
Its already released on console
Oh right, it's on Xbox.
Oh joy.
would you play valheim with your life on the line?
I really need this deep north patch to come out. At least the monthly update to let us know it's not coming out yet
So, as they have done so far?
I just want the monthly update so i can go back to not thinking about it lol. I havent played since august last year and wont play again till this 1.0 patch and im renting a server for my friends and i as soon as it does
Since August there has been smaller update that came out in last October. Also there is another smaller update upcoming too before the DN update.
Most of the devs are currently on vacation, so we might expect the next word from devs coming in the end of the month at earliest, or skipping July and post during August.
oof. good to know
Early August? If they would skip this month i would expect to get it in the normal time for devblogs/word from the devs. 🤔 At least thats what was done until now iirc.
Hmm, true.
Edited.
Eyes didn't see what the fingers typed lol.
So either next 2-3 days or next month this time
Honestly, as long as it comes out October-November so I have a game I can sink a few hundred hours into over winter
2-3 days? There are still 13 days in July 😄
There is?!? Incredible! What I meant was they typically put out their notes around the 15th-20th i've noticed.
Nono, look at earlier devblogs 🙂 past few months have been unnaturally early.
Like said, most of them are on vacation rn.
usually its from ~20th till end of the month
Yep, we covered that. I was just addressing this other fella
20th is also Sunday, which is not work day.
So the timeline for the dev blogs are not set to certain days.
What part of 'it's not any time soon' is confusing people here?
Every part, seemingly.
I had a thought the other day... regarding that picture of a light armor shown in on of the devblogs... friends... you know what looks like those spikes... go look at a growth trophy 😄 it might be that? don't you think?
Which boats are accesible in the Black Forest? I know there’s the raft and one other that I have so far
The raft and the karve are both available by that point

Just a quick question - what is the specific trigger which allows the miniboss raids to occur? Is it still handing the chests to hildir or will just killing a miniboss trigger it?
Want to do the sealed tower but would rather wait a bit if it would result in raids I can't handle that well just yet
Dude I will never get the level up values for skills in valheim. Like spears get more skill on a primary attack than a throw, even though the throw takes way longer. Wood cutting gets more skill when you're hitting a tree AND a creature. Speaers get more skill per hit than any other weapon, even though they have super fast attack speed.
Just seems so random
Hopefully the combat update does something about it
Handing the chest to Hildr. UNLESS you actively went and ticked on the "player based events" setting, in which case just killing the boss triggers it
Also with the crafting skill being a thing, is there a chance that you sometimes craft something like a sword, and then it just gives you two of them?
You don't get fireworks if you don't return the chest
I know that.
What I'm actually after is eggs without spending coins
I think only stackable items can be 🎰 duplicated
anyone know any good roleplay servers? currently waiting on a new season to start but wouldnt mind another one in the mean time
🤙 happy Friday
Please take this to the #1024264966712340510
My no metal perma playthru has been too easy, thinking about adding no armor to the list and restarting
we'll find mans punching his way through every boss in a couple weeks
What makes it easy?
honestly it's having food
And like, I gave knives to much shit
They're actually pretty good and I've enjoyed using them
Yeah, Abyssal razor is pretty great if found early. Decimates Elder easily and is great at the start of the swamp era.
It was staggerlocking stuff in the plains lol
It's no atgeir but the combo of s key out of an attack and then hopping back in with secondary is actually p strong
Yeah, and the secondary is somewhat controllable with jump attacking.
jumping knife lunges go hard
I have entered the swamp in my current run. Not limiting weapons this time and enjoy swapping them for time to time.
now I want to try a weapon roulette run, getting a random weapon to use for every biome
Sounds fun
a walk in the park compared to your challenges 😭 😭 😭
Nah everyone starts somewhere have fun with what u do
I have just a regular no mead, no power, no sleep and no Harnesk run.
