Any particular reason squirrel minion AI isn’t naturally aggressive? Being neutral leads to gap in play, slows down gameplay completely.
LE isn’t overwhelming with pack size to the point that them being aggressive would cause a problem.
Playing squirrels right now and the lack of aggression takes what would be a comfortable enjoyable build and turns it into a second rate summoner …
A fire necro with wraiths mages and golems uptime of minion activity is so much higher than squirrels

Hello! Is there some internal limitation to the amount of bone golems I might have? I found the helmet that increases their amount by 1, but equipping it and using the ability doesn't add a new one. I specked into Ivory twins skill though, so it brings me to 2 as it is, but I couldn't find anywhere that limit is 2 total.

Squirrels being gimped at neutral is terrible vs other summoners, especially when it ends up being an actual hybrid build vs a pure summoner.. a summoner having aggressive minions vs hybrid having neutral is .. yeah.

What chance do enemies get to dodge from the echo modifier "enemies have a chance to dodge", I suppose this is dependent on your character level but I assume there's a base dodge given.

But We are really Lost, the tooltip says that "WE gain 1 flat spell damage per 5% healing", but you have said that adding flat spell des not influence the damage of the dot.
So the only way to boost dot damage with attutment is damage over Time, elemental dommage over Time, fire dommage over Time and fire damage right ?

It's not a SSF faction, you are still encouraged to play and gift with friends. We don't have a specific timeline for it. We will be adding it as soon as we can but I don't know when that will be. It hasn't been started yet. All characters will have access to it.

It says it removes the homing abilities of ice barrage - but ice barrage does not have homing properties (also seeking; choose one formulation) and non of the nodes grant either seeking or homing properties

Regarding Flame Burst provided by the Paladin Holy Aura. At baseline, melee attacks apply 10 stacks/hit, Warpath has reduced efficiency and only applies 6. How does the additional stack per hit, provided by Inner Flame, interact with Warpath. Does Inner flame add 1/2 stacks, or 0,6/1.2? If reduced, does one point do anything? And does both points get rounded down to 1 additional stack per hit?

That reply doesn't really answer the questions though, as far as I understand, Warpath has a 100% to apply to 6 stacks. So the reduction is in stack number, not chance. So Inner Fire should either Increase applied stacks to 7/8, or 6,6/7,2.

Hi Mike, just wanted to say i have never joined a Games official discord before, but after todays changes, i had too. I spent all night last night getting my first char to monoliths, it was a Flame Reave Char. I even spent 20 mins making a loot filter after looking up many guides to do so...just saying, alot of time investment here. I left for work and when i come back home, Flame reave is doing legit half the dmg as before and is the range seems to have been nerfed by 90% i Understand this was a bug with a talent point you "fixed" But please for the love of all that is holy, revert these changes, This skill feels awful now and unplayable.

Ok, followup question. Can Flame Burst stacks exceed 60? If you apply an uneven amount of Flame Burst stacks, you are likely to go above 60 stacks when triggering the Burst, do additional stacks "rollover"?
basically, it's one of any of those, it doesn't double dip anywhere
I did all three of the 90 monoliths, but I couldn't get to the thing in the center. I got the short cutscene but couldn't walk over the ground. I left the area and came back and now there's a hole around the device and I can't select the empowered versions of the monoliths.
Presumably this is a bug yeah? No way to fix it?

Hey Mike, I seem to be CPU bound. I'm running a 4ghz threadripper and 3090 being utilized at 25% while playing, hitting 30-40fps during combat. I have 32 cores but 1 core at 100% which is last epoch. Is there any settings to spread the load to other threads, it's really killing the frames

I have some questions about manifest armor:
- If my manifest armor has my Sunforged Cuirass does the weapons it spawns still get the bonuses from attunement and minion damage on my rings or belts?
- If I have attunement on a helmet does the Manifest armor get the attunement bonus 4x if you have the the helmet 300% node on the skill?

the manifest armor is its own actor and summoner. the things it summons are affected by its minion stats, now that's not your minion stats, that's its minion stats because the only way it can get minion stats for its minions is by minicing your gear that has minion stats on it. Anything it has that relies on other stats, relies on its stats, just like how yours would rely on your stats.
however, attunement (attributes in general) scaling doesn't apply to minion skills. So while it can have attributes, they don't do anything on minions.

