Random thought, I kind of wish Valheim had decided to use a different measurement system. Partially since the metric system feels a bit out of place, but also because having most things be in a number of meters is a bit rough for a lot of purposes. So I looked up measurement systems on Wikipedia, it mentions that old Scandinavian measurement systems also used units like, feet, as well units called alen, a forearm's length, equal to two feet, or about 62 cm. Which kind of makes me wish the game was based around these. Imagine if instead of 1 and 2m walls, we had 1, 2 and 4 alen walls. With a character height of 180cm, that means short doors would be 3 alen, a comfortable room height would be 4 alen, similar to real room heights. This would be much more efficient than the 4mm tall rooms lots of people tend to make, and you could easily make 6 or 8 alen tall rooms if you really want that camera space, but the shorter rooms would be way more efficient for multi-story buildings, and it would be easier to make stuff like windows without them being crazy large or small.
(Not to say I think this change could be implemented, just a thought)

Some count the smaller tiles as 1, some count the larger wall segments as 1, some count by the in-engine units, in which case a big wall is like 256 units. So I'm at least glad we're not in that boat with Valheim ^^

Stagger is a timebased "stun" where the enemy takes double damage. The modifiers add how long stagger is. Backstab is sneak attack damage that the modifier multiplies on unsuspecting foes. Like knives do 6x damage

W increases the level of the sail. With one ^ the sail is still furled but you paddle, so you will always be able to move, if slowly. Then you can go to half-furl, and fully unfurled. Those don't help if you're trying to sail against the wind, though, they are only useful when the wind is blowing close enough to a direction you want to go.

Just "use" the ladder and you should climb on board. Then make sure you use the rudder at the back to control it, don't grab the mast.

Remember, the raft is not great for ocean voyages 😉 Be very careful going into any heavy seas with it, it should really only be used if you absolutely have to. You can build better boats once you get access to bronze in the Black Forest.

Huh. Figured the turnips would be starchy enough without taters but I could go full kjötsúpa and toss potatoes in with some pearled barley and see how it goes.

Might need to cut back on the thyme and such if I'm using garlic with the mushrooms tho. Tbh never really cooked with mushrooms beyond wok stuff so I don't know how they work with everything yet.

Red wine (mead is also possible)
Onions
Mushrooms
Flour (corn strach)
Cranberry jam (or fresh ones)
Dijon mustard
Stock (chicken)
Unsalted butter

Optional ingredients (you will need some of these but not all, depends on what you want to add for taste):
Bayleaves
Cloves
Thyme
Cinnamon stick
Pimenta, allspice or Jamaica pepper corns
Juniper berries and rosemary

Start with opening the wine or mead so it can breath and pour yourself a glass.

cut the meat in cubes
cut the other ingredients
sear the meat
set the meat aside
deglaze the pan with about 250ml of wine / mead
sauté the vegetables in a pot that will be used to let the stew simmer in (can be done while searing the meat)
add the meat to the vegetables
add some flour depending on the thickness of the sauce you want add more or less (can be changed with corn starch, pureed shrooms or a mashed tater)
add the rest of the wine (minus another glass for yourself) and the wine of deglazing the pan
Add spices to taste
Let it simmer on low heat for at least 1h 30min
Periodically taste and adjust if needed and check sauce thickness.
After 90 minutes check if the meat is tender enough if so ready to serve if not, let it simmer longer.

Nutty croquettes: Mashed potatoes, seasoned with salt, pepper and nutmeg, add in egg yolk, so it is nice and sticky, roll into balls, put on baking paper and put that in the refrigerator till cold.
Blitz up some nuts that you want, walnuts and hazelnuts work well, add some breadcrumbs about 1/3th of the amount of nuts.
Beat up an egg, roll the cold potato balls in the beaten egg, roll the ball in the nut breadcrumbs mix, put them back into the refrigerator and when it is cold again give it another coating of the nut breadcrumb mix (2 coatings minimum but you can add more), back into the refrigerator,
Deep fry or bake the potato balls till golden brown in a pan with a good amount of oil, drain the balls and transfer them to a basket with some paper towels in to drain more of the oil, sprinkle coarse sea salt over them and serve.

I had to look up the definition of cozy, since it somehow always associated with tight and small places for me and i always tend to build as small as possible buildings

There is no link inbetween small/tight spaces and coziness yet my mind somehow associates something being cozy as small, enclosed, tight space

I think it's not explicitly true, but it often is by implication. But an open field can be "cozy" if it's welcoming and comforting, especially if it's familiar.
