I went the Temporal Sanctum route and finished the game early. I am working my way back now and am stuck on VIII - Liath and Thetima. It says to speak to Yulia in Thetima, which I have done and selected the gold arrows to progress, but the quest is bugged and not updating. Does anyone know of any workarounds please?

Need some theorycrafting help.
So the basic concept is this,
1: I go warlock for fissure and take the node to summon volatile zombies.
2: in zombies im taking nodes to summon vanguard and 100% Sacrifice chance
3: for Sacrifice i get 100% chance to summon blood spectres
4: skeletal mages explode blood spectres.
With 3 open fisures, potion and manual casting of zombies should be a lot of explosions sacrifice should mainly prioritize vanguards for consumption and those come from every zombie.
For a 5th Ability I'm torn.
I could go profane vale for more zombies and defense/clense,
i could go marrow shards and have zombies cast it free on death, that would regenerate health and mana rapidly.
I could go infernal shades as fissure and Sacrifice interact with it a zombies cast it
I could also go hungering soul and turn mages into death knights, but I'm worried they would get Sacrificed much more often in melee. But that would be a good casted nuke too.
Also unsure what to focus on for scaling. Damned and ignite to witchfire maybe? Straight int? Minion or genaric spell damage? Any advice would be appreciated.

You might be able to ask in #👥┃lfg for a teleport to Lagon's Isle. The team are aware of this and looking into it - it would be helpful to submit an in game bug report before getting a teleport if you don't mind, just make sure to select 'Unable to Progress' before sending that in!

😅 too bad, I find it taking away from exploring the map, I tend to mostly focus on the map to follow the path/the objectives and barely explore the actual area/look at the gameplay

Hmm, strange. It might be worth retracing your steps on foot from 'Speak to Architect Liath' so don't use the map (M) to travel, walk on foot to a waypoint and click it. If that fails, then an In Game Bug Report and getting a lift in #👥┃lfg is your best bet to keep progressing
But as you can see from the other screenshots, the dialogue is already treating it like it's later in the story.

Could be a hiccup given the quest tracking tomfoolery happening. Retracing steps has helped in other quests that have gotten stuck, though not all
Anybody got up to date Lootfilter? I am using the ''all around'' for all classes from epochtools and am very unhappy with it.
Honestly, make your own. Most good lootfilters are build-specific.

Yup, and if you stack more gazes, it'll get lower per gaze.
If I am not mistaken, farm 3x 800 stability, go to end node and enjoy.

I found that for 5 characters I started in SSF, wanting to make a unique build, I was unable to make those builds work in lower levels, it's only at levels 60+ when I was getting the affixes I needed.
I found that so frustrating in trying to make unique builds that relied on specific affixes.
So much so that I'd drop my unique idea and just build a dumbed down brute damage build which was definitely stifling trying to innovate.
To be fair, most builds only come “online” at lv 50 or higher
do you guys think that is a problem or that making unique build work in lower level would only be viable on alts when you already have a pile of affixes?

especially for people just starting out,
playing this game over D3/D4/POE, gave me the hope that I'd be able to jump in and build something unique from the get go, and I think that many new players would get that feeling of wanting to 'explore' the multitude of passive nodes and how they can be combined with affixes and itemization - only to be shut down by the absolute inability to make the build work. only after amassing a stock of affixes would they actually be able to make that unique idea they had when first launching the game, but by then, I feel like, most would already stop playing.
I think that introducing a low level soft target farm system would go a long way in capturing mainstream players and maintaining a higher player count

Yo guys i've been having a ton of fun playing the Last Epoch launch and i've had a lot of success pushing with this build. It is an Acolyte with the Lich Subclass to take advantage of Reaper Form and all the insane stats it gives. This build works due to a very important experimental modifier on a rare belt, so isn't suited to your first charact...
when I first started playing I was very much delighted with the multitude of nodes etc. but then, trying to build something and just not getting the affixes for 70+ levels made me switch builds and play something I didn't want to, as well as dropping my affix economy and gold because of crafting from cratch to fit a new build

there are many different sources of ward/sec though on base items and passives. Also I don't see how the effect would be build enabling unless you could scale damage off it, or it interacted in other ways to help defense/utility.
I was beckoned to try that because some passive skill nodes had cool interactions with ward.
I remember now the lich has like a 3 or 5x damage buff on low life, I found a drain life get ward legendary early and needed ward per second to not die

Exsang also gives you more ward the more missing health you have, so more max health= more ward per sec
I understood that from a mastery design standpoint, and I wanted to try that without death seal

sadly that's where most of the damage is, so it will be hard, but in either case there are better sources of ward then ward/sec affixes. Most people don't use thouse affixes for a reason, even when they make heavy use of ward

I'm rather confident that no build relies on affixes (from crafting shards) to fundamentally work at all. They all just increase DPS or defenses but in no way are directly required for a build to function mechaniclly.

my point is a game that in its core is about the build you're making, and making it stand out, be your own, unique. that feeling of intrigue, exploration, new grounds etc.