Question: Regarding Scoundrel's Umbral Blades - how is it intended to act, when the player has:
(1) Bladestorm talent
(2) Explode on melee-touch talent
(3) Adds a 3rd blade throw step, before 4th step Recall
I thought I might be able to throw the extra blades on my third cast (to get quicker bladestorms/multiples since they explode), but it seems the "no recall" part overwrites "can cast 3 times before recall"; in that the "no recall" removes step3 entirely, which means it just loops steps1+2, negating the other talent entirely
a followup on tags, if you take the Armageddon node on Black Hole, the skill gains the Fire tag. however, im assuming this just means that Fire scaling applies to the meteor, and Cold scaling applies to the rest of black hole? it doesnt change the scaling of the whole skill right? and if not, then theres no real way to differentiate where a tag might be applying other than logic-ing it yourself? i saw someone say something about tags of the same type averaging or something weird too, which is what led to my question clarifying shadow daggers.

When it's a single effect that has multiple tags like tempest strike having physical/cold/lightning, they are all split evenly. When a tag gets added on to a single effect and it's still like one thing like plasma ball in fireball, it's still split evenly. When a secondary type of effect is added, they are their own things and aren't necessarily evenly split. It's also a sub skill that's getting added on usually in this situation.
Increases to damage types only affect the actual damage it shares. So if you add fire tag to black hole, it will trigger for things like "when you cast a fire skill" but "x% increased fire damage will only scale the fire portion of the skill.
Did you guys ever talk about granting some amount of 'crafting potential' back when using a Glyph of Removal ? Would that be op?

You get the third throw, but the Blade Thrower node before Bladestorm means you always throw one blade, so unless you're using the Flow passives all the throws are identical

Why can't we put added throwing damage on weapons? It alredy seems difficult to find a weapon for a throwing build, since there are no implicits supporting it.

a finger on the money's paw curls inward, a new set of throwing weapons is added to the game with up to +75 throwing damage....all throwing abilities have -75 throwing damage
There's plenty, such as flat crit, +1 lightning skills, % physical damage, etc
but seriously, you aren't throwing your weapon but you are smacking people with those weapons so they add melee damage

the pen is applied after resist cap is applied so if you have 75% all res or 8888888% all res, you have the same res.

no, it gives a charge of "next hit crits" and your next hit crits. I think this is reflected in the character sheet by your crit not going into the stresphere

Hey Mike, I was researching potions, and it looks like drop chance is based on hits, not damage, but the article says "The rate that potions will drop from bosses is not a fixed chance. It is designed to avoid disparity between fast hitting builds and slow hitting builds." How exactly does this function? Is there a chance built into every skill including minions?

So, multiple sources of "X% to inflict Y status on hit" I assume they are additive with each other correct? IE having an unique armor that gives 40% bleed chance to minions and then hitting a target with bone curse for more bleed chance.

Would you consider taking another look at flame reave, after the "fix" the range is so small that is barely usable. I get the damage nerf, not the range nerf
So, assuming I maxed the bone curse node, that would be a 75% chance to bleed from the curse, and then a separate roll from my unique armor for 40% bleed chance. NOT just one roll of 115% chance to bleed. Correct?

i wanted to know when the hitboxes of lagon will be fixed? i am playing a static charge build and they still are still not be able to hit him and the retaliation damage from flame ward cant hit him too. his hitbox problems were reprted over 2 years ago 😦

Liath's Machinations gloves convert 50% base fireball damage to lightning, the node plasma ball, also converts 50% base fireball to lightning, my fireball has now lost its fire tag, has a lightning tag, but isnt scaling with % lightning damage but IS scaling with fire% even though its lacking the fire tag......intended or bug?
I also has Another question regarding Void Knight. Since your recent change in 0.9, melee damage is now not "physical" but "adaptive". The type will adapt depending on the tag of the spell, right ? So having ways to change a spell tag would be very beneficial, afaik, Void Knight has actually no builder that can have the Void tag (Rive, multistike, spear, vengeance ect)

