Break through a side wall. The hanging spikes damage all enemies passing through and you can knock them back into said spikes for even more damage.

Use the ledges of the fortress to your advantage. like if you go up there the enemies will path to follow you and then you can jump off if needed. using the terrain to your advantage can make these fights much easier

Snap on both wooden pieces, and see if the gap still exists. Based on that I think your left wooden wall is a little to the left. else. Redo the frame or wall (as the whole wall is "far" on that exact point)

Yeah... The boat can only hold so much. But if you're careful, you can get two carts on there as well. It's only 1 1/2 carts full, and I DO NOT recommend doing it. You'll be sitting rather low in the water, will need to stay near the shore in case of bad weather or high waves, and you won't be able to out sail a sea serpent at full sail WITH the wind. Fun times, I not be doing it again, if I can help it.

Clothing I always do in descending order of wear:

Hat (head)
Cape (neck)
Armor (upper body)
Belt (waiste)
Pants (lower body)

No need for 2 melee weapons (sword or mace, not and).
No need for 2 arrow types.
No need for 6 food types.

Gives you a lot more functional inventory space.

Mace is for things that are weak to blunt (or that I just want to suffer), don't really care about the clothing as long as it's equipped and in it's corner (doesn't look nice but it works), keep extra food cause I'm a noob (lol), fire arrows for trolls and greylings and flint arrows for hunting.

I use Wood Arrows for hunting because cheaper and still one-shot deer.

Every material has a max height you can build to, if you have reached that height you won't be able to go higher, the strongest material is iron wooden beams and iron cage walls and floors but they are more expensive.

My first ever forward base called Fjelltårn

Lore of the base:
It was built early in the game on a place next to a copper ore close to the Mountain biome.
When I was mining the ore it always aggroed a wolf that usually spawned close enough to be attracted by the loud sound of the pickaxe.
After dying to a wolf always returned on the place to finish the ore.. hoping the wolf wouldn't be there, but he always came back and killed me.
So built a very simple tower that i could hide into and kill the wolf with arrows and wooden spikes.
I remember how much happy I was that i managed to get wolf meat that early into the game.. even tho that now it seems quite trivial it's a nice memory to me 😄

They likely deliberately reduced the fire damage so it wouldn't be too bad in the far north.

In deep north you need to carry an item to stay warm that is more powerful then the current mountain tier frost protections, it will be one crafted with the emerald flame thingy from the boss or you can also use dyrnwyn which means you save one inventory slot and could go Deep North before you killed Fader if you have the sword (this is pure 100% speculation from myself, don't take this for anything haha)

Next to it is my workshop and a faux greenhouse. I have three greenhouses so far. They all have berry bushes in them.

The main work buildings have the same layout just to make it easier to move stuff around. You can see two of my greenhouses from here. I do worry about getting enough resin for lamps, but I'll hit that bridge later.

The forge House is the only building I think that has enough space behind it for the kiln and smelter. So it's probably going back there.

I also have a watch tower and secondary hut, incase anyone ever decides to come onto the map here. There is another hut too, which is closer to the ocean. >.> I have three deer that run through around the tower and secondary hut though.

Haha! Yes. Just ‘interact’ with a sign to give it text. The default is black, but you can use markup to change the colour, and other properties. Oh and the text only shows on one side, so if you don’t see anything, dismantle and rebuild the other way round (it has ‘…’ on the front by default, so you can tell which way round it is, but that can be hard to see in poor lighting).

It was very difficulty to make them look good. Raising those pillars wasn't the hard part

At first I tried to do it without stone bricks, but just didn't work out, so Eventually decided to go with thin stone walls and covered it up with stone bricks

To allign those pillars properly, I first built the bridge up until the part where pillar is going to be, start building a beam from top to down to see where I need to raise the pillar. pain in the ass but worked
