Yeah, first decision should be if you have higher sword or clubs level 😄 that way its frostner or Silver/BM swords, and between those its just "which one do i have materials for?" 🙂
most of the time they work fine, but sometimes yea they just disappear
If I recall I think I remember doing numbers and seeing that silver sword is the best weapon vs yagluth for damage, however it's just about the only thing silver sword is good for, frostner is slightly less vs yagluth but way better for other things
How can I find my worlds seed without using a dedicated server 💀
it should display the seed before you load into the world
in the world selection screen
Yeah, iirc its 1) Silver sword 2) Frostner 3) BM sword 🙂
We're far past that
i thought thats just how the game is supposed to work?
are you on a dedicated server? or private?
Private
log out, look at the seed
then log out and look for it and log back in 😄
Oh 💀
Where would I see it?
right next to the world name
Mkay
I do love a lot how the feasts do look eaten from after you use them 😄 like have a pie left and the meat getting less 😄 very nice touch
oh do they? i havent eaten them enough to see a difference
or havent been paying attention
I just ate the second time from the plains one and now the pie is only half in the middle 😄
I wasn't particularly impressed with the stats on the early feasts so mostly ignored them this playthrough. I got the mats for mistlands feast and suddenly I'm very impressed again
they are pretty nice for just casually doing base stuff
They are, but casually doing base stuff I'd rather stam heavy foods than balance
However the mistlands feast is a huge load of stats while being balanced, and I think even if you're not doing an eitr build it's still more raw stats than other foods of the time
i do have 2 powders i havent figured out how to use yet
You might have to make normally cooked meats or cook cauldron recipes you never made before to unlock them
maybe
Cause mistlands feast required both cooked seeker meat and yggdrassl porridge, and I has made neither until I got the powder and found I couldn't use it yet
ive never cooked a seeker meat so thats probably it
Do it the mistlands feast is very worthwhile. It's like, 65 hp and stam, 33 eitr
35 maybe. It's very good
If you find you can't make a thing with the powder yet start making all the foods from that biome that you can which you haven't made yet
Eventually you'll unlock the recipe
arbalest is my favorite .. with practice youcan kill deathsquitoes and fulings at 300 yards sniper weapon
Deathsquitos I've become a master at slashing them right as they're about to sting me
been looking for a feast with eitr
i wonder what the ashlands one takes, can you cook an askvin tail?
||full recipe so you know what to make for the unlock.
The mistlands powder from bog witch
3 cooked seeker meats
1 mistlands hare supreme
1 yggdrassl porridge||
you can in fact cook askvin tail
i didnt know feasts give 10 eats out of each feast, so i made 5 of every feast, ill be stocked for a while
i need to make my table bigger
Building a forward outpost in the ashlands... i am usually none to build terrain walls...but man if you want to get some respite you gotta or you'll be fighting constantly 😄
even went to the exteme to put up stakes and a ballista to shoot charred 😄
rats im out of jelly
Oh man, I'm gonna hate the ashlands already, I can feel it. I'm too lazy for proper building lol
And I just killed the queen too (British secret services, so you know, I am talking about a video game)
Wow... i died right on the terrain wall.. overlooked that blob that was behind me 😦
not rly
they are basically in every dvergr structure
same with the lanterns
and they dont even mind if you take them
wait enemies in infected mines respawn?
Ah ok
uh
this is slow going... i wanted to make sure i have a ash1 Portal to come back to if things go bad while i am exploring...so i need to build at least some defence... and now i need to stop doing stuff that pushes my adrenalin up... need to sleep soon 😄
need to stop spending my gold im running out ( i still have 8k gold)
oh these barrels are pretty cool
Is there a bug at the moment where throwing black marble on the ground means it vanishes?
I've had 2 separate instances of throwing like, the odd 1 black marble out of my inventory only temporarily, only for it to completely vanish instantaneously.
Both times it happened near modified soil
anyone got suggestions on how to decorate my house? (killed bonemass) #building-screenshots
Build.
If not happy, delete and rebuild.
Repeat until happy.
im happy i just dont know what other decorations
the valheim wiki has a list of decoration items that increase your rested buff, you might wanna look into that to get the best out of a good nights sleep
ive got 9 whats the max?
uh...i think 18 with all the seasonal items? something like that
DAMN
14 is always my target.
got it to 12 using only a throne
oh ive got to be sat in the throne for 12, standing up ive got 10
14 gives you an exact daylight timer.
ive got a deer rug, banner, regular table, hearth, armor stand, dragon bed and stone throne
idk what else to add
Once you have Tar you can build a better table, or add the Hot Tub (which is +2 by itself)
any other items i can add at my level? not killed moder yet
Wiki has a full list of all comfort items.
You should be able to gather tar from the plains, you don't need to kill moder to do that
cant find the comfort items tbh
You don't need to sit on it, it just needs to be nearby to count
And that gives a bit more comfort
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Comfort
Very difficult to locate...
My hens woohoo time got interrupted by a skeleton surprise
searched it up didnt show up
oh you mean REALLY close okay
placed a log down next to myself and i get max 12 🤔
I don't it's just that all of the items that gives comfort needs to be within a certain distance
Finally got the cores, need 3 more seals
oh its because ive got a chair
gotcha, i was outside under my base, placed the log and got to 12, placed it inside my base and it stayed at 10 😭
i hit 13 okay
Is there any particular reason my hens won't leave the corner?
my stone throne breaks itself for no reason lol??
Can't be placed on wood without support from iron or stone
It's not connected to the ground or stone
i somehow managed to do that tho
okay i put a pillar under the floor, placed the stone seat next to my bed and stuck at 11 restng
As in, you can place it but it will immediately break
but when i stand up i hit 13 immediately
yup yup simply put some stone under the thing youre trying to put it on
You will never have the maximum rested bonus everywhere but you want it somewhere and you just go by that spot at one point to get it before you leave the base
I'm like Sevrahn, rather than going for the max I shoot for 14 comfort to get exactly 21 minutes
Like I know I can get more than that, I just choose not to
Hellooooo
@daring mountain u got mods?
world modifers or just mods?
i have 0 mods
Then what Smiffe recommended in the other channel is your best bet.
alright sounds good
couple 2 star askvin should be able to handle most things that fall in my trench i think
im always out of sap
The trolstav is the single best peice of woodfarming equipment
It’s great for mining too
Right I'm getting salty now, some items just disappear from the floor in areas they shouldn't
I just lost 5 black cores because a seeker destroyed a black forge through a wall and they've just vanished. All other mats are fine, but no cores
Can't be losing cores. That's not on
HI
low
Unless you’re putting them in a bonfire
🎆
i want to play with anyone
@errant knoll if they are vanishing you could summon them in with console commands, because yea they shouldnt be just disappearing like that
It might be a weird thing on steam deck where I can't see them for some reason, I've noticed draw distance just seems stupidly low for everything. Maybe the black cores have phased inside a wall?
