What bow r u using
Draugr fang
Well i did say before I've got 1 more with me so this is good to know
He's got same bow but not maxed yet
But if i can get in with my max silver sword the thing should perish
Omg she landed in a fightable spot for first time in 10 minutes
R u talking and fighting?
No I pause here and there
And hwen shes in the air or unreachable I just kinda chill
Shes at more than half health, my mace at less than half durability. Bow slightly more than half
When she's in the air roll around and shoot her with ur bow, keep stam meads on hand
Widle down her health or you'll never beat her
I make a terrain pillar to use as a shield from her flying projectile attack
you should be able to kill her with 145 obsidian arrows, that is only counting their own dmg, not adding the bow dmg
Lmao damn
Im trying bro
Ive shot like 150 arrows so far, shes at half health but thats mostly from my melee since I cant fucking hit her while shes flying.
Stam meads r gonna be ur best friend, eat health foods and drink stam meads, you'll be able to roll around and shoot her, if u got a scale shield I really have no doubt u should be able to take 2 or 3 hits blocking with it if u need to
A max one anyway
Right now shes standing on her spawn. i cant jump up cus her hitbox and its just elevated enough that the shitty vertical combat means I cant hit her
Im so pissed. Spend 90% of the time unable to damage her except with bow
Yea moder is probably my least favorite boss
^^
I mean as this guy said, and I ain't fought her yet but I'll believe it
And if u ever fought a group of drakes with a golem chasing u you should be used to rolling and dodging arial attacks
Thats where this comes in
And u gotta really pick n chose when to melee depending where she lands
i jsut got triepl shotted by her air attack
Got stuckm, 3 hits came in, Im dead. Fuck this bro
Yeah I know. She shoots many shots. If you take 3 youre dead no matter what armor
You're probly not rested anymore either
Get urself a scale sheild and 2 stacks of stam meads and 3 stacks of obsidian arrows before u fight her next
I had bow in hand. Couldnt block, couldnt move, just completely fucke
I hear ya, bro it took me 3 hours to beat bonemass on 1st try
It doesn't hurt to fall back and try again when ur more prepared
This is my second run. I found bonemass easy. I think last time the queen fight took me literally an hour, even though I was alive most of the time. Queen just had so much healht and magic does damage so slowl
Moder's at 1/3 health Im finishing htis
I'm on 1st ever world doing this, waiting for brother to get off work tnt and we will kill moder
Yeah this game is so much easier with friends
Bonemass was annoying cuz of the extra mobs
Ashlands for me my last save I just cheated. I dont think its possible for a non super talented player to survive the landing alone.
It certainly is π even i survived the first landing (at least long enough to put down portal xD) and i really am at most average player
I dont even remember the last boss's name or the fight with it. The queen's fight was just so horrible and memorable though. Like I said 1 hour long, just running around, shooting, trying not to die. Even if I died more in the ashlands fight I cant imagine it was as painful
The queen is my least favourite boss
Idk about average player. I died first like 3 times without getting any portal down. Maybe it was bad luckj with the spanw, and obviously Im far below average.
say what queen is awesome
Sheβd be ok if she teleported less frequently
The queen teleports?!?
Yes she digs into the ground and emerges somewhere else
Oh shit thats right
Theres that one area in the queen fight area that I always ran around. I dont even know if anybody beats the queen without using that spot. But it was sooo sooo dull
Not everyone likes tower shields π
Black metal sword
Its just good to have on hand for bad scenarios, and okok is it a lot better ?
Its like Moder's pathfinding refuses to let her go onto traversable terrain
My bow is broken. Lets just hope she lands in a traversable spot soon
You can head back and quickly repair it if you have a portal nearby
in before "i'm on no boss portals"
Got her finally
Lol im on all portal items. Ive played normally before. Fucking painful
I forgot that even exists
Jesus christ that was painful
Tbh i have not seen many people using that setting π€ usually its either normal portals, portal everything or no portals.
yea
Cant wait to go to plains and die to mosquitos
(Jk, im probably better at the game now, we'll see)
-# Pssst, root harnesk π
I forgot that existed. I actually used that during the swamp so I could avoid dmaage from archers
I finally tamed a couple of wolfses, just because you're supposed to do that, and now I'm struggling to figure out what to do with a bunch of confused floofs scrambling around my base without purpose. What do people actually use them for?
Base protection actually xD
Meat? I dont think taming is super great
Same with boars. I never tamed them. Didnt see any point
I get stacks of wolf meat every time I venture into the mountains, it comes to me on legs..
Yeah thats why I dont get them
I guess maybe with lox its more sensible, cus they are tougher, more dangerous, rarer, and their meat is used in many high tier foods
For base protection I have actually observed a pattern - any nightspawned fulings running around the base will get drawn to the wolf pen and shamble around there trying to figure out how to get to the wolves. That's something I guess...
But the wolves' inability to defend themselves from a bunch of freaking bats disqualifies them from any higher purpose
Lol
Yeah they have so little health. Seems like using them for base defense would be more of a hassle than anything.
good nightt
I guess you need a crapton of them to make the damage output matter
you looked at the same list as me? what about bone bolts, dead raiser or spinesnap?
There's the odd thing that crops up needing bones, but yeah between Black Forest and Mistlands they aren't very useful...
lf a group/server to start a new play thru just beat ash boss recently and wou ld like to start over on a mostly vanilqa playthru
Head over to the #1024264966712340510 channel then π
Hahaha gotta love frostner uppercut after parry, fuling went flying
Or bonking something like a Greyling with the Demolisher
Yag is toast
I'm so jealous of people that are creative with base designing
Samesies
Big true. I always make practical builds with all stations in 1 room surrounded by storage of all materials.
I would love to build a blacksmith but it feels inefficient.
Just keep practicing β€οΈ. Most of my early builds in other games were so terrible, over time I started experimenting with new ideas and looks. Now I have my own style of builds that feels right for me. It takes time, but most importantly practice
I think it's always what you want it to be. You can make something only pretty, or only practical. The beauty is when you make it both
I be spending 7 hours to get simple ideas, but when I watch these YouTubers they already figure out the base layout in 5 minutes..
And it turns to be 100 time beeter than mine
Don't be deceived with youtube videos. Sometimes they'll spend a whole day thinking about it before building.
and most of them have 1000's of hours just building π
It still crazy to me how creative they are π©
I've spent like 60 hours designing my base but it doesn't looks anywhere good tbh
there are alot of good tutorials
Tons of good ones
Just takes practice!

So i fully mined out the bottom of one of the plains pillars and then it just didnt collapse
And idk how to make it
I just started playing.. I am at the mountains now. I was just wondering about the world.. so far all the bio's have been close around my map. Is there any point traveling across the whole map? Does the swamp area have the same look and stuff no matter where on the map? Or do they add things or change the look for different areas of the map? Just wondering why I would want to travel all that way just to see the same thing as the swamp close to me.
prettu much the same
Oh π¦
Trust me, you'll still want to explore large parts of the map π
Which wouldn't be a good thing to do. Explore what you need, don't explore just because
that feeling when you demolish 3 trolls with a level 2 lightwood bow 30 flint arrows and a skill level 50 in bows
Another thing.. I am beefing up my defense against raids. I see some videos with these amazing builds but they look just wide open with no defense at all. Do they just make a world to build on and don't clear bosses to deal with the higher raids? Or is there something else they are doing like turn raids off?
