maybe spend a day gathering resources or unclearing bits of your map?
im just waking up, playing a little runescape
new or old?
i play both, still got my main from 2001. but im on OSRS to game with my Dad ( hes 70 lol ) and get ready for the new skill
that's cool that you game with your dad, i'm jealous. is dragonwilds any good?
i havent played it, im not happy with Jagexs direction at this time, and i feel that making us pay for that game is insane
after we been fighting them about MTX and Season passes, they just trying to squueze all our money at this point
season pass system is one of the worst things in gaming history fr
i dont like them either, hopefully that trend will die out soom...but its been going for what feels like over a decade
Makes too much money to die out any time soon, unfortunately
yeah for the amount of effort they gotta put in forsure, recycled skins, and maps. its us, we just need to stop buying games lol
anywho, today im gonna finish moving my base, i found a nice location im ready to call Home
https://discordapp.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202267437647527977/1385315704936599595
Base is inbetween 3 Biomes. so i should have lots of progression in this area.
It'll definitely make Mountains easier
It's also decently close to water in the southwest, so you can ship ore there fairly easily
yes, when i get on, ill take a pic of where i started building, im an okay builder in MC, so hopefully once i get more familiar, my creativity will follow.
Fader literally just ran away from me???
You're just that scary
Must be it. Also did they change something recently because I died fighting Fader and his health bar didn't restore to full π€·ββοΈ
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
He doesnβt get his HP back by defeating you, he regenerates over time
Damn, beat me to it lol
And of course if you fast forward time by sleeping the game tracks that and applies the appropriate health increase
Anyone know when the upcoming update will happen and if that means I'll have to generate a new world or explore more to experience it?
No new world needed as long as you haven't generated the terrain before the update
I guess you won't have to, there were no mentions of new content afaik.
Regarding when, no one knows.
That said if you weren't referring to the Deep North update
No timetable laid out by Iron Gate.
@vocal rivet What are you wondering about? Did I say something wrong?
We're definitely getting new content.
Thanks for the answers! I was just wondering because my current playthrough I'm about to fight moder and I'm wondering if I should take a break before the plains (because I'd be shocked of the new armor wasn't from the plains
With the next update before Deep North? I understood the question in that way. Or did I miss something beyond sloped combat and a new armor set?
well, id call a new armor set 'content'
Well your answer may have sounded a bit that we will get no new content at all π even when thats not what you meant most likely
No, I'm fully aware that DN will be new content. π
Didn't seem like it.
Sorry, didn't want to be misleading anybody. π«£
No worries π
does anyone else think magic should be available a little earlier? like swamp to build your skills
Its fine where it is imo π you will have it for third of the game as a late game "class" basically
I don't think it's needed at all. But where it is is fine.
can someone help me under stand the "you are sheltered" vs "you are exposed" like i understand, its when im under a solid roof, but not floorboards? am i missing out on something if i have floorboards in my roof?
https://discordapp.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202310893757530142/1385336046027280576
this is also just a storage/workbench area
It will rain through them π
You need proper roof pieces for the shelter, floor pieces don't work for that.
okay, and rain just gets me wet and puts out myfire?
And damages anything that can be damaged by rain, including the floor pieces but only up to 50%
okay, ill fix my roof when i get back from this trip. ty for the explanation. ( also roofs seem to be my bane in building games )
Any building tiles that donβt take rain damage count as roof pieces (roof, stone pieces, etc.) and if it does take rain damage, it will not protect you or your fire from the rain.
Nobody can be great at everything π you will improve gradually
my shacks are atrocious, i got these little pop up rest stops i just pieced together. its quite comical
whenever you feel like tackling it and learning the building mechanics they will be there. its quite fun once you start getting the hang of it. You have to actively build and think in advance tho
well, do like to consider myself a decent builder in minecraft. like i have enough imagination and creativity that when i decide to build something it will turn out pretty similar to what i had in mind. now that im in the bronze age, and found a spot i plan to hunker down in. ill start to take some more time. ill show what i have sofar. but mostly im just carting things from spawn to here.
2nd death...ffs
Many more to come π only 2 deaths so far is quite good
yeah, it was my fault, i was pushing my bronze sword to its limit in a raid, nothing to stress over, ez to get to my stuff
I have found that the number one cause of death for me...
Is me... xD
Overconfidence.
Yep, or not paying attention π
100% i like to mess around, i mean...i am here to have fun
So we have the all-powerful Frostner... if there were an atgeir/spear made of silver would we call it the...
π
πΆοΈ π
π
Frostfar.
Nope, we would call it Himminafl π
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Himminafl
Oh snap, that thing does use silver!

There is also a spear made with silver
I have started to fall in love with raising the earth 6 or 7 units before I built any structure or garden.
Prevents almost all sorts of raids or enemies.
Aside from Lox when they push each other up the rock wall to destroy everything.
Who dropped this bronze? where did my adze go?......its all coming back to me now.
if you wait until next biome you unlock some more build pieces
im not going to do too much, just my workshop and a place to cook my food. i got a rough shack for my spawn point, thats all i need atm.
are ppl nice if you just pop into a vc?
Very much depends on the people π
I'd say usually.
so raids can occur once a day? or can you get multiple in a day?
Probably
Once every 46 minutes game checks if all conditions for a raid are met, if they are there is 20% chance of random enabled raid happening π
Iβm extremely polite
alr
reason was asking im bored and wanted to see the vcs in here but i am scared of ppl sometimes π
PPL, what a spooky bunch.
π
im pretty new to this game, but ive been in a lot of servers, this is one of the friendliest communities ive seen so far, they even answer all my noob questions like how do i find wood.
For wood you do three backflips, turn around six and a half times and then perform a rain dance ofcourse π
thats what im saying, id never have figured it out on my own.
Youtubers doing challange runs be like:
LOL
if i just sit in a vc will someone join or will they only join if yk ya
π i feel dumb asking this
Quite often people join π
lol better then my guild server
very rarely do ppl get in vc but half of em are ancient its an old guild for an old guild
Prbably yeah
lol maybe later trying to teach my lil brother too cook
its a living nightmare he has zero patience
good luck, its an amazing life skill for one to have
same, im currently binging hells kitchen for the 2nd time
Never have to go out of your way to collect Grausten. All of Ashland's residents are very nice and harvest it for you.
Wait mb i misread
Ppl join pretty often even if they dont know you
so true i have the top of my ashvin pin covered in it so they askvins dont stack on top of each other and climb out
just stacks of it on teh edges enough to keep them in
if someone would like to vc let me know im down for the next abt hour hour and a hafl
im almost done wiht my brother so ye
So I have found 2 lovely patches of mistland with no mist, and I want perspective which one of the 2 people think would be better to base build.
