Yes
It's whatever the mana cost in the tooltip says right now.
Even all of my offspring have seen all of the reboot & middle spawn has seen all of the original ones (a fair bit more than me)!
It's a little less ubiquitous over here across the pond.
You can gift any item within the party if they were in the zone when it dropped, this does not remove any tags that it may or may not have
I think it's on Disney+ over there?
I've got access to it, just didn't grow up with reruns of it playing after school.
Ive seen clips of it I think but i never heard of it until now tbh lol
I feel sad for you. Not being aware of the longest running sci fi show.
Wait I'm sorry - Mikes not watched Doctor Who before? You're in for a treat!!!
Minus the lost episodes
never seen it either.. is it fine watching the newest stuff only?
or do i have to go back to the 80s as well?
I've always been told to skip the early seasons by fans that I've known
23rd November 1963, that's a smidge over 60 years.
Yeah, the first few Doctors are a bit ropey.
Yeah, you can start at the reboot. Eccleston is one of the best Doctors.
And there's a reason why they got David Tennant back again to play the Dr in 3 of the last 4 episodes despite not having played him in 3 doctors
Cool! thanks
Is there a canonical reason why our character is always facing towards the entrance and not away from the entrace when moving between maps? 😅
Checking to make sure they didn't forget any of their belongings
Hey EHG, curious as to if there are plans for more 1. endgame content and, 2. sharing empowered monolith unlocks with alts - the game has a lot to offer but running through normal mono is just a pain and a matter of B lining it through right path to get to empowered, I personally don't see myself doing this multiple times for my characters, let alone every cycle 🙂
- Absolutely yes, 100%
- Never say never, but if ever not for a long time
Thanks, but do you have an official source? I don't mean to be rude but I don't see an official role 😄
You can search the discord here for mike responses. But the answer you were given is inline with his previous responses
@kind nexus is one of the most respected people here. They are super helpful and very knowledgeable in what they say.
Nah. I don't respect them. They don't play enough Forgeguard
I didn't mean to be disrespectful, thanks for the reply and subsequent confirmations 🙂
You weren't :).
- Yes.
- We will try other options before straight sharing. We are looking into the multi character corruption issue.
Not sure if this is the correct place to ask so apologies if it isn't
I vaguely remember reading there's a dev stream today, if that's correct what time is it happening?
I'd love to watch it
Twitch last epoch games at 4pm est. my time might be wrong so I’m sure someone will correct me but that’s close
Ooo pog
Very hype for that
I've been super giddy about news for this game since I bought it last week
I don't generally share too much on the Friday dev streams. It's a chance to touch base with everyone and sometimes we get into some news nuggets but it's generally pretty sparse in that category.
Devs are there plans to improve the Blessing reward popup window? Please see #1192734587244257290 post for example. It's blocking the 'Other' button on the character sheet.
yes. It's been fixed internally
awesome thank you! Keep up the great work LE is an amazing game
Does Gregory keep a beverage in his barrel hat and occasionally drink from it like one of those soccer hats?
Would it be very difficult to add a low-health audio cue?
Well you do have to solve the issue of "What if low-health build?"
Could always make it a toggle in settings.
or maybe like not a continuous sound? idk
How does the shop refresh works exactly? I can't remember what it was in monos and for campaign. It does seem different in the campaign though, as ch1 shop refreshed a lot more
are you fixing this in realese =)?
The gardener is on it
We are working to fix every bug we can find. Please report bugs in the appropriate ways. Forums, in game reporting tool or #1123698102470189118 .
will stacking keys come out on or before 1.0? or still no ETA on that?
no ETA yet
dang kk...hope soon xD
for item-changing effects when an enemy dies (WW, cuckoo), do enemies with higher/lower density have normalised chances to trigger them or is it a uniform chance?
any kill is the same. if you really wanna power up those items fast, arena gives you quite a bit of density. can get multiple WW levels in a round
👍
Do you know by any chance if the bug with movement skills like wp/shield rush/rampage being stuck on textures will be looked into before 1.0?
and also are you planning to make abilities like rampage/shield rush/flame dash being able to turn direction while channeling ,or is it not something that intended to be in the game at any point?
I have no information on the status of bugs. I can say that it's not getting stuck on the texture as they don't exist on the server. We are working to fix all the bugs we can. We are basically just in bug fixing mode.
Rampage was initially intended to allow you to steer it a bit but we haven't managed to get it to work. I'm not sure if we will ever go back to try that again or not.
I've been puzzling over this all day, how does this passive interact with the Crest of Unity? Does Nova do all 3 damage types at the same time? If I don't have crest of unity, what happens, does each nova, depending on the type is cast, give the buff? Elemental Nova, despite being random, was consistently giving me the runes for Runemaster in the same sequence, meaning that at the back end it was each spell type in order, but when it cast was coming out a random element. What happens then when you have the helmet? Is it all damage types simultaneously, and will ig get the benefit of the Sorcerer passive 3 times in a cast?
When you have the helmet, it's the same as when you have an unspecialized elemental Nova and it does a tri-element Nova.
That would give you the same runes as it's giving you now in the same order.
It does count as all 3 for the purposes of dragon mage and will give you all 3 buffs. Each buff only increases the damage of that one specific damage element.
Okay, Lagon is cool, but walking back because of connection inference is not, will there be more fast travel points added? its tiresome to walk through that all over again.
the screenshot from dev's stream. My question is if ally include minions / totems or only human party members? thanks
Ally normally means all of those.
minions are a type of ally, companions + totems are two different types of minion (game guide in LE goes over this)
Minions count
Game crash on wave 1080 zone transition due to memory leak. Is there anything I can do mid session to clear the leak without restarting my client… bc obviously just wasted hours in there to not beat SMK
Does party scaling apply if your not in the same zone
What's the official stance on mod support? yay/nay? tools coming in future?

Boils down to they don't plan to stop anyone from modding offline, but there's no plans to add any official tools for it. Modding online is a bannable offense.
Yeah ofc, no unfair advantages ofc 🙂
are there any plans to include a somewhat customizable endgame experience, similar to poe?
Nope, you should see a live update of your current party scaling rate in the chat window. It will update whenever someone enters or leaves the zone. And I'm just realizing that we might have removed the text message about that.
gotcha.
Sorry no, nothing to be done on the fly. We have fixed some issues that could cause the problem you're describing. I don't want to say that's this one specifically is fixed in case we have more bugs that can cause this.
Kinda. We do plan to add more options to the end game systems we have and add more end game systems too. We try to give players ways to customize their experience already so we will continue to expand on that.
ah, was asking cause a lot of stuff is really only attainable in a certain type of mode (ie mapping with completely random objectives)
maybe I should have asked, is there any plan to customize the mapping experience?
1.0 won't bring any major changes to the mechanical structure of the Monolith of Fate. I can't really share anything more about our future plans than what I put above.
Also, the only items that are locked to specific content are the boss drops really. I guess a couple quest drops too. If you're looking to customize your rewards, I think you'll be very interested in the Circle of Fortune.
got it, I mean I guess trade works as well as a way to customize drops 🤣
Yea, you'll see what I mean.
Also, this may be a dumb question, but any plans to improve the viability of reflect builds?
Hi, I was just curious about the server locations.
There doesn't seem to be any info on it really other than region.
Are there any plans to customize drops in monoliths in later patches? Similar to how POE does the atlas tree, or torchlight infinite does Decks
Scroll up a bit
thanks
np
Is there a way to get my in-game damage numbers output via a log file or otherwise? I want to be able to run analytics on my dps etc
If there is the devs won't give it to you, they're against accurate DPS
Not really, we're doing some stuff for it but it's not going to be meta at 1.0.