I checked the floor beneath
I have had weird things in this place before where not enough refined eitr would be on the floor when I got back, and later some would just randomly be sitting outside the top floor
So it could be that it will show up mysteriously on the outside later
the only bug ive been constantly experiencing, is when i try to build i have to right click several times because it will just not keep the build menu open. but that could be a mod i have on causing that
and loose items aren't merging together so that 1 loose item actually holds multiple?
i love making basements but its SO annoying to do
staff of the wild is a lot of fun once you upgrade it a few times
5 tenticles is kinda op
did someone say tentacles
Technically no.
yeahh unfortunate that one
for some reason my "resting" buff keeps going on and off even tho im not moving at all
i continue to have fire and shelter but resting is not constant
finallyyyyy got all the seal breakers
Why is it that ashlands skeletons aren’t weak to blunt damage?
maybe from their warrior background they are used to blunt dmg
Balancing
How are y’all able to thrive In Ashland’s as a melee character? As melee player it’s ridiculously difficult
it is difficult, it gets easier as you learn the enemies better
off to try the queen
Atgeir, arbalest (ranged but i'm just assuming ur non-magic), mistwalker with buckler
I go 3stamina but if you're struggling i'd go 2hp 1stamina for food, bring lingering stam meads/hp meads
Like every other biome, simply jumping over everything works against many enemies
There might be enemies nearby that are aggroing then de-aggroing
dumbass skeleton army raid killed my beloved lox
ah yes that is quite the dilema
in case anyone was wondering, i've just confirmed that a tamed animal will NOT eat from a food placed by the serving tray. i used hungry askvin with a placed vineberry cluster. he wouldn't eat it
i did my initial Ashlands stuff with a mage build. But at least with Ashlands gear, I've found melee to be fine. Faster against a lot of mobs. I've settled into exploring as melee, and then taking fortresses as a mage.
i'm also not particularly good with melee lol
I enjoyed Ashlands melee because with 3 Ashlands health food you get ~160 stamina, loved parrying and fighting everything
I've been doing HHS. Ashlands weapons eat a lot of stamina.
HSS
Damn... Double Krom crafting
What do you need 280 stamina for?
what do you need 200 hp for?
For dodging and attacking. How else am I going to kill enemies?
Parrying starred Ashlands enemies
why parry when you can just be proactive with the atgeir
Also it’s 300 HP
Because that costs more stamina
More health means I can be bad at the game more frequently, so parrying is a preferable choice
You’re using atgeir in ashlands? I have a lvl 3 himinafl and it wasn’t particularly effective
i'm pretty bad at the game, so i feel this. But, i need more stamina to attack more since i'm bad
How is more attacking bad?
lmao
yk I'll hate myself for it but I'm absolutely gonna build myself a whole ass fortress in the ashlands at some point
or at the very least a black marble tower with some basic needs
smarter to use an existing fortress as your base foundation at least. high, invulnerable walls are hard to beat
I moved my entire base to the ashlands once, big ol fucking black marble castle.
i hate lava blobs
i use two health if i have heavy armour
if i have heavy armour i'm going to use a shield and parry, if i have light armour i'm going to dodge, if i have magic i'm going to run away.
I built a small stone castle wall in Ashlands for my first base, but it was on a side island so I never used it, then I just used cleared out charred fortresses with portals inside on the mainland
i feel i have found that 3 eitr foods for a full mage build is basically the best, am i false.
I like 2 eitr 1 stamina if I use magic, which is rare
I preferred 2 eitr and 1 health or stamina, although maybe 2 eitr and mistlands feast would be good
2 eitr, 1 stam here also
With a staff of protection, health does nothing, or at least isn’t as useful as stamina.
and 1 health food won't really make a difference imo, if your bubble is down
That’s true, I just choose whichever I feel like
well, assuming mage gear. maybe if you're heavy armor + magic
which would be weird imo
shouldn't be, hp food on mage does nothing
I don’t use health as a mage
I’ve had fun with root chest+carapace helmet+himmalf+mage gear in mistlands, although that’s better with one of each food
hybrid...🤢
when i'm playing mage all i want is more mana regen. but i can appreciate trying a hybrid build. i've thought about it
As a mage you're already a hybrid, nothing is stopping you from going melee with 2E 1S
the fact that i don't want to is stopping me 😎
as a mage I already tend to hybrid as melee when I'm waiting on my eitr regen
i just run
sometimes you just gotta put down the fireball staff and pick up the himminafl
More of an aggressive mage: run in, atgeir stagger, start spamming magic, hopefully don’t die because staff of protection and defensive armor
why the himminafl, that sounds sketch to use if you have mage armour.
former atgeir main before I unlocked eitr-weave armor
also stagger goes hard when it works, definitely gonna swap to berserkir axes though once I get flametal
I'd to introduce you to atgeir special attack
With a staff of protection active, the armor doesn’t matter with a melee weapon
Secondary attack for knockbacking and staggering enemies I presume.
if you're out of mana there's like a 50% you either have no bubble, or don't have the ability to replenish it in a pinch, which is not exactly the go ahead to throw yourself into the fray with melee, and with a heavy weapon that slows you down when you're wearing light armour.
Atgeir are just -5% movespeed?
yes
i don't remember that, why tho.
Why wouldn’t they be? It’s just a small blade on a stick
Practice good eitr/stamina habits and that won't happen to you
nah half the time if I'm out of mana it's just because I threw out 4 fireballs back to back and my rested buff ran out a few seconds ago, sometimes it's better to fall back to your melee
i think they used to slow you down more before hearth & home
...yeah...if you're out of mana...you can't be perfect.
Correct
It's not that hard to just tell yourself to not go below like 50 eitr idk man
idk i never wanted to use them
and if you're managing to let your bubble break when you run out of mana, you've seriously fucked yourself up
having a high knockback weapon with good staggering is a good thing to keep enemies off you when wearing squishy gear and have low HP
for me as soon as the bubble breaks it's fight or flight, either stagger the hell out of whatever is about to tear me a new one or run until my bubble is back up
have you seen the ashlands my guy lol.
Just avoid the enemies yknow, all 30 of them.
Brother, i've literally killed fader with no buffs
I know exactly what the ashlands is all about
and so there are many occasions where i use every bit of mana to finish the job quickly when things are hairy, and then the last few enemies are a bit easier to dodge and avoid..
ngl I was incredibly surprised to see that the fireball staff was still effective in the ashlands
honestly, it's even more effective than before due to the fire spreading on the ground
is that a new thing
Staff of embers
In ashlands there’s fire, or any biome with the world modifier enabled
In Ashlands most sources of fire will burn wood and on the ground
🫨 fire spread specifically from the staff of embers..
i hadn't notice it before and it kinda destroyed me a couple times recently
feather cape and only eitr food and all that..
