lol
Yeah
ah ya i know about that
Cool shit, I built my base around one
"When pigs fly?"
The goblin word for "flying" is more accurately translated as "falling slowly."
Not so much for pigs
wish it wasnt so annoying to get skele archers
I kill my non archers wth the frost staff normally
? Why u need skelet archers?
it levels ele magic
for leveling blood magic
no, I was talking about using frost to get rid not skelly who are not archers
Oh, remember that too
Ah ok then 😄
Magic is not "that" old haha
2 y o
Unless you were there when it was written
There was a long time when Mistlands was not in the game ^^
I was like yesterday when it was added 😭
Yeah
Web biome
still got a world with it
It was awesome even as a placeholder
Hmm, remember also old swamps, but idk if I played with them, maybe in January 2022 already were new swamps
I also have "Ancient Metal" still hahahaha
Old flametal
Lol, old ahes land
Also have some on my old world 🙂
They are just were
As I know, I didn't visited on mine, so I should get new one
Can still spawn it in
Or, stop, maybe not, I remember when I was trying debug mode, I got into the ashen land, but I don't remember on which world, yay
not sure if game distinguishes in the code about spawned in or legitimatley mined stuff, don't think so, but I would like that haha
Probably on the mine experimental world
Lol, let it be
I think it's spawn flametal x
I still dabble in creative. But love the progression enough not to. Starting over is still fun for me
Yeah it has smth
Btw I kinda love my progression in Valheim, it's kinda slow but I have nowhere to rush
Probably I d make one tar farm, but nothing more
Truly open world. Play your way at your pace.
Remember when I met my first troll, it was so much of a fear
Earth was shaking, and I killed him from maximum allowed distance
Oh for sure. Noped right out when I seen a troll clutching a tree lol
Also I love how we can press escape and pause the game, or transfer our character to the other world to heal up or use some other space
Same I died a few times, all my first 4-5 deaths were from trolls when I first played, then when I finally thought I can carefully fight them and was preparing and stuff I got my first death by tree
next deaths after that was to leech, I did not know that water is dangerous, and didn't have good enough foods to survive the poison, we did not have mead yet
sadly no screenshots from that
I think Devs have a secret kill count for trees
When you get clear of the fall but don't account for the bounce or ricochet
I think devs will make Ashlands landing in a non Drakkar harder, feels too easy /just thoughts
My first landing was two spawners with starred charred, a morgen, and voultures.
When a tree hits another tree that kills u...
The first enemy I found in ashlands was a one-star warrior, I survived below 10 health
They hit so haaaaard
The feeling of walking away with single digit health is irreplaceable
Lol, yeah
Ok, maybe I ll break my house that I built for like 100 days
Hmm, there will be tons of resources
Moving to a new spot or upgrading existing space
#valheim-chat message lol I see
do smoke pass thru ladders?
stairs and ladders nope
Smoke needs a 1m x 1m space to pass through. Correct me if I'm wrong
I see, thanks guyys
Level 2 Boar and Wolf, same session. 👀
That's awesome. Nice luck
no and also iron floors etc dont work
Hey guys, is there any of dark magic that can control mobs?
Hmm, with Dead raiser you can summon your own skeletts. They are stronger version of normal skeletons.
Sort of, summons can be used to distract other creatures
I mean controlling, not summoning
No
No, not controlling.
I see
So, making them friendly?
That would be called "taming"
Like for a certain period of time
yes, some are scared by fire and will run away, there is also a mead to make squitos not attack you at all for some time, and taming yes
The roots from primal work so well for this
Doesn't change the answers
The ultimate dark magic: taming.
taming an army of 2 star asks if almost like clone wars levels of power haha
How much would yall say ut changes gameplay if i put the setting that’s lets me take metal through portals
I find it more tedious then anything having to sail back and fourth over and over just to move some metal
It just saves some time
If you don't like the tedium of the sailing process enable it, single player game customize to your enjoyment
I always thought the adventures that happened on the way were one of the best parts of the game. It's fun sailing into port after a long journey with a truckload of metal. It gives it an epic adventure feel.
Have not been here in a while... Is the game officially released yet or still beta?
And when its does release, are the characters we have currently going to stay or is it some sort of clean wipe?
Early Release still. Characters currently save separate of world saves
will they eventually be linked?
I don't know.
The saves we have now will remain in 1.0
It would be cool if they have some sort of early release item you get for being part of it
why? we already have the Odin 'dlc'
I should look into that
It was given to beta players before early access started and is now impossible to obtain
i only played early access, do I guess I dont have that
hey guys. totally new at this game and my gf and i feel this is going a little slow. We are at day 20 and still don't have the bronze age unlocked. Are we screwing this up? lol
There’s no wrong way to play
I think it changes the game a lot, you are basically enabling something that usually gets unlocked much later, you can portal metals in Black Forest with the setting, this happens in default settings at the start of the 7th biome (but if you really dislike sailing metal home then just do it, you need to figure out how the game is the most fun for you)
well it feels "wrong" when I'm getting obliterated all the time lol
if you’re having fun take all the time you need, have you killed the first boss?
yessir
Have you found any underground chambers in the Black Forest and been mining the ores there?
we are on a peninsula and attempted to build a small "metal farming" base in the dark forest but we keep getting invaded by those tree greyclaw dudes
i found 15 of those cores. just built a kiln and smelter but onlyh found tin so far
so we are working on smeling that while not dying. Is there an easy wayh to defend your base?
Spikes and walls feel a little...weak
Youll find copper as large rocks with metal veins also usually more inland and I recommend making a moat or earth walls
The stakewalls are very sturdy
was curious if there are actually damaging defenses we might unlock later or something
oh ok thanks!
The greydwarves aren't hard to defeat. Once you get some bronze weapons you'll be able to take ''em easily
there are defences but a lot further in the game your best bet for now is moats tbh, I recommend the atgeir or axe as your first weapon
Pickaxe yeah
Also fire scares off greydwarves, when mining copper it helps to have a few around so they bother you less
thanks for all the suggestions guys. uh, i'm not sure what atgeir is or where to get it
oh you just place standing torches around?
Atgeirs are made with bronze which you’ll be able to figure out how to get once you get some copper mined up and smelting
I’m not 100% if they run away from torches I always put campfires around
They’re like a long range weapon that’s particularly good against the Black Forest enemies
smart. i'll incorporate that then. also...do resources spawn back in this game? I noticed the chests i loot stay empty
Only respawnables are forageables such as mushrooms, berries, and enemies but chests no
ok thanks my friend! does that mean the cores will respawn as well inside those crypts?
those ghosts were smokin me for a minute. what's good for that kind of stuff?
No however further in the game you have a way of getting respawnable cores
ghosts are weak to spirit damage which you don’t have access to and resist physical damage, fire arrows do okay against them if you can keep a distance
bow and fire arrows work quite good for now
I see. thanks so much for the help. I realize now there's actually a help channel I will utilize to prevent interruptions in this chat. thanks so much for your suggestions my friends!
i just shut the door and used that aoe hammer on the other side. lol cheesed it that way
stagbreaker is great
yea i can't wait to break into bronze weapons.
Enjoy and best of luck with it
thanks again all
most veterans here love to live vicariously through new player experiences 🙂
does anybody want to start a new valheim world atleast 2 people my friends hate the game and wont play it with me i only got 15 hours so i’m new to this and i like to take it slow aswell
So do surtling spawners pretty much replace burning wood for coal
I have 3 in a pretty close proximity to each other and its seems thats more efficient then trying to burn a bunch of wood
Folks... we are about to tame Lox for the first time in the next coming days on a stream. Any advice? LOL
characters will never be wiped.
worlds will always be compatible.