No harnesk is a good rule lol
My last run was 2h weapons (excluding bows/xbows and dual wielded) + spear ranged + only armor that grant no ms penalty. That excluded the Harnesk too.
Entering Ashlands with Fenris chest and legs plus heavy helmet was tedious at start.
Imagine the roulette granting you pierce melee weapon during swamp era.
Although spear is pretty great in swamp as you can safely kill leeches with the throw attack. Just pick it up and repeat.
Mind if i steal this idea for future run?
hell yeah man use it for whatever
I actually got too excited so I started making an html page for it
Ngl sounds interesting.
🤞 pierce in swamp
Yeah, "random" run 😄
Could include also what armor and what food from that biome you will be using
So, weapon type per biome (axes, swords, bows etc) meaning entering and defeating the biome with randomly chosen weapon type and making next random one for next biome etc?
I think i will do rolls for specific weapons from each biome and for next biome i will always reroll
Yeah that I was thinking.
Same for all food, armor pieces etc
So you get spears for mountain and enter with ancient bark spear but can also craft fang spear, for example.
I would do, go to mountain with weapon you had in swamp, but once you are able to make the weapon you rolled for mountain you HAVE to make and use it.
So i would make the wheel for each biome with all individual weapons, not weapon types, meaning that from swamp you may have an iron battle axe and for mountain you get fang spear. You can go to the mountains with battle axe but have to make fang spear once you can
Hmm so you thought of individual weapons instead of weapon types.
Good luck getting Abyssal razor.
Also rolls for individual armor pieces, fenris legs or Wolf armor legs, fenris coat or Wolf chest, which helm... So you could get mismatched pieces 😄
Asi said, random run
Mistlands/Ashlands mismatched armor pieces.
And diet! XD Tbh probably have to roll for a playstyle (mage, melee) there otherwise it would be too many options, but the challenge would be real
Crap, can't wait to try this out but my shift starts in 10 minutes So i will get home in 9 Hours 😂
Get Embla'd in Ashlands and get melee weapon.
I'm new to PC, so I have my steam account connected to my laptop from my phone, do I just need to buy the game and download now?
Yep, just go to the Steam store on your PC and click buy, then you can install and play 🙂
Tyvm
That Is if you don't have the game already on steam
Yeeeeeah I guess im using that $20 on food, I just needed to install it xD ive played 17hrs on my friend's laptop, WHOOPS
Ah makes sense. I did consider that but then I also thought that there’s not that many stackable items anyways so would feel silly
Maybe I just think that because I tend to skip a lot of stackable items
Hmm random roll challenge does sound fun
If weapons were more balanced I would try it
That was the case at the beginning of the PTB but it was fixed to the items Blob mentioned. Arrows, nails, bronze ingots for example can be duplicated.
Also some boss spawning items like bells and Sealbreaker.
They can, like mentioned.
I think searching the area you lost it in on foot is the only option afaik.
we're you discovering new areas or harvesting/gathering in already explored location ?
There are character backups, if you can find one where you still have your stuff you could restore the back-up and delete the freshest. You could use devcommands to fly around and look for you tomb but with no idea where you died, it could take a while
Or use devcommands to spawn new stuff, or start over
My brother and I are about to hopefully ascend to Valhalla. We are both new, I was just wondering if it would be better to find someone with some experience to help guide us, or should we venture on our own?
The game is great played blind. Feel free to ask for targeted spoilers here if the in-game hints aren't enough.
Crops don't grow unless they're near the player right?
We have been looking forward to it for a while. I've had the game for a while I just haven't touched it waiting on him to get home.
They grow away from the player. It's taming animals that requires you to be close iirc
correct
Probably better for us to just to do it on our own I don't want someone to have to wait for us, and I wouldn't want us to feel like we have to rush in order to make sure whoever we are with isn't bored.
