for some items (main hand and rings) the % fire damage modifier doesn't increase my minions' fire damage. is this intentional? could someone explain how this works lul

it shouldnt for any tbh... it has to say "minion damage" to work, so "minion fire damage" from idols works
but just "Fire damage" shouldnt.
the character sheet (C button) is also a bit wonky
oh, the other pieces of gear have minion damage on them which also increases their elemental damage I guess

The way that sheet works is that any generic bonuses apply to all the values
so if I had 300% generic minion damage it will show that I have 300% minion damage as well as 300% fire minion damage
So just be sure to not add up two values
as it will most likely give you wrong values if you are trying to work out just how much damage you have lol

there is idols that have it, and there is generic minion damage for most slots as well as minion spell/melee on weapons
And generic attribute scaling is very good for minions as well, intelligence is worth stacking.

Modifiers in this game are pretty straightforward given names, but if you need more details hold alt over the item or go into the Game Guide [G].
is it intended that after using time shift in julra dungeon, then i use volatile reversal, i would be teleported to the corner of the room where there are void puddles?
This is a bug with VR & time shift (D)... VR gets its knickers in a knot if you time shift and then hit VR - it doesnt know where to go back to because of the time shift... If you wait longer than the VR reversal (i.e. stay in one time for long enough), then it can work, but even then its not perfect....

You need to do the final 3 (lvl 95?) monos then click on the chest/box thing in the middle of all 3.
that they unlocks all of the empowered monos
then you go to whatever mono you want to do empowered & click on it & selected empowered.

higher just means harder, its not a strict mechanic, some have higher then 100

if it cant have lp, it says that, For example normal gamblers fallacy says "Cannot have LP"
That's just a number the devs use to calculate the chance of said unique getting LP, it has nothing to do with level.
So has anyone come up with a correspondence between the effective level of LP and the drop rate of each LP value by unpacking or data statistics?
For example, I once tried to farm 40 Bhuldar's Wrath (90 LP effective level) and only 2 of them were 1LP
No, the devs haven't given us the formula, but they've said that a unique with ~116 & you dropped one every second you'd be waiting more than the age of the universe...

But uniques with low effective level are significantly more likely to drop with LP than those with high effective level.
I don't suppose there's a way to recolor items filtered through a loot filter, WITHOUT showing them by the same rule? E.g. I would like to show certain subtypes of items, THEN recolor/emphasize if they have good affixes. Currently I either have to have the list of affixes included in each "show x subtypes of swords", "show x subtypes of maces" rules (which makes it annoying when i want to add/remove a wanted affix, because I have to manually change all the rules), or go through negative "hide all but X subtypes of swords" filters first. Because if I do "show XY" and then "emphasize whatever has fire damage", it will show all item (sub)types with those affixes, regardless of the "show XY".

You could have a rule that says say "Show all soul harvesters with affix" and color it red
Then a rule above it that says "Show all soul harvester with 3 affixes sum of atleast 10" and color it purple
This means if a normal soul harvester with just the affix you want but low levels drops, then it shows as red. But if the good one drops even though it meets the criteria of red AND purple, since purple is higher it highlights it in purple.
But otherwise I dont think you can do it within the same rule, you need multiple rules.

Well why would you show them at all if they don't have good affixes? That's the point of having the loot filter, to hide things not worth picking up
I would ideally not show them. But I can't figure out how to do that without having the list of good affixes included in each item type/subtype rule. With that it is possible, but changing your desired affixes then means you have to re-edit all those rules.

Yeah I don't bother setting filters for specific sub types of items, that just makes it really messy
You will find that you will need to change your filter a few times anyways as you get gear

You could try looking at the premade filters from letools to get an idea of how to filter.
I personally set up my filters to be 1/2/3 affix color coded, and I ignore the sum since in the current crafting system basically what matters most is finding items that have as many of the affixes you need first
And as I gear out I then start to limit it to specific bases