It's our goal and we intend to keep it like that
yes
by a landslide
don't forget to look up the guides for "how to get my laptop to actually perform" videos 😄
so many options are locked on a laptop it's scary
no
a 4060 (laptop version) is about 73% better than a 3050ti
just the fact you get 8Gb DDR6 over 4Gb DDR6 ram on the GPU is alot
that's mostly your CPU and RAM's fault
unless you go overboard with instances in buildpieces
some comparison numbers
Sadly a laptop will pretty much always be inferior to a desktop, if its around the same price, in terms of performance.
Desktop is good tho, can be more powerful for the same price
Is iron armor worth it the movement speed penalty kinda crazy
Kinda, try mixed armour
There is some special abilities that u wanna have in your armour, like root chest gives u -50% piercing damage
Right now iv got troll armor with root mask
And there are kinda a lot of enemies that deal such damage type
Root mask is really good against poison enemies
Actually u can, but u need a little bit more space
And always a way to get energy
A bit tricky but possibly
I love desktops, I also have laptops. GeForce now works too if thats your thing, whatever works for you
any combination works, full iron, full root (both good for whatever you're aiming for, both have ups and downs, or combined. I'd upgrade troll to either root or iron, or a mix of both if you want that. Root mask depends if you want to use full set for the bonus or if you dislike or forget mead a lot, root chest is good for pierce resistance, and full iron is good for max armour but you will be slower
The iron helmet is pretty good, same armor but no movement penalty. For chest the root chest is gonna be pretty good for both swamp and a lot of future biomes because it has an insane "pierce resistance" perk. For pants its kinda up to your liking
I've had the same gaming laptop since 2021 with a Ryzen 5800H in it and its never failed me. Some laptops are built different man lol. Good like finding a suitable replacement!
me and another guy are starting a world anybody else want to join
If U Mean This Game, This Game Is Still Early Access lol
Mine is a Lenovo Legion S7. I call it the "Average C student of laptops." She doesn't work too hard, but she never disappoints when it comes down to the wire LOL
advertise in #1024264966712340510 and state where in the world you are ideally because timezones 🙂
would a new world have better looking terrain generation than one made in 2022?
depends how much is explored and what you mean by better, some biome distribuion has changed like mistlands used to be rarer at some stage but I dont know which patch exactly that was changed at etc
Any advice for finding the bog witch trader?
keep exploring and search many swamps. I'm assuming she works similar to hildr/haldor, so you don't actually need to explore every inch of swamp. If its a small swamp just do a little sail by the edge of it, or if its a big one run through it. If she's in there she'll pop up on your map
Dude. Read.
.
I just made a meal prep table opened it and there is no recipes available?
Suppose it's possible, have you grown anything yet?
Like crops?
Yea iv grown carrots and turnips
Bog witch found?
When you first build the table the sole thing you can make is Raw Fish if you've caught any fish ever.
Everything else requires trading with the Witch or progressing to at least the Plains.
You need to have either 1: bought feast stuff from bog witch trader in the swamp, are up to plains 5th biome food and got some material for that or have caught a fish, if none of these are true you won't have recipes yet
but yeah its mostly for fish and for things from 5th biome onwards, unless you have found the bog witch then it opens up a new thing
Alright guys I swear- no devcommands this run
Not even to skip the black core hunt
lol, do whatever makes the game fun for you, suffering through hardship in mines builds character though xD
It did suck when I went to a mine with 3 secret rooms and they had already been looted but not marked on cart table
Day 8, going great. Bout ready for Elder, found Haldor on my start continent already
you going at a reasonably fast pace then
Stems from going from 3x resource rates to 1x - want to get the stuff faster again, and the way to get it faster is to get the better tools faster
(vanilla run to)
Is troll cape the only cape pre wolf fur cape
Technically no
There's the deer cape (that nobody should ever make imo)
Troll hide has limited uses, deer hide has many uses as a construction mat, so if you can you should absolutely do troll (if you want a cape at all)
Well for armor im going to go root helmet and chest iron legs and then troll cape was wandering if there was a better cape
Deer or Troll is the same.
There are better capes once you get to later biomes that do special things. But until then, no other option
They're usually for utility rather than armor (with one late game exception)
Im about to fight bonemass anything i should know?
also use poison mead
I spent a wholleee lot of time collecting materials and building a black marble ziggurat, planning to have stairs going straight up the sides of it like you see on aztec pyramids, only to realize I never planned for how low the slope is on the stairs so now I have to make crisscrossing stairs :(
I wish developers create nets for fishing and attachable to boat.
Why is the iron stuff so expensive, I'll need an iron golem farm to get everything lol
It’s because you get iron faster than bronze
Man on like the last 50 minutes of this discovery trip I've found just about everything I needed.
A swamp with 5 crypts
Haldor and Hildr
Turnips
Elder spawn (all of these things on the same island)
and then a meadows with a leviathan nearby and a big mountain across the way. This is a great place to setup base
mine the leviathan and make an abyssal razor, very good weapon (basically iron tier knife)
I agree
Make abyssal, kill elder, raid mines
Plus I already have swamp tier food so we're just rolling in goodies now
it looks better with root imo then troll cape
game is made by IronGate 😛
I feel like the golems in mountains should drop silver, i mean the textures have silver veins all over them
This would make silver even easier than it already is to obtain before bonemass
Speaking of Golems, I've learned to hate them a little during my bow challenge run. For some reason there has been so many Golem spawns that it's been a real nuisance. Well, multiple wood arrows and skill training dummies eh?
on bow run if you don't die much there are so fun, go down with wood arrows super fast at 70+ skill
My challenge contains no death too, so I have no deaths and bow skill is already in 70 lol.
noice
So you got a machine gun now basically
Starting to be. Full Fenris with fully upgraded Huntsman bow and Draugr Fang.
Fenris + Ratatosk = gotta go fast
Did you use root armor at all during swamp stage for the bow skill increase?
I didn't actually, I wasn't lucky enough to get too many abominations on my first swamp, so I went with Harnesk, iron helmet and troll leggins.
4 crypts and I have more than enough iron still after fully upgraded helmet, pickaxe and Huntsman bow, plus no need for silver other than for cauldron upgrade and Draugr Fang (which I have already).
What arrow types have you been using
Mostly Wood, Flint and Fire arrows. Flint arrows are easily found in chambers so haven't needed to craft them. Wood arrows are cheap AF and save some feathers. Fire arrows are very effective in BF.
In Frost caves I used iron and poison arrows I found from sunken crypts while mining iron.
I have gathered materials for frost and needle arrows now and save them for later uses.
Bronze Arrow 😏😏😏😏
What enemies do you plan to use frost arrows against
Planning to use them against Yagluth and later bosses at least. Bonemass melted against them.
silver is so easy to get, worth is for ashlands imo, I m also doing a bow playthrough rn
in mistlands with frosty and needles atm
Yeah, I mined 3 nodes of silver which is enough for any arrow needs for the rest of the run I think. I've tried them there and found them quite effective, so I might go there with combination of frost and silver arrows.
Morgen gjall.
why would u use silver arrows over frost ones tho?
I mean frost deal less pierce, more frost (than the silver do spirit) and on top of that is not a DoT and also slows down enemies 🤔
Spirit damage is effective as charred and valkyries are weak against it, plus there are few mobs that are resistant against frost damage.
was there a major update between like Summer 2024 and now?
did i miss anything? i havent played
Bog Witch update was added in last October.
