I guess. I don't bother with it myself, not worth it to me
you gotta unlock higher tier dungeons anyway
might as well skip most of the campaign with the lowest tier, and then after temporal sanctum youre already halfway through act 9 anyway
Yeah I know, but I don't really care because I lose next to nothing on every single build I play by not going and killing Majasa (which is just a lot of walking for no reward), I'm fine without it.
Emperor of corpses just keeps healing back to full life and i dont understand what is causing it
Probably monolith mod 'enemy heals if it hasn't been damaged recently'
but he is constantly in Hail of Arrows
Maybe since dot's arent a hit, they dont reset the health regen
But it's "if hasn't been damaged recently", not "if hasn't been hit recently".
i will try to limit framerate on both ways (also background stuff off-screen) but yes it is using only the dedicate gpu, however i heard that there is always going to get pass through the integrated gpu before regardless and there is a way to avoid this extra step/bottleneck... idk how thou... and i use low power when not using the laptop for gaming or any meaningful work (like browsing, etc) and than max performance mode just for gaming, i don't use the dynamic performance mode, always gets weird and goes beyond being just on LE case.
added puncture to my skills and that stopped the healing. someone should tell us if that is intended or not
What's the best way to farm a specific t7 mod? I need a ring with t7 throwing mana cost to reach 0 mana cost, but it took me until lvl 93 to get my first t6...
Unfortunately it's just play a lot at high corruption and hope for the best
These only appear on rings, so farming Stolen Lance for Grand Talon of Grandeur would help
Also since this is a prefix, Grand Hope of the Beginning from Fall of the Empire would help too nvm this is only for crafting purposes
afaik the vault after beating Lightless Arbor can roll lots of exalted items too
farming t3 temporal sanctum can be good for exalteds as well
thank you both!
What is the best way to farm stability for a boss? Should I just keep on making echoes, or should I kill the boss that resets the map?
I'd say just grind out the echoes
Orobyss gets a lot, but then you're stuck grinding low-stability echoes for a while
However if you also care about Corruption, then a combination of echoes and Orobyss would work better
Ok, thank you!
echos until you hit the end, then orobyss, what end is depends on luck, and if you're super unlucky you want to go on a different path
bonus stability might have changed stuff, but when i did the math a while ago it was only ever worth ignoring orobyss if you only planned to do the end boss 2-3 times iirc
ill probably do the math again at some point before next patch unless someone beats me to it
my guess is that bonus stability has changed it a lot
my guess before last hotfix was that it had changed, and if your build was terrible at shade, you could arguably do a lot of the timlines for a blessing without touching shade
but with the aggro change i imagine monolith speed has dropped enough that it becomes worth doing shade even with the reset and on a build bad for it (unless you're being safe on hardcore)
but who knows. WHen i did it ages ago i assumed shade was always worth, and then it was just math that it wasnt if you didnt plan to do it more than 3 times (the point being that your average stability increase drops when you reset the web, so if the amount of stability you're aiming for isn't high enough that it balances out, shade becomes less optimal)
(and to be fair this literally only matters in a race enviroment, in normal cases you just do shade because corruption carries over to other timelines to some extent)
Whenever I'm going for bosses I farm for corruption gains, so going as far out as possible with max 2 echoes detour (detour meaning a case where you pick an echo that does not grant more stability than the last one you did) This may be slightly less stability per echo but the side benefits of stacking up corruption are pretty big.
Overall though, I would be shocked if the differences between strategies worked out to more than 5% faster/slower as long as you arent totally avoiding shades or running them at negative or tiny corruption gain.
its much easier to math out optimal corruption gain approaches regardless
Hello, is there anyway to skip campaign on alt character ?
you can skip large sections of it via dungeons
you can also go straight into monoliths as soon as you get the end of time
either way you'll still need to do skill point/idol quests
but shouldn't be a huge deal if you go back and pick up the few you need at higher levels with more movement speed available and such
Thank you
You can set the lastepoch.exe to only run on the dedicated gpu at a GPU driver level & windows advanced graphics also has the option - this has helped other people and should stop the laptop trying to "be clever". No idea if this will help you tho but its worth trying... The problem with laptops is that they tend to swap back to integrated gpu for basic 2d (i.e. if you alt tab back to windows/other non 3d apps) while LE is running - in theory this should be fine, but it can do really odd things sometimes - especially if the game itself is trying to something with the GPU (load/unload textures/mem etc) like it does when loading into a new map. Its really is hard to debug gaming issues on laptops because of all their "secret sauce" type features because, imho, there is always something that the laptop vendor isnt "telling" you. Note, also check for BIOS updates & try not to run any other apps while playing LE... doesnt matter how irrelevant, just temporarily dont run them to see if it helps.
Hey there... an alternative way to get the same -5 throwing mana cost is to put "sealed" T1/T2 affixes on each of your rings - sealing a T1 is usually guaranteed and if you are lucky will not kill your forging potential... That will get you -6 throwing mana (T1 on each ring) and will be a LOT easier than finding a T7 affix on an exalted drop. (This obviously assumes you can have two crafted rings and are not restricted to one ring only).
I am always on the lookout for this exalted affix for shadow daggers flat, they are very rare. What skill are you trying to get to zero mana?
Hey, thanks for the answer! Unfortunately I need both a t7 and a t6 in order to reach 0 mana cost so that's not an option
Hammer throw, so I can keep my mana negative to make use of devotion
Sure... its not impossible to do the sealing on higher Tiers but the chance of it working reduce dramatically... problem for me is that its unlikely that you will find a T6 throwing mana affix let alone a T7... and it might be soul destroying to attempt to do so... I'd personally try and figure out another way to make it work...
It would probably be easier to just aim for one t6 or t7, and then effectively reach 0 mana through mana regen
I play this build with no exalted affixes, and it feels fine. I use lunge so I usually want 20-30 mana, just can’t literally spam hammers 100%, maybe 80-90% with my regen. I’m not in game so I don’t know if I have any mana regen affixes on my belt or something or what my mana per second is, but I don’t think it breaks the build with normal -6.
How do I target farm this bow? https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/items/UAwiMBZSA
Never mind I see now. A lvl 58+ area for a lvl 1 item. Ridiculous 😦
All it has over a regular bow is some fire pen. Not sure why you'd want to target farm that, especially if you haven't even reached monos
is there an updated roadmap/forecast somewhere?
last one I can find is pre 8.3
Could have sworn somewhere I read MP is before the new classes (falconer, runemaster, warlock)
it can literally drop anywhere lol
That's a true statement
and mono target farming is for all slots, its not like the lvl 1 items are on their own

Does +x spell damage also affects the dot applied by the spell?
if the DoT specifically says it does, like with hail of arrows
Mmhm, and I'm guessing it doesn't affect ailments
what's the skill you're looking at? specifics would help
The interaction between Turani's Bident and Smite. I'm running an electrify build right now and I'm wondering if it's better to do a crit build instead, since the Pally passive tree has a crazy crit multiplier node.
I can maintain 7+ stacks at a time during boss fights
so that weapon has 6 lines of text. If you're playing an Electrify Ailment build, only lines 3,4,5 are relevant to you
+# Spell Lightning Damage does not affect your ailments
Right, eh it's really hard to do a dps comparison since I need to overhaul my trees and gear
one question regarding the arena of champions: can we influnce whom to fight? or is it purely random?! did it yesterday 3x in a row and always crimson blade showed up...
Nope, it’s random.
im finding it very annoying, and boring, to run Spirits of Fire over and over to get a Bhuldar's Wrath, so far 4 times, but i guess that is the nature of the genre? be nice if i could influence the drop rates in some way or if there was a pity system in place.
If I remember right, corruption actually does increase the chance to get boss uniques, but don't take this for granted without anyone confirming it.
!forecast
Our forecast can be found here: https://forum.lastepoch.com/uploads/default/optimized/2X/d/dd3441b607edfed281fef07d6fc6598bda8647bf_2_397x600.png.
does it matter what class i play for unique drops from bosses? can a rogue get Bhuldars Wrath from spirits of fire?
You can get Bhuldar's wrath on a rogue, it's a 50/50 drop from the bosses so just keep killing.
50% you say, got 5 Herkil's Vessel so far...
You're less likely to get class-specific drops (ie, where the base is a class-specific base such as Shroud of Obscurity being an Acolyte-specific chest base) on not the class. Weapons, except for bows/quivers, aren't class-specific.
Weapon types are weighted by class, though nothing is locked for weapon types.
Ok so me farming a 2H mace with a Rogue is not the best idea ive had then. Feels like i wasted x amounts of hours then, good times...
I heard someone say 300 corruption is the sweet spot for farming currently cause "everything can drop" - is there a way to see which items are corruption-restricted? Searching for corruption on both letools and tunklab doesnt give any results
For random loot dropped by mobs, yeah maybe you would want to use a class that the weapon type is for, assuming the same corruption/clear times. But timeline boss fights pretty much has 4 items, 2 common and 2 rare drops. I believe it boils mostly down to if you got the common or rare drop, has 50% chance to be either one. For each time you don’t get it 4 times on a rogue, someone has got it 4 times in a row. If I’m blatantly wrong, feel free to correct this.
So if the boss decides to drop a common slot (more common with lower item rarity) it either gives you a Bhuldar's Wrath, or a Herkir's Vessel. With what Kain said, I am unsure if there is weight to timeline boss specific drops.
the only restricted drops afaik are the shade of orobyss ones
but 300 is a decent sweet spot in terms of speed/difficulty/reward bonuses
So whoever said that was wrong because the highest shade req is 200?
Yeah, as far as I know nothing else is restricted by corruption, only zone level
but higher corruption is better drop luck right?
I want to farm an Exsanguinous with 2-3 LP. Is this feasible?
Yes.
Make sure to get body armor drop rate blessing from the stolen lance and unique drop rate blessing from fall of the outcasts (if you really wanna go serious mode about it), then do blood frost and death
I have the unique drop rate from fall of the outcasts but not the body armour drop rate from stolen lance. Is it really necessary? I don't feel like doing the timeline again...
It isn't necessary, but it does improve your odds.
the time you spend to redo the timeline will def save you time farming a 2-3 lp semi rare item lol
Yeah. Especially if you're going for 3 lp.