Affixes aren’t the building blocks, that’s the thing.
It’s the mastery choice, skill choice and unique choice.
That's kind of the point though, if you had a game where you could get your build running at full effectiveness quickly, then interest would fall off, need aspirational content in order for people to stay engaged. This is a looter game, that's closer to the boarder lands games then it is to Dark souls, some items have to be rare in order for the "finding loot" to feel impactful at all
It might be a mindset issue, since at least for me, the feeling of “mess around and find out” was only dead after I explored a lot of builds.

I still fail to see how having a particular rare affix would make or break your build, it might slow progression, but fundamentally brick wall your build seems highly unlikely, unless there is a very specific mechanic for ward/sec that I'm missing

The issue with the way you’re thinking is that the unique ideas are in UNIQUES, and not affixes
If everything worked fine, then your choices wouldn't matter too much. Gotta have the lows to have highs and whatnot.

It's the conflict of build efficiency and illusion of choice. This game might not be complex enough to satisify your build crafting itch. A game like Path of Exile has far more complexity and should provide a ripe place to theory craft if you have not already.

Using lich as an example (again), lich has a lot of path to offense.
Lich only has one truly locked off defense route which is ward.
All of lich’s offense paths can be done with only common affixes.

Yeah, there's thematic stuff to each mastery which is part of what makes each one different
having a few good nodes scattered around is a far cry from cookie cutter builds (like in games like D3 and to an extent D4)
and I found that those inbuilt and most plain-to-see synergies were by far the strongest and easiest to build
because of lack of affixes, in my case

Really busy, moved from Scotland back to France. Took care of my son for 4 months and just got a new job.
I managed to play a bit. My latest wonky build is around Fissure inside Smite.
I started with Multistrike but that skill is awful. And I just theory crafted a new setup that should give me about 30-40% More Dmg and more Tankiness
I will try it tomorrow when the kid is at the 'nursery

In the item db https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/ you can click on prefixes https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/prefixes and then use the filter box. Or you can just use the search box, but it'll show you everything with void pen

I don't believe so. The required level is tied in some manner to the area level, so you don't see the required level 75 items dropping in an area level 50. But once you're in the end game stuff, everything can drop. Outside of the restricted items, such as boss only drops.
You can't really target farm a certain type of Exalted item by going to X area. Although you can get certain dungeon modifiers and Circle of Fortune Prophecies.

I have no controller binding for it. The point I'm trying to make is there is a bug where your loot filter stops working just like you hit alt-z but you actually didn't.

Forge Guard is in a pretty bad state, and for a minion build, even worse than necromancer.
Verifying your Steam files and lower some settings. We recommend loweting Grass, Shadows and Volumetric Lighting to start. Streamer mode can also help! 🙂
What streamer mode does?
Automatically adjusts a few settings and caps fps (I think) so that Streamers aren't struggling with all the processing power needed to both run the game and stream at the same time off a single system

They've previously stated they're aware of the inflation and while they didn't want to make changes for it mid cycle in 1.0, they would try to address it in the future

hi, I recently finished my first campaign and monolith playthrough, reading up on how the monolith works made it sound like after completing all of the monoliths for the first time I would get prompted to empower a monolith the next time I started it. This is not happening. I'm not sure how to empower the monoliths.

Far as I can tell it's a very long standing bug where the first item to drop that is capitalized according to your filter will have a missing or goofy looking name. Pick it up and drop it to see how the fixed ground label should look. Also rest of the session will be fine but after restart it will happen again. At least this is my observation.

How are people getting experimental affixes on unique items?
You can combine an Exalted item and a Unique item using the mechanic at the end of the Temporal Sanctum dungeon. The exalted item must have 4 mods on it, and one of them can be an Experimental Affix
This mechanic will destroy the Exalted item, but randomly transfer an amount of affixes to the Unique equal to the Legendary Potential the Unique has (0-4)
This can transfer the Experimental Affix onto the Unique item
I guess I've only seen experimental affixes on experimental gear which cant be used in that system
The experimental gear you've been seeing can drop as exalted items, as long as one of the mods rolled are T6 or higher

It gets better if you're not playing at a very high corruption yet. Eventually you'll drop the Rune of Research very frequently, and the Experimental mods will often be T4-6, so that will help a lot getting the Glyphs of Insight, I'd say about 25-30% chance on average if you play at 300+ corruption

has anyone else had issues where you complete a prophecy but the item doesnt drop? i think if you die to a boss and you try to do it again youll complete it but it wont drop
One thing that comes to mind is having a DoT kill Julra while I am in the wrong time period. I noticed that I won't see prophecy progression credit in that case.