Low health, 2x damage from fire, low armor, the ground is burning
I’d imagine that’s not exactly a stable state of existence
yeahh
Staff of protection
👍
I take it this hellish troll cave lookin thing is a putrid hole
it is occasionally annoying to constantly have to monitor that so i don't get killed by stubbing my toe.
My friend got really mad playing mage in the Fader fight, he kept getting hit by meteors, then dying through staff of protection to fire damage
Not 100% related, but it was funny
The meteors and the aoe they leave are separate hits, so one breaks the bubble and the other deals damage, just like any other situation where you’d get hit twice in a short time.
That was the most noticeable situation because meteors was all he got hit by, so the main way he was surviving in the rest of the Ashlands did basically nothing in that fight
Just died like +20 times before finally killing fader.
I cannot blame lag anymore now that I have a gaming laptop, I just suck lol
Just curious, what was gettin ya?
i died 3 times first time i fought him, never actually died that much to a boss except for bonemass
Early guess is meteors/fissure, seems like a lot of people struggle with that
I’ve nearly died a few times getting stuck under his head with fissure about to start below me
Panic jumping/rolling has always barely saved me though
The constant aoe spam.
But mostly due to fire dmg (because it stacks quickly) + the frequent barrage of other enemies joining.
Even needed to be careful with the archer summons. I will continue saying this: One or two archers raining down arrows on you might not be much, but a whole squad of them doing it will certainly make a difference in hp remaining.
That whole dmg accumulates and usually outdamages your healing
did you do a large amount of running
magic or melee?
This happened many times but I didn't die to it. They were still moments of panic tho
Melee mostly, and using Eikthyr as often as I could
..eikthyr huh..
Root harnesk, if you were going into this blind you would have no way of knowing but Fader does some piercing damage, also helps with the archers
Eikthyr + feather cape + lightfoot for 0% jump stamina cost is as broken as it sounds. Jumping won’t even interrupt stamina regen
I tried using the wild staff but iirc, they made it so meteors target the vines so trying to stun lock fader stopped being a valid strategy (unless maybe trying with other nature weapons)
I did go as blind as possible.
Either way, he barely used melee attacks and the moments he did I just dodged.
It was the aoe spells that did the trick
The spam is more annoying that yagluth's but I still liked fighting him while I still hate fighting yagluth
The fact that fader's theme fucking slaps is a key factor
ye they cooked on the whole ashlands ost
the way his theme builds up when he's crashing in on his meteor and then bam it pops off chefs kiss
It's just... So peak 🥹
eitr weave and fenris, combined at last, I got my first piece of embla
I created a "greydwarf spawner + archer skeletons" grinder to level up blood magic. Because I want to be able to raise a skeletons with just one eitr food, instead of two.
.... holy hells the leveling is slow. the grinder has been running now, probably for 7+ hours, and the skill is now 38. 47+ should apparently be the target.
ngl that's the only mistlands staff I just completely ignored
they're great for distracting enemies..
Necromancy is fun, but not as effective as arson
I'm just gonna wait til I get a single bloodstone then start razing every structure in sight to the ground with trolls
Troll+necromancy+arson staff is very effective
god damn, landing right next to a dvergr camp in the ashlands was a godsend
got 18 flametal ore by just walking over there and arsoning the crates, all the dvergr died by the time I finished building my shitty outpost lol
aww man...i always spare the blue guys
They don’t last long in the Ashlands with or without player attacking
Hey - the wiki doesn't seem to say how long the staff of protection's armor lasts, but speaks about refreshing a duration. Any idea how long it is?
normally I just let em vibe, but my inexplicable compulsion to steal their extractors every time I saw a crate in the mistlands has led me to feel much less sympathy for em
sure they can, avoid kiting armies towards them lol..
scales off the staff's upgrade level, starts at 1m and you get an extra minute per upgrade
believe it caps at 4 minutes of the shield
take a cart to their wards
In ashlands they’re suicidal, and in mistlands they’re both required for normal progression and make amazing three-way fights if you bring a Gjall or seeker soldier
but that's cheating :(
Does the timer show up as a status on the top of the screen?
yes
Thanks!
its not cheating its cheesing...and i find it worth the moral goodness.
if I had the option I'd just pay the dvergr for the extractors
can somebody text me in dm, i got a question about the game
Ah, I found it, I just missed the time as it was at the top of the chart >.<
sail around the mistlands coasts with a boat full of gold and just stop by every camp
yeah i always did the cart thing, the first time i actually looted them i hated it so much..
Fighting dvergr is just a part of progression like entering a burial chamber or fighting Eikthyr, but it gets skipped much more often
They should be more intelligent at noticing the player cheesing
I like to mark their outposts and keep luring any bugs I meet to them until they’re too dead to protect their items
i will literally cheat in the extractors at some point then.
Morally correct cheating
At least cheat it the right way
With killall
😒
Killall, steal the extractor, spawn new dvergrs
see, I don't mind oppressing the natives in the plains because they're violent and attack me first
in the mistlands though, the dvergr just wanna be left alone so I feel bad about it
i will put the blame on odin
If you want, there’s a small chance to get sap when fishing up pufferfish, so that’s technically an alternative
is this true?
I read something about it on the wiki, don’t know the specifics
If it is true, it would be much slower than just using that pufferfish to kill the dvergr
it's also a way to get sap without killing any bosses 👀
(if true)
Hey Blob, how do you feel about the farming skill now that it’s been out for a bit? 🤔
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Fish?so=search it mentions bonus drops for various types of fish, I believe that it’s a chance whenever you catch the fish with a rod
Unfortunately, no black metal for an eitr refinery limits what you can do with that sap
Not necessarily, you can craft lingering stamina meads with it
Ah reread that nvm i see what you're saying
I haven’t done any real gameplay (just commands character testing) since the bog which released, I’m waiting for everything to work properly with controllers again.
Oh true, also bile bombs can be made. Definitely could be useful in some situations (if you’re willing to catch a couple hundred pufferfish)
do you know the % chance of getting them or nah
10% for 1-2 according to wiki
Might be big, currently workin on a run where I kill Fader first, lingering stam meads in an early ashlands scenario will be super helpful, big lore info drop ty
anyone got any spare honey
gotta love the crafting skill, just got a 2nd set of embla trousers
Never know when you’ll need them
But you can take a good guess (basically never)
finally got the best of both worlds for armors, the style of fenris with the magic of eitr
I will never shut up about my love for embla armor
now to get those damn axes
also I'm gonna have to unfortunately sail through the ashlands again, the island I landed on is really tiny and has no fortresses whatsoever
at the very least though it got me a nice easy start to getting my gear
i hate sailing in the ashlands lmao
wonderful biome, grateful for it, but devs did not cook with the sea of spikes and the least mobile ship in the universe.
real question, if I'm a mage is there really any reason I would need a bow?
