Generally better for later, so you can really make use of the reward at the end...but you really get plenty of keys, and you gotta the lower tiers eventually anyways
if you’re able to drop them you can probably handle tier one dungeons
really you can probably handle the first three tiers
only tier four requires a decent build + player skill

LE doesn't handle that very informatively but that's the error message it displays when it can't connect to steam
so it's perfectly normal and will resolve itself in a few minutes

They're both random world drops. Monoliths can have rewards that award a random unique/set item of a type. List here https://www.lastepochtools.com/endgame/monolith. For example, in The Age of Winter you may find an echo with the reward of a random non-boss-only unique/set ring. So that can give you extra chances at getting The Arboreal ring. Or Blood, Frost, and Death you may find the reward of random non-boss-only unique/set body armor for extra chances at The Falcon.
You can also use Rune of Ascendance on the base item type to get a random unique/set item, for example any ring for a random non-boss-only unique/set ring.

Well, I am a gamer who will buy the game rather on release but I would like to know one thing because it has made me terribly curious and what I would like from ARPG games.
Well, on the main page in the skills tab there are a few examples and their variations. Does every skill in the game have its own variations or are there a few main class skils that have these variations?
every skill has its own tree, and yes every skill's tree includes a few nodes that dramatically change how the skill functions
(technically there is one skill that doesn't currently have a tree, but that is getting added on full release)

Nope. You can't influence what you get from it beyond it just giving you a body armor for using a body armor.

They both have builds that excel in different areas, there's some overlap but it's frankly a personal choice on those that overlap of which flavor is more interesting and how much gear do you want to invest

Crafting beginner here. What's roughly the time to start using rune of shattering? E.g. at level 20 most drops you find even with the right affixes will only be T1/T2. Is it worth shattering them to simplify the early game? Or better safe the runes for later gear with stronger affixes?

Maybe lvl 20 is a bit early
Unless you fix an affix you really need, if for exemple you are a bleed build you probably want to have a few extra chance to bleed avaible if you want to craft a new weapon
other than stash tabs, you'll mostly just buy runes of shattering whenever you can. so use them at about the rate you can replenish them imo
later on, with better items, and by the point you have better understanding of builds, you'll be shifting to using removal more often

what's the trade off in using dual weapon vs 2h weapons?
because in my newbie eyes, I feel dual weapon is better because it can give double the stats but can any veterans enlighten me on this?
Different affixes on 2h compared to 1h and in most(all?) cases you get a dmg taken penalty for dual wielding

Yeah higher top ends and different affix options. Generally DW is the play unless your build needs something from a 2h affix or a skill/passive requires a 2h weapon/Staff etc.

You can only fight the boss when you have the stability for it, so yes (Beating the boss costs the amount of stability it would have costed to do the fight)

When you get to Empowered Monoliths, you will do bosses quite regularly. You no longer have to repeat the first 2 quests, and you get a lot more stability by doing monos further from the starting point and at higher corruptions. The boss comes around quite regularly then.

but I wouldn't do that, I'd just keep going to the higher ones until you coplete the 3 level 90 ones, as once you do that, all the other optional ones will also unlock.

once you've done the lvl 90 ones you unlock empowered monoliths, thats where the juice is
also at some point you will want to run each one for their respective blessings to smoothen out your build

Each Tier can have different rewards, Tier 2 Lightless Arbor has the boots you need for example.
Also Dungeons have Daily Modifiers, which affect loot drops or shop inventory. If you want to look into it I can send you some links, though it's also fun to just play it through at least once 🙂

So from a quick look into it, the Z1 Extreme can suffer from a GPU bottleneck due to the lack of VRAM, which leads a few owners to upgrade the GPU or buy external GPUs.
Last Epoch can be RAM hungry at times, which may be the cause of this, however the team has been working on this for 1.0!

