I have trouble with the sound in Valheim. When i play other games through steam it works just fine but Valheim is Quiet.
Im sure ive got the right output. If i change output to other speakers or just through the monitors speakers. Still as quiet no sound. sound is on. its maxed both in windows and in game.

invisible spawners for (some) enemies do exist and some of them respawn their enemy after some time (though the majority are one-time only) but they're exclusively used in points of interest such as dungeons, ruins, cabins, geysers, etc.
-# (examples of things that don't appear in any poi and thus don't have an invisible spawner at all, used or unused, include but aren't limited to: abominations, all fish other than tetra, lox, serpents and gjalls)
all of these spawners are very precise in where they spawn their enemy, there's no variation within a radius

the despawning doesn't happen to every enemy that happened to spawn at night, it's exclusive to spawn "rules" that only happen at night, wolves for example have two separate spawn rules, one for day and one for night, lox iirc just have one that's always active

The one meta thing you could use is root harnesk (swamp light armor chest piece). It gives you resistance to the most prominent damage in the mistlands

But if it’s your first time and you’re playing normal difficulty it might not be worth it. It comes with some drawbacks too

It get's better if you just think of areas in groups.

First you have the starters, with Meadows, BF, and even tiny mountains. This is what you think the world consists of when you start your first playthrough.

Then we get plains, swamp and real mountains as the next package. This is peak.

From there, every biome currently feels very standalone, but maybe they will feel more packaged once the game is done.

Yeah, plains seem very boring if you just have a plains era, but I always find myself already having the materials I need from there before I've actually got the tears to use it.

My feedback, without spoilers on it and thoughts.

Ashlands boss is the most enjoyable and technical fight in the game. A+ on that. (And that means I've finally finished Ashlands since it game out like what, 2 years ago? lol)

I hated the Queen fight. So the boss fights, as enjoyable fights, on comparative terms...

Is queen just "annoying" with the different amount of things you have to deal with? I personally like the fight exactly because there's both adds, a boss, and an environmental "hazard" that you have to deal with, which gives the fight depth for me

Fader is pretty good but I'm a big hater of moves where bosses make a big lingering AoE and then just sit in it, so you can't melee them. Fader in particular, but also Yag and Bonemass

Honestly, if it wasn't for the visibility issues due to the mist, Queen isn't that bad. If she escapes and goes up then I am burning a ton of endurance chasing her upstairs.

Queen took me 2x longer than Fader because of that mechanic alone.

I've killed Queen dozens of times (all of the bosses really) and honestly only killed Fader once. So repeated runs may change my opinion but I doubt it.

Some background context is:

1. I enjoy MMO raiding. So things like 'WoW' mechanics are enjoyable to me.
2. I do basically all boss fights as melee (sword+shield) in plate armor. The in and out of mechanics didnt bother me nearly as mich. I agree Yag is mega annoying when he is stationary, hence rating him a solid C.

What makes Fader far better is he actually has more than 3 moves he can use. Yes, if you range him he seems to stick to only those ranged type attacks, but I think I saw at least 7 different moves he might do when get into melee.

Purely on a "number of things he might try and do" basis, its a step above the rest. Queen is harder though, but because of mechanics which take away my enjoyment

I haven't noticed the issue with chasing queen around, but tbh I haven't fought her too many times. I will say the mist can be pretty overwhelming, but I kinda like that because it makes you have to use your smarts and set up some wisp torches (and choose between setting up new ones or keep fending off the enemies if any break)

The mist problem, as little as i could see about Mistlands, is not just about the boss, but the biome in general. I spoilered myself a bit but the fact that whisper torches are the only way to make some visibility and how it makes combat mechanics almost unmanageable, and this without talking about the level design which is basically Mountains with a twist, makes the gameplay more irritating than enjoyable (can t even imagine how the boss will be, yaick). And it s a pity because this mechanic has some real potential to make the experience stressfull, almost horror like. I don t know you, but as musch as i like this game, this for me is just one of the many wasted opportunities. And in my opinion who sayis that it s good because it makes it more interesting, is defending the undefendable

What this game has is that each biome has a catch that forces you to adapt.
In the Black Forrest it's the encounter with the first two (now three) hard hitting monsters. Troll, Greydwarf Brute (and Bear); as well as the first encounter with Poison;
In the Swamp it's the constant wet debuff you need to deal with;
In the Mountains it's the constant cold you need to deal with;
In the Plains you have to deal with the Shaman's protection bubble cast over anything near it; as well as the fireballs thrown at you;
In Mistlands it's the low visibility, which forces you to slow down and rely on other senses. As well as the pressence of "allies." The Soldier and the Gjall have very loud sound and even the seekers have some sounds (kinda like chirping) alerting you from them being there.

