This might be a contriversal opinion, the the iron grid realllly slowed down my wife's and I enjoyment of the game last time we played. Sailed 15 minutes if the wind is right to get to a dangerous swamp that had only enough for 1 item and then sail 15 minutes back sucked. Not being able to teleport I understood at first but became less tolerant of.

Has that changed at all?

There’s world modifiers now to allow metal transport and you can up the resource rate as high as 3x to lower your grind time

every time ive done an iron run ive been able to completely fill my longboat half way or more. Crypts give ton of iron and as long as you bring poison resist you should be mostly fine

the swamp is still the hardest difficulty curve in the game though imo

You can get some pretty fun mods aswell

@wintry lance there’s also a world seed viewer that’s been out for awhile if you ever want to make sure you’re not wasting your time sailing a certain way but it’ll spoil all the exploration for you. It does list all the crypts so you can make sure a swamp has an adequate amount of iron before going to it

Wanted to bring it home, but no portaling, so I ran around this very tiny island trying to just SCRAPE enough mats for a little raft. I have now officially killed my first 5 dragons in Skyrim Legendary Survival Perma-death and I'm closing in on maxed out Block, Heavy Armour and Restoration.

i was lvl 68 in skyrim before i found out dragons were in the game

I stay far away from the main story until I've gained quite a few skills and levels

Getting ragdolled by explosions is my favorite part

Turning a corner and taking a missile to the face launching you off a cliff is top tier comedy

One of my favorite parts is how you’re just a normal soldier not some super soldier like master chief so you can and will die to the smallest dumbest things

Like stepping on a land mine is an insta kill

Luckily being respawned takes about 5 seconds if your teammates pay attention and are good at the reinforce combo

15 hours on steam but only 9 1/2 are time in missions. That’s from failures to join, hosts leaving, getting kicked as you join, struggling to find a full team

I mean I’ve gotten a few but more often than not you end up with less

And the games made to be played in a squad so higher difficulties which have resources exclusive to them aren’t viable to play alone
