You can regenerate the exact same map with all the dungeons in exactly the same spot and the dungeon interiors will be different.

There's generally a similar number of them on each seed. But the distribution of them can be very RNG, dependig on the size of the BF biomes etc.

So if there's a lot of small islands, it has a harder time to fit a lot of Burial Chambers. But it might drop most of them far away from spawn if spawn is mostly small islands for example.

Took me almost three years to realize that the leather helmet and iron helmet have the exact same model but just a different texture

also the “just go to a fortress” argument doesn’t work, because you either have to get the flametal from the dwarves or the leviathans to even get in there, or just completely ignore progression and climb in (which is lame)

having to ignore a core part of progression in a biome because of a bug is disheartening

It isn't as easy to fix a bug as you think, they can't just take out a little bit of code or change a bit of code and it is fixed, if they change a bit of code it can impact the rest of the game.

I think it's a bit ironic that the best spot to sail without being afraid to wreck your ship at something hidden under the surface are the Mistlands.
I mean: Meadows and Plains often got sandbanks near the shore, Black Forest got the hidden rocks. Mountains don't have coastlines - unless you got a very weird map generation - and Ashland got these spines.
Meaning Mistlands only got the islands and quite often they're not covered in mist at all.

Oh I've critiqued them and I'm really hoping they fix the bugs and add some QoL to farming and crafting.
They do get the benefit of the doubt from me since it is still in early access and we don't know what they prioritize and how much work some things might be.
The cluttered crafting station list is high on the list for me and that has been in the game from the start, the useless upgrade tab in the cauldron is also something annoying.

I was lucky that the one and only flamemetal spire I mined didn't put me into sliding mode, I was always able to jump off, float to safety with the feather cape, hop trough a portal and come back to a not sinking spire and mine the rest.

Which is also something I hope they fix, resetting a spire shouldn't be possible, once it starts sinking it should be gone or at least gone for a long while and it might rise up again after a lengthy time has passed so you could potentially mine the rest of the spire.

More to the middle, look for a green beam going up into the sky.
There should be a central island directly south from spawn and closer to the middle of that island there should be fortresses.
the islands next to that "centre" island should also contain fortresses but the ones after that might not have some.
