If you’re not saying her invited that’s it an epic game issue that’s a Xbox or PlayStation issue.
As for not seeing their world. This isn’t Minecraft with realms there is no dedicated world so the other person would HAVE to be on and in the game for you to join. Most of the time at least on Xbox you need an invite anyway. As I said in your not seeing a inv that’s a console issue. Unless your playing thru pc as there’s no need for a epic account on the game unless your on pc
Kinda hate how this server operates in just asking for help in your world they are so demanding on using LFG when how they allow LFG to work is TERRIBLE if your on tomorrow night I’m on Xbox but can use dc to take a look but I’m really not the best at it so by all means if you find someone more confident chances are they are better then myself 🤣

Is it fine to put more input than your current belts can handle? I thought I had 4 impure nodes but turns out its 6, i only have a mk2 belt so i'd have an extra 60 on it
The 60 obviously won’t be used but it’s not like it’s gonna hurt. If anything you can expand your project to accommodate the extra 60 and when you get better belts simply upgrade. Working on a massive iron plant where each belt will run 1200 per min even tho I don’t have that unlocked yet

No, the cross-console crossplay issues for some have not changed.
Im building one in the Rocky Desert at the minute. Lots of Iron, Copper, and LimeStone and you can build an oil highway from the spire coast to the North of Rocky Desert. Bauxite in the swamp to the south. All in all a pretty decent place.
It really depends what you are looking for. If i were to build something Really big id like a bowl to do it in. Somewhere like the desert canyons. so you can make the part of it level with the canyons walls on either side.
if you want a good view you can really build anywhere and just go up

no i think the steel finish is your only option
although they may sneak that feature in at some point. They have yet to annouce you can paint rails in 1.2 but you can paint them the metalic colours.

Anyone got suggestions for lighting I am on Xbox series X and my frame rates drop drastically whenever I turn on my lights
Honestly that can be a problem even on PC, depending on hardware, etc. I actually just got used to literally having my flashlight on all the time, awhile ago. There was a specific patch during Update 8 development where things just got darker in general
Other than that, it can help to use windows instead of walls, and make sure that your buildings aren't too "deep" in both directions, so there's decent natural light all around. Doesn't help the stuff that's in shadow anyway, but that's what the flashlight's for. :D
Is there a way to get conveyor belts up a ramp?
ya, place a conveyor pole on the base of the ramp and at the top then connect the two

you can do the same for rails when you get there make the minimum length rails just going over the base of the ramp then run it most the way up (leave a half foundation of ram) then make a new short rail cresting the ramp and minimum length. this prevents clipping
(note rail only like 1m and 2m ramps)

hi another quick question is it more productive to use better nodes for materials needed to progress through the tiers? for example i need to be building modular frames and rotors, so should i dedicate a pure iron node to building the factories to build modular frames & rotors or is it fine to dedicate the pure iron node to producing basic matierals for storage (like iron plates and iron rods)
doesnt matter. as long as you get the ore you need.
what are you supposed to do with far nodes?
i found like 3 different areas, one had 3 pure nodes but its about 1000 meters away

i just unlocked the foundry and steel requires iron and coal, so does that mean i would have to connect the two across long distance? or find a place with both nodes close by
if you started in the grasslands i usually use the coal node to the south and south west. The SW one has lots of irn near

im trying to add more coal generators cause i need more power but i normally do a 2:1 ratio with water extracters but my head lifts are saying that they're exceeding their recommended head lifts?
im not sure what it means though i only have one water extractor using the pipes

Water extracters can lift water up to 10m
Then u have to add pumps if u wanna go higher
For your specific issue I suggest reading the 18page manual on fluid physics for the game, if your running into flow issues because of head lift make a water tower, or simply just make an inverted u bend above all the inlets of your coal plants, and pump the water up and over then back down. Because water always wants to be level now you won’t have head lift issues, and if your working with mrk 1 pipes, only make one water tower just make the outlet of it right back next to the pump so all other pipes take advantage of that lift
I’m a fluid geek for some reason, and fluids in this game can get so annoying