I mean, it would be nice to have a dedicated long range option, but apart from when I need to be outright sniping enemies I never really see myself using non-stave weapons
I pretty much only kept arbalest around for dealing with the gjall
me personally i don't run a bow while on mage, but you certainly can, what you could do is unload your eitr bar, than unload your stam bar with the bow? i usually use crossbows as my stamina ranged option
I wasn't a huge fan of crossbows tbh, loading takes too long imo and gets interrupted too easily
would rather just charge & fire an ash fang
sure you get much higher dmg from a single shot of a crossbow, and assuming you get time to load all your shots and they all hit you'll get higher damage, but the longbow just felt more consistent for me
i swear to god greydwarves have like 6000% spawn rate compared to any other mobs in existence, i have placed down so many campfires around my base...
by far the nicest part of having my main base in a fuling camp is I don't hear the day/night music
just always my fuling camp beats to vibe and forge to
no I like the plains music
I mean the little track that plays whenever morning or night starts
never have to hear that interrupt my plains vibing
ohh
yall are never gonna guess which part of the mistlands feast I've never cooked
it requires cooked seeker meat, yggdrasil porridge, and misthare supreme
cooked seeker meat
yup
well thats logical
I have never bothered to cook that shit ever because I just funnel it straight into 20 billion aspic
It seemed so random to figure out what i needed for the feasts so i literally just looked everything up
the amount of sap I eat is ridiculous
might as well just start sipping it straight from the roots
syrup
sweet jesus that's a big eitr bar, 195 with aspic + broth + mistlands feast
and I've got enough stamina and health to work with too
not to mention my lingering eitr mead and queen's power I'm just gonna mage all over them
Roughly 1,5 hours later, skill is now 41.
@long locust how is ashlands so far?
pretty good honestly, got my embla armor and some new foods and I found a new island with a fortress on it
now I just gotta figure out how to get the siege equipment
find any caves yet?
you mean the morgen ones? yeah, never bothered to go in tbh
there are some cores in there, but you can get them from the fortress too
yk that's a scarily big volture over there I don't think it's a volture
LMAO
the valhiem map is an Archipelago right?
gotta go find out, investigate the giant vulture
pretty much yea
thought so
it is part of a bigger map tho
huh
your map, is not the whole map
yea it is
no its not
yea it is
... you think im stupid? i know the fog of war is parts that you havent found yet lol
wait what
but it cuts off how isnt that it
well, I got a mysterious location from that putrid hole, and some cores
also apparently I can already make a battering ram lol, time to fuck that fortress up
makes no sense, we have ashlands and deep north y would we only be a bit
check dms
yea the biomes are generated randomly on your world
no world will have same biomes in same location
WEHAT HTEFU CK
I have officially been ashlands-ed
was goin pretty alright, heading back from a morgen pit to my outpost, and then I get demolished by EVERY SINGLE ASHLANDS ENEMY AT ONCE
there were charred, there was a morgen, there were asksvins, there was a fuckin volture and a fallen valkyrie
mfw the leviathan sinks after 1 barnacle
What they mean is that each seed uses a map that is cookie cut out of a larger master map.
I didn't even get time to process what was happening to me once the valkyrie got involved I just instantly ragdolled halfway across the island
this is gonna be a fun corpse run
welcome to the ashlands
we all experienced it at some point
well, gonna start growing some ashvines on the sides of all my buildings
they are pretty good looking imo, wont really make your buildings look worse
yeah was hoping for them to actually cover up some of the less detailed parts of my build
didn't really get around to getting the exterior of my forge to look nice
they are a bit peculiar tho, too close to wall? dead, too far from wall? dead
think the magic distance is ~ 1m
they can also grab the wrong thing
like lets say you have detail edge pieces, they will grab that
then die
What do you guys think weapon is best?
I'm sorry a what?!?!?!
boutta batter some rams in a second, any tips?
don't worry about it... yet

after you break the door RUN!
oh god
Oh I'm a darksouls nutcase are they a challenge?
do I even wanna know why
if you dont you will die
I want a boss that is a challenge
tf is behind there that's gonna instantly kill me
a mob
What's going on? 😭
I'm preparing to piss myself in the ashlands
of dead people
oh, that doesn't sound so bad
sword
Are the fallen Valkyries a challenge? What do they look like?
nah, terrifying
giant feathery sky creatures
the thing that carries you at the start of the game but messed up, and yeah they're pretty scary from my first run in
That thing was munjn was it not?
nope
That thing is terrifying
what boss are you currently at?
Who me?
yea
I've got a new world mainly for building but I've defeated the elder solo
goat
they get much harder
i died 16 times on elder
Only to get the stone building pieces lol
Oh I know I have an endgame character that's super high level
...
so why did you ask if bosses get harder?
but you dont know what a fallen valk is
Made a new one to enjoy the grind again. Back when this first released on Xbox I practically sped run the bosses
ohh
Haven't been to the ashlands yet. I got back into it just recently, back before the update
mmmm
fader is pretty challenging if you have never fought him before
hey u, i recommend going to mountains and getting fenris set b4 fighting b mass
So I've heard. I crave a good challenging fight in games, I'm currently going through and beating each dark souls 100%, my biggest fears sk far is going blow for blow with Artorias the abyss Walker on Ng+4 with no heals and going toe to toe with Horah Loux fist to fist on Ng+7
in english please
Those are two very hard to beat bosses. Horah Loux was the first Elden Lord who was a chieftain who can kill you with his fists, after each new game plus the games get more difficult and Dak souls 1 new game plus is very out of balance, after the first everything's health doubles, and same for Elden Ring but not so unbalanced
so, how would I go about getting rid of skuggs
nvm
gotta post a screenshot real quick of the most goated dvergr of all time
So any more info on the winter child? I'm interested in that lore
this absolute lad of a 1* dvergr rogue just stumbled across my war with the fortress, walked in, and started shooting half the enemies in there with me, now he's just patrolling the inside of the fortress
What i wanna see this😂😂
Bro pulled up with the blicky 😂 how did you take him?
idk he just walked up to me while I was busting that door down and he just decided "yeah fuck it"
unfortunately he did leave once I killed the archers in the center tower
wow lmao
guys was like " i heard you were gonna raid these guys, they have been pestering me for ages, lets take them down!"
what gems did you get?