To survive you need to adapt or you die.
It's as simple as that.

Mountains seem to be difficult, but there are tricks to deal with them.

To access them: there's always an area where you can simply walk up to higher grounds.
Another way is to use the boulders and small rocks as a spot to stand still to gain stamina.
There's also small areas where you will see snow, which are "flat" enough to regain stamina.
To deal with the cold: campfires will do the trick. The advantage of that is that they also suppress spawn, making that area easier to pass through.
Meaning you can even enter the mountains without the use of potions or wolf clothing.

It really keeps the players engaged, even when progressing well into the biome. I'm sure I could say more easily, but this is what comes to mind immediately.

Alright well that point is confused when you say that you are frustrated, infuriated, and that it is a rage game. Iron Gate gives you the option the ease that challenge on yourself. Suggesting that no one could look you in the eyes and say Iron Gate nailed it is an odd generalization, and only speaks to the experience you're having with their game. for the record i just find that distinction important for bases. imo the best defense is to not give enemies a reason to attack in the first place haha
if all they see is walls, they won't care. they may come over to investigate when you make noise, but they won't attack til they spot a player, tamed animal or some structure they attack on sight (and the latter won't actually put them into combat)
(of course this doesn't work for invasions, invasion enemies are always in combat and aware of your presence as long as they're within some radius (200 meters? i don't remember) of you, so they will attack either way, but prioritize you or tamed animals if they can reach either)

it's a bit of a layered problem.
they receive the same damage increase and stamina cost reduction as all other weapons but both of those benefits are multiplied by their third skill benefit - faster draw speed.
like every other weapon, every arrow shot at level 100 deals more than twice the level 1 damage and costs less stamina to draw
unlike every other weapon, at level 100 you can shoot up to 5 of those stronger arrows in the time it takes you to shoot 1 at level 1, it's unhinged when put next to other weapons
and since you spend less time drawing an arrow, that also further reduces stamina cost on top of the direct stamina cost reduction

there should be a balance of increasing damage and draw speed, this means you're spending arrows five times as fast but still spending the same amount for each kill. I don't want arrows to be consumable but that will probably never change

i'd have it so you craft a single arrow item much more expensive than they are now but shooting spends its durability so you can repair it like any other weapon

it's a gradual thing, you don't go from 100% to 1000+% dps from level 99 to 100

I craft a stack of iron arrows before mountains, obsidian during mountains and flint/wood before then

i usually do poison on the mountain so the draugr fang deals that much more dot

they're very cheap, it takes a while to get through 20 arrows if you're not using a bow excessively. If you are, you deal enough damage for earlier arrows to be worth it

bronze arrows are too expensive but iron/silver arent

most bronze items have a lower metal cost but the arrows are still 1 bar -> 20 arrows

i dont know i feel like its consuming so much time just get the metals to a bench

tooking them to my base and smelting them and making them i think its usualy so much easier to just shoot 3 more fire arrows

i never had a issue about damage output with bows

maybe with gjalls ? they caused me a lot of problem in my first 2 mistland playthrough

often even a weakness to fire doesn't make up for the lower total damage compared to obsidian and needle, a good example being moder

and i have 50 levels bows with my main even tho i played it like 800 days at leasst with that character

to be honest i am not using bows a lot unless its a flying enemy or i am kiting an giant enemy

fair, i'm more of a melee player. However the crossbows are super fun even if bows are better

you can't do anything while they're reloading though, you can roll or jump while charging a bow

nowadays i actually don't use bows at all anymore (yes, some parts of my progression are a train wreck if i'm solo), arbalest is when i start going ranged, love everything about it

i usually just rock a flint spear until i get a iron weapon then i might think about crafting a bow for mountains

sometimes i craft draugr fang because silver's so damn cheap, but because i wasn't using bows at all up to that point, my level is so low that using it feels like wading through molasses, so my go-to strategy for dealing with drakes is to simply keep track of nearby stone golems and essentially say "go bother that guy instead" whenever i encounter one

i am usualy keep using root set until i finish mountains even tho i have a better armors for bow skill levels

i typically run a jack of all trades build and have most of my combat skills level 50 by the time I reach the mistlands

oh i use root too (for the low material cost and pierce resistance), but level 15 is still a pretty slow draw speed and my accuracy could use some improvement