Hey trying to fight Lagon but getting destroyed im playing a Warlock. Looking for any advice or anything
it's quite hard to give advice for Lagon because it's mostly a "don't get hit" fight where you have to learn the moves and dodge them. Are there particular skills that he's doing that are killing you?
also how are your cold and lightning resistances?
I learned to avoid the moon attack thing he does but then phase 2 its impossible to avoid everything and i get destroyed

I completely forgot about the whole resistance capped at 75. Some abilities do more damage depending on my resistance. Is the damage increase capped at 75% too?
res will definitely help, practice as well. Not much more to do than that unfortunately. I guess a teleport skill if you have access to one and aren't currently using it
things that give bonuses based on res are all using "uncapped" res, meaning they ignore the 75% cap. Pretty common for warlocks to get 500%+ necrotic res in the endgame

Is it profitable to play offline, cuz I don't see any reason to grind past ~ 400 + corruption with bazaar comforts and pray to rng to get teh roll I would like. I mean I will totally try it, just asking if somebody has done that and can gimme a pointer into the right direction?
What do you mean profitable?
I mean if it does take time to ''milk'' the game for core items or does it play smooth till End of Time? Profitable as I said maybe the wrong word, I ment rewarding.
You can do all content with no issues. You may just need to be a bit pickier about which build to play, if you don't have required items for a build it's not wise to start it unless they are easily farmable. Some people prefer it this way, just personal preference.

Hey guys, I've spent last week or so making my own build that is focused on being a reliable fresh start and not being very gear dependant. With that being the focus I've been running the build on SCF/SAF and it's working but I've hit a brick wall and have died 3 times in a row all at the same place of lvl 75 mono lagon. Im not the best player but I know how his mechanics work and when it comes down to it, I'm not getting gear upgrades with affix that I need. Is there some efficient method for gearing at this stage? Someone's mentioned skipping lagon till after dragon timeline, but I wonder if soulfire after lvl 66 timeline would be a good option? Looking for most effective and reliable way to not loose speed of progression
With the soulfire idea the biggest issue that comes to mind is rng of key drops

- the cap is applied, bringing your effective res to 75%

Yes. This is how the game is balanced. Enemy pen also caps at 75...so even in a lvl 100 area...they only have 75pen...which cancels the 75 res. Game is balanced around 0

like if your res is 80% and enemy shred 5% you still have 75%

Very few things have shred in the game mob wise. Like, 4 mobs or something
And then mark of the dead too...but thats only in 3 timelines and is also fairly rare and easily avoided if wanted
It's a modifier that can show up on magic/rare enemies, but you can ignore this bit. Marked for Death, shock, and poison are fairly common though and can reduce your resists. All of them can be cleansed by stuff that cleanses ailments.

Hey guys I have a question. So this node inside Chaos Bolts says that there is a chance to proc "Harvest". My question is, if I specialize the Harvest skill and level it up, will all of these upgrades to the Harvest skill tree be applied when Chaos Bolts procs it?
Yeah, if you can specialize into a skill, it always uses your spec when you cast it

So I just hit empowered monoliths as a runemaster, and I'm getting oneshot constantly. Most monsters hit me for almost no dmg, but I die on almost every monolith from some random ohko. Does anyone have any tips on defenses for me to target/work on? I'm currently at capped resists, 100% crit avoid, 27% armor reduction, 1.1k health, and 400% ward retention (I'm typically at 2-3k ward during combat). I also have permanent -30% dmg from Reowyn's Frostguard.
I would definitely say try to pump your ward up. 3k as an RM is very low, medium investment should put you to like 7k at least. If not more.
What's the most effective way to increase it? Ward retention, ward decay threshold, or other?
Ward retention and then better generation of it. I'm not sure what method you're using, but Twisted Heart for example is usually very good at it on RM
Threshold is okay but I would not prioritize it/be worried about making gear choices around it

Yeah, definitely try to get that ASAP, it's probably the most efficient ward gen for a RM that isn't on a cooldown or channeling based skill

2-3k ward+1k hp with CFC and flame ward is more than enough to comfortably farm emp monos
maybe that one shot is from spitting spires? like poison, fire, etc,,yeah it will one shot u coz i thnk theres a stun dmg coupled to it
you can get core of the mountain body if u still dont have it for extra layer of immunity

I think most echoes only generate in specific timelines. I'm not sure which ones that appears in specifically.
If you ever want something really specific, trade is always the most reliable method. RNG always has a chance of just ruining your day/week/etc.
That icon just lets you know you unlocked a new skill, you could equip it and/or specialize it right away, or you could just close the window.