all of em
ton of iolite, couple of bloodstones & jade
relocating my outpost to the FORTRESS rn
don't even ask me how I said forest instead of fortress
you are quite far from the forrest
thats a lucky fortress tho, the 2 i did barely had any gems
nah there's a lot of burnt trees here
yeah pretty sure it spawned the max amount of chests
2 fortresses and i came out with like 3 jade, 2 bloodgems, and 1 iolite
all together
ok tbf the numbers themselves will be a bit fucky since I play on 2x resources
ohhh ok ok
i played with one of my friends, and he summoned a troll in my base
quite unfortunate
we do a little trolling
hmm i wonder if blood magic inceases their health, or if its only dmg like the skeletons
oh their health does increase a little
but with the item lvl, not blood magic
wait nvm
aint no way I just got a bonus craft on the bells lmao
so, 1 fortress in and I have 2 bells for fader
thats durability
well, in one weapon craft I've made two of my mistlands weapons irrelevant
goodbye himminafl and jotun bane, only one of you will be missed
ok blood magic skill does nothing for summoned trolls
yeah just affects the health and eitr cost iirc
honestly the berserkir axes are insanely good for chopping trees
think it's primarily because their animation is faster
yo whats the best farm to lvl up weapon skills?
yeah but i mean a farm
but i kinda wanted to lvl up the skill before explore ashland more xd
i mean, idk. my axes are 53 and i didnt use anything before the berserker axes
just go on some like foraging trip in some biome, clear a fuling vilage or an infested mine idk.
running around killing enemies is the best way
no spawners spawn fast enough to make an efficient farm
they patched the rock thing right
yea
i don't really get 'farms' in terms of anything remotely efficient for leveling skills in this game, i don't think such a thing exists unless you mean afking around a greydwarf spawner with the dead raiser
no more shooting rock
what about the pvp off player?
you can still do that
why would anyone want to do the rock thing
there is the shield skill farm
if you just went and fought things you would have more fun and you would get stuff from the things you fought
shield is best during a skeleton raid since there are like 20 enemies
nah i mean the shield skill farm
yea shield skill
you trap 50 skelletons with bows in a hole
that sounds tedious
🙃
where am i gonna find 50 bow skeletons
skeleton spawn
Why not just set your skill to whatever and take back 5 hours of your life?
dont those things have a max 3 spawn in an area or something?
yeah but you bring them away from the area
oh ok ill also get my full flametal itens
ty for the tip
i think for magic, using a farm is the most efficient, but with other weapons, its better to just run around and kill stuff
It's different though. If you're leveling it on normal content throughout the world, I get it. But trapping things in a corner or afk'ing by a spawner is cheesing the system. That's all.
unless you wanna find one of those rock formations in the swamp with 2 draugr and an skeleton spawner
and sit ther for a long time
still not as efficeint as roaming the ashlands
To each their own though. I personally would rather be exploring than sitting in a hole with skeletons to level my skills.
there are hundreds of enemies, just waiting
I mean my last playthrough i used the fly command to get my stuff every time i died 🤣
there are some skills id like to hit 100 on, but for most of them 50 is good enough, im happy if most my skill hit 50
Just reading through all these shenanigans and loving every moment of it 😂
How you enjoying Ashlands so far?
anyone got any idea how to make a trojan horse but with 8 legs in this game?
i actively train my skills....just not that much, i just dont like to lsoe skills.
Only skill I bother training is magic - it’s just so much better when you’ve levelled up
uhh just got one shot by a 1 star warrior just now so yeah
Ai ai ai
downing 4 bottles of mead is apparently bad for your decision making
Well, SKAL!
We’ll come back and smack the enemy when we are sober 🤭
hi sildar
Heeey! 👋🥳
something tells me the soft tissue in putrid holes comes from all the dvergr that morgen has eaten
Yup.
if I have to sail for a third time to find a lavaiathan I'm gonna cry
Why are you looking for a leviathan in the Ashlands?
I swear finding infested mines is getting more annoying than finding Yagluth
RIP LAD
RIP the Ernest dverger!
Considering he went against all that, I think he should be an honorary einherjar
" this dvergr took on an entire fortress! hes no ordinary dvergr"
best part is all the charred bones I picked up over there, dude was fighting off that entire army pretty damn well until they sent in the askvin and valkyrie
Epic! 🥰
i wish my dvergrs were that skilled
I’m already envisioning an amazing cinematic for this guy
most of mine seem to just sprint into the lava and insta die
seeing him in battle was beautiful, I remember when he shattered a charred archer with one blow from the stock of his crossbow
My imagination is just envisioning him going down after a ton of kills, only for the last enemies to get nuked by a furious mage who walks in and obliterates the shit out of everything before having a tender moment to wish their friend farewell
ngl if I had eaten two eitr foods before that corpse run I would've fuckin dropped a troll on their asses right then and there
alas I had to settle for exploding the valkyrie with a nearby rock
Leviathans stay in one spot, right?
Yes
However once they sink they will not resurface, and no they don't respawn
Odd, then it was a coincidence when i came near yesterday the same location the first one i found was i saw another
Well sometimes they will be in groups of 2-5 (5 Is the buggest group i personally found, maybe there can be even more together 😄)
When i first mined the bastard i was so scared i thought the guy was gonna raise up like the Kraken from Hilda
Same island type shit
That would be cool tho, a bigger hostile mama leviathan
i found a 4 in my world, thats my record so far
didnt mine any of them, no more use for chitin
Did they optimize the game with the Bog Witch?
I don't remember it running or looking so crisp before
I believe there was quite a lot of optimizations in there 😄
Sad thing tho
Would be nice to have more weapons from chitin
Or some other stuff
Me and my friend has a system of starting a world and gaining lives from killing bosses (once we're out of lives, we restart a new world and characters). We did a near flawless run and finally made it to Ashlands. This place is insane
Went through the majority of our lives on the first island of it
Seems like a proper welcome to Ashlands
What do you think, will we get Mistland NPC in future? the named one
We already have for Meadows, BL and Swamp
According to this #general message I don't think there is planned any yet.
the leviathan clumps seem to be more common around mistlands, i always see 3-5 in a small area
Why there is no trophy for Lord Reto 😭
Unfair
The Dyrnwyn can be considered as a weapon and a trophy.
I want the trophy-trophy
Chain lightning that comes through everything and bounce also from everything kinda op
I don't get why devs don't hire Project Auga modder, it even has a webpage about it
Mods 🤢
Olá? Hi There :3
why should we? 🤔
Wait, a company can choose who they hire or not?? Who would have believed that?? 👀
the only think I personally like about Auga, is the stats they choose to display in the character selection screen.
I do not like their overlays and color palette choices
I love valheim (i haven’t left my room in days) it’s so good (send help as i am perpetually stuck in the 10th realm)
What help do you require?
Currently nothing, I just found out if you combine copper and tin, you get bronze
Don't spoil all the ways we can die in there! 😁
don't spoil the many ways of deaths, that valheim offers 👀
||a lot||
"Killed by tree" remains my #1 cause of death...
It is certainly my favourite cause of death 😄
it has to become an achievement in 1.0 😛
Agreed 🙂
It could be dying to every type of tree?