-
a patch of mistlands with 4 roots and a Dvergr neighbour next door (lots of sap)
-
a patch of mistlands with just 1 root, but also next to an infested mine (can run in to collect royal jelly and farm some seeker meat every now and then).
They're both sizeable enough that I could reasonably build a base with a farm
I would go with option 1.
They are both on the same continent for reference, so I could run from one spot to the other if i needed access to the other thing.
1 really is the best
Because you farm and get sap at the same time
you can always run to the other spot for the infested mine and do some runs
Id deal with the dvergr tbh since they attract attention especially when its a gjall
Yeah 4 roots is probably enough sap to basically last me forever if I'm only going back to harvest once a day I think
4 roots is just like the minimum required to do a full cycle
So that is just a very high value spot
Funnily enough there was a gjall there before but we took care of it really quickly.
I see no reason not to let them live and help out, at least until they possibly die.
So far ive been likin the ashlands
My new fear are the morgen, and the fallen valkyrie
the morgen I havent fought myself but encountered it fighting charred enemies
Once you progress into later Ashlands you can kill morgen in a matter of seconds, my record with 3 people was like 4ish seconds. Valkyries are just hard nothing to do about that. And you will have another fear
Just wait
I was going to say-- seconds? but multiple people makes sense π
I just spray and prayed my arbalest and timed my krom special attack and killed the valkyrie
||Yeah we all had iolite infused weapons too so that helps||
I enjoy the up in difficulty in both the ashlands and mistlands
If luck favors with ||Iolite weapons||. π°
but some people dont which is understandable
Yeah, you get kinda complacent with watching terrain before the mistlands. And then once you hit Ashlands everything wants to kill you including the ||trees||β¦..
Not too far from that experience
The tree almost fell on top of my noggin but the grausten structure RIGHT next to me stopped it
I think its bc of the fire balls damaging the trees
Just wait until you get hit and they set you on fireβ¦.
causing them to fall
Have not experienced this one
I'll never forget my first Ashlands experience, it was actually making me incredibly nervous #screenshots message
I just made it to the Ashlands in another play through, I think I had about 5 bonemaws attack
0 attacks on me when I first went in
One disappeared and another spawns
Lucky
I may be the luckiest viking ever to set sail unharassed in the ashlands
Only thing I came across were voltures
The bonemaw I encountered alittle later after I secured and landed on the ashlands
I got lucky enough to land next to a devrgr (or however you spell that) campβ¦. They were dead within a few days
Dvergr
Yeah the mobs in ashlands hit hard and are quite fast so the Dvergr struggle to keep up
Have you collected a bonemaw trophy?
Nope that first one I killed didnt drop it
Or sank and I didnt notice
I got the meat and bones tho
I remember being saved by a 1 star Dvergr, and after he was finished his battle, walked into the lava as if his job was now done.
Youβll know when it drops it. Itβs massive. Think serpent trophy but like 4x the size
Ill see once I encounter another one
That trophy might be the biggest in the game
but for now my priority there are the asksvin and the caves which I have zero clue of whats inside
Ive mostly encountered structures after structures of grausten
1star asksvin on my first day
not too shabby
1 stars are fairly common
Asksvin hit like trucks
Part of it is that there are no dvergr mages in the ashlands, only rogues. And the 2 really work well as a pair. Without the mages the rogues aren't all that strong.
2 stars can be a real pain to find sometimes
I mean 2 star asksvins have the starred wolf treatment
Arent they like the wolf situation?
They spawn at night and despawn when the player is too far
They are, they only appear at night. Ashlands night is total pitch black though.
Yeah, but I've heard many stories along with my own of people unable to find any
My 2 star asksvin found me, not the other way round. That was a very terrifying moment initially.
Traversing Ashlands searching for them can be much harder than cruising a mountain
Life flashed before my characters eyes very briefly there lol
It was while I was fighting 2 valkyrie at once as well.
So a pretty risky situation all around.
can the vineberry clusters grow in the meadows?
They can grow everywhere except mountains but are currently bugged, the growth timer resets when you close and re open the game. So make sure to harvest everything before you close it.
wait so they'll go back to vines with no berries?
Yeah, it's odd behaviour atm.
The ash vine that already exists in the ashlands is NOT affected by this behaviour though.
You might be better off just placing a portal near one of those ruins that's growing them.
Doodly noted
Ideally place that same portal near a spot with lots of fiddleheads as well
For now om just marking them on my map
FH and SP
Do the sulfurs on those boulder arches like regrow or something?
I don't actually know - I've not needed much sulfur
so... any thoughts about 3-4 star enemies
They don't.
Sad
Too strong tbh
That good they're not vanilla option.
the 2 stars already pack a punch even with max gear
currently we got 3 star enemies and were in the plains
Modded?
and the bosses are all 2 stars
Yes.
ye
https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202934289898151966 would be more appropriate channel for modded discussions tbf.
its a dead channel and i wanna talk about purely stats which technically are still vanilla valheim
really?
Yes... even with max padded armour a 2*fuling can almost take me out solo, thats how much dmg they can deal
Well, server rules state to keep discussions in proper channels.
What's a dead channel? You certainly don't mean this one, right?
im talking about valheim, and purely a addition of a another star added to enenmies so still preety vanilla
not talkin about modded bosses or weapons
Well, 3 or 4 starred mobs are not vanilla so...
Still 3* enemies dont exist in vanilla so technically modded
But short answer is that they would be too powerful.
well i dont wanna wait in a dead channel for an hour or two to get a response when its already filled either with talk about mods, help with mods and other things
im here jsut talkin about general vanilla things
3 and 4 star enemies are basiclally hard/vh
your gonna tell me no one talked about hypotheticals here?
Even normal seekers deal a considerable amount of damage just because they have 3 damage types
@steel mica your the goat
you opened my eyes to the truth lmao
me and my buddies are simply dead, cya
Simply put 3+ enemies would be too strong
It'd be like a mini-mini boss but in normal enemy form
i thought they made the flamental pillars not sink anymore
3 different attacks, 2 of them deal pierce and 1 deals blunt.
No, it was changed from 10% to 1% chance.
I thought seeker deal all 3 types didnt know that
do they come back after they sink or am i just misremembering stuff
What about the seeker soldier?
They don't come back, they're like leviathans.
sadge
Purely blunt iirc.
No, 1 attack deals slash, the bite.
The seeker soldier can do a bite attack
-Bite attack
-Headbutt
-Claw ground pound
Yeah like I added, bite deals slash.
You can find more flametal spires tho, or find the ore from fortresses with some RNG. π°
Like how you negate 2 enemies main dmg whilst its being weak to another the Gjall
They didn't even ask in the mod channel...
Or even fish for magmafish.
Pierce is easily negated with Harnesk. Fire weakness is countered with barley wine.
