Well the game does have a modding api, but its basically for community sponsored modding support, aka not officially provided by the studio, but can even see in some patch notes mentions of it, usually about the modding api they add to the game to help with modding
But I do know what you mean, there was talk about official modding support, aka actual modding directly integrated with the game, that would in theory require no third part apps or plugins to make mods, but so far that has yet to material, if it ever does
I mean the question about modding api was more like an example question bcs i know there is a community made modding api at this time. I am interested in the future of the game in general, like if any new update is planned/being worked on in general. Basically is anything confirmed?

I tried doing a circular cannon using the hypertube junction new feature which I believe would allow for extreme acceleration with just two entrances!! but it's so hard to control it, have anyone tried something similar yet? I have this, Blueprint is the Concrete with the pipe supports. They do not auto-connect when I put down the blueprint. And yes. I did select "Mode: Auto-connect"

one thing to note is that there are two auto-connect modes
default and 'blueprint'
blueprint is for when you want blueprints to be adjacent to each other and the blueprint has the belt/rail/pipe right at the blueprint boundary

what do I do if my coal node is about 500 meters away from my production space? do I just build the generator near the coal and just spam power lines to my base or do I use a 500meter conveyer belt?
always simplest to build coal power plant next to water, and move the coal by belt towards the water
(belts are simpler than pipes)
powerlines in this game are simple with no limits so the power grid is easy
so basically the former but think about the water as well

What I have just figures out (and haven't been able to see this documented) is that the blueprint has to include the pipes/belts. Not just the connectors.

What biome did you start in? There’s an ideal coal power location in each starter biome that has coal and water close together

By that definition, drones? The ports can be placed anywhere and the drones fly between them. But they have to be powered so they will require power lines run to them
Which is what just dawned on me. Does make it a bit less efficient to do long runs with max distance between constructions.
I have a pure coal node about 100-150 meters away from water so that should be easy, the only problem I had was transporting either the energy to my base (near water) or transfering coal to my base so I can make the generators near me

@frozen ingot Check screenshots again. I'øve added these "loops" on one side of my BP. Then it auto-connects. I delete the loops, and can continue with the next bp. Rinse and repeat.

On the west coast? There is a lake with a big waterfall just inland of you with four normal coal nodes
for a big ol' bunch of pipes like that you just need a single blueprint and blueprint (not default) auto connect mode
so i use 2 normal nodes near me than 1 pure node far from me?
Four normal nodes will be enough for plenty of coal power, especially if you overclock your miners. Save the pure coal node for steel production

Just remember that if you do that, it's highly advised to leave it at just the single train going across that section of track. Introducing a second train on the line will make things more difficult (though not impossible)

Heavy Oil Residue, Diluted Packaged Fuel, Recycled Rubber and Recycled plastic
depends on what you want really. There are a few that give you bigger yield, there are some that save space, some that save power, some that reduce complexity, etc.
They're more complicated but a lot more efficient. So at the start I suggest you use defaults cause they're easier, but they're expensive so it'll be easier to use alts if you need a lot of oil products

How much oil can I extract from a single field?
Get the jetpack and packaged liquid biofuel for it. It's the best fuel you'll get for it for a while
A pure one
And if you need power, make fuel, not turbofuel. Unless you want to get the most power from your oil and/or have coal and sulfur nearby. Turbofuel is generally not worth the effort if you can afford the oil cost of regular fuel

generally the best hint I can give is: play the game on your own and only ask if you have issues. Don't let other people spoil the fun of learning from you 😉
especially in a sandbox game where everyone plays differently, it's much better to learn on your own and apply your own playstyle, rather than following tutorials and such from other people and playing the game in their way

I have 2 pure, and 2 normal iron nodes nearby, with lots of coal and lots of oil
Also 1 pure and normal copper ore, which is pretty nice to have nearby for things like wire and copper rolls

manually every one or dismantle a group and check for sloops in the generated dismantle crate
Yeah, I now scanned all machines with F in my factories, I just wondered if it could be done faster.
you can dismantle on SCIM, and you get the crate that you can check and then just reload the save to undo

usually you need as many sloops to get double as the machine has input ports
My save feels kind of broke tbh, my space elevator top part despawns randomly sometimes lol, and when it comes back it stays above me even though the space elevator is far away
I usually leave a free standing one near my hub w a sloop loaded in, and then just rotate the recipe for slugs to power shards, remains to protein, and protein to DNA capsules
Oh and if I deconstruct something, I lose all the items

There’s a setting in 1.1 that consolidates dismantle crates, your stuff is probably somewhere nearby
so all your items are probably in some random crate 100m away

Nah, it's just a way to have "clean" nuclear while also taking advantage of the power gains from Plutonium
Without Ficsonium, the only other "clean" nuclear option is to produce Plutonium rods but then sink them instead of using them for power