But remember that games are meant to be fun, so if you dont have fun playing hardcore, then play the way the game is fun for you instead.
well that makes sense, but on the other hand I'm thinking that maybe I can focus on blood frost and death increasing corruption and at the same time farming the unique. Going back to stolen lance feels like a waste of time to me
up to 50% increased body armour drop rate will make you see a lot more unique body armours
if you prefer focusing on the body armour reward nodes in bf&d, that's okay
its your choice 🙂
is that amount from empowered timeline?
I mean the 50%
should be, but just asking...
ok got it. well, you know what I think I'll do it. Isn't this the timeline that gives sceptres as unique rewards? I'm looking for a sceptre with LP as well
Correct, lance has sceptres
ok thanks for the info guys
vibe check --- does anyone think this is worth posting as a bug? It feels clunky. https://clips.twitch.tv/SpineyGenerousWrenchDxAbomb-QiGtlzhwUhQJ5BxD
hello, checking out some stuff before making a new build in this patch and was wondering: the javelin talent that converts to electrify (divine throws) does it only convert bleed and ignite chance, or other modifiers (duration, effect) as well?
also, "Keen Outlook" talent that gives more damage the further away the javelin target is but it says "bonus hit damage", that one doesnt work for ailments/dots?
That's correct
It does exactly what it says it does, duration/effect are not converted
thanks, the 2nd part of the description threw me off
Do skill nodes benefit subskills triggered by it as well? e.g. Smite's lightning bolts
Hi, I have a question
If I use a mage specific item without mage affixes like this one into this 3lp unique chest.
The legendary will become a mage specific item or not ? I'd say no because there are no mage affixes on it, but not sure 😄
Does the harvest skill benefit from melee crit chance or spell crit chance and how does the spectral whetstone node which increases the skills base crit chance play into this?
It's a melee skill, so it benefits from melee crit chance
The description of the subskill usually tells you whether it is affected by other nodes in the tree or not
It will not become mage specific, you're fine.
What do you think is better to have in fall of the outcasts, 20% unique drop rate or 70% gold drop rate?
Before Lightless Arbor I would have always taken uniques but not sure now because Arbor chests are really awesome
ty 😉
I said it... specifically without trying to give away spoilers... there is a certain item that is "unlikely" to drop before doing a certain echo at corruption 300 - it 'can' but its very unlikely to do so... So for me, corruption 300 is "the level at which everything can drop"
Well, do tell. I'd like to hear about it, and where you got this information from.
Lots of this discussion on the forums from a few game versions ago..... Dont want to put spoilers here but its probably one of the rarest drops in the game... and doing that echo at high corruption is not easy for most...
Shady vague talk like that just makes you sound like you don't know what you're talking about.
Seriously? Ok, challenge accepted... Omni Amulets have a very low chance of dropping below 300 corruption and you will have more success getting them doing doing Orobyss Echos that are greater than +10 corruption at around 300 corruption. Some people have had them drop after 275 ish corruption but always when running a high + corruption Orobyss...
Is there any actual proof for this?
Apologies if I sound rude, but having read the poe reddit for a while, I am rather skeptic about drop rate rumors
Go read the forums this was discussed a lot when Omnis where first added to the game... Mathematically they can drop after 200 corruption on any Orobyss, but the chances of that happening are very slim and based on feeback on the forum, if you are trying to farm them, then your best chance is at 300 corruption (sweetspot of chance vs difficulty) and the highest +corruption increase on an Orobyss echo. and yes, it did sound rude but then again, most things on chats & forums can be misinterpreted by the reader...
I've asked about it in the other channel. Let's see if we can get a clear answer. I highly doubt the amount of corruption given by a shade node has an impact on the loot though. I find it very likely that is just a rumor caused by the fact that doing a shade that drops you below 200 corruption cant drop omnis cause it already uses the new value (and vice versa, doing a shade that boosts you from 50 to 200 can already drop an omnis)
The amount of +ve corruption making a difference was indicated by Heavy on the forums from his own testing. Following his lead, I found similar results when compared to doing lower +ve Orobyss islands... I noticed this not only on farming for Omnis but farming for other Orobyss only drops like the Maw Axe... I consistently get a better chance of dropping higher rarity items on higher +ve Orobyss echos. Rumour? Entirely up to you but from my own testing there does seem to be some benefit... One thing that is obvious if you read through the old forum posts, the devs were/are very cagey about confirming this kind of thing and most of this was from players posting their findings. I have never bothered testing the borderline scenario where the corruption gain from the echo pushes you above or below the minimum corruption requirement - thats too pedantic for me and based on past experience with LE drops, just ticking the minimum is not the best approach for getting something...
i wanna give an electrify pally a shot, flat weapon damage can be ignored , mostly attackspeed and electrify/shock chance stacking right?
Hi,
Quick question here, I find the stats really unclear on how damage are calculated.
I noticed that if I have 0% damage increase on my minion and equip a 100% "minion damage increase" item, then all the minion damage stats (necrotic, melee, physical, etc.) jump to 100%.
SO is this supposed to mean that a minion hitting on melee and physical would get a 200% damage increase (ie. (1 + (1+1) )* (base+added*effectiveness)) ???
Because I would (logically IMO) have assumed that it would only display 100 % on "minion damage increase" and 0% on the other stats hence leading to a (correct, IMO) 100% damage increase overall.
Ask in another way, If my stats sheet shows 125 % "minion damage increase", 125% "minion physical damage increase" and 265 % "minion melee damage increase". How much "increased damage" do my minions get in total ?
A) 125 + 125 +265
B) 125 +265
C) 125+140
D) Other
There should be a page in the in game game guide for "Added, Increased, and More" which should explain how different modifiers add up.
If you have 125% increased minion damage, 125% increased minion physical damage, and 265% increased minion melee damage you would have:
Minion deals any damage = (base damage * (1 + 1.25))
Minion deals any physical damage = (base damage * (1 + 1.25 + 1.25))
Minion deals melee damage = (base damage * (1 + 1.25 + 2.65))
Minion deals specifically physical melee damage = (base damage * (1 + 1.25 + 1.25 + 2.65))
If a minion were to deal 20 melee physical damage, 30 melee cold damage as base damage it would be:
(20 * (1 + 1.25 + 1.25 + 2.65)) + (30 * ( 1 + 1.25 + 2.65))
-- damage type modifiers only apply to the portion of the damage that matches that type, not the entire damage of the skill, even if it has the 'physical' tag on the skill.
If you have "Minions deal +X melee physical damage", then that would add to the base damage for the calculation.
These calculations are not minion specific. Any "increased" modifiers are additive with each other regardless of specificity, and multiplicative with base damage. "effectiveness" is another modifier which may come into the calculation as multiplicative with base and increased, as well as Critical stats and potentially other "more" modifiers.
there is one, I read it.
I understand your answer, do we agree then that it makes the "increased minion damage" stats even "more" strong. Because as I said a 0% everywhere character equipping a 100% "increased minion damage" get 100% everywhere resulting in a 300% increase on a specifically physical melee damage minion (given your calculations).
So I did some tests, and it does not seem to work the way you described it.
I replaced in my gear 100% increased physical damage by 100% minion damage effectively keeping all the stats the same but with 100% more in minion damage. You should expect an increase in damage, but it didn't change anything.
The character screen will add any appropriate non-skill-specific modifiers in to every line they relate to which is why the +100% increased minion damage affix affects all minion damage lines. The damage calc only applies the damage modifier once.
It's always been like this, but Mike is working on a reworked character screen which will hopefully make things clearer as well as giving us all the skill-specific info we want. Unfortunately it's been delayed due to EHG focussing on MP.
That's because you replaced 1 instance of "100% increased" with another slightly different instance of "100% increased". As long as both instances would affect the damage of the minion they are equivalent (if your minion does phys damage).
You'd also see no change to your melee phys minion if you replaced the "100% increased" with 100% increased minion melee damage.
Ok thanks, so that is the description which is unclear. In my example above, the correct answer is ??? C ?
i get that, the trick is that the "minion damage increase" change ALL the values, so according to the character screen, I did not only replace 100% by another but actually added 100% on the "minion damage increase" AND 100% on ALL the others stats.
Personally I'd go with D. As it depends how those figures you quoted are made up. TLDR, the character screen adds any modifiers that it can to the character screen, but the damage calc only ever uses modifiers once.
In the end, what I want to know is, given the character screen how do I take into account each terms ? It is really not obvious given the "minion damage increase" seems to be counted several times.
So if you had 125% increased minion damage & 140% increased minion melee damage affixes/modifiers, yes, you'd get option C as what the game does.
Exactly, how are they made up ?
Yeah, general damage modifiers are added to all lines that it can add them to. Hence your 100% increased minion damage modifier is being added in to all the minion damage lines on the character sheet.
Well, I wrote the higher up comment before doing the maths to get what modifiers you had.
TLDR: general damage modifiers will be applied to all lines on the character sheet.
But they only get used by the damage calc once.
It's not ideal, which is why they're working on a different character sheet.
Because, as you say, it's confusing as fuck, until you know how it works, then it's just annoying that you have to manually strip out the more general modifiers.
uh, that makes it really hard for theory crafting => it means that I have to substract general modifier everywhere but once ?
Yeah, use the build planner, it's more obvious/easier to understand there.
And you can hover over the damage modifier lines to see how they're made up.
Yup.
Which is why they're reworking that screen.
Ok, got it ! Thanks
The build planner is where you want to go to do your theory crafting.
Though in my real case, I was just wondering which weapon was better ^^
Then I'd probably just compare the weapons in-game & see which has the highest amount of total relevant damage modifiers.
A screen pic would help
yeah given what you said, the highest number is the best
Basically I had to chose between 80% general modifier or 100% physical for melee, physical minions which lead to the question "wait 80% general grants 80% physical AND 80% melee, so it must be better".
But well as you explained, nop
What’s your favorite 2H melee build? What feels fun
Is there any way to level up fast (farm exp)
Not really.... The Monolith echos with XP rewards (book icon) do give decent chunks depending on your current level but beyond that I dont think there is any specific way... Obviously you can get the XP blessing on the first Monolith timeline (every little bit helps) and running areas/maps that are your level or a little higher also gives more xp... cannot remember the exact cut off point, but if I recall the devs mentioned that the max XP you can get based on running x levels above your current level is capped.. (I seem to remember it being something like 5-10 levels above you but I could be mistaken). Sure @balmy current knows...
hey, is there a way to filter items by the legendary potencial in the lootfilter?