Specific server locations are not available but little differences like Berlin compared with Paris won't make much difference at all. Maybe a couple ms. Is there a specific area you'd like to know the quality of the connection you can expect?
Sorry, we don't have any sort of combat logs to display.
Mainly wondering where the central server is, but given the ping of central and east I have a decent guess
My guess was central texas and east around michigan
It definitely is Texas. In Florida and my ping is lower in Central than East, which I assume has to be at least Pennsylvania or farther north for that to make sense
is there any way that we can get the recolor filter to not show items or at least have a toggle on recollor... I wanted to have a filter for each gear slot so it would only show the gear I wanted and then I was going to have 8 different color filters for my affixes so that it would recolor the gear the better the affixes were. But if you use recolor affixes it shows that for all gear not the gear i limit.
For Example:
recolor green affixes tier 4 and up
recolor blue affixes tier 2 and up
show dawn helm
so the above filter doesn't care that i have only dawn helm set for the only helmet i want shown and instead of coloring any dawn helm based off the affix filter it will show all helms with the color filter.
dunno if i explained the above the best way... i just know that i keep hitting blocks in the way i'm trying to set up the filter the way i want because of the paramters
Do the first 2 rules specify dawn helm only?
You can have multiple parameters per rule
you put them in the wrong order, with what u want you need to put dawn helmet on the most top, tier 2 on the bottom and tier 4 inbetween
well i have it set to hide all gear and then show only gear i specify the problem comes when i try using recolor
order matters in loot fliter
yep this is wrong
but if i move recolor anywhere in the filter it still doesn't work
Recolor is also a show line
Thanks for the reply Mike
the recolor affix's is set for the affixes i want on any/all gear while the show helm only shows the gear with affixes i want thats why i wanted the recolor to be a optional show so it would only recolor the items already being shown
That's not the way it works and you can do this with the tools already.
then you need to change all your shows to hide all bases that u dont want and put them above recolors, i think that achieves what u want
👍
ah, would u say it may actually be viable into monos? cause rn it falls off REALLY fast
Not for what I'm guessing you're taking about. Sorry. I'm sure you could get it going for non-empowered but that's probably not what you're talking about with viable in monos.
haha yeah I meant empowered 😭
any particular reason? just not a focus?
We just haven't found a way to make it fun really.
ah, that's another reason why I was asking about atlas like progression, you could guarantee your specific build would have playable content
I think versatility of your build playing a role is really good for promoting build diversity.
Went full corporate buzz word salad on that one.
yeah haha not sure I understood 🤣
Like if really narrow builds that were great at doing 1 thing but terrible at everything else could manipulate their end game to the extent that they could just do that 1 really specific thing and nothing else and not have to give up progression speed, I think you'd see far fewer builds in general.
One thing we try to do in general is make more build options possible to play. This lets people build a fantasy instead of building whatever happens to be meta, regardless of how much they like it.
I guess I'm just trying to introduce the idea that you can go too far with customizing these systems
True enough, though I'd think it could be tuned so that the advantage is roughly the same across content, so if u wanted to do that one thing u could, and if you wanted variety, you wouldn't be punished either
Context: Right now, there's a few known mechanics (zombie bomber ward generation) that make for particularly broken builds. There's quite a few still out there. When 1.0 goes live, hopefully many of the truely unintended builds will be closed off, but what happens when (not if) someone finds a new one mid ladder season. We have seen recently in Diablo 4, the HOTA Barb, the BL Sorc and the combo point bug with Rogues that make for some pretty ludicrous imbalances within class builds. Blizzard's reaction has been (this time around) to leave them alone for the season, and not to nerf them immediately.
Question: Do you know of builds you won't have patched out by 1.0 because there's no good solution to it without breaking something else badly, and what will you do when someone finds or reveals something through ladders that makes one build far more powerful than all others?
We touched upon this a bit earlier with the zombie loop build that currently exists. We don't intend to make mid-cycle changes which change the landscape of competition. It's a bit complex, and something largely we discuss on a case by case basis. The largest factors we look at are: if we remove the build, does it mean no one can compete on the ladder and the existing positions can't be challenged? Can any player reproduce the results? (if it's a bug which only appears for some players, we would want to stop that, but if it happens for all players, it's more fair game). How does it impact gameplay feel? How does it impact server performance? And finally, and honestly one of the most important questions - can we reasonably preserve the feeling of the build while bringing it inline instead of completely invalidating the build?
As far as from major patch to major patch, this becomes even more complicated. For builds in general? no. However we've taken multiple patches to tone down the impact of certain uniques on builds, such as Bastion, because we don't like 'nuking' builds or playstyles. Our goal is always to bring them in-line, not to make them weak just for the purpose of changing the meta. Even if you see a 'large nerf' to something, we still expect the results of the change to be comparable and competitive to other builds/options.
Do you think you'll have all the biggest offenders caught by 1.0? Is there anything out there you are aware of (even if players have not yet found) that has or is causing you difficulty to balance?
I'm thinking that with how minions work, it might be hard to take out snapshotting their stats when they are created, and then changing to a completely different set of gear (or even passives) and have really powerful Minions and also a powerful player character.
We've actually been reaching out to a number of our most experienced community members, and monitoring community feedback to catch any egregious case. I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but we also have two new masteries, and with them all sorts of uniques coming in with 1.0, so who knows what the community will find. Essentially, no promises - As a highly experienced ARPG player myself, I can confidently say no one is better at finding abuse cases than an ARPG player, haha. We also won't try to kid regarding the community's ability to find more 'abusable' interactions than we alone can. We certainly try to catch them all, but the power of the thinktank is unparalleled.
Snapshotting in particular I don't believe is something we'll have completely fixed for 1.0 but is certainly something we're looking into solutions for. It's more a byproduct of how systems need to operate to be reasonably performant rather than a bug - so we need to create new fundamentals to how those systems work.
Yeah, I was thinking that a minion's stats for damage and health can't be constantly calculated each time they hit or get hit especially when you might have a lot of them, but then you can't refresh the minon's stats each map, or every X minutes, because something like the Abomination DOES need to remember some of the stats that were used to create it.
There does seem to be situations, like equipping Aaron's Will after summoning an abomination, or generally changing any item that reduces your max number of skeletons after summoning it that will trigger the life drain on the abom. Is it possible to force a recalc of minions stats anytime any gear item is changed?
I think this is a question Mike could answer better than me, so please don't take my response as the full answer. I believe the answer here is 'no', because what it would actually need to look at is stat changes, which can happen very rapidly with things like buffs and debuffs, which is very non-performant.
I guess a somewhat blunt solution could be to unsummon all minions when the player equips or unequips an item? Probably together with a "lock gear" button that prevents you from accidentally changing your gear while outside of town
the "hammer" solution here is to just unsummon them all on any gear change
So, out of curiosity, how do you handle the various temp buffs (Dread Shade, Haste, etc) that minions can get? And why do they affect your minions but gear/passive changes don't?
Buffs affect the minion directly so the buff itself is all the information you need to make that stat change. Gear changes affect the base stats of the minion so everything needs to be recalculated because you don't know what gear you had a second ago when you equip a new piece of gear and those stats are affected by/have an effect on your other stats too.
That's a terrible sentence, sorry.
Furry muff.
Has there been a confirmed bug regarding cosmetic items and store points disappearing from their account?

So long term if you continue to add classes to the game, woundnt that make things more and more rare for specific class item drops or would you buff be odds to compensate for new classes?
What specific class item drops?
Weapons for ex
Or anything that only certain classes use
You DO know uniques aren't weighted right?
The only class locked stuff that are weighted are in your favour:
Armour and Helms, 8:2 ratio towards the char/class you're playing.