Listening is so important in the mistland reducing the chance of getting fireball jumpscared by a Gjall
Right, so we get to the point again where Flametal is technically renevable resource, the best kind of correct.
By the time I drink my fire res im already on fire because of jumpscare π
bunch of things in ashlands π¦
Ashwood, grausten.
Yggdrasil
ah yea ancient bark
woof
I would say technically iron is finite if you don't want to go mad killing blobs..
Fishing herrings can grant iron tho.
Which is better to get iron from is it still the swamps or the mistlands?
yeah but.. like 2-3?
Swamp @steel mica
My entire iron supply got gobbled up by the fact I maxed out my plains padded armour and crafted the krom
Krom still a badass weapon
yea that's why you don't craft heavy armor and just go fenris set π
But I wanna complete my armoury π₯Ί
doing a completionist run?
So I can put everything in armour stands
Yes
Just craft quality 1 stuff.
have fun with the fishing hat
I got very lucky wtih this one tbh
Theres a tetra fish cave on my starter island

Only fish that I believe I need are
troll
herring
cod
grouper
tetrafish
tuna
is it just me that finds the plain biome the easiest?
its mostly split into a 50/50
With overpreparation yes
1 half is farming, the other golbin slaying
If your going in willy nilly your pretty much gonna die to the fulings
i mean ye obv but still
It also depends how fast you find the boss location.
biome is great, not like the swamp or mountains, mobs preety basic and simple
But it's the most straightforward biome.
ye
Huntsman bow is just flat out better all the way to the mistland until you get the arbalest or spinesnap bow
Has similar dmg with the draugr bow while having a smaller radius of attracting enemies
i need to make it tbf
and less stamina drain
its amazing for 1v1's
I also prefer Huntsman.
why not both
mistlands are gonna be a nightmare, its legit survival
Do the mobs in the ashlands have any weakness?
Frost, Lightning all that stuff
Blunt maybe because they're skeletons?
Overall spirit is a good option
Would frostner be good or not worth it due to low dmg
Frostner good
I would say mistwalker is pretty good π€
Mistwalker and Frostner does the same job, except Frostner is more defensive with the added knockback which is useful against multiple warriors charging at you at the same time.
mistwalker is faster than frostner. but both works fine
And Mistwalker having no MTP.
yea that's pretty relevant tbh
hit a lotta rocks or w/e that would hurt ur dmg output
But they share attack animation.
realising what the buckler actually does comapred to a shield changed my life
Tower shields can still be used if you struggling parrying until ashlands
opposite
Or if you mean faster = killing with less hits due to higher damage.
ive been holding back because im a big parry person, and after realising its the buckler i need to use if im gonna parry it made things easier
scales should know the truth. but afaik. the animation speed of maces vs swords are diffrent
very slightly yea Blobicycake knows the numbers behind em
Oh, I've seen no difference tbh.
Effectively they're the same but there is a small variation between the two
I know secondary attacks have more noticeable difference in windup.
ye, talkin main auto attack chain
^ mhm
Yeah figured, which I haven't personally noticed.
try it. should be a diffrence between axes, swords and maxes
Just mentioned I've noticed the difference with secondaries.
also the range are diffrent
I know 1h axes are slower.
Very simple, flat terrain, easy to build in - said earlier that to me meadows feels very much like a second meadows biome
Wise words
oh crap sorry
I know how you feel. Would you like an egg in this trying time?
Very inspiring words
i just got a new keyboard and i was just pushing the keys. I didn't know i had discord selected

thank you for coming to my seminar
This is where you just say "cat" and leave it at that. Nobody will second guess you.
tbh....... yes
In my case, Rabbit. THey have no respect for my property.
This is what I do whenever my sister comes over with one of our old stuffed animals and keysmashes me
Top 3 for me are (in no order) Fader, Queen and Yagluth.
yooo moder ost is a banger
the music in this game slaps in general
it feels so crazy that this came out 4 years ago
Wait wait wait, using the butcher knife on tamed animals increases your knives skill?
WHAT!? Oh no...
Feels bad I have to slash my Asksvins with the butchers knife 5 freaking times
Please just let me get it over with π¦
Can't make a stone portal because i didnt bring the iron for a stonecutter table
remember the shield generator i have is made of iron
problem solved instantly :D
I now shall continue the adventures of black's first time experience in the ashlands and has zero clue what he is doing
gl gamer
That is one massive bonemaw trophy
Oh my
I got an issue, the 1* asksvin im trying to tame is a nighttime spawned asksvin so its trying to flee
@shy marlin I got an issue here
The asksvin I got is not eating
4k hours i've tamed things once i'm not the guy for this lol
Oof
Yep
ARE YOU KIDDING ME
A 1*MORGEN IN THE PUTRID HOLE
OK I GOT ALL THE MOLTEN CORES LMAO
I found a 1* in a hole, wanna know what I got out of it?
no spoilers ples
Absolutely nothing, no treasure on the ground, no chests and no coresβ¦. Just bones and ||rotten meat||
-# The spoiler isnβt that significant
I was pissed
These stone portals are MASSIVE
Yeah, but absolutely worth it
I wonder if the Deep North will introduce a more usable Blood Magic summoning items? Dead Raiser falls off quickly in the Ashlands, and the Trollstav is entirely too chaotic for consistent usage. All should enjoy the glory of necromancy!
Trying to politely usher out my guest so I can get back to gaming π
why is my hen not laying egg i gave it barley its no longer hungry
How many hens are there?
1
damn
If your dead raiser is not useful, you arenβt skilled enough in itβs use
My skellies can 2 tap charred - not to mention that you should bubble them so they last longer
As a mage or even a spell sword, having something to draw aggro is amazing
I'm 100 in Blood Magic and have used it extensively. It's not about drawing aggro. When I'm doing pure magic, I need them to supplement my damage and not get 1-2 shot by a standard charred warrior. And yes, I use shields for them. They don't last long against the armies.
@rain flare I need some help
Sure whatβs up?
They arenβt supposed to last long - and you shouldnβt be trying to tackle entire armies on your own π
That is a sure fire way to get killed in the Ashlands
In those scenarios you should chuck a troll at the things fighting you and beat a hasty retreat
Just saying, only having weak skeletts and strong chaotic trolls leaves nothing in between.
Itβs very true - a middle road summon would be helpful
Iβm voting for an asksvin Skellie horse π€©
I'm kind of surprised that a sort of Draugr summoning item was never introduced. A bit more blood & eitr for something a little more sturdy.
O these flametal weapons are quite enticing to craft
Especially that 2-h Slayer greatsword
@steel mica Axes are the bestπ
Nope
Have you raided a fortress yet? π
Itβs important
Thereβs special goodies in there to enhance your flametal weapons significantly
Just donβt upgrade your flametal gear before you raid a fortress OK?