Not yet
So if you're lvl 80 in a lvl 90 zone you'll get xp as if it were a lvl 85 zone.
not particularly noticeable imo
until like you're 20 or 30 under
and you should never realistically be over
as far as fast xp, the 2nd quest echo in spirits of fire is decent
and the 2nd quest echo in ending the storm
roll up some high xp modifiers and do those over and over, just teleport out before you finish the objective
Is endurance good? Like for main way of defense..and any suggestions for endurance relate item
endurance % is great
you want it capped to 60% on any HP-based character
endurance threshold isn't amazing, but works well for mage builds that use damage taken to mana
typically want to hit that 60% cap via the empowered blessing and then another source of at least 13%, generally engraved gauntlet's implicit
anyone here has the new ryzen 7 5800x3d? I'm curious how it performs in LE
Should i start entering dungeon( i am lvl 80) and i never enter one yet....if yea, which one first ( have all type of key)
Don't think it matters which first. They all have a purpose, so choose what you want to do?
Like want to give a unique with LP more stats, do the temporal one
Etc etc
Quick one: Can anyone confirm if Eternal Eclipse Kopesh Sword Fire & Void "on next melee" attacks proc on a channelled skill like Warpath? (would test it myself but not cannot right now).
pretty sure it procs on the first hit only
Thought it might... thanks for confirming...
Can someone tell me how exactly lethal mirage works?
Does it do a fixed number of hits? Or is it fixed duration during which you hit as much as attackspeed allows?
It hits based on the numer of mirages you have selected (nodes in the skill tree) and if you have additional mirages based on shadows... You can make it create the same mirages faster but its still the same number of "hits"... ie.. each Mirage = each hit... And if you have shadow cascade, then each mirage does a shadow cascade....
how many hits do you get without any specializations?
thats pretty sweet. thanks!
Do the Blizzard and Frostbite nodes in the Summon Storm Totem tree scale off of generic Minion Damage, or just Minion Cold and Minion Spell damage?
Ok, apparently it scales off of YOUR cold and spell damage. That's wild!
does speccing sacrifice on smite (damage/health cost) also affect the damage of lightning bolts smite can proc if specd?
Does "Increased damage of skills used by shadows" apply to skills with a specialization that consumes shadows? I assume not but not sure
Would this Multistrike node increase Smite procs damage?
No - Because Smite has it's own tree, it does not scale with nodes in other trees (aside from things that give global buffs)
15 with the chest mod that gives +1 mirage, right? 😄
Yeah, probably not, just curious. I really like omnislash style abilities
can anyone help me with a decent autobomber lootfilter? apparently one im using is hiding loads of stuff, its my first build and im not confident enough to build my own D:
Is there a trick to getting the Logi's Hunger amulet? Like do I have to kill Logi first/last? Or is it just random?
To answer my own question, seems like it doesn't matter but Logi's only drops in empowered, which isn't specified on lastepichtools.com
Logi's Hunger can drop in non-empowered mono, empowered has better drop chance though. kill order doesn't matter
is that a new change? I found a dev comment on reddit from a year ago that says it can't
5 votes and 2 comments so far on Reddit
it was changed when they added new drops while ago
huh, guess I've just been spectaculrly unlucky then. either way, farming empowered only now just to up my chances
thx @fringe birch
sure feels that low
I think I've run it 5 times in the last few days
so yeah... got some more RNG to get beat up by
drop chance scales with item rarity, so get few easy modifiers before boss fight to increase your chances. you can have really good drop chance with high enough rarity.
yesterday I got an amulet drop and got all excited, but it ended up being a Claw lol
I'll try that next thx
yeah, it does scale with rarity, but I'm unsure just how much impact it actually has
a lot 🙂
even killing bosses with 700-800% rarity you don't see their rare drop every kill
yeah there's a cap, dunno how much rarity you need to reach drop chance cap
Perry put ouot a video about it a few months back. I forgot about it because I don't tend to grind specific boss drops very often
but I'm trying to make a wraith totem build to farm T4 julra
so off to the grind I go
oh, just use a death rattle tbh
the only real benefit you get from using logi's is the implicit resists
death rattle is more damage otherwise
I need the resists so I can work on my endurance and crit avoid. damage isn't my issue as much as defenses right now
L88 and can barely run empowered because it's so rippy
need to beat T4 julra for that
I saw the post on reddit yesterday about that other relic with rip blood. gonna try that
I'd def focus on getting the endurance asap, luckily if you're farming spirits of fire then you should end up with a decent endurance blessing
and can then cap with chest or gloves
well I'm not farming it on my totem build because I can't do empowered lol
it's kinda silly but that's where I'm at with that right now
hmmm I don't remember having that many problems getting mine going
it's fun experimenting with different flavors of the build but they all need some crazy tricks to not feel bad
what's your gear like?
not great. using wolkje's version of the build because it's the cheapest but still missing decent gear because I'm not farming super efficiently with it
also since I'm kinda swapping back and forth between different versions, I'm not focusing my gear very well
if you happen to have Ferebor's Persistence rings I found those a gear filler item prior to getting vessel and other gear set up
yep
and ward retention/int for when I get ward going
yep
Hows ignite atm? Heard it got nerfed recently
I don't think ignite has gotten any nerfs?
it certainly hasn't needed them anyways lol
it got a small base damage bump a while back from like
35 to 37?
it's definitely still the weakest ailment damage-wise
currently it's pretty good because the ring from Soulfire Bastion is busted af, but that's more that single item making ignite relevant than ignite itself being powerful
does speccing sacrifice on smite (damage/health cost) also affect the damage of lightning bolts smite can proc if specd?
anyone?
it should scale all of smite's subskills too, yeah
unless otherwise noted by the nodes, generic multipliers apply to all subskills and ailments applied by a skill
cool, thx
different question, attribute damage bonus for ailments are they generic increase or multiplicative?
attribute bonuses apply to ailments, but are generally increased damage and thus additive with other increased damage sources
some attribute bonuses obviously can't/won't apply to ailments because they're not applicable modifiers
if its a plain ailment dot applied by say a strength skill that bonus still applies to the damage over time right?
as long as the strength scaling on the skill is something that would normally scale that damage over time, like say... 4% increased damage per point of strength
but if you're applying say...ignite and the skill scaling is 4% increased necrotic damage per intelligence then obviously necrotic damage scaling won't apply to ignite
but it would work for damned or other necrotic damage over time effects
oh so strength for bleed when applied by some phys/throw skill doesnt actually do anything?
it does if the skill's scaling would normally apply to bleed
most skills have generic "4% increased damage per point of <attribute> which applies to all ailments
some have more specific scaling that might not
ah okay, maybe i havent seen type specific attribute scaling yet
good to know, thx again
is there anything useful I can put on an LP Aberrant Call for wraith totems other than like... +all attributes?
oh I guess miinion spell damage
god I'm never getting this stupid Logi amulet
minion spell damage and cast speed mostly
I'm currently planning to build a WS poison lich. Curious to know if there are any guides out there on skills, leveling, gear etc?
Okay, this seems....out of the ordinary.
I took a long hiatus but am starting to dip my toes back in.
Fired up this character (who last i touched a few months ago)
all skills and passives are accounted for.
Lvl 75 starting echo (i think - still getting used to the new vernacular)
Don't take damage and I don't deal damage. At all.
It was actually pretty funny.
Am I missing something with a switchover that I just didn't see in trying to catchup with updates?

This is a known bug which can occur within the Sigils of Hope tree which we've been tracking but unable to reproduce internally. Normally this is reported to occur with the "Faith" node. If you find a way to reliably reproduce this issue, please report it on our bug report forums.
not much out there yet since it just now came back to be viable in a recent hotfix
but I'd definitely suggest the standard reaper form + death seal, hungering souls is great
spirit plague is an option
When it says increases that don't have a specific damage type it refers to spell damage% right?
no, spell damage is a specific type
this node refers to lightning damage % and damage %
ah gotcha, thanks, and elemental damage
yep
hi. is it possible to drop Twisted Heart of Uhkeiros from non legendary diff ?
Thx
hey there, big beginner question: Can I start crafting right away or should I save the materials?
Most of the shards you'll find are very common and can definitely be used right away. The ones you may want to save for later are mostly the +level to one ability type ones
Do we know what "race" the Shade of Orobyss is?
Echoes have mods like Undead, Void, etc. enemies do more damage, do any of those apply to the shade, and if yes, which?
Boss
anyone know if it is real for Prism Wraps - Timeline to target farm: Blood, Frost, and Death ("Unique or Set Body Armour" echoes)
Random Drop (Common)?
It's a random drop, but that mono has unique body armour as a mono reward
So "Undead enemies deal 100% increased damage" wouldn't actually apply to bosses, even if they are clearly undead (Say, Formosus)?
That I'm not entirely sure. Certainly, they aren't affected by "rare enemies" modifiers.
Probably best to ask the devs
Pretty rare to see more than 1LP on this if you are hunting it
Anyone come up with a build that is a thorns type mob beats it's own head in build?
Am I doing something wrong, or do multistrike swords only hit other enemies, not the same target?
dang, not what I had hoped for. oh well
How does this umbral blades node interact with shadows, who already throw only one blade anyway?
It doesn't interact with shadows, just the blade you throw
Figured, thanks for the confirmation
would be broken if the shadows got that buff as well I guess 😄
comes other langue? when yes when ?
I tried a Ice Thorns build that was like that but it didn't work too well. I think there might be a Sentinel version but I doubt it's anything like the D2 Paladin Thorns builds.
if i have a 2lp level 15 leveling sword and put t5-t7 mods into that will the requirement go up?
Yes
bummer
Yeah it would have to be both tier 3 mods or lower for the requirement not to go up
anyone else having this issue where i cant upgrade a mod even though i have crafting potential? apparently the item doesnt even recognize the mod existing
you have no shard selected. what happens when you click the upgrade arrow for minion health?