Everything else drops in equal chance, at least to RNG.
If uniques aren’t weighted then doesn’t that mean like a unique wand for a mage would be more and more rare as they add more things to the loot pool through the addition of other classes with their own weapon types
- There's no class locked weapons
for uniques.at all actually.except bows - That's just when more uniques get added, which always happens anyway.
Ok so basically things will get more rare over time as there are more additions to the loot pool then
ALL things will.
That's just the nature of having a bigger loot pool.
But if the game rolls a unique, you're getting a unique
Yea I mean ig the nature of the question is if they are going to filter out really old items or ig how do they combat the loot pool getting too big long term that items become increasingly difficult to get
Reroll chance pretty much handles this.
You also should make reasonable expectations. There’s a guy complaining that he’s farmed wand echoes for two weeks and didn’t find wrongwarp. TBH those targeted echoes are absolute trash for finding high end rare things on a very strong character.
Are bows not class locked?
Oh, I forgot about those.
Not really, reroll chance is just a clever way to circumvent the problem of having to change every other items drop chance whenever you add a new one, with reroll chance you simply give the new item its value and you're done. But as more items get added the pool still gets diluted and other items get rarer just as much as with other systems
Personally I'm more worried that as they add more masteries (they've mentioned that they'll most likely do a 4'th mastery for each class before doing additional classes) the class specific slots affix pool get diluted. Like with the addition of runemaster the chest piece affix pool for mages got diluted quite a bit with all the rune affixes
But those are few and far between so it'll probably be fine
What's "reroll chance"?
I really hope the SSF faction will give you a lot more control of the loot you see. Maybe influenced by your loot filter even.
Hey, i heard that all of the old character will be put in "Legacy Realm" at the end of every cycle. I wonder If old legacy chracter's stash will connect to other new legacy character's stash or will be put separately?
Thanks..
They will
Legacy characters will be able to access the Stash you currently have as normal!
Cycle characters will have their own Stash until the cycle ends, at which point the character will be moved to Legacy and the plan is for their Stash to be accessible through 'Remove Only' Tabs so you can keep the items you want to!
Gold and Crafting Materials will transfer to their respective categories automatically.
i got it thanks
If you are playing a character that had their stash separate, then it should remain that way - Shared Stash will remain shared, Solo Stashes will remain Solo
oh, what happen if the "first cycle legacy gang" has 100 stash tabs, and the "second cycle gang" comes in legacy realm with another 100 tabs?
Will my whole "legacy gang" gonna have 200 tabs?
😆
Not sure if this question belongs in this chat but hey, can't blame me for trying: Are there any plans to bring the game to the Steam Deck?
You can already play the game on steam deck (since the game has linux and controler support)
Oh...It was rated as Unsupported in the little prompt the SD has. Cool stuff, I'll try it out
Supposedly they'll have "temporary" tabs when transfering
It's not offically supported, but it works (from what I have been reading)
The Cycle tabs that 'move' to Legacy will be Remove only, so you won't be able to put anything into them, only take out. This is so you don't lose any Items you earn in a Cycle. I believe as they empty, they'll disappear though Mike will know more about that!
One thing I hope some thought is given to re: remove only tabs -- please do something to keep them grouped together by cycle; put them in a folder to preserve structure, etc. What PoE does (just YOLO scramble your remove-only and regular tabs on standard, have fun sorting!) isn't great.
I also hope it's possible to delete tabs/folders even if they're full of stuff, needing to empty out tabs/folders manually, then vendor items is cursed 🤣
Which engine does Last Epoch use? 🤔
Unity
Cheers
Hopefuly it won't cost 10 mil to open 1 stash tab
actually i think i't should be free to open tab in legacy mode
there shouldbe no restriction in legacy mode right?
oh no
then what the point of having gold then
nvm, thanks for the info
200 only
You want rune of ascendaces/glyph of despairs? Lightless arbor, and pay up 3 mil each run.
is the suggestions tab just for in game suggestions, or can it be suggestions for the discord?
sucks
Mike will know more details, though I believe the Remove Only tabs will just be there.
Gold is mostly used for buying Stash tabs, which increase in price with each Tab and for Lightless Arbor.
Have fun hitting the cap, no one actually needed it SO FAR
i want to have 1000 tabs worth of key collection
You can post Discord Suggestions too!
ty
Hello. In order to play and trade on 10th will we need to make new characters??
The Trade Factions will be available in the 1.0 patch on February 21st! The post on January 11th will cover information and more details of what will be coming in 1.0!
You will not need a new character for Factions, only Cycle characters will need to start fresh. All existing characters will move to Legacy!
ohh I see. I thought that the trade factions would be available on 11th. Ok ok
just to quickly clarify: it's "likely" when a cycle ends that cycle stash tabs would be moved to legacy as remove only tabs - however, we haven't looked at this system yet and so a different solution may be implemented. (I see a couple comments about stash tabs that look a bit more 'concrete' than it is)
Simpler to just put a chest in a room that spits out all the items in your stash at the end of the cycle.
And the player is just like "how much of this stuff do I really want to pick up and store, or should I just forget about it all and create a new cycle character".
yea, that sounds like a bunch of support tickets to help recover lost items along with a big hit to take to the old review score.
I can't be much worse than Diablo 3 where they mail you all the items and you have to claim them and put them in your bank yourself...
to be fair in that game you get like 10 smaller tabs total
I just delete the character and make new seasonal ones. Though, I think legacy will be more ... played in LE than legacy modes are in other games. It doesn't seem like (for now) LE will have season specific mechanics and features at least starting out.
Does that mean that there is a possibility that we would lose the stash tabs and everything inside of them?
It only means that we have not discussed or implemented any solutions for handling stashes at the end of a cycle, and thus 'any' answer cannot be provided with 100% confidence.
Have you already decided on the length of cycles? The first cycle kicks off with launch of 1.0, so there is ultimately a deadline to figure out that, right?
But is there a possibility that all items will be lost??
they have not, they basically said they'd go with the flow when it comes to cycle length
Not losing items is the main priority when designing a system for transferring items from cycle to legacy. We aren't prepared to comit to any specific outcome because we haven't even discussed how we want to handle it, let alone explored potential solutions, let alone actually implement or test anything. We're far enough out that we just can't give any hard information on it at all. So, while the main priority of the system is to not do that, technically it possible that it could happen if everything completely collapses.
Thank you Mike
We have a target for when patch 1.1 and cycle 2 will start. That day is still malleable though and will probably shift a bit based on how much hotfixing 1.0 requires. We aren't prepared to share that tentative date yet but it will be roughly in the ARPG expected timeframe that most seasonal games generally follow in this space. Being super vague I know, sorry.
Context: About uniques, and storing uniques, as a hoarder I feel compelled to pick up every unique I see, compare it to the version I have of it already and keep the better one, even if it's not for my build, just in case I create another character that MIGHT use it. POE came up with specific stash tabs for uniques, you have implemented a way that players can have more than enough tabs to enable them to hoard as many as the like. Destiny 2 has a system where once you've collected a unique item for the first time, it's stored in a meta-vault, and you can re-generate the unique any time you want (using a resource).
Question: Are you happy with players feeling like they have to have one or 2 of every unique, maybe more even with LP, or do you have any plans to ease up on the player on what they feel they need to store "just in case"?
I think that it's good for us to look into anything that can make our players have more fun. We haven't received a significant enough amount of feedback with this particular sentiment that would trigger a design meeting to really address this specific issue so I don't have a hard answer. I think the system currently lightly encourages you to keep your best 1 copy of each unique in case you want to use it in a build down the road. I think that's an ok place to be for launch. I think that if you're feeling like you want to keep more than that, we do have a massive stash system that will allow you to do so.