Bog Witch Update is pretty major cuz it changes the most effective balanced food loadouts at the moment
Since every biomes feast has more total stats than any food in the next biome
Except Plains Pie cuz the Mistlands food have Eitr
Most effective depends on context.
That Is not true... It Is compareable but it doesent have more
Boss fights and generally combat-focused encounters? Regular food is still king unless you're a mage.
General housing purpose or visiting previous biomes you completely outclass? Feasts.
It's a 3rd choice if you're going for balanced cuz the most stat heavy food for each biome is better in overall stats but total stats wise Feasts are usually the 3rd choice of food if you're going for max statpool
Ofc bringing fish into context changes things
I never know if I should read it as "com-PAIR-able" or "COMP-arab-le" 😭
Comparable cuz compar(e)able
The e doesn't come into the final word
Plus I mean either way when entering into a new biome always go with feast of previous biome
That doesn't change regardless of the feast or biome in question
The Mistlands Feast is very stat heavy though, and is probably something worth using in every lategame balanced food loadout if possible imo
I am not talking about any context at all, i am simply saying that statement "...every biomes feast has more total stats than any food in the next biome." is not true. 🙂 Swamp feast has 70 stats, 3 mountain foods have 80 or more, mountain feast has 90 stats and 4 plains foods have more than that. Plains feast 110 stats, 3 mistlands foods have more, and thats not counting eitr ones
Well true it's not every biome, my bad
This got me thinking I gotta start using the Ashland’s feast now that I’ve beat Ashland’s
What are yall referring to as feast?
FFH or FFS not sure which set up yet
feasts are the longest duration foods in the game any food with 50 min duration and can only be eaten once placed from eating tray is a feast
It's only Mistlands onwards now that I see it
Ah i see
Yeah mistlands and Ashland’s feasts are king
how can i be a mage
Plains feast only really worth using if you are going to plains or below
Ashlands feast + Mistlands feast + any desirable stat food is very good.
You need to go to Platform 9 3/4
Are those two feasts enough to use prot bubble?
Or if no stable supply of Mistlands tier food
Yes.
Let’s go
I use Plains Feast cuz I cba to get a constant supply of Puffs and Shrooms
Yeah I guess it depends on what stage of the game you’re in, I found myself having way too much magic mushrooms and royal honey from my conquest of the mistlands lol
Either way it's easy enough to get Plains Feast and I don't run through it too fast + I have a comfort room that I keep tping into so I can refresh the feast
Have you planted them mushrooms?
Nah, we just found a good place to setup a remote farm but I'm lazy
I might do it today though since I also haven't setup our Chicken farm
I recommend keeping your chickens close to the kitchen, they populate so fast
The Gjall were the main rsn I didn't wanna setup a Mistlands farm, I can't imagine the irritation I'd face losing them to a Gjall
Yea, I'm planning on getting a new kitchen setup too atm since I'm the one handling food scene for our server
Can't let the level 60 Cooking go wasted
Organic?
do the flametal pillars still sink when mined?
Yes
With 1% chance to start sinking per hit.
i searched and saw your comment ty
Honestly this is one of the most bs mechanics they've added to the game
Eh it encourages taking it on smarter, I like to use queen buff and start mining away from the top and usually am able to get the whole node
I’ve got more flametal then I know what to do with and have only engaged like 3-4 fortresses and pillars
Yea it is definitely like this but I'm more pissed that it limits the overall Flametal supply
Their mechanic works exactly like leviathans in oceans, so it's not that new thing.
Having renewable ways to get all resources in this game would be nice, unfortunately the world is not sustainable in the current state
It was 10% chance before so, 1% is much lower chance.
Chitin is not as valuable in the game though
That wasn't the point.
It's the point I'm making
Flametal would be less valuable if there was no risk in mining it all up
Chitin isn't used in all that much
Mechanically the sinking isn't anything new.
I don't mind the risk per se, I just hope they don't add any major build pieces requiring Flametal
Like I don't mind any metals limited supply atm except Silver
And to some extent Iron
There can be plenty of flametal spires near the edge, so it is much less riskier to take those ones.
Again, not about the risk more about the supply
It's not that I mind the % chance of them sinking
It's that if I want mass Flametal in case they add any build pieces that require it (Like how Iron is rn) then it is much more limited in supply vs Iron
iron is at least the only renewable metal afaik immediately while writing this I realised I completely overlooked black metal lol
Yea BlackMetal and Iron are renewable
Iron much less so but still Iron is used in too much stuff for the Oozers to give any amount that's enough for big builds
I doubt that will be the case, it’s an endgame resource and the game is designed with 1-10 players in mind, so realistically they should generate enough flametal for 10 players a world
They do for now, but that's what I'm afraid of in Deep North
The game already needs Iron in good supply for Plains and Ashlands
And if you're going for building with Reinforced Chests or Iron Gate Fences then gg well played
Im hoping we get some kind of mining cave dungeon with previous metals in it in deep north tbh lol
Yea I just hope they sort the Iron issue for now in some way, maybe make an Oozer spawner
Wood and Stone is easy to create farms for, Iron is almost impossible unless you cage in a whole Swamplet and wait days with an afk farm
Even then still pretty unrealistic
But either way, eh not my problem atm since the Flametal supply is enough for anything atm
Iron though, it definitely is gonna be a slight issue
No such thing as too much iron in this game unfortunately lol
Yea, the mining scenario in this game gets worse with each biome unfortunately
At least only Iron is the biggest problem
Although if using Silver Arrows, that too but much smaller of an issue
So true, we are currently building a big stone base and iron buildings are soo expensive
The game encourages you to use Hammer Mode for Iron builds atp
What us hammer mode lmao?
But Hammer Mode feels so sht to use, it makes the build feel so much less rewarding
I reccomend a lot of experimentation with trying to use as little iron as possible in builds, you want it as the spine but not the whole skeleton let’s say
Yeah building in survival is better
But you still have to unlock all the stuff
Yea I agree, which is why we need a Deep North enemy that gives scrap iron in larger quantity
The stability isnt even the expensive part, the expensive part is iron windows or stuff like that
Cuz till endgame you have enough Iron if you do Crypts, but after that, no
No crystal windows?
Crystal Windows don't give the dungeon feel
They are expensive too 😂
I guess lol
And it depends on the build on what looks better
Not rlly, Crystal is easy enough to get if you have multiple portals
Depends on the quantity
Just setup portals to many mountains, Stone Golems respawn
Oozers on the other hand, barely spawn
Once you run through the Crypts then on the surface, the Iron available is very scarce
Yeah we emptied all cripts in our near vicinity and dont nearly have enough 😂
Time to use Stone Portals
Builds are so much easier with access to Stone Portals ngl
We are just getting into mistlands, gotta progress a bit more until we get those ._.