I was thinking of putting the crops on the other side of my portal so it's out of the way
I like to explore and read stuff lol that doesn't always meld well with others playstyle
First playthrough is a lot of fun, getting a seasoned player in your game would probably be less fun than playing just the two of you
Discovering new items and recipes is really fun and you only get to do it once (once per big update I guess but still)
Thanks for the information my friend
Good luck !
Sweet jesus I have max gear from blackforest and swamp is destroying me
Do you also have meads and black forest food? Stay out of the swamps when unrested or at night.
I have meads and blackforest food yeah
Swamp is a significant step up in difficulty, parrying will be your best friend probably.
That doesn't mean parry everything btw especially not with the constant wet debuff
It costs a lot more stamina than other options for avoiding damage
I tried to kill an abomination, didn't go well
Slash weapons are best for them
it's like trolls from black forest tier all over again
When they use the heavy branch attack the hitbox won't reach you if you're too close to their centre
What weapon is suggested? I have a +3 sword atm
Was thinking of making the aetgir for the other ones
Make an iron mace when you can, you'll want it for the boss and for an enemy in the mountains
About to start a no-portal solo run, any tips/tricks? (500h+ playtime)
Just one:
Remember where you beached your boat.
In the box where it belongs.
I doubt that's how your country ruled he waves.....
Was able to kill one
I wanna get the wood armor before I go into the dungeons of the swamp
dungeons in the swamps would let you discover stuff that makes abomination easier, it's a bit backwards to do the arguably hardest mobs in that zone first
I have half the materia for the chestplate at least
Aboms before crypts is a good strat
You should kill any abominations you find but don't delay iron to hunt them
Ye, that
Any tips for fighting the elder? I know I should use fire
patience
Whack until ded
Dodge roll if possible because parrying takes more stamina
The Harnesk is super, makes archers much less of a threat.
It has to generate at certain dimensions to have any crypts. You can find one crypt, you can find crypts with no iron, etc... So it can get very frustrating.
Or you'll get a crypt with the entrance blocked by an indestructible tree
Then you try clipping through it with log bench.
can someone link the like config list or whatever for raids
Alr I have found a 2nd swamp that is right next to a good meadows
Ill make a iron base here
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Events any good to you?
How many crypts?
I saw at least one on the way
the swamp is looking massive and it's right next to the iron base
Good stuff, then.
Making a basic smelting setup
got a kill on a sea serpent on the way
which is neat
is the gimmick w iron that yes you find a lot of it but you also need a lot of it
that's pretty accurate yes
Cus I have found 150 from this cave alone
GGs you can get most new items, you'll need more if you want to lvl up everything
Even more if you want to make furniture, decorations, iron wood poles and what not
time to bring the goodies home
I want to make the cooking station first so I can make use of this serpent meat
Hell yeah, IIRC you can make a prep table and discover a bunch of new cooking
I love the fact that the runback is 30s
and not 10 mins like it was w bronze
Okay yeah iron is pretty chill
bronze was hell compared to this
And bonemas located in 2nd dungeon
alr after 2 cavers we sit at around 200
that is 10 items
You know, I've only just realized that we're at the second to last biome, but there's no Medium Eitr Mead. I wonder if we'll get it in the Deep North? Or skip straight to Major Eitr Mead.
Is that really a surprise? We only got Eitr at all in Mistlands.
I mean, yeah, kind of. My eitr tops off around 300 when I go full eitr. Granted, it regenerates insanely fast, but I simply thought it was a bit odd. Although I guess the lingering version is basically the medium one.
There’s lingering Eitr mead for the Ashlands, right? 🤔
I imagine a likely scenario is we could just get Eitr mead in the Deep North, doesn’t necessarily have to be minor>medium>major I would guess
I don't know why we wouldn't get both.
There are minor, medium and major for HP, minor and medium for stamina and minor for Eitr, plus lingering for all.
Then there is Tasty which is technically stamina but isn't at the same time.
Lingering eitr would outclass any med/major pot anyways
Yeah, eitr weaving is OP.
I took like 7 stacks of silver off my cart so I could carry them to home, only later to find out they despawned. Deleted my world and character.