Looks like a legacy item to me, Minion Health isn't a boot prefix anymore, so it won't let you upgrade it
Hello. It is a good idea to rush to empowered monolith or better just building corruption on normal one on the beginning?
rush empowered 100%
I'm curious: has anyone tried running a ttrpg in the LE setting yet?
A what now
Tabletop RPG
LE hasn't even launched, the story isn't even finished
Dunno why you're pinging me on that, I just explained the acronym you asked about
is there any info on how much void damage taken increase the time bubble gives? (anomaly)
its either +100% or bugged and its 0. I can't remember which is the last info
sure feels like nothing on a dummy atleast
Doing my monthly drop in to ask if there’s Multiplayer in this game yet
!multiplayer
Multiplayer is still being worked on. Here's an update: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
Does the node that lets your bear cast swipe use the swipe skill tree?
Heya folks. I was planning to ask about buff stacking in multiplayer in the next dev stream (if those are still a thing).
Just to make sure I'm not asking about something that's already had information released, is there any kind of list somewhere of how skills will stack in MP?
Anyone know what Warlock will eventually be focusing on?
Nope
its got mention of curses, thats about it.
Hi, I don't understand why this quest is still here and how to finish/clear it; I'm level 80 and have done multiple next monoliths
You have to complete the Stolen Lance path in Fall of the Outcasts
Hey guys quick question, im a beastmaster level 49, i have skilled pack hunters, force or nature and am wearing artor's legacy. Shouldn't i have 4 wolfs?
When you defeat the final boss, choose the 'unlocks level 62 timeline" option
You need something that allows you to have more than 2 wolves. By default, you can only have one of each companion. Pack Hunters allows you a second wolf. You need Safety in Numbers from the Wolf tree or the The Claw / The Fang amulet to be able to summon more wolves.
Ah i see, thanks mate 👍
Avian Shelter gives my endurance to my minions. There is no way to give them endurance treshold though, is there?
That make sense now I indeed choose the level 66 over the 62 because it was under my level already iirc, thanks a lot.
Not that I am aware of.... The devs have already made changes to the skills etc in anticipation of MP requirements & performance - e.g. things like reducing the number of summonned minions possible (just imagine 4 necros summoning hundreds of minions)... but I dont think they have specifically provided MP info down to how stacking will be affected.... You could ask in the devs chat section but I doubt they will be forthcoming right now...
Hello all is there any unique items that effect static orb from sorcerer tree?
Not specifically, no. Only stuff like +1 to elemental skills
Hi guys! managed to progress up until the level 90 monoliths, can do them but I'm only level 78 and I read that I'll gain xp only as if it was a monster level 83 zone. Shall I still try to get through into the empowered ones (which will be like 20 levels above me) and try to get my endgame blessigns or is it better to rush the level 85 or 90 monos for faster xp? my problem is also that I'd love a bastion and the non-empowered mono for it is level 66,so not too xp effective to farm it.
cheers trying a static/static orb build having quite alot of fun with it at the moment
Static Orb is a really cool skill, one of my favorites
As long as you can handle the difficulty, getting to empowered asap is definitely the right choice
Thanks, I'll do try then.
Last I played was around last summer? Before the big update in September I think, how much has stuff changed since then

If I just have a character mid-leveling following a build from a few patches ago (Nov 2021), am I okay to continue leveling given all the recent patches? Or should I restart a new character
probably fine to continue levelling -- might want to check for updated build guides similar to your character for suggestions on how changes might apply
Sweet I will keep on leveling. It was a Poison/Blade Flurry blade dancer build guide by Arborus on the Epoch Builds channel. Thanks!
lol... was just gonna mention that... flurry got hammered fixed in 0.8.5
Ahhh glad I brought it up!
might want to chose another rogue/blade dancer spec
I'll go build shopping then
iirc, arborus said it lost like 95% of its dps after the flurry changes 😦
umbral blades poison blade dancers are still going strong 🙂 might be an easy shift
I'll look into that then, thanks!
g'luck 🙂
Umbral blades is great leveling, puncture if you want to bleed things
yep, poison flurry got absolutely nuked, but umbral blades is excellent and a relatively easy transition if you can get some throwing attack speed on rings/gloves
The man himself! Sweet, I'll look up an Umbral Blades build
People like poison explosion, but you can also go to the upper left for big spinning blades. I would say the bladestorm route requires more points to get going, so pending your character level it won’t get going as fast as poison.
Poison can be fine with like 6 points iirc, epoch builds has a recent leveling video on it.
I'll check that out, ty. A lot of these Umbral Blades guides talk about using shadows to trigger blade storms - is that still a thing? Reading mixed anecdotes about whether it was removed or not
You can create 4 shadows with sync strike (and it has other buffs you can grab in the tree) and then shift to make their deaths create umbral blades
So it’s like you wouldn’t even cast it most of the time, you sync strike and then shift and then the blades come from the shadows consumption
You build sync strike, shift, and shadow cascade with it. It can be just using sync strike, shifting, and running with haste for 3 seconds, repeat.
Oh I see
Your shadows will cast the daggers node from shadow cascade, and then they turn into umbral blades. It’s crazy efficient. On mobile so I don’t have a planner but it’s a common way people build it.
Is it okay to hide all magic items or do you end up wanting them for shattering at some point?
Thanks for the insight @pliant shadow
I have my filter to show most rare affixes from all classes at like tier 3+ to shatter. Once I get to like 30 or so I’ll take them off
Be sure to put it above any filter that limits class specific drops
Gotcha, I've been finding the loot filter stuff a little frustrating. The one on Boardmans VK autobomber guide actually just hid literally everything due to a condition checked at the bottom. Didn't notice for awhile, and Heavy'z is showing me a ton of stuff I don't care about
This is the only game I’ve made my own filters for, and it’s a priceless tool to figure out. If you’re going to invest more than like 20 hours in this game ever, I feel it’s worth it.
Leveling you want to specify item type, and then what affixes. To make it easier I would just chose what prefixes you would want, because if you show items with resists it will most likely be a lot of things you actually don’t care about.
most filters are built with a hide everything at the bottom
filters prioritize from top to bottom
so if hide everything is the bottom most rule, every rule above it will still show up/apply
Yeah if it's hiding everything and the rule is at the bottom that means you just never dropped anything that it was filtering for
Guys how and when do the different layers of damage reduction apply? For example when a hit is reduced by block and glancing blow how is the calculation for the reduction? And how does a less damage modifier come into play?
Less multipliers are multiplicative, and because of that, the order does not matter. if both proc at the same time, they multiply together, if you had say 100% chance to block a hit, and had 50% less damage taken thanks to block effect, and you also procced a glancing blow
Damage * 0.5 * 0.65
Would be the formula, 50% less from block, and 35% less from the glancing blow. you would take only 32.5% of the damage, or a total of 67.5% damage reduction.
But there is a difference between less damage taken and reduced damage if im not mistaken. So they shouldnt apply by simply multiplying or am i seeing this wrong?
what is saying it reduces damage, unless you have different sources of reduced damage then its still multiplicative. for example if you had 25% reduced damage, and 25% less damage then it would be (1 - 0.25) * 0.75 or 0.562 total damage taken, for a grand total of 43.8% reduced damage. the formula for two 25% less would be 1 * 0.75 * 0.75 which is also equal to 0.562
if you for some reason had different sets of reduced damage, then those would add together, but as far as I can recall there isnt really any sources of reduced damage for incoming damage because generally reduced damage is very strong in that regard.
Ah okay are you reading the game guide? the game guide uses crappy wording a bit
if you read the game guide for glancing blows it will state they "reduce damage" but if you read the flavor text for a glancing blow on an item that grants it like arrow guard it will say "a glancing blow deals 35% less damage"
Same for block, block in the game guide says "reduces damage from a hit" but again flavor text on an item clarifies its actually less.
Yeah i thought block and glancing blow were reduced damage modifiers and for example titan heart had a less damage modifier
But thanks for the clarification!
No problem
what's the de facto website for finding the best LE builds?
I've only been checking in every few months, but do the devs usually post in advance if they may be doing a livestream (such as in the news channel)? And I'm probably blind, but is there a devtracker in Discord for when posts are put up in the dev blog section of the forum (including updates, such as to the multiplayer thread)?
Every Friday at 3 I think Mike does a Twitch
It should show up in the #🔴┃livestream-shoutout channel, or you could create a twitch account & follow https://www.twitch.tv/lastepochgame then you'll get emailed whenever they start streaming.
is there a penalty for skill experience? when dying for example. do i lose some or do i gain less exp for some time?
nope
there is a scaling penalty for skill xp based on your skill level vs your character level, though
which effectively hard caps your skill levels until your character level goes up
Ahhh i see makes sense. Thanks!
Can tooltip DPS values be trusted?
Not really
Not surprised, seems like most ARPGs over value attack speed when it comes to DPS calcs
There is a lot of weirdness with it. It's generally useful for seeing if new gear increases your damage, but you do have to be aware it'll sometimes be misleading
it's only really accurate for simple skills that hit once per use
And don't have conditional modifiers such as damage v bosses, v ignited, etc
or AoE
Is there any more xp value in having higher corruption?
yes, corruption is a multiplier to the strength of monolith modifiers, among other things, so it increases the xp and rarity bonus those modifiers provide
Good to know, I will start stacking it then and move things along.
not super valuable in normal monoliths, but once you're into empowered, it definitely speeds up the 80-100 stretch
Yup, almost there.
used to hit 100 around 250 corruption or so, might be slightly different nowadays? not sure how much or if that aspect of monoliths has changed since I got everything to 100
It will help with the new Stability too.
seems faster to hit 100 now mostly because there is more time spent killing in monos for more builds on average. I grinded out a solo character recently trying to farm liches scorn, did just the normal route to empowered, then farmed till I got the drop, I did around 170 echos to farm it and ended up at like 94.5
I was only farming at 150 corruption too
does the right timeline and blessings affect orobys drops at all?
Blessings do I believe, I don't think timeline does though. Corruption technically does as well.
On the topic of blessings, would the "fire shred by x%" from Spirits of fire also affect minions?
If it doesn't specify "Minions" then no
Near perfect fire res it is then!
endurance % blessing is super good
definitely plays a role in fire and necrotic being somewhat weaker damage types
Except if you're me and equipping Exsanguinous on every character
can someone recommend a good breakdown writeup or video of navigating echoes for farming things?
is there any info how much damage shaman earthquakes aftershocks do? i cant find any seperate ability in epochtools, does that just mean its the same base damage?