Using the enhancement items resetβs the gear level of your weapons - so only upgrade them once youβve raided a fort
so the area i took had a very small portion of the black forest near it. π im back to doing fairly long excursions for copper. but i find as im getting better with the building, putting up a lean to don't give me the issues it did at first.
I have not gone off too far from my locale mostly using my time to breed ||asksvin||
I just need 3 more of the ||morgen sinew||
As of rn the 1*||asksvins|| will do just fine
@hardy wave
Ah, abandoned mistlands digsite with seekers. I'll just kill them qui-
Game: Surprise 1 star seeker
Oh, guess I'll be a bit more caref-
Game: Surprise 2 star seeker
Really?! XD
LoL π
Have any of you tried to climb Yggdrasil recently?
I met a foe far worse than seekers up there
They were @valid pythonβs kin, the squeakers! π
Now I'm stuck getting TWO graves because the seeker that was left refused to get off my ass.
Ai ai ai π
This is unfortunately on top of the first infested mine only giving me 4 cores.
4 is quite a lot for one mine actually π
And yet...it's not 5.
Yep, you have to usualy visit multiple mines to get enough for a station π
is there ways to increase the carry capacity on my character?
Yep, if you explore second biome enough you will find a way for it π (you might want to explore a bit further from spawn π )
weird, idk why that wasn't the discord link
Even further from spawn π
oh yeah ill get there, im just currently trying to build all workstations, i assume once i make this mead station, i can enter the mountain for more progression.
Mountains are the 4th biome you should go to π
I assume you didnt kill Black Forest boss yet?
i only killed Eikthyr, but i do have some waypoints for a boss named The Elder.
Yep, thats the one π his drop will give you a hint where to go next
yeah, ill make my way down to him soon. im not in any rush to reach endgame, im just chillin
Guys, Anyone knows why doesnβt haldor sell ymir flesh even when I defeated all the bosses up to bonemass on a server with my friends?
Thats the best way to play imo π
before i zone back in, the block skill, does it only go up with parrys?
Nope, also with normal blocking, but parries give bit more xp per block (faster is static blocking actually if you have enough mobs and good shield)
cheers, ty.
gm all
What weapon is your favorite?
We talking biome specific or just general weapon types?
Cause uhmβ¦.
I canβt pick one weapon specifically with everything mixed together π
ripper and it's variants. or mistwalker
I can easily pick 2 favorites:
and Primal axes.
Meadows - flint knife
Black Forest - bronze spear
Swamp - ancient bark spear
Mountains - crystal battle axe
Plains - porcupine
Mistlands - krom/mistwalker (Iβm cheating, I canβt pick between these two π
)
Ashlands - completely hopeless cause I like lightning zerker axes and blood great sword
Ripper?
Crossbow from Ashlands
But let me be honest, I am a sucker for magic, so Iβd play as a mage anyway π
So my favourites would be staff of embers and wild stave
Arbalest, Himminafl (not been in Ashlands yet)
Doing a slow play? π
very slow, i usually kept myself 2 biomes back of the latest update (killed Moder on Mistlands update, Yag shortly after Ashlands came out), but i didn't resist this time and killed also the Queen, but didn't traverse boiling seas yet
did lots of building, different playthrus with different weapon/combat style focus etc., not a 8000 hours vet but, i'm about to hit 1500
Porcupine enjoyer π€
Always loved that wep and altho i admit frostner is better its so satisfying swinging that thing around
Krom probably my favourite wep in the game, so much that ill run to the mists with silver weps and make it before killing moder
Indeed π₯°
I love the aesthetic of those weapons
Hehe π
What I want is to make a legit IRL version is the Bloodstone greatsword
That sword is a BEAST π₯
That would be unwieldable xD
I'd like some Valheim miniatures.
Me too! One of the reasons I cant wait for the board game π
And he still cant lift it xD
Looks at Demolisher π
Oh for sure, that is a nice cinder block on a stick π let me swing it around xD
Either you need flametal or build up π
Don't give it to a body builder, their muscles are for show.
Rather give it to a strongman. πͺ
Just make an outpost in ashlands π€
Or, if you explored enough putrid holes easier way to transport stuff will unlock
Might be worth a try to find another core, you need only 2 π
Yep π
Yeah, you only need a stone portal on one end.
Maybe Anatoli can, he is constantly mopping with his 30kg mop.
Heh, true, at some point he will start using Demolisher wrapped in a rag to mop XD
this last 20 percetn of fader's health is hard to get down ugh just died
i'm tired, boss
He do be hitting hard
yeah and the non-summoned ads i keep agroing are so annoying
i need a drink. but it's 7am
odin give me strength
Just let Fader finish 'em. The fissure fire cleanses all.
yeah usually, sometimes they eff me up though because i'm not paying attention. honestly it's a skill issue
It quickly kills even Morgen and Valkyries too.
Used that to my advantage during my bow only challenge when they joined to the fight lol.
Even some Asksvins too.
this boss fight feels more tedious than fun to me tbh
bah i'm just in a bad mood i think lol
Understandable. Personally I like the fight.
i'm trying to power through so i can start a new game. I just love the early game in the meadows
New playthroughs are fun, especially when you decide to try something different.
its okay, its 10pm here!
always mead'o'clock somewhere!
Midsummer Eve going on here. π
I have now located my first ||fortress||

Soon.

Yes i killed fader for the first time!
Some of Faderβs attacks get a shorter cooldown as his health decreases
Wooooo!
Well done! π€©
Quite the annoying morgen I should say
feels good to be done ashlands lol

staff of the wild was clutch against him
Told ya π€©π₯³
i couldn't remember who gave me that tip hah, thanks!
These asksvin do not wanna cooperate with me
it's hilarious going from fighting the last boss to immediately starting a new game and dying to a boar
they can be very annoying
There's always the side quest, unless you've done it already.
there's a side quest?
Yep! The ashlands has a side quest!
To get it started, seek out more Putrid holes and look for Vegvisirs.
I saw those massive indestructible trees from the swamp in the middle of the ocean
just 1
would it work as an outpost I wonder?
good to know
what bronze weapon should i get i cant choose
They are called ash swine for a reason π
Spear is good
Atgir is good
Axe is also good
Iβd suggest using the axe purely to prevent having to waste copper and tin on making a weapon and a tool
I like the spear purely cause they work well
Atgirβs are also good
yeah ive been using the normal spear for ages
i was thinking either mace or sword
Swords are a decent all rounder
Axes are also a decent all rounder, double as a tool though
Copper knife is ok, has good attack speed and stamina usage
Spears are kinda meh but some people like them
Atgir is crazy good
Mace is nice in the biome after black forest
Sildar
Spears are epic cause you can skewer enemies as they attack you
Itβs a high skill high reward weapon if you learn to use it properly
You can post pics in https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202320491377856512 to specify the problem.
