I love the bows so much
Optional
they feel AMAZING though
THE POWER OF THE SUN
shoot the sun with bow
hollow knight moment
SILKSONG WHEN
NEVER WE WILL NEVER SEE IT
I KNOW YOU ARE HIDING IT
ITS MINE. YOU CANT HAVE IT.
what if I ask nicely?
they yes, you can.
may I have some Silksong, please?
Ill think about it
this miffs me
you have been miffed
transmute grapes into zounds of askvins
fill the universe with askvins
All will be askvin
I have a askvin named gort, he is so cool.
THEYRE GETTING OUT LMAO
THE ASKVINS WANT TO ROAM
WHAT
For real tho, theres not a lot of use for askvins. Just kill them and make sure you keep a bunch of eggs in storage, just in case.
Piquant Pie and Ashlands Gormet Bowls β€οΈ
Good for defending an area aswell
even then you can produce askvins waaaaay faster than you consume those things
thats considering the askvins you are likely to fight while exploring too
mass production factory's for askvins NOW!!
True - that seems to be the general trajectory of progression in this game though
resource gathering for a lot of things is significantly cut down in the later biomes - and especially for food, it's just a natural progression of Mistlands food
You get more seeker meats than you know what to do with and a lot of those recipes are fairly cheap in their own way
also doubly true with a 2 star asksvin farm - I think to be honest the drops could be reduces to 1 skin and tail per asksvin and you'd still have slightly too much
Also siren I just wanna say thanks
Because you hadn't told me there was a machine that can make gathering stones easier
I would have jsut been at my mountain pickaxing away
I think the breeding rate should be reduced, really
You're probably correct tbh
Seriously check out the screenshot channel lmao
I had to rise the wall twice
The pickaxe is for the PLEB!
Get the tools to automate it before making a big base π€£
just bought the game anyone willing to teach me the game?
I ALREADY GOT THE ||BATTERING RAM|| ITS AMAZING
sounds about right, In my case I had to raise the heat source because they kept piling on each others and catch on fire
Valheim has an NPC called Hugin
who will give hints and advice about the game, but if you have any more questions while playing you can ask us here
After breeding chickens that were smart enough to not run straight into the fire immediately when they hatched, I was disappointed when my Asksvin hatchlings all had a death wish
My hearth is inside the tiny entrance of the ||fortress||
I used a suspended fire thing, I guess thats a mistake
Tip for good lighting as well.
Make a Brazier, but don't throw resources into it to make fire.
Put a few items stands inside the Brazier.
Man them with Surtling Trophies.
Voila, permanent light.
o nice, but can dvergr lanterns prevent enemies from spawning?
I'm not sure - but I discovered that Dvergr lanterns, frankly, are crap.
They make barely any light at all, you need LOADS of them to light an area.
LMAO this greyling just got yeeted into the sea by my asksvin
I've got a couple of them in my mountains base to try for my first attempt at permanent lighting - the light radius is really, REALLY small
Its so hilarious seeing the asksvin trying to hit flying enemies
only to just yeet themselves 10 meters away
My Asksvin go absolutely mental when a drake flies near them in my mountains base
There's a wall that prevents the drake attacking them or vice versa though
So they (thankfully) haven't tried to escape lol
The asksvins are so destructive in a hilarious way
best results are flying enemies, watch them leap themselves trying to kill the flying enemies
And enemy with an attack that actually moves it upwards would be interesting. It could be possible to stand on them before they do it and jump off for a super high jump
(Deep north development blog spoilers)
||Maybe Elakings could do this with the jump attack shown, but I think it will be like the knife secondary that only moves the visuals upwards, not the collider.||
Vanilla ftw
Only time will tell, maybe in the future certain enemies can leap up like fenrings or asksvins can leap up towards the player so they cant just camp up at a high structure
i just got attacked by a draugr raid but i haven't even reached swamp yet
It enables after killing Elder π
It is part of the conditions to enable those as well π
any boss enables the raid from the next biome
so much fun when you kill the queen and the ashlandmobs show up at your plains base π
Looking for a couple armor pieces. Is there a server that would have gear needing to level this character baxk to max on gear.
Yoo chat what do i do with the snow dragon egg
One of the worst is if you get a drake raid before you're ready to explore the mountains
You summon the boss.
Do i need only 1?
Those drakes kinda hurt when you have no frost resist lol
You'll need 3.
They hurt still with it just got jumped by 4 of them π
drakes are a PAIN
Ohhh thank you
the solution to drakes is bow
I am gonna built anti Air
Thats why you punch them π
what do you mean I can't call in a ISR pred and have them shot down with AIM-9's
I have this mod where monsters get up to 5 stars monsters and as far drake been the most annoying
Well, yes, that's mods for you.
Well considering i dont know half of those things... i cant answer π
that sounds like fun and pain.
thats ok, ill just go punch them.
It's so fun until your base get raided by a 5 star troll
punch with bow
this is why we build moats
ill throw my bow at them
dude is gon get raided by serpents
Nope, only the normal gates π
any builders in here?
ive realised after 3 hours of building destroying rebuilding redestroying
I CANT BUILD FOR THE LIFE OF ME
Quite a few π they hang out in #building-discussion and other building channels
π€

there was 5 minutes of my life wasted
I wonder what the most over-the-top method would be to kill all those annoying greylings that think they can take me on? Trollstav meteor?
bear traps
1000's of them
Without commands? Yep, most likely that π
My apologies, gang. Should've known better than to do that
Ooh, bear traps sound like fun. I need to make those for hares anyway.
Probaly cant be forgiven now
Atgeir
I would strongly recommend you go re-read #rules-and-info
greifing, trolling etc is not something we do around this part of the internet
will do that now and sorry
and yet the game is filled with trolls
Thats why we do de-trolling π
no trolls allowed on social media
The chat is shaking.
??
Valkyrie?
it would be funny if we could change certain discord strings. Instead of "lots of people are typing" we could have "The chat is shaking."
You'll see by the time you get to the Ashlands.
but im only in meadows
;(
So it'll take a while before you'll find out what it is.
Count your blessings. You can experience each biome for the first time only once.
And a lot of people here have had that moment quite a while ago.
wise words thanks
Hey guys, returning player since forever, wondering what the go is with servers, is pvp a thing? Are there newish servers that handle that (somehow without bringing stuff in from other worlds?)
PVP isn't really a thing, but there are some player run servers that use mods to achieve something similar.
Thanks π
valheim isn't a MMORPG either. so you will not randomly run into a PVP player π
haha its got the vibe to potentially be one
but getting back into it PvE does feel like the way to go, the balance is pretty brutal
I've got myself in AU, and brother in the UK who are looking for a server, preferably fresh because we are starting anew
probably just to build cool stuff independantly and maybe link up with people for trade or bosses
There are plenty of ACTUAL MMORPGs out there that'll do a much better job than a mod in Valheim ever could.
Yeah I was just curious since there's been a bunch of content updates and crossplay since last I played. Wondering if there was a shift! Still seems to be the same at its core
The content updates have been adding promised content to the existing game. It's not going to suddenly change genre.
shift in?

shift in scales? π€
bad pun
if a game like Valheim where ported over to a MMORPG. the scale of the project would change 1000 fold
@umbral anchor is trying a phishing scam BEWARE people
The game has player damage and wards. Like there was always an element of potential pvp style stuff.
@spice rock π€¨
It has friendly fire and wards which do pretty much nothing.
They randomly added me, account created like a month ago, very very sus
I don't even talk in here since the server hack, but yea VERY sus so just wanted to raise awarness
Ah yes that bug where you stagger them and still get jabbed, idk probably never getting fixed at this points it been 28 months
π€
π₯±
π₯±
MY ROCK JUST DIED π
π
I don't know what I did, my friend's rock just across from it is giving a big smile
Oh and there's a KNIFE on my rock
Regicide π
Anyone got a good relaxing Playlist for Spotify to listen to when playing valheim and could you dm me it
whats the basic % of hp incrase per player in a boss fight?