Most content creator builds are likely done in creative
Oh ok.. there sure is alot to learn about this game. I was playing enshrouded and waiting for the next new stuff. And I know alot of people that play it came from this game.. so trying it out.. alot of fun so far
I dunno the best raid defense is the player character
So much of the fun for many of us is the learning process. Hope it brings you years of fun as well
Not wrong. I would like to get to a point where my tower defense skills prove to automate the raid defense lol
quality takes time. you're comparing your two digit playtime to other people's four digit playtimes
what is the max fish size in the game now? i thought it went from 1-5, but uisng console commands the biggest i can spawn in is a 4, is there a command to get a 5?
Did you try a 6
I love serpent hunting for food before boss fights:)
Makes me happy
Also it's a long sail to moder
Gotta set this portal up, 300 obsidian arrows made, brewing up a couple stacks each of health and stam meads as well atm
JUST FOUND TRADER FAWK YESSSSS
Did April Fools update added the ability to place Stone?
Did they know with loot multiplier you can technically dupe stone?
And melted your rig
Fire pit
Think camp fire but more permanent
iron pits would be cool if you could port them lol
Hell yeah
We turned on port all, got sick of sailing everywhere when we don't need serpents
Especially when ur sailing to the same place n back 10 times
About to fight the almighty moder
Gah, base got troll'd again
Just want to vent that this game just hates you, can't wait for Ashlands when everything gets worse
Earth wall prevents that
Trolls walk up to my brother and I base take a couple arrows to the face and run off never to return
I was just caught off guard that's all...
Then again, this was the second time I got troll'd
First time I was afk getting a swig of water
This time I thought I killed one troll, ground stopped shaking, I decided I was safe, then a log cleaved through my treasure room -_-
||there is always 2 trolls in the raid event. so if you kill one, another spawns to make sure there are 2. instead of killing them right away, and causing more new ones to spawn, I like to get their attention, lead them away from my base, and just parry or dodge and waste time until the event ends. and then kill the 2 trolls||
Thanks, I'll need to take note
Always 2 trolls there are.
No more, no less.
A master and an apprentice.
Was discussing with my husband that after Bonemass is done, drakes will be a problem
He wants to kill the dragon, but then comes Goblin Berserkers
If trolls were bad...
Hi. Is there an online information table about weapon infusions(on the internet, online), like valheim wiki etc, cound not find it
Howdy Howdy, is this what you mean?
Cheers

my friend code 841501911
artisan table aquired
Nice
yes
yeah it loads from one side
rotate the thing if you need too
yup
Now you can make black metal missiles
I still use my fuling night spawn scrap for it.. =+) but not everyone uses ballista defenses
thats awsome!! yeah we been in the plains a tad, got some black metal in the blast furnace now
we will probly tackle plains this and next week
very cool! Plains is fun indeed
i hate the plains so far tbh
hmmm.. why is that?
mobs are more annoying than anything else
trying to display it on a table
Use the serving tray
cant seem to attach it to an item stand
thanks bro
the boar trophy or what we talking about here
feast material
Is a grey dwarf farm worth it? I found 2 spawners pretty close and I'm fairly certain I can pick a spot between them and keep both of them spawning and just gank grey dwarves for an hour straight and grab the loot
It's worth it. You get free stone, free wood and free eyes - most useful mats - from them, as well as the sacrificial item for the Elder.
I already killed elder, but yes, the wood and stone is really handy
Also eyes, for portals and for one mountain tier food.
There's no rule that says you have to defeat a boss only once........
You must defeat it once to hang the trophy on the sacrificial stone.
But if you want to decorate your house with trophies.........
I have lots of eyes, the frost glands are a bigger problem, but my Viking does like the cold treat, what he hates is that wolf skewers and the cold treat has 25 min duration and Onion soup only has 20
Turnip stew lasts 25 minutes and has more health regeneration than onion soup, some players prefer to use that even in mountains
There's als feasts and the one most suitable for you is tied to swamp food.
It has a duration of 50 minutes, has evenly balanced health and stamina so it's a nice all round food.
And given it lasts twice as long as the other mountain foods, it's a good one to use.
Like me.
Good point actually
Sailor's bounty is better and available at the same point in progression
Sailor's bounty does require hunting for serpents though.
Hunting for serpents isn't that bad
And fishing.
Fishing is the part I don't like, but it's worth it
I haven't made my abyssal harpoon yet even though I've had the materials for ages
IN all fairness, but I find fishing easier as hunting for serpents.
In my current two games getting fish is no problem.
But I've been seeing 2 serpents in my travels in one game and 3 in the other game.
And since Serpent stew is having such a high HP value, I have been using that quite a lot in both games when entering a new biome and wanting that extra bit of HP before feeling comfortable.
In my singleplayer save I just reached mountains and I'm using serpent stew and sailor's bounty together for very high stats
It's easy just kill the serpent with arrows and gather the floating meats if one doesn't care about getting scales or possible trophies.
Then again, I usually finish serpents with timing the last shot after jumping at it to get any possible trophies before they sink.
I've started trying this, ever since I discovered you need the trophy for fishing bait. So a while back I lured it close, shot it dead and jumped after - only to discover my inventory was full and I had let the foods drop off. Out of stamina, 25 health, ladder on the far side of the karve (because why the heck not?). So yeah, I drowned before making it back to the boat. One of the more shame-filled deaths of them all - and the stupid trophy sank anyway...
fair but it still depressing how quick they build bases and still manage to make it look good
I started playing this game for the first time last night and Iβm so trash at building lmao
I'm starting to get good at it but still
can someone help me get stuff back on mountain
went to find the bog witch, forgot to bring food and now it's night, why am I like this?
ngl I was absolutely blasted so I donβt think I was good at much lmao
Yeah, managing stamina is important.
watch guides
I've got a good idea of building when I started recreating bases from yt
I will be dedicating today to that yes
I hate the Ashlands boat
Not only is it too large for most shore areas in the game, it's difficult to sail in the tight areas of Ashlands
The worst of all, there's this bug that's constantly flipping the boat over and destroys it
Never heard of that bug before π€
I have had it happened to me multiple times ever since Ashlands release a year ago
I don't think ur supposed to use big boats 24/7
yk karve is cool too
#screenshots message @light moat
Aww, I'm still in the swamp so idk
Oh wow, thatβs crazy! Whatβs that orange flame looking thing?
Staff of embers?
No no, in the background. It looks like a flame spire.
I think he means that spiral-like beam
It's just Ashlands weather
Oh nice, it looks cool like that
It's those flames that falls from the sky and destroy your wood build pieces
How old is that world? And have you ever used mods on it?
No mods and it's a relatively new world
It happened to me way back when I first played Ashlands in another world as well
Using Steam?
Except the boat flipped entirely back then
Yes
Ever tried to verify your files?