Ill send
@languid ice Alright again ty for the eggs im gonna start breeding them now
@languid ice You dropped your asksvin chestplate
ah ok
BRUH my asksvins
i dont want eggs they give me tons i want eggs they give me none
i have 8 eggs rn T_T
morning yall
Wait for them to hatch, get babies, let babies grow, kill babies for tail
do ground items like flint, stone and branches also respawn after time?
i know flint does
not sure about the others
awesome, i guess thats the only one that i care about, but i figured id loop them in
Flint yes, stone no, branch yes π
cheers. ty.
i dont understand this raft
guess im swimming home
You need to go with the wind
- the raft is quite bad even if its a full tailwind
A and D for left and right and press W few times for speed, S for lowering the speed and look out for wind direction π
yeah i get that part. but how do i control my sail? it has the ropes to turn/raise lower it. but all i can do is hold it and turn the rudder
The sail turns automatically
It raises and lowers when you change your speed with the rudder, thatβs the only part you need to interact with
im so cooked. i was looking for obscure hitboxes on this pile of logs....
i guess we just wait for a good headwind now
i need some wind power...Rip Gif
i cant find Bogwitch. i need help ...
She can spawn anywhere in swamp between 3000 and 8000 meters from the world center. π
First of all how in the he-
Always have backup gear and supplies
Get ready before going back
Are you like rushing in?
All crafting stations need a roof
Ah you're dealing with a valkyrie
After landing in the ashlands, your priority is securing that portal ASAP
Silver sword will do more damage than mistwalker against charred while also costing less stamina, perfect for taking them out quickly
Why not make a portal in the coast?
Not much really just use the best material stone or black marble
whats the easiest attack from the berserker is to parry
all of them
Both attacks have the same damage
doesnt he have 3 attacks tho?
Mistwalker is good for every other enemies in ashlands
left, right swing and a 3 combo swing
The horizontal hit has two animations but is technically the same attack so it has the same hitbox, knockback and all other stats
I basically just used mistwalker in Ashlands. + parrying everything
Parrying everything wonβt always go well against starred enemies, especially if not using a HHS diet or with low block skill
hhs?
Health health stamina
Two health food, one stamina food
true
health food stamina food
never ran into a starred morgen thankfully
...Yet.
Morgen's actually made me lol the first time i saw them
Theyβre not too bad, just be very careful not to get stuck on their legs
I hate morgenβs collision so much why isnβt it smooth like every other creature
Seeker soldiers have it too
they're so easy to parry though
With stars you might only be able to parry the rolls
oof that does make it tougher
1 star can be parried with buckler.
Their swipes are easy to jump over and have 0% turnspeed so it leaves their sides open for an attack
with a 2quality level seeker buckler you can only parry the rolls against a ||1*morgen||
i'm kinda new to discord, how do you do the spoiler thing?
Your health and block skill matters too not just the buckler
|| on both sides.
Mark the text and click the eye π or what Joelkkii said
why not?
The ai pathing having trouble
Digging a hole and covering it with grausten floor pieces has worked for me many times.
ill try this one aswell just incase
There's no 5th upgrade. The game is unfinished.
does 3x recources not work for ores?
oh
Whichever you find the coolest π
Yep the ||asksvins|| are now breeding
4 eggs
I really like the look of the|berserker axes|
Bow or crossbow π
if you have a problem in valheim, the solution is bow
You need to double the lines π
100%, they're fast, strong, can defend, and are good escapes
Crossbow + spear.
Oops
its fine theres plenty of fish in the sea gang
No, the other kind of hoe
Luckily cheap to craft, just wood and stone.
i see...well plenty of wood and stone in the meadows gang
I need to know how y'all get around making those amazing builds. I know the cheats yes but like... How do people even PLAN THEM. I always mess up the foundations, or the roof. I ain't a viking of math (ironically, since I'm a woman lmao)
Being a woman just means you have more common sense
The joke was because math was usually done by women hahaha
I can barely do add ups mentally and I gotta use my fingers lmao
Trial and error. Have fun with it. Don't rush and learn something from every build. Experiment with stuff and if you don't like how it looks take it down and try something else
YouTube tutorials and #1202313621351440385 will be your best friends
I end up taking down almost everything lmao. I say to myself THIS ONE. THIS ONE GONNA BE A BIG BUILD. And somehow it always ends up as a tiny house
Haha that will happen. You could also plan stuff out using grid paper. Just set a scale like each block on graph paper is 1 meter in game
i steal them from the internet
or from draugers (my first base in this world was a draugr village i took over and cleaned up)
I do too sometimes lmao I have a whole Pinterest board named "build it" for this. And somehow, never end up making it through.
I just build cube ass houses with a generic roof and chimney
I might lean to the gods of Google sheets.
I feel ya. The more I try to not make a cube, the more cubic it gets lmfao
gods perfect shape
I personally use https://virtual-graph-paper.com/. But google sheets could work as well
When I play on creative I literally run around fixing villages hahahaha
Yo this is awesome. Thanks!
4x2 grid stone walls my beloved
No problem I like to set the fill colour to match the material I want to use in game. Like for wood I'll do brown, stone will be grey etc...
If I ever make something that doesn't look like a cramped up cottage, I will share on the appropriate channels lmao
Somehow, I made better houses while playing casual and gathering tons of materials than in creative
i hate building but i forced myself to build a castle carrot and stick type
with the carrot being that i only have to do this once and it'll get me through all remaining biomes
I love building! At least small bases in every island I get to!
It was, however, very tiring while playing normally, getting all the mats to different places and dying so much (since I'm really bad at fighting)
ho boy the amount of stone i had to gather for the plains castle
cause i wasnt saving up since day 1
Ah, a classic. Throwing stone around cuz it's just taking up space
does dualweilding weapons like a sword and shield stack block armor?
probably not
I usually play most games alone. If anyone ever needs someone to run around and do nothing while y'all beat the mobs or bosses, I'm the right person for the task.
I will die tho.
tiny house with everything in it is what I live for
currently being a gremlin living on a troll cave entrance during iron age
I wish we could be able to "claim" certain dungeons so that we can properly build in it later on
i need a slave to smelt the ore, ill pay you with coins.
There is no minimum wage in Valheim tho
Well, you can enable building in dungeons if you want to π
that's true, but I don't want to deviate too much from what the game intended
I do have fire hazards on tho lmao
I wish you could train the skeletons to do that lmao
they tell me they love me that's all i need them to do
You have no ideaβ¦β¦
How is that a thing, I NEED TO KNOW
setkey DungeonBuild π
Gonna get into that tonight.