Not really... any res not 16:9 ratio tends to have an issue or two where things dont fit properly. Yours is 4:3 and is very uncommon these days.... The only guaranteed way to resolve this is to change the res to something else. Dont use a controller so dont know the issue with opening the map using one - sorry
What do you mean exactly? The game hasnt had updates in a while now so there is nothing to sync install wise.... If you are losing progress in saves...You may have a corrupted save that is preventing saving - this can and does happen - it can even prevent saving entirely different chars progress.... if this is the case then its not Steam Cloud causing the issue. To check this, you can look in your player.log and see if there is any debug mssage related to a file name "1CHARACTERSLOT_BETA_##". Usuallly you have to remove the offending / corrupted file (and yes, lose the char) you will also have to remove the corrupted file form your steam cloud manually..... If its not a corrupted save, then continue reading..... Do you use multiple systems and have steam sync across then? I never use Steam cloud anymore - it has given me so many issues in the past that its one of the first things I disable with games... Depending on where the sync has failed - i.e. Steams copy is old or the local copy is old, you could disable steam cloud, remove the older files from either local/cloud and then get steam cloud to resync in the correct direction (ie. sync to cloud or sync to local)... Just be VERY careful to backup anything before trying this.... You may also need to login to Steam via a web browser and check your Remote Storage to see what files it has stored and remove the problem ones...

Kinda depends to be honest. Sometimes there are specific nodes that make the build much better or even work at all & it may be preferable to go for those initially.
New player here. I've got a Void Knight I've leveled to 76, and I've been doing echoes to try and level/upgrade gear. One issue is I'm now drowning in excess uniques and idols. I'm sure a lot of them are garbage, but is there a productive way of getting rid of those? I haven't come up with any ideas other than just selling to a vendor which is a bit of a feelsbad. Anything I'm missing?
stop picking them up unless they're something you need/want 🙂 personally, I'm a packrat, so I save 1-2 of each unique in case I want them for a toon later, but even that costs a fair number of stash tabs 🙂 YMMV 🙂

Yeah, I quit picking up a bunch of stuff. Just wasn't sure if there was a way to destroy them for crafting materials or anything that was a better usage than just selling them. I've been using Boardman's build guide and the loot filter it suggested.

The max number of baby scorpions you can have at a time is capped though I can't remember what it is. The Sweet Release node allows them to be summoned faster if/when they die by using your Scorpion's ability.

Well that is one of those "bugs" that don't matter because honestly you should never need to town portal from a zone and return

There's no reason to sell anything. Setup an item filter so you don't see anything useless to you and don't bother picking things up you don't need. It's faster to just leave them on the ground, their gold value is very small

A few things, 1st u cant get t7sealed.
2nd u almost Always want the berserker node in primalist, and porcine constitution on Beast master, aswell as Shark form for Pets.
3rd try ti stay away from 7% or less DMG per point node
Said that i despise and know nothint about Minion builds, but those are general primalist stuff
Yeah, can't get T7 sealed, let alone multiple T7s on an item realistically
otherwise, the suffix choices are pretty bad
passive-wise, you've missed a lot of great ones
like Hunter's Restoration and Berserker in primalist. Ursine Strength and Porcine Constitution in beast master, chitinous plating in druid
yeah idk about this build. Might take some effort to farm that gear.

If you open the map, it will state quest rewards in the bottom left. There is more quests that grant passive and idol slot rewards than you can earn in total. It states how many you've earned out of how many you can earn.

Okay, what am I doing wrong here:
Correct me if I'm wrong. Rules work top down. Once it hits a rule that an item adheres to it stops checking any below it.
Therefore this item should hit that 3rd level (the orange one) color it orange and show it to me, correct?
It isn't, it's hiding it because in the very bottom one I have chests is in the baseline 'hide' one.
But the second one, with the Red shows my sentinel gear just fine.
After futzing around for the last 40 minutes I figured it out.
Tier Sum is only taking into account the selected affixes.
I thought it was total for the entire item.

I look at the item filter in the game and my brain blows up. I'm too used to super simplified ones from PoE's filterblade.
This filter is not only more powerful than PoE's but also easier

It has helped a lot of people understand how it works and it shows how to make a filter quickly for any new character you make
If you use an auto-generated one you won't understand how it works and ask a lot of questions of why it shows things you don't want or hides things you do want, because they don't generate well

If you do use the premade one you will want to lower the sums on the higher tiers of rules its way too strict

Not really. There are some blessings that will give you more of a particular type of shard (such as chest shards), but nothing more than that.