Seems a little extreme.
I can't bear losing stuff that isn't renewable
Could've just dev commands them back in
Nah, I didn't wanted to cheat
You might be able to load a backup from before the items despawned, I don't think backups are deleted together with the active saves.
Too late for that
You deleted the backups too or I'm wrong about having to delete them separately?
The backups should still exist.
I deleted them too.
Why?
That's... one way to deal with something.
I would argue that's not dealing with it at all.
What's done is done.
Well, at least you will have nice start from the beginning. 👌
I'm more mad about the carts tbh.
The cart is probably mad at you trying to put seven stacks of silver inside
Yep. I just hate to have to carry like 3 stacks at a time
I pretty much had one cart full of silver.
In the future, if you find trader from the swamps she sells ingredient to one very useful mead that increases your carrying capacity.
And another trader sells you a trinket that does the same.
I know of haldor
The swamp trader in question is called ||Bog Witch||.
Pulling the cart is more of a problem then carrying items
Yeah, in elevated terrain it can be hard if you have lots of weight in the cart.
Just yeet it off the side.
Although down from the mountain it's easier.
That's the best part
That's what I did.
But I had to go through black forest.
Would be nice to have a potion for helping out for pulling the cart, but I'm just asking for too much aren't I?
Any stamina pot will do that.
The bog witch sells an ingredient for a mead that increases movespeed, which helps for pulling the cart
Good to know.
Did you throw them on the ground as items, or were they in your inventory?
As items, which was a dumb idea.
Ah, there's your problem. They despawn after an hour unless in range of player base area, which can be generated out to 20m with a workbench, a torch, or a variety of other base structures.
What you did was a viable strategy, you just needed to throw down a workbench or something of the sort
Yeah the items I dropped around my base never despawned so I foolishly assumed that dropped items always stay around.
Now I know.
(they also can't be under 2m of water)
I'm not going to play until deep north is out I think.
Resist the urge to rage delete a world. You just threw away 3 biomes worth of progress for a small loss in the 4th.
Yeah I'll do my best next time. Honestly, the game was really distracting me to do other stuff so, maybe it's for the best.
fair lol
I might try to find someone to play with next time, maybe.
It takes so damn long to terraform the ground.
And I'm not a good builder.
I was under the impression that all burial chambers had 10 surtling cores because my first 2 had 10, then the third one I searched only had one
Anywhere from 0 to a lot.
I have 26 rn and I already have 1 portal, a smelter, and a kiln
Its not weird to have multiple chests of them later in game 😄
one chest + obliterator*
If you have too many you can use them as fireworks
I don't think I have recipes for that unlocked yet
Use it to a fire source on hot bar.
I think it has to be a bonfire specifically
which is unlocked in swamp progression
No, you can with others too, I have used them in iron pit.
Not 100% sure about regular campfire but should work too.
I'd expect it work on them too.
Oh, well I'll sort out my portals first and maybe do that after
Or try now on campfire.
I don't want to have to go back into the dungeons though, they're scary
The big hammers make them significantly less dangerous. IE Stag Breaker, the iron hammer, etc... the AoE softens the enemies very nicely.
Thats what I use
With sledgehammers it's easy to use cheese tactics and hit them behind doors from safety.
Well, you can't make the dungeons any less dangerous than that!
Well you can but you would have to involve world modifiers 😄 and/or devcommands
I always assume world defaults. Its how I play, except now a days I allow myself the luxury of portaling ores.
I play all default, tho lately i am considering spicing it up a bit with modifiers, but that will have to come after the random run 😄
Ah I have no img perms
but I went grinding, I have full upgrades for forge and all for iron, a mace and a chest full of iron
320 iron to be exact after 4 hours
You're going for the run soon enough?
What is the random run?
I was planning to start a new run when the combat update comes, but the random run sounds so fun i will probably try it as soon as i get home 😄 should be around half hour.