Even just fun easy achievement "die to a tree" would be enough imo 😄 it doesent really have to be a challenge
what would be a funny name for the achievement? i feel like "Oops" fits nicely 😛
and this one could be "Well now you're doing it on purpose!" 😂
"Bonk" ?
Dying to a tree not only should be an achievement but it should be a hidden achievement
True that
Killing a stone golem with a battering ram could be a good achievement?
Yes: One Ram Viking
hi valheimers <:3c
Hidden as well
oppenheimers
oh god!
I'm sure it would be redundant to ask that every boss has one
It should be for bringing their heads to the sacrificial stones, not just killing them
But wouldn't that mean that any player entering a server would automatically unlock the achievement despite not having even fought the boss?
They'd have to be there when it happens
Could work
“Tree Safety Inspector”
killing the boss is a bigger accomplishment than putting the trophy on the hook tbh
are there any plans for the game to get a steam workshop for mods?
Nothing we know of
You guys don't need to use all of the UI but Auga was so cool. I think the UI of the game should look better.
wil loxs tame in the black forset
Yep, they only need correct food
What's wrong/worse with the way it looks now?
It could be more high res, more detail in the wood, carved signs and the skills in Auga for example have a better display, you don't have to scroll down. I just like it more. Could have more feedback about it but that's the basic about the UI, it's not the worst UI I saw in a game but needs improving.
The low resolution wood matches the art style of the game, why should that be changed?
Imo the crafting/building menus need some kind of sorting, even a search bar would be fine
Because it is low-res and the game has a lot of pixels in screen, it's more pixel art style. The actual UI doesn't match with that in fact.
Are you a dev?
The developers all have purple names
Well... I don't like too much that about Auga either. That minimalistic style would be good to have but an option with wood (pixelated) matching the wood of the game for example would be good.
In general... the UI needs improvement but I'm eager to hear more about optimization. In this game if you build you are destined to suffer
It's incredible how modders improve everything. I don't play without that mod
Mod fanboy section is that way ----> #mods-discussion 😉
No thanks, I was talking about the UI of the game. You don't need to be rude.
It's not about being fanboy or something. I just want a better game like everyone.
People often takes suggestions or opinions so personal I don't understand sometimes. Besides there's no need to be prejudiced. If I'm at the Discord its because I'm playing the same game as you.
no thanks you 😦
There is a saying "Keep it simple"
we don't want a overly cluttered UI with information about everything possible on screen
minimalistic and spartan is the way we have choosen
Okay 😄
No need to be sad (?
sad that you don't like our original style
the art style is a purposeful choice, not one im complaining about but you dont really play valheim for the graphics, you play it because the gameplay is fun
also, first thing i read when opening discord is people dieing to trees. certified valheim moment
yeah, It was only my opinion it seems, I'm sorry. Everytime I say something to improve the game I just gain hate from the community, I will keep low profile
I love the game like everyone you know
don't apologize for expressing your opinion about a game my guy
i mean with any type of suggestion you will always get a bit of the semmelweiss reflex, so dont take naysayers too personal, but also keep in mind that some people really like it the way it is and wouldnt change it for anything
?
No really, I learned my lesson and I will stop giving suggestions. Apologies
I left some old screens with friends #screenshots in the meantime (?
I like the UI. It isn’t distracting and cluttered.
Gameplay reaaaaallly reminds me of the souls games. Artstyle is beautiful
theres a few really nice touches, like how the inventory changes color with the time of day
They're patch notes, read them
I did, they didn't add any sorting/filter options afaik? I've reach Mistlands and started playthrough this update
it gets real nice colors during dawn and dusk, check it out next time youre playing
- Console command added: ‘sortcraft’ to be able to sort crafting lists by name, type, weight, count or original
Well that's a devcommand, I'm not an admin
A feature like that should absolutely not be locked behind devcommands
Still there tho
Also, that implies it will be a more accessible thing in the future
"still there tho"
Commands might imply they're foundations for future implementations
Is it just a devcommand though? That feels like the kind of user commands that should be accessible via the normal chat
Let me test that
it's not but i think you still have to have console enabled, and a feature like that is not something you should have to go out of your way and find
Also, something tells me it's the type of command that works client-side
heyo
Oh it does
/sortcraft
Why would Iron Gate make it server-side?
Exactly, was worth testing without devcommands
hi blob rianu & scarlet 🤩
I fear after playing with unsorted everything for so long I would be searching for ages if I started to sort stuff... I am so used to finding things where they have always been 😄 he he he... the adaptability of the human mind 😄
I mean...
It's not like it would be the first time they do something questionable that should make more sense in another way...
recalls iron pit being unportable despite not having any benefits aside from visuals
@gleaming musk @merry socket
Bog Witch new feature:
Using /sortcraft in the in-game chat followed by name, type, weight, count or original sorts the crafting list under any of those parameters
Building and progression of this game is unmatched.
whys there like a delay on everything i mine
its been this way for quite some time now...rocks, copper, tin, silver, iron...i mine out a chunk and it takes like 3 seconds for everything to actually drop.
and it doesnt happen all at once it like loads in one by one 🥶
Playing with other people?
not even a little bit lul
Hmmm then thats weird, I usually just have those issues when I play with others and they are hosting the chunk
Is your pc stats good enough for Valheim?
well i think playing on max graphics and 70+ fps is a good sign
And nothing else is delayed?
nope
Then idk
that sounds weird. if youre on steam, i recommend verifying the integrity of your game files
sounds like you answered your question already
as to why things load in slowly, not sure
mob drops spawn all at once, so does wood from trees, guck, fenris hair and all those various things
Have you guys also noticed worse performance in the same areas after the latest patch?
obsidian is slow too, everything that is mine-able.
I'm getting 20-30fps lower on average and I don't know why
I noticed better performance if anything 🤷♂️
lol Valheim can run on a patatoE 🤣
Yeah it is quite cpu hungry 😄
I had some performance issues on infested mines, everywhere else is good
my rtx 3050 4gb run perfectly fine although since the latest update my performance has been spotty
i guess like half a dozen people i know play games on less than potatoes
i know my main computer which i thought was really good certainly fell immediately short when i got valheim and played on 30fps on medium settings
lol
Has resource rate being at x1.5 always doubled crop gain? Or is that a new thing? I feel like I remember players mentioning it didn’t affect farming.