I had a question regarding "Hybrid" skill with double type. For example Flame reave with Fire and Lightning tag. Damage is split 50 lightning / 50fire with the convert node. How does it interract with weapon damage. Do you apply 100% weapon damage to fire and 100% weapon damage to lightning ? Only 50 ? What about added fire and lightning damage, do they apply twice (I assume not). How does it works with elemental damage, does it double dip ?
skills with multiple tags have the untyped added damage from implicits applied evenly between each. so +100 melee damage to a hybrid fire/lightning melee ability would give 50 lightning and 50 fire damage.

there is no added elemental damage
increased elemental damage increases the damage of each by that rate (it doesn't double dip)
I just figured out the missing piece for you. When the ability hits, it calculates each of the fire and lightning damage individually and applies all the relevant bonuses to each.
Alright then what is the design behind having dual type elements. I don't see the upside. The downside is obvious since you have to build for 2 elements (or use elemental damage which is not as beneficial as going full fire), and shock for example would only work on half the damage. I'am just trying to wrap my head around it and understand what's the benefit for having dual type

Wondering if I can ask a question about the devs thought process for balancing. I am very curious why crit avoidance was taken away from base gear for sentinels. It would make sense for the guy covered in plate armor to be harder to have an attack hit a weak spot, wouldn't it? Was there some passive or other skill that sentinels had that made it too good for them to have on base gear? For the record, this is not an attack or anything, I am just genuinely curious.
usually it's a thematic reason, sometimes it's just because you have effects that trigger off of each and you need to have both effects. sometimes your target is resistant to one and having a split helps get around that. you can focus hard on one half and not the other too.

I'm sorry I can't give any insight into that one, it was done by someone else. Generally when we are balancing, we are looking to create as many options of viable paths to play at a high level so people can focus more on what theming they like and what mechanics are fun than what the most optimal perfect thing is as much as possible. We will try to pull mega OP builds down to just top tier and bring poo poo garbage builds up to at least decent I think it's important to note that every patch we see builds that we never intended to enable

I do gets that thematics are important but since there is absolutely no 2H sword or axe in game that gives decent Spell damage, this just cut this spell from being used at all if you wanna play spell void knight. I understand the 2H reasoning behind it tho, and the fact that it "cleave" means the weapon need an "edge"

it's possible, each class has specific element archetypes primary and secondary. fire is a tertiary element for primalist so it shows up very very rarely. Poison is pretty heavily represented by swarmblade and on spriggan form too. Adding either to werebear is unlikely but not impossible
Is Fire Aura supposed to be a main "skill" for a build or there is currently not enough support for that? Or maybe that is not a design decision

Would you consider changing the way Ward is displayed ? It's kinda confusing atm having 3k ward. At 3k i'am full, at 2.1k i'am missing 30% and at 1999, i'am back to full. Could we have a slider where we can choose what the max could display (for example, I set up to 3k as max bar, and everything above won't show, it'll be full, but will start to decline only if I drop below 3000 and decline steadily)

Lich passive "Hollow Lich" converts all sources of health leech to dmg at 10 times the value. Drain Life says it leeches 30% of its dmg as life, does that mean it instead does 300% increased dmg? Also, if I took its "Lay Waste" node so it doesn't leech health would I lose that dmg? Would it also null any other leech->dmg on the tree I take?

As the tooltip says, the trigger chance is based on distance travelled, so it doesnt work if you melee lunge.

Oh yeah I had another one, Does cast speed helps damage overtime from spell (I know it doesn't work on ailments). For example for Spirit plague, does having cast speed increase the dot tick, or spread time. Any caster with direct damage can scale their damage with cast speed (if they can sustain the mana) but lich has so many dots, cast speed feels wasted on them, even tho it makes the gameplay so smooth

i am in a party with a friend, i am the party leader
and WHEN HE is using glyphs of shattering or other crafting materials IT IS USING MINE
if he uses a glyph of ascendance it leaves his intact and uses mine first
it takes some time for my inventory to update so i didn't immediately notice
but i figured it out when i almost ran out of runes of shattering without having shattered anything recently
we went into a monolyth, my friend shattered 10 items and a couple minutes later my runes went down by 10
if you are more than 10 levels underleveled to the zone (not the party leader) you gain xp as though the zone was 10 levels above your level instead.