I doubt that's the problem
I'm not the first one or the only one with this issue btw #screenshots message
This was a bug existed ever since Ashlands came out and they never fixed
It could be if you're one of the few players where it happens.
I never had that problem happen to me with any of my ships in the multiple games I played.
Perhaps that makes me lucky, but then, if you don't give a possible solution a try you will never know whether or not it's fixed or not.
Either way, I only lost like 30 of those plates that costs me 30 black marbles which I have a lot of
I managed to swim to the boat and grab my other mats, although dying a few time in the process
Haven't had that happening to me. The only ship that I've ever had flip on me was a Karve in full storm. But I don't generally sail very much, and haven't been to ashlands more than twice so far, and just got there with ship, planted a portal and waste the ship, so it didn't have much time to do such things.
I am playing on a world with no map rn and trying to find the fire sword and had to basically sail around to the island that contains one of the pieces
Yeah I can see that. As said I just haven't used that ship much at all, so I might not have given it enough time to happen. Don't know.
The ship is difficult enough to sail on its own
It is, I still prefer the Karve when sailing :)
The tight water spaces make it that you have to reverse your boat almost every time you hit something
I usually like smaller boats too unless I am carrying a lot of mats
As Chris Martin sang: "πΆ No-one said it was easy πΆ"
me, still running around carrying a torch at night, seeing discussion of boats:
Shouldn't you have a club by now?
Lmaoo go get some bronze or something
Hey, the Torch makes for a pretty good weapon early on :) Don't sleep on it, just remember to bring some materials to make lots of them.
And it is quite cheap too π
I do wish it counted as a fire though, so it would frighten greydwarves, and give heat while running over mountain or nights.
I have a hammer/club/torch/axe/workbench/chopping block/campfire/cooking things
that's literally it tho LMAO
"You have acquired Kitchen Sink"
Torches are great because they keep necks away so you don't have to kill them
β€οΈ
no idea how to do thsi yet lmao
EU?
NA lol
You will learn over time.
Every time you gather something, you will get a shitload of recipes, check you hammer and crafting station(s) to see what it has unlocked.
After that, just pick what you think may work best for you and use that.
At some point you will have to destroy the first boss and at that point you need to move into the next biome. Things will become a bit more dangerous at that point - as it will each time you enter a new biome - but if you take things with lots of patience, you will get there.
You will find out as you progress π until then i would keep out of this server unless you are really stuck because you will inevitably encounter spoilers here.
spoilers don't bother me hahah
yeah I've already picked up plenty by simply just playing, I made a really crummy makeshift house as practice hehe
don't watch yt or ask anyone here about the game honestly
So many things were spoiled for me
We brought up the relevance for a spoiler free channel for this reason.
|| I didn't even know ashlands biome was a thing up till recently π ||
Easiest way to practice that: find yourself an old house and repair it. Add the missing pieces so you know how things work.
Then go outside and build a bigger version of it. Keep an eye at the colors of the build pieces, as they will give you a clue about how much you will be able to add to it.
Eventually you get stronger build pieces, making it easier to build bigger and more sturdy houses.
Or js speedrun the game and build metal house ππ»
for sure, I found a cute little one I plan on overtaking. I'm stockpiling resources rn, trying to get more leather scraps hehe
<-- thinks something, but decides to keep his clap shut to avoid being banned.
Or js build a karve and go to the ashlands n live there idk
Piece of advise, try to find a house close to the shoreline.
It makes things easier later in the game when you need to sail to transport certain items and there's a very useful material to be found there (flint).
But eventually upgrading the small houses you find won't be enough, so always keep in mind that you will need more room.
One reason: you will have multiple crafting stations with their upgrades taking up lots of room.
very helpful thank you! I tend to gravitate toward water areas to begin with because I love the ocean in actuality so regardless I think I would end up with something on the water haha
Just don't try jumping while the boat is sailing π
I'm afraid that isn't possible, but you could find yourself a small island and turn that in a base.
With some luck you will even manage to avoid most monsters in the special events when doing that.
is it generally advised to usually sleep the night away?
I don't' mean on the water but near the water fyi
The night is one of the more dangerous times, so sleeping it away is useful.
sleep is optional
Yes, you won't be cold and less enemies will spawn. It also skips time for crops, fermenting, smelting and other things.
I always play through the night unless I have a reason to sleep
like sleeping so I can mine bronze in peace
there is 1 good reason to sleep
Or avoiding wraiths
the game saves while you're sleeping π
Oh, so that's why you got killed 1,000 times in the swamp?
I'm playing on hardcore difficulty leave me alone π ππ» ofc I'll die
First playthrough too and playing at it
thank you! v helpful. I would rather sleep a lil now while I'm stille learning and making things
If you play on hardcore difficulty, going on an adventure at night is even more dumb silly as it is in a casual playthrough. Especially on a first playthrough.
But if you think you know best, go ahead.
Just don't give wrong information to other new players like you just did a few times in the past 20 or so minutes.
grandpa its not my problem that you can't read between the lines
You're the only one complaining they know it's a joke
Find a pill that says chill on it and take it
Ah, we're heading into insults now.
That actually says a lot more about you as it does about me.
Fortuately there's also an option for me to deal with blue skinned kiddies like you. π
And that's blocked person #3. π
Since you're in meadows and soon in the black forest phase, there's few scenarios where it's best to sleep
1- if you're going to mine Bronze, tin in the black forest, only do it in the morning
2. Skipping crops, smelting, tame process
3. or just trying to play safe
It's not an insult If it's true, you've been like this since yesterday unable to tell the difference between a joke and not
and I don't blame you since ur 40+ year old in a gaming discord server texting 24/7 with young adults
be kind to us 40+ year olds
Some of y'all are cool and some of y'all idk what to say
Blue skin? π€
but this one is definitely not one of them @pliant hatch
The black forest dweller kind π
been pissing me off for no reason
Ahhh got it! Went right over me lol βοΈ
Reminder: What would rocky do
and here I even used google
Perhaps we should get a rocking chair in this game.
Giving a bit more comfort as the throne.
Would be the perfect piece of furniture for grandpa (and grandma) kind of persons like us. π
"The Fugates, commonly known as the "Blue Fugates" or the "Blue People of Kentucky", are an ancestral family living in the hills of Kentucky starting in the 19th century, where they are known for having a genetic trait that led to the blood disorder methemoglobinemia, causing the skin to be blue."
I meant the ones living in the Black Forest, Smiffe. π
but but
I identify as a forrest living child π€
Also happens from ingesting a type of silver over a duration
atleast when I grew up in the outback of sweden π
Ah, but you don't / didn't live in the Schwarzwald, don't you?
It's also a region in Germany.
Not sure if any Viking has been there in the past, unless he turned upstream instead of downstream after raiding Dorestad, but the BF in the game gives me the impression it's similar to the German one.
most forrests in northern Europe looks the same
very uneven ground, some big rocks due to ice-age moving them around, hills and some "streams" looking stuff since melting ice-age did that to the terrain
see?
Looks like a giant barnicle.
You sure that isn't on the back of a Leviathan?