Tunk's site has it if you hover over the aftershock icon.
2 base damage & the usual stats (5% crit chance, etc)
i forgot about that site, thx
There's a reference to this subskill in earthquake skill tree, but naming is just identical
Heya folks. For Ballista's Perfect Aim node, does it only gain crit multi from "adds +x% critical strike multiplier" affixes etc, or does it also gain crit multi from my base stat?
In other words, if I have no increased crit multi at all, I have a base of 200% crit multi. If I max Perfect Aim, will my Ballistas gain 200% crit multi, or 0%?
For balance reasons I would assume the 0% scenario, but a literal reading of the skill description would suggest the 200%, to me.
Without seeing the skill I'd say it depends on the wording. If it says from your bonus crit multi then it's only taking whatever gear mods you have, not base.
I'd assume it doesn't inherit your base because it already has its own base.
From testing it appears to be the more balanced of the two options, but here's the wording if you were curious
we got a multiplayer date yet?
!multiplayer
Multiplayer's still in development. Here's the latest news: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
So. speculatively while I try to get a handle on crafting
What would everyone do with this? Trash? Sell? Craft?
If craft, what would be some ideas?
could be a decent leveling weapon, but it's the type of thing that would just rot in my stash probably
i suspected that. Is it because the weapon itself is primarily a leveling type wpn?
Trying to understand what others spot or look for.
yeah, just a low level base
also not a particularly strong unique in general, it lacks much use outside of leveling until you can access stronger options
But with 3 LP it'll be more useful longer on the right build
yeah, 3 lp can help keep it relevant longer, just gotta make sure you don't bump the level requirement too high
okay, noob question. I'm having a bear of a time doing the Last Ruin and getting past that tri-elemental whirl.
And this is even on normal no less (trying to graduate to empowered.)
I stay close to him but no matter what I still get drained.
I'm using a building version of Rimed's Retaliation Paladin
As I have none of the uniques
my other gear isn't terrible
but i suspect it may be slightly low health and/or now health leech.
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/0Qdzxl1o
oh and when I take him on i do swap out some relics to bump up my fire resist to about 85%.
You should just be able to run around as the beam moves, especially with that movement speed
i guess i gotta get good cause I tried that and it catches me every time. but I'll give it another go. maybe i just need to find the right distance to keep it at length. I was getting in close.
If you want a cheese strat, give the boss frenzy or enrage. Pretty sure it still bugs him out and he’ll skip the beam entirely if his attack speed is buffed
Otherwise yeah, just keep close
oh that's what causes that 😄
has anyone tried this game on the steam deck?
Pretty sure Devs said it doesn't work yet
They haven't tested, certainly, as to whether it works or not that's another matter entirely
But apparently it has issues on steam deck
You were spot on. I easily just ran ahead of it.
I know the first few times I couldn't do that because I tried and got caught
but I did upgrade a few pieces of gear and I think I added those boots and that ring.
regardless, it worked perfectly and I had no other issues at all.
thx for the help!!!
@brittle atlas Imma remember that cheese strat for empowered though, just to be safe. 😄
does generic spell damage leech from the blessing work for spell damage over time? (not ailment)
Yeppers
hmmm maybe i should keep that.. thanks
Was there news when the devs will put out ALL character attributes? They wanted to do that at some point.
As of right now they are not working on the remaining few masteries according to the interview(?) with Ziz, however it will be done by 1.0 release at the latest iirc
What do you mean by attributes?
I assumed masteries because that and a few skills are the only things really missing in characters. And I'm uncertain if English is their main language judging by the sentence structure and words chosen.
Sorry, it probably wasn't very accurate.
i meant every character stat in the game.
hey can someone tell me how to compare a weapon i got in my inventory with a weapon i wear in my offhand?
how complicated ...
It's a beta, they have other fish to fry currently.
as if its such a big deal to bind a key which compares gear with your offhand or the other ring
You should apply, they are still hiring smart people that know how to program. Is that you?
Wow you must been a true class clown back in your school. 👍
is there anything blatantly terrible in there?
you want base crit instead of increased on weapon almost certainly. you probably want a bone amulet instead of sapphire. bronze belt instead of ranger's. crit avoid blessing instead of suffixes. age of winter could probably be phys res shred or armor %. you want hybrid hp on boots and belt 100%. you should be able to drop one of your endurance % suffixes. You want armor shred on weapon suffix or necklace suffix or both. chill on weapon probably. frailty on necklace or relic. If you're not playing HC, you could definitely swap out idols for damage-related ones.
A: Ty
B: the reason i went with %hp on boots and belt is because hybrid hp is marked as very rare while % is marked as common, i avoided putting any exalted "very rare" mods on
C: i assume bone amulet because its more res efficient, then i can drop some phys/necro res elsewhere and cap my cold from idols
D: are there any particular damage stats on idols that stand out for this kind of build?
You should get both on belt, hybrid on boots, hybrid on gloves (if you're not using a unique) basically always. Very rare ends up not being that rare overall. I have like 250 of them atm and I'm not exactly stingy with them.
Bone amulet is significantly more res efficient, yeah.
Increased melee damage if a skill echoed recently + armor shred on melee hit or health. warpath area + melee void damage
noted
ty again
https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/volV8zLQ
@brittle atlas outside of not dropping one of the endurance rolls, im pretty sure i changed all of the points you commented on
if you have a T5 endurance suffix and the blessing you should be able to drop the second one
but i did get everything else?
ty again btw
I feel like there's something wrong with my video settings
This is what I see on the create a character screen, and it doesn't look right at all
well, I don't see the white bar off on the side
but it DOES cut off right about there
my monitor is 1280x1024, and I have the settings on my computer and the game set to that
weirdly, it seems to fit better if I set to 1280x800, which is mismatched to my monitor. Does this happen to anybody else?
Mine does similar but not as drastic on 1680x1050 (which is my resolution, can't afford to upgrade just yet), I don't lose much though. Edges of the monolith web and icons for skill level ups (when there's 3 or more at once) are really the only things that get cut in my experience.
I've had similar issues on other games, battlefleet gothic I lose so much of the UI I actually can't navigate the pregame menu
This is actually the only time I've had this issue that I can think of, I don't know why
Not yet.
Do the effects of Taste of Blood stack when dual-wielding? As in cutting the bleeding duration down to 1/4?
no, it will only double up bleed once
Is Architect Liath supposed to be hard or is my build bad by now?
Not really that hard, but its important that your defences are adequate especially resistances to her attacks. She is the precursor to Lagon - which is an even bigger jump in difficulty for most builds/new players who have sailed through the preceeding campaign levels without making sure their defences are good - probably because their offenses killed things quickly so defence was never really needed or tested until now
@sharp quartz I have lightning res capped (only?) 27% armor and still find it difficult with my warpath build. I have 1.2k hp, no ward and no endurance
Do you have any leech/life on melee hit?
@balmy current not at the moment 😦
That'll be a problem then as the only way you have to get your hp back up is potions. There's a node (World Eater) in Void Knight that gives melee leech .
Additionally, damage could be the problem.
@balmy current a bit better with life leech, still took a few tries, the Lagon was easier for my build. Thanks
Thanks for the answer!
what level are you?
anyone know wether this buff affects an entire ability plus sub skills created like an aftershock? example forge strikes detonating ground
respecced a char, seems like it doesnt affect detonating ground at all, unfortunate
If I am going to level and play this build, what is the best way to spec umbral blades early? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ut8Bco9o5U
Umbral Blades Poison Emerald Cutlass Bladedancer Last Epoch Build Guide 3 Mill DPS + Tanky BD Things
In this video I go over a highly requested build, Poison Umbral Blades Blade Dancer, as it has a very satisfying visual, and for once the good visuals are paired with a good build, as over 3 mill ticks on the dummy while also being glancing blow...
Literally poison umbral blades is great
oh I can go right into poison off the start?
Grab the bleed to poison conversion, then grab the global bleed stacks from puncture and it will carry you
Also explosions are important
explosions before poison/bleed conversion?
You use flurry until then, but tbh after the nerfs to flurry maybe you just use puncture
Yeah explosions first, then conversion
Cheers man! Thank you so much for that guide and all the other content you create
Of course any time
It wouldn't, the node does say "next" melee attack
Detonating ground is the "next->next" melee attack
in my head the detonating ground wasnt a seperate/standalone attack
i hoped it was an extension of forge strike
would i do the twilight assault and duskhunter points last
or edge of obscruity and umbral remnant
aside from that the aoe of forge strike / detonating ground is not as big as i remembered so nevermind to that idea
are the maps random during the campaign?
The more damage per dusk shrouds are least j.lkrtant
Important*
Hi, I'm quite new to the game, anything I have to keep in mind?
Campaign, phys res, movement speed, damage. Most important
Rush to empowereds
hp on suffixes as much as possible, especially increased hp
Ohh aight thanks! Ill keep those in mind
does "adaptive" spell damage mean it becomes whatever type of damage of the skill its used with? literally havent made a caster yet
Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what it is
is a build using the winds of justice warpath node any good?
Look at this one, should give you guidance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5Xzm4FGsEQ&t=397s

Will this game ever go Multi-Player?
theres a command for updates
!multiplayer
Multiplayer's still in development. Here's the latest news: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/official-last-epoch-multiplayer-faq/42036.
anyone got a compilation of guides for understanding crafting, loot filters and other stuff?
crafting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gWE6xW8Xlw
loot filters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oxak-0bRTw
other stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3YP37Uzm-8
thanks!
you can also check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giL5qXHM7aA just for an explaination of how the crafting system works
So how are loot drops handled in this game? I have about 6 characters started, ranging in level from 12-30. I have yet to see an elite or a boss drop anything worth even picking up. Loot chests are pretty much the same. As a matter of fact I have gotten higher level drops from low level single creatures, or common mobs on kill than I have ever gotten any other method. This is extremely frustrating. I have numerous other issues with the mechanics of how this game works, such as maps completely resetting each and every time you leave an area even if its just to teleport back to town to drop/sell loot and then come back. When you do that if it was a boss room or an area with a high number of elite/mobs then they are also reset right along with everything else and your previous loot is gone. Shouldn't there be at least some kind of reset timer for a short period to prevent this. One of the other downsides to this also is that if I start a new character and reach the camp I can exploit the game by opening the chest in camp, go to the next map, hit the three chests in that map all located on the right and bottom of the map along the edge, go back to camp and hit that chest again and completely outfit my character with gear in a matter of minutes. Granted it will all be lower level appropriate gear, but I have also gotten at least three relics this way as well. The drop rate and reset mechanics make no sense to me. There is so, so much more and I understand this is still a beta game, but it is an increasingly frustrating one to say the least for a relatively new player.