Yeah we wont farm more iron until then
Tbh don't do too much building till you get to Ashlands
Without Stone Portals you're not hauling metal at a rapid pace
I mean you still get pretty far with a full boat
You do, but it's inherently much slower than Portalling
Yeah of course , but build breaks are great to not rush the game too much
True-ish, but for metal build specifically, it's extremely slow
Or you can just build in everything except the Iron and leave the Iron building till Ashlands
Either way, once you get Black Marble you'll want to use that
Me looking guiltily at my 70% finished plains base rn 👀
(Another limited resource)
Yeah i dont like Limited resources
Im usually the guy that builds farms around spawners to get stuff afk
Black marble sucks to get tbh
True, there aren't even that many Mists
There’s just not enough of it and I imagine I’m missing so many black marble spots because of the mists
imo start rebuilding as soon as you reach a good plains island thats a bit south, so you are closer to ashlands / mistlands areas and u can get barley/flax growing asap
you can do this b4 you reached mountains eveen
Dvergr also don't respawn, and the amount you get from Dvergr is also so low
I was kinda disappointed when I realised all the black rock in the mistlands didn’t have a chance of dropping black marble
Can you disable the wet debuff? Stamina is already pissing me off
No. If you’re rested, the effects will be less noticeable
there has to be a way
You can use a shield generator to block rain
I'm looking for a way to disable it in console
@visual apex can you roll please?
you can remove it - but it'll keep coming back. Only way to permanently remove it is with a mod
Yo wassup
Roll? As in right click + space bar?
You're going to Brazil for that
if you stay well rested and not cold at the same time while what ever is the best food for your current biome, being wet isnt so bad
bad enough!
not at all
try being wet, cold not being well rested
now thats bad
jumping around in mistlands with wet debuff is beyond annoying
and ( i ) would rather have wet debuff removed permanently
Don’t get wet, simples!
rain..
Dont go exploring when its raining?
Don't travel in rain. 😉
Mistlands is actually really nice for small makeshift cave / rock shelters
I would rather not have wet debuff removed there is plenty of other stuff to be done if it rains in one biome 😄 I just go home and do something else 😄
I'd rather not running around outside in the rain either in real live 😄 so... i go decorating my living room or go foraging in a different biome with no rain and come back when the weather is fine again 😄
"Rain rain go away..."
personal preference
😭
Roaming Mistlands in rain ironically feels better
Just means I have free fire res from Gjall at all times
Already completed the game twice.. id like to do it on my own terms this time if its possible
Hence why i was asking
I can say I’ve also completed the game thanks to my time and smiffes assistance with bosses I’ve never defeated before
If it only rains in the Mistlands I do not mind so much ... but if there is a thunderstorm i go home...with that noise I can not hear the foe in the mist and that can be deadly 😄
Just make a comfort room, plop a teleporter there and you now always have easy access to a 21 min well rested buff even in rain
With rested buffs, rain is easy af to traverse in
how do I remove my mouse cursor?
unplug mouse
Try restarting your shouldnt see a mouse when in game normally
i just realized ulvs in mountains shares the same leap that seekers do. are seekers just reskinned ulvs?
The cursor would still be visible
lol i was just joking
Sometimes spamming alt+tab couple times worked for me (windows)
I'm sure I speak for everyone when saying that none of us care about whatever happens between you two and you should (PLEASE) take it out of the server and discuss it in private
i thought this was #valheim-chat
Please take this to moderators
Please look at the age of this guys discord account to understand
dont need to say more
that says a lot ngl
I dont understand why would you bring up something that ended yesterday...
Then go to other servers to talk about it...
https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202183135232802867 plus common sense, please
And why are you starting again... it ended, leave it be man...
Because of rule n. 13 I won't talk further, but you get the point
🤦♂️
Sounds like something to take up with Discord if you have any proof. Not here.
this kind of discussion has no place in this chat
Be the one to stop it. Please.
Indeed, entirely unnecessary but still happened
Yall this is the wrong channel for this, argue in General
Stop. Now.
sigh i guess if we want to talk in peace about the game we shall have to block some people 😦
@dreamy kiln can you stop this?
let me tell you a sad story about my poor Character Bobbie... I had her stand in the swamp for 2 days at a spawner to get that much sought after draugr elite trophy
Don't pin mods lol
Don't ping mods.
Oh sorry.
she worked real hard and diligently killing draugr
who summoned me? 😄
I thought if a mod wasn't here you can ping one to fix it.
keep valheim channel valheim related please 🙂
and finally obtained one of those... only to find out that she already had an iron sledge at lvl 3 in a box... now she got two... forgetful player that I am
Sorry, my bad.
No. We use ModMail
That’s what modmail is for, don’t directly ping them
We should send DM to @dusky pivot when we need moderators assistance 🙂
I went to the ashlands for the first time with my teammate the other day and we got totally slapped. We went back and I guess she never tried to use her sword the first time because the mistwalker has no problem with the charred on this second go 😭
You make it sound like that's a bad thing
I mean the first adventures death loop was a bad thing for sure. Its just funny she went from being totally demoralized to clapping bones left and right. The confidence power boost
The corpse run buff is the real adrenaline boost.
I will need to train up my sword levels first before i can use the mistwalker properly I am a spear and club kinda gal
Big spear fan
and have you ever noticed...them trolls seem to wear black nailpolish 😄
big trolly goth gf
Black Nailpolish and spaghetti skirts are IN
i can go with the black nailpolish but I will leave the spaghetti skirts to younger gals 😄
someone teach the trolls to shave
somehow a smooth troll would be 1000% worse
shiny smooth troll
I must confess, I murder them too quickly too notice--their early game bullying has left a permanent grudge
Hey they r not bullies! They just want to help you, with getting free wood and stone
You have about 20 sec to stare at the corpse though
Spear and club gal can continue as the same with Frostner ❄️
if you employ them in coper mining you can not help but notice that they should either wash their hands more often or have a preference for black nailpolish 😄
lol
forced labor is the solution I'm hearing
"Smooth Troll" I will have nightmares because of this 😭
I culd.. but then doing all the same thing all the time is kinda boring too.. .wanna try out new stoff too... just did not remember that I wanted to do that in time to have decent sword lvls 😄
Ah right, then start with swords right away
I do not call it forced labor if they can not controll their anger and start hitting everything in sight 😄
that's true, it's at LEAST as voluntary as modern wage labor
No! They just rly want to help you out... Just in their own way
U can even ask them to mine silver for you if u rly want to get your hands in it before locating elder 🤷
I tried ribs once...Too hard.
Although watch out for the golems, last time I did that I got a LOT of help as the golems wanted to help their blue friend and I had a whole crew - troll and 3 golems
Yes but those random piles are very rare and grant very little iron - not rly time efficient imo
I am mostly to lazy to go searching the swamp with a stagbreaker... i just go kill elder 😄 he is not that hard to defeat after all 😄
But u can get easily showered with silver if u know where to look for
I did go up the mountain with the stagbreaker once to try and find early silver... my that is sooooo tedious..gimme that wishbone... bonemass is not that hard to defeat either 😄
anyone else use the valheim map generator
I tried once just to see if it's viable - those piles seem to be super rare, and you get baited by the ancient trees and rocks lying around just to dig for nothing
i dont feel like exploring that much ngl so i just use the website
Not for normal playing, no
i use it to generate a ton of maps with everything turned off just to see how big the starter island is... i hate if that is a big blob of a landmass i want an island that I have to sail from to find more stuff.
Ye I did sometime when I got upset after multiple hours of plains search for the yagluth vegvesir - those are super rare too
But the exploring part is a part of the game and I like it
But I also see how it can get annoying/boring after a while
makes sense
Once I rolled a seed where I could reach mistlands on foot xd
And It also had elder moder and queen available too
i would hate that sooooo much 😄 i am just the opposite let me go sail and brave the oceans
and while i am sailing i usually find the yag altar anyways... i guess in 3k hours of playing i found it only one time by a vegvisr
I didn't notice it at first tho, I sailed for the elder just to find a path that I could walk (it had a few "rivers" but those thin ones that u can just swim no problem) on my way back
I feel like it's 50/50 for me with what I find first...
the last yag vegvisr I found was in sight of his altar... thank you game 😄
"Doin' my part!" -That vegvisir, probably.