I've been playing the game using knives and have realised that later on there isn't one. Can I keep on my oath of knives or does it fall flat later on in mistlands and ashlands?
Becomes a lot less effective in mistlands and ashlands imo. Enemies get a lot more HP and damage in these areas, and usually pose a significant threat leading most players to try and deal with them quickly and with brute force.
Your best option for both of these areas is probably magic, but melee can suffice so long as you're good at avoiding damage and have your Bonemass power ready to go at any moment.
TLDR: The game gets a lot harder and a knife will probably struggle to bridge the gap imo
True thanks I have heard people say the 2 handed is good or is it just to far behind for ashlands?
2H can def be good, but involves more dodging and less parrying obviously. Just comes down to how you wanna play.
Would you say there is any other good weapons at that point to switch to that have the "knife" feel?
you can parry with weapons
Wouldn't it be not great due to no block force and stuff right?
You can parry with weapons, but tends to be riskier and greatly depends on difficulty. Wouldn't recommend it on "Hard" or above.
its not a shield but it can parry just well enough
I'm probably on default
How good are axes or swords throughout the game? I heard there's a fast axe in ashlands and swords seem to be a good middle ground. Currently in swamps but experienced up to mistlands before.
There is a 2h weapon in Ashlands that you might enjoy actually. Besides that tho, you're either gonna go 1H + Shield, 2h, or magic.
parrying is mostly based on your health. I mean of course the block power of whatever you are holding matters, but whether or not you can parry anything is, as I hear, dependent on your health
Ok thanks
so if you want to parry that one monster to do some sweet damage afterward, you should
Parry based on health I just assumed stam
It's both. Health in terms of risk assessment, i.e. "can i survive the chip dmg?"
Theres a mechanic in the game that determines if you get staggered. That plays out even if you are blocking or parrying, and thats health based.
Lets say that I learned not to block charred warriors
Odd one. I was looking at armour and how it works does it start getting less effective when you go past 40 vs bonemass or did I misunderstand?
yesnt
Cool thanks
more armor = better, its just that it will never completely absorb a hit
I know it's more of a question of how much I can be bothered to farm but what armour should I aim for Vs bonemass?
iron
Quick question for yall, can pc and xbox play together? Im looking for some new people to play with and want to confirm before I throw a post up?
Best method to avoid dmg in the game is actually just to move out of the way, but easier said than done lol. Some attacks can become very easy to avoid if you learn when and where the damaging frames happen. Troll is a good example. Just stay between their legs and there isn't much they can actually do to damage you bc their hitbox is in front of them most of the time
Yes may want console player hosting though
I meant as a stat if you know what I should aim for
maxed iron armor, why would you aim for a "stat"?
Mainly because i don't know how much iron we'll farm and my troll is decently levelled
bosses are really mean when you dont know what to expect. Take the time to farm everything you can farm.
Root Mask is good for Bonemass as well for the latent poison reduction
Once you start having good armor and weapons, it becomes much easier to get more iron.
True I learnt that Vs that ice one whatever his name was
mom
Ye
its her name, you can trust me im canadian
Stagbreaker can help a lot to clear sunken crypts, especially when there are spawners. The AOE can dmg enemies through obstacles, making iron gathering pretty painless.
The trick with spawners is to not use a spear =_=
Once you have enough iron and a draugr elite trophy, you could upgrade to iron sledge for even better effectiveness
Is there any point to not just use iron mace vs bonemass?
Forgot about that think I need trader which haven't found though
Yeah, I think it takes ymir flesh as well for some reason
I'm like 40 in knives but the resistance just makes it kinda pointless right?
Yeah, he has a ton of HP and everything except blunt barely scratches him
ur fine, he's only resistant to slash
Isn't he very to pierce as well?
sshh, dont think about that
Is there a way to gain the ability to tp with ores no mods?
Yes, Ashlands
yes but its very late game
Shame
I think its better that way
Just gets tedious it's not extra difficulty just more time twiddling thumbs imo
yeah but sailing is peaceful
True
You can change world modifiers to allow metal tp if you want. Think it needs to be done on a fresh world tho
and you gotta think about how you want to take on the logistic of carrying the iron to your ship while keeping it secure
What for?
its a bit more involved that what you let on
for portal settings
I just put the stuff in chest and the ship in chest
So it's a thing?
I think thats kind of lame we can do that but what can I do about it?
Yep
That's cool but ye maybe to late

Obviously with bonemass your like forced into blunt what's its like past the plains boss?
Including plains boss I barely remember that
Best to experience yourself again
?
More of the same tbh, pierce is rarely good for bosses but often good for normal mobs etc..
If you dont remember some of the bosses, now a great time to re-experience them again
True I'm more so asking about resistances and how forced certain weapons are Vs them
Thanks
More resistance = longer fight = more fun
i died in plains can someone with good shit help me get my body back
If you can't find anyone to help, I'd recommend your old armor + HSS (1 health, 2 stamina) food to make the corpse run
Get in there, pick stuff up, get the fuck out
whats yalls gpu % when playing valheim
Normally around 40%
mines at 95-100%
its def a bitcoin miner ill just get the 20$
Use Afterburner to control your GPU.
Berries + running on your life, instant classic.
i dont think thats the issue
i have games more demanding and they dont use that much if the gpu + i got the game from a russian website
turned on vsync and it sits at around 20% usage
@brazen linden u get 40% with vsync on too?
wishlist it and wait for it to go on sale
wait
is it normal for valheim to use almost 100% of my gpu with vsync off
probably not
i had vsync off and every graphic setting to the max
Or you can use world modifiers "Portal Items"
plains boss basically forces you into spirit damage if you want him done quickly
Not really, its just the first boss for which you have weapons that do spirit dmg + he actually takes it, so many people simply use that to their advantage π it is a convinient way to kill him but nobody is forcing you into it
so can someone explain how to find serpent ? i go around ocean still didnt find one
They only spawn at night or in storm in the middle of the ocean π
So best chance you have for them is in night storm
alright
And they will despawn after night is over, so you need to make haste when encountering one.
Best suggested to try after getting a long ship, also bring a spear with you, keep paddling or sailing around night times until you find one, when you do find one, keep shooting at it until it's at like one shot away then wait for it to come near your boat and jump from the boat while mid air throw your spear at it using the secondary attack and when you land on water it should be dead and you would end up with all it's loot, works like a charm everytime i do it, basically you don't lose anything being sunk to the abyss, better than harpooning to shore
That's actually a solid tip, harpooning and sailing solo is tough D:
Works with bows and crossbows too. Especially frost arrows deal much more damage due to them being weak against frost damage.
yeah, anything is good but i find the spear to be handy and easy to do it with
Yeah and spears floating after the throw makes it useful.
good morning
yeah i got the serpent i manage to kill one but my ship destroy and all my material gone lol
not worth it any idea how to comeback to previous save ?
if your ships health is low and you got enough invetory to hold it's mats, stand close to the sail rod in the middle, that way if it gets wrecked you have chances to get the mats right as it gets destroyed
from the menu, character and world manager
yeah i should do that but my ass try to get to land
if you get the boat mats in your inv then dying is worth it, you can get back to the tomb and get back everything
playing shit that makes this game really really hard makes me appriaciate how easy it normally is ngl
Ashlands convinced me Mistlands is a nice biome
Ive kinda checked out since last year, have any interesting news dropped since?
TIL I cannot get iron from a Mistlands bridge in nobuildcost mode.
it was an extremely expensive lesson
Look in #news π
Is it an intended game design to make Yagg impossible to find?? 3rd play through with a friend and we have searched for multiple sessions for a yagg alter or location stone thing showing where he
Bog Witch last October. Very gamechanging stuff.
oh I mean since the beginning of the year, I played bog witch stuff during christmas break
Not really, just the structures that can have its vegvisir are rare and not all of them have it
There is one update before DN coming up, but no info when tho.