Starting from here earlier today: #valheim-chat message
Random weapon in each biome, random Armor and i am thinking random diet too
Rolling a dice to decide if he's going to the supermarket, the sigarette shop, the post office or a snackbar....
Ngl might want to try one out some time.
Let's see after my current run.
Would be fun to roll a DnD dice and the number decides the weapon.
"Let's see what we got here...
Bare fists, bare fists, bare fists, bare fists,..."
Now I don't know if I want to finish my current playthrough or just start this if I get back to singleplayer
Last time I played Valheim with a survival character rather than testing with commands was in April I think
Tbh might be even longer for me 😄 i really wanted to wait but this sounds fun
Wanted to wait till Combat update with my recent run too before this but well, had to finish it.
Can’t wait to get flametal tower shield and splitnir for ashlands, with embla armor and stamina diet
are daggers good?
Yeah, that Tower shield surely blocks every attack of Ashlands mobs, right? Right?
I feel like range has to be a problem with daggers
Knives have shorter reach as expected, they're close combat weapons. But they're fast and their backstab multiplier is huge (6x).
And additionally they don't slow down when equipped.
Forget what I said above it’s the turnspeed that’s high, not movespeed
Hopefully tower shields get buffed, they are so underwhelming
Either increasing block armor rate or increasing the stagger limit while blocking with them maybe.
And lowering the MS penalty.
Right now they’re only good for Hervor Bloodtooth
ugh
I thought she was blocking with torch.
She hasn’t used one but it’s the kind of thing she would do
Heh, imagine getting Jotun Bane in random run.
Tbh, wouldnt mind it 😄
Using it in Ashlands until you get the next weapon and all charred are immune to poison.
Jodumb Pain
More challenge 😄
Iirc Morgen and Valkyries aren't immune to poison.
Yeah, did misremember in case of Valkyries.
Hmm, should have remembered since I mostly play with Jade stuff. 🥲

How can a block on a stick be so good?
Because popsicle OP
Am I weird for disliking swords and maces? They seem to be fan favorites but they never really clicked for me
Dislike bows and atgeirs too but thats for seperate reasons
Is bronze armor worth making? I have level 3 troll hide armor that has more armor points than bronze and doesn't affect my movement speed. I'd assume level 2 bronze is the same armor points but still affects your movement
At your point, definitely not worth it
I generally recommend making troll instead of bronze. If you already have troll there’s no reason to switch
It depends at your play-style.
If you want to be fast, Troll armor is better. If you prefer to be tanky, bronze armor eventually is better if / when you combine it with a (tower) shield.
Keyboard and TouchPad is no fun but somehow I beat Eikthyr
What I have now rly started to like about Valheim now in the midgame is that the game rly makes you work for it
After surviving the bronze age, you are rewarded with the brutal swamp which so far has been the most fun I have had with the game, killing the abomanations and taking iron home
none of the charred ruins ive been to had any vineberries
The vine berry struggle is real
nvm i finally got some after i got jumped by 3 morgens
You can get troll raids once you beat the elder right?
Yeah. Once Elder is dead and at least one troll have died in your world
So I should definitely put a moat around my base before I fight the boss
or a very thick earthen wall.
That just doesn’t look as good in my opinion, also it’s easier to get in and out with a moat
Moat definitely feels/looks better than a wall.
Personally I like to get more creative with defenses than just exploiting bad AI pathfinding though
Jeez. Whenever you see an enemy oneshot a troll, you know its time to run and save your permadeath run from going up in flames
What one shotted the troll?
Deathsquito
But I forgot that I did actually just make root harnesk, so not too bad. Though it had backup from some fulings
Man, those bats are irritating. Fortunately I had my 2 star boar in a building, so they only killed all my 1 star boar.
Not that I even need boar meat anymore. We are on plains food.
Regular 1h swords are boring IMO, I prefer 2h swords tho. Maces are one of my favorite weapon types.