Hi guys, I've had a problem since last week. I can't play online. When I try to connect to my online char, it tries for 5 seconds and bounces back or doesn't respond at all.
What I have tried to fix:
- Reinstall
- Repair Steam tool
- new character
- offline -> log in online

do the rewards/mods get better/harder the further out you go on a monolith? or is it just completely random
mods get harder, corruption gets bigger numbers. i think the unique/set nodes spawn more often the farther you are away(but is fairly negligable), but the actual reward rock doesnt get changed at all, since it drops in the safe spot

No,
But it's the only source of some uniques, and the only source to get the items that WOULD allow you to craft an experimental affix onto other things.
they cannot be shattered into shards, but, they can still drop as up to t7 affixes. and then you can rune or research and seal that affix...and still craft on it. and as kzb said above, other uniques and insight glyphs, to allow you to put experimentals on your own gear

Hello. Just a question for someone who'd love to start playing LE. I'm just curious how difficult/easy it is to transition from a leveling build to an endgame one? Currently checking maxroll guides for leveling build and there are couple, but there's like a shitton of endgame ones, and I don't know if I should just jump into the deep water with an endgame build and make it work on the way or just go for- first but kinda second playthrough-, already had like 20h last year. Or maybe some endgame builds are much more accessible during leveling?
2.5k hours in PoE and a lot i D3 so yeah, I'm not as fresh, just curious about this game's side of builds.

IT's 50k to respec all possible passive points.

Building off what Terrorym asked, with respeccing being easy, is there a sense of investment in a particular character? Also with 3k hours of poe, most of that time spent trying new builds only to fail at poe end game. I am both excited about the ability to respec, but also worried on what that end game farm looks like to really stick with a particular character/build.
you can still play one build for a long time if you want to
not to poe levels of investment. once you get those 2/3lp drops that are like .00001% and an exalt that drops thats slam worthy, you feel some investment and connection. there are pretty much always some chase gear, or better gear to get if you want. but you can always just stash that gear, and rebuild if you wanted to as well.
getting "good enough" gear is pretty easy (talking t20 gear and no lp uniques) once you are in endgame to jump builds if you wanted to.
@river fulcrum played the same build for the first like year or something

The maxroll builds in particular clearly say the are intended for someone who is already lvl70+
They won't be very practical to level with. Just FYI, can level with whatever you want ultimately

Yes, if you force lmb + abilities your character whill move in the direction you hold and it will cancel the walking animation

Hey everyone! I'm new to the game, started playing couple of days ago as a sorcerer (now lvl 65) and I was wondering if the classes are balanced? I was looking at the ladder, and it seems like the Mage and Acolyte are pretty OP compared to other classes. I tried playing a sentinel for a very short time and I felt like I was doing much less damage while being melee and barely more tanky.
Is it worth it to play the other classes or are they just not super viable late game?
Arena is a different beast, made with builds made just for arena.
In standard end game, the tops are wider:
Necromancers, BladeDancers, Runemasters, Druids....
all classes can do all content and push reasonably far (all of them can go to 1000 corruption but most people don't really get past 300)

sentinel is one of the less tanky classes for sure

it's sort of understandable. sentinel has the most straightforward access to the "obvious" tank stats like health stacking, armour, block...but these are just weaker than random weird defensive layers

main issue is armor...like no matter how u see it mages should not have same armor benefits as sentinel it is mindboggling
after they reworked armor its all downhill
class would be totally fine if it could reach for example 80% armor dr while other classes would sit at 60% max with investment
block isn't that great either compared to the investment it needs, health stacking is currently bad, etc, etc...
ya block requirments to be viable is insane
and also heavily limits build variety
if no block idols u arent tanky
and you need to lean heavily on unique shields for block chance
or cradle, or I guess still maaaaaaaybe bastion for some builds
i mean cradle is bad on sentinel, unlesss you go warpath? i think

you can get 100% block nearby and 50% block from ranged, in game its still strong

idk i think its good only if u have over 50% dodge or playing mobile char that manually avoids a lot of attacks
but craddle is op for ranged builds for sure, you dont get hit much and you can scale block effect just from resistances
not as good as old bastion but its up there in terms of effectivness and again makes sentinel weaker compared to other classes

Gonna have to post it, usually only a handful of passives are known by name and that's because they're tip-top most of the time.

well each point of intelligence gives skills that scale damage of intelligence 4% increased damage
every single mage skill scales off intelligence
so it's still giving you damage, and then intelligence also gives ward retention (critical for most mage builds) and there are various passives and items that give bonuses based on intelligence too
and it gives you a decent amount of res, which is nice to have
so overall it's waaaaaaaaay better than elementalist. the only reason I'd put points in elementalist is if you don't want to take anything in the next column and don't want life/mana either
I think every mage I've ever made has put 7 or 8 points in arcanist

Yes. If it was straight up one shot protection it would be dramatically overpowered. So yes, you can get one tapped through it.