Queen is nearly as bad to find... had to search so many infested mines to find a vegvisr and then she is 6 islands over
In its defence, it doesn't know any better.
Hey I’m trying to find a good location for my second primary base (plains base) I found a spot that’s near the ocean and in the plains. There is also a large mistlands/mountains and swamp nearby. Is this an ideal location for a plains base?
it's solid, if you set a farm right on the mistlands/plains divide, you can farm all the crops in the game (currently) in one place--plains will grow the first 5, mistlands will grow the 2 mistlands native shrooms, and ashvines can grow in either I think
hi guys
sounds like a good spot yeah. Being close to ocean and close to mistlands is very nice
Thank you!!
Thank you! I play co-op with a friend so we are trying to figure out the best location for the second base. Our primary base could have been in a better location but wayyyyy too much time and investment has been put into that base to start again🤣
I have a question, did they add that we could place tables on the chests?
The grass is always greener on the higher side
-Snoop Dawg
i could see him saying that
He's probably said it too
probably
Mayhaps

Is deep north gonna be 1.0? If so do we have any info will we get achievements with deep north?
Yes it will be the 1.0 update and with 1.0 we will get achievements 🙂
Thank youu,awesome
So its best to wait for update than start a new world right? I mean its not worth to make new world to prepare for 1.0?
1.0 will include some content in earlier biomes so the best thing to do will be to start a new world
https://www.valheimgame.com/news/development-blog:-lighting-the-way/
We’ve still got a ways to go yet before we’re ready for that, but we’re hoping to make it a proper 1.0 package with new things to discover in early biomes as well.
We will have to wait for Deep North for quite some time 🙂 so be free to start new world now if you want to play, its quite likely you will be able to beat ashlands a few times before it arrives
Got like 800 hours in zhe game and still have no real "main world" save, plan was to prepare for deep north on new world but hearing it will change early biomes etc,not worth..gonna be better to just start. New world when 1.0 goes live
They said they gonna work on early biomes aswell
Yea i wanted the same
Have they? Don't recall that.
I am not sure if change is the right word 🤔 i would say it will be more along the lines of balancing stuff and maybe adding a few items or buildables here and there 🙂
Yeah i meant that,not change
Important distinction. One would require a new world, one wouldn't.
Yeah true, still we dont know if we gonna get new mobs, mini bosses in early biomes,or those special dungeonss, since for example swamp doesnt have one
What do ya'll think is it worth to make a new world and just explore bottom side of the map, preparing for deep north or just go new world when it releses?
The latter is what i am gonna do probably 🙂
Yeah i think thats the best move, mostly cause i enjoy earning achievemnts from beginimg, endgame gear char would feel like cheating
i ain't waiting all the way until Deep North, I already have a main 'permanent' world, and if when DN drops seems worth it to start a new world, i'll just also start one of those
First i will go through deep north in world where i have done ashlands and then once more through the whole game, new world, new char, everything 🙂
probs same
That actually sounds fun, might do the same
I would not be patient enough to go through the whole game when it drops xD
Mistlands specifically for me
Exactly! Ashlands is a pain
30 Mines before my gang found the rune (we didn't, we gave up and used world seed)
Is it?
Yea Ashlands is hard
It was for me,when it first came out it was BS
D-Day moment as a solo player
Not that hard really
I finished it on PTB
Depends on which part, for me everything after landing there was fine
I was able to do it pretty fine in ptb before nerf
Mistlands feels harder overall cuz of the amount of mines I had to do to get the Queens location
It's seed dependant tbh but the RNG really boiled my blood
Mist is harder biome yes,but adhlands was just a foghting challenge
Non stop PvE,no exploring
And i wasnt really prepared for it,no pots no food etc
Yea Ashlands is just Dark Souls Survivalcraft
As it is designed to be 🙂
And Mistlands is torture because of the terrain
Most beautiful place in the game but alas
Yes,i loved it!
I wish mistlanda had mist wheb its nightime,no mist wirh daytime..terrain is masterpiece..shame we cant admire it
Mistlands is probably by far best biome done, alongside black forrest
for sure
Depends, it's the worst biome for me tediousness wise but beauty wise it's amazing
Second worst is Swamp, most ugly Biome is also Swamp
I wouldn't mind the Swamp as much if Turnip flowers spawned more
the idea of night/day mist is interesting but would probably take too much of the point out of wisplight, I do wish they'd add another way to control mist, say a thing you build gated behind killing the Queen that clears a HUGE radius of mist, if you want an alternative to wisp torches to efficiently clear a large are of mist
It doesn't make sense lore wise for killing Queen to clear the Mist
no no, killing her wouldn't clear it
killing her would unlock a build piece that either need something you can only make with the carapace upgraded table or uses the carapace (her drop) itself
Maybe if we mine some of the Jotun remains it clears some of the Mist in the area
that build piece, built by the player, presumably costing refined eitr, wisps, maybe a blakc core who knows, would then clear a large radius of mist--like a giant more expense wisp torch
It would have to be a machine driven by Generator Core
Plains is the woooooorst for ms
that could work too
Ironically I feel Plains is really peaceful and scenic
Yes it was also the thing i suggested,it wpuld be cool if killing queen reduced mist
Best biome to settle down in after Meadows cuz of how easy the mobs are too
For me it feels so empty
Yea content wise Plains are barren
Here ans there some fulling villages and thats it,lacks something
Fuling Villages and Sealed Towers
Plains felt like the easiest biome after Meadows
Indeed
Plains is the best looking biome 😡
I don't understand the people who say "It looks peaceful but it's really dangerous"
Plains with a root harnesk is just straight chilling
Until a 2 star berserker, a shaman, and a village of angry goblins get beef with you
Only thing is that the Berserkers are mostly only found in villages
Yea black forrest is constant dwarfs ar ur doors, uaed to live there
The first time me and my friend attempted a sealed tower we were not at all prepared and got murdered like 20 times before we finally did it 😂
That's kinda mistlands vibe for me. Beautiful spires, fantasy trees, a real paradise really. And there's no danger as far as you can see
Beware though, danger is definitely lurking
Yea Mistlands is that
Plains is literally peaceful af
Yea it's cool with the rock structures around, Stonehenge etc
The villages are also pretty cool imo
The nerfed Yagluth doesn't help Plains reputation as an easy biome, he's a bit too easy
I played on hard, got to ashlands and had to change difficulty..yagluth was hard on hard difficulty
The issue with Yagluth is kind of the fact that his attack speed is insanely slow
He's just a harder version of Elder
If u don't cheese his AI by running around him (idk how ppl do that) he's definitely not an easy fight especially if mobs from a nearby area come to fight u aswell
I think yag is harder than queen
I fought him head on, didn't really feel like he was hard
i think they put on fenris, and nowadays could also use the ratatouille pot
Queen wirh bonemass is so easy
It depends on prep, if you have Barley Wine too, it becomes trivial
IMO bonemmas needs a big nerf
Yea bonemass power feels kinda busted. I banned it from my world
I do use fenris and I tried to do it but he would constantly spam attacks, while I see vids of ppl running around him and he slams no attacks
That reminds me, me and my group did Queen a while back and forgot to pop the ability 😂
One dude died instantly
I played with 3 ppl and we all uaed bonemass when it expored, she didnt stand a chance
Doing Queen solo is no joke though
Felt like cheatinf
Lots of attack patterns
Wrll u can spamm demolisher and do AOE dmg she cant reach u but u can dmg her
In melee it can be rough
With magic she's no big deal tho
Well with Magic none of the bosses are a big deal honestly
Agreed
Melee vs Queen is 💀
With melee it's not too bad
Personally I try to play without too much OP stuff, although its kinda limiting my choices on my run
Just don't be near any open spaces where she can launch u far away and if she does use feather cape
Like no bow, no atgeir, limited magic, no resistance meads, etc.