If you raising your pipes above where your extractors are then you have to supplement the lift with pumps. There’s a fancy snap point you can use but everything I’ve seen on YouTube is to put your pumps just below that(3-6ish meters?) and rinse repeat until your fluids are where they need to be. Also look into “Water Towers” as they may help you with what you’re making?
The thing with pumps is that they frequently say they are exceesing their limit when you snap them to the recommended points, but thats technically a kind of display error

Unfortunately i found the opposite to be true, those snap points kept going past the limit, well this is on pc,maybe console is different?
I ended up stop using those snap points, because it results in pipes that didnt work
They say they exceed the limit but i ran tests and they effectively goof up and start counting the wrong height.
In some cases, they start reading how full the next pump is even though they shouldnt
All i know is my pipes stopped working and those were attached at the snap points so...
I even readded them at the snap points because i thought it was super weird, but same result
The best i could tell the snap points were slighty more than where it should have been, to not exceed the limits

I made a stupid idea of how to keep my world fun after finishing Project Assembly: something I call ConRAD. Don’t ask, but I am planning to make an awesome sink and just start randomising things to sink into it like a contract machine.
Does anyone have the problem when you are trying to build something with an input or output, that it will turn to every side but the one you need and then refuse to go to it? Because its gonna drive me insane.
Bug with one specific orientation of foundation at 45 degree angle from cardinal directions.
Remove and replace the foundation, they do have four orientations.
Returned bug in (console) 1.1 after getting fixed earlier.

The snap points for vertical fluid lift work on console (Xbox) as long as you don't power them until after all are placed.
Currently have a series of mk1 pumps that are pushing the 200m mark. The loop at the top is non-negotiable.
Vertical fluid lift?
Using the inline pumps, fluid can be lifted (pushed) 20m vertically per mk1 pump. Machines only give 10m lift from the output side. If you want to build vertical you need something (inline pumps) to push.
I'm close to the mk2 size pipes. Can't wait to see how much they f*** my grand plans
So I’m trying to build more “vertically” because I’m so sick and tired of not having enough space for factories on the ground. But I have no idea how to start building vertical. Mainly because I don’t know to do a vertical manifold.

each blueprint has an in and out at the top and bottom. Connect them all vertically as you desire and you just end up with super tall buildings with the footprint of a single blueprint. I have tons of them now.

Do you have a tutorial for how to make the blueprint for in the MK1 planner?
I usually start with a 1M foundation floor, build layer of machines, make a floor above, and so on.
I typically will use 18 constructors, 30 smelters, 9 foundries, or 6 assemblers in the Mk1 blueprint. But I also like to build specialized blueprints per each assembled item. I.e. I have a blueprint that makes motors only using iron ingots. Once you have a few blueprints set up, it’s not too hard to change them slightly and save as a new one.
Then I build walls which act as the “support” for the floating floors.
Avoid using vertical splitters in the blueprinter and test them after saving it.

hi, is it better to separate each materials production? im doing the milestones and stuff and i need steel beams & pipes, i have a steel beam factory and its 30 beams per minute, i used a calculator and it said if i add steel pipes to it they both can produce 22 per minute, wouldn't it be more efficient i guess to have both of them being produced by the same factory area?

And is often used in pull configuration for fuel etc.
Where the port with items being input doesn't have drone by itself, but multiple droens go there to get that item.

You can get Explosives pretty early on, btw, though you need steel to actually build 'em. Once you find some sulfur in the world, start researching it in your MAM. :)

The rocks which block progression (like sealing up cave entrances or blocking access to nodes or items) have a distinctive "cracked" appearance
Though you can also often destroy other smaller rocks around the map too
I was going through the wrong area lol, I had built ramps down towards the hole though since I found out thats where the SAM was and I was able to get enough to research the dimensional depots and stuff.