The ground is shaking
Or he had mined copper and threw away all the stones he had gathered. π
The black forest after log troll and I go out mining
probably some kind of aftermath of copper mining yea
Could have been someone searching for Rocky honestly lol
I bet at least one of those Is Rocky hiding
I met my first ever 2 star berserker today. I thought I could stun him with my secondary Atgeir attack. Safe to say, im still finding bits and pieces of my face in the area
Yeah, I noticed that Bam-bam hits pretty hard, even without stars. With those, it must be even much worse.
Its definately a mistake I only do once π
I find that flesh rippers work well for starred berserkers, because you can deal high damage in a very short time with the two-hit combo
I hope you didn't play a perma-death game.
Oh hell no. Im not a fan of hardcore game modes. Its not for me
Flesh rippers? I might look into their weapontype in another playthrough. I ALWAYS go shield and mace or sword. This time, Im finally trying Atgeir
It's not much of a weapon type, right now we only have bare fists and flesh rippers for fist weapons.
Hmmm, that kinda souds like me.
Mace + shield and a bow. Occasionally a sword to replace the mace if it works better.
And then I decide to play a game at "hard" settings and immediately decide to use a Spear to see how it goes.....
The Irony, I think my spear skill on that character is higher as the mace and sword skills I had on other characters. π€£
I never play on hard. But I also thought that after 600-700 hours, using the same weapon loadout over and over was a wasted opportunity
PLUS! People say Atgeir is great for harder difficulty, as you learn to avoid attacks rather than tank them!
I think the Atgeir will be one of the few weapons I most likely won't use.
Simply because I have problems getting that secondary attack going.
I already got a problem with that with the normal weapons and for the Atgeir it's kinda mandatory to use it.
Atgeir and mace secondary have high stagger which is useful in higher difficulties where parrying is less reliable
Yeah its not reliable, but you learn udner what circumstances it starts being hard to use. But yeah its a risky weapon
Is there anyone new to valheim that wants to do a vanilla playthrough?
Atgeirs secondary is fantastic for stagger. But a 2 star berserker doesnt give a f**k π€£
Atgeir has many applications, but it's also going to force a combat style you might not be adjusted to. It's understandable why some sidestep it.
Its definately not my favorite thus far. But I have to try something new and fresh
Most its shortcomings can be dealt with, with positioning
There's a few people looking to do a vanilla play through in #1024264966712340510
Thanks just found that appreciate the help
You're welcome. Hope you find a fun group
I just sunk like 2 straight hours into this game and didn't realize it had been 2 hours omg
One of us lol
wlcc to valheim
I recommend not fighting a 2 star berserker
Build an earth column and snipe him down instead
Trying to decide whether to expand my base or build a new one in the mistlands hmm
If you're still looking I'll join you
New in the Mist
if you use the scythe, are you limited to just 1 farming proc per attack?
Nope, you can get multiple
not me excited to get home from my responsibilities to boot up this damn game again smh
gonna keep building my third shelter β οΈβ οΈ
It is a great game that can distract from many things lol
ALRIGHT so me and my friend solved the bonemass problem
I built a skybridge up to the trees and we moved our portal up there for the time being
(We still have the stairs leading down but the first few are destroyed so the monsters can't come up)
Our problem now is finding a way to deal damage faster than the bonemass heals.
The strongest we have are frost arrows but they're annoying to grind for :/
Blunt weapons are the best against bone mass
Yeah but we're like 20m in the sky
If you can forge frostner that kills him quickly
We have accepted that we simply do not have enough skill to beat this boss the right way so we just gotta rain down hell
No idea what that is sorry
Have you crafted poison resist mead?
yes
we usually get bummed by the huge amount of enemies, also we barely do any damage to the boss even with the mace and it only has to hit us a couple times to kill us
and then we have to get more mead and lox meat and start over π
I'd rather just farm frost arrows once and get it over and done with
Farm silver in the mountains so you can craft frostner and just whack him down
Have you considered dropping the difficulty from normal to easy?
And what do you need to find silver...?
farming a Wraith trophy is a giant pain in my ass
Iron pickaxe and a wolf/lox cape and some luck. I just whack away at the mountains until I find a silver vein. Beating bonemass gives you the wishbone to detect silver but before that it's RNG
Plus hacking away at the mountains is fun
It's not even personal. Skill levels, gear check, and proper diet
You need silver to make those capes
you can also use frost resistance mead, which is quite easy to make
If you want to cheese it, you can use a sledgehammer to find damage numbers underground
I havent played in a long time but that's all I remember. Am looking to start up again brand new
can't find turnips so we're really squishy
lox meat is by far our strongest food
if we put core wood in furnace will we get more coal ?
I think it's always 1:1
food is easily one of the most important things to get in valheim, when you're going on tough adventures
No, all wood is the same. But pine trees drop more total wood
some luck
Optimism won't do anything to help you against RNG. And you are assuming a new player would or should attempt any of that
thanks
do we get those cores in troll cave?
Furnace treats all wood equally, everything turns the same.
π«Ά
Nope.
yes but... no turnip
will dungeons reset after we raid them ? i mean those bruail chambers in black forest
Finding silver early in the mountains isn't really rng dependent, if you've played the game for long enough you can easily recognize where silver spawns in the mountains
If you think it's rng dependent that's just a major skill issue ngl
Only yellow mushrooms grow back, but no enemies respawn.
Only exception of dungeon that respawns enemy mobs is ||Infested mine|| in ||Mistlands||.
How many biomes are there now
8 and one placeholder
There's 7 completed and then there's the ocean which really isn't a biome imo
But you get the "AAAAAAaaaa" when you go into ocean the first time so that counts.
Archipelago are where it's at
Ocean does have the best music
Yes, silence.
Eh? It has its own track
Unless sailing, then you get the epic music.
But when you are still there is no music.

Are there any brand new servers anyone hosting
Sorry Asatru, had to.
You could search from https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510.
it be like that
Guys how do u deal with bonemass?
weapon wise
Iron mace
thats like the best weapon?
Sledgehammer do blunt as well and provide necessary AOE+knock back on groups
I've never used it
This is where many get overwhelmed. Dealing with adds
adds?
Enemy
Mobs that he spawns.
Still wish moder summoned drakes ngl
One of his attacks is spawning some mobs, but they are not too hard, just some of those you find regularly in swamps.
I play on hardcore π’
Now that would be cool.
ill try the fight to see what he's all about first
What if crystal attack could summon golem
Perhaps something very hard/hard should add
Ah yeah, if we ever get similarly implemented world modifiers as one certain game you've mentioned.