If you make Plutonium rods, you can either sink them for a "clean" nuclear solution (in which case you get no power gains from using Plutonium, since you're just getting rid of it), or burn them in Nuclear Power Plants for even moar power.
If you do choose to burn the Plutonium Rods, you're left with Plutonium Waste -- the only two options at that point are: 1) Store it forever, or 2) Process into Ficsonium for a "clean" solution, and a bit more power

The diagrams for coal gens generally focus just on the water delivery, since that's usually the trickier bit. For water, I'd agree with bones that it's best to stick to individual 8:3 setups
For the coal delivery, yeah, you can send the output of a miner to however many groups-of-8 you want; that's definitely quite common

But even if you've got a single miner supplying (for instance) four banks of 8 coal gens, I'd still recommend having an individual 3 extractors for each set of 8, on pipes that are isolated to just that group of 8:3
Anyone been having issues with truck stations not wanting to activate to load and unload?
If you're manually hitting load/unload while recording a path, don't worry about it -- it does seem to act a little strange when doing it manually, but you hitting the load/unload button while recording literally doesn't alter the path recording at all
Instead what happens is that whenever your path goes into a station's loading area, the path will end up with a yellow "pause" node, and any vehicle on that path will follow whatever the station's setting is (whether it's load or unload)
You can later go in and edit the yellow pause node to alter how long the vehicle stays there; the station will transfer items at a rate of 2 stacks per second
(So a fully-laden tractor would need 12.5 seconds of wait time)
The load/unloads you do manually literally don't matter at all to the path recording

Pumps are cheap; not worth trying to minimize the number of 'em. If in doubt just put 'em a bit lower and use another one if you have to. :)
Always best to just never exceed the headlift. Just put the pump a bit lower, and add a seond later if needed.

You do technically have slightly more headlift range than the pumps tell you, fwiw
You can push the limits slightly and have it be fine. Like for fluids coming out of machines, the actual headlift limit is closer to 12m than the stated 10m
But makes things much easier when never 'chanced'.
But, as I say, I tend to just stay within the advertised limits anyway; just not worth the fuss of trying to minimize the pumps. :P
Best bet is to always place it just below if you get the blue bubble
(My usual strategy is actually to try and avoid needing pumps in the first place, but that's more of a design decision)
But like the 20.6 that the screenshot was showing would actually probably be just fine, in the end, technically

What is the most efficient Heavy Modular Frame recipe? default and alts. I have some rubber to spare but dont want to use it unless it is exceptionally more efficient to use it.
I use a combination of alt recipes. That only require iron. No coal needed. Heavy encased frame, iron pipe, encased industrial pipe, and steeled frame to make my heavy modular frames. Than also stitched iron plates with iron wire alt to eliminate screws as well.
Idk I just hate having to run an extra conveyor for making stuff

You can use a custom config in 1.0 or 1.1 and it sucks less, but it still has major issues like light not travelling as far as it should and going through an 8 meter thick foundation because it's limited to software lumen.

Well after 400 hours, I finnally had to learn exactly what the valve's flow rate limiter was for, lol. I spent 2 hours trying to figure out why my aluminum production kept stopping and going. Water junction flow rate was overloaded.
You can manipulate clockspeeds to have a completely separate set of refineries (waste and freshwater) for processing bauxite.
Or, if you want to recycle, the best best is to make sure that incoming fresh is not greater than (total needed) - (waste produced.)
Valves are not a reliable system and are very finicky. If you have r to direct feed waste into fresh a VIP junction is more reliable
Evem the fabled VIP can fold up big time if there is a snag anywhere.
But not mixing them is objectively the most reliable and unbreakable option

I.E. if you are producing 500 sloppy, which needs 500 water, and your're using properly clocked electrode scrap making 350, then you ONLY need to pump in 150 fresh.
You still need to learn to juggle, just with clocks instead, there is a working system involving an unpowered pimp and a large buffer that causes an alternate approach to priority input, I didn't go with it due to the larger footprint and I hadn't learned of it until I placed 140 refineries and the needed smelters upstairs.
But, no matter how you look at it with recycling, never try to pump in more that (total needed) -(waste produeced) an you can't go wrongh.

I believe its because they are lightweight buildables now, and those allowing them to have such customization likely wouldn't work as a lightweight buildables, this in turn would result in walls in general being less optimized, having larger memory foot print, etc

The only requirement is an abyss.
- Wait for the small waste container to fill up
- Make a "Tractor"
- Add fuel to it and make sure the back is empty
- Mark the waste container for demolition (ctrl key in demolition mode)
- Approach the tractor from behind
The following must be done as quickly as possible if you do not have a suit or iodine filters: - Break the container
- Put the waste in the back
- Get into the tractor. Radiation in transport does not bite (relevant for version update 4)
- Drive to the abyss and get out at full speed before the cliff.
That's it, there is no more waste (the main thing is that there is no ledge in the depths where the tractor can fall).

the game forces you to spread out. Use distant coal for power, nearby for steel
you'll want to find a group of 3-4 nodes next to water some distance away. Every start zone has at least one spot like that nearby.