Resource sliders affect everything that drops from a world source
It rounds up, so things which drop 1 or 2 drops at normal drop rate will drop double
Yeah, I remember getting like 2 surtling cores from burial chambers and stuff like that, but I thought planted crops still only gave 1 crop. I’m likely just misremembering though lol
in the iron age tryna tame my first boar 🗣️
how the fuck im giving the lil guy carrots and mushrooms and ive been waiting like 15 minutes, saw yellow hearts and i come to him and still mad at my ass for imprisoning him
what do i do fellow vikings
You wait for another 15 minutes 🙂 it takes 30 to completly tame animals
At best it takes 30 minutes
does it reset
If you keep getting close to it or leaving the proximity, it will take more
Gotta leave him alone while he’s taming, but also have to stay close enough.
i dont believe it does
but it will be stopped when they are mad
It does not reset afaik
im booreeedd
okay so i can go back to check on his carrots then and again
If it’s close enough to your base, do some base maintenance while you wait 👍
That's why you try to tame them while you are busy doing something at your base and you always tame at least 2 at the same time
Yeah, I’d just throw like 10 carrots in there and leave it alone
i did everything before haha
otherwise it's just pointless
Have you built a boar barn?
a what now, i just built a stupid lil cage
barns come later, id assume thats just a building with just cosmetic function and not a ingame piece
Are you taming 2 boars?
just 1
ill go make the gjallarhorn or whatever the horn is called
Then you will need second one eventualy 😄
They need a mate to breed that's why you want to tame at least 2 simultaneously
so the furnaces are a 10 cart length away from the boar, if in the future my sister and i are doing smelting work while the other is taming would it interrupt
damnit
okay
Just check if you will have the "fire" effect in the area you want to tame them
great so i went to get another boar to tame, opened the fenced cage to let both aggro me and get them in, and they both escaped, one started damaging my furnace and the other gone
fuck taming, thats just supposed to be boar farming right? ill do it sometime later i suppose
Taming is almost literally a crap-shoot. If you find a two-star boar early then it makes a world of difference to early progression. If you manage to tame a two-star wolf, you can breed an army that will help you progress. But, realistically, just killing the wild animals will get you what you need.
But can you put a price on petting a boar and having it say 'Poogie loves you'
poogie is such an awesome name
Boars are a maybe; good species to get into taming for the first time
Tame Wolves - now that's a game changer, especially with a few many 2-star wolves following you
If you're gonna keep boars, you at least have to give them pun names like 'ZsaZsaGaboar', or 'BoarisJohnson', or 'TonyPork', or 'Carvin'Bacon'...
no, monster hunter references come first
imma name my first future wolf charlie, after my dog
Part of me wants to tell you that's a sweet idea. But part of me knows Charlie gonna die!
shut up theres no lava pools in this game and id hope the wolf ai isnt as stupid
-# well i got some news for you
yes
but i know you're probably not gonna take the wolf down there
there's an awesome mob to tame in the ashlands, and luckily they can walk on lava
they're in plenty danger even in the early biomes, depending on the enemies they're up against.
they for example have no way of defending themselves against drakes
i used a horde of 1star wolves to kill both Moder, and Yagluth 🙂
They know it. Their descendants are already planning vengeance for your blatant disregard of those trusting hounds.
haha
drakes.... big furry creature? i aint going in that place ever those deathsquitoes give me PTSD from going 30m near the plains on a boat
I keep fishing up stones and flint in meadows. Can I get better stuff in harder biomes?
its cool to see how different God of War and Valheim interpret norse creatures (i prefer god of war designs tbh)
you usually get some form of common material from the area you fish in when catching a fish
yeah. in the ocean i saw some fish swimming, havent ever fished myself though. It always says its not taking the bait
"Neutral" foods like jerky are neglected af.
Like Valheim development wise. It's an underused concept.
the new feasts are similar, balanced food
"not taking the bait" is the most irritating game mehcanic I'Ve seen in a while
What's yall opinion on sledges? They just seem so slow but it's big aoe damage
i love the big hammers. this playthrough i've built and used all of them.
I feel like that's a completely unfair comparison, one is done purposely in a more pixilated simplistic style while the other is from a Triple AAA studio. Lol
design.
you can easily translate god of war designs to the artstyle of Valheim.
i swear fallen valkyries dont see you unless you’re already fighting a morgen
I don't know about GOW design is but I think greydwarfs are super cool in both design and lore
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo im already stuck on gna theres more valkyries here????
gna?
greydwarfs dont exist in GoW iirc
How to drive boat
god of war
greydwarfs are valheim original
and how do I become drink while doing so
oh right
valkyries are very different in valheim
they’re not boss fights and are all the same, they dont have variants
Valkyrie prepared. Achtung!
they see you fighting a morgen and 2 million twitchers and just think “oh bet its gank ‘o clock”
at least they damage other enemies
drakes from the mountains.
they're a nuisance at worst to players, but since they never land, wolves can't damage them. and since they don't have a frost resistance, they can be oneshot by them unless stared
Ah, interesting. I haven't gotten to try the feasts yet
nothing worse than a drake coming to bother your silver mining. i can literally never be bothered to take out my bow that i just let them keep shooting until they eventually fly away
same
caught copper ore... yay
Heck a spear at them. Or Abyssal Harpoon.
its laziness on my part
when you have the wolf or lox cape they do maybe 5 dmg per hit, its just a nuisance and im not bothered lmao
it's the disrespect though. you need to put those drakes in their place.
i love jumping off of rocks and killing them with the sword
ultimate style on them
play peekaboo behind a tree til they come low enough to be meleed
hits with weapon and it dies "Tag, you're it!"
when my girlfriend and i got to mountains she developed actual racism for drakes, it was amazing
appropriate reaction
understandable, i wish your gf a nice day
we dont fw drakes here
one of the first things i do when i get arbalest is take it to the mountains to mash drakes into oblivion at range
these late game feasts are actually a buff for mage users, instead of runnign 2 eitr and a stam, just run the mistlands or ashlands feast with 2 eitr, feels so nice
lose like 30 stam, but gain 50 extra hp, and 30 more eitr
Ashlands feast is also one of the easiest to make. only fiddlehead + the powder being non-farmable
I built bronze tools, made a base with a trench, and made a small boat. What's next on the Bronze age before I ascend to the iron age by killing The Elder?
bronze buckler?
Got a fermenter and mead kittle?
Have you made a cultivator?
GLAD TO SEE THIS GAME BECOME FAMOUS AGAIN
Your caps lock appears to be broken.
Wdym? Its as known of as ever.
Is the scythe better than the atgier for harvesting barley?
Yes, much better
think i got lucky with the ashlands landfall, cuz it was rather peaceful and I've seen so many people describe utter chaos.
Only ran into a serpent thing and some vultures
came across a ruined tower, hopped off and placed my portal
Hi there ❤️ Someone brazilian for help me =3
i spoke too soon
my portal was destroyed and i boiled to death lol
having to build a new ship just to get to the old one is kinda funny
happened to me first try there tooo it took me a lot of time to reclaim my dead body
i mean whats the best approach, there was a shoreline which didnt seem to have any mobs. The charred only spawned once I ran further inland. Is that safe?