Kill, kill and kill π and destroy piles of dirt
Note to self, dont take asksvin while your mining
Donβt take anything while mining, itβs all over lava any sort of knockback means you are dead
If you have to go onto normal land a ways from the lava
Both ooze and bile bombs are ineffective due to their immunity to poison and very resistance to fire.
Use other AoE options, like Demolisher or Ember staff.
You can return later when you've prepared yourself.
Learned that the hard way and my 2 asksvins got killed
But I got backup so were fine
Enclosure
You can squeeze it through or make the entrance bigger.
Hello valheim chat, I wanted to ask a big chat room for advice. So as a magic user in valheim... Are we not expected to use magic all the time sense royal jelly is so limited? What happens when you run out of mistlands dungeons for the jelly? Do you just not have magic anymore in that server?
Royal jelly respawns in the mines π
Omg ty, So its benefitcial to maybe build a fort nearby some old dugeons to recheck them for jelly?!
Sure π or to have portals to few of them
It respawns at regular intervals. A portal will do.
Ty chat
4 hours of IRL time
You get alot but fighting her is difficult not worth the hassle
I rather set up multiple portals
Yes, but fighting a boss as a means of farming food isn't exactly what everybody wants.
Eh true
Agreed. Some sort of log somewhere would be nice
Have you made any flametal weapons yet?
You probably have gotten few new recipes now, for 2 variations of spears and crossbow.
If you craft gem variated weapon the quality won't transfer to it.
Both are very useful, Jade for possible immobility effect to enemies and Iolite to deal lightning damage that possibly chains to other enemies around.
Sometimes the lightning can chain multiple times on larger enemies.
Bloodstone for the win.
I would personally use jade rather for bow than crossbow, tbh. The shooting rate is much slower with crossbows.
But it's all up to you.
Best ones IMO are jade mace and axes tho.

Brick on a stick

The best brick one can ask.

The only possible description of that weapon I can ever accept π π
Well, "kloss" is basically "brick" in Swedish.
Apparently Asatru too, hence his name.
Bats are arguably more annoying
Nah, they can be annoying but its not like i hate them in particular π the name is pretty much just a bunch of circumstances playing into one another
Yeah I know the story, I was in a bit jestful mood.
Asatru hates drakes
How about "puncher of Drake".

The 'rapper'?
verily
Verily i say unto you

He is still the kid in the wheelchair from degrassi to me.
Wait, thats a different Drake.
If you have 18.5 hp (actually) does the hp bar you see round it up to 19? π€ (Reason why I ask is I'm going back and losing at all my deaths to no food perma runs, and there was a run where I had 20 hp visually, but got hit by something doing 19.1 dmg, and I died)
boo
Could we see in the clips channel?
Iβd assume the game brings the number up if itβs a decimal so it never shows 0 health, Iβll check that now
It's too big, the time between getting hit going down to 20 hp and then getting hit by 19.1 dmg is like 20 min lol
I've liked scanned footage after footage and the numbers don't add up
Maybe there's a rounding error calculation? idk
@shy marlin The health bar uses a ceil function which brings a decimal to the integer above it. Anything a tiny bit above 19 will show as 20.
You could've had 19.05 health or something around that
Okay
That might make sense, I'll review and rewatch and see if that could be the case
Thanks
π€
Has anybody ever had some of their items just disappear?
On ground or in gravestone?
Starting to feel like taking the fortress isn't actually a mechanic. Holy smokes.
Even the mage is tanky.
It feels kinda daunting the first time you do it but once you know what to do it's really not that hard, and Bonemass + fire resist together just are an "I win" button for the next 5 minutes
more like a "i only need 1 more to make what i want" but now that i got it its gone. its nothing crazy just Trophy heads. but i was keeping track cause i really wanted that shield lol
depending on when you log out, or if you dc, some items can disappear. I am careful to save when exiting.
ahh, okay, least that means its only a 50/50 chance im trippin π
Hands down one of the most difficult things I've ever managed to do, but came back with a Ripper, did my best to focus the warlocks, and managed to also set up shop in it. So now I have a nice place a bit further inland. \
And yet it only barely leaned into frustrating. These devs are super good at making things that- if they were a little more hard would be not fun, but the wiggle room is just enough that if you consider all your tools, it feels fair.
IMO its extremely difficult to make a game as challenging as Valheim can be at times also feel fair. Most games can't, at least imo.
I've never once felt that Valheim was unfair
I have however felt that at times it is needlessly tedious
Where outside of iron grind is it tedious?
IMO that speaks to very good design.
Fighting charred twitcher number 16 million in the Ashlands.
It's fun at first but slowly becomes more and more annoying as time goes on
Also getting the bat raid in ashlands is funny as heck, seeing all the ashlands creatures flailing around to hit things about 1/100'th as strong as them XD and strugling.
Lol, I've not that. Don't tend to build full bases in Ashlands.
Yes, I'm aware it was worse pre nerf
I don't build full bases in the Ashlands either.
It's still annoying
Nothing wrong with an opinion.
Put it this way, I'm not averse to challenging combat.
Ashlands isn't really that, for the most part. It's just non-stop combat
I'd prefer to have totally mental engagements but more spaced apart
You've almost certainly heard it before but for better or worse that is kinda the point.
Now, we could argue for hours if that was a good design choice.
But they achieved what they set out to do.
I get that it's the point, and you're at least conceding kinda within what you're saying there (unlike many) that it being the point doesn't mean it's necessarily good
So it's just a taste thing - I get it. I'm so mixed on it because I love and hate the biome at the same time lol
I know Scales will agree that there are better ways of making something hard than just having more of it.
It has the same effect the swamp has on me, where half the time I'm playing it's like "yeah this is great", and the other half it's "urgh, really, STILL!?"
swamp tends to have a lot of stuff the first time you go there then its dead silent once cleared at least in my experience. ashlands will respawn everything the next day
Sorta? Ashlands slowly gets more and more quiet as time goes on, you destroy spawners and the locations of where enemies spawn normally kinda becomes familiar
But when you need to explore to find new stuff at the start, it is for sure like that
It's still always more crowded than other biomes
tbh once i get to ashlands i just get the playthrough over with, not a biome i enjoy spending much time in at all. first 6 rock though
π€
I only go to the Ashlands after finishing a playthrough to gather Grausten/Ashwood for base building
land -> morgen cave -> 2 fortresses -> craft -> fader -> done
Because who wants to build with Pleb wood?
Taking the crafts to other places is always fun though. Going back to the Plains and finding some poor unsuspecting Fuling Village and watch the chain lightning just decimate them lol
yes
Cause thats what happened just now, I found a fuling village to kill while looking for Black cores for my new Mistlands base
Which I'm only building for fun at this point
Just 2? Can you get a bell in just 2?