You shouldn't be returning to town to sell gear, the gold you get from doing that is irrelevant
And "exploiting" the system to open chests is also a non-issue, more often than not those chests are barely worth opening
Exactly, that's another issue. If there is no real reason to sell loot for gold, why is there gold? What purpose does it serve, why is it a drop at all if its worthless for the most part? Why not just replace all those drops with more random gear or shards to be able to forge stuff yourself or slightly increase and adjust the drop rate for higher tier level items based on the level or tier of the enemy or the chest within that area?
Through the campaign bosses don't drop a lot. Monolith bosses however have a dedicated loot pool.
Gold is used to expand your stash and for Lightless Arbor. Not worthless at all.
You're asking these questions because you've got 6 low level characters
^^^^
Play the game some more
Gold is used to buy stash tabs & in the Lightless Arbour dungeon
No I am asking these questions because as a 50+ year old veteran arpg player I have never played a game where only one enemy type had decent drops or that I had to wait until I am half way through the level cap or more to see something drop that seems worth keeping for an extended period of time. Your logic makes no sense.... Just because my characters are "low level" ( not sure I consider a level 30 character low level but I digress), doesn't mean that the game should purposely be frustrating until you are almost half way or more to the level cap. Which I assume is 100 or somewhere close to it.
It takes like an hour to reach level 30, you are asking these questions because you lack context of the game as a whole. Crafting is how you make your gear in this game
I can guarantee you haven't had a single decent drop, because you're level 30 at most.
Llama, so other than stash tabs there is only one other purpose for gold? How is that worth it if the drops are mostly junk?
The drops aren't mostly junk
I could tell you about Exalted and Legendary Potential, but again, you have no context
Because you're level 30 max
Lightless Arbor is a gold sink that actually values your gold. You get massive pools of loot out of it that you get to tailor.
right, so exalted and legendary gear is for end game correct?
You use your loot filter to not have to see the shit & anything that you do see can be crafted on to make it better.
a mix of rares, exalted, uniques & legendary
Yes. If you're expecting exciting ground loot to drop during the campaign, that doesn't happen in Last Epoch
Also, the zone reset thing is a known issue which will be "fixed" when MP is released.
except that the loot filter doesnt seem to work. I have set mine to not show common drops, they are still there. I have tried setting it up multiple different ways, gear still shows. Thats another issue, but a separate one.
I'm not sure where are any aRPGs where you'd get a lvl 12-30 item that's still useable for a long time.
Hobestly the only game I think this sort of fits into is D2 and D3, I've not played another ARPG where you get much worthwhile just playing the story
Have you considered that you haven't set it up correctly
As it most definitely does work
Odds are you've got a higher up rule that shows one of the affixes on that item
Yeah the filter works like a charm, this sounds like user error
The loot filter works from the top down & as soon as an item matches a rule that rule is applied & the filter "stops" checking for applicable rules
The only bug I know of with the filter is the occasional blank label
Yeah, that's the emphasise rule being a bit wonky
Llama have you played any of the Diablo games or Grim Dawn, Titan quest and about 10 others I can name. It happens frequently in arpgs, it does eventually get replaced, but there are games where you can make and plan a build around an item that drops at the 1/3rd-1/2 level cap.
Yup, played D1/2/3, TQ/GD since they were released, I've never had a low level item drop that I'd use for any period of time.
Specific uniques, perhaps.
Nice save, yes specific uniques that drop around a certain level was my point
especially set pieces if the game has the,
That exists in LE too
them
For low level uniques in LE that have purpose later... Meh, there's a handful but most you want to make into a legendary anyway
Sets are in a bad place ATM after legendaries were introduced
There are a few low level uniques that you'd use in high level builds in LE, just not many.
Most build defining uniques are endgame drops though. Load up lastepochtools and look around if you want.
I mean forget LE tools, just play the game past level 30, rather than arguing with a bunch of people that have thousands of hours that the game is flawed
That's also true lmao
Hazelroot (lvl 23), Humming Bee (lvl 6), Reach of the Grave (lvl 5), Dreamthorn (lvl 15), Draalsting (lvl 29), a few rings & amulets, Vipertail/Thornslinger belts, Morningfrost (lvl 8)
But yes, it's not as bad as you're feeling at the moment.
Taste of Blood should be there too imo, it's fun
I am not arguing with you, just pointing out things I see as flaws, that isnt arguing. I am relaying my experience with what seems like a broken mechanic in the game. If the game is determined to be based around that kind of system and its not a design flaw, then what is my motivation for continuing to play past 30, especially if the "really good gear" doesnt drop till end game or when my toon has practically reached the level cap?
It seems like a broken mechanic, because you have barely played
And no, you don't need to be level 100, to get good gear
I don't have any character over 93 and I farm for good gear still. I have like 9 tabs of exalted items, 4 tabs of non-LP uniques, and 3 of LP uniques, we aren't going to talk about how many idols I pick up because they seem interesting to use. Gearing and loot is fine.
I think you're seeing it as a flaw because you've not had the decent low level uniques drop, or ones for a build that you could use.
I can barely play several other games as well and feel like I am making much more head way or getting better drops to improve my gaming experience without having to drudge till I am practically at the end of the game. Just doesnt seem fun, whether its termed as broken or not.
If you are an "ARPG vet" and consider getting to endgame before itemization becomes interesting a flaw, then I have no idea what else to tell you
If you're having to drudge through the game then your leveling build is flawed and you are not using the crafting system which is key to early game
Loot certainly doesn't scale statistically as fast as, say D3.
Thank god for that
And you're not going to be doing billions/trillions of damage at endgame
drudge meaning, just rinseing and repeating the same enemies over and over without seeing any benefit of hoping something decent will come of it. So your idea of fun is constantly upgrading items yourself while endlessly grinding towards endgame, with barely any reward from drops. Just from crafting mechanics alone. I see that as a flaw, but you assume that I dont how to play, or that my logic is somehow skewed? arpg vet or no, thats a pretty crappy thing to insist. That I just dont know how games work, or what makes them fun... geez
"Endlessly grinding towards endgame"
...You mean playing the campaign once?
Your logic absolutely is skewed
No... I mean all you guys have talked about is wait till your end game/level 90+ etc, etc... A game shouldnt just only be fun at the end...
Again, the EARLY GAME relies on crafting. I get to monoliths at like level 45, I get to empowered by 75 at the latest on most characters, it's not slow, it isn't endlessly upgrading them myself, it's realizing that the first like 2 hours of gameplay aren't gonna give me huge drops
You misunderstand what the endgame is
Again, because you haven't played much
It's not something that takes a long time to reach
It's like level 55~, after the current campaign
So after the campaign is over, your farming for gear from monoliths etc for??? If the story is over at 55, but the good gear doesnt drop till after that???
This isn't D2 where the endgame is literally the same fuckin level and boss over and over
yes.... meaning you have completed the games story, so now just farm for stuff that means nothing because there is no more story to tell.... but my logic is skewed??? lol
Personally I start getting bored & thinking of alts when my current character hits the 70-90 range. I'm sorry you're not feeling like loot is interesting enough for you, crafting helps but more interesting loot (exalteds) drops from lvl 55+ & you can start making legendaries around that level (ish).
You're playing ARPGs for the story?
Dude, what game in this genre is ONLY STORY??
Now I am truly confused
Imagine playing PoE until Act 10 and then complaining because there is no more "story"
I didnt say only story... but you should feel like the game rewards you DURING the story, not after
Dude, D3's story is a pinnacle of writing & should have been put up for the Booker Prize cough
I genuinely think if you would put all of this effort into just playing, you might actually be able to enjoy yourself. But who knows
hence the part of the term arpg (ROLE PLAYING)
Even other genres that are still loot focused go past just being a story. Destiny, Borderlands, Division, Outriders, even fucking Vermintide all go past JUST THE CAMPAIGN
right, but loot drops happen pretty regularly in those games DURING the campaign
No, they do NOT
Fundamentally, that does not happen in LE
Like it or not
So accept that and play, or don't
You craft your gear in this game
I have played thousands of hours of Destiny and meaningful loot comes from endgame activities
ummm... yes they do. So you are telling me that good drops dont happen in borderlands until after the campaign is finished
I have played hundreds of Borderlands and that comes from farming specific bosses and then RAIDS
you must be playing a different borderlands than me then
If you drop a legendary at low level, it sucks later.
BL3 is an outlier because it has shit balancing
right, but legendaries continue to drop and get progressively better with character level and progression do they not?
Only in BL & D3, not in D1/2, TQ or GD
Llama8, dude no.... I have played Grim dawn since it was kickstarter. I have 5k+ hours in over 300 toons. you are most definitely mistaken on that one
Aetherlock ignores anything that doesn't support his narrative 😂
its not a narrative, its just an opinion... one which you guys clearly dont share. Thats fine, I just think your incorrect and that its a flaw which hinders the fun of the game, not an attribute that enhances it.
I'm just saying man, there are good uniques that aren't exclusively endgame, just because they didn't drop super early for you and low level rares don't scale into endgame doesn't mean that the game is flawed
I am literally using this on a level 90 toon right now
If your "opinion" is that LE doesn't have useful low/mid level unique drops - it's not an opinion, and you are wrong
Pray tell, what level did you get that drop there Deias?
15
I have gotten DOZENS of Tastes of Blood
My first one showed up on my first character
I got lucky
right, and what is the drop chance of that rare in the game in that level range?
