The set bonus is applied only when you wear the full set, otherwise you just have armor pieces that grant certain amount of armor.

But using bonemass power while using the armor set that grants you slight weaknesses will override those weaknesses and grant slight resistances instead.

You can definitely load a backup save where you haven't gone to the Deep North yet. Although small area revealed might not hurt maybe but if you've revealed too much of it then it might become a problematic when the initial patch is out.

How it has worked so far is when any new content patch (that adds any new POI) is added to the game old worlds generate all unexplored areas to add the new content to it, meaning any areas in unfinished biomes that are explored before the update experience only forced terrain changes but otherwise is left without the new content except mob spawns.

And the forced terrain changes is biggest reason why you should refrain building in any unfinished biomes as any buildings might break due to them.

Do things planted with the cultivator not grow unless players are nearby? Admittedly, I have a mod that's allowing me to plant berry bushes but whenever I log off the dedicated server, the berries aren't growing.

The world is in a sort of suspended state it’s on and everyone that’s got server details can connect straight away without waiting but time will not pass. That’s one of the reasons it’s great to play on a busy server where at least 1-4 or so are always on to make the time go by 🙂

I guess if you're okay with someone constantly online, farming all the resources and skipping ahead of the group. My perspective is that I would rather play solo.

On my server we use some mods and admin tricks to replenish resources that still lets 100% Vanilla players and xbox connect, so plundering resources is not a problem, also won't allow certain things and bosskills until a set date. Works quite well if the ruleset is decent imho.

So for Burial Chambers etc. they can be redone again, no one will miss out, even on slow progression 2-3 weeks between bosses etc.

Also 0% wrong with playing solo, its different to group play but I also have solo worlds I adore and visit still, its a very very fun experience as well and has advantages like not having to feed more than 1 person, not having to make extra weapons and armour for more people etc, but also disadvantages like nobuddy for corpse recovery help and all that.

I'm sure the resetting of resources works good for you guys I just can't deal with it anymore. Enjoyment wise my solo play has been much better than my previous 6 playthroughs with friends.

Fair opinion, for myself I played so much solo at some stage that I have scratched that itch very well already and now prefer playing with others a lot more, but I'm also not stopping the solo completely, a very fun different experience. Also depends on the friends how fun the playing together will be.

As a group of 4 with one person that's constantly on it doesn't work very well progressing to me.

Likely why we never finish a playthrough and the other 2 stop early. It sucks all the fun out when you log on and someone's already fully upgraded 3 tiers ahead of everyone else

I currently have a server with a few players and we started with NoPortal on.
As time has passed, we set conditions and goals to allow 1 Portal between two Main Hubs, unanimously agreed upon.
What I'd like to know is, if there is any way to place one usable Portal while keeping the NoPortal restriction up.
The objective would be for just that one to work.

I've been in the BF for 15 min and encountered 2 bears and they totally wreck

yeh it's a consistent spawn rate, i find it balanced tho, more because of bear's aggroing/chasing pattern than the numbers

(another reason why i'm almost abandoning full deposit mining for copper and just move around more scratching just the exposed top ores)

when splitting damage between mobs with multiple hit rolls, how do you treat it if you have +damage for your attacks, such as fire or traits/professions? do you just decide which die the +dmg goes to after you roll? If for example you have +1 fire and +1 from carpenter prof, and you roll two 1 damage dice for 2 dmg total, it can be 4 to one mob, or 2 to one 2 to the other, or 3 to one 1 to the other? also, i assume carpenter and beserker means each wooden weapon in each hand gets +1 carpentry and +1 flame total of 4 bonus damage, because thats what i’m doing.

Np yeah on your first trip down there I’d take the mats for the generator a portal and a lil hut for a bed. Start with that. When you first land on the ashlands make sure you kill the mobs around the boat. Don’t just run they will detroy the boat. So kill them all first then leave the area and set up camp

Armor wise just make sure your at least wearing the mist lands armor. If you have the frost staff it helps slow their movements down. Giving you more time to figure out the plan

It can be a struggle but that’s what makes the game fun. Wouldn’t be fun if there wasn’t a challenge. I’d still having issues then stop at one of the pillars coming out of the water before land and place a hut and a bed. So you don’t have to make the trip from home every time.

They don't want to rush things, they prefer getting the update as polished as possible so there would be no massive bugs or issues when the update is added to the game, while also fixing some existing bugs/issues and keeping the game stable.
To add, the Deep North update being the 1.0 update which moves the game from Early Access there definitely are more things to finalize than we would realize.

They dont really require much server power, most of calculation is done on players end and then sent through the server to others

Yeah, that is problem of large builds, with lots of instances comes lag, its just bit more pronounced on servers because the data has to travel quite a long way

I have 3 stone towers with 3 floors each. I have build my first base near altar where trophies from world bosses are sacrificed. Second tower I have build on swamps where I can easy reach to swamp, mountain and plains. Third tower recentl;y build did not finished because being kicked. But few dudes flattened entire island for their big home base, so when they came in to server starts to lag like hell. I mean 1-2 second delay every action! That is why I need to know from someone who know this game better than me
