I don't intend for this question to sound offensive or cheeky. Genuinely curious. Which class and masteries are most stable or bug free in LE at present.
I love the game but I'd like to make the most of play time without hitting known issues that kind of break things. Eg, Rogue Marksman, flurry, det, etc.

If you right click the Steam icon in your system tray and hit 'Exit Steam' it'll force close it, and then when you reopen it, hopefully that'll trigger a small patch for LE to let you see the golden guppy pet.
If not, then maybe it'll just take some time or support might be able to help
I think the main one with super glaring bugs like that is Marksman. Sentinel's shield rush is kinda janky, too, but it's not as important of a skill

Perhaps - there are still definitely viable builds for marksman, I hear people like hail of arrows, can't think of too many others since MM is one of my least played classes so far. 😅 I like the Jelkhor's blast knife a lot as well (arguably not a very marksman-feeling build, though).

BD is a lot of fun imo, neat mechanics and scales super strong in the late game with certain builds
So an issue I am now facing is when I start the game from Steam client, it starts on the task bar, I can hear the music and sounds, but the game isn't on the screen, like it is minimised or on another screen, (FYI; only have 1 monitor) I try uninstalling and reinstalling, and rebooting the system, doesn't seem to help... any other ideas?
This is probably out of my depth here, only thing I have is: have you tried validating your files through Steam after re-install? If that doesn't work, maybe when other people pop online they might have ideas, or support might be able to help.
what is the recommend stats? like HP, armor and resistance for sentinel?
rn. I have 1.5 k, armor about 42% and resistance 75% up to 3 and the rest is 40% up

640%, it's ticking up to ~33 stacks from the looks of things
there may be more chance there that i'm not seeing, i notice chance to bleed on bow hit doesn't show on sheet
Appears to be in the ballpark of correctness, with 700% chance and no bleed duration modifiers, you'll top out at ~25 stacks

Just to be clear, it'll have the same roll ranges on each of the affixes, and they aren't weighted to be better-rolled in higher level areas. But you do have a higher chance of getting legendary potential in higher level areas.

i really wish they would allow us to filter them out. that and the dps meter (or legit character sheet numbers) are my two biggest sticking points with design atm. I get where they are coming from on those issues... but why force me to agree with them? o.O I hope to solve both with addons or steam workshop for offline mode or some such doen the road.

I'm playing the Mage rn and I kinda want to get some experience with every class before the full game drops. Dunno if I should stick to my Mage and finish the campaign, or just play each class and get a taste for them and how they play and their skills

It's not locked. It's MADE to be there annoying you.
It use to be a square, and everyone was using 1x4 or 4x1 idols

Kinda? Each "season" is a fresh reset where you have to make new chars and such as if you just started again, while old chars get sent to a standard/legacy realm where all the old chars and stuff get sent to.

there is no generic answer to your question, it just depends on how you want to build and where you wanna go with it
is diablo 4 really easier than this game? bcoz i find it quite easy and i finished the campaign with 2 characters
general consensus is d4 is easier to learn the game and how to craft items and build your own build and such. LE's campaign is really just a long tutorial. it gets harder in the monolith
Hey, dumb question from a reletive ARPG noob. How do I know what stats I want?
I for crafting stuff? Like for example necromancer. How do I know if I want minion damage or minion spell damage? Or minion bleed on hit? If I want to make my own builds do I just have to math it out everytime to make sure? So far I've only stolen builds off LE Tools but I kinda wanna make my own at some point.
when you hover the skill, it will tell you what tags you want. should really be all you need to scale your own build.
you can also use a build planner from lastepochtools, to plan out all your passives and affixes on gear. lastepochtools also has all the skills on there and their tags, even down to specific skills minions use, so you can really dive into it if you want.
but with no true dps calc in LE itself, if you want a fully minmax'd build, yes math will be your friend
in your example, minion damage effect anything minions do, where minion spell will only effect things with the spell tag. that being said, 50% damage and 50% spell damage, will be the same when talking about a minion spell
Question for the content creators mostly, has anyone yet put together a Skill Tier List yet? There's a post on Reddit saying "don't just follow a build guild when you start out", encouraging you to go in blind and experiment. However there's a lot of REALLY BAD skills ("traps" we might call them) like acid flask, AoD etc, things you simply cannot make a viable build around (thought you might be able to use them in a support role). It would be REALLY cool to put together a kind of a tier list of skills so that beginners can, instead of going straight for a build guide, but can comfortably pick a skill they like the look of, and make their own build around it.
Obviously what works today might not work with 1.0 as a lot of skills may change on launch.