It isn't a rare, and it's literally a common drop
I get like 4 Tastes to drop every time I level a character, and I ignore them because I don't need them anymore
unique, you understood what I meant, so now we are going to argue semantics
He said it's common, my guy
I wish I could filter out half of the uniques I get at this point
IMO, the "better versions of low level uniques (eg, Guardsman's Helm lvl 15, Empowered Guardsman's Helm lvl 65) are different items. You can't mix & match them for the complete set. The higher level versions have additional stats, etc. You're free to disagree, just like I'm free to disagree that "no meaningful loot drops at low lvl" in LE...
I also played GD since kickstarter.
So you have got dozens of them to drop, 4 at least per character. I havent seen a single one of them, so explain how the drop rate isnt a flaw again? That literally was the crux of my argument. That the drop rates are not set correctly... so back around to my original statement again
It's just hilarious, when someone that hasn't made it past level 30, is arguing the game is fundamentally flawed
So you are saying that I have just been incredibly unlucky in this game, which has literally never happened in any other game I have ever played.... right
There's some people who get multiple Bastions to drop, then there's others who have never gotten any in several hundred hours, RNG is RANDOM
Have you two tried getting lucky?

Still looking for my Bastion

I'm married, I'm never lucky.....
oof
I mean, she was totally above my paygrade when we started going out.
And still is, for the record
yes I understand how rng WORKS, do you. loot drops should be set to proc a certain item out of a list which is randomly generated. The level or rarity of that item should be set based on the character level, the enemy level and the rarity of the enemy.... so elites, bosses etc... should drop higher level loot. That isnt happening in this game, hence the statement... flawed.... I dont have to play thousands of hours to recognize that something is off with the loot tables when I havent gotten a single decent drop from an elite or a boss by now
The loot tables aren't off, you're UNLUCKY
"Something is off with the loot tables" 🤣
I'm not gonna go into PoE and go "GRRRRRR PEOPLE HAVE MAGEBLOODS ON DAY 1 AND I DON'T"
I'll just refer back to Mr Aetherlock unironically arguing that level 30 isn't low, rather than engaging in this again
There also aren't any loot tables (for mobs that aren't the mono bosses)
what is the level cap of this game at campaign end knocks?
So any mob can drop any lvl appropriate mob
It takes an hour to reach level 30, you just have no idea what you're on about
someone said earlier it was 55... so is it 100 or is it 55
Level cap is 100 dude
I said endgame starts around 55
Who tf said it was 55?
at campaign end?
but without adding anything extra right, other than farming
Borderlands you usually aren't max by the end of the campaign, BL2 literally goes up to 80 with all the DLC
Yeah sure, nothing extra
Definitely nothing extra, not 3 dungeons and 2 different kinds of arena
single player enthusiasts dont play arenas, so that means nothing for me. Dungeons, that add story or lore or relevance for playing them somehow?
Yes, they do
"single player enthusiasts dont play arenas"
And arena isn't PvP
So many good quotes from this guy
Arena is either endless wave PvE OR limited wave PvE ending in a boss with exclusive uniques
I really think you are wasting your energy at this point @native sail
Considering they're pretty fuckin good, they do matter, if you BUILD FOR THEM
build for them to accomplish what exactly?
"ARPG vet" doesn't understand that the game goes on after campaign
What do you build a Hammerdin to do? Or a Frorb Sorc?
To play the game and clear content well.
We've found the rarest specimen: someone that only plays ARPG for the storyline
the game that you have already finished the campaign for?
Aight fuck this, I'm out
Have fun guys, I've got "work" to do....
Or I'm going through a tunnel or something
If you wanted a game to play just the story, go play Tomb Raider or some shit, that's all I gotta say
so your ultimate goal is to just keep upgrading the character to do arena and endlessly grind waves to an end boss, for the chance to, upgrade your character to do arena......
There is 0% chance you are an ARPG player
No dude, I'm a vet, I play Diablo 2, but only one time per character and only on normal.
🤣
never said ne time per character, or only on normal. Notice my previous post where I said I have over 300 char's from grim dawn and 5k+ hours
You can stop now bro 🤡
but I am not endlessly grinding crucible just for the fun of it
so because I play a different way and expect something different from a game than you I am a clown?
No
get bent
The past hour of your insane comments, have made you a clown
I havent said anything insane, I just dont play the asme way as you or several other people on here and have different goals when it comes to gaming
so I am not a clown, I am insane?
That is generally accepted as the gameplay loop for the aRPG genre, yes. Though you can also swap "arena" for "normal/empowered monoliths". Though in monos you do get loot from the mobs, and the chest at the end.
right, but to what end. You have finished the campaign and there is nothing more to do but grind for more gear to upgrade your character according to you guys. Whats the point of that, what does it give you ultimately?
Out of genuine curiosity & not trying to be a dick (for once). For those 300 characters in GD, at what average level would you say you stopped playing them to move on to an alt? For how long did you continue to use lvl 10-30 gear?
Honestly, the same thing it does in every single other aRPG, a stronger character that you can then use to do harder non-campaign content. That is the fundamental gameplay loop for the genre.
TQ/GD/D1/D2 are a bit different because they take a "new game plus" style of difficulty where you finish the campaign on normal, then run it again on difficulty 2 then again on difficulty 3. LE doesn't do that. In LE, you run the campaign to lvl 55-58 ish then move on to monoliths (LE's equivalent of rifts/grifts/maps).
Level 100 was the cap at the time for most of my playtime with them. I did farm a few areas over near end game to complete sets or get upgrades I was missing to finish the game completely with each character. Each character has its own play style and damage types. It was much easier to do with grim dawn since there are tons of ways to multiclass. Add in specific mods which added more classes an voila, even more individual completely different characters and play styles. There are several dozen characters I have that utilize mid level items in the builds which enhance damage, speed, or resistances
I dont even have a character for every multiclas combination using the mods, that would be nigh impossible since it calculates out to thousand upon thousands of build possibilites. Some of which didnt really have good synergy so there wasnt really a good reason to pursue them
Same in this game if you get past lvl 30
I understand replaying the campaign on a harder difficulty with the same character. Even a maxed level one, but then you are doing something productive at least in my opinion, there is an ultimate goal... to finish the game under the hardest difficulty with the best build possible. I see no point to continue using that character to just do wave/boss/loot fights after that is done. If that is a mechanic that is missing from this game, then this game is probably not for me.
There are several dozen characters I have that utilize mid level itemsYeah, and you can do that with some uniques in LE, but fewer of them likely due to LE still being in beta & GD having been released for 6 years with 3 expansions. IMO it's not reasonable to compare the two in that regard, but there are certainly some low level (sub 30ish) that you can use in high level builds. You've just not found them yet.
But I assume that you didn't find the mid-lvl uniques in GD shortly after you hit the relevant level.
even when GD was in beta it had decent loot drops and chances of finding rare/legendary/set items when defeating bosses or elites, or even mobs of elites.
And you can find them in LE, even at low level
There are people who put in chat that they found a low level unique on their first character at a very low level
this game doesnt, thats why I think its flawed in that sense... if good drops only come battling "monolith" bosses and extremely rare drop chance from a normal encounter.. that is what seems broken.
But it does.
at what %, from what enemies... not elites, or bosses... at least not that I have seen... seems like it def doesnt
exalted items aren't the only "good drops", as I said much earlier, there are a number of low level uniques that are still viable in end-game builds, even more so if you're able to make them into legendaries.
Any mob can drop any lvl-appropriate unique or item (excluding the boss-specific uniques)
ok, so how many times would I have to farm a boss, say pannion, before the chance of a unique/set item drops?
why wouldnt the % chance be higher to drop better gear from a boss than just from a common mob enemy....
It should be, but probably not commensurate with the increased time to kill for a lvl-appropriate (ish) character.
Also, we don't know the drop rates entirely. Unique drop chances are a bit different in LE....
Every time a unique shield drops I die a bit more inside
so you dont know the drop rates, cant really explain why it wouldnt be happening for me on any character I have played (regardless of the level they are... yeesh), and think its time wasted in comparison to just moving on and killing normal enemy mobs to try and farm that way because its more productive somehow? Yet everyone thinks I am crazy, because I see an issue there? I just dont understand it. Why the hostility, why the name calling? Its just a simple question, which doesnt really have a satisfactory answer as far as I have seen
not that you were doing the name calling... wasnt pointing that directly at you, sorry
Bosses drop special items
they have their own tied uniques that you can only get from them
if you want powerful LP versions of them, you will be farming them for a while
Dread they arne't in monos, they mean campaign bosses
which ones? I didnt see pannion drop anything unique to him
campaign bosses don't do anything 😄
Yeah that doesnt really matter in the grand scheme of things. They are just roadblocks
Dread trust me, don't bother. They think the game ends when the campaign ends.
I mean to be fair I just got done with D2 so that was the case
does this game have multiple difficulty settings where once the game is complete you can play at a harder level?
So the endgame in Last Epoch takes a lot more from PoE, where its more endgame focused.
D2 is a 20+ year old game with an entirely different design philosophy than most modern ARPGs
No, it has infinite difficulty scaling at endgame
you do the campaign once, as more of a tutorial for new players
GD doesnt have that issue and certainly isnt 20+ years old
I mean GD has plenty of other issues, that I will not mention here
but yeah all the goodies are endgame focused
but you start monoliths at like level 40
really early
so it realistically doesn't matter
so basically this game is geared to wave/boss players is what I keep hearing. The campaign is there to get you started, but it really isnt necessary other than to teach you the mechanics... is that what your saying
Eh
not entirely
the endgame of LE so far is great
getting there is a bore though
Ive leveled hundreds of characters and it does get boring
but as soon as you get to empowered monoliths the game is on
then explain it in detail please, because thats what the general consensus sounds like... "oh, dont worry about the campaign, it really doesnt matter anyway, the fun is at the end grinding waves and end bosses endlessly"... thats what keeps getting posted
We don't know the specific drop rates for mobs/bosses, but we do know the drop logic (how the game rolls for uniques). Sometimes you just get ####ed over by RNG, it happens. I've still not been given a mirror by PoE, but I'm not going to say it's a problem with the game.
I mean empowered monoliths drop more stuff in general. Thats the place to be. Its really that simple
so I just have been ####ed over on 6 different characters... and that sounds fair?
🤷 maybe. I do just fine.
and empowered monoliths are in the campaign?
You're probably going to get different answers to that question from different people. IMO, kinda yes.
exactly... so
I feel like as though there is a gigantic disconnect here.