Are you in empowered? They tend to be far more common there
no i dont know how to empower stuff
gotta complete the 3 level 90 timelines then go to the middle of them, it'll play a cutscene, and then all timelines can be "empowered" to be level 100 content
it allows you to stack corruption easier (can be done in non-empowered but not worth it)
it's a bit grindy but it's worth it

but your character does NOT have to be level 100 to get empowered monolith.
In fact, I usually get to empowered monos between lvl 78-80.
you get to empowered by pushing up to the top of the mono map and doing the last three
I'm not sure I'm strong enough to push that high, need to fix my items a little I'm only around 1700hp maxed resists. I'm playing hammer/smite and there's been a few things that one or two shot me as well as some really egregious degens
Anything that can one shot is going to be very telegraphed and easily avoidable. Your HP is fine.

Yup, luckily that fight is so mechanical and easy to do with the three bosses it’s pretty easy to cheese on ranged builds
Sorc will be my first build when MP comes, it was safest build I've made
I loved doing that boss on my VK and static orb sorc
abyssal echoes is so good for just deleting all of them
and static orb orbit was great for cleaving them down too
Meteor artillery them down to low health to avoid the necro death AoE and try to nuke 2/3 at once and the other shortly after
poison rogue kills them super fast, but has poor aoe so it needs to kill each in sequence unless they happen to stack up
what level do skills max out, i know 20 but like how many +2 skills can you craft onto gear to raise, just 2 max or can you have like four pieces all boosting that 1 skill
up to +4 from class-specific t7 prefixes, then it depends how many +skills you can stack from uniques, I think lvl 27 is the highest it goes but that's only for one or two specific skills
I think zombies can get 29 and swarmblade maybe to 30?

I've got 7 different negative affects on the enemy
but I don't know if they all count. Like does armor shred count as a 'negative ailment?'
Definitely damaging ailments, probably debuffs (resist/armour shreds, crit vulnerability, chill, slow, etc) as well.

monsters penetrate all resistances 1% per monster level? if so, what's the point of items that shift damage type (take 20% of void damage as physical for example) ?
armor resists physical at full strength... its less effective against other damage types

Those affixes were more of a thing back before the devs changed to resists (from the protection system)

Do skill levels increase the baseline damage of the skill in addition to skillpoints or just grant more skillpoints? Trying to decide between a weapon that adds a ton of skill levels and one that adds quite a bit flat fire damage.
Only if the affix states it, like +1 Devouring Orb +20% void damage (just a random example out of thin air) the power from skill levels generally only helps if there are powerful nodes you can't reach with baseline points to to enable otherwise impossible interactions
In that case the skilllevel staff is plain bait for my build (+3 to basically all my skills looked tempting). Thanks.
No, skills don't get more power purely by being a higher level. A lvl 20 skill (with no points allocated) would do as much damage as a lvl 0 skill.
Being able to put an additional 3 points in most of your skills is a fairly big thing.
It is, but it's not worth loosing my catalyst which has damage stats, adds 120% ward retention and 50 ward a second. Also loosing 45 flat damage and 160% Ignite chance from my MH Sword is arguably also bad. For reference I'm playing Flame reave with high Ignite chance and Ignite detonation on enchant weapon. And I actually have everything that is a big powerup allocated with the lvl 22 Flame reave.

I play quite a bit of ARPGs like Path of Exile but also don't mind following a build guide if that makes it safer that I see the whole span of the game in this first go
You can do either, or start on your own and transition to a guide later
It’s cheap and easy to respec, so experimenting isn’t hard
I saw you lose all the xp/points into a skill if you decide to change later on - is it too hard to recover those? My fear is respeccing later into the game and becoming pretty weak?
The biggest thing Id consider a guide for is loot/good affixes and where to put them just to potentially save on any crafting materials you find early on when they’re still a limited resource
Also can you respec your sub-class? Like a primalist that goes from summoning creatures to shaman ?
You have a minimum skill level that goes up as you level
And later on respeccing a skill takes like 2-3 minutes to relevel
Most of time I doubt you’d feel so incredibly weak from respeccing something

the only thing you can’t change is subclass
That choice is locked in once you make it, so if you pick Shaman you can’t later change to Beast Master, for example
If you’re coming from PoE, something to know is that resists are significantly less impactful in LE- it’s great to cap them out, but the increase in damage taken is much lower in LE if you don’t
So you don’t need to go super hard on affixes trying to cap resists to the detriment of other defensive stats

Only the amount of void that was added. E. G. 100 fire damage attack +5 void damage does 105 damage total, but only 5 damage to fire immune
it won't get the void tag for the sake of other effects, those tags are determined by the base effects and damage of the skill.