By the looksof Dev responses regarding indicators of DPS, we will have to rely on 3rd party tools (like path of building for PoE) to get proper dps simulations.

also just be aware that any planning site, those gear items are purely fantasy. getting every affix in the "right spot" and well rolled is nearly impossible.

Yeah, but you can export your character, then swap items, skills etc. Then you sim it to see if it will do more dps than you
PoBuilding lets you build whatever, regular items, or perfect items, but you cna test what changes to your skills will do.

There's no timer for maps or bosses, so you can take as long as you please
there's very few mobs that regen (and I think they only regen if you have not hit them recently)

So would "Bow Fire Damage" apply to all skills with both "Arrow" and "Fire" tag ?

There's a difference in that if it's Flat damage (Eg. +5 melee fire damage), it will apply to the skill type ignoring the damage type (Eg. the +5 is given to all melee attacks)

+5 melee fire damage applies to all melee skills, even if they aren't fire.
+10 spell cold damage applies to all spell skills, even if they aren't cold.
This only applies to FLAT increases, not % increases.

Hellreach has "+bow damage" and "+bow fire damage", which do the exact same thing if my understanding is correct
It does in a different way.
It still keeps it's damage type, so +10 melee fire damage will NOT be buffed by 100% increased melee physical damage.
Let's say you're doing a bow fire scaling build you'd prob want +fire DMG and % on stuff over flat bow DMG but that's still good if you're primary ability scaled off it

Definitely seems a bit overtuned, even if it is on the avoidable side. Basic mobs should not have one-shot (or near enough) abilities no matter how telegraphed.
Haha i thought it would be fire but was unsure from the amount I was taking. I got max res, 85% crit avoid and like 4500 armor but getting a few stacked up hurts XD

yea if you got a few of those at once you get bombared pretty heavily
i dont mind having some hard hitters like that, you can easily avoid them, the trigger time is fairly high

I think you may have described almost every ARPG.
im not very experienced with arpgs, trying to get in to it now😅
But the answer is yes, like other APRG, the more skills you try to fit into your build the more your gear and passives are diluted to support those skills
If you try to combines attacks and spells, or multiple different damage types, then yes your damage will suffer. However there's a lot of scope to have a main damage skill and then a number of buffs or support skills that you don't just turn on and forget (like Auras in PoE)
A good example is minions buffed with Infernal / Dread Shade in the necromancer mastery.

A good chunk of them can be, yes.
But things like Cast on Crit, where you combine an attack skill with triggered spells, doesn't really work well in LE, except in some niche cases

want it as high as you can reasonably get it, if you are looking for freeze builds
It does. 10 freeze x +200% freeze rate multi = 30 freeze
All ailment application (ignite, bleed, poison etc) will benefit from going over 100%
flame ward focus teleport are always p good on mage
150% bleed chance is 1 guaranteed bleed application and 50% chance of a second appliction on hit.

maybe a dumb question, if i convert flame ward to cold damage through the passive tree, will the cold damage still be affected by the nodes that increase damage of flame ward?
the conversion node normally says something like "converts all fire damage modifiers to cold" or w/e

take volcanic orb for example, if converted to cold, the passive says the spell no longer scales with fire damage modifiers, but most of the damage nodes in the volcanic orb tree only says they increase the damage of the spell, so those nodes should increase the cold damage right?

frostbite is an ailment, so, not directly. just cold % and dot %.
if its being applied via a skill that scales with dex, i do believe it indirectly gets some extra

Not on its own, no. The damage you get from dex will just make it a nice bonus on top of the dodge you get from dex.

unfortunately the "not challenigng at all" phase is rather extended in LE, it objectively starts to get somewhat challenging only after you hit empowered monos

It just deletes based on order sold, so if you sell a whole bunch, the first things you sold will be gone
rune of winter converts volcanic orb to cold damage, but frozen orb inside volcanic orb tree also converts it to cold damage. is this something that stacks or do they work differently from each other?