Same here its too laggy and dark
Mistlands felt magical and i really enjoy the greatsword even tho the wisp light is so bad
damn, looking at the BOTM submissions, my cathedral looks rubbish xD
Back in April they added the pet rock.
So nothing crazy new so far
How could I forget HIM?!
That reminds me is there a strategy for finding it? I've searched all the time when exploring new areas but none of them have been him?
At least 1000m distance from center, in first 4 biomes and in certain altitude, but the altitude requirement makes them easier to be found in first 2 biomes.
When you hover your cursor on it you will see "Rock" instead of "Stone". And it's noticeably different from regular stones, larger and smoother.
Is there a command to find him?
In the console, type: find pickable_stone rock
It'll show a map ping, so make sure that one is open before you open the console.
However it will only work if you already generated piece of land with the rock in it π
Ah, that's new one for me.
I had quite a bit of trouble finding one because of this when they were added π
but i dont think its exclusively rocky thing
So basically find command doesn't find, let's say, blueberry bushes for example if none has been generated in world yet? Correct @merry pebble ?
May as well use the seed viewer thingy, I had to use it to find Moder
It doesn't show that kind of pickable things like stones, wood and rocks.
Oh derp I thought I was replying to the person looking for Yagg
They were looking for Rock to build Rocky the pet rock.
I believe so, yes, but it is some time since i tested it, nearly 3 months, and my memory is not great π
This is important

Okay, I'll take your word regardless.
There is a Valheim Seed viewer website - I had to use it to find Moder and Yagg
Btw has anyone seen that Valheim Lore so far video on Embr's YT channel? Some super interesting theories about the Deep North boss and things, also very spoilery
Yea Iβve seen the solutions to it all but just feels like a real dumb design
If intended*
As i said, not really intended, and devs know about the lack of Yag vegvisirs π
Thank you so much! I will use it as soon as I can play.
The amount of vegvisirs on surface are similar to each biome. However, since Plains has no dungeons with interior area it lacks them vegvisirs much more than earlier biomes that all have dungeons with possible vegvisir locations.
Yea I'd say a few things will get shaped up after the 1.0 release, like fleshing out the Ocean biome and stuff
Do lox have uses outside of their drops? Wolves are great to keep your base safer from raids, asksvin let you ride on lava, but what do lox do?
Pretty much just used for their drops, as far as tames go. You can use them toβ¦ protect your baseβ¦ but their often more destructive than anything π
They can be used to transport materials π
loxes are great for bow training
destroy trees
Still 19,99 euros.
still 20 dollars/euros here, regional prices are not set by iron gate tho
dang. in my currency: it jumped from MYR 39 full price to MYR 66 full price.
That is unfortunate π¦
The Build of the Month channel is really cool! Great idea
I stumbled on the arena before I even found a vegvisir, I was on my way to a smoldering tomb.
y'all think i can stagger lock a 2-star dvegr mage with a blackmetal atgeir? because if he escapes the stagger i'm 100% sure i'm cooked. it's a support mage. most of his freinds died.
You should be able to i think π€ as long as it is the only enemy you are facing
Dvergr should be able to stagger easily... But I haven't fought them directly for some time so my memory can be faulty.
2 star has 1050hp and stagger limit is 30%, so you need to dish out 315 dmg for him to get staggered which seccondary of lvl4 BM atgeir does easily (it does 738 stagger dmg)
after he gets staggered you should be able to just continue attacking normally and keep him in stagger loop
oh yeah, boutta fight yag for my 2nd time ever. wish me luck
Good luck! π
i'm so dumb i tried to take my wolves to the portal room XD
t'was a sucess!
some really funny moments in #screenshots coming up
Send good luck I need my 2 star askvin
they'll haunt you till the rest of your days
Feel like a beast riding one
wait actually?
Indeed π
Posted a little video in the memes'n clips channel, It turns out I forgot about uploading my first ever troll kill. Watching this now I'm screaming at my noob self about all the mistakes... But gods it is fun to watch all the same. #memes-and-clips message
does epic loot mod synergize with warfare mod and the additional modded weapons?
Youβll get better answers in #mods-discussion
ah mb, assumed more ppl checked this chat and had a quick reply
More people here don't use mods, which is why mod based channels exist.
there is always stuff to do in valheim
one of the many reasons i love dis game!
this is a general question ive had for a while but is there a reason there arent armor/utility slots and i have to just waste actual inventory space for gear
Design choice from Irongate, basically.
wow
It can be a pretty touchy subject, thereβs been a lot of back and forth regarding it over the years. Some love it, some hate it.
Being able to put them in any slot rather than a specific slot makes it more versatile anyway.
itd be better to just have armor slots like terraria so i can actually use my inventory considering theres already a weight limit
You can use your inventory, and more flexibly than if you had dedicated slots.
no? armor slots like terraria are separate ones so that i dont have to have the armor taking up my regular inventory space
Worn equipment using inventory weight is something the developers want in this game. Why else would heavy armor have significantly higher inventory weight than light armor?
They could still have weight values and have dedicated inventory slots
^^
my point about weight thats cool and balanced
its js annoying to lose 5 inventory slots
They definitely could. It's just not something they're interested in. They want us to work on inventory management.
You arenβt losing slots, Iβm sure equipment was taking into consideration when the developers decided how big the inventory should be.
fair but even if thats the case it still feels worse because literally every survival game just has dedicated armor slots but in val it feels like i hve space i could be using for something that i have to instead dedicate to them
If we had 25 standard inventory slots and 5 armour slots I'm sure no-one would bat an eyelid though that would be FEWER slots than we currenty have.
but thats fine i was just wondering how intentional of a design choice it was and the answer sounds like very
For what itβs worth, there are some https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202312684364910612 regarding armor slots, youβre welcome to cast your vote
Shouldnβt it be six slots or are we not counting ammo?
I wasn't, but you could phrase the same argument with any numbers you want.
this is kinda my point its like. a logical fallacy isnt the word im looking for but its akin to that where it just feels worse to have to look at my inventory and feel like im losing space when most games just put the dedicated armor slots that arent open to other stuff anyway
Yeah, it's usually MORE restrictive yet people somehow people prefer it. It's weird.
yea so just get good enough to beat the game naked and you have 4 free slots
That's not remotely what I'm saying.
Yea it's what I said
Oh, fair enough.
The Scales method. Useful if youβre looking to pick up some extra grausten and sulfur in the Ashlands π€
And morgen hearts and asksvin bones etc
Volture eggs and asksvin bladders
The "Prostitute" Powder absolute classic
Iβm glad Iβm not the only one who read it like that at first
Thats what it will be called forever and ever for me hahahaha.
Scale issue if you can't do it, don't forget the torch!
These damn Celts man
Every game should have an Ironman challenge.
How?
Loxes can't break trees like birch and Oak, it'll say "Too hard", strangely Troll's can break those same trees.
You can technically use them to ride while encumbered to carry more weight. I personally feel like this is just kinda inefficient compared to other means? Because of this, I feel like lox are just really destructive cattle π
guys I am running better continents and when the world gets created I had about 5 places that could not be spawned in the map (Failed to place all Hildir_cave, placed 0 out of 3) do I have to restart until a map can spawn all locations?
Is that a mod? if it is, maybe people in this channel https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202550198174486599 might be able to help better.
Ty
Only 2 fish off from a fishing hat! I am all about globe-trotting side quests that ask me to interact with niche mechanics in exchange for a way to show off.
You load your entire inventory with metal or something, hop on lox and Ride whereever you want π
Im looking to play with people. Ive got a character in "Stone Age". Let me know
Check #1024264966712340510
Look in or make post in #1024264966712340510 π
thanks
very deliberate choice.