BATTLEAXE RAAAHHHH
heavy boner!
Deep north will update in world which already exists?
And when deep north will release?
New content generates in unexplored parts of existing worlds, so avoid going too far north for now. We don't know when it will release, but we will be getting another update before it so not any time soon.
#memes-and-clips message Nice, I have similar clip from few months ago: #memes-and-clips message
Someone wanns play valheim?
Look in #1024264966712340510 to find others who want to play
Considering running off to the Mountains to get some silver using the Stagbreaker method before fighting Bonemass... just because
Frost Resist Mead, Tasty Mead, and Healing Mead would be a good idea for Mountains, yeah?
Thank you
(Of course the Frost Resist being necessary at this stage)
I imagine I'll want Fire Arrows with my Huntsman Bow
Fire arrows when entering for the first time and obsidian arrows after that
Crystal battleaxe aint even bad option against Bonemass due to extra spirit damage, if one want to use other than blunt weapon.
I did wanna give Frostner a go tbh
But I might just make both
I'll flip a coin on which is first
Crystal Battleaxe
Frostner even better due to Bonemass being weak against both blunt and frost damage.
Well yeah, but both weapons seem fun
plus, I already flipped the coin, unless I do best out of 3
One vein should have enough silver for both
I am playing with 2x Resource Rate due to being in a world with 3 other people, and likely another +1 soon.
So maybe a bit more than just both
(Only recently put it to 2x though; Bronze Age was a slog)
Silver is much easier to mine than copper and even iron tbh.
Still, I'll be needing a lot of it to help kit out the others
What is that?
While building in satisfactory you can press h to lock a build without putting it down and use arrow keys to move it slightly in whichever direction then you click and it's built
Still has to be a valid spot but lets you be precise
That's been suggested before
No luck yet..
Not 100% sure of the theory but some have said that you can locate silver easier near where Stone Golems spawn.
The thing I'm sure is that you need to be in high enough mountain that has obsidian and drakes spawning, them all have certain altitude requirement.
@tacit crystal So, my meadows gear will be Flint axe, Tower shield, Boar meat, Deer meat and mushrooms.... (For meadows i skip armor)
Not too bad, but those foods means that you have bit more HP to block with Tower shield!
Went up higher and started working from up to down, found one quickly :)
But I think this might be the only one on this mountain.
It's just the height thing
Wait... unless that's the nearby Obsidian giving the "Too hard" message
Mountain needs to be high enough to spawn silver
Obsidian does give the same "Too hard" message.
And silver spawning height starts roughly around (I think same or maybe +10m of what the obsidian spawns at)
It was the Obsidian :(
And the second condition is - enough space - look for little plateaus above the level where obsidian starts to appear
Do you randomise the BF gear after defeating Eikthyr or are them randomly chosen already?
I will wait with it after Eik, tho meadows are usually so short i might as well do it now
Let me know which gear you get then.
Can you get stone builds?
Yep
I just don't think this mountain has any silver then
Better make sure after getting Bonemass drop.
Will double check, yeah
I've cultivated some carrots, I picked them up but now I don't have any seeds. Is there any way to produce seeds?
I would appreciate the help
Now look into cultivator again 😉
wdym? I can't cultivate again since I have no seeds
Open the cultivator menu 😄 since oyu have carrots now you should be able to plant seed-carrot
But the game keeps saying I don't have the requirements 😅
Do you have carrots in your inventory?
yes
And you see carrot and seed carrot in your cultvator menu?
aaaaaa
There we go 😄
now I get it, I unlocked seed carrot now, sry for the trouble tyvm
No worries 😄
whats everyones favourite thing about valheim?
Everything.
Not necessary, but definitely very good
What do you like about them? Just the blunt damage?
I like that maces get extra stagger on their alt attack and I like the reach on sword alt attack. But using the regular combo it just feels so slow. Feels like I can only rarely get off a full three hit combo after staggering someone. So then I sway more towards knives and spears and flesh rippers because they just get their combo off so much faster so much faster
I mean, how else am I gonna start getting up to the Mountains when I don't have gear with inherent Frost Resist?
potion.