Now, making that process easier and smoother through stash system upgrades is something we have been looking into as a future project. We don't have any specifics but I can share that common requests include, better searching with some "light regex" style syntax and tab affinity like in PoE. I'm not sure what the future of the stash system will look like but it is not finished getting upgrades (post 1.0) yet.
Will steam deck support ever be an option for Last Epoch?
We haven't decided yet. It is a likely candidate given that we already have Linux and controller support. We will be looking at which new platforms we want to support post launch.
Having said that, many people do have it working on steam deck quite well already. We also have general improvements, linux improvements and controller improvements that will all incidentally help steam deck.
If you already have both the game and the steam deck, you can give it a shot to see. We just don't test the game on it so we can't officially say that it's a supported platform.
I've tried a few times, but often it fails out mid-login. I'll give it another go see if I can parse out why.
I can't remember exactly where but I think someone posted a pretty good guide on what settings helped make it work better on reddit? or our forums? I think they possibly ran it in Proton?
Sorry, I just don't have one so I don't have any first hand experience with it.
Just to clarify the news that was put out, everyone who plays on those days have a chance of receiving the item and there is no limit as to how many drop in game?
Mike, I'd really love to hear what you have in the works for controller improvements. I play almost exclusively where I can with controllers and have been providing what feedback I can.
usually you get a twitch drop just by watching the game related stream certain amount of hours
afaik you don't get it by playing at all
Ohhh I never knew. But will only a certain amount be disturbed??
I can't spoil all the info, gotta leave some for the patch notes. It's mostly just bug fixing and polishing. Like finishing setting up menues to use the "highlight" system instead of requiring using a virtual cursor. Improving gameplay interactions in general and specific situations. Other stuff. It's not like we're revamping everything.
No quantity limit, just a time limit. Gotta get em on the right days.
Is target priority in there? Will I still use BIG CD TRAVERSAL skills to anhillate crates and barrels?
I sped read it and didn’t see all the info. Thank you
Sorry, I don't have any details.
ok
The post was just updated to add a 1hr watch time req.
I don't own the game yet, can I still earn the rewards for the future?
I don't think so. Mostly because we need to have an account to link to in order to grant the drops.
From the news post:
First off: Head on over to https://www.lastepoch.com/twitch and make sure your accounts are correctly linked.
I think this step will require a Last Epoch account. That account gets automatically created when you first log in from steam.
Got it
If you're planning on waiting to purchase until after launch, you can catch the second round of drops though.
Do you guys have any funny easter eggs or comments in your code 😂
Hi Mike, it might be a bit early to ask this but I will ask anyway.
I expect 1.0 to be quite a big patch. Will we have the possibility to pre download before the server opens?
No, offline mode will prevent this possibility for the foreseeable future.
Not much really. We keep that sort of thing to our chat channels for the most part. I do come across notes I've left myself sometimes and have a little chuckle.
If this one of the mentioned notes? "If you read this, I am gone. Keep Last Refuge safe..." This was side quest choice response which for me didn't seem like the text to match quest text
Oh yeah I saw that too, I think it's just the wrong text
Wait which dialogue is it again, do you have a pic
haha no but that's a good one
This is the quest and response. I think there were one more before this response which felt off but I didn't paid too much attention at first
can it be secret goodbye of dev? 🙂
bro was trying to warn of the void irl 💀
Knowing the person that wrote that, it's just a neat little bit of world building and character development.
HEY! that npc has an item, melvern's writ
it is.
It might be a nod to something.
so i already asked this question into the community but i would like to have some sort of official clarification 🙂
with the preferred cycle system all chars come into legacy at some point which means that this literally works as the "trash pile" for ended seasons just like PoE.
my first question is: is there any intentions to somehow control that its not going over the top? i guess we all know how legacy experience is in PoE and i would better not have that in LE aswell.
additionally to that i would like to know how do you guys plan to deal with patches / nerfs in the future regarding the legacy realm. PoE went the way of nerfing gear only in new seasons and letting old ones intact on legacy which caused massive price increases for said items but by not addressing the problem in legacy realm because these considered "OP" items existed still on people that hoarded but them giving new players a massive disadvantage because they dont drop anymore how they were before.
so my 2nd quesiton is do you plan to nerf uniques realmwide or do you want to go with the PoE system in nerfing uniques / gear / stats only for newly dropped stuff i.e next upcoming season and let the old overpowered be as they are in legacy?
all items get updated retroactively last time we asked, so if they nerf a unique it gets nerfed everywhere
same with affixes and stuff
We've discussed having a "culling event" of sorts but never really thought of a way to do it that was fun. We've only lightly discussed how that's going to shake out though as we're probably very far away from it. The trading system requiring favor to interact with plays a big role in helping this problem happen slower.
The way our item system works, all items will update everywhere, every patch.
Hypothetically, if we wanted to specifically have some unique item not update in legacy, we would have to create a new unique item for the cycle and prevent the old one from dropping but this is messy and I don't see a situation where we would do that yet.
thanks for the clarification regarding the buffs/nerfs of items in legacy realm! and just because im curious: how did the idea of the "culling event" go? like what was intended to happen can you say that openly or is it secret 🙂 i must say i would really appretiate some way to make legacy more appealing because as for me i never really liked season systems that force you to do new char every over again so i prefer just to play maybe 1 season and then stay in legacy and i think im not alone with that so i think its understandable that i would like that legacy isnt treated as just the season ending place with all the ups and downs until new cycle arrives.
We're talking about a passing discussion a couple years ago that I barely remember here. Like I said, only lightly discussed it. We don't have any plans on the matter. I probably shouldn't have giving it a name really. We just are aware that a long running game where cycles constantly flow into a legacy environment can cause higher barrier to entry for new players who probably want to land in legacy. It's probably something that we will start looking into more down the road.
thats okay. its good that you were discussing stuff already tho and are aware of the fact that legacy can become a chaos at some point when several cycles have ended there unlike PoE where they dont really seem to care. so this is def a plus 👍
They are a good 10 years ahead of us in the game lifecycle and we have the absolutely massive advantage of being able to learn from their game.
Any plans to implement move with right click?
Not for 1.0
Ok, thanks for answering. I hope it will exist some day.
Me too
I've searched the channel but may have missed it. Will cosmetics cycle eventually? As in will they ever leave the store for more to come in or will they remain once they're in the store they stay in the store?
Cosmetics can be removed from the store for a couple reasons. Unless otherwise specified, it is possible that we could bring back previously removed items. The original kickstarter bundles and the initial steam alpha bundles are gone and aren't coming back. It is possible that we might make new cosmetics that are related to them in some way like the same type of animal but a different elemental theme or something.
The bundles that are currently available will cycle out when 1.0 launches. They are not forbidden from returning. We could decide to bring individual pieces onto the normal store or we could bring back whole backs. We could also decide not to bring those specific ones back. This is just a long winded way of saying that feedback on which packs you liked will help us decide which to bring back if any. People like new bundles but having 100 bundles available at once in a few years would be crazy.
The individual cosmetics that you see on the store to be purchased with cosmetic coins will generally not cycle out. It is possible that we could in the future add limited availability cosmetics like recurring holiday themed ones in December or something like that.