It's really cool flavour text, to be fair.
It's saying that it will not remove bosses from the field for 4 seconds as it does other enemies, but all effects of having been sent forward in time are still applied (or that may depend on having sent an enemy forward in time). This is typically more relevant for the Anomaly skill which can send enemies forward in time on command and has a related skill tree.

The only thing we are sure of is what llama already mentioned - no MP only content.... As for features, trading is expected but how this will actually happen is unknown right now (LONG discussions on this on the forum with replies from Devs if you are interested).... Pvp... who knows, they have never to my knowledge said they definitely are not going to consider it. maybe they have it on their super secret roadmap and are going to release a PvP type arena feature at some unknown future date... Key is that you cannot assume anything either way till the devs confirm it...

should be no issue to get capped 100% crit chance on Harvest

You'd need to use a base crit crafted weapon for sure to do crit Reap with any consistency

Yip you can, but its wasted affixes & skill/passive nodes... 100% chance to crit is guaranteed chance to crit... anything over that is useless..... Should put the extra affix slots into Crit Multiplier instead....

Considering the commitment the devs have made in the last dev blog post regaring performance improvements coming in the next patches, i would probably consider any performance testing right now as a moot point... I'd recommend holding off till after the next batch of patches in Sept (ish) to draw any conclusions on performance.... Right now its as we all know... ok to poor generally speaking and heaviliy dependant on what the game is doing at any given moment.

there are some special enemies that have basic resistances, which are usually written below the health bar.

Does Eterra`s blessing minion damage increase actually works? If yes, then how damage calculated, because double increase is definately not what happening.
Also whats going with pet, it looks that they care about my stats only at summon, and do not change later. Seems that I even can summon them with one gear, and fight with another... Also how i can resummon/release pets except of logging off... For stats update or just ot change comp 1 wolf 2 crows for 3 crows, which i cant do if wolf already summoned.
- I'm not sure how it works but the damage increase could be additive, like 100% more damage is double damage when you have 0% damage increase total, but if you already have a lot, then it's less noticeable. But don't take my word on it I don't use that skill much.
- Yeah it's called snapshotting. It's how it works right now but the devs plan to revisit it in the future.
- You can unsummon by removing the skill from your skill bar.
Is there such a thing as twink gear in this game?
'Increased' is +X% of base damage, or +X percentage points, 'more' is +X% of damage. A '30% more' modifier will always increase the end result by 30%, a '30% increased' modifier will not. The vocabulary here appears to be taken straight from Path of Exile, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Though personally I would've preferred 'increased' modifiers to be listed as '+X%p', since percentage points are a useful piece of terminology that games very rarely use.

There are logs that usually have some debug message that can explain what is happening... Crashes when starting echos or using a teleport to a new map are usually either a messed up install or performance related. Verifying game files in Steam will help for the install and lowering your in-game settings will help for the known performance issues... if nothing works then post to the technical support section of the forum and include your player.log, le_graphicsmanager.ini and the output of a dxdiag report.. Not sure... Tooltip damage can be very situational and the devs have confirmed that certain parts of the dps calculations are not always included correctly (revamping tooltips/character sheet has been confirmed a while ago but Multiplayer demand is taking priority)... Someone like @balmy current might be better to reply but off the top of my head I'd say that the ignite chance (which is DoT) is skewing the figure - remember you can still apply the DoT with lightning blast so it will increase damage independantly and may be whati you are seeing in the tool tip. Just guessing here... One thing thats for sure, at level 4 items, its unlikely you will be able to see much difference in damage - the rng in damage calcs can also be involved.
Elemental damage increases all cold, fire, lightning tagged skills. So yes, it increases Lightning damage.
if you're low level, the ignite is going to show as a big increase because ignite base damage is static
so the ignite, even at a low percentage chance, is likely adding a good amount of effective flat damage to your skill

Nope... you cant craft on T6/7 affixes so it would be impossible... You can obviously seal other slots on an exalted item tho... just not the exalted ones.