Personally I like floor holes for both pipes and lifts, and other things that add functionality to the game. After I get those I like cement foundation (removes metal from foundations but at the cost of more cement)
Nothing from the shop is actually required so in the end it's whatever you want. Personally, catwalks are usually one of my first purchases

You've got 2km of vertical space to work with, should you want to. You're not required to build vertically but it gives you a lot more options while building
Personally I dislike the "skybase" type thing where you've got factories literally floating above terrain, but I do like multistory factories which are integrated into their environment. (Obvs all that is just personal aesthetic choices)

Also yeah I heard it gives you more options, I would have the concrete foundations under it though, I don't like factories with no surface either 😅
Oh, just, like, making an effort to make sure it looks "nice" with the local geographical features, etc. Following contours of the land, keeping trees and such around as decorative elements, etc, etc

IMO there's no better teacher than practice + experience. Go make some mistakes and then try to do better next time. :)
#design-and-architecture might be able to give you some better pointers
One general bit of advice is to make smaller independent factories for each product you make, going from ore->final-product. (And then once that factory's done, you never touch it again. When some other factory needs more of that resource, you just make more of it right inside that new factory.) That's something I generally recommend with folks struggling with general expansion + complexity, but IMO it's great for iterating on your design skills, too
'cause if you're doing a lot of littler factories, then:
A) You're not bound by any past "mistakes." If an approach you take in one factory turns out to not work so well, you can do something totally different the next time without having to work around everything you did last time.
B) Having a smaller project to try stuff on tends to be easier in general
I have been doing mini factories for every material I needed to be created but I know it'll get harder/more complex as I further progress, but I'll try my best to build to my imagination then just visit here if things get stuck! Thanks for your help!

Havent played since 100%ing the game on release. Have they added anything substantial re the lights looking pretty bad & the colours at +/- 1000 on foundations like pc have? Ive seen the 1.2 stuff and am considering another playthrough

Vehicle rework treats trucks more like trains for automation is the highlight.

No, snap-to-world-grid can't be enabled by default; have to hold down a button to do it
(although also: free yourself from World Grid! You don't need it. Build to a local grid for a factory, sure, but there's never a need to use world grid. If you do later decide you want to hook up remote factories via foundation, there's a lot of techniques to merge grids cleanly, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX_2i8T3Dbw)
So I know priority mergers basically prioritize sides of the input to merge based on how you set the sides. But I don’t know what I’d use a priority merger for? Could someone explain it to little ole stupid me?
It's a very niche buildable, honestly. The fact that it wasn't introduced until v1.1 is a good indication that it's not been a vital part of Satisfactory factory infrastructure for the majority of the game's lifetime
But it can be used in some specific cases, for folks who want it. If you're looping back "waste/recycled" byproducts/items or whatever and want to ensure those are processed first, for instance. Certain kinds of "bus" designs (which many of us recommend against, but some folks like building 'em anyway), etc. :)
So basically something I don’t necessarily need to worry about.
In the end, just an option available for folks who want it, etc

The game is very well optimized on PS5, no frame rate drops, no freezes, etc. The game is really good on console
more often than not games will run better/more consistently on console than pc
I’m on an Xbox X with over 400 hours (a lot afk) but the only difference I’ve noted is the autosaves take longer. Not long. Just longer.
It depends on what you build
You can beat the game on console if you only build the bare bones of what you need (like just foundations and machines basically) but if you try to build stuff to make your factories look nice the game will eventually crash when it tries to save
First it'll crash inconsistently but then it'll start crashing every time

So you just have to build very minimally
I haven't really decorated yet for that reason - I also wonder if my decision to go nuclear - which has a lot of moving parts but overall fewer buildings impacts. Whether having conveyor belts or trains makes a difference to the computation etc.
There are so many worlds you can build - you cannot do a mega factory maybe but hopefully I can beat the game then go back and decorate without worrying too much.
This isn’t true at all
I had a 400 hour save when the game launched on console, a massive mega factory making 40 of each final phase part, a 900gw nuclear facility and close to 50 satellite factories and i never had a crash.
Yea it's very hit or miss
Which means it's probably a specific bug that causes it
On PC side there is very long running bug that can cause a belt connection be built bugged, and start to corrupt random memory, causing crashes in several varieties.
From building belts too fast compared to FPS, with clients in MP making them much more easily (and tied to host FPS / tick rate).
Need to wait subsecond between pointing and clicking to confirm the build position in general.
Probably in the console versions too.
For some versions you need to be in belt item render range, for other versions it can be anywhere on the map
For crash to be possible to happen.
For that crash on save, probably running out of RAM.
Happens much earlier on Series S, because of the way smaller RAM.
When lot gets used as VRAM for the graphics.
There is uptick in RAM usage while saving.