I used Knife vs the Queen, it was a tough fight but the Knife Attack speed made it much more bearable
Skol and Hati is underrated af
On my valheim in reverse run my biggest issue with queen fight was the knock back she does it does a lot of fall dmg depending on where u r
I didn't have access to feather cape at the time
I love fast attack speed weapons. Like knives, spears, and ||dual axes|| are just chefs kiss
But all the rave nowadays is about swords and maces smh
I've never actually done a sword playthrough
Swords are favoured by the Devs a lot, every biome has a strong sword in it
2h swords tho. 👌
Yeah they just seem kinda boring to me
Nah maces r definitely favored
Other than meadows yea. Plus the fact that they don't get cleave penalty is strong
No blunt resistant enemies
And the only one that effectively counters sword is Mistlands cuz all the mobs have resistance but even there it's basically all melee that's nerfed
Well some, but not in a noteworthy way
Eh, Mistlands enemies are
Ive gone without a bow this run but I'll be picking up the crossbow. Just need to find 3 more cores
Even with the mistlands enemies if u have Krom or mist Walker or high sword skill the resistance doesn't matter at all from my experience
I've recently come to realize how strong spear is if you have decent skill in it. Like you just throw a spear at an enemy, it staggers them, then you run up autoequip the spear and kill them while they're staggered
But I thought you said maces
Ye spears are good for lower biome enemies
Higher biome too
Mistlands are resistant to all phys damage
I mean even then, Maces have Frostner
Although spears don't get much love other than being cheap af to make
Ive tried spears as my range weapon this playthrough but I keep losing them and I find the throw accuracy kinda bunk
Spears are good always.
Yea I know but specifically Maces so Idk why you took examples of swords
uhh
I mean anyway
Idk 😶
Frostner is still effective any two ways
I haven't been liking spears in Ashlands, but all other biomes they've been pretty chill
Frost is insanely strong in endgame
Need the lightning one.
Literally the only reason I still up my bow skill in the endgame is Frost Arrows, I don't think I would use it much otherwise aside from Gjalls
The handicap that all melee enemies get from Frost is crazy, imagine Deep Norths Frost now
I tried it, wasn't bad. But I wouldn't often get staggers when throwing it so I found it better using axes.
Although I can't lie: Throwing a lightning spear, staggering the enemy, and then having lightning proc which does extra damage due to the stagger feels so good
Oh if you're throwing then spears can definitely feel meh.
Lightning spear combined with the fact spears have the highest attackspeed in the game is near-constant AoE procs. It's not even about the weapon damage at that point. You just become a full-on melee elemental.
Himminafl moment
Are they? I tried a while back it felt like the axes had more procs due to part of its combo doing double hits
Better than Himmin 😄
I hope dn enemies r immune to lightning, Frost, resistant to fire, blunt, neutral to rest & bows get their own bow damage stat so spears and Atgeirs r usable for more than cc
I was devastated that I couldn't get a blood knife in ashlands though. Those sneak attacks woulda been nasty
But I suppose blood crossbow is alright
Blood crossbow sneak attacks 💯
Knives and Fists are weak af rn
Knives are only weak cuz Skol Hati is the last one you get, if they added another after it they would be good
I’m confident we’ll get a Deep North knife. I wonder if Ashland gems will be usable on Deep North weaponry? 🤔
my musings exactly
Not all enemies in Ashlands are pierce resistant tho.
I hope they won't be better than deep North weapons
Unless they introduce new magical effects or more powerful versions
I hope they add an Ashlands Knife too while they're at it, it makes no sense that there is no Knife
i doubt it. Feel like they'll want more unique stuff.
Wouldn't exclude the option of new gems or just weapoans with inherent perks in Deep North though (different from the perks we've seen in Ashlands so far)
fists seem like joke afterhought category but they added the not ENITRELY bad and definitely sick looking fenris claw
And Fists too man, why do we only have Barefist and Claws
We need an Assassins Creed Dagger
tbh I once skipped from mountains to Mistlands and fenris claw did WORK against seekers. Easily staggering them with the secondary
Or maybe a Tonfa (Idk if that counts as fists but eh)
if it's a 3.5e monk weapon, it counts as 'fists'
Real
The fact that we don't have knuckle dusters is also crazy
I wanna beat stuff to death
HUGE missed opportunity for LITERAL bronze knuckles
Spicy take, but I’m not a huge fan of the enchanting system. I hope they scrap it for deep north? But I think it’s here to stay 🤔
Apparently knuckles aren't Viking enough but Claws are
“The bronze kneecap!”
you mean like re-work how gems are utilized to enhance things?
I miss playing valheim. Think I'm going to spark up a server or two
What don't you like in it
My base is starting to get big enough to cause lag 😦
You can't ever miss playing Valheim when it's right there for you to lift up😉
time to break it up into a series of bases spread across the map interlinked by portals!
If I have 2 2 star boars will they produce more 2 star boars or is it random
yes offspring always inherit stars of one of the parents
They produce 2 stars only afaik
Does the 2 star wolf bug still exist btw?
No no, I mean I hope they don’t utilize the enchanting system for deep north. Sorry, bad wording on my part lol
Its spread over a decent sized chunk of land. The lag only happens in the kitchen/magic workshop building
But, I mean why
ahhh,
I think i have too many glowy sparkly things in one room
It's a decent system
I think having weapons with unique features is more interesting than blanket enchantments. I see the pros/cons of each option, but I just prefer the more unique weaponry is all 🙂
I see the point but personally for me, I just see every enchanted weapon as it's own thing
Like yea Blood Slayer is similar to Primal Slayer but inherently I just see them as 2 different weapons
For example, I don’t think anyone is out here using the Jade Slayer 🤔
Nah, Tai Lung is using Jade Fists
Agreed. I'd rather just have unique weapons than enchantment paths
I am the Jade Slayer, Beast of Vengeance, Maker of Widows
I felt kinda mixed on the enchanting. I feel like it was an ashlands only thing tho
I've said already that if deep north is getting weapons with unique effects, they should be effects designed specifically for that weapon instead of effects that can be applied to anything
Actually I just realized I said Tai Lung instead of Kai
Mfw even I forgot who Kai is (my Goat didn't deserve it)
😭
tai lung is pretty baller tho
he would be using jade tho to replicate his pressure point special move
I mean yea, Slayer, Nidhogg Splitnir don't feel like they have an identity
Like with previous weapons you could say "I'm a Frostner main" or something
How tf do you even say you're a "Slayer user" or a "Splitnir user"
I just like the ripper
I'm trying to figure out how I wanna approach Ashlands this run (only at swamp now, but looking forward)
My main concern is dealing with groups of enemies because I'm banning atgeir, bow, and most magic.
I'm thinking a 2-hand hammer or greatsword could be nice maybe? Anyone have luck with demolisher or Krom in ashlands?