I've seen a speedrunner just use campfires instead, if that's what you mean.
I meant that this conversation started due to someone telling me Frost Resist Mead is "not necessary".
Despite the fact I do not yet have gear with inherent Frost Resist.
Yea campfires or corpse run stacking
it's true then. You just die a lot.
I mean, fair, but not exactly convenient.
If you want a clean experience make sure your path up includes a frost cave you can retreat to (inside frost caves you are only cold)
You can also portal out before you die from the freezing ticking dmg and you'll be fine to
I mean, either way, I have the Meads at this point.
So bonfire + near frost cave + portal on hand makes mountains relatively free without any form of frost resist
I think that's the point, @median ibex. He's saying you 'can' survive in the mountains without frost resist, but why bother. Using the included game mechanics makes things easier.
@tacit crystal For black forest i rolled bronze sword, tower shield(f*ck), bronze helmet, bronze cuirass, troll pants and for food queens jam, yellow mushroom and carrot soup
I dont mind the bronze 😄 since only one piece will actually slow me down, but i am not gonna use the shield really xD
Real armor is stamina
Negates ALL dmg
I might start a new world after I collect resources for my storage room
metals are tap dry, so as food aswell
making a a gigantic base takes up so much time
never a truer statement
I aint even half way done.
I still got my smelting area which I am currently working on
my portal hub, my dock house, my perimeter wall, and decorations
and other stuff that I can fit in into my main base
The stagger multiplier is nice for secondary attack, plus I don't mind the knockback, it actually adds some defensive layer against groups as you can keep hitting with the primary attacks and switch targets (especially with Frostner). I mainly used them during my first perma run after Ashlands patch was out, they added more survivalibity.
Heck yeah, tower shield plus stamina based foods.
At least it’s an easy biome
And sword which any of the mobs don't resist or are weak against.
i dunno sword is pretty nice in bf
I mean it is a good thing.
Trolls would have resisted mace.
Then skeletons would have resisted spear/atgeir, but they are more nuisance compared to trolls.
Ah word i get ya
Dont forget you can do a extended power combo for swords
so jack of all trades weapon
Tank the damage or use campfires. That's what I do on my permadeath no resistance mead runs at least
Not all too hard just gotta bring campfire materials. Interesting challenge of having to fight around a campfire to avoid passive hp drain and, much worse, significantly less stamina regen
One thing I do like about swords is that they don't split damage between all enemies/walls hit. That's annoying on Axes and maces and such
How much is it to keep a server open
Depending on how many people it can support and where you get it, like $4-10 a month I'd say
For a small group
Me and my friend, I thought it would be a 1 time payment
Would it be a new server it would apply to or can it be an existing one I made
It can apply to an existing one. You just have to go to your saves, find the world you have, then copy the file over to the server
But no its never a 1 time payment
free if you host it yourself
I feel like higher quality arrows like obsidian should need finewood and be faster more accurate and do more damage
Bows are strong enough already
We already have something for that called a ||crossbow||
Do you think they will ever add a thing that nerfs raised earth walls
no
You mean like they did with ashlands? 🙂
Oh I haven’t gotten there yet but that’s cool it always felt kinda cheezy
Then why are you saying stuff like this when you didnt yet gone through the whole game?
I wasn’t complaining about things that I haven’t done, I was saying that dirt walls being more effective than stone walls is kinda strange
Lava blobs really don't nerf raised earth walls at all tho
They can dmg them and eventually destroy them if you are not vigilant 🙂
nahhhh
So while slight, it is a nerf
okay sure it's a VERY small nerf
Also payloads can dmg them i believe, so if you are not carefull...
People use catapults for things other than flying?