No console required; AGS is something you can enable when you start a new game, or whenever your load an existing save
Mostly just keep in mind that one it's enabled on a save, (ie: once it's saved with the AGS flag on), that flag can't be removed (and AGS disables achievements)

Only overclocking I’m pretty sure
You only use slugs to create power shards. Later you can unlock artificial Power Shards in the MAM.
Note: It is best principle to sloop Power Slugs so you double how many shards you can make from each slug.

Theres items (somersloops) you can collect that after researching in the mam allows you to double the output of your machines in exchange an increased cost in power and a certain # of sloops depending on the machine
So in the case mentioned there, you can use sloops to turn 1 blue slug into 2 shards, or 1 yellow into 6, or 1 purple into 10 (if I remember the numbers right off the top of my head)

The sloops are not used up btw, my explanation may have made it seem otherwise but they are used in a similar manner to the shards in that they can be moved around machines and are not consumed

You can use them, but they have a bit more nuance to use them
basically unless you want to experiment a lot to get some use of them, the rule of thumb is "don't build them at all, make your life easier"

- Build more machines
- Overclock the existing machines
- sloop the existing machines
- Use the alt recipe which adds in plastic (though you probably don't have access to that yet)
If you're still at the beginning of the game as I suspect, honestly just a single machine making Smart Plating will be fine
It won't take long to reach the initial Phase 1 goal, and then if you leave that single machine running while you work through Phase 2, it'll probably finish that 1k delivery long before you're ready with the other requirements to unlock the next phase

I didn't realize that when I was building more coal plants I accidentally deleted a power line and coal mining stopped so I just spent like 30 minutes setting up a coal generator near my coal miners so now that's on its own power

cartograph mod has issues late game with this
SCIM is limited mainly by displaying the buildables. If you stop it from loading the visuals you can avoid the memory limits you normally run into
I've never actually used Cartograph but my understanding is that it's pretty well optimized. The trick would be to update a "flat" image as things are being built and only modify the stuff that's changing; actual map-viewing will ideally just be one extra flat-image layer on top of the existing map
I know earlier versions of Cartograph had performance problems but I think they'd addressed all that pretty well
But yeah, you definitely wouldn't want the map to be building that image every time you open it; you'd want to have a prerendered version available which just gets layered on top

Sometimes vehicles seem to fall through the ground, unfortunately. On consoles the only real way to fix it is to load a prior save/autosave
(It still feels like a regression to me; that used to be semi-common on PC as well but I thought that was fixed up by v1.0, and I never experienced it myself on my last playthrough)

Nope, the "new" location of the vehicle will just get saved along with. There's nothing in the game code to make vehicles auto-snap to the nearest vertical surface or whatever

Console users can crossplay (PS <-> Xbox), and PC users can crossplay (Steam <-> EGS), but console users can't crossplay with PC users, no matter what the platform/storefront
anyone would know what’s wrong? I’m playing single player and loaded up my latest save through Continue button but I didn’t spawn in my own body but a new one at the hub and my body is seen with my ps name at a place where I logged off. Tried different saves from the same gameplay same issue
Body assignment uses your Steam or Epic ID.
And for some reason or other the game didn't get it correctly this time.
Try restarting the game.
If doesn't help, just kill your old body to get the stuff back.

There's a built-in note-taking thing which is accessible while you're in most menus, though I'm not sure how usable that is on console -- presumably it'll be easier to manage with the upcoming Keyboard support. On PC you get to it via most menus; open inventory (as an example) and then click over on the righthand side of the screen. If it's there on console presumably it's a separate button press, though
But it's generally (IMO) more convenient to have notes outside the game, anyway. The notes field in the game is a bit limited. In the absence of anything else just get yourself a cheap notebook + pencil/pen and do it oldschool. :)

You build your coal energy completely, so it matches your energy consumption and only then dismantle the biomass production