I was trying to find the ancient texts about it but couldn't find a definite answer π€
I got my suspisions on why it ended up like it did
Why are Bukeperries called like that and not Pukeberries
because the players voted and it became bukeperries π
Why would they vote for the wrong thing
This is why we never trust the players.
ask internet people π
Oh well, it is what it is
funny tho
Buk is a swedish word
it's basicly the "belly" area of the stomach
this entire area in red. is what in swedish is a "buk" π
Well that worked out OK then!
yup π
Good morning, folks! π
Hello! If theoretically there was no block animation and you would raise your shield instantly, could you parry by spamming? Is there any code against it?
Most games with parry mechanics have a spam prevention system
Parrying only checks if you started blocking within a quarter of a second before the attack. You can spam it as much as you like.
good shit, gonna try it.
Finally a way to transport metal to mountain π
thank you β¨
Quick question to @unborn junco or whoever has the knowledge to answer this:
I would like to build a PC mostly for Valheim (maybe other games), and need some CPU/board/GPU recommendations that just... work. I don't need the latest and greatest, but I would like to run Willibachs HD mod, Seasonality and Riverheim.
Thanks a lot!
Oh, and the board needs to fit into a MicroITX case.
I don't think this is the right channel for that question.
This channel is related about the game itself, not about the machines / OS it runs at.
I know. There's not really a good channel to ask this, though... At least I haven't seen one. Will be glad to move the question somewhere else, if shown the appropriate channel.
Actually, there is.
It's called https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202174832729661470
In which you could've posted that question, with the additional information to contact you by DM.
@unborn junco is typing... If I get my info, I'll be outta here quickly. π
I love building PC's and I love Valheim, its very helpful to mention a budget
In general, you will have less issues with Nvdia card and AMD CPU, and they don't need any tweaking
Dual CCD AMD CPUs (X3D label) are more finicky to setup (stuttering issues), so go for those that have X at the end of their name
Look for a single thread performance on a CPU
DDR5 systems exhibit less stuttering when loading locations while exploring, so I wouldn't go for DDR4 if you are not on a budget
Everything more specific is dependant on room, layout in your case of choice, thermals, budget
Thanks! I have some more questions. Can we move this to the general chat?
Random idea out of totally not very recent frustration: We should have "thatching boots" an equipment that prevents you from slipping off of 45 degree roofs
I hear you. π
guy has spammed this everywhere some kind of scam code
I messaged modmail π«‘
Valheim discord is under attack! Everyone brace yourself!
Discord is shaking!
π
Brings me back to the hack days, what a time
That was such a crazy day lol or rather couple of days. Watched it live.
Will we possibly get any more traders in the future?
Or is the swamp trader the last one planned?
They had an AMA and i'm pretty sure they said they didn't have any new traders in mind idk tho don't quote me

Even more stuff being added to the traders is plenty imo. I feel lucky I hadn't cleared Mistlands before the lightfoot mead became available. That's made things so much easier
Not to mention the feast food items, the plains feast should be mighty helpful for the Queen fight, cos I was gonna nom some Eitr food too
Honestly?
I wouldn't use feasts against a boss
Sure, they last a lot longer than regular foods
but you lose out on some important extra health/stamina/ and eitr
feasts are better for long term exploration
Dont they also give more total stuff?
The plains one was very high HP & Stam tho, I know the other ones are very much more geared towards long exploration or just doing base chores, I gotta double check it tho
nvm, top mistland food give more than the picnic
The big thing for feasts is the longevity
They last nearly 2x as much as regular foods (ignoring the ones that last for 30 min)
I'm gonna make loads of different food items first anyways and do a test run or two while I find the last sealbreaker fragment..that heckin key π₯²
They only spawn in dungeons right? Seed viewer told me one was in a Dverger tower, I suspect it just wants me to get into shenanigans tho
I just discovered that you can iron wood poles are smaller than any others. Thank god I have the option to cover them with the other options
They look nice and all, but not when trying to make a cozy building
As they also last longer their stats deteriorate slower.
I like using 2 best feasts available and 3rd option depending what stat I need more.
Eitr eitr feast is a goated combo (assuming feast is mistlands or higher)
Feasts are really good especially if your going full magic
Surely for mageplaying.
the balance of health and food is nice since you dont have to pick between either sta or health food
curious
has anyone ever bought the powdered dragon eggshell and actually used the troll endurance mead?
Yes, often, especially useful in the plains to bring back all the blackmetal from a camp in one trip
Useful in ssg speedruns too
I can get that - but honestly?
If Iβm worried about stat degradation due to time limits, Iβll just have multiple backups of my choice foods and eat it half way in a boss fight
I ainβt about to sacrifice my massive eitr reserves for longevity
The fight must be over already damnit! π
casts infinite fireball, then drinks an eitr potion for a top-up
Troll endurance mead is goated
Im only using it bc im getting stones from the mountains
and the stones keep getting stuck on the sides
Very good time for it tbh
I am honestly so worried about what the hel we are going to be carrying in deep north
You can get 3 carry weight boosters by the time you finish Ashlands for roughly 1k carry weight
for some things you can teleport I'd rather deadlift 6000 lbs and teleport it to where it needs to be
Soβ¦
What the hels are we lifting??? π
Icebergs, perhaps?
As long as it's straight ahead, that is. πΌ
for an earlygame fish, trollfish really drain your stamina
This doesn't mean we're expected to have them all active.
There's no way they could force you to since we can teleport everything at that point
Unless it's something really heavy at the bottom of a dungeon that would take you 20 minutes to bring out
I hope not π
As I return home I just see the destruction that my other tamed asksvins have done
Fishing is an art
Are you in a boat while doing your fishing?
Best fishing tactic is get in a boat and drop your line like 3 feet away
Works wonders for stamina consumption
Trick is to catch it as close as possible, having an insane amount of stamina and spamming E to catch it by hand as soon as it's possible
I know but what I do is when I see that the fish is approaching the bait I retract the line so its less travel distance
Trick is to never engage with fishing π
No troll fish for you π€
As little as possible, just enough for some troll endurance and some sailors bounty
Feast are really good especially when your building or doing other stuff that isnt generally fighting
just allows for a smooth early-mid game having that feasts available early on
unless it's been days it probably just auto stack
Iβve only been playing since Saturday and I already think this is one of the best games Iβve played in the last 10 years.
Also, how on Earth did they manage to package it all into a 1.3GB download?!
I know right???
This is one of the best games of all time in my opinion β€οΈβπ₯
Curious
It is honestly so refreshing to just play a game that remembers it is one
Sildar, will devs fix the issue with the crosshairs for bows and crossbows being unaligned?
in the combat update?
probably mostly because it doesnt have a bunch of 4k textures like a lot of games nowadays do
Probably - we'll just have to wait and see how the combat update comes along π₯³
Goody because missing your crossbow shots are not fun
Modern game problems:
Too many textures, not enough content π€¦ββοΈ
Indeed π
I save feasts for fighting, i feel very comfortable fighting with 2 health foods and 1 feast
I feel like i can parry anything
And if i dont, i prob won't die in 1-shot
You know @steel mica ...
I'd be pretty stoked to actually see water for the first time if all I had was a bubble bath and lava too π
#screenshots message
Wdym by this?
Your askvins are basically lava lizards - so them loving being in water rather than something that can burn you to a crisp is cute is all β€οΈ
Ah
Lizard but on roids
I just let them rome free so incase of a raid I can just run to them and they'll protect me
Necks on roids.
I plan to build a statue of odin but my god is that gonna take alot of reinforcement
Itβs still very impressive, thereβs a lot going on and the lighting is beautiful.