Yeah, I think all of VO's subskills match whatever conversion you have for VO

@ornate musk about minion drops, also keep in mind that two of three primalist classes have minions (totems are minions), sentinel has forge guard and acolyte has necro, so this game kind of needs more support for minions as it has more minions classes than normal

Rogue
Rogue is pretty fast in terms of movespeed. Sentinel has access to phenomenal early on movement skills. Not Primalist though they're a great class just lack in the speed
i think acolyte is the slowest? or mage? im not sure they are pretty close, but rogue is tier above others

The description on Character Found is actually the desc for Account Found, it's a bug. Every Character Found character has its own completely separate stash.
So in offline mode, you have one stash shared for all your Account Found characters (the default), and one additional stash per Character Found character.
So I took break from LE for a few months, actually took a break ffrom pretty much all gaming. So I decided to load up LE today. This whole trade/faction choice thing, is that a seasonal thing or somthing? I don't remember ever picking one or the other

swapping back and forth constantly will be pretty bad because you have to level them separately and your character has to meet certain faction level requirements to equip gear obtained through faction rewards

the "optimal" thing to do in terms of time efficiency is to immediately go to the endgame, farm until you're a good level, then go back and blitz through the campaign to get your passives/idol slots
personally however I think you should do what is fun for you
You don't have to do it immediately if you don't want, but you definitely will want to eventually. Idols especially are super powerful to cover resists while swapping around gear upgrades

Yep it is indeed. Played since I was like 14 yrs old, now at 58, I've played a LOT of games over the years. Back in the doom3 days when it got leaked out, I had 300-400 games with all patches and updates etc....burned to cd, and in a 4 slot front and back folder thing

compared to other aRPGs

you can just run through it at whatever level you are, 99% of it is running around so just don't stop to kill all the mobs

i cant help but full clear everything but im still leveling and want all the gold i can get atm.. im sure that will change once my character is more set and solid
well not too many more methods of getting to later campaign zones and you'll need to pick up (and do) all the side quests too
but maybe not.. i also full clear every single map in campaign i just cant help it
the problem with this is, low level gold drops are abysmal so it's faster to level up and farm higher level/corruption zones than to stop to kill low level mobs and collect their gold'
im not in a rush.. thats just not my style..
the meta in this game unfortunately had always been avoiding killing trash as much as possible both in campaign and in monos
its for efficient players. if youre on this discord, remember youre in top 1% already of hardcore players
meta because most people are in a hurry to get a certain item or a certain breakpoint.. thats just not me i doubt ill ever play that way

i think at ~30 i was able to do some, but it was such a pain, that going trough a few story maps for 35+ in 15 mins was so much faster than trying to push trough 50
even if echoes are more fun, the frustration was not worth it for me

yep thats how i am i love making my own builds and all that even if its something people say doesnt work or is bad.. in BL3 I was known for taking things people said sucked and making them awesome.
This game is very good for that kind of playstyle
but in a game like this i very much enjoy taking my time and just killing things even if its not very efficient.. im an old gamer its a nostalgia thing a lot of the time

That's the default movement button.
When you are playing with a mouse you can toggle that skill icon to 3 different things, depending on the type of behaviour you want your movenent to follow when using skills
When you play with a controller, it doesn't matter since your movement is "more refined" through use of the analogue stick. So that button doens't actually do anything for you.
There's no default dodge in the game like in Diablo 4 or some other games, and as Kzb said, you need to slot a traversal skill to fulfil that role. Traversal skills, however, on controller, are a bit of a pain though, since they default to move you to the highlighted enemy, making them useless for escaping out of a pack of mobs, and only really good for closing distance to mobs, or, with practice, escaping some Boss AoE's.
If a spell is triggered by another ability /skill but the triggered spell has a cool down, will it no longer trigger until the cool down is backup?