Not quite, % increased damage is additive with all other sources of % increased damage. Sources of % more damage are applied separately. Both are applied to the flat damage (base + (flat added * added damage effectiveness)), the order is irrelevant.

Honestly, I don't know how to Empower them either, probably gonna look at a guide to boost them to 100.
After all level 90 timelines are conquered, you can activate Empowered Mode by touching the crystal at their junction, opening up Legendary timelines. It's always possible to select between Normal and Legendary versions of the same timeline, each having its own Echo Web.

Optimization Questions:
When I start a game, I can play for about two echoes and then it starts to do this
normal/stutter thing. My character running forward looks normal for about 5 seconds
but then suddnely gets jittery and slows to a crawl and skips
then it goes back to normal for 5 seconds
so on.
Now here's the catch. I've noticed if I switch to another program, like browser, come here and read Discord, if I do it for a few minutes and then go back, LE is running smoothly.
And it stays pretty smooth UNTIL I open any boxes in the echo home like my stash or to sell stuff or looking at my filter.
I've read all of the stuff concernign LE's optimization (and it's needs)
No idea if this is on my end or just a "It's a beta thing, we're working on it."

Only if it's minion spell damage. If a thing doesn't specify minions, it won't affect minions
imho, there is very little point in grinding non-empowered monos.... If you are looking for Uniques, get to empowered and target the unique echo reward islands... If your build is up to it, you can increase corruption to around 200 - imho thats a good sweet spot for increased loot drop chance vs speed to farm... dont bother to go higher than 300 corruption for farming (unless you are looking for specific orobyss drops) - that just adds unneccessary time to the runs.
Hmm... seems suspiciously like a performance issue... Sounds like your system is unable to maintain the performance over time with whatever settings you are using. Either its just the game (known) or a combination of the game and the available resources shared with whatever you are running at the same time... When you alt tab, you enable the background fps limit - which will prevent LE from taxing your system and allowing your system to recover when LE is not in foreground. Opening stash is a known performance issue - especially if you have lots of smaller items vs a few bigger items in a stash tab.. As a test, you might want to monitor your system usage (CPU/GPU/Memory/Temps) to see whats happening and consider toning down in-game settings as a test.... Might be worth opening a thread on the forum and posting the usual: player.log, le_graphicsmanager.ini, dxdiag report... perhaps there is something the log.

on a laptop? worse performance over time sounds a lot like thermal throtteling and thats what most gaming laptops are best at 😄
as Hybria suggested... dont forget about temps.... If its already on low in-game settings, then its even more important to monitor whats happening on your system over time...(obviously this all depends/relative to your setup - low quality at 4k res might still be struggling)... Also check your View Reliability History and see if anything is having issues on your system... it could very well be something else that is causing the issue... Sometimes even things like Windows Update trying to run every few minutes and failing can present as odd slowdowns... Even things like the Discord client has been known to cause FPS drops in Call of Duty... might be something like that happening.. all guessing really tho...

I find this rather confusing: are the bonuses from Echoing Strikes and Time Legion a separate chance from the base one? If so, does Avatar of Regret apply to both those rolls? Or is this just a typo and they're supposed to increase the base effect's chance to occur?

Hello, I have a general question about last epoch and who better to ask than the community :3
I am considering buying the last epoch since a lot of people already said that is it awesome (ziz, ziggyD, etc.)
But what is the main difference (or differences) between last epoch and poe or grim dawn?
I played lots of PoE and, for example, I don't like how limiting the end game is and how you must always strive to fill in the check list (have resistances maxed, have def layers, have certain amount of dps, have gear worth a couple of exalts etc.). So what about last epoch in this regard?
And Grim dawn is fun, but replaying it is difficult for me since maps are always the same and you can't mix and mash as much as in poe.
Just looking for some comments on what are the best features of this game, or you can even drop videos that point out the differences and strengths, so I can make a good decision \p/