Heh, not me
I think it’s cool that when getting guck (or ooze, I forget) ||first you realize that the trees they are on are unbreakable, then you realize that you have to nerd pole to get to them, and in the process you have made a safe treehouse in what seems to be the most unsafe Biome.|| 10/10 game design.
Technically there’s something to combat earth walls, but tbh it doesn’t do much most of the time
Hello does anyone have any cool seeds for world that I can use?
There’s a whole chat for it with people saying why different seeds are cool #1202740443352137838
uh, why is my afk cam spinning at like mach 10??
were you afk for a while
only 2 hour
yea that'll do that
its scary to come back to
Mm, I have vague memory of 1h swords having MTP before Mistlands patch and not having after the update, but 2h swords have that, which should be other way around.
anyone down to play
Someone in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510 might.
huh, didn't know 2h swords split damage
when is the combat update out?
We don't know yet.
Okay Bonemass was so much easier than elder what the hell
power of mace
I just traded hits with him all fight blocking as he attacked
Guess so
Time for the mountains baby
Frostnir is the 1st goal
Still keep the iron mace ready tho 😉 Frostner is awfull against the troll level enemy in mountains as well as against boss there
It is great actually 😄
But silver I heard isn't as large of a grind as the metals so far?
Yeah, Bronze is relatively easy to get plentiful, but kinda tedious to mine
Iron is a bit more dangerous, and a lot more scarce because you need A LOT (it's used later in the game too) and sometimes crypts can be hard to find.
Silver is like everywhere in the mountains and is pretty quick to mine if you use a special technique
I would agree with that, but for the sword you will need a LOT of it 😄
Ye mine around the entire vein and then just break the thing in 1 touch
How much silver you need kinda depends what weapon you're going for. Fully upgrading some of the silver weapons is REALLY expensive
I plan to get the crafting upgrades, sword, frostnir and 2/3 wolf armor
and pick + axe
Personally I am a huge fan of the light armor (non-metal armor) found in mountains
Can never be too prepared
I grinded 7 hours for iron tier so grinding is not too large of an issue for me
Also if you have two armor sets, that's very handy if you need to go retrieve your gear after dying
Okay holy cow you need a lot of this stuff
I am making the frostnir first
I have all the other materials for it so it seems like an easy first step to take
Frostner needs total of 120 silver 😄
Yeah but for the non upgraded variant
which is still better in dmg than what I have atm
For lvl1 only 30 🙂
160 silver and 24 iron for fully upgraded Silver sword btw.
Well you dont really need silver for much after mountains 😄 so why the heck not, spend it as much as you want
True, but still hefty amount of metal bars for a weapon.
Although there is one weapon that requires even more (talking about ||Krom, which needs 120 iron and 80 bronze, total of 200 metal bars||). 😅
It is a one heck of a weapon after all XD
True, I prefer 2h swords over 1h honestly.
They really should not have the MTP tho
Having fingers crossed that would be one thing to address in Combat update. 🤞
I got only 80 from my 1st vein 😭
Oh neat I can make the cape
no more need for frost meads
You could also make chest piece from either of the mountain armor sets 😉
I will eventually but thats more expensive atm
I just want the cape purely for the frost resist
Cape is fine, but I prefer the looks of the next biome's cape.
Both chest pieces mentioned above grant frost resistance too.
Great reason not to make it <3
Made some calculations what could be crafted with 80 silver and these I'd personally craft first: Frostner or Crystal Battleaxe (30), Wolf chest (20), fully upgraded shield (20), fully upgraded Fang spear (8) and Butcher table cauldron upgrade (2).
I like fang spear for mountain. Cheap and probably the best mountain weapon for use in the mountains (other than bow which is OP)
Flesh rippers feel good too tho
I usually keep going with Huntsman bow and skip Draugr Fang nowadays.
Hey I am looking for lost in valheim season 3 server. Any help??
Any servers would be in #1024264966712340510
hi, are there any mods to make mining muddy scrap piles faster?
#mods-discussion might know, but it is fast as is