Krom shreds
Krom special can stagger warriors and then you can restagger with krom auto, silver sword also pumps out damage too
Scales, is your name supposed to be like scales from a serpent scale shield, or one of these ⚖️?
The people need to know
🐉 scales
Dragon expression?
Demolish 'er.
Ember staff go boom
As a lightning shotgun user I find this very offensive
I havnt found any lightning shotguns yet. I'm still slowly experiencing mistlands and building neato things everywhere
Oh my bad
However someday I hope to find that lightning shotguns also go boom
Anyone else find krom rather disappointing? I wish it was more horizontal
If I wanted to line up enemies directly ahead for an attack I'd just just the stab move
krom best weapon
(we need a happy version of this emoji!!)
Is it really? Maybe I just need more practice
Silver sword is very good in ashlands. It does more damage than mistwalker against charred with less stamina cost
2h swords are cool, I rather use them nowadays than 1h.
I can never warm up to those bug two handers.. none of them does work for me really..they are good weapons in the right hands ... just not in mine 😄
I think it looks great. But I miss most of my swings
how
Not even atgeirs?
Jump pots + feather cloak + ember staff. Nuke it from orbit
i use atgeirs honestly to do damage through dvergr doors and not much else 😄 I usually run around with clubs and spear and fleshrippers/knifes...
the first atgeir i make is the blackmetal one to use in the infested mines until I can get himminjafl 😄
Is himminjqfl an atgeir? I assumed it was a spear and never built it
it is
Oh boy!
I also use Iron atgeir all the way up to mistlands because u can stagger just about the same amount of mobs with black metal one
Time to build a new weapon
Found the weirdest generation today, got a surtling spawner in the middle of a Black Forest and fairly far up the hillside and then on the map it shows a little pond on the island that is apparently swamp but then when you go there it’s Black Forest and there’s copper and it’s also fairly elevated, world was generated in the latest or previous patch
Yes, there is also carapace spear.
Himminafl is really good even in Ashlands.
Other than that though this island is the perfect location for my endgame mountain castle
Himminafl is perfect for Ashlands 🙂
Himminafl is so satisfying to use
Found a plains village in the middle of meadows last night
Himminafl feels terrible to me
It is just a little noisy... my gosh that audio is loud when you use it...they could tone that down a bit in my opinion 😄
The damage numbers to me are nothing impressive but the sound design and just the look of the weapon is great
himminafl safest weapon for reto if u don't have magic or gemstone weps
Yes, Himminafl to keep those rolly polly bois on line #memes-and-clips message.
Yeah that video demonstrates the power of atgeirs and the himminafl in particular very well, with perfect read you could go hitless against a morgen
I find with berserker axes I always have to sacrifice taking a hit or two to get the combos in
Sweet mother of God! Wtf is that creature
Yes, especially when those are weak against lightning damage. 🌩️
I usually go mage i do love it way better to keep that morgan at a distance rolling over the asksvin and charred like a tumbleweed 😄
Do you use the dundr?
That is, what we call, a Morgen.
I have not found enough gems to make everything yet... clearing fortresses is hard work 😄 and i got a lot of recording to do... so i did make dundr and the trollstav and the staff of the wild (and embers and frost) and have been trying them out...trollstav is hilarious against valkyires... I wish i could watch in peace but there is always charred around and other buggers 😄
yea same thats why i dont use em on harder difficulties
even with high axe skill its scary :/
but sometime swap to them to execute a twitcher
To me himmin afl just feels bad for the same reason as the rest of the atgeirs. They have so much knock back and stagger that you can just sit in place and press the same button every few seconds. Doesn’t feel very engaging
The standard attack on it is alright though, but nothing special
I find that really cements its role as the perfect weapon to use when swarmed by enemies on all sides though, you can really get into the middle of the action
they’re more ‘positional play against multiple enemies’ than other weapons
I’d say they’re less so about positional play. With atgeir you can sit anywhere maybe walking a bit between attacks and enemies won’t be able to get to you. With other weapons you gotta position right to not make yourself get hit from multiple sides at once
Most weapons are just s to backstep and keep your enemies in a cone in front of you, atgeirs you need to find terrain where you are both in the centre and enemies will get hit by the aoe so you don’t want them being below you in height
i think more people are struggling with the spear than with the atgeir 😄
anyhow...me gotta go hit the hay...have a good night
I think taking on a fuling village is the best example, you can’t really go guns blazing into the centre of a fuling camp with any other weapon other than atgeirs and endgame ashlands lightning weapons
goodnight morgana
Nah most people struggling with staff of embers. Impossible to use unless 2000 IQ
gn
agree 100%
I struggle with magic personally, I didn’t find it too enjoyable last time I used it and haven’t used it since, I died a lot
kite playstyle, yea not for every1
I don't like it without skills in the 40's so I build a blood and a ele magic farm, and when its around 40 I use it and it works well
Elemental magic farm is extremely easy to do
Blood farm less easy / more annoyingly slow
true
still haven't build a 100% perfect one
I keep away from skill farms for the most part because I find it gets me unmotivated to play after
The only skill farm I like is running around because I explore the map while I do that
understandable, but ele farm is so freakin quick and easy really
running away always has to be highest skill 🙂
Lvl 74 run 🏃💨
Same
You can't skill farm by punching rocks anymore eh
im not sure why run/swim/jump is in the game
Run and jump are my 2 highest skills and really improve the player experience for me personally
yea they are great but for example, why not add sailing then to skills, so you can sail faster
I can’t imagine having them at lvl 0 in the endgame, I dread to think what mistlands is like without minimum level 40-50 in both by then
sailing skill would fit the same logic as run, to me
the way pickaxe and axe skills are done is also kinda questionable
A sailing skill to improve your ability to steer a ship would be really nice though
yea im just not 100% on how skills are decided
as far as I see it I don’t see there any point right now in sailing more than you need to which is to make landfall on an island for the first time or take metals and other non teleportables back pre stone portals,
imo they should have something like "cardio" instead of "run"
yea i agree sailing is fine
What game has a cardio skill?
I guess it’s usually called endurance or just flat out stamina
yea endurance
agility
Agility would be a very different skill.
but also imo, i think they should just have "dexterity" and jump/swim/run all fits into that
Based on player interpretation, imo how fast you can run and how high you can jump could easily go into one agility skill but at the same time I’m not against the current implementation
How about a skill skill which is every skill in one skill?
and all of those actions (swimming, running, jumping) together lvl the skill
yea exactly
And you would have it at 100 just around swamps...
Swim is my second lowest skill at lvl 7 currently with fishing at lvl 5, excluding lvl 0 skills
tweak the xp gain rate
Why when we have the skills we have now?
lmao yea i think swim is like lvl 1 or something always for me
we're just talking about possible revisions to the current skill tree
possibly making it make more sense
bruh I’m so confused an asksvin somehow managed to escape my enclosure for them? It’s literally built with stone arches at the top so I have no clue how he got out
like how #memes-and-clips message
asksvin cat heritage confirmed
turned into a liquid, and slid through a seam in the wall
Maybe a random egg spawned outside of it? When I bred askvins I treated them like wolves and just let them roam around. Collected eggs and let them hatch near base then released em back into the wild
Nothings broken and the gate was closed the only possibility I am seeing is the egg was hatched too close to the edge
yeah I’m thinking that must be it
Or they could tower on each other 🤔 but that would need to be all of them
I have had it happen with chickens my very first pair of chickens one of them was too close to the iron fence and spawned on top of it, being turned into a burnt baby chicken nugget immediately
yeah I’ve had like 15 asksvins in there before and they still never figured it out so there’s no way 5 could have
then probs the bugged egg 🙂
Possible that it was render thing? Allowing the Askvin to move before a given wall was rendered.
axe or woodcutting?
some of the skills feels very "yea just put this for now and we'll think about it more later"
Hello! I have a dope lodge, but the resting bonus flickers alot, is it because i'm using cross beams as walls?? I'm always near a fire, and always sheltered, but they don't always result in the level 4 rest i should be getting...
tbh i expect they will change it for 1.0
The things that give comfort have certain radius 🙂 so if they are not close enough to each other you will go through diferent areas and lvl of comfort
does the bed itself provide the first 4 comfort/??
