why am i at max radiation despite not being near radiation or having uranium in inventory
If you resist the urge to centralize, each new factory you make is a chance to avoid mistakes you made earlier on (and make all-new fun mistakes instead!)
save/reload should fix it
One thing that persists radiation is if you sort your inventory with radioactive items in there; the radiation will stick around until the session is reloaded
Also sometimes when you remove uranium ore deposits, the environmental radiation doesn't go away without a reload
so satisfying when you do the calculations for something and the numbers all just work

what id recommend, is lots of smaller factories, if you want everything in one place, use trains to bring the finished product from those factories to a storage hub rather than bringing unprocessed ores to a mega factory

You'll probably find yourself in situations where you need 1 or more whole belts for individual processes, so having the belts just snake around everywhere is a little pointless
tbf with the new production speed tracker it has a purpose now
if you have a big stack of belts you can monitor all the throughputs

it also makes less sense because you can build in multiple floors in satisfactory
so your extra belts can just feed a system almost on the same spot

I haven't added them to my existing factories yet, but I'd probably use them for the final outputs, or where there's some tricky splitting or merging going on.
Although with the priority merger that's WAY less of an issue now, and the place I could've used a throughput monitor can now be massively simplified by a priority merger rather than needing a merry-go-round of regular splitters and mergers.

I tend to math everything out for 100% effiency anyway (up to the point where the storage backs up anyway, then straight into the sink), so they're not super useful in general.

im not sure what the purpose of trucks are when they are around the same tier as trains. Trucks are slower, use fuel and prone to have issues. Trains are faster, not buggy and use no fuel. I see no reason to ever use a truck?

i think the one in the lake is a normal node and its the easiest to spot. But theres like a pure one at higher elevation near it. Idk about the third one

I think what you're remembering may be the way down into the lake, that one has both spider dens (gas things) and a big one on the road

most of the tiny outcrops are scattered in small nooks
and it'll be impossible to get things like oil products or gas
yeah, there are a significant amount of plastics etc at crash sites, we'll see how far that gets me; but haven't found any SAM which has been annoying
don't forget that you can buy things from the awesome shop once you have them unlocked

Well I have quite a few issues with 1.1 even without mods so, not surprised
For example it just crashed again at the games main menu with a fatal error, this is very stable build as it turns out
Yeah I haven't had alot of issues even since 1.0 released only issue I've had was a mod that didn't like 1.1 and so I started new playthrough since I don't want my old one to get corrupted...sooo yeah we shall see...starting over is a pain but it is what it is lol

What's your pipe layout like? You're not trying to put more fluid through than the pipes can handle?
Alternatively, try putting a fluid buffer at the end of the line. That may help with sloshing

@foggy lynx you're not exceeding the head lift capacity of the water generators are you?
If it's going up >10m (or even close to 10m) you'll need to add a pump.
From memory the pipe floor holes are problematic too, so if I were you I'd avoid using them and simply clip the pipes up through the foundations.
You can always nudge one after the fact so it looks nicer, just without the pipes actually being connected to it.

Pipes aren't directional like conveyors, so sloshing, priority (due to gravity), etc. can be an issue

The issue with pipe floor holes IIRC is that they count as the "end" of a segment, and that can cut off the head lift at that point.

the only pipes that are full are the ones that havent been split off
If all felse fails Weldo, try simplifying the number of inputs and outputs on each line. Rather than running all your generators off a single manifold, use more than one.
e.g. at the moment it looks like you have >300/min worth of water total in your manifold despite it only using Mk1 pipes. Even with those multiple inputs and outputs along it, it might cause issues.
What I'm suggesting is split it up so you have, say, 2.5 water extractors doing 300 into a single pipe and using that to feed however many generators use that much water
And then repeat that manifold separately for the next set

well what i did was fed a 300 pipe into 3 machines that needed 90 water per minute, i dont understand how the math there didnt work

Try separating so you have one pipe for each block of machines without connecting the blocks together

My saves are over 25mb, approaching 30mb, spanning over the entire map world....
keep in mind not everyone sees the same performance regressions or improvements, hardware is never identical, i have games that run like actual dosgit and other peoples games are flawless

Other people that tested those saves have also been able to reproduce my results, with the stuttering so I doubt asking one more person will shed more insight, its definitely not isolated to my hardware configuration only given other people can reproduce it also

If you could get a RGB strip that is like a beam but with narrower diameter, that could reduce the amount of signs in use, I think.

@sterile blade You know looking at this it might be a consequence of them fixing the blurry images, that likely had optimization benefits and having to load in the higher quality images is likely pushing vram usage to high now. In that save I'm seeing 14.9gb vram usage, which is pretty high
It honestly could be the performance issues are a consequence of them trying to fix the blurry images with the signs, but the problem is the higher res images is taxing on the engine and vram usage, which is leading to these performance issues present in the save
In other words, having blurry images as much as some people didn't like it, honestly was needed for sign optimization, thats now gone, hence the saves now run worse
I know devs dont check discord out much but I want to commend them on a good design choice; when you start working oil at first, heavy oil residue can be turned into coke that can be used in coal generators to make extra power that is good enough of its own until you can do the fuel gen milestone

anyone be able to provide some insight? I read the fluid manual but my coal generators seem to be lacking fluid half the time...

so that would require 900 water/m
supplying it by 3 pipes all at 300 water/m
the required water is 900/m, 3 pipes of 300/m so 3x 900/m
or is that just a "theoritical" supply and not what the game actually gives

It's hard to tell from your screenshots but there are really only 2 possible problems here I think, either A: there is a section or more of pipe somewhere that you're trying to push more than 300/m through, or B: headlift issue

If you want power the easiest option is the nitro rocket fuel alt
much more complicated recipe and it produces nuclear waste which needs to be recycled into plutonium or store it to the edge of the map, the radiation can kill you if you dont have hazmat suit
each npp produce 2500MW at normal clock speed
(and you also need a lot of water)

Keep pumps at around 90% of their rated head lift
If you place the hologram on the pipe and press H to lock the hologram, it will show you the head lift along the pipe.
Best if you make sure they're all equal and as close to 90% as you can

It's probably the keyboard layout tbh. If your layout in windows doesn't match your actual keyboard, issues are expected