Iirc you still cast Smite but it's not travsersal

As Kzb said, Multiplayer varies for each player though there are some things you can do to improve your chances!
Pick the same server on the Log-in Screen - if you live practically next door to each other, you'll both be on the same server by default most likely!
When changing Zones, especially Echoes - If you run into any issues when moving through zones, let the party leader go first where possible, and make sure who ever goes first fully loads in to the new zone before following 🙂

More professionally - Just have fun! Respeccing is super easy and there is such a wide variety of builds that there's no 'one-size-fits-noobs' build 😊
the campaign is forgiving enough that almost any player can play almost any skill through it without too much difficulty
and then later on it's easy to respec so it kind of doesn't matter if your campaign build isn't actually good long term
i would recommend you stay away from like tempest strike specifically as it's probably the biggest outlier in skill power level and not in a good way but for the most part if it looks like a damage skill it will probably be fine for killing campaign enemies

What are the current "chase" items in LE? Is there a unique that is so rare/popular that a 0 LP of that item is worth more than all other uniques even with LP?

Except the elusive Omnis and Red Ring, everything else is very build dependant
There's also rare uniques that are top tier for builds, but that's also both rare and not commonly used.
And even then Omnis and red ring are kinda like extras.

Ahoy friends! I have now reached endgame for the first time and run monoliths for a while now. Because of this I amass Exalted, Uniques and Set items now it clutters my Stash pages. Does anyone has good rule of thumbs what to keep and what to sell/shatter?
I'd like to keep my Stash nice and organized and don't get swamped with too many items.

oh that is actually great then, leveling is the worst part in any arpg ^^
You can currently skip a good chunk of the campaign in Last Epoch when single player. And technically you can skip the entire campaign in multiplayer if you have a higher level friend. For single player, you reach the entrance to the end game, monoliths, somewhere in the 20s when you select your character Mastery. For multiplayer, you can get teleported right there.
You can go into monoliths whenever you're comfortable doing that. I did the campaign with one character and then skipped into monoliths on the following characters once I have 15/15 passives and 8/8 idols unlocked - which you'll get in beginning of Campaign Act 7. For comparison, I usually go into monoliths in the 40s and the first monolith area level is 58. But again you can go into monoliths whenever you want.
If you want to get the +1 all attribute quest from the end of Act 9 later, the exit of the Temporal Sanctum dungeon puts you into Act 9. Bit of a short cut. It's not a big deal if you just skip it, though. There's also the shortcuts in the other dungeons you could use to skip around even more.
Yeah, they are available until patch 1.2 (roughly another 7-9 months).
I don't think any of the current packs/editions have any Discord roles associated with them.

if you want to play flame reave which isn't terribly good you are seriously encouraged to use a staff due to the spell damage to melee damage conversion node

more corruption = more loot
difficulty scales as well and faster
in general, more corruption gives a chance for better loot via rarity. end of the day its just rng tho, until you get into super high corruption

okay i had to respec to get myself to 1200health, is it enough (i was at 920 ish before)
there is also an argument to be made that too high corruption slows you down too much, and therefor you get less loot. gotta find that sweet spot for your build

Empowered monoliths (Unlocked by clearing the 3 lv90 monoliths) start at 100 corruption, and has no cap.

Is the loot filter bugged? Half the time the filter is just completely ignored. Trying to set a filter to only show loot with specific affixes and it still shows me just random items that have 0 of the affixes on them,

Could be issues with the server region you connect to, try the 2nd lowest ping server
The Arena is located by Champion's Gate, in the Divine Era on the west side of Heoborea.
If you've got an Arena Key, you can put it in your inventory and Right-click it for the map to zoom directly there. A key is needed to do the Arena. A key is not needed for the training dummies outside.

At first I thought it was a bug since it said multistrike consumes mana, which would imply that the mana cost on multistrike itself would increase, but because the cost is conditional on the amount of stacks you have I think the text is just a bit misleading (some older text doesn't follow the same Conventions that newer text does)

I ran into the same issue when I was using the harbinger of stars belt, spending hundreds of mana per second and not getting a single ward :p
But yeah honestly this one could go both ways, either they make it so that stuff like this reflects on the tooltip of the skill and thus also works with stats like mana spent gained as ward, or they should change the wording a bit

More mobs killed is more bonus stability. It's good to kill things while you rush the objective, if possible.