Simple answer, just buy it. You will get your monies worth out of it well before you get bored.... its a great arpg right now even tho its in beta and not complete/doesnt have MP/not without balance issues/and specific problems etc. Its a great mash up of bits and pieces from your favourites & some new things all its own... For me personally, LE has an interesting story with a great concept (timelines - underutilised at the moment imho).. Classes have enough skills & depth to be interesting and fun to explore without going crazy deep... Campaign runs well (if somewhat easy for experienced players), End-game & dungeons offer a fair amout of replayability especially if you are into min-maxing and like trying out different builds... There are hard, sometimes frustrating bosses to test yourself... Difficulty in endgame is infinite (i.e. you can scale it till trash mobs one shot you). Gear /loot drop is ok.. some uniques are fantastic and worth chasing... Mostly the devs are open, communicate and its obvious this game has come a long way and still has more to come... Next dev cycle path is september ish and I expect interesting things to enjoy...
One of my favorite things about Last Epoch is building your character. Pretty much all builds are viable and you can go in as a new player and make something work. The respeccing is very generous, so you can always fix your build. That's a big frustrating I have with Path of Exile, if I don't follow a build guide or spend many hours in Path of Building, I'll never get far.
Second thing I really enjoy is the crafting, there's a lot of flexibility with it, and it's a lot of fun.
All the things that I don't really like are all "early access" stuff. Performance of the game needs work, it's missing acts, masteries, and I think the endgame could use a little bit more.
Def worth $35 right now, imo.

I cant tell you what the min specs are, but I have a nvidia 1050, 8g of ram, and an i-3 6300 quad core cpu and I have 0 issues running the game on the lowest settings. I actually dont experience performance problems
just be warned that performance in these games is incredibly hit or miss, Ive played this game and PoE both for years on this machine from 2016 and neither of them lag
but im okay with playing on 45~ fps some people want more which will probably require you to have a better pc

Okay So, i'm coming back to the for the first time in ages, and something i'm noticing is getting gear to get moving up in content seems to be a rather tedious slog at the moment (i'm not even in empowered monos rn) and am willing to check out builds since my builds don't feel great atm.
any recommendations for any class really.
Bladedancers actually have a ton of survivability, even though it doesn't look like it at first glance. Look for sources of Glancing Blows (like dual wielding swords), Dusk Shrouds, or Dusk Shrouds on Melee Hit. If you're like me and play HC, you might even consider using a shield.

No, guides are not necessary. I make them, too, but if you read the skills and read your mastery, you'll have a good time playing Last Epoch.
The only bonus XP you can get is from the Monolith System. Some of the echo nodes drop bonus XP Books, which help when respec'ing skills and experimenting.

Very important! I believe everyone likes to create its own hero on its own image, also, with lots of Armor skins and an hide helmet option it's awesome.
I played Gw1 and it was like this and it had character costumisation and hide helmet :)
I mean, this is my opinion, I do love to creat my character and Armor personalisation.
It's makes the game more dynamic and it can give you a visual break if you change gear skin / " transmogification "

Fair enough... I love character customisation in RPG but thats functional (i.e. a dwarf with +2 str) vs visual/cosmetic. But in any FPS or ARPG game , I honestly never cared what my character looks like - doesnt impact at all on my enjoyment of a game.
Correct, the Sweet Release node just gives you a way to get back up to max Baby Scorps in one go rather than waiting for them to be resummoned every 10s.

Feel? Well, combat feel is being updated as per the current dev blog... but generally if you like GD you are likely to like LE... Its simpler in some aspects, but most definitely not boring... and imho, I personally find it has more replayability than GD... especially end-game (even though its not finished yet).
I never got to the proper endgame in GD, even though I've racked up like 3.7k hours there. 🙂