It's a learning curve; the chances of getting it Exactly Right on the first try are pretty small.
Fortunately "fucking everything up" in this game generally just means "I need to kickstart some factory lines" -- it's generally not a big deal
But yeah, what you do is build up coal, and you have to use bio burners to power the water extractors + miners to make that stuff work. So you kind of bootstrap your coal power using the bio power you're already using
But then once the coal power's up and running, you wire it into your grid and the coal stuff starts powering itself, so you don't need the bio burners anymore
Note: there is literally no reason to ever dismantle your biomass unless it's occupying space you need for something else
when you need to make steel pipe and copper and iron are 1,000 metres apart 😭😭

where can you see ur total power consumption of all machines?
So long as you have everything on one unified power grid (ie: all your stuff ultimtely connects via cables/poles), then you can interact with any power pole to get the graph. "Max Consumption" is the line showing you what your power requirement would be if every machine you've got is running at the same time, and "Consumption" is what they're actually using right at the minute
("Production" is the amount of power you're producing, and then "Capacity" is basically just Production plus any Bio Burners you happen to have plugged in still -- once you're past Bio Burners most folks don't see a difference between Production and Capacity)
If you don't have everything on one unified power grid, then you can only get those graphs for your individual power networks, not everything at once

You can always load a save from a lower-numbered version of the game in a higher-numbered version of the game (in Satisfactory, anyway). Your EXP saves will work just fine in the public v1.2 release
(In fact, once v1.2 releases, it'll get released to the Experimental branch as well. So even if you don't switch back to public, you'll get on the full v1.2 and get "upgraded." :)
Although I just noticed this is the Consoles channel, where Experimental isn't a thing. So if we're staying ontopic, then: you cannot create a new save in 1.2e in the first place. :)

What starting area is probably fastest to go from stat to coal?
I keep seeing that PC can replace a splittler with a smart splitter but it never seems to work on my Xbox. Does anyone know if it is possible and what the command is please?
There's not a separate command; you just choose the Smart Splitter as the thing you want to build and then "hover" over an existing splitter
(you can replace mergers/splitters/smart-splitters/programmable-splitters freely so long as the outputs "make sense." LIke you can turn a splitter into a merger so long as only one output belt had been connected, etc)
I try that but it stays yellow and doesn't light up the original like the conveyor belts so I assumed that it is not replacing. I will test - thank you

I'd recommend not thinking in terms of "I have a mk2 miner and mk3 belts," and instead try to get in the habit of just using the numbers, btw. Saying "mk2 miner" could mean three different things depending on node purity, and a practically infinite number of things if you start changing the machine clocks
Rather, take a look at the miner and make sure it says that it's generating 240/min and then start with that number instead of just "mk2," etc. :)
(That presumably doesn't have any bearing on whatever problem you're having right now, of course, but it'll be a good habit to get into)

I'm trying to do the Merger belt/lift clip trick and I can't get it to work on the output side. I'd think it's just not possible on console or 1.1, but I was able to do it on the input side.

We figured it out! I had a pesky tier 2 belt hiding in a splitter

The crazy part is I replaced all of the belts TWICE because I thought there was some bug happening that made my Mk.3 belt run at Mk.2 speed and somehow missed it both times.
Do you tend to place splitters on existing belts? I ve ran into issues where the game doesnt upgrade belts inside the splitter if you place em like that resulting in the same thing
I try to remove the belt, place the splitter and connect the belt again. It massively reduced those hidden belts not getting upgraded for me

Sometimes I do weird clipping stuff for aesthetics, and it usually requires the belt to be down first. So I just do it that way.

I dont really care about it either, especially with input lines where I know I wont be upgrading belts ever
I fixed it. I was math with my total of coal power plants instead of active plants
I get lots of weird little bugs like that. Nothing ever to really put me off the game, but I have noticed that sometimes also lifts don't properly connect to whatever you're attaching them to. I actually just realized when it does link successfully, it plays a little sound.
I hate connecting lifts to splitters and mergers
I feel like there is 0 visual indicator if its connected or not
they can also visually connect successfully in more than one way
and the unconnected ones don't look visually distinct from the connected ones 🙂