I needed 4 to make mine
I'm not good enough to just 'wam/bam thank ya mam' the biome. XD I need its food, I need its weapons I need to be there long term.
Which gem upgrades should I use for which weapons?
Should I upgrade my gear to flametal or bumrush the fortresses?
If bumrush how do I make the siege machines?
I would suggest that making Flametal gear (don't upgrade it though!) would be a good thing to do first if you want to be safer
It should be noted: Fully upgraded Mistlands tank armor is the same def as level 1 flametal.
For me the Ripper was the tide-changer, but I already had decent crossbow skill to load it faster.
Me: Pfft, haven't had a raid in awhile.
Game: Sends raid.
Me: just finished my little domicile.
Game: Sends raid.
Wdym by dont upgrade?
Why not max them out for more dmg and defense
There is a reason
If you're making Armor max that out, but don't max out weapons
Ill take your words
I don't think it's spoilery to explain why.
In that case, without divulging too much information: Weapons made with Flametal are materials for new weapons, but the upgrade level isn't preserved if you use them that way, so you're throwing resources away
So basically if I max out my slayer greatsword its going downgrade back to quality1 but comes with the "upgrade"
Yes, basically every Ashlands tier weapon has 3 variants it can upgrade into
But if you use quality 3 of the vanilla variant as the material you will get quality 1 of an upgraded variant
So Quality 2 and 3 upgrades for that Slayer will be "wasted". If you're extremely worried that you can't do it without being the strongest possible then go for it but I would advise against
I could always get more flametal if I ever need the upgrade
@agile furnace
I prefer making the ripper bloodied
Slow fire rate but high base damage makes it a good lynchpin for those situations where hp is low and you need a big burst of ranged damage
Shame, didn't get the right gemstone
tbh bloodstone is also used for the Trollstav which would take the first priority I think
As well as a Black Forge upgrade
i found an area id like to use to tame some Boars, now that ive unlocked the crafting stations for the next tier of food. Is there a size limit to the pens to avoid them despawning?
They won't despawn once tamed but there is a limit on breeding which is, IIRC 6 in 10m.
cheers
You can actually pass this limt as long as you have 5 boars
The game doesnt account the new born piggies as part of the limit due to them being a separate entity type
If you have 6 boars they'll stop reproducing
I just got back into valhiem today after years of not playing is there anyone up to starting a new playthrough I would like to see the new mistland and ashlands biomes
Well, yes, as I said. Again, overcomplicating a simple answer.
What is a good early game weapon
@ebon wadi like bronze age?
Storm ripper is the best in the game, one surprise hit on the valkyrie and shes 1/2 life
Maaaaaan, I finally ran around the island I wanted to move my base to cus it looked pretty and it doesn't actually have proper shore
It's a big lake...
One thing I hate about the ||morgen|| is that it attracts unwanted attention
Its the the trolls in the blackforest but worst
i think they're easier than trolls because you can parry them
iirc you can't parry trolls when you're at black-forest gear level
You cant parry trolls with low meadows gear but you roll and can stop the greydwarfs from attacking you by placing down campfires effectively stopping the harrasment
whilst a ||fallen valkyrie, morgen, or asksvin|| their enviromental dmg can attract enemies on which you cant do much to stop
Those 3 enemies also deal friendly fire damage to each other, so use that for your advantage.
They do but most of the time the enemies are closing in on me
raided my first ||fortress|| and now I might turn it as my main ashland base
Because it seems like the ||fortress|| is indestructible
You will be quite safe from mobs that cannot fly.
Until you build a roof then you will be quite safe from flying mobs too.
Awesome!
Find any good loot? π
3 stacks of flametal, some charred cogs, and a green looking something in the glass
and a vegvisir to the boss location
Nice!
Found gems?
nope
Bummer, that happens sometimes.
just those that I mentioned and a vegvisir
The ||charred warlock|| didnt put up much of a fight
There were not that maby enemies aswell
just a couple of ||marksmans|| and ||twitchers||
Almost got a heartattack. I was looking at my phone while sailing and crashed into the big floaty thing
Earliest game? Torches! Probably a mace afterwards, and after you clear the swamps best to focus bows and swords. Just my 2c
Loads of people looking for fresh playthroughs in #1024264966712340510 but I'll tell you now - Mistlands and Ashlands are extremely difficult in different ways, so you'd do well to take your time to get there!
I nearly have all the fragments to summon the queen π« what would a minimum level for my swords/elemental magic skills be before I go in for the throwdown?
If you go for the cheese strat it doesn't matter if it's too high or not
does anyone know if the deep north will release this year?
No one knows for sure, but most people here suspect not this year.
Ick nuu chez pls. I'll probably go for it with lvl 40 or so..if it's a disaster I can dip and do over
after re-checking I actually got one
||1 jade||
I really enjoy the unique feeling of the ashlands
Once you establish a base in the ashlands you're good to go
hello

Yaaaaaaay!
Dude, that is the best one in my opinion
Sildar
I got something from this thing called mysterious location
Its called a ||Drynwyn tip fragment||
Nice! π€©
There are 3 of those
Once you find all 3 you can craft a unique sword
Itβs not any sort of exceptional weapon, but it is a nice toy
so I need to find two more of these dangerous mysterious locations
Yup π
Fair warning, there is a mini boss at one of those who can one shot you
Even if you use Bonemass that is only going to buy you 1 extra hit
wait a mini boss?
Yeah, make sure your roll game is near perfect in there π
theres a new hildir chest?
or just staff of protection
π€
similar to hildir quests, but you get the sword fragment instead of chests
He looks like this but blue
Righty roo
He behaves exactly the same as a charred warrior so you should already know how to deal with him
Cant you parry this mini boss?
No one tell him
Eeeeh...
Bonemass makes that miniboss much less of a handful when blocking or parrying. That "one extra hit" goes a long way.
Technically, you can i think... But that would require to eat only hp diet iirc which is a really bad idea
+bonemass power + high block skill etc
Bonemass doesnβt affect what you can block
That moment I broke the iron gates the asksvins started pouring out like zombies LMAO
Yeah, true, but at least you dont get staggered that easily yourself π
and making a break for it to escpae
With the best possible stuff you still need to get lucky with damage variance so parrying just isnβt worth it
I found that it did when the enemy would kill me anyway despite my shield.
It will reduce the damage taken through the blocking but wonβt make a block that should fail become successful
Its weird tho, I just remember that bonemass made the fight super easy.
Damage modifiers are applied after all blocking calculations
(Except serpent scale shield)
I swear these asksvins think they can fit through this small door
THEY'RE BLOCKING ME FROM GETTING INLMAO
Add a second door.
π π€
But yeah, its funny because you have a limit on boars and wolves and chicken you can raise. Askvins are like "we must fill everything"
finally all recontained
Check #1024264966712340510
In fact, I wonder what is the default ai for tamed askvins. Like... they keep pooling around fences and walls, implying they are trying to go somewhere.