Yeah, if you know all the quest beats you need to hit you can teleport them through anything (mastery, faction, passives, and empowered, also).

So you have to do the quest? There is no other way to gain all the idols and passives on second character?
Yes, you need to do some quests. You don't need to do all of them, so if you're getting teleported by another player you can pick and choose the 8 quickest idol quests and 15 quickest passive point quests (I think there may also be some overlap in these?).

Umbral Blades spec tree does apply to the ones thrown by your falcon, technically they are indirectly cast by you rather than your falcon

Yeah, it'll work with that node in umbral that makes them apply SD if you're wielding a dagger since your spec tree always applies. The extra stack of SD from aerial assault won't apply to those, just to the ones procced by your falcon.

It actually keeps the difficulty the same but to be honest I don't really notice it. You can still be OP
Enemies strength are tied to area level, which is different per area and goes up. Most of the time, you'll underlevel the area level and you'll still be stronger.
The only 'adaptive DR' is on major bosses, which you won't notice all the time. If you burst the boss too fast it'll have some temporary DR for a short while.

I'm really struggling on early empowered monoliths, as in dying on about 80% of them. and recently redid my passives and it helped a lot but not enough to start clearing consistently. you can, but you can likely get better/more specialized help down in the class channels at the bottom of the list. people are a bit more experienced there, and dont always pop up to the gen chats up here

craft a better weapon. the likely hood of you just dropping an upgrade is very small. you might need to wait a bit to find a better base item...or get higher levels to be able to put more affixes on. but generally its just waiting for the next best base

never normals. almost never magics, unless the affixes are high level. its more dependant on the affixes, than the rarity of the item

Looks like you're bugged, it will go away if you relog.
That's a bug. Sometimes dungeon things (visuals, tooltips, that specific ability) get left over after you leave.

So if you add +10 flat spell damage to torment, it does (10 x damage effectiveness) extra damage total across whatever duration it is.

Idek what it does, i've been just fine
I do a ton of damage with this build I made plus I regen a ton of health so I pretty much never die
I do think knowing what ward is would be useful though

ward is like a second health bar, when you take damage you lose ward before losing health. There's no such thing as maximum ward, instead it just drains constantly, and the more ward you have the faster it drains. Ward retention makes it drain more slowly

in theory ward is an option to invest into, you can be fine on just health. In practice ward is currently very overpowered and most of the strongest builds use it. It's getting nerfed in 1.1 (we don't know the details yet)

hiya, there's a bug sometimes I think where the middle of the three islands here isn't activating to unlock empowered monoliths
as far as I know, a common fix is to start an echo again and try again

Within the same game mode, yes. For example, all characters in Online Cycle share a stash - as long as you don't turn on a challenge mode like Solo Character Found or Hardcore. And all characters in Online Legacy share a stash, etc.

Two options:
Rune of Removal, and pray to RNG, the unsafe method.
Glyph of Chaos and 'upgrade' it to another affix, the safe method.
I recommend learning crafting to a basic level since it'll most likely your main method to get item upgrades.

You get the bonus stability as you kill more monsters

and then 2 of those are picked randomly

Why do some items require Circle of Fortune rank such-and-such and others don't? I want to ascend some stuff but the items I find keep not having rank. I don't know why this is, but I do want them to have rank so I can benefit from the tier 2 bonus.
THey only gain that requirement if they were dropped because of CoF effects.

@hollow pebble yea if it's your first toon, the side quest is called "Merchants and Fortune Tellers" in act 9, the city in the desert called Maj'elka. On subsequent toons, you can claim faction in the first town.

right. you can get items dropping with more forging potential (exalted items can go into the 50-60 territory) but there's no way to add FP to an item. you just have to manage it carefully and pray

yes, unless you're using another glyph. they're plentiful enough to use all the time
but also things like, higher tiers of affix consume more FP on average so it can be beneficial to cycle upgrading your affixes rather than spamming one to 5 then the next to 5

Both. Some of them have stat ranges, but the effects themselves are static
Uhm. Not sure if that is what they mean. All uniques always have the same affixes on them, the values of some of the affixes may differ though.
The phrasing "randomly generated" makes it sound like they're asking if there's any that aren't like, made by the devs. In which case the answer is no.