Is it smart to make a backup power source with a bunch of batteries or like a secondary power source
If you want to, sure. (it's "Power Storage" instead of "Battery" btw; there's a separate item called "battery")
There's also a Priority Power Switch you can unlock in the MAM which can let you only have parts of your factory go offline if you trip a breaker
In the end, the best way to manage power (IMO) is to keep an eye on your power usage and make sure that your Max Consumption never gets close to your Production. Whenever I've got like 1/3 or 1/4 left to go, I go build more power so I've got a lot of headroom. :)
But folks like building backup systems (I do too!) so go for it if you want to
I ran the whole of my first 4 phases up to doing nuclear with my max consumption way way above my production. I am not sure why - guess it was a combination of not running machines unless needed but having them sat there plus a lot of trains. I read somewhere that stations take a max draw but you never run them all at once.
Just saying - max consumption was almost a meaningless figure for me. My actual consumption was under half of it just before my nuclear came online, Now my nuclear power is up and running and I have 160GB production, I am going to go and add more awesome sinks back in my phase 4 factories that I didn't dare leave running because of such a high max consumption...

how would you even use trains when the entire map is full of mountains? Bauxite on a mountain while copper on the ground 💀

you don't always have to bring the railway all the way to the node, or do everything by rail
bring it to a cliff and drop it by belt
or process it on top and drone it down

I see why people spend so much time on this game because they spend most of it on building 3 story base
with good bps and design the base will save you a lot of time running lines. logistics will kill you building random stuff all over trying to connect it all
I only started to build bases in phase 5.. once I got there I decided I wanted to spend time living in my world more.. tbh I've been waiting on 1.2 to drop for us

When you place a miner open the miners GUI. It will tell you how much ore it give per minute. Match it with a belt that is adequate. You can also over clock or under clock the miner to change the output
Need to overclock it to match the mk4 belts

Well my issue is loading things onto the freight platform
I don’t think I’ll need image proof, but I recently unlocked monorail tech and my fuel I’m loading into the platform won’t go in
It was working perfectly fine before I re attached the railway to the platform so
Now it’s loading onto the platform since I got rid of the train ?
I fixed one platform I was able to dock onto it but now my other platform is acting up
I haven’t actually seen anyone explicitly say that cross console play has been working fine
I’ve only heard ppl recount that same console play has been working (sometimes only half working)

the devs have stated before that those who get things to work rarely report how they got it working / they dont say "everything is fine"
Most people that come here come due to console issues, not because everything is fine
the devs do have some statistics in the background on how well things are actually working though, which is where the "only a fraction of console players are affected by this bug" info comes from
When I pump my water to the top of my building into buffers. The water I pump down doesn't need pumps, is it a glitch or is it a part of the game

If you pump liquid to a point and then make it go down, anything underneath that highest point doesn't need a pump

This is perfectly normal even in real life.
Gravity takes over after you have pumped fluid up
Any point below the original height you pumped fluid to can now be reached by the liquid in the pipes afterwards

Up to you but my saves get a little laggier now I’m in phase 5 so I decided to leave decorating until I’d saved the day. Just to keep it playable. I may not have a problem but seeing how many doodads people add when decorating, I wanted to be safe.

E007 is a multiplayer connection issue, I've gotten it before when I first started playing with my friend. I'm on Xbox but I hard restart/power cycled my xbox and it started working again

then split one of the output belts in half
take one of the half belts, thats 80/min.
merge all others back into one. thats 400/min
or you just use a single splitter and let overflow do the work

Your game will still work fine (though it's always good to make backups just in case there's something weird)
You can always load a save from a lower-numbered version of the game in a higher-numbered version of the game
You can even load saves from the very first public versions of the game, still, though due to map/recipe/machine changes it's unlikely a factory that old would actually work still. :)
If i can load this 1.1 into a 1.2 save and change the node purity that would be fire cause I've put in a lot of work on this
That you won't be able to do; the node purity/randomization stuff can only be set on a new game
(On PC you can load the save into a save editor to change it, but obvs that's more problematic on console)

There's also the jetpack, available earlier than that but doesn't hover in the same way but is quite useful

The ability to move blueprints between saves is something I could see CSS maybe doing; it's not really what they intend for the blueprint system, but on PC it's always been a case of "well, you can copy the files if you want to." An option for console folks would, indeed, be nice. As for an online downloader, that's well outside of what CSS actually wants the BPs to be used for, so I wouldn't hold my breath for that. :)