Thanks for the response! I'm glad I got my backpack and critter 😄
oh yea, the backpack was limited too
I want to do more of those, super cool and they can evolve what things are on it as the game goes on.
evenin ^^ i was searching whole discord for an answer but sadly didn't saw the right one... it's about the streamer tag here for a #🔴┃livestream-shoutout .. who do i need to contact for it ? are there any limitations for it, like a certain amount of followers etc?
i don't mean the twitch drops, just generally or is the answer same?
think so
Did you link your twitch account to your discord account ?
because i saw under "search" that some people asked already but no clue who to contact
I'll ping someone for ya. (they are set to away at the moment)
thank you sir
Hey Blinnx - I'm gonna grant you the Stream role, please shoot me a DM with links to your channels.
thank you sir 🙂

Not really a question, just wanted to say congrats to you guys on moving towards 1.0. Every iteration has been better than the one before and I look forward to being a total degen at launch. Great work all!
was wondering if i could get the streamer tag too?...msged Averielle a while back but that was right before the holidays so think it just all slipped through the cracks haha (sry if this isnt the best way to ask xD)
Have there been any exclusive items for players other than what is listed on the Last Epoch supporter page (https://portal.lastepoch.com/shop )?
Last Epoch is a time travel action-RPG. Face dark empires, wrathful Gods and untouched wilds to find a way to save Eterra and time itself from The Void.
yes
You're also looking to get ahold of EHG_Foton. Shoot him a message to get in. Will have to be tomorrow.
Yea, all the kickstarter rewards and alpha packs along with a backpack and a halo
Mike, do you remember an exclusive cosmetic item for getting the word out about last epoch? I believe this was during the kickstarter?
ah that was the halo?
kk 🙂 ty ❤️
I slipped you the roll now.
oh sweet ty 😄
Is there any way to still purchase those or is it too late?
There is no way to purchase those. They were limited to the early initial supporters.
Okay, thank you for the quick replies!
Out of curiosity, will there ever be an option to skip the story if youve already completed it on a character? Also do or will monolith progress save from character to character?
Any plans to host the wiki on something like wiki.gg and away from fandom? or just use lastepochtools, which is 100% fine by me. But with v1 release, i don't want new players using the useless fandom site.
Most of us just direct people to letools since it’s actually useful
They've routinely said they don't want the first part fyi.
thats unfort. Feel like the option would be really nice
If there are no plans to not have to redo monoliths on other characters, would a major decrease to stability required be possible in the future? Honestly think its more tedious having to redo the monoliths for each character than the entire story.
This is feedback that we've gotten a fair bit and we have a solution brewing that we aren't quite ready to share yet. It's not quite as simple as just shared progress as that causes some other issues.
The fandom site situation is...unfortunate...
Glad to know something is in the works. Would we know more in 1.0 or is this something for much later in the future
It won't make it in to 1.0 on time.
may i ask what happened? i havent heard anything about it O_O
We have a fandom site. That's the whole situation.
Please contact support directly. We can't help with support issues in this channel.
!support
Anything we can help with? We've support articles and a contact form at https://support.lastepoch.com/.
Same thing happening to me.
Maybe this issue will be fixed soon,I don't want to participate flooding support
ty for your response
No information on it will be posted in this specific channel. This channel is explicitly not for support. (In the name). I just won't have that info and I'm usually the main person here in the evenings.
Ty Mike ill stop writing here
No worries, just like to set expectations.
Well, apparently I lied, I might have more info. Apparently it can show that error and still work. You can check this on twitch. If you go to twitch -> settings -> connections then you can check to see if it worked.
@hidden yew for visibility too.
@sturdy gale for visibility too
Thanks! saw the connection was made.
Hi Mike, when it comes to expanding itemization (which is in a good state overall in my opinion) do you think it'd be better to go deeper into the current system with the addition of even higher tier affixes or something similar, or do you think the current forging/affix system is already in its somewhat final state and that you guys would rather add new systems to compliment it?
Regaring endgame, are you planning on adding more variety to it? And on launch, will there be anything added to it, and in general how do you plan to expand the endgame?
Please remove the fog of war on already explored maps
actually he's looking for #1123698102470189118 but it's just been so long that it seems like it's intentional at this point
I apologize if this was asked or answered elsewhere - but are there ever any plans to release LE on Xbox?
They want to, but they have not look into it at all. So if it happens it will be in quite a long time.
Will we see any changes to Sentinel's passives on 1.0? IK they aren't a big focus compared to the two new masteries and Shaman but I am curious anyways
I think more horizonal expansion will be the focus over adding T8 affixes or something like that.
Yes, that will be the primary driving factor most cycles as we grow. Launch is adding the Item Factions system that will significantly modify how you interact with the end game. I can't really go into detail on our post-1.0 plans in this category. We've talked about adding a pinnacle boss system early on but I can't go into details on that, sorry.
Could I be put on the streamer list? I thought I had it but didn't pop up last night. Please?
Don't try this at home kids @real night
Speaking of, I have a few more names to throw their way!
Maybe shoot them a message
We want to expand into more platforms. We haven't fully decided on which ones that's going to be yet. Platforms that get the most requests include XBox, Playstation and Steam Deck. This doesn't guarantee any will get proper support but they are early candidates.
any changes? yes.
rework level changes? no, not even close.
Already did! Some of us have been here for hours you know 😆 (I figure they're getting morning stuff out the way)
Will the masteries that don't have "4-5-6 point" bonusses in their nodes get them for 1.0? Are there some masteries for which there are no plans to add them to?
we call them "threshold nodes" and we do plan to use them as a standard tool in passive node creation for all classes. We have taken the opportunity to add some of these nodes to various passive trees. I'm not sure if all trees will have them by 1.0 but each will have them eventually.
Hey lovely devs! What is ur stance or thoughts about clans/guilds? Anything in the works?
They want them, they just need a reason to exist and there isnt really a good reason yet to add them
Jumping in here for @placid plinth - he's a bit busy - we double check on this one. You can earn the drops without owning the game, you just have to buy the game on the same steam account you link!
Nice, good to know
When it says that armour is 70% as effective vs elemental damage. Is it practically the same formula multiplied by 0.7?
Or is it taking 70% of your armour and applying the formula to that, I feel like it should be the prior but just making sure
it does 70% of the final damage reduction. So if your armor reduced the damage from a physical hit by 100 then it would reduce the damage from a fire hit by 70.
So it's effectively capped at 59.5% DR for none physical damage
I assume that's 70% of the physical DR cap then eh?
Yeah, if you somehow reached 85% physical DR it'd be 59.5 for the other damage types
yea
Alright thanks as always Mike
What is the lore behind the choice of “Eterra”?
is there any news on cosmetics in offline?
I don’t know if it’s never but it won’t be anytime soon.
yeah which sucks cuz it kind of locks out a part of the community
We are very focused on 1.0 right now. It won't be available at launch. We don't currently have any plans to change it.
unfortunate but understandable
If you mean the etymology for the real-life influences for the name, Terra from Roman mythology is the big obvious one, but also mixing in other elements like Ea from Mesopotamian mythology and various other similar mythological figures that start with E.
You guys totally ripped off avatars ey'wah didn't you? Admit it!! 🙂
I see
Jeanz! You got our Lore master out of hiding!!!
Hi Kyle! 👋
Victory
In Latin, earth is terra
But terra is roman mythology too so I confused myself
Yeah, Tellus Terra or somethin'
Thank you for the answer
There was an error trying to link your account. Please try again later. how to fix?
any plans for mounts?
No, at least as of 2018.
The game is designed around not having mounts and wouldn't function very well with them without a gigantic change to almost every zone in the game. So, no.
see mike thats where your wrong
you could just let us hop on top of our abom
or sabertooth
that would be such a cool unique, to have your sabertooth locked on your character
I'm talking about how the zones aren't sized and spaced appropreately if you were to double your move speed
Whats the confidence level on player mounts? I want to mount @south cedar - failing that, a @static vale
(I assume that's what a player mount is)
Sorry, I just realised this is probably a suggestion so I put it there
How about you add turtles as the main mount and half the player move speed!