First time I went there I built a portal in one of those big ruins that had vines. The mob density thought was pretty high so I built an earth wall to create a safe space.
That was during the PTB which had more mobs and one bug that caused enemies in zone get alerted by falling tree sounds so that's why the density was much higher than now.
Did you bring a shield generator?
ohhh shield generator... will that deter mobs or only block them until the hitcount is breached
no. it just prevents environmental damage from ash rain and such
It'll block projectiles and spawns but enemies can walk through it, so you still need walls (a terrain wall ideally).
More importantly it stops the Ashlands fire rain from burning your structures.
you could also stick a workbench and portal under stone, or in a putrid hole cave entrance, then try to block that with some stone.
does anyone have a world i can join an build an explore on?
thx
guys
i might have found the biggest fucking starting island known to mankind 😭
it has plains, meadows, blackforest, swamp and mountains 😭
Hm, not a bad one.
That is quite nice 🙂
Noo i really wanted one with only meadows and dark forest :<
I wanted to show my bf abt travelling in sea a little further and thrill of the ocean monsters
You will still have to eventualy 😄
yeahh very further on tho
That's still only half the biomes.
Yall wanna see the map i wanna send a ss
Sure
where do i send
honestly it's kinda crazy how quick I've progressed through ashlands, already got max embla and the best mage food and I've been here maybe a day?
just gotta raid a few more fortresses for some bell fragments before I fight fader
Seems like the plains and swamps are not that big 😄 you might have to sail anyway #screenshots message
Yeah, Ashlands is pretty short 🙂
the plain side is extending i didnt go far
Ashlands feels short because the whole Ashlands is in one place, instead of scattered around like other biomes.
is there any other sea enemy besides serpent?
In ashlands sea there is
In Ocean biome, no. Other sea creature, yes. In Ashlands.
scary 😭
Don't worry too much, you can spot the Ashlands edge before you even enter there.
also i opened the map via using fly command bcz its really getting to me grinding till swamp biome till we get to swamp biome ima cheat a little
You're grinding UNTIL you get to Swamp? Oh boy.
I mean... The copper grind feels long 😄
I've never felt that. But I think I'm in the minority.
Actually agree with that, I don’t think the Bronze Age is grindy. But yeah, we’re the minority lol
I dont feel its that way anymore 🙂 but when i was starting i certainly did
The real grind is Finewood 😦
Fair! @asat
IMO, if you're finding a certain aspect of Valheim too grindy or too boring you're probably doing far more of it than you actually need.
Either that or you're sleeping on world modifiers.
Not like that i played like 4 to 5 times on new saves and i practiced till swamp
so i got bored at it and i js wanna skip it till swamp
What modifiers?
so i like to cheat on it
You can use the command itemset swamp to instantly get appropriate equipment and skills
i am js prepping my bf on it and the starter island has no good place to set up on
I think (at least in my case when i was a new player) that it felt grindy because i simply didnt know the best way to do it, and i might have been getting a bit too much 😛 also the world modifiers were not a thing back then 😁
NGL, on our post-Ashlands world my server speedran until Swamps and then spawned in a metric ton of iron and gave it the bird.
I also found turnips literally 10 feet into the first Swamp biome I entered.
But now we're playing ||Enshrouded|| and I'm really torn loyalty-wise.
Sure why not 🙂 I personally couldnt be bothered to get tons and tons of wood and since i wanted to just freely build a nice house i simply spawned like 1000
Do you enjoy Enshrouded? Is it in a good spot?
Absolutely loving it. It's utterly brutal at times but yeah, it hits the sweet spot in so many areas.
I’ll have to check it out someday for sure
It's a very different game with a much bigger team so very unfair to compare the two, but QOL it certainly gets right.
Enshrouded's release cadence is rather impressive
Plant your crop in the wrong place? Press 'E' to repot. Build in the wrong place? Press undo to try again.
oh shit, does the fire rain destroy portals?
I'm starting to think this is getting out of hand--
Yes, that’s why you need to bring a shield generator
RIP
If it ignites it, then yes.
That fire turns all wood to coal.
can the grausten ruins with covered roofs prevent it?
Anyways guys yall think its fine me to cheat a little till swamp 😭 bcz i dont really wanna go to bronze grind again
it's a single player game
Play exactly how you want to play. It's not a competitive game or a live service game.
You do what you want 🙂
As long as you're enjoying it, you're playing it right.
Does anyone know how to make a valheim sever
Any cover that doesn't get ignited can protect the portal. Stone, Grausten etc.
You'll probably find some people to help in #dedicated-server
do the dvergrs in the ashlands have bases or do they just run loose?
both
They have some small houses but die very quickly
i made 2 ships and both times didnt bring bars to make the shield generator with cuz im dumb apparently lol
It's fine make a portal and just run a good distance and make another portal then start exploring from that point
that way you will have a backup that will stay unrendered (safe)
Could it be possible to mine into one of the large rocks there as a shelter?
Lava blobs can blow those up
Only if you let them
True
All the enemies that aren’t the charred or birds can break the rock
morgen and askvins break normal rock and grausten ruins. lava blobs are the only thing in the game that break raised earth. (and normal rock stuff of course.)
When a troll raid destroys the 6 raspberry bushes next to your base 🥲
Oh, and another thing I’ve noticed regarding the Bronze Age- although it’s a small chance, getting an extra bronze out of crafting is a really nice feeling 👍
Kinda makes me hope we get another alloy type of metal for deep north 😏
Frost steel.
One metal could be from dungeons, and another from enemies, like a combination of plains and swamp?
So no mining?
There could be mining, but these other sources have only been used once and mining has been done four times (including soft tissue)
An alloy doesn’t need to be two metals. As the final biome, deep north could do everything? We’ll just have to wait…
does anybody know if the farmgrid mod will be updated any time soon? or know a guy that knows a guy to do so ? 😛
I switched to PlantEasily
ops, sorry !
Killed elder, forgot key, came back days later and can't find it. Does it despawn after a time?
Slowpoke 😛 💛
If there’s no base item (such as a workbench) nearby, it will despawn.
Ewwwww. Do I have to kill again or is there another way? Tried dev commands, can't get it to work.
Real life took precedence unfortunately, but I did finally get around to it didn't I~
Gave people a chance to actually know mine exists 😭
That said I'm very much open to feedback on the diets that the sheet includes, that section's definitely gotten messier
What isn’t working with devcommands?
Only way without devcommands to get another key is to kill the Elder again; you can try to spawn the key again if you wish, using commands
Open chat, do /devcommands, says it's true. Tried most combinations of "spawn cryptkey" no luck
You need to use the developer console
https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Developer_console#Enabling_the_console
and the correct syntax would be spawn CryptKey 1
actually, I just tried it, and surprisingly, you can use /spawn cryptkey in the chat
You don’t need a 1. Leave it empty to spawn a single item