I canβt wait to do more exploring. I was on Reddit today and couldnβt believe what I saw on some of the building pages, some person has spent 800+ hours on an entire city.
is there anyone looking for a teammate?
Have you tried https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510 yet?
thanks
Anyone have tips for finding a 2 star askvin other than just go to ashlands at night
Without using dev commands: Go to Ashlands at night.
With using dev commands: spawn it in.
Oop oke the plains feast is 50 HP and stamina, so I think I'll go for seeker aspic, mushroom omelettes and serpent stew for the Queen fight! And then enjoy the experience of going all the way down south in the monster truck of boats
Good afternoon guys, is there any Brazilian here?
I'm also gonna go whole ham hock with potions ofc, think I'll go with lingering stamina Regen and double down on HP foods cos I'm sure to take some gnarly knocks. Kinda glad it's in a closed off, unique arena. Probably cos Gjalls/friendly Dverger
Why are you using magic and health food together? Don't you have a staff of protection?
- Asksvin usually spawn in areas with lava,
- Dig a pit beforehand and leave foods there,
- Kill all asksvin you encounter so they may spawn again,
- Use either harpoon to drag it in or lure it to leap attack at you so it jumps into the pit,
- You can cover the pit with grausten after getting it there,
- Stay close until it starts to tame.
I do but I'm not entirely confident I'll be able to get another one back up in time after it breaks when there's a tonne of extra enemies swarming me. Still kinda getting the hang of casting as I jump to avoid the animation locking me in place
I would rather have extra stamina for movement as the protection shield acts as another defensive layer.
And keeping distance is easier too.
I'm gonna try getting my magic and sword skills up to 40 before I go for the boss fight anyway, so I'll practice! I'm gonna have wiped all the fueling villages out before I know it π₯²
Jumping can be used for more than just magic, it allows you to perform almost any animation without slowing down. Try using it when you need to drink a mead or use your forsaken power. It also helps for melee attacks since jumping is already better than rolling to dodge most attacks so you can dodge and attack at the same time.
Aaahh oke so this is like, the knowledge
I have been murderated so many times trying to trigger my forsaken power π₯² thanks! I'm gonna do a push it to the limit training montage
Question: If I build a treehouse in black forest will trolls try and chop down the tree?
Yes
If you build a raised ground plateau it's troll proof. Bring fire arrows.
But trolls can hit through it. So donβt build anything within 6 meters of that raised wall
Wait you said plateau thatβs different
can someone help me learn the game
I have a base on one. It doesn't seem to take any damage from trolls.
They will start attacking the tree once in range
They dont attack unless in range of something
you or the tree house
they dont actually target the tree itself but rather you and any nearby building pieces
Where do you need help?
They just beat on the side of my plateau while I pick them off with fire arrows.
Yes your tree house is practically invicible if you have terrain walls surrounding it but not too close
but if that terrain wall wasnt there, bye bye tree house
completely plateau house. Lots and lots of rocks.
I would love a rudimentary form of mechanization
i want to put a replica of the Padova clock on a tower (after i design one) but the hands will never move which saddens me.
I'm sure Minecraft has something like that.
When will the final version of the game be released?
when deep north is complete
they have not said when yet, possible combat update before the deep north comes out.
bruh lol
they have not said anything
unfortunately
they are taking time to make a good update
super excited for it
It's not just possible combat update, it's definite combat update coming up.
"possible" meaning soon I forgot to add that
Ah okay, for me "possible" seemed more like "something might coming" but thanks for clarifying. π
all good, I think it will be a great update honestly can't wait to build a new armory with whatever they add.
That's what that word usually means, yes.
Same, and also what else might be added to the game.
π
Currently light armors ftw!
I forget if they said that new bone armor will be before OR after deep north
The teased armor set is coming in combat update.
There'll be no content after Deep North, so that's an easy one.
very fun, I prob won't use it much prefer heavy builds but will gladly display it on a stand.
We don't know yet if it will have some kind of set bonus, quite excited for what that will be.
that is true, might make it worth ditching my normal build.
People will no doubt set expectations far too high and complain when it doesn't meet them.
welcome to the internet
Nope that's already confirmed it was shown on instagram to have a set bonus
I have some kind of small expectations that I think would be really nice and fitting for the upcoming update, but my world won't crumble even if they aren't added. Slope combat improvement alone is a huge one.
can't make out what it says, sadness
yea, but it's def a set bonus element
Ah, forgot the AMA teasers lol.
oh 1000%
if I had to guess the set will have something to do with high attack speed maybe light weapons.
no one seems to have scavanged the other AMA takeover π¦
I can see some stuff in it aswell π€
I didnβt notice anything we hadnβt seen already
I have, and noted to some people still claiming that the skull on pauldron would have beak that it indeed has fangs.
Same
I won't point out the 2 things then π€
We've seen the aurora, the armor set, not sure what slide 8 is but after that yea idk
Oh the tease.
Is this something new? #screenshots message
I was thinking about that, Iβm not sure where that exact explosion is used
Gotta see how the unstable lava rock explosions look like, don't remember.
True, tested. Unga bunga'd one with Slayer.
I'm not falling for this again.
Been playing Valheim again, we resumed our playthrough in the Ashlands. My buddy and I sailed to mystery location 1, and our Drakkar got destroyed in the process
Mage is a lot of fun, but seeing all the cool weapons and collecting Dyrnwyn fragments makes me miss good oleβ melee
do gjalls really just drop one bile bag? all of that trouble for only 3 bombs per bile bag doesn't seem right.
I believe so yeah, starred variants obviously drop more, but they can be tricky.
Maybe gjalls should drop blood clots snice its basically just a giant flying tick
along with the bile bag
You already get blood clots from the ticks they spawn
Nothing beats the good ol' melee style.

Id like more
other than yeah the ticks give blood clots
curious
Return to the infested mines you've cleared, they respawn some of the enemies inside.
can you capture a gjall and make a tick farm
Are you able to sell treasures to the bog witch?
All npcs/traders yes
Ahaa okay good good
Im gonna try and capture a gjall in the future
Give the staff of embers a go, just 1 Eitr food and you can have fireballs on tap. It absolutely spoils you for area damage
how rare is it to find an iron gate down inside a sunken crypt? I think this is the first time I have found one
Itβs pretty rare, consider it a fun little easter egg, nice find!
fun easter egg and a reference to the dev comp :)
can't wait for the combat update πΌ
I honestly don't care much either way, to me combat is more or less perfectly tuned as is. Sloped aiming can be frustrating, but being able to jump out of the enemy's hit "ray" has saved me more than once when I have been too panicked to dodge. Also getting on top of a rock in plains with a herd of angry lox or a wolf hunt on your tail - lifesaving strategies. Sloped combat being fixed is going to be a double edged blade. If we can aim at an angle, rest assured it will apply to mobs too. Cheezing stuff from a height will most likely become a lot more complicated...
aye, i'm doing a magic run this time, but i'm still stuck in the blackmetal age. I've been juggling around my 6 black cores to make a feather cape, so what do you think the best thing to make would be now?
More important than the bile bag is the blood clots from the ticks they spawn
Have a large stockpile of stuffed mushrooms and major healing meads from all the ticks I've killed
And while stuffed mushrooms isn't a BiS food it's very good when I return to an older biome and won't need something particularly strong
You can deconstruct the galdr table and make the forge or other things that need 5 black cores as needed to progress before you have more
Think sausages but for magic
All the better - no too cheesy strategies, kill or be killed.
Now that's a sentence that's never been said before.
I have LOADS of sausages sitting in storage lol from when I killed loads of draugr, and whenever I revisit an old biome it's like, i dont need this BiS hp
And with magic it's kinda the same, 1 blood clot and a bunch of farmable materials makes a stuffed mushroom. Doesn't need sap. It's a cheap food.
I always have more sap than blood clots
I make a sap farm with usually min around 4 collectors with pathways between them, and torches lining it, works very well.