From what I can tell, a few points into damage penetration (on skill tree) at 10% penetration each, is very much worth it but after investing a few it certainly has diminishing returns. Every bug patch they release extends the amount of work and time needed for 1.0, eventually you reach a point where you kinda have to accept where things are at and wait to fix it for the big patch

Depends on what skill you will be using, does it have some ignite chance already, or some pen/duration. What is your hit rate. Maybe AS would be better.

I am levelling a marksman, first in a long time - usually play casters. The build feels horrible, it's got enough movement and damage but it's really hard to hit stuff with arrows. They sail past the enemies regardless of where I hover over the enemy body. Sometimes I need to position to get a more linear line so that it hits. it's like the hit box feels off. Am I dreaming this, is this by design or is this a bug?
Is it Detonating Arrow or Flurry? Both of those have a bug rn where they can just not hit

Yeah I've played the build for a long time so I know it pretty well. Have gotten it to 600 corruption. Don't think fire Starters is worth it. Swords have a lot of benefits such as the chest affix that gives bleed per sword, the idol with bleed per sword more damage in SD node, bleed per sword in BD tree etc.
Swords also are a great source of dodge%.
Even with the shield variation I think a sword will be better. Curently planning on using two 3-4lp Rainbow Edge for the 25-75% ignite chance and then I can roll dodge chance as a full t5 affix. But an exalted sword with t3-4 dodge or ignite/bleed and a Nagasa base is probably better at the very high end. Just getting a base with all of that to line up is fucking awful.
Fire Starters for leveling and early monos is great though.
Firestarter is a good amount of dmg.

Weird amount of stuff that gets fixed by just connecting to a different server. Like recently there's been a bunch of people whose games have been crashing as soon as they login to a character but if they just swap servers it's perfectly fine.

It's enabled after you clear the three level 90 ones and return to the island connecting them. Empowered monos are all level 100 with 100 corruption at base and no maximum corruption.

Just pick the one you didn't pick last time. If you're unsure which it is it'll tell you a level of monolith you unlock in the dialogue box, cross-reference with your map and see if you have the path leading to it or not.
does the item level range on Gamble npc limited to max lv 40 ?
all the items says level 1-40
Yeah, it's capped at 40. There's a different gambler at the end of Soulfire Bastion that isn't limited in item level except by what tier of the dungeon you run, it also takes a specialized currency that resets every run (it is still much better than the gold gambling NPC in the town).

Bosses only consume as much stabilty as it takes to challenge them, you can hold up to two boss fights worth of stability on both normal and empowered (please do not farm bosses before empowered, the rates are intrinsically better in empowered)

Nah, not at all.
It's best if your build is cohesive but base empowered aren't that bad and as long as your build is functional, makes sense, and not using one of the outright bad skills you're probably fine.

why does the gold matter?
Lightless Arbor needs you to spend gold to juice up chests inside of a vault and it gets pretty expensive (but worth it if you land the right things)

It will essentially be the same as trading the item via the Bazaar. The system determines a favor cost for selling and buying and the seller can choose a price.
Only items without CoF requirement can be traded and the item will get a MG tag after the trade and will no longer be tradeable.

Fyi, the trade restriction is a little different now. There is another tag for items, 'untradeable'. All items dropped while in CF are untradeable, but only items directly created or affected by CF bonuses will get the CF requirement.

Depends on the dungeon. If you are farming for multiple item types clearing a lot is worth it in Soulfire Bastion.
If you only want a few specific item types, clearing like half of it is usually enough.
You should definitely always check both door modifiers on each floor
for soulfire, yes, clear everything for max souls. for the other two, rush the boss
@supple moat another tip towards farming Soulfire Bastion, wait until there is a really desired Daily Modifier. These will cause the gambler to always have a bunch of specific item types in Stock. If you spare all your keys and do run them all when that modifier is a item type that you really want a good exalted or unique for its really worth it

The map itself is always the same, but there are walls/obstructions that are randomized each time you run them. (Like Grim Dawn, if you've ever played that)

Yeahhh. In multiplayer you can get dragged into the monolith boss fight without the required stability, which results in no boss-unique drops and no blessings.
NORMALLY the host gets a warning if they do this.