Speaking of which i'm so excited for april 28th
unlucky have college finals the week after
about to do what I personally consider an interesting thing
made a new character and a new world, in which I'm starting out with a cultivator, some vineberry seeds, and a Dead Raiser, but nothing else
gonna see how well necromancy can carry me
gonna bump combat difficulty up to very hard though, to make it a bit more of a challenge
are you bringing over eitr food or
tbh I've never used the Dead Raiser before and only just now learned that it costs 100 Eitr to use at 0 skill
I was trying to figure out what the vineberries would accomplish
I guess I could spawn in a ton of stuffed mushrooms for myself - the health and stamina they provide is still meadows level
the mushrooms in combination with the vineberries will do the trick
I mean, sure have fun with that, but I donβt know where your challenge would be if you are using devcommands. Maybe just use plant everything mod a farm the stuff maybe?
the challenge is intended to be going through the game relying only on the summons to deal with hostile mobs
what's your plan for when the staff breaks?
good question
I get that part. I was referring to the Eitr requirements and as Josh just asked repairing. I donβt think any of us are trying to rain on your parade, just looking at the logistics of it all.
i didn't think of that
Only the knees
please please please
the base staff has 200 durability, the fully upgraded has 350 if you loaded that it'd last a bit longer
yeah, i went ahead and made it fully upgraded
since that doesn't have any effect on the quality of the summons, afaik
hardest part here is going to be hunting deer via skeletons, i think
I think imma just hope the summoned skeletons do a good enough job that I don't need to summon them often
Defeated moder last night, ngl she was easiest boss brother and I fought so far, artisan table blast furnace spinning wheel and wind mill all acquired:)
Summons????
Something to look forward to in later biomes.
Dang, about to tackle plains this week
Only thing needed from mountains now is silver for frostneir upgrade and a golem trophy for our wall
Dead Raiser can summon tamed skeletons
It looked like a bag, is it used to craft a staff than?
Still waiting for summoned necks
Also guessing this is mistlands grade
yeah, it's Mistlands tier
requires 100 Eitr and 25% of your current HP (not max HP) to summon a single skeleton that has an 80% chance of holding a bronze sword and a 20% chance of holding the basic bow
So a mistlands teir weapon that defeats BF teir mobs...
the skeletons follow you around and their damage scales with your Blood Magic skill
they deal 3 times as much damage when the skill is maxed out
I see
Do not assume when you didnt try yet π
you can have up to 4 of them if the Dead Raiser is fully upgraded
this is basically like viking sims for me lmao
also, they undoubtedly have far more health than normal skeletons
Okok, seems interesting at least
the only thing is that they can't be healed by any means that I'm aware of
gotta just summon a new one when the old one dies or just gets too low to be worth bringing with you
you only have to have the 100 Eitr at the moment you summon them, and you don't need any at all after that
so it's best to summon them before getting into any combat situation
Hm, well it seems cool, I could see it being useful when needing to escape a bad situation
honestly, the most annoying thing about them is that you can't tell them to stay in a certain spot like you can with wolves
they follow you everywhere, no exceptions
Oh damn, even if they fighting they'll stop to follow u?
in my experience, yes
Oh wow ok
oh yea sure man https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/784C-923B-A4A1-C825 at this point just refund your game ^^
it makes it basically impossible to tame any other mobs with them present (no boar or wolf farms for me), and stealth is almost pointless to even attempt, but the ranged skeletts are actually decent at killing deer before they escape
Sheesh, by the sounds of it i doubt I'll be using that a lot this run lol
it's decent enough imo, if you do a bit of stealth on the initial approac so that you don't spook the deer, the skelett archer can fairly reliably kill it
the taming issue is a real problem though
He meant that you could use console commands to spawn more queen bees if you struggle finding them, so no need to trade with other people.
Another solution would be using https://valheim-map.world/ to look out of your seed and search solely for locations of bees.
I like that 2nd solution, mc has same thing it can really help, especially if ur an older player with a much older world and new updates hit
its obvious i can use cmds and stuff
either way thanks for the reminder, not trying to be a jerk
Valheim is different game compared to those MMORPG games where people trade with each other, Valheim is meant to be survival experience either solo or coop with close friends. So having any kind of trading system with other people would be pointless tbh.
well I like talking to people and I also get base tours
Sure, there is nothing wrong with that.
Some ppl spend hours on their bases or full sessions and make some really cool ones
I like to think my brother and I base is one the good ones, spent a few sessions on just the base alone
so true. someone showed me their mistlands base they built in 2021 or 22 in the placeholder biome. looked really fun
Oh yeaaaaa
and I started playing after the Mistlands were added ^^
I just discovered the hottub. It made me happy π
Its time to make another building in my base. The bath house!
my first one ever I plunked down in the mountains
I mean, what better place to have a nice place to warm up π
Speaking of mountain bases. Has anyone seen Chiselchip's "Mountain Tavern" build?
Wait til deep north hits. No better time to for coziness
I do find it a bit funny. One thing Id LOVE for Valheim, is being able to get the merchants into my base. You know, as an optional thing. But people chant "we arent meant to stay in valheim" etc etc. Then we get things like a damn hottub
Arent we getting a bit COMFORTABLE for a place we arent meant to stay in? What about building taverns?! Why can we build that?!
I want Haldor in my base!
Make a base around his shop π
Aye, go talk to him about it. I'm sure he feels perfectly fine where he is tho... π
That wouldnt work with the way I build my bases π @heady parcel You have no idea how fantastic my base is!
I just came across a deer swimming through the ocean- and it was being chased by a leech
Haldor strikes me as the kind of dorf that prefers a campfire and the company of his smelly loxes to more comfy environs
Where are the days you had to lit the campfire for him xD
@heady parcel Eh maybe. But for a pure gameplay perspective, it would "make sense" to have a temporary partnership with him while you are in valheim. I mean, it can be thought up easily.
But Im 99% sure it will never happen
Nah, I don't think that kinda convenience is something that will ever be considered
For me its more about getting some life into our base. Immersion
Suicidal chickens do that for me! And I'm considering bringing the wolves inside, since they can't even defend themselves from a bunch of bats
Im definately getting wolves too π But for me its not quite the same
It might have to do with my building philosophy. I generally build my bases in these games, in a way where Id be happy to live if I was in that world
Thats why cozyness and immersion is important to me
Hah I get that, but I'd never want a mumbling dorf hanging around camp. My brother causing disorder in the chests is quite enough for me π
But heres the charm! It can be optional!!
Still I think its an unpopular opinion, and would probably take a lot of dev time, thats needed elsewhere π
something I would love to do at some point is make a base inside an occupied dwarf fortress
You certainly can do that π just be careful not to punch them
want me some roommates who know how to fight
Hey an even better idea! Imagine if we could "recruit" those dwarves for protection?
Im full of wonderful ideas right now.
hire some dwarves to just stand around your base in the meadows and shoot anything that shouldn't be there
Viking is responsible for his own protection π he will be not hiring mercenaries π
Be careful what you wish for. The mages are pretty trigger happy and don't care much about collateral. I've seen a two star dorf mage completely annihilate the tower around him while consistently missing the Gjall he was trying to kill. Looked hilarious...
Hey Vikings worked in groups!! Ever heard of a 1 man shieldwall?!
With other vikings π
Dwarves is the next best thing π€£
so what you're saying is I need to lure out the fire mage and get him "accidentally" eaten by bugs?