Could have a whole class designed around mounted combat but all the mounts they could use are all slow animals like sloths and turtles
I know it was just a fun side note meme. It's a terrible suggestion.
is factions patch goes live today?
Just a preview
In chapter 3 of the story, when we travel to the Ruined Temple to get to the Sanctum Bastille, are we, the player, responsible for the temple being ruined in the ruined timeline because we travel back in time and take the 2 orbs that power the temple, just to get the bridge to open?
Are we the baddies?
Will we be getting an update today for the solo/trade systems? If so would it be arounf 5pm GMT? Does this also apply for the new classes?
We only get a preview on the factions. Not an actual update.
The new class info comes later.
Oh, thats a shame okay then.
Around which time can we expect 1.0 to launch on February the 21st ?
Most patches and updates come out at roughly <t:1708534800:t> to <t:1708538400:t> <-- This should show in your time zone!
So does this confirm that asia and Europe will get the release hours before USA?
Also will news come out today between 12-1 est?
there is no release or patch. its a teaser/faq thing. likely just going to be a forum post. will be available to everyone at the same time. the time is also just a guess based on normal reveal things.
I know that but my question bout 1.0 is still valid
The 1.0 update will launch at the same time for everyone. The times I shared are just the rough window in which most blog posts, patches and updates go out 🙂
Hmmm…so can you state which time zone that 12-1pm estimation is in or will that come out closer to rehearse?
I use a tool called hammer time that posts a time to show as correct for anyone viewing it - to me, those times show 17:00 to 18:00
The time shown is tied to your timezone
Totally skipped that part. I thought you meant it’ll release 12-1pm your local time
That is an awesome tool
No worries! It is super useful, especially for launches!
I really like cosmetics, but the game's current cosmetics are quite small and not very beautiful. I hope the game will have many beautiful packs in the future.
lmao. today and tomorrow during the dev stream gonna be rough
I love the look of the factions! Will the base game be seeing significant drop rate changes to make room for them?
So, what's the thought behind body armours not being tradable? Really curious
It's tough to quantify with words like significant. It's a noticeable drop but you will surpass the old rate fairly quickly by using either faction.
typos happen, fixing it now
Thank you.
Ah, thank you Mike
fixed
Regarding trading, can people who like the SSF style still sell excess items for materials/gold? Or is that contradictive?
We don't have default selling tho
And if you've been doing that, stop. They sell for nothing.
Circle of Fortune members will still value gold for normal gold sinks, such as Stash Tabs, and Vaults of Fate
Yea, it's just highly motivating to care about excess gear you're not going to ever wear/build around
you can still shatter them if they have good affixes
Which isn't really comparable
Well, we've been doing this for a while.
but if it's a good item that has nothing to do with your build in CoF then yeah it's not very useful
Gears we don't use we drop
you would just filter them out
Gears we MIGHt find a use we keep for other chars.
Items tend not to sell for very much (this is intentional) - your gold income should primarily be through direct gold drops. Picking up gear should only be for pieces of gear which directly interest you, not for vendor runs.
Rank 7: Unlock Special Greater Lens “Prophecies cost 80% more Favor and have twice as many uses”
Rank 8: Unlock Special Greater Lens “Prophecies cost 90% more Favor and have double rewards-type”
Do these stack with themselves and each other
hi is there any (no matter how low chance possible) scenario when an item dropped for CoF can be traded at the Bazaar? or absolutely not possible?
(ALso they don't plan for you to trade shards anyway)
Impossible, only items tagged with MG can be traded.
Themselves - no. Each other, yes.
Kzb items tagged with MG can't be traded it means they've already been traded
It is possible, if the item wasn't dropped by, or effected by CoF bonuses.
Oh right oops
I haven't cleared that memory yet
so I can be in the CoF faction and still drop an item not tagged as CoF?
yes
how is it determined then which items get tags, the ones that proc'ed a faction buff?
So does favor for trade scale at all? Would a 4LP unique and a 0LP unique of the same kind cost different amounts of favor?
Kain, you did understand my perspective, though, albeit a tough/impossible one to satisfy, right? My point wasn't that I was lacking gold.
"Was the item dropped by a CoF bonus, or effected by a CoF bonus?"
Get gold blessing, farm gold nodes, pray
(The same method we're doing rn)
I literally just said that that wasn't my point.
Can you try re-phrasing your question please?
Yea
Basically, in PoE SSF you often end up with a bunch of 'good' items that aren't really good because they can't be traded and you don't wanna use it. So they're just vendor fodder, but you know that a minion player would pay a 1000 divines for it. Practically it's just going to rot and you probably should sell it for that 1 alteration.
It would be motivating if you could do something with that as a solo player, in terms of resource acquisition.
Might just be contradictive in the end, but thought I'd ask
If you're looking for trade value from items, Merchant's Guild is for you. If you're more interested in finding items just for yourself, Circle of Fortune is for you.
There is a deeper philosophical discussion of "What gives an item value" - if it sells for very little, it has no value to you, and it has no value to others because it can't be given to others, then where is the value coming from? It's a perceived value coming from the trading side of things, where if you were trading it has value rather than a true value.
CoF Gets more, better items than Merchant's Guild - so if Circle of Fortune also got benefit from items they didn't personally want - which is one of the big advantages of a trade system (Merchant's Guild), CoF would be better at 'selling' items than the trade system.
Since the Favor and Rank is cycle specific, do you know yet what will happen when characters transition from Ladder cycle to legacy cycle at the end of a season? Will the higher of the 2 cycles be preserved?
We haven't yet decided how end of cycle mechanics will work on merging into Legacy.
Kain's about to open up theories of value on people
Will there be any restriction on items that have been through the forge or not on the market?
No. You can also see how much Forging Potential an item has left when looking in the Bazaar.
Heyo, friends.
I've a question, and apologies in advance if it has been asked before.
Are we going to be able to trade items between friends/party members if we're members of opposite Item Factions? For example, let's say I'm playing with a friend in a party and an item drops while my friend is online, in the party, and in the same event as me. Am I going to be able to trade him the item or the other way around?
Does this happen all the time once unlock ? Or is there a chance of it happening ?
All the time.
You can, but they still need to meet faction requirements to wear them, if any.
Further question, does this work for the boss drop sets?
Yes
HOLY BASED
Prophecies cant fail like echo rewards right? For example a failed boss encounter wouldnt erase the prophecy, it just stays until the goal is met.
Correct. However you could still trigger the prophecy, drop the items from it, then die before picking them up, losing them.
Will there be an API for the market to facilitate online tools for searching and tracking prices of items over time?
Maybe I'm a trade league guy at heart, but I've used SSF (and HC) for a while to scale my difficulty. Hence this weird contradicting take on the matter. Selling items is fun, but buying items is too easy ^^
I don't believe so in the immediate future, though @quaint spindle would probably know best for this one.
does the loot filter update include the ability to specify LP/Weaver's will?
No, we don't allow the loot filter to look at LP or WW.
So can prophecies stack with themselves? Can i have 20 arena prophecies all pop at once?
yes
Do all CoF ranks apply to prophecies or just the last one (duplication)?
they all do
unless something changed in the past half year, i remember dropping stuff predominantly for my class. will this change if you choose trade? afterall, if you are able to trade, balance wise you shouldn't have to drop all of your own gear.
No, you'll still have class specific drops.
What happens when you stack 2 or more of these?
they dont stack with itself.
Will you be able to Gift, via Resonances, an item bought from the Bazaar?