Would I be right in assuming that the tooltip dps on proc only skills (like dragonfire) is assuming you are just hard casting the skill yourself and this does not include proc rate? If it's a spell, does it factor in attack speed?

we don't plan to have mechanically unique potions. We try to put unique potion effects on your belt slot. It is possible that we might do an alternative use-on-pickup globe thingy in the future to get a similar effect I guess.

Not sure if bug or not. This ability gives up to 5 increases to Increased Cast Speed, I watched it go up on Character screen. However the buff icon stacks multiple instances up to 40-45 before the decay equilizes the gain rate.

If I give a manifest armor a weapon with "increased minion spell damage", will it double count that damage percentage? Once for me giving the weapon to the minion and another time for the minion itself? Or would the minion's spells have their own tags that potentially did not include a minion tag?

Hi Mike regarding the Hand of Judgment questions from last night, we did some testing and nothing is correct XD.
Healing effectiveness does not increase the damage of consecrated ground although it is indicated on the tooltip.
Consecrating's area of effect will increase with attunment while it's not mentioned in the glove tooltip.
In addition we realized that we can equip a weapon, we keep the area of effect given by the attunment on consecrating and the damage of the weapon.
Could you please tell us what is a bug or if it is intended? we don't want to exploit the game.

there is a display bug which shows you still in hardcore solo. It is just a display bug, you are in SC multiplayer

There is amazing currency sink for gold in the game right now. Are there any plans to introduce currency sinks or maybe like a progression system to other useless currencies you accumulate insane amounts that you can never consume like affix shards/most of the runes/non-despair glyphs?

for throwing hammer, is "enra's technique" intended to negate the downside of the nodes it affects? i have "catapult" and "iron spiral" which says it cuts the +4 extra projectiles in half to +2, yet i'm still throwing 5 hammers

Greetings, Mike. Question: do ricocheting shurikens home in to the closest enemy behind the intended target or can they bounce off at a different angle? Trying to figure out whether there's a bug related to secondary projectiles or not.

How short is their seek radius? Seems like ricochets only trigger when mobs are really densely packed, and I've yet to see more than one actual ricochet (unless I'm like really blind).

When resetting Echos with a Vessel of Memory, the uniques / set items that drop from the echos you reset appear to be the same uniques as you received the first time. if you are underleveled by more than 10 levels you gain xp as though the zone were 10 levels above you. So if, as a level 69 character, you go to a lvl 100 zone, you would gain xp as though it was a level 79 zone.

we don't store your offline saves. if you're using steam sync steam could have a backup

Since Forge Strike has a minion tag, would its damage be buffed by increases to minion damage? I figured the tag was there mostly for the minions but still trying to wrap my head around 100% how the tags work in this game.
is there a reason why monster cold damage seems INSANELY overtuned? Compared to other elements of damage - Some monsters in particular (cold) basically oneshot me the instant they touch me, compared to other elements im not even rescapped in i can tank multiple instances of damage from?
Icebat cold breath attack - goatman Avalanche attack - same with ice golems, they deal way more damage than some corrupted bosses most of the time

it has a minion tag because a portion of the skill creates minions, forge strike's damage doesn't go up if you have increased minion damage but the overall damage of the whole skill if you are summoning minions with it does

no, one of the scorpion's attacks has a poison chance applied to it (can't remember if it's every attack or not). The scorpion itself doesn't have flat poison chance stat. It's the actual ability. Like how serpent strike has poison chance built into it.