Meh, needing sap to make refined eitr
Idk, just end up not needing blood clots for many things so have a large stockpile of them sitting around.
If I want more black marble, inevitably I'm exploring the mistlands, get plenty of blood clots
And normally I do want black marble, I like building with it.
On the hunt for the Tetra! Its pretty great because mountain is actully my favorite Biome.
Good opportunity to collect a lot of goodies from the frost caves. My favorite dungeon in Valheim βοΈ
Frozen lake, so close
Agreed! The amount of improvement between Swamp dungeon and mountain!! The frost caves almost don't feel procedural but hand crafted!
some swamp crypts have absolutel amazing layouts too though just less vertical, I love both the same
Are ||fallen valkyrie|| the only enemy that can dmg the fortress?
the explodey things can damage the ground near it and dig holes depending on where they go boom
βοΈ actually, there might be
There's none planned but there's potential for change.
Lowkey Casual death penalty keeps my mind at peace
the words chosen by Grimmcore when answering that question were "most likely"
will they damage the base' perirmeter walls?
to back up my claims:
https://www.youtube.com/live/YvMHYOZCKQ8?si=lahxvKJInVeInfWj&t=2635
.
might've answered the wrong message
Eh, Grimm has said a lot of things over the years. I tend to take them with a pinch of salt.
for the conflicting things I just assume the latest is the correct one
yeah i did lol
when hard no's turn into maybe's then into most likely's it's interesting
Yes they can do that, the ones made from earth but actual fort walls not sure
I'm looking forward to build in the DN after I start to survive reasonably well there sometime next year most likely.
Just did the first non fortress base in Ashlands a little while ago
what about a deeper north?
an underworldly north
imagine the endgame, you flip the world coin and it's a whole new world
I just thought about it. What would happen if we were allowed to dig as deep as we wanted? It is, after all, a disk shaped world
flatheim
Its like, one more pickaxe swing and whoopsie daisies im an astronaut now.
Smiffe has said things wouldnβt happen and they did happen so also take his words with a grain of salt then too ( #suggestion-discussion message )
my favorite lines from that interview involve them saying my ideas would be cool to have in the game
oh to be heard
I know that feeling. Back when I was playing phantasy star online 2 new genesis, everything I said the game should have got into the game eventually. Especially the stuff everyone said was a bad idea.
oh yeah, those have additional weight
my suggestion for firespread to be an optional world modifier had a lot of dislikes, and it eventually made into the game, not sure if it came from me but it was added so that's a win anyway
I said "we need something to do between events, a relaxing activity like a card game or whatever". We got a card game.
I said the current weapon model wasnt as fun as it seemed and we needed something that was more lasting, possibly with some upgrade lines like in monster hunters. We got that.
There were other stuff too but I forgor
I was definitely very vocal about it, got Grimmcore to speak about it in VC in 2021 about the build they had with it, then in the AMA on reddit, then Ashlands happened and they found a good reason to put it in
now I'm hoping for a type of explosive eitr staff that can modify terrain
or geological staff that can move the ground up or down for deffense or even attack idk, I just like rocks and dirt
Oh yeah, I said that it was unacceptable that we had to use upgrade materials one by one when we needed over 200 of them to upgrade a single weapon and we could only use them 5 at a time. Legit took half an hour of clicking for me to upgrade a single item out of five. They fixed that soon after.
Essentially, what I am saying is that I am obviously a genius and everything I say is objective truth.
Also I value humility. This is important.
same
we should collab and do game dev
Well Im already doing that, but on a different kind of medium.
well I shouldn't say dev
let's direct game development, don't wanna get my hands dirty
Thats called being a consultant
don't wanna code, just wanna point
If they win, its because they listened to you. If they fall, its not your fault because you were just a subcontractor.
I have no experience but I do want to apply
Someone on the net once said that you dont really need experience to start making games
to be hired as consultant that is
oh
I'd 100% invest in the staff of protection & embers and the mistwalker as well! The frost staff is good vs big single targets, like seeker soldiers, fueling berserkers, but embers will come in clutch much much more often, and totally substitute for the bile bombs, plus it's something you can level a skill for. Krom and the other weapons are a lot of fun, but I feel like they are more geared towards other biomes. I'm in the process of finding a nice patch of swamp with multiple spawners nearby so I can head there and level up all the magic before the boss fight. Dead raiser is a lot of fun too, but it needs 100 Eitr per use, so you need to eat 2 Eitr foods to use it, and imo it's useless in Mistlands because of all the sloped combat and the enemy 1 shot the skellies till you get a load of levels in em. Have fun!
You arenβt using shield on your skelliesβ¦?
You do shoot yourself in thine own foot good sir! π
Even with the shield they are not that usefull π but ofc much better than without it π
The skellies are only supposed to draw aggro - not kill the mobs for you! π€
Also, skellies are an excellent way to level blood magic
That is true π
Much better than just breaking your shield
do not underestimate a good distraction. While skelets might not absorb much damage before death, all the excess damage dealt to them is wasted damage that could have taken you down instead
(I know someone else made the same point more or less, I am a slow typer :) )
Skellis are more useful if you're not "afraid" of resummoning them all the time and sometimes going slow so they can keep up
Actually burial chambers too, although much more rarely. I have found a few huge ones with several passages up or down or both. And the ambience in them is amazing. Kinda sad there's little or no reason to enter them after bronze age.
https://valheim.com/news/regarding-mods/ here is devs stand on them π
But people use them all the time, if you want some recomendations you can look in #mods-discussion
thanks
When is deep north update coming ish?
We have no idea π
We have been told that it will not be anytime soon tho, and there will be one more update before it π
Never trust AI...
True
Ai picks up what other write on internet. So what other bots/AI/Npc's write about on internet, are "AI truth"...
What a timeline to live in...
Nah, immediate jail time if you ever download even one.
||
Kidding.||
In my country, we go to jail if we download a car...
I do!! I even use the shield on my chickens as I hop into a portal
It's just in Mistlands in particular they rarely ever make contact with what they're trying to hit cos slopes, so I prefer having more HP and stamina than investing in double Eitr noms. I have taken down every fueling village on my map so far with my merry band of skellies, I'm trying to find an area of swamp with a lot of spawners around and build a portal there for ez levelling before boss fights cos it's kinda the perfect spot for quick respawned enemies, without the risk of me dying to a well timed group of deathsquito.
Also I love the kinda Easter egg of the skellies having some of the same names as some of the characters on the rune stones
Guys I had a question
I am currently using bronze armor but heard that troll armour is most like give the same amount protection while giving the sneaky stats and also lightweight so less stamina cost
So just was wondering which will be worth it to go
Use both and figure out which one suits your playstyle best.
Light armor is more suited for rangers and rogue-like combat, while heavy armor is more the tankish style of gameplay.
Once you found which one is the most useful to you, put the other one on display on an armor stand, so you got some backup armor in case things go wrong. (and things will go wrong eventually)
Thanks !!
Just a warning, you will have to face the same dilemma again when reaching the 6th biome. But for a somewhat different reason.
Gotchu
As a thought for this, you should also consider how you want to play weapon and shield wise
The way you block damage depends on 2 factors
Block armor, which is applied if you decide to try and block an attack
Then you have regular armor armor which is always applied when you take damage, but is only applied after the damage reduction from blocking
If you use heavy armor, you are getting a nice damage reduction with or without a shield
If you do light armor, you might want to practice using a buckle type shield or getting good at dodging cause you are gonna die real quick if something decides to throw hands π
I like being an absolute tank, so I do heavy armor and a tower shield since it has a high block armor to go with my high armor armor
And tower shields do knockback when enemies hit you, so itβs helpful for getting a number of smaller enemies out of your face
hola guys is there a mod that can replace better continents? cus i think last one isnt work now
thx
Ugh, I'm kinda sick of Ashlands for the moment, so I'm thinking of either taking the cloth and go slumming in lower biomes to level magic skills, or I'll simply sail off to explore uncharted islands (wearing the cloth, so killing stuff will still do the former). OR starting from scratch on another world, to get that early game vibe again. Ashlands is awesome in many ways, but damn it is exhausting.