I'd say that would, long term, be better for the base's structural integrity
the only mage that needs to be in the base is the one that heals his buddies
2-3 support mages, and a handful of rogues
I hate mosquitos. Dying to them because Im fighting something else, makes me actually angry LOL
wear the root chest armor
reduces pierce damage by half
Im full plains armor atm. I died because I was fighting like 10 plains enemies, with several star, in the rain with reduced stam regen π
One of my most nervous fights recently was after aggroing half a fuling camp (got reckless) and then aggroing a flock of lox AND three squitos while trying to kite the fulings around. Somehow survived (hail Bonemass!) but those squitos swooping in like opportunistic stuka bombers...GRRRR!
the root chest is still arguably a better idea, given that both the bugs and the spear fulings do exclusively piercing damage
unless we're talking upgraded plains armor
Its almost fully upgraded π
eh, the deathsquitos are still super annoying tho
i almost wish there was some kinda thorns effect you could get
where if an enemy damages you, a percentage is dealt back to them
even then root probably wins as long its only chestplate vs chestplate...
introduce the deathsquitos to the concept of karma
I've never worn the root chest. I craft it to complete the set - but then I end up wearing proper armor all the same. Don't like depending on a situational resist, and everything else hits harder as a consequence.
yeah, losing out on like, maybe 10 total points of armor in exchange for reducing all damage from one extremely common damage type is pretty good
especially since %damage reduction applis before the flat reduction of armour
its why bonemass is so damn overpowered
its not 50% damage reduction reality, its more like 70 or 80
personally, when I go to the swamp, my first priority tends to be the root mask (less need for potions)
agreed
but the chestpiece is incredibly good after that
Tbh it could be balanced by just switching the order it is applied π€
the root legs do literally nothing beyond finishing the set iirc
the set bonus is powerful tho
only if you're focused on archery
yeah, but its only that particular set bonus thats this stupid
the rest works as intended
if you prefer melee combat, the set bonus is kinda pointless
I meant more the bonemass power π
solo it only has 25% uptime so its somewhat balanced relative to the fights you pick
25% uptime is more than enough if you're even remotely careful about picking fights
the only time I can think where it wouldn't be enough is in dungeons
if you think of it as a panic button then you've got other problems imo
its better for a controlled fight, yes
is tar, as in the status effect, flammable?
you mean, do tarred entities take more damage from fire?
Yes, when you are tarred you are very weak to fire dmg
does that override the normal resistance rules?
If you have fire wine active you should still be resistant
afaik the game normally only cares what your highest level of resistance is, regardless of any weakness
So a fuling shoving a torch up your backside is bad when bathing in a tar pit?
Yes
unless you drank the fire resistance wine
does this also apply to fulings I drew through tar?
Not sure but i would think so, yes
if the enemy does not already have a built in resistance, being tarred should make them weak to fire
but who knows if the player rules there always apply to enemies
the only one I know for sure that does is frost weakness from being wet
tbh i am not sure how it works with innate resistnaces
you cannot combine resistances
if only it were possible to lure an Ashlands enemy (or just a surtling, i guess) into a tar pit
wait really? i did that 30min ago and thought i was being smart, damn. You mean frost +fire?
what's meant is, you can't stack resistances to the same damage - the highest level of resistance is the only one that is accounted for
I ment 2 small resistances of the same type
Oh yes, but i meant more like if enemy is naturally resistant to fire and you make him tarred which should make him very weak to fire what would happen, i assume the resistance takes precedence even if it is not active status effect right?
to get a bigger
oo so waht i said its possible?
you can get resistances to multiple damage types at the same time, yes
oki good to know
the Yagluth power gives resistance to Fire, Frost, and Lightning, iirc
With the one exception being the serpent scale shield, it's piece resistance stacks
that's because blocking reduces damage before armor is accounted for
yeah. just drink all meads to be omni-resistant π
literally the only thing the Yagluth power gives that mead can't is the lightning resist
and lightning is the rarest damage type in the game, I'm pretty sure
i always read proustite as prostitute
Eikthyr and Yagluth
in other words, don't even bother with the Yagluth power, and the Bonemass power is the GOAT
Yagluth beam is 50% lightning
If you mean dealt by anything then i believe so yes, but if you mean dmg type that is dealt by enemies then spirit is rarer i think π
bonemass goes hard
unless you're fighting mages
okay, fair, spirit is a rare enough damage type just in general that I forgot it exists at all
even against mages you're better off with a potion that wasting your time carrying the extremely situational Yagluth power
eikthyr buff ftw
I mean weapons you can get deal it, and somewhat decent number of them, but i cant think of any enemy that does spirit π
does the potion+yag power stack?
no
the same resistance never stack
that was already stated not even five minutes ago
π
okay, my bad, it was actually 6 minutes ago
With singular exception that is scale shield, and that is because blocking is calculated before armor is iirc π (which has also been stated before π )
guys im sad because i think my cat would really like valheim and shell never get to play it π
damn
tell you what, I'll trade your cat the ability to play specifically Valheim in exchange for being allowed to sit around all day with no responsibilities or worries outside of food, water, and comfort
When did they introduce the extra yield from farming?
Bog witch iirc
probably the update when Farming became a skill
Ah okay, so between my current and last playthrough
One time Thor got me when I was sailing
Im loving that bonus yield. Fantastic QoL
Was terrified
...literally how
Bro shows up raining bolts in the sky like fucking electric Santa Claus
Some of them bolts got me
I lived
...I was under the impression those bolts never hit the ground
Wait we can get hit by lightning?
so unless your boat was a mile in the air...
They can hit my damn boat
No you cannot if it isnt from Obliterator, Eik or Yag
I guess he was doing a low pass
yeah, no, the literal only way Thor's lightning can hit you is with the Obliterator in your base
My guess is you sailed into a hidden groundspot when the lightning was showing
Sometimes you have 1 pixel of meadow in the middle of the ocean, tall enough to dmg your ship
It was most likely boat smashing into wave or high sea ground
No this was lightning on my character multiple times
Can waves damage our ships though? I dont think Ive ever seen that
...have you never sailed a Karve in a storm?
Yes, if you go at the right angle into them
Karves get messed up bad by the waves during a storm
Plenty of times, I dont think Ive ever had it take damage from the waves
Or into high one in storm, yeah
Maybe I just didnt pay attention to it
easy to miss the sound of the boards breaking when there's all the noise of the storm (and sometimes serpents)
Very true π
personally, I tend to avoid the high seas with a Karve if I've got any choice in the matter
Chitin isn't worth it unless you just really want a harpoon
(but for moving tamed boars, I can understand that)
Same. With Karve I follow the shores. Also because Serpents are scary as heck at that time in the game
If you have finewood bow and flint arrows you are plenty prepared for them π
Theyβre balanced for black forest equipment, theyβre basically swimming trolls
Knowing me, I go out into the sea with a half broken ship already π
Well, it seems I overestimated them haha
Yeah i always check that xD and more often than not i actually make the ship when i need to sail and then pack it up π so i always have full hp ship
I do that too, but mainly if I have to bring it through a portal π
we carry a forge on ship, and always repair with hammer before leaving
assuming u have iron ship or better and have the storage
All ships are placed and repaired using workbench...
u just need a hammer
And be in radius of a workbench...
i like how repairs are free
and on base u should be and u have wood if ur carrying a forge to make one
so whats ur issue
?