Yes
It doesn't remove the faction rank requirement though so it still is only usable by people who could have bought it themselves anyways.
so gifting is not affected by trade-limit, you could theoretically keep gifting the same item between each other
Yes, that doesn't change from current. Though if it doesn't meet standard Gifting requirements, you'd need to spend a resonance each time, which wouldn't be 'cheap'.
how does player to player trade work or is it just thru teh bazzaar stalls? is p2p trade just gifting?
Can an item that's been duplicated with rune of Creation be able to be put up on the market? There's nothing specifically preventing something like that?
It's more similar to gifting in that it's a direct interaction. It still costs favor and has the same rank requirements as selling and buying through the Bazaar.
That's totally fine, however just to be clear, it will also copy the faction rank requirement so if you buy an item off the bazaar, you can't copy it and sell it back for the same price.
Do the faction level requirements mean I also have to be currently a member of the faction to equip the item?
Yes
So I won't be able to equip a MG item if i'm a part of the CoF and vice versa
Yea
It is per character, so you can have individual characters in each item faction.
Will there be any faction specific cosmetics? We might want to show off our allegiance with pride!
Yup, could have sworn that was in the post.
just out of interest, do you have any statistics how many items in the broad "endgame" would be cof tagged, if you played on 300 corruption for example
just to have a sense how impactful those bonuses effectively would be
Hello Last Epoch community! As we get closer to the upcoming 1.0 launch of Last Epoch on February 21st, it’s time to drop the details on what you can expect for Twitch Drops during the weeks after launch. First off: Head on over to www.lastepoch.com/twitch and make sure your accounts are correctly linked. Starting on February 22nd (Thursda...
lol yup, that
Sorry, we don't have data like that available.
The only currently planned faction cosmetics are the Twitch ones? (Some of us don't really use Twitch) Will there be any cosmetics that can be obtained in-game?
Is it possible to estimate how long achieving faction rank ~8 would take and will it be approximately the same for both factions?
There's a bunch of variables here but as a benchmark - would it be before the player reaches level 100? 95? Any estimate would be appreciated.
Also shoutouts to EHG for always taking the time to exhaustively think through their systems to avoid unfun but optimal playstyles. You guys often talk about having the advantage of being "late" to the ARPG market and learning from the past and it really shows in the quality of what you put out.
Not initially.
Think all they've said is that 10 is post 100
If I buy an exalted and use it to make a legendary (unique has no MG requirement), does the legendary have a MG requirement?
Are there plans/will there ever be a D3 style transmog system?
Since there is player to player trading (even with favor and gold costs), do you forsee spamming chat with selling messages to be a problem? or RMT for p2p trading? isnt that what the AH style trading is supposed to prevent?
Not at 1.0 and I think unlikely to be quite as "do anything" of a system when we do get one in.
i figured not for 1.0, was just wondering if there will eventually be a way to make an item look like another item (excluding paid cosmetics)
Yoo why the new Circle of Fortune have no passives for increased rune drops ? 😢
merchants guild also cant trade runes so it's fair
When adding restrictions to catch abuse cases causes the experience of everyone else to get worse, it's something we try to remove. It does leave room for some RMT situations but we think having the feature available for everyone else is more important. We also think that it won't be suspicious at all if one account is P2P trading tons of super expensive stuff for 1g at all....
What if you're giving your friend gear, is that okay?
you could just gift it atp
that wouldn't be suspicious at all. select people that you frequently play with and probably have them send items for 1g back to you too. Sounds like great teamwork to me.
for ranking up in the merchant's guild, does buying items increase your reputation or only selling?
Both
awesome, that's how i read it but wanted to make sure
The post mentions that we can switch a lot between factions to figure out what suits us better, but if i have item equipped that requires lvl 8 CoF and decide to switch to trade faction , will i still be able to use that item or i will have to unequip it, and if so how are we supposed to experiment if we cant use our whole inventory after switching?
MG + no req = MG legendary
CoF + no req = CoF legendary
CoF + MG = fails, not allowed
no req + no req = stays no req
the followup from this is basically that in order to sell a legendary as MG, none of the parts can be bought
You cannot change faction without first un-equipping items that have a Faction Rank Requirement. To be considered having a rank with a faction, you must be a member of that faction.
So are we supposed to make a new character to try other faction, because imagine i get to corruption 300 on CoF character and all my good drops will have CoF rank requirement, if i switch to MG ill have no gear to use
Just making sure, when you says MG+no req this go either way unique +exalt and exalt + unique?
We really don't expect people to be flipping back and forth frequently. You don't need to make a new character but you will probably have to go back to lower tier content for a short while until you can build back up. It will naturally happen significantly faster though.
yes, those are transmutable
transposable?
MG + no req = no req + MG
commutative
that's the one
all of it
ew math vocab
Math stuff
it's actually the right term for it
Commies in our game??
so about the faction specific bases, are you done with balancing those? i know values on the examples are not to be taken as final, but it still might be a concern
Math language is commie language?
never fully done but they are pretty representative of what you can expect.
Switching from CoF to MG or vise versa seems like it will be much more than "going down adifficulty step or 2", Starting from 0 gear while at empowered monoliths just owuld not work. You probably will have to have asecond character with some MG reputation to be able to buy gear to start you off.
which you need currency for
And people have demonstrated that on the right skills you can in fact play without gear.
The town hub gambler? The one that just uses gold? That everyone has and is not faction specific?
doesnt that one cap at lvl 60 o rsmth, thats not gonna help
It... literally gets you starting gear
You don't need giga gear to run a couple early monos
One hopes that this is somewhat fixed by 1.0 though...
Nono, there's normal, non bugged builds that don't need good gear to do basic stuff
Sorry if I missed it in the forum post, will items be able to be sold more than once on the market?
Eg:SD
No
no. bind on trade
Also, not 100% of your gear will be tagged so you're not starting completely over. You can use the normal gambler to get some functional gear.
Can you resonance gift a super good item that you dropped to a friend that they then sell if you're both MG?
If they have a faction requirement they can't be sold
Alright I remembered hearing that a long time ago just wanted to know if it had been changed or not
Very little changed from the last big post about this.
from the sounds of how the system works, yeah
just to be clear, it's not really bind on trade as you can still resonance it to someone else
If you send an item to someone with resonance is it bound to them?
Any plans to permanently make 1 or 2 people on your friends list best friends or something so you can generate gifting tokens to them, even if you're not playing the same time? for real life best friends or bf/gf or spouses
we don't have the concept of "binding".
aren't items that are traded technically "bound" since they can't be traded again?
No, we found that limited quantity systems like this inevitably end up leaving out friend #x+1
binding to me means that the item will never belong to anyone else and since you can use a resonance to gift it to someone, it's not bound
So if you bought one of the most valuable items in the game on the market and then decided you wanted to sell it you could find a buyer and play with them until you get a resonance and then give them the item that way?
how will they pay
Yes, that is possible.
Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of limiting items to only one trade though?
99.9% of people won't bother
fair enough
also you cant trade gold right? so you wouldnt get anything out of it
sounds like a good way to get scammed considered youd be gifting it, not trading
Scamming is always something to consider but there are many communities with trustworthy people
The time it takes to get that first resonance is not insignificant. Also it might not be able to gift that item type so you're then playing for an indeterminate amount of time.
someone create an LE TFT quick!
you joke but that will be a thing
is the 'choose your blessing from earned blessings' rework going to make it into 1.0?
no
Sometimes, the point is to make it very very hard to abuse, rather than unabusable.
and if that dont work, use more gun
additive, multiplicative, or some other relationship?
Imagine your drop chance for an exalted item at 300 corruption is 0.006% chance, with the first one you'll have 0.009% chance (50% more). But the base chance increases with corruption etc. I imagine the story is the same for the second one.