Iβm taking a well earned brake myself π
Is intense is that biome π
Indeed
good morning
That's the mage set in Ashlands right? So if you play pure mage I would assume yes. If not, a waste of materials most likely.
I'm hoping to defeat the queen tonight, super duper apprehensive to head straight to Ashlands after π« might go do another sealed tower or something for a bit of funne
I used it for awhile but did enjoy it for my magic builds, really depends on your play style.
yoooo
the scale is here
Watch out I might start talking about skill expression
and how deep north shouldn't have heavy armor

I would like to see a winter cape like coat similar to the ashen cape covering the players face
Just an armor made of seal hide.
A small sacrifice
Im curious
What is the biggest base in valheim that is built from the ground up, no devcommands, just straight resource gathering and building a huge base
I would say that they're legal as long as you don't try to sell your modded version as "Craft From Chests Valheim" or similar. But, if you're truly concerned, then I would contact the various authorities around the world to find out. Copyright law is a freakin' Gordion Knot, however, so it'll be a tough slog for you to find out.
Deep north has light and lighter armor
hardlight
Deep armour.
Medium armour
Are trees allowed?
Wdym by trees
Using trees as a foundation.
Pretty much everything is fair game as long as your not using devcommands to have inf resources
Wait no I get what you're trying to say
what I meant is whats the biggest base in valheim, no devcommands , no inf resources, just hands, and creativity, and a dream to build a big base
I had a stupid thought. Chilly Beans in the Deep North. Use them to make a Mead of Tailwind for 30 seconds of tailwind whilst sailing or using the Asksvin Cloak. Effective and moderately juvenile.
Although I'm half expecting there to be something more minty up there. Surely, there's a special type of crop that flourishes in the freeze.
Iβm guessing theyβll have a Valheim exclusive crop that mirrors something IRL, like vine berries
Breath Mints from Mint crops. Throw them at Yagluth and he can't use his fire breath. Delightfully useless at that point.
The new foods are always the most exciting part of new updates for me
I'm personally hoping for an eitr-themed cape to lower eitr usage a bit and some newer necromancy weapons. The skeletts and unwieldy flame trolls are getting a bit bland for us 3 necromancer mains.
I really want a new summon weapon too
Oh wow, thatβs huge π
It's a shame the flaming trolls are aggressive. I really, really wanted to pet one.
check screenshot
its all hand gathered resources
I did, thatβs what I was referring to π
I still got the plains base and mistlands base to do π
I could see a wraith summoning item, could be interesting.
Had this thought the other day- might expand on it⦠but it would be interesting if you could use the components of Dyrnwyn in perhaps some ritual or something to make a staff that summons charred to fight for you.
O wait I was thinking upgrading the dead raiser to the charred version, summons charred skellies instead of normal ones but it requires a material that is only gatherable in the ashlands
similar to the sword fragments
How about a staff that summons magic greylings who explode when they die? Use a high knockback weapon to turn them into projectiles
A ballistic missile at that point

Just yeet your summoned greyling
A ranged-based flying summon would be nice to contrast the purely melee ones we have now. I can see wyverns getting a more developed form in a dedicated frost biome.
The dead raiser spawns melee or archer skeletons randomly but I'd like it to be chosen by using primary/secondary attack
Summon greyling, baxe poke, repeat
A flying ranged summon wouldn't be killable by most enemies, too op
True. Magic-based and grounded?
I've already talked about neck summons (a lot), they could alternatively spawn as neck mages like skeletons spawning as archers
Is that a neck with a wizard hat and staff?
It could be
I love it.
Neck! Use Hydro Pump!
Neck! Use exploding greyling!
It's strange, but I kind of want a neck pet. Just so I can give it pets after a long day. Park it in the base and it'll teleport to your bed to sleep at your feet when you sleep.
Level up fists skill and oneshot them with your bare hands
Random observation. Chickens and Hens have no eyes. You can't "unsee" this.
wtf
Looks like it has eyes to me π
Boar is a similar boat, where itβs eyes are kinda shadowy
The chickens definitely do not have eyes. Hens maybe but it's just one slightly darker pixel.
Oh fair, didnβt consider the chicken
Still, every time you look at them, the thought of them possibly strangely having no eyes become a bit more noticeable.
If the Staff of Protection uses the caster's blood as a shield, does that mean vikings with blood diseases can pass them to others?
Does it use the casters blood as a shield? I interpret it as using the eitr to cast the shield physically harms us
I interpret it as using blood to give to some deity in exchange for a magic effect π€
There will be some content, big fixes and such after deep north after 1.0. I've said so before. But the gameplay progression is set after deep north.
I wouldn't think so. If the shield is blood, wouldn't it have to get in someone's bloodstream to give them the disease? Might be effective against Morgens if it is though.
Also isn't the staff of prot made out of the blood clots from ticks
Been a while since i've used magic

Magic is heretical
Still no ember staff emoji π
Still no Dyrnwyn emoji π
One might say that the blood clots arenβt used to physically craft the staff, but is instead consumed upon creating the staff?
Iβm being nit picky, but itβs a fun convo lol
You don't need dev commands anymore. Just use the "no build cost" modifier and you can build using everything you have discovered for base building.
Ah
Dun dun duuuuuuuuin! π
Jotun puffs, Jotun puffs! (Eat em' up. Eat em' up. Eat em' up.)
Im so afraid to give my asksvins food

Because the moment I give them 1 stack of food they devour all of that and produce eggs like the wazooo
Using the obliterator to nearly one shot Eikthyr is cool π
THIS DAMN FISHES
You can just about 1 shot him with a knife pounce if you time it just right. There's like a half second window before the boss locks onto you where you can get in a backstab hit.
what is the logic behind parrying, like dmg wise how much can you parry, is it when u have more parry armor than the total damage dealt or what
There is this spreadsheet of the mechanics of blocking and parrying, found in pinned messages.
dont see it
nvm found it
if the queens damage was doubles can i parry it still? u reccon
You mean the double claw attack? I think it can be parried iirc.
parry has no use agaisn't bosses
just any attack but it has over double damage
Well, parry blocks more damage but costs more stamina and bosses are immune to stagger.
Umm, starred? I have no experience of those mods.
all it does is 50% more dmg and 100% mroe hp
I have experience only from Queen without any mods. Not even from hard difficulty yet.
was parrying easy?
With buckler it's easily parriable, but I usually rely on dodging more against bosses.
then i have a chance
also what is the item that i see in a video being thrown at the boss?
Which video?
And what does the item look like?
Does it look like explosive? Might be bilebomb.
valheim top 5 ways to kill the queen, throwable that does tick damage
The queen has some of the highest knockback in the game, four of her attacks have 250. Rolling will avoid this knockback, otherwise youβre spending so much time running back to her.
ye, vile bomb
Yeah, bilebomb.
Craftable in workbench, require sap, bilebag and resin (iirc).
i hate the bilebag part but its doable
What happened to the other 8999
Lets not talk about that
The other asksvins uhh
It was a worthy sacrifice
If you wanna recreate the hilarious disaster I did
heres how to re-create it
Step-1 get two asksvins
Step-2 get as close as you can to one of the asksvin and then harpoon them
Step-3 ride the other asksvin
Step-4 watch as your viking lad gets launched at mach 10
Could you put it in #memes-and-clips ?
I cant record it now unfortunately since now my brother is now using the laptop π
Gotta try lol.
Fair warning leave your best gear at your base
and maybe get a portal and some stamina potions
I got so lucky on where I landed
Dw I'm trying it in my test world.