If affix ranges change, they are updated.
If affix slots or pools change, like prefix/suffix swap or certain affixes becoming unavailable they remain like they are and are essentially legacy items
I do have a couple of cool legacy items in my offline Stash, like belts with 4 Prefixes and stuff
Affix pools changing can change as well EG:rings having potion find removed got replaced with armour affixes.
That was an affix being removed from the game.i was talking about changing which items could have which affixes

Block is very good, but you are right that it is a mechanic that you usually go all in or nothing
But even when you go all in, it will only be one of many layers of defense. There is never a single mechanic being your only defense layer, they always need to be combined with other ones

that's the core problem with all single minion builds. Some of them have decent aoe to compensate, others don't. Like the saber for instance. Or, yes, the raptor. Or scorpion if you don't build into nova.

Dd you make your loot filter less strict in terms of affixes or item base types?
Amulets also have dedicated Monolith Echo Rewards, so once you enter Monolith they are very good target farmable

Age of Winter is far enough already. Bone Amulet can only start dropping on Monolith and it is definitely a little bit trickier to get a good Amulett if you only want to use one specific base type. But those Amulet Echo Rewards should help greatly.

I have a big filter for all slot items but I moved amulet to the top

I have a filter for atleast 3 affixes with the affixes being all resistances, spell dmg, crit mult and chance, added health, health regen
I have kept it atleast 3 should i make it 2

If you are really desperate for a amulet you could also make 2 rules instead of one.
One for less amount of desired affixes (only 1 or 2) but higher tiers.
One with 3 desired affixes, but no affix tier restriction
In LE it is very unlikely to find items with a lot of desired affixes, usually you always need to craft a bit on a item to make it how you want
Glyph of Chaos, Rune of Removal and Gylph of Despair are your friends
Glyph of Despair is a really good intermediate solution to free up space for desired affixes, because they are way more likely to not brick the item

While I understand that many people want a really strict filter, the beauty of LEvs crafting system is:
Don't value items based on what they are, but based on what they could become.
I think a lot of people don't want to sift through too much loot only to get disappointed 8/10.
But the few things that do work out if you do it right are really rewarding and exciting
All the mediocre items I looted that became Bis items with a little bit of luck out weight the dozens of "failed crafts"
Just to be really precise, not with +X damage, only X% damage
Or, you know - Just don't use a filter

do we need to make new characters for 1.0?
current characters are sent to legacy (equivalent to PoE's standard league or Diablo's eternal realm). A new cycle (league/season) starts at the same time as 1.0 releases which you will need a new character for but if you don't care for leaderboards or economy refresh you can just play your standard characters.
if you want a fresh start, yes. but these characters will go to legacy with all their stuff and all the cycle content available this patch.

There's an amulet base that gives you less damage over time taken, I think that's it though

Craft it with a exalted (purple item) to gain extra stats that is dragged with the exalted item.
Crafting is done via clearing a dungeon.

Depends. First, are you using a minion build some people use it as an LP base for high end life builds even if they aren't minions, second do you want offense or defense?

You don't, it's random what it gives.
As long as it's the same generic type it has a chance to become that item
So if you're looking for, say, the Invoker's Static Touch you'd ascend rings
so basically chance to get specific set ring is 1 divided by all unique+set rings number in the game? it's like 0.00001%

You can think of Rune of Ascendance as an extra drop chance of that base item type. Similar to how the Monolith Unique/Set rewards give you one random item of that base type.

Wanted to touch base with you guys to see if you had any suggestions. Just came back to the game again yesterday to prepare for 1.0 and try out multiplayer. I am having a terrible time staying connected to the game. I dont get any errors or anything but there will be no mobs on the screen and I am taking damage, interactables are not working and sometimes i get stuck in load screens. All issues seem to be associated with connection to the server. I'm using a stable home wifi connection capable of 1gb speeds