Anyone running LE on Linux? I'm having unplayable fps loss and I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it.
Quite a few people on Linux... but each has their own setup/distro/preferences so its hard to help on discord chat - some prefer the native version, others praise the proton version via steam. Drivers etc aside, performance is generally an issue right now esp. depending on where you are, what you are doing in-game... but if you are conservative with in-game settings (no matter the OS platform), then most configs/systems can play ok (within reason - e.g. not expecting an old 660 ti to handle 4k ultra). I would recommend you search the forums for hints at what Linux configs to try and to see if another linux user is having a problem that seems similar to yours and go from there.
Yeah I'm getting like 5 fps in menus when it was working fine previously. I have tried all the obvious fixes, updating drivers etc. The Linux threads on the forums last time I checked were mostly saying that the devs weren't focused on linux performance before MP, which is fair.
I was hoping maybe someone using the same os as me would have some better luck.
5fps in menus is very odd and most definitely not a normal kind of problem even for Linux users. There is most likely something else happening to cause that - especially if it was working fine previously.
Yeah, it must have been some kind of OS update. It happened in the middle of an LE patch cycle so it wasn't like LE changed.
I dont use Linux for playing games (I only use it for important things like servers 🤪 ) so I cannot offer any advice, but my suggestion would be to try and figure out what changed if at all possible, and work from there. Maybe its a config that was reset or a GPU driver update than needs to be rolled back. Oh, and because that FPS is SO low, double check if your system has not reverted to trying to run the game on an integrated GPU (if your CPU has one) instead of proper discreet GPU.

Skills which heal you, but its a bit of a hit or miss stat. Somethings specify they are buffed by it, others dont but still are etc.

Yip.. it shows you new ones and the old, you then chose to change or keep the existing... the number of choices is based on the level monolith you are running

It really is just luck.... and there are blessing slots - i.e. some have a specific choice of blessings that can roll each time so sometimes its easy to get what you need other times there are more blessing in the pool so the chances of what you need are less... you can see these on tunks website... https://lastepoch.tunklab.com/timelines

yeah, but the slots can skew the blessings you are offered - e.g. slot 1 might chose 1 out of 3 blessings and slot 2 might chose 1 out of 8 blessings.... Heavy explained it on the forum a while back.

Is that older character? They removed / moved some of the passive quests and if you don't gain passives when you level up then you have too many passives atm

I assume you won't be able to receive any talent nodes from the skill? I'd say Snap Freeze / Black Hole as they're great utility even w/o talent nodes

I've mostly used dungeon
and look for days with good starting modifiers on t3/t4
and clear the floors
in temporal sanctum specifically
I don't really like arena gameplay tho, so I can't say I've done too much of the arena champions stuff tho
beyond just getting the uniques
hmm i can do max juiced(600%+more dmg/hp) 40 wave arena in 6 mins and u have garanteed drop of 2 ex weapons and u get 2-6 more depending on what affixes they let you choose
so its ~50 ex per hour on avarage
I'd have to time floors tbh, but the good days on dungeon of boss exalts or super high exalt drops from mobs has been probably about that much or more per run depending on rng

got 5 rings, 2 relics, 1 helm, 1 weapon
second run took 3:25 with a detour to the second door of a level to look for a better modifier, dropped 8 exalted
ye, keep in mind this is on my wraith's necro, so it's just running through the level, dropping wraiths, looting whatever exalted drop, then deleting the boss in <10 seconds