I think its like chicken AI bc from what ive notice both chickens and asksvin really love corners and walls
#1024264966712340510 π
Quick question. I am trying out ||dev commands|| but I have a weaker computer. Is there any ||commands|| I should avoid to prevent lag and/or crashes?
Just dont use spawn <thing> 500+ π
Also, is there any trick to mining ||flamemetal without it sinking||?
Does logging off and on work like it does for the ||leviathans||
It should
morning yall
Anyone else thing the post recent post on steam was hinting at something coming this summer
I hope
those stone that are shaped like a cone, the ones i dig up for treasure, do you guys leave the hole? or do yall come back and fill them?
I like to fill em
"Thereβll be no warm summer weather in the Deep North though!" pretty on the nose I think π
yeah, i reckon ill do that also, at least for the ones that are local to my area. is it costly on stone? i dont want to make holes to fill holes
not really no, I forget the exact amount but its not a lot.
so just basic terraforming should get me plenty?
Id say so
cool, cause i know one day im gonna trap myself in one running from something
yeah, I always patch them I can not stand seeing them thats my main issue lol
I need the ground to look pretty
Or trap something chasing you... Also cone is an interesting word for "boat". π
its the equivalent of a creeper hole for me. and ive been holding off on doing them cause of it.
hey people its been while any idea why sausage recipe didnt pop out on cauldron ?>
exactly lol.
i think they would call it a Ship π but idek that i just call it waht it looked like to me
may have been moved from the cauldron? I could be wrong though I don't make them often
do you have all the upgrades for it?
Its your Cat?
No mine is orange that one is a silly one I simply found online
what level do i need to get sausage ? and yes even before i move it the sausage didnt show
lemme check
2
ahhh alright thanks
Not really, if it was hinting about something in a specific time range there would be some actual hint there π
anyway what new early food i can get for swamp
Yes but they are not there yet π
I LOVE cats π but i dont have one π€£π€£
We need cats in the Game
lots of talk of "No warm summers" but we shall see regardless I am happy they are taking time on this I am sure its gonna be great.
Pretty much nothing, untill you get spice rack you can get only food from black forest basically
they are silly, My orange boy is great.
well thank you
Only thing tahts about summer is mentioning the seasonal items. After that just "Thereβll be no warm summer weather in the Deep North though!" which, if it would mean anything which it almost certainly doesent, would mean nothing will happen during summer months π
Is there any reason to keep my cooked boar meat? idk it was used to make Jerky, so i cooked a load of it way back
You can feed it to some animals later π
like I said, One can hope and see.
And it can be used in certain food once you find one of the 3 traders π
okay, cool, ill just toss it in the storage room i guess.
my resources are starting to accumulate, trying to find the best storage solutions. normally i just build a bunch of micro buildings, and sort them like that. and i dont want to get rid of anything. my first gear and tools are still at spawn just in case. and i got my old set here, also just in case. but a lot of items i still got no idea what im doing with them.
Hello everyone
Huh? No.
I mean it would make some sense at least from my view point.
How would it make sense? For one, the next update is the combat update which is a ways off yet.
I am aware the next one will be the combat update, but deep north could be close then we know. Summer time is a great time for updates/new games, lots of sales lots of people with more free time, not to mention deep north was talked about dec 2024 if we saw it this summer or in dec those at least to me would make sense.
then again though, I am not a dev nor do I know about what they are doing on a deeper level so π€·
I don't see where sense comes into that. I wouldn't expect Deep North this year.
I intend to. I'm not the one making weird claims.
"weird claims" I am expressing hope around the update, based off what I can see?
like I said if it does not happen, just keep waiting. I am allowed to have some hopes though this year would be hard I can imagine but maybe and what if are always something in the air.
Ashlands took 18 months
why are people so quick to shut down someone expressing any kind of hope for an update? its so odd to me.
You were suggesting summer a minute ago
I'm not shutting down anything, i just stated how long ashlands took
I asked peoples thoughts, expressed what I thought could happen not saying it will.
I am not suggesting the devs get it out for the summer I was stating that summer is normally a good time for most games to update, when the devs get something out is up to them and the schedule they have.
I agree, summer is a good time for content
Summer, when the devs are all on annual leave, is a terrible time for an update.
There's more than just one month in summer π‘
then why do a lot of games update, go on sale, show off new content π€·
summer is a wonderful time for gaming especially on steam!
A lot of games aren't made by Iron Gate.
if the devs working on this game go on leave then yeah that would be hard to do, but you sounded like you were making a more generalized statement about gaming/devs as a whole.
I would assume after Summer at earliest for the combat update.
One can hope
Why? We're talking about Valheim.
I am not one to assume what others mean, If people are direct and express what they mean that is a more solid answer.
most game devs go on leave for summer. Not just the ones making this game.
The irongate team is also has a small dev team so updates will be slow especially when its big updates like the ashlands or mistlands, and even if they did have a whole entire team working on valheim they want this game to be the vision that they see and produce a quality content for the community
that is also true, its what 10 - 15 people?
14 I believe.
thats a good idea lol.
updates will be slow, I am glad they are taking time to do them right making sure its polished before its out. I was just expressing a little hope that MAAYYYYYYBE we see something this summer.
Valheim as it is rn has so much for you to do already, its just a bit grindy and really time consuming but the experience will never be forgotten
Oh no doubt I have beat the game a few times over before ashlands, its amazing in the state it is I agree.
I didn't make it up.
"Currently the company consists of sixteen people" is on the official site.

a Canadian not a fan of tim horton, I have seen it all now /j
Well I dont really drink coffee, and while I used to enjoy donuts, I now find them too sugary for my palate. And besides, the one thats on my commute doesnt have blueberry donuts anymore, and those were the best.
Also having actually worked in one for a few months, it really messed me up.
they got rid of SO much good stuff, I hate it. No more melts and just those horrible pizzas.
also I worked there for a time as well, good to know it sucks all across canada
yeah they are trying to offer stuff they arent really suited to make
Well in my case, its mostly because the two co owners were abborrent subhumans. I never seen people like those. Absolute gorgons. They also didnt know how to read or write. Its maddening! How did people so incompetent managed to buy two tim hortons is beyond me.
Funny story, these two owners were so notorious in the circle that when they bought the second tim horton, it was a disaster for them: the entire team resigned on the spot, so they had a whole restaurant and literally zero staff to operate it.
anyway, point is
berserkir axes are neat
yeah I have tried my hardest to make those pizzas good but I simply can't. They just suck.
That sounds horrible, "abborrent subhumans" is not what you want when working with anyone lol. Its always owners or management at least from what I can tell.
also yes they are
