I'd have to say all kinds, but they need to be good, I got a very trained palate, do like wheat beers, sours, pilseners also love to drink mead while playing Valheim

in terms of bitterness I like both high and low IBU (International Bitterness Units) beers depending how well its put together

If you can find it you should try Urthel Samaranth its a quadrupel and my favourite beer, another very good beer is Gulden Draak or the brewmasters version of gulden draak.

There are like 1600+ beers in Belgium don't know how it is divided though.

Often times you find the altar itself faster than the vegvisir as they are somewhat rare, altar looks like 5 fingers reaching from the ground into a sky and it has tendency to be at looking distance from sea but its not a rule per say

and I think it's more common to find the boss before the vegvisir

We took several approaches to get to the beach, set up workbenches on the spires as we went, and reversed in, so that we could exit more easily if needed. Eventually we got to a spire close enough to the beach to build a platform from and then floated on over to the beach.

There’s a middle ground that achieves the same thing without the cheese. Build a little base on a krausen building that’s offshore. They are quite common I found

With drakkar? Not at all. I still had more than half durability/health when i was going there first time iirc, and that was after 2 bonemaws and around dozen voltures, if you for ease of mind repair after every bit of dmg i get it, i often do it too, but its hardly necessary 🤷‍♂️

It is, but if it's actually beached, it's probably shallow enough for you to get all its materials back if you chop it up. I had to do that at my first ashlands landing.

It was absolutely necessary for us. I think it likely depends on clear the route is. We did recon. And though we didn’t sail the entire length of the transition from normal to boiling water, we found a couple of spots the looked promising. We had a patch of Mountains from which we could see a sizeable gap in the spires. And we could even quite easily make out what appeared to be land in the distance. But after several failed attempts, getting part way there, seeing the path ahead, but having to retreat due to boat health being below 50%, we then tried putting down workbenches, and then we made it. IIRC, we only needed 2 or 3 benches, and we dropped anchor at a spire near the beach, rather than sailing all the way on to the beach, as I’ve said before.

Well part of my point is that I wouldn’t consider dropping a couple of workbenches just on the route in to the Ashlands to be littering them.

Like, I don’t generally use them purely for spawn suppression. That I feel is cheesy.

That said, I have started dropping campfires actually in the Ashlands. Because it feels necessary to take and hold ground there, rather than just pass through, as you do in all the other biomes.

I faced at least 6 bonemaws on my first trip into Ashlands. I did repair the ship, because I'm cautious, but I didn't absolutely have to (each one did less than 10% damage, and some didn't even get that chance). If you're actually prepared for the biome and quick with the bow or crossbow, they aren't likely to take out the drakkar. But, yeah, if you fireball your own ship I guess all bets are off.

it's usually the players panic / bad driving that cause it to take damage, but most of the time, you get worked up for nothing since the boat can take ALOT of punishment 😄

my experience was pretty similar to Epichron's, except throw in a few hordes of vultures as well (I legit thought the ashlands was nothing but sea rocks for a while after finding puffs etc. on the rocks as far as the eye can see) -- getting the ship to the shore was the easy part, if a bit tedious because the ludicrous size and small gaps between rocks -- only used 3 to 5 workbenches tops

Grab a silver sword level 4 and shield level 3 or such, drink fire resistance barley wine and eat Lox Pie and Blood pudding and third food either bread or fish wraps/serpent stew, be rested and start in the morning wacking him. (Ensure tar pits and fuling camps nearby and also lox are all cleared beforehand). Hide behind the pillars during meteors, dodge his stuff and try to wack him a lot with the silver sword, which is the best weapon for him.

Yeh, that's one thing I find unintuitive - Trolls won't engage Greydwarves, and Lox won't engage Fulings. But, Skeletons will try and own a troll; or, wolves will savage a fuling.

But, more broadly, I hate that games don't consider relative power when determining level of aggro - Would a Greyling really try to attack a Viking in carapace armour & wielding Mistweaver? It doesn't seem particularly complex to me to code a relative threat level into the aggro algorithm. I'd expect that, by the time I'm geared and exploring Mistlands, that a Greyling is much more likely to try and avoid me than engage me.

This is generally a connection issue. There is some peer-to-peer communication in the game, so you want the person with the best connection to go into a new area first. But, generally, use a wired connection, rather than wifi, if at all possible. And ensure you have good pings between you all.
