I currently have teleport ore turned on for a run with a buddy who I already did everything tedious with in the past, and we both just agreed to turn it on.

But at the same time, I have a world where I full on won't teleport at all, and limit myself to having to travel to any base I make by foot/boat.

As someone was asking about an area hitting bad performance, a big multi-floor base with lots of stuff will kill you on CPU and GPU usage. Especially memory bandwidth and GPU bandwidth.

The biggest impact setting here is light source count. If you cut it down to 4 or 8 from unlimited, you will get MUCH better performance.

The second biggest is detail level for this case. View distance is only a big deal if your computer is slow enough that forests slow you down.

The same goes with shadows. Shadow maps are drawn and read in the same frame, so they are bigger impact despite being lower detail.

This idea came to me because in the famous first roadmap (which we know has already been discarded) it said svartalfr brigands. According to what I have read, it could be that the concept svartalfr could refer to both elves and dwarves. If so we already have the dvergs. but hey, fantasizing in the morning that there are dark elf camps is good xd

Troll caves can generate with a troll spawned outside it (and inside it), but once that troll is dead they don't spawn any more trolls (though random spawns can of course spawn near caves).

It’s funny you mention that, I think it would be really neat if 3 Star creatures/monsters could be found as a single encounter variant or something, with a way to track them down or something. For example, a 3 star deer could be a white stag, a 3 Star wolf could essentially be an untamable direwolf or something.

If your own the server, just make sure you don't give them any admin rights.
If it's at a dedicated server, that should already be the case.

But you can't prevent players to play at their PC in a solo game, gather resources, weapons and armor and skilling there; then "importing" the same character in an MP game.

The most important thing with a co-op game is to be able to trust the other player(s).
If you can't do that, don't invite them or simply change the password so they won't be able to enter the game anymore.

Added to that:

If you play a MP game at a server without password protection...... that's kinda asking for problems and "cheaters" entering.
Best protection against cheaters is to set a password.
Second best protection is to have only those you know and trus to enter the game.

I really love this game but I find that once I start going into the swamp area it becomes so difficult to actually make any progress and I end up spending 80% of my time just trying to get my stuff back. Does anyone have any tips to help me git gud, specifically in the swamp? I really wanna explore all this game has to offer but I keep getting stuck at that stage of progression

Slow down, make sure you have poison resistance mead and the best available food and proper gear, be careful and pay attention.

If you're going to become true valheim players, then you've got to learn the five d's of valheim: dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge!

For swamp; make sure you don't dock near it, but dock in a "friendly" biome instead.
Enter carefully, sneak if you can so you'll be able to spot and kill things before they spot you.
Bring a hoe to raise the ground, as that would give you a benefit in movement.
Make sure you bring fire arrows and an axe to deal with one of the big monsters there.
And most important:

DON'T GO IN THERE AT NIGHT!!

Swamp sucks just make sure you are always well rested, have eaten good food and build a base in the neighbour biome with a portal. The crypts can be spotted easily as they have green torches outside. Make sure you mark all crypts to come back to them easily

Perhaps another useful thing:

Don't use bronze armor in the swamp, but use troll armor instead.
Bronze armor slows you down and in the swamps that's not useful. Plus troll armor gives you a sneak bonus when you have all 4 parts equipped; which will give you a good chance to do "one-hit-kills" when using a bow.

It's the last proper progression biome left to be developed after Ashlands. Ocean is getting more stuff too but it's not known how much or what kind.

I don't mind when "bystanders" enter the fight. But that Queen fight was the worst I encountered in this game.
And due to wanting all trophies at my castle wall, I had to fight the B**** twice too.

Yeah but if you're clearcutting black forest you get tons of core wood. You get only regular wood from firs (and bushes and stumps) but you get about half core wood half regular wood from pines. You don't need enormous amounts of core wood, I usually only keep a few stacks in a chest unless I'm building something and then I'll just go farm pines.

Not the best weapon, but they are a lot of fun. Great backstab damage, low stamina usage, quick attacks for a quick combo after a parry or for if you're rolling to avoid attacks. Plus knife skill levels super quick with the fast attacks

Can also get some nice secondary attack staggers or even kills, but they can be rough to hit

And they don't slow you down

and having an iron tier weapon before getting iron is pretty nice too

Very Hard mode has given me appreciation for fast attacking weapons. The heavy hitting ones often only get 1 hit in before I have to get ready for another parry, which isn't great damage compared to 3 hits from a knife or spear. And I can't just sit there tanking damage bc the opponents 1 or 2 shot me

Islands are often very nice and defensible, easy to prevent spawns. Beyond that, near Black Forest or other places you might get needed materials from if you're trying to make a full base

As for saplings, you can't recreate the beech saplings that you find in the Meadows. They're only world generated 😉

Bonemass for sure is helped by terraforming, I haven't found it super useful for Moder. You might dig under her altar for a relatively safe refuge, but there's not much else that matters. I prefer having the rocks to hide behind that she can damage instead of hitting me

Considering they said she does 460 damage with her attack, which is double the base damage, I'm guessing they're playing on Very Hard mode which doubles enemy damage and are well aware of the tradeoffs 😉

Why not?? She’s not resistant or immune to any of its damage, and it attacks fast and has 2 hit damage combos which allows me to get off great damage even if I need to frequently dodge to avoid attacks