I just looked it up, it's when it attacks with it's tail and that is a 100% chance to poison. That's the first thing it does

You can die to Majasa any number of times currently and just continue on the fight, which feels weird since the Lagon fight resets when u die, so u have to start over.
spell necrotic damage would add necrotic damage to any spell and "typeless" will add damage to a spell based on the tags
untyped flat added damage adapts to the spell which was used. If you use a necrotic spell, it is identical to flat added necrotic damage. if you use a fire spell, it's the same as flat added fire damage. if you use a hybrid spell, it splits in half to each

Have you guys finalized and like the rewards of Endless Arena? I don't know if it's because I'm in the first 30 waves, but they seem super mediocre?? Could be a suggestion, but curious if the feature is considered "complete" ??

I would be ok with it being in this state for 1.0. Not really thrilled but ok. Complete? It will take a very long time for me to call any aspect of the game complete.
time doesn't go far enough forward without everything being completely decimated to have the tech advance far enough yet. Something about almost every human on earth being killed and magic existing kinda stalls things out for some reason.

I'm getting some very wild instability when trying to connect with my friends in South Africa from Canada. I know that it's not an ideal connection, but I'm used to playing with lag with them. However it seems that some play sessions are smooth and others are apocalyptic; is this possible a server allocation error due to the distances that's still being worked on? Or are my only Last Epoch buddies forever separated from me? 😦

Hello! Altering tags and functionality on skills can be confusing, as to what affixes scale what things.
For example, Spriggan Vines have the option to shoot Spirit Thorns, and scale with Spriggan talent tree. But, do the Vines now scale with minion spell power, or is it a ranged attack? The tooltip doesn't reflect this.
Primalist Swipe, added lightning damage node. Does increasing elemental damage only increase the lightning portion, or the entire damage package since it now has a Lightning tag? Thanks!
jumping doesn't have any mechanical benefits over things like teleport or transplant on the mage and acolyte. It's a thematically appropriate mechanic for the Primalist's primary movement ability.

"ranged attack" isn't a mechanical concept in the game. spriggan vines either use melee abilities or spell abilities. (they don't have any bow or throwing which are the other 2 options)
increases to any damage type only affect that type, so increased elemental damage on a physical/lightning ability scales the lightning portion of that ability (and any other incidental elemental damage like ignite for example)

overcapping resistances is pointless correct arguing with a friend who is new to the game
Monsters have 1% resist pen up to 75% max. I think overcapping helps with that

Shred is applied before your resists are capped - having extra protects you against it. Marked for Death reduces your resists by 25% after the cap is applied, and Penetration applies 1:1 after cap

The way I tested was, I summoned Manifest armor with out Aberrant Call equipped, then equipped Aberrant Call, and it didnt get the health drain or the increased minion damage
enemies have 1% penetration per level up to a max of 75% per level. This is applied after you res cap so if in a level 100 zone you have 75 all res or 99999999999 all res, you still have 0 all res.
is it no longer possible to skip taking artem's offer quest? Intentional or a bug? Currently when you go to Ezra's study you automatically get artem's quest even if you didn't talk to him.

Is the quality of player modifiers influenced by the difficulty of enemy modifiers for echoes? Or are the player mods just rolled randomly? Right now im seeing enemies have 63% increased health and void enemies have 165% increased damage with the same player modifiers and that just doesn't seem proportionate.
sorry, misread the question, the temporary mods have nothing to do with the number of players
Does grounding conduit from storm totem affect storm crows if they have the fulminating claw ?
also, increase to lightning damage is it only "x% increase lightning damage" or is it also +15 spell lightning damage

I didnt know that overcapped res was relevant to enemies with pen mods/curse. all i remembered was what you just said about the zone level pen not being affected. thanks for the clarification
Sorry, I don't mean relative to the number of players - just if the reward you are supposed to get is relative to the difficulty of the enemy modifier above, or if it is just random.
they both scale relative to distance from center, they have random ranges applied too

Do you guys help with accounts and glitched out stash tabs for online characters? Think i just ran into a nasty bug where i was able to remove a glitched out stash tab category, but it deleted like 5 stash tabs worth of idols...
you can contact #support for help. this is a known bug. pretty sure you just have to make more categories and it comes back but I don't know

you can always just pick general or bug or something and it will get sorted properly. However, you can check the forums and someone else is surely to have reported it too. They might have workarounds