That you dont need the forge
Yeah, tho the trade-off is that you need a lot of materials to make an item to begin with π
Portal is much easier to take with you
carry both mats workbench mats are req for ship repairs
just keep a stack of wood for ur forge workbemch comes with it
Just carry 10 wood, 20 finewood, 2 surtling cores and 10 gd eyes. That way you can repair ship and go home whenever you need to π
we make portal huts evreywhere we land if we ever wanan go back anyway soo no need??
In that case there is 0 reason to carry forge mats π
yes there is cuz if ur exploring new area u can just set one down for time being for repairs smh
Until that isnt enough xD
i have 2 portals at base 1 named Home other empty i use home for resting and restock while empty one i input name of other portal i want to visit so Home is perm named other is a transport portal.
one day youll have dozens of them so
and i do mean dozens
i transitioned from portal hub to this
I usually have a portal hub with named portals an one unnamed "oh shit" portal that i explore with
really minimalistic and reduces amount of two way portals required
yeah but portals look cool
and when u have a castle u can have a wall of em
n even if u only have 1 home portal eventually youll have dozens around ur world
yea those portals have names and marked on map so i can imput them in empty portal to reach when required
Ok so the fortnite skybridge worked and bonemass is dead
Makes sense, saves half the materials π
I made 200 frost arrows and we bullied it to death without resistance
my map has near a hundred markers now
so you went into mountains before beating bonemass?
found haldor and hildir 30 mins apart yesterday b4 beating down moder
we had already long since done that
since frost res is so cheap, and drakes are so weak
not that it mattered cause a golem was fucking the drakes up for me
he asks cuz it goes meadows BF swamp than mountains
where plains
if you get higher tier items you could bully bosses thats a given
we could've used any other arrows since it couldn't damage us, but we tested frost and they were best
we bullied moder with just my brother and i, a max silver sword, 2 max drauger bows and 200 obsidian arrows
took 20 mins
easiest boss we fought in our opinion
oh and u cant forget the careless whisper playing in the headset the whole fight
Heh, taking ashlands weapons to Eik xD
There's a video that shows if u get a sneak attack on eikthyr with blackmetal knife max u can 1 shot it.
someone was suggesting getting that weapon you get by hunting hares
Ofc u can't sneak attack on a boss without going ghost but
Nope ,and wont be for quite some time still
I tried the beta version released on March 17, but I couldn't see anything related to the deep north in the game.
Oh you mean ||Krom||? Yeah it is awesome π
Okey Thank U ^^
Is there a release date yet? I can't wait to try it out.
No date or official estimate yet, but to quote devs "Deep north isn't comming anytime soon."
We can make our own guesses but they would be mostly meaningless π
You can if you time it right π but there is extremely short window for it right after you summon them.
Than there ya go blackmetal knife and u can 1 shot eik
Pretty sure you can with earlier knives too π
Nah, guy in the video tested basically every weapon in game past plains/mist
He wanted to know what one was strongest
Then it was not backstab, those are indicated by making the same sound as hitting the enemy when he is staggered
It's a different sound
^
Oh, wait, yeah it is
Is 2 and half iron chests of gold coins good or am I failing at life
I feel as a viking I'm failing
Gold doesn't really matter but that is a LOT of it
There's not a whole lot to spend gold on in the end. One potential "gold sink" item traders could offer would be a "cornerstone" item, that could be used as a stone build piece but would act as solid ground for build integrity calculations. In effect making pinetree towers unnecessary. While I love my pinetree tower I eventually grew tired of seeing the tree poke out of the tower in windy weather - so I magicked in a rock where the treetop was and then cut it down. I built the tower right at first so I don't feel like I cheated at all. But holy high heck the amount of indoor space it freed up with the tree crown gone...
#screenshots message @plush umbra Because even with ghost mode enabled you still need to hit the timing, i couldnt be bothered so i simply choose enemy with close enough higher hp
Pine tree tower?
I built a very tall tower using a pine tree as support
Interesting
Also traders sell a lot of different seeds and not to mention eggs tho I ain't seen em yet.
Trees count as solid ground when building, so by having your support beams extend from the trunk, you can build MUCH higher than otherwise possible.
What about stone
Any terrain counts as full support.
Ok
When crafting bronze - does making the 5x stack give 5x the skill xp, or just one "tick"?
Just one, unfortunately
Dang it...
I found the location of the first boss yet I still canβt find enough boars to gimme those sweet leather scraps LMAO
just pick berries theyll show up
Pickaxes 92 heh
yall i got serpent shield π
Very nice and very useful
Wait the Ashwood bed gives less comfort than the dragon bed? Wtf
Posted in the servers-and-lfg I do apologize I'm just really wanting to get back in the game and haven't found a decent server in a few years. I am sorry for posting this here. Just miss playing with a great community.
you will find one eventually! i believe
Man I hope so, Valheim is so much better imo with a community. Actually makes me sad that the server I was on the server owner just stopped playing and everyone lost everything. I miss the adventure, I miss the community.
I like the cookn powders, so I'm usually broke
I'll have a look if I can find your post there, when did you post it
2 loxes acquired
Why did 1 goblin camp we fought had 1 berserker 2 mages and another we fought had 2 beserkers n 2 mages
Also 2nd one had way more fulings
Blackmetal sword acquired
starred berserkers are fun (:
Lol
My friends and i just got to the mistlands, and the gjall are really giving us a headache. What would you all suggest to deal with them early on? Please feel free to ping me with any responses since im not actively checking discord atm π
shoot the egg sacs on the bottom, thats its weak spot. the fireball spit is pretty easy to evade if you're not super close and the ticks are easy to kill, aoe weapons are good against them, or anything else really
fire resistance meads
eh not really riding is really meh
if you wanna try it out and experience go for it ig
I use it just to relocate them as needed, they tend to roam around a bit

is the pet rock still around?
Got both frostneir and porcupine maxed out, neither is better than the other depending who u fighting, also blackmetal sword almost max as well but does no spirit dmg is it still worth carrying my max silver sword or no
Also got max scale sheild and max drauger fang bow, is it time to retire silver sword ?
Also yea
silver sword has some niche uses for the spirit damage, hold onto it but black metal sword will do more to things that don't take spirit
Should I still keep silver one on me or just keep at base
depends where you're going, but i'd leave it on display for now
Fair
Depends on who you fighting, always.
Plains mobs
Yeah then leave it at home UNTIL you fight plains boss, use it for that
Okok
Its BiS for that
Bis?
Best in Slot, basically best weapon for this boss thta is available at that progression level
Okokok
We bullied tf out of moder ngl
1 silver sword 2 drauger bows all max ofc and 200 obsidian arrows
Took 20 mins to beat her
Moder can be funny, she is sometimes flying a bit erratically and also depends how often she lands on how the fight goes
Yeah I've been told many things, we just made an earth pillar, a longer one we could run around while she flew, it was to ez
yeah this game MASSIVELY rewards people who overprepare
Hahahaha that we did apparently
We both had a stack of stam and health meads, went thru maybe half em
Only needed 3 of my health meads
Some people get all the way to plains before they even make a mead, they have a bit of a harder time sometimes haha
everyone plays differently, its great that the game allows it
Yeah we've been walking thru ts on our 1st actual play thru
Hi, I was thinking about picking up this game. Is it still well populated? And how fun is?
