There's "organic" meat nowadays in which the animals live like their ancestors did 200 years ago.
But for some of the more extreme vegans / vegans killing / butchering them is still considered cruelty.

But if you bring up the subject of an animal being killed because it has an accident and would die after suffering a lot anyway, killing it is considered an act of mercy. Yet, somehow, using any of the products of that animal is considered cruel.

Sometimes I think those people missing a whole bag of marbles, not just one. And probably kept the black marble marble. 🙂

  Reasoning:
• Meadows: Excellent exploration, tree chopping and initial settlement game play
• Dark forest: The Atmosphere and the thrill of meeting your first trolls combined with dungeon crawling
• Swamp: Excellent contrast with previous biomes, dark gloomy rotten
• Mountains: Glorious Views, the magnificence of Valheim becomes apparent when on top of a mountain looking in the distance.
• Plains: Excellent serene vast and wide fields, fulling Villages are present and awesome gameplay challenge
• Mistlands: That damn annoying mist and over the top knockback mechanics
• Ashlands: Constant back spawns that kill you out of nowhere completely ruin the mood after dozens of hours of raising the skills.
  Now, I've reached Ashlands 3 times. I cound not get myself a single time to finish it. Not because it's too hard (it is hard, but not impossible), but because it's annoying as hell. Loosing skill points is terrible, and feels awful after such a long grind to raise them. It's so punishing that I stopped playing each time.
  (P.S. In before, "skill issue", "get good", "learn to play", "it's fine" type of comments, I think this discord has fallen under the plague of toxic positivity that has bestowed a large part of the gaming industry in the last decade. What Valheim needs is honesty and truth seeking more than anything right now, in my humble opinion)
  That being said, I'd rate Valheim all the way to plains 10/10 anyday and gladly spend hundreds more hours in it.

They were def cooking all the way up to plains. Direction seemed to get wonky with Mistlands (enemies in Mistlands are still the best out of any biome imo) and wonkier with Ashlands. C'est le vie

I honestly find black forest quite unfun and would rate it the lowest. I dont find trolls nor greydorks very cool enemies and the constant greydork spam when you try to gather any resource is pretty much similar to ashlands with twitchers except greydorks look dorky. Dungeon crawling could be cool but i found my first two burial chamber in the meadows so i dont consider it Black Forest experience.

I totally agree with you on every point except mistlands. Mist is the thing that makes the atmosphere of this biome so unique. As for Ashlands, I reached it and spent 100 days inside not getting a single flammetal for I am killed too many times. I had my fighting skills level up before entering, now I am under 40.

That's a real problem in my opinion. Loosing 50h of skill progression in 2-3h is, and feels awfull. You simply can never get back those skills and all the investment. The mechanic is beyond punishing, it's game ruining.

Honestly I'd rather take a 10% compounding skill reduction on death, that's temporary (10, 20 min whatever) than a permanent 0.5% skill reduction

TBH i played this game 4 years ago because my friend recommend it and look's fun. They constantly yelling like something and making me interested. after 1 week i'm saving (back then when covid hit i struggle making money for game that cost 7 dollars). But after 10 hours playing all my friend abadoned the game because 1 guy being an ashule for trolling (putting The Elder->Yagluth Trophy). It's make me desperate but can't leave the game i buy after saving for 1 week i playing this game alone with countless died, constantly skill drop, freezing to death in the mountain, geting killed by musquito, getting killed again when trying to reclaim the item after 13 minutes of running, get crushed by goblin, get poisoned by leech, getting pounded by meteor and finish the game and exploring deep north and ashland (back then i used Ashland to farm surtling and coal lol). After finishing the game i stop playing this game about 3 years because the development is to slow and return as fresh spawner in late 2024. i was too happy knowing that Mistland and Ashland got an updated and experiencing the same experience 2 years ago about constantly dead because gjall looks like Alien on movie "World at War". If you asking "Is this game worth buying" my answer is yes if you have 1 or more friends and yes if you play solo

In my humble opinion valheim is the perfect recipe for a community game.

Our 10 to 15 people server honestly quit helldivers for valheim. Imho that says a lot.

But single player focused folk can enjoy it too, it's why it's such a great game I love. It caters to both.

Yes, this is the thing that made me love Valheim as soon as i installed it, then the sountrack and the beauty of landscape, then all the rest. It was my second experience in survival genere and couldn't believe my eyes, also lots of fun with couple of close friends from time to time though

But my guy modders have seen the ZDO code for the game. That technical debt is going to sting hard if you try to optimise it at the end.

Honestly the only thing multiplayer needs rn is:

• Optimisation of structure rendering

• Optimization of the net code.

Other than that our sever has been loving every second of it!

We just cry a little when our American community member goes through a boss portal first by accident and becomes host 🤣😭

It would be a huge task to move away from the chunk master model and then put a heavier load on the server which could then have knock-on effects.

there are reasons why we choose the methods we use

we don't force players to be within the same area like ARK does for example

basicly in ARK, you're forced to be within the same area as the host

while in valheim, go wherever on the map you want without limits

Hell me and a friend experimented with the unity Explorer mod for valheim and , whenever folk are sat down in a ship and rubber banding.

We found out that if you are not the host of the ship.and turn off the sync with parent boolean on other players, the rubberbanding is fixed 😅