It's a chance on hit against bosses, on death for other stuff. Much higher chance when you're damaged and/or have less than max potions
One thing that I feel isn't talked about enough is that the drop-rate of potions is significantly higher if you are not at max potion capacity

rate is not a fixed chance -> higher chance when low health/potions and modifiable with affixes
designed to avoid disparity between fast hitting builds and slow hitting -> has a rate limit or cooldown on drops

I specialized my Bone Golem and put points into "Amalgam of Primalists" which gives my nearby Minions 400 Armor.
Now skilled "Twin Golems", splitting my Big Golem into two smol ones. Now, do my Minons get double the armory because I have two golems around?

Well, just because you don't get it twice, doesn't mean it's not a decent node

Does anyone have mobility tips for minion necromancers? If I transplant, I transplant away from my minions which leaves me exposed. I specialiced Skeleton mages and used its mobility skill tree to teleport myself with my minions

The skele mage teleport is a great method. Alternative is transplant with the special boot mod that gives the minions come with you effect
but transplant's minions are junk, so if you want a lot of minions, skele mage saves you a skill spec

There's really no plans for anything seasonal for the first couple of cycles, I expect they just want to implement ladders as a way to gather more concrete data on class balance.

Cycles are a fresh start mechanic basically like seasons/leagues and your characters and stuff from them transition to Legacy when they end. We don't know exact length since it's not set in stone yet, but it'll be roughly industry standard (like 3-4 months). There is no special mechanic or items in the Cycle that aren't in Legacy, and won't be for at least the first few cycles.

it does typically line up with the added damage scaling though when it is on a skill, like warpath is 60% damage effectiveness and it has 40% less ailment chance - but it could be set to whatever the devs decide

that item alone gives me ~700ward currently without even starting to propely gear for ward stacking
if you get 1-2 lp on it with +your skill that sounds pretty pog to me

Because the premier item for ward stacking is usually an exalted increased health item with cold res or flat health and +skill.

Dual, 5% is way too low.
i'm not saying this is exciting or build defining but sometimes you just need stats to fill in spots in your build and this is totally a way you can do that

Sure, but without LP you lose access to health and +skills which are both extremely powerful, and it has one of the easiest resistances to cap on any class on any build.
I think it needs that affix to be something worth competing in the slot expecially at its LPL and on top of that I think that some other helm options need a nerf and the ward affix needs a slight buff (or it needs one additional affix to feed into it a bit more).
540 armour sounds better than 100% ward rentention

I just think that the item is not in a good position relative to the power it has.
and then i gave an example, shatter strike, where all of the affixes are relevant because shatter strike has a bunch of dumb requirements to be usable and those include having lots of dex, lots of int, manually building armor, and still getting your resistances somewhere
anyway i haven't eaten today and the sandwich place is almost done making my sandwich and also i ran out of things to say about boneclamor so i'm going to go eat a sandwich
Shatter Strike has the problem of needing you to either go full giga DPS or cutting back and scaling defense as much as you can though, you wouldn't use Boneclamor on it

Ignite is fire damage over time -> it is fire damage -> fire is elemental
is that destinction in the category of crit -> spell crit , because it applies to fewer cases
Can it crit? Yes? Generic crit works. -> is it a spell? Spell crit will give you more but generic applies too.
Hi, could someone sense check this loot filter? Not sure if it'll work the way I'm wanting... I want to see all exalteds, but if an exalted has the base and affixes I want, I want it to be colored orange instead of purple. To try and weed out the trash exalteds a bit better.

You may need a hide normal/magic/rare rule at the top of that. And I'd only hide all rares if you have great rares/exalteds in all slots.
oh yeah, and this filter will hide all non-unique idols, might want to show some that have good affixes on them at least

It's increasing it. Just isn't showing as charcsheet shows whole numbers
8% increased crit chance is only +0.4% crit chance, so you might just be getting rounded off