It's meh, better get a wife instead.
Well populated? It's a solo game...
I have a wife this is for down time. Is there achievements? Can you find people to play with?
First doesn't matter.
You could judge that yourself
No
Yes
What sort of weird answer is that?
random question but where is fishing bait made after the bog witch update? ik it changed a lot with the cooking station
The food prep table
yooo thanks I didnt know that was a thing. I knew about the new mead pot but didnt realise there was a 2nd new crafting station too
just gotta get me some iron then I can start fishing for more than pike and perch
Plains is very popular, I like to build with ocean access, and if you have another biome border nearby it can make things easier too. You can also build quite big because plains has lots of flat area, also great for having a farm there. Also in general you get better the more you build π
One thing to think about is roaming lox, they can be quite destructive if angered by night skellies or other mobs, so a moat or something to keep them away from structures is recommended. Goes for invasions too of course, but I've found lox to be bigger problems in plains tbh, they're so big that they can sometimes get by obstacles other mobs can't, seemingly by simply shoving each other when killing other mobs..
The main reason for me to build there is because I've been considering a second base, and unhappy about my first one, although it has been upgraded nicely but slowly running out of space since I gained access to Mistlands and the stuff.
The Plains also have a HUGE Swamp nearby with countless (I haven't fully explore them) Crypts, and with sea access as I despread of getting a better dock for hunting Sea Serpents during thunderstorm.
Avoid being killed
#screenshots message @rigid copper because you just went through portal from mountains most likely, the particles stay for a few seconds after
Sounds good. There are as many ways to approach it as there are players really, so hard to give any advice other than to think of how you want it to look, plan layout ahead and do a bit of terraforming to secure it before you start building. Also - youtube has an absolute treasure trove of people posting time-skip build videos of awesome builds. I'm quite fond of "Chiselchip" myself, he has a nice aesthetic style while not ignoring practicality.
I walked through a portal to the mountains then it started to snow crossed a plains black forest mist lands and then reached a plains coast in that order then it finally stopped shortly after the screenshot
It was snowing for a solid 3 minutes, 2 and a half minutes I wasn't even in the mountains nor did I take a portal
Some inspiration: #building-tips message
Morgen Gjall.
Planning to buy the game, is it still worth it?
Oh very much so
yes
Ask past me after 100ish hours: yes.
Ask current me after over 2,7k hours: YES.
Honestly this game is a game that just gets better with time, Im pretty excited for 1.0 release gonna be lots of content
@dreamy ore For sure play with people if you can though, makes the game so much better
Thank you everyone!
upgraded base hella thanks to tar today
made some ovens today too, tamed 1st lox couple, set up plains base thts almost done
Tar looks so much better than thatch, but can be a bit more difficult to get the tar roof tiles to mesh in nicely and still look good
oh we nailed it lol
if iknew how to acess the ss i took on my pc id share but im new to ts and cant ever find em
honestly. i dont even bother using screenshots, i just use the snipping tool
windows key+shift+s
ima have buddy walk me thru it this week so i can share our base n progress for 1st time playthru i think its impressive tbh, and ahh i see ill try that
YOOOO
thanks thats a gamechanger, next time brother and i on ill share our base
i cant get on w/out him so
screenshots will either be in your steam folder (if you use f12) - you can access these via steam (showin folder) or will be in a dedicated "Screenshots" folder on your C drive if you use PrntScrn
ive looked both never seen em sadly
F11 saves screenshots in the games folder also
ngl we will probly figth plains boss by friday
Noice
ty
bullied moder last night
I'm just gathering the unlock requirements for the Mistlands boss atm, need to find more dungeons hidden in the mist
So many cool new toys after Moder
r there plains dungeons??

Good luck fighting Plains boss, have you found the alter yet?
nope hahaha
ahh good luck, that took me 3-4 days (irl) and was probably what took the longest for my Plains section of the game
we been killing goblin camps draining tar pits breading lox farming barley flax etc
building whole new base in plains to probly mainly storage but we will make it look good
farming/storage base
Yeah i built my 2nd Big base when i got to plains
if you can find one that has a Mistlands border too it can be good
hey, you have ML and AL to worry about before DN
ik, but i also know i dont want bases there
yeah i've been using the prebuilt structures in ML for little temporary refuges
we do lots of portal huts for travel
No one tells you this when you buy the game but this game is actually an inventory/portal management game
my portal hub is so damn complicated now ahah
we can travel an island across the world on map n have n exi within a minute to 5 from us at all times
when u simplify it it complicates it
aint that the truth
u can set map markers on each portal base with portal name and have 2 portals in base and 1 u jusst change to whatever portal names u want to go
I still dont have the balls (or time) to play a nomap/noprtal game
yeah im g on that
gets insanely complicated if using this method when playing with others
not if its just u and 1 other
then u can have 2 portals at each portal hut as well just incase as well
2 at home and 2 in evry portal hut
i think my problem is that I use waaaay too many "temporary" portals. End up with a gazillion portals called xplore or xit or just x if i'm being chased by something
ah ye we make sure not to do that
n we lable anything we build or new or important place on map
has to be said, this game rewards organisation and prep like no other
@icy seal ajde k meni
lmaooooo, sum1 told me earlier game rewards those who go in over prepared after i said it took 20 mins to take down moder with 1 max silver sword 2 max drauger bows and 200 obsid arrows
well they werent wrong, even better if you have a protected workbench nearby to repair your bow in case it breakws
i think i was still using the huntsmen bow and iron mace when i took her down
wow
any thoughts on asksvin armor
i used like 3 health meads and 5 stam meads
solo though so she didnt have the extra hp from multiplayer
idk i not that far
cool
wait thats a thing?? okok
yeah its a % increase for each plaer (i forget the actual number)
okok
+40%
does it inc dmg output too?
yes
wow
damage and defence
double wow
monsters don't gain "more" HP like they use to back before we re-did the system
(where you could abuse it and spawn a boss with 1 player, then the rest would join and the HP didn't go up to balance)
its % based now?
players in the area
i see i see, nice
it's suppose to give the players a challenge, so they don't steamroll the entire game just by being, more players
honestly i find playing with more players a little more difficult than solo as you need so many more resources and end up being waaay more reckless
but u have more hands to get said rss
yeah. hence we have the modifiers to counter that if you want to
or u can do multiple tasks at once
or this
tho remember. 5 people mining 1 copper node takes minutes. compared to like 30-60 minutes if you're solo π
or more tasks completed per minute spent
u means seconds
many hands, light work etc
indeed
its easier and also harder with 2 players or more, depending on what you do. If you die and run out of extra gear, and have a friend, they can help you in their armour and by not being naked and afraid, but yeah you need to feed and gear 2 or more players then etc
I will say, the harpoon in multiplayer is amazing...
more players means u work as a team to acomplish goals, if ppl get greedy or lazy and work and chores not being done even 1 person not pulling they weight can doom u all
I personally am mostly finished with solo now though, played a lot solo and now I just prefer having others around, thats why I run servers
this is survival 101
just dont play with jackoffs
thats kinda the golden rule to any game