I landed on a black forest biome so I was able to get back home
I have no idea what happened to the other asksvin I used but its probably long gone
I went under the map and got teleported to the oceab near a black forest biome
About to try my first build where I don't terraform the land to be totally flat - I'm gonna try to work with the natural terrain and only raise/lower bits to fit
Succeeded with one asksvin to launch myself a bit, even without riding other one lol.
DANG! Succeeded even more successfully!
Gotta see how the clip seems.
Nothing is happening
Bye bye asksvins XD
Only one was needed, that launched me to orbit lol.
I found this out when I was taking asksvin back to their cage
check the screenshot channel xd
You mean this #screenshots message one?
Yep
Hah, finally. https://www.pcgamesn.com/valheim/new-survival-game
so i pranked my dad with askvin eggs
i put 82 in his base everywhere and there now everywhere
Yeah, some people even called the new RuneScape survival a "Valheim killer".
System Shock 2 is the next valheim killer
@elder tendon Making my raft with special powers lol https://i.imgur.com/wQeHwLt.png
My friend got banned from this server YEARS ago and would like back in are there appeals?
Not really sure how any game can be a Valheim killer, since Valheim is already a dead game. Like itβs dead dead. Dead upon arrival, no one plays itβ¦ it only sold like a few million copies?
Dead. Game.
Any game titled "______ killer" is 99.999999% going to be dogshit.
Valheim should have a more advanced physic engine so that we can run the valheim space program.
anyone want to start a fresh xbox game?
Anyone on pc got a group world or starting one anytime soon would love to join one
have a look in #1024264966712340510 and its also good to mention where you are from, location & timezone sorta things because its better to play with people nearby
Maybe sending DM to @dusky pivot can help.
How can they modmail this server they are banned from it lol
Your friend will need to make a pilgrimage to Sweden to confess their crimes.
Maybe you could message @dusky pivot on your friends behalf? Lol Iβm sure theyβll work it out π
You can send the DM.
Ya I DM'd modmail
I've never seen someone unbanned.
I really like having all my stuff conveniently in one home base tower. But with the Mist/Ash updates, I'm running out of space. I also have no safe place for the Eitr Refinery.
I could theoretically dig out a cellar but there's a central pillar in my home that's imperative to its support. If I accidentally broke the ground under that pillar and my tower crashed down I'd prob never want to play in my main server again. I might even uninstall the game.
Will a manual world backup work as an emergency failsafe? Like if I decide to do a black marble lined cellar that avoids the middle of the floor and I hit the middle by accident, will the backup let me undo it?
We live and die by the mechanics, if a tower falls, a tower falls
definitely not me struggling to build my plains base
Then no basement for me lol
Youβll have to work on adding some support structures like raising the ground or building up with metal supports
Your gonna need alot of support especially in the middle of your base
if you plan on making a basement
My plan would be to dig around the center area
When I first built the tower it was meant to be my final and permanent main base so I wanted it to be spacious enough for all my stuff. As I built up, I used rock until I couldn't anymore. I switched to wood and built upwards with that until I couldn't anymore. In other words the tower is at its stability limit. So if ANYTHING happened to the foundation walls or central pillar, I imagine it'd fail stability checks at the top of the wood and rock and probably start crumbling down.
I reeeeeally wouldn't bother with bile bombs to primarily kill the queen. I just did the fight last night and it lasted a long time, between trying to find it through the mist, navigate the arena and deal with all the homies the queen was the easiest part of the fight till the last half of her HP - do you not have any magic staffs? At least using those you also level them up! Skellies actually came in clutch. Using frost staff while she was attacking them did the most damage, good luck!
Check out player stats on Steam or watch Valheim videos on YouTube and then share your opinion.
sarcasm was not detected
The sarcasm could be smelled all the way here to Europe, thats how much of it was in there π
For real
π€£π€£π€£π€£
Then i dont uderstand your reply much
Ah, so it was that, not the smell of rain when I opened a window. π
I just woke up πππ
Its fine π
Preparing myself for the Ashlands today..seeing stuff at a distance again will be neat!
New glasses?
@jagged pivot #1386284593195384902 message sorry to ping, but BotM channel has long timeouts (not discussion channel makes sense) so i'll reply here
about the castle build: i don't know precisely, maybe spawn commands are ok, not sure, if you got a modded armor then yes, just to be sure maybe it's better to remove it (didn't see the armor)... im i posted this just for advice with the goal to preserve validity, but not sure about the strict rules (also not competing myself so it is genuine concern)
I believe you, only thing not vanilla is armour, but in hindsight it is not in the submission anyways. Il try to ask a mod about it because its such an easy fix if so
yup that's the way, i'm not sure, and the plants are nice looking, so it won't be right to remove them just out of a doubt (also won't be that huge deal on the overall building if eventually have to be removed)
Oh I have torn down bigger castles because I did not like a few walls not lining up haha
ehehe yep i know the feeling, that one looks totally valid tho π
Ight, no bilebombs. I'll probably be only going melee, however a buddy or two of mine will be using range/magic
Oh having friends for boss fights, lucky π₯² the biggest help imo was having tonnes of lingering stamina mead. Mainly cos I was on an Eitr heavy diet
Also gotta say the message about Ashlands from Munin after defeating the queen is very hype
Ashlands probably has the 2nd best introduction in valheim
The tense sailing theme, munin introducing you to the ashlands
and maybe a certain enemy attacking you
Blackforest remains as the 1st best introduction biome
The introduction of mining, and the famous troll
not in Ashlands yet but 100% agree on sailing theme πΆ
It really gets your adrenaline pumpin and boy it really does especially when you land
yup, watched some live stream here, awesome
Personally I would rebuild with more knowledge of the space needed, if this is happening at the Mistlands tier, you're just plain going to be needing more space.
I built a lil witches hut for my Galdr table, I was a bit perplexed with needing to build the food prep table too as I hadn't played for like a year. You'll pretty much have to build a base in Ashlands too tho
I like to avoid the 'everything in one building' approach, and made a proper little village that can accommodate virtually anything.
I like to make a central storage warehouse and have buildings around it. Blacksmith, meadhall/kitchen and magic/advanced crafting
Donβt take my word for it. See for yourself how Valheimβs very own community thinks of their game.

Best soundtrack in the game π₯°
@heady parcel #screenshots message heβs reflecting on his life and has found what gives him peace
"Troll think what else in life than smash."
Is there a way to see the seed when you join a server?
Try printseeds in the chat menu
Dunno if that works or not but that'd be the way to do it
Iβll try thanks
Yeah, he stood there for the longest time just looking, then turned around to stomp a bit, but turned back and kept staring out over the sea.
yes
Idk, my first entrance into a swamp is my most memorable experience in the game I think
Just see the earth shifting and noping out of there
Embla set doesnβt need upgrades dude
My favourite soundtrack in the game is probably mistlands though, I love how it's calm and yet has reverse-cymbal style crescendos to set you on edge
Current highest quality, so yeah.
You do NOT need to upgrade your magic robes cause all itβs doing is increasing armor and durability
So donβt do it
Save those resources for upgrading your staves π₯³
Yeah, do it once there's nothing left to upgrade
Just donβt get hit - throw trolls at it
I mean you literally have a magic shield that is worth more than upgrading your robes
I upgrade them eventually just because I have a habit of being lazy when revisiting older biomes lol
Is there anything other than Seeker soldiers which is capable of cutting down Yggdrassil Shoots in the mistlands? (Talking purely about enemy damage)
Cause I kinda want to try building around these trees and incorporating them into the builds look. You can't just plant them after all
Can't be sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if gjall bombardment will destroy them too
But if there's sources I can't keep out so easily
Don't want falling trees to destroy what I've done
They don't. Only soldiers in Mistlands do.