genuine curiosity but will come off as me being weird, but im open for debate. What is the purpose of using prebuilt builds? and i can answer this question myself but im curious as to if theres some other personal reasons im interested in hearing. I can start off with my dislike for it to give everyone a better understanding of my point. All you do is copy paste skills and hunt for the same exact uniques. Little to no creativity involved in a game where creativity is flourishing. I get wanting to run super late end game stuff and do it with ease for completion purposes and what not. But is it really you doing it? or the guy that came up with the build? Just seems like the game would be so much more fun when your constantly experimenting and crafting/ trying new items and testing skills and affixes and what not. But i get it, my purpose of playing these games is to let my creative side wonder, where im sure others are just playing to complete it in as easy of a way as possible.
I'd guess a lot of people have goals that don't involve being creative- they want a certain item or items, they want to complete certain content, get to a certain point in the game, etc.
For me personally, I like seeing what other people have done and then trying to do it better. If I see a build idea with potential then I want to try it myself and tweak it to push it to the next level for whatever content goal I have in mind. Some archetypes will ultimately be solved, but part of the fun in an ARPG for me is when things get changed- balance changes, new items, new skills, reworks, new content, etc. Those can play a role in what the optimal build or version of a build is for any particular thing and when a shakeup happens it's fun to revisit old and existing builds to see what can be updated to improve them and keep them relevant or make them more relevant than ever before.
Also sometimes, I have a build idea that needs particular items or whatever to work, so I'm just going to play whatever is fastest to farm those items for said build idea, even if it's something "meta" that is already a solved build.
thats fair, i guess it all boils down to preference and play styles. My peak gameplay is just tinkering around and finding new things and thinking of new ways to make my build better and more things to add to it. Like i dont necessarily have an end goal, or certain content i want to get to, or anything concrete. Im just having fun and doing my own thing. But i get what your saying. Tweaking others builds sounds like fun, and yeah balance changes and new content additions are always a hoot. Also whenever i play these kinds of games all my characters are solo with no shared stash. i just like to work for what i want with each character.
Currently, due to population more than anything, I'd guess, Last Epoch has a pretty high number of builds that don't get fully explored, optimized, figured out, etc. So there's a lot of room to find something cool someone has done in the past and work to make it great.
The builds I've enjoyed most or perhaps am most "known for" are both cases of me seeing others do something that looked like it had great potential that hadn't been fully explored and wanting to push it to the max.
Especially with things like Vision's weekend tournaments or the insane pace that some of the content creators put out build videos- there's a lot of collective knowledge to work with when it comes to build ideas and concepts.
Something else I enjoy about games like LE is the community collaboration aspect- multiple people playing the same build and all contributing to the collective knowledge of how to make that build its best.
It's fun to bounce ideas off other people doing the same or similar things and work together to make something as good as it can be.
all very fair stuff. sounds like your into all the collaboration/ competition aspects of it. when i play these games im generally very solo except for talking about my build/ progress/ questions/ suggestions/ etc
I don't have the time or talent that many of the skilled builders have. I do, however, like to tinker and find my way and I can be really stubborn when it comes to skills (from alpha to about 8.1 I refused to use Vengeance because I hated that skill, I prefered - and still do - Rive.) But that said, I like to learn. So normally I do a lot of stuff on my own to start out with. Then when I begin to hit walls, I'll start looking at other builds that 'seem' similar to what I've been doing. This usually helps me have a half-dozen or so 'ah ha!' moments.
if your goal in the game is super late game build than following a guide is a good idea, in the end game has 3-7 builds that are significantly better than others and even if u theorycraft youll end up there, after making one such build u can start thinking of builds with similar strength.
if you dont want that then it doesnt really matter what you do and you can try everything. people who copy paste usually are lazy or minmaxers
thats fair, some people just arent suited for/ dont wanna take the time to go through all the build stuff. And with walls it definitely depends on the game. Like D3 is almost stupid with how easy it is to do end game stuff, and id say PoE is the hardest, and i have yet to really get super late game in any game other than Diablo, so well see how that goes.
Im just stubborn and very prideful when it comes to this stuff. This will deff be my character i go the furthest with, but im committed to my build. I might make my own adjustments to it and tinker with it if i hit walls and have trouble. But im committed to taking it all the way. Just how I play. Someone could tell me "if you dont have 1 of these 10 builds for end game you wont be able to do it" and ill just say watch me.

depends on your goals tho a lot of builds can do bosses, pushing high corruption is literally useless cause you only hurt your farm so the only left endgame is arena which is basically who stacks more drs or oneshots everything offscreen

Is there a way to target farm idols besides idol echo? I've been rolling with mostly resistances on my idols and never really got anything nice besides frostbite on cold hits for offense

It's different for the sole purpose of not being able to gain any mastery mods.
That's, not entirely true. Since it's a proc & it can't go on the skill bar it will inherit any appropriate damage modifiers from the proccing skill (generic % more damage, % lightning damage, % elemental damage, % spell damage).
A lot of passives have duplicate icons
If I go a bit too hard with monolith modifiers is there anything I can do to reset them?
not explicitly, but you can go to another mono, or use echoes that don't add mods to try to clear them off, such as quest echoes, Shade, or any of them special "meta" echoes
What if I can't complete any echo? Am I effectively "bricked"?
At the moment as there is no external way to reset the mono - you have to do monos to either increase or decrease the difficulty... so yes you are "bricked" for that specific mono, thats why its so important to keep an eye on modifiers.. but you could always try other monos and level up or improve your build and come back to try again....
Thankfully I didn't reach the point of a "brick" yet but I was just asking for the future. I guess i'll have to really pay attention on higher corruption levels then