Flickering how? Like you will lose resting as you walk around the house, or you will lose it while standing still, or you won’t lose it but it but it will go down in level as you walk around?
if i get given a seed number how do i join someone elses game?
i have 0 decoration, the only things in the house are the wood panels and a bed and a fire pit, i imagine the bed must be providing the only resting radius...
just very inconsistent
bed provides one, fire one, being in shelter near fire two
Okay so let’s look at the pickaxe skill, it increases damage pick axes do, axe skill increases the damage axes do in the description, wood cutting skill increases damage axes do against trees, but pickaxes don’t have a mining skill that increases damage against rock and ore, that’s the pickaxe skill, which the axe equivalent is for enemies only
Axe Skill - Increases damage dealt by axes
Woodcutting skill - Increases damage done by axes against trees
Pickaxe skill - Increases damage done by pickaxes against rock and ore
Mining skill - doesn’t exist, should be the name of the above skill
yea thats fair
S tier endgame activity - go back to previous biomes and spawn trolls and 🍿
That's not how that works. You'll need either an IP or a join code. The seed would just allow you to create a new world the same.
we don't need a mining skill
Pickaxes are not suposed to be used as weapons tho (maybe with exception of 1 enemy), axes are
we need the pickaxe skill to be renamed to mining and have a scaling % chance to drop an extra unit of the resource mined (so it works on stone, black marble, grausten, etc. too), and woodcutting to have a scaling % change to drop extra wood
and the Elder power to increase the drop rate of seeds
i want dance skill, the more u dance, the more dances u can do
until that is added, i dont consider nthe game 1.0
Gems mining should produce gems randomly and more so as the skill improves
You know what that’s literally the best idea I’ve ever heard that hasn’t been added yet
No 1.0 without cats 😤
Why add even more rng to mining?
Also I’ve just been thinking and the max lvl 2 gem weapons seems very intentional maybe so players don’t invest too many gems in one weapon without experimenting
max for now, or ever?
Wouldn’t having more layers of randomness just make the random feel more random
think in the end they'll be consistent with other weapons max upgrade level, and yeah random gem chance SUPER love
it'd be kinda funny to roll it when you're in like the black forest
That's the problem
and you get the this random stone, and you're like "what is this for?" and you don't get an answer until many many biomes later
alternatively, you could just make it ONLY roll the chance after a gate, like killing the queen or something
realism wise, zero sense, but mechanics wise would do the job if intended to keep it unavailable until late (around the time you'd have actual use for the gems)
There shouldn't be any chances being rolled
or make it part of queen ability
yeah or this
I like slot machines too Archon
technically all the gems already are 100% RNG based
I think it's theoretically entirely possible if astronomically unlikely you 'roll' zero gems entirely in all the 20 forts in a world
Indeed. Server I'm on now won't drop iolites
because IIRC there's no minimum/guaranteed gems
There is. The minimum guaranteed is 0.
I think about scenarios for group play. These gems become a huge problem
How's your day Derek
I wonder if deep north will have the solution to the gem problem
Endgame Lightning enemies?
Dunno, we did raise it.
Fix? It's not technically broken.
You only fix something that's broken, the number of gems you can get in a single world is very much intended (not broken)
Lol fair play. How can the gem drops be improved to give sustainability to group play? With consideration to how that affects solo
On average you should get around 20 gems of each type if you raid every single fortress, That's enough to craft gear for a team of 4-5 players
Even more considering that you absolutely don't need to craft and especially upgrade every single weapon variation, even more for each single player
I don’t see it on the wiki, how much mana does it take to cast staff of the wilds
That's good insight Rianu
guys i just bought the game!!
i used to play it on gamepass but now im officially an owner on steam
got it for 5$ on sale
so does flametal not sink anymore orr did I unintentionally portal glitch the last few I mined?
It went from 10% chance to 1%
Hm, didn't even know it was currently on sale.
woah!
I was on the weekend i believe 🙂
At $5? That would be a record.
The prices can vary country to country i think 🤔 it was 50% for me iirc
i'm from mena, and yes it's a historical low, i had an error purchasing it and steam gave me 3 more days to purchase
I’m a little late to the conversation, but when it comes to enchanting stones, what if they were rare loot from magmafish? 🤔
that could work i guess. It'd also give more people a reason to level up their fishing game.
Yeah, pop that in #suggestions 😄
Definitely a decent idea.
But the issue as we've said is whether they even see it as a problem.
I think I’ve dabbled with the idea before, but I guess I’ve never posted it 🤔 sure, I’ll write it up later and throw it the ring!
whats worse than dying and then after respawning in your base a troll raid starts and your best gear is in a dangerous biome aka the plains
Dying on a permadeath run 😔
Definitely keep your gear from previous biomes though to have at least some backup gear when you die
Only worse if it is because a tree fell on your head.
that troll armor coming in handy
even worse if it was in your tree farm
I’m curious what the second one is?
I've been in the Ocean for 2 hours trying to find a serpent and still haven't even found one
I want that sweet serpent meat
Are you there at daytime or night time?
Both, i've been sailing non-stop for 2 hours
haven't left the waters
They only spawn at night or during storms (although if spawned during a storm, they'll stick around forever until killed)
I get the struggle though, sometimes they just don't want to be found
Getting some serpent meat for conquering swamp and mountain is hella nice. I still gotta figure out a way to get me some serpent meat on my current run
spent 2 nights on the waters and still no serpent
I can get raided twice in the same hour but can't find a single serpent in 2 full nights spent in the water
Dang, unfortunate luck for sure.
Just like yesterday I went hunting for boar to stack up on beef jerky, got 2 boars in 50 minutes
Hello epzilon
Hello Bozman
Hello Snail
Oh cool my game crashed and it caused me to spawn all the way back to where we turned around while my friend is on our boat docked at our base
I'm just chilling in the water
Do you think Moder is easier than bonemass atleast that’s what I think
I found a Mistlands Lighthouse I am planning to land at, any suggestions for making the trip safer?
fenrir cape
Never enough time in a day
Nothing like that in the game...
As long as you don't piss off the Dvergr over there, it's pretty safe to land at.
Haven’t slept at all this run 😔
Only like 10 days in though
This kind of thing happen to anyone else?
wdym, the fenris cape is real, I just made a typo
lmao nice. I actually had something similar yesterday, althuogh its kinda rare to have these occurences. I had a plains village spawn in a field of meadows
I've seen screenshots of a single tile swamp in the meadows or plains. So it has happened to other players too, although in this case it's quite nice.
how wo u get load of seeds for tree farm for u wood needs
As far as i know there Is no cape that has fenris in name, there Is Wolf, troll, linnen, etc, but no fenris/fenrir cape. There Is fenris set consisting of hood, coat and leggings tho