LE endgame works exactly how PoE endgame works, the game it was modeled after
The campaign serves to level your character and prepare it for the endgame, which is like 99% of the game
and I am a clown and insane because that type of gameplay makes no sense to me, and isnt my experience with other games at all, including modern arpg's or classic ones. But, somehow something is wrong with ME because I think that way.
No its just you bought a banana expecting an apple
Games are allowed to be different, especially their endgame grinds.
TL:DR LE endgame is, get to empowered monos, grind blessings, grind the LP stuff you want, grind the exalteds you want, push arena, and push corruption. The game is in beta still, and missing like half the endgame it will have on launch. It comes from the Path of Exile style endgame, where the campaign just simply prepares you for the endgame by leveling you up.
never said they werent, but why advertise this game as single player with campaign as a game basis and then thats not really what it is? Thats literally the premise of what was sold to me when I started watching it from pre-beta, then all till now after purchase. I dont want a ladder game, or arena game. Thats literally the reason I stopped playing POE, dont play D3 anymore, except through campaign mode, or any other number of games that are modern ARPG games. If it has that feature for players, thats fine, more power... but if thats really ALL it is, then its just not for me. Maybe if the Dev's add more campaign content with DLC's in the future or more difficulty levels it might be worth it. As it sits though, its just a grinding game where the only satisfaction is after the campaign part is over... thats not what most solo arpg players want, multiplayer players yes, solo players no.
legendaries don't drop until lvl 50 mobs in Grim Dawn.
Right, but the campaign goes to approx what level CaiusMartius? Then there are difficulty replays beyond that, without ever touching crucuble or wave grinding
Also check your loot filter. If you've been trying it you might inadvertently be hiding things.
I turned the filter off. I tried to filter out commons (whites) it didnt work for some reason and was still showing them, so I nixed it. It has no filter currently. So I am seeing everything, there just isnt much to see.
yeah
that is on purpose
the good stuff is held behind generally more difficult content
yes, and you would think that would be bosses and elites... sadly that is not the case. At least not in the campaign.
thats my point
not the early game ones no
the ones in endgame yeah for sure
I mean thats kind of the point here
if you want good blessings, you have to kill empowered bosses. You want their higher level uniques? You have to kill empowered bosses. You want the best drops from Dungeon? You have to do T4 dungeon.
the campaign isn't there to just shove free stuff in your face.
right, thats what I understand now. That this game was not built with single player solo play through the campaign in mind. Its a wave/boss grinding game. Which is not what I was made to believe when I bought it.
I mean...I play solo all the time
and do just fine
so its just a you problem, at this point
everything that is in the game is grindable
so do i
and achievable
And even with MP I generally won't engage unless I'm with friends if they ever get convinced to play
Even in PoE I'm solo outside of trading
I mean to be fair, if we were to look. Now that I have finally played D2, I have the experience to talk about this. Isn't Mephisto grinding just resetting a zone constantly and seeing what he drops? Thats exactly Last Epoch, but instead of the campaign, you do it in monoliths. Theres not really much difference, except where it is located
Its not that its not fun at times, but it is frustrating because of the exact way it was built apparently for that reason.... missing what I meant. I meant solo through campaign, and have a decently geared character at the end, which was fun to GET to, not that the fun is there afterwards doing arena and wave after wave. There isnt any real progression there as the story is already over. At that point its just keep farming to level up , to keep farming, to level up, to keep farming... with no reasoning behind it other than just to do it. That isnt fun to me. It just isnt.
@somber sonnet How is grinding campaign different than maps/rifts/monoliths?
The reason I dislike D2's version is because I get extremely bored since it is effectively identical every single time. LE and PoE give me variance while playing.
I was doing Countess runs recently. Its exactly the same as rushing unique drop echoes, just different coat of paint
@somber sonnet monolith in LE is technically part of a campaign as well 😄
The story is over, there is no further difficulty to experience through the campaign.
I mean the difficulty comes from the Monolith system
which gets plenty difficult
especially if you push corruption
yeah there is. Start crafting. Low lvl stuff is cheap and it teaches you the crafting system so when it REALLY needs to count you aren't blowing thru stuff inadvertently.
Me when I stack for far too many critical mods on enemies and I'm missing 1% crit avoid

I feel like as though there is a gigantic disconnect here though. I know GD is great, but like isn't it the same concept? Kill monsters, get loot? It doesn't matter if its in the campaign or not.
I think the problem is, LE doesn't just give you the good stuff right out the get go, you have to go and work towards it.
its moot at this point, its just a different type of game than other arpgs, with maybe the exception of POE. Its just not my style I guess. Nothing wrong with other people liking this style, it just isnt for me, at least not as it currently stands. If it gains more content in the future through DLC add ons to the campaign and higher difficulties replaying the campaign I may come back. As it sits. it just isnt fun.
@somber sonnet its exactly the same as any other arpg. In the old days there was just campaign that you do over and over and over and over... and now days there is a bit more randomness to the end game
I see the fun of the game as the excitement of that tough boss you just killed, or mob of elites that dropped a legendary/unique/set item that helps you finish the rest of the STORY, not just to be something pretty to show off that you found after the story is already over. Just not my cup of tea
which games had campaigns that you did over and over and over that didnt give you decent drops till after the campaign/story had ended? If you mean difficulties, yes, thats a different matter entirely, your still striving towards finishing the campaign/story... not just endlessly grinding waves...
no, you finish the campaign once and then just reapet it to get the best gear for your build / getting the max level or whatever
You are looking for a story driven RPG, not this genre
I think you are more after soul like type of games rather than hack and slashes
or just pure rpg
nope, hack and slash is definitely the genre I want. Diablo Series, TQ/GD, Sacred.... etc... etc... etc.... souls like games are literally just boss fights correct? Definitely not what I am looking for. I have been playing games since pong, pretty sure I know what genre I want.
define pure rpg
So diablo 2 -> campaign over and over
TQ -> campaign over and over
GD -> campaign over and over plus arena with DLC
Sacred campaign over and over
All the newer games dont just repeat the campaign over and over but add randomness and another level of complexity over a campaign
I dont get what is your problem? That there is something more after the campaign?
Pure RPG are games where RPG (story) is their main selling point, e.g. stuff like Fallout series
no, the original statement was that loot drops dont scale with enemies like in the other games you just mentioned
at least not till after the campaign... unlike the other games you just mentioned
fallout is not really a hack and slash its a loot based FPS
what do you mean by loot drops not scaling with enemies?
I have literally repeated this multiple times... do campaign bosses drop set/unique/legendary items after kill? during the campaign?
regularly like in all the other games you mentioned?
yes they do lol
I beg to differ... how many times would I have to kill say "pannion" before one of those items drops?
exactly
idk, dude, those items are meant to be rare, right? I have finished campaign yesterday at around level 60 and got less than 10 of those items
is this game easy to lern as noob?
and I have killed that boss more than a dozen times with 6 different characters and never had any one of those items drop. Ever....
yeah
If you read and actually learn, yes
because your supposed to move on
to better things
idk that got emotional for a second
the monolith is still part of the campaign it seems if it makes you feel better
which goes back to my original statement, loot drop rates are flawed/broken, whatever you want to call it. Boss drops should scale... elite drops should scale... they dont
need multiplayer then i buy the game
Should be this year according to devs, keep an eye on the news channel later
last time I looked, they were fine
fine how? define fine?
They are fine. He said earlier he considers lvl 30 high level. Dude hasn't played 1/4 of the game and thinks he know how it plays.
@somber sonnet why? can't you beat the boss/story without them?
again, what level does the campaign end? 55 was the consensus..... so level 30 would be more than half way to that level without a single drop from a boss or elite? but thats fine???
its not a matter of whether you can.... thats not how it works
if you want to play only the story play the story and move on
Beat a T4 dungeon boss then give your opinion. You literally haven't played enough to even know if you got a good drop or not lol
Idk
hes gotta go do like 3 million more elder pannions before he drops a Falcon
Idk if he will ever get there
What do you mean I'm not supposed to be farming the level 9 boss?
Time to farm the trio for the heralded Glyph of Chaos
Brb gonna go farm the original void centipede
Also, levels aren't linear. So no, 30 is definitely less than halfway to 55
i know drop rates for bosses/elites should not be contingent on playing after campaign time. You are saying play the campaign and then move on, and then never seeing a good drop for 99% of the game... yeah that sounds fun. Should be a blast.
hey thats my own farming spot, get your own!
No dude, you're playing like 5% of the game and complaining that you aren't getting drops from it
^
let me farm Haruspax Orian for the rare drop from him...a rare item
Have any of you guys seen a rare drop from Haruspax? I have never in my time leveling characters
What's the big void worm? I wanna farm that
at what level did a unique/set/rare item drop in the other games mentioned? especially if it was after a boss/elite kill? Did you have to be above level 55 before it happened? I seriously doubt it?
They can drop anywhere
This conversation has been going round in a circle for the past 2 & 1/2 hours. He just wants to play/farm the campaign & wants bosses/champions (in the campaign) to have much higher chances to drop uniques/etc.
That's Diablo 2
It's not a problem that it isn't the game, but they won't accept it
They're insisting it's a flaw that the things used to level a character don't give aspirational drops
But that means I farmed Elder Pannion for 6 hours for no reason. The people on Discord are wrong, not me.
Welp gonna go review bomb the game because I can't get Bastion of Honor from clearing the very first area
No way is this still going 🤣
bastion of honor with LP*
Since this has gone on for sometime now, I'd just recommend you file this in the #368968647114227723 thread and we can all move on.
True true, and if it isn't 4LP I got robbed
I'm just having fun at this point. Chilling trying to figure out how to best use $10 on PoE cuz I need character slots again but I also want to buy another aura effect
Imagine playing PoE when farming Brutus for 3 hours doesn't even drop you a Mageblood
Can different types of weapons be used in the eternity cache?
A 2 hand sword with a 2 hand axe?
No, they must be the same base type
Thank you.
Not exact same base to be clear, but 2h axe with 2h axe and such
"not exact same base" meaning the different types of a weapon, inside a weapon class?
Yeah
Gotcha
So you can slap like Apathy's Maw in with a Jade Cleaver and it'll work, but a Chitin Claw won't work for it
I pretend to remember those specific weapons and understand that example. :P