Yeah but depending how it adds up it could be 0.018% or 0.012% or something else entirely
everything is well done, we are looking forward to it. The only thing that probably worries everyone is how the trade will actually be arranged for the players? Everyone is afraid that the trend will be implemented as in POE.
I'm not 100% sure on how the math ends up shaking out but they do work together. I'll try and get more details on it for later.
I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. Please rephrase.
It'll be an auction house type interface (no auctions just buyouts) with the option of trading directly like in Poe. But you'll usually trade via the Bazaar which you can post items on and others can buy them weather or not you're online.
in another game POE , the entire trade system is made so that you need to unsubscribe the player in the game itself, provided that he is online. Then he throws you a party and an exchange is made through an in-game trade. This is a very poorly implemented trading system. And a lot of players don't like it. Because players who are not online, things disappear from the thread and it is not always possible to reach everyone, either they are busy or the afk.
It's just wonderful
that is, roughly speaking, it will be like in the WOW game?
Yes but buyout only, no bidding
Will the resonance system not essentially be equivalent to full trade when it comes to high end items? If the resonances can be aquired AFTER the item you want to use it on already dropped, wont the meta just be to play together for a bit with whoever gets an item you want, use the resonance on the item trade it, then go your own ways? Isnt that essentially still full trade?
If you read the announcement post from today, you can see examples of the UI evrik.
It's just great, be sure that many people will like it and appreciate it. You are on the right track.
YOu don't get paid for doing a resonance pass.
It also takes quite a while, not just 'a bit'
TY
so yes, but its mitigated by requiring a decent amount of effort @somber marten ?
A LOT of effort, but yes.
idk but id persnally like to see some system whereby it requires you had the resonance BEFOER the item dropped, but okay, i guess its not designed for me specifically
You also can't be guaranteed that the resonance which drops can be used on the item you want so you might be playing together a lot until the right type drops. Resonances are really designed to fill in the gaps for those very few, really stand out items which drop when your playing buddies just happen to be offline.
Yeah, it's made to give drops that drop AFTER, that's the whole point.
And the possible abuse cases look to be very high effort.
id like it to be the opposite, where for friends you played with BEFORE are those who u can trade with
that's how it will end up playing out
... yeah, that's how you get them in the first place, just that you can pass drops of any kind and any time
aight i trust you guys will figure out what mechanics will be best to make that work
maybe this question have been asked before but, when 1.0 comes out and there is new leagues, do we need to unlock/buy stash tabs again on the new league?
im asking since i really like to sort my stash both on item type and rarity and that requires a lot of tabs, and that gets expensive really quick
Yes, you'll start your stash from scratch again as it is purchased with in game currency. (assuming you're playing on the cycle)
😕 suspected as much (and yes i meant playing on the cycle)
It's part of the tradeoff of having in game purchased tabs. I would like to see some sort of quest reward that gives you a tab some limited number of times or something.
I guess that's just a big gold reward though
people would end up just not doing that quest until their tabs start costing a ton i feel
Are items found bound only to a faction as long as you joined that faction? So until u decide, all items are unbound and can be equip by both fractioncharacters?
Thinking of starter gear for second chars
It's always best to just pick one. Either one, doesn't matter.
Mg drops are all factionless, default drops while in CoF are factionless
Ah so only the additional drops are tagged and need a specific rank in CoF? Thanks a lot for the fast answer😊
idk if was answered yet but does double lp chance CoF bonus affect RoA? it doest specify, so i assume yes?
Why can't I gift supporter packs to my friends on the steam store? 😭
Is this something that will change in the near future?
Is it steam's fault? 😂
I believe this is because Steam cannot verify if the other player owns the base game, which is required for the supporter pack purchases.
Makes sense, thanks
sorry, I feel like I should know this instantly but what is RoA in this context?
I just go to Rain of Arrows
rune of ascendance
yup, that makes way more sense lol
I'm pretty sure it does but I need to double check that.
big thing for me is that it doesn't specify drops only
and rank 2 works in the crafting system already
ty yes rune of Ascendence
do rewards from echo rewards/prophecies count as drops
yes
if it physically drops onto the ground, it's a drop
What do the devs think about the potential for RMT in merchant's guild? Like, listing a bad item for a crazy price to get fed gold?
I think accounts repeatedly buying insanely overpriced common items will be really obvious to investigate.
That's true, but will there be a system in place to combat RMT? With them, where there's a will, there's a way. So are you saying there will be policies in place against buying overpriced items? Seems like something that might be hard to enforce.
What about just some friend who wants to give gold to his beginner buddy by buying a normal item for a few million gold?
regarding the factions, i saw that items will be tagged with a faction requirement and that you can freely swap between the factions. Does this mean that if i've spent all my itme in the merchants guild and acquire items from it and then decide to swap to circle of fortune that i will not be able to use my equipped gear?
or is it faction earned reputation regardless of which faction you are currently?
We will have a more clear statement about this but tentatively, something like: RMT is going to be against the ToS. The types of RMT that we really don't want is "www.LEGold.com" (no idea if this is a real site or not and sorry if it is some unrelated thing). You giving some gold to get your buddy started wouldn't raise any red flags and is totally cool.
If I am CoF and find an item not CoF tagged, am I able to change factions earn sufficient renown&reputation to list it on the Bazaar then change back to CoF and continue playing while I wait the items is sold? Or is the listing paused/canceled when I change back?
Yes, that's right, items can't have their faction rank requirement changed and if you are not currently representing that faction, your rank in it does not apply. Switching factions is a release valve for people to switch if they are unhappy with their choice. It's meant as something you will probably only ever do once.
I think that's fine but I will caution you, it's going to be way more efficient to just play CoF or MG because you'll have to maintain 2 gearsets and you've missed a step in there. After switching, you have to farm favor enough to list the item.
Mike, another question. Don't you think that the resonance in CoF somewhat invalidates merchant guild? I can just create a network of players in a Discord server or something, and when I get an item they want or visa versa, we can just party until we can perform the trade. That way you get to trade and to have the benefits of CoF. Am I misunderstanding the mechanic?
Switching factions is not a mechanic to be actively persued. It is a fail safe so people don't brick characters.
You are understanding the mechanic but overestimating how efficient and reliable it is. This is possible if you are intending on making a trade or two a week but if you are wanting to really trade, you're going to want to be MG.
Right but if I'm getting lots of extra drops from CoF, trading once or twice a week may be all I need. Especially if I make friends with very efficient farmers, we will be able to pass around really powerful items while retaining the benefit of CoF droprates.
This is because as you play with more people, the pair up rate of appropreate resonances will slow down. The rate you can generate any resonances at caps at 4 people in your "trade circle"
Yea, and that's great.
Oh, was that not mentioned in the article, or did I miss it?
right? that sounds like a ton of fun to me
Not specifically but it's just logic.
is it a unreasonable assumption that at some point you are lvl 10 in both factions and stay cof until you drop a non-tagged item you can switch-sell-switch to get some more gold income
You can only gain resonances by playing with someone and max party size is 4
Right, but if I have a 100 person network, I can just party with whoever has the item I want until I get a resonance.
That's totally possible, you do still have to stay MG long enough to farm the favor needed to sell it. It will be a very significant task to reach that point.
My point is, you'll be able to effectively trade with anyone, which somewhat undercuts the point of the merchant's guild. As well as having the target farming benefits of CoF, by the way..
Yes, but that partying time is non deterministic.
Hang on - so resonances work on past drops?!
yes
I thought it'd be future drops only
Right, but my point is that it seems you get to have your cake and eat it too with CoF
Sweet
There'll definitely be a "party with me until resonance" for the absolute best-in-slot items then
yea
Right
i fail to understand what the trading currency would be in that scenario
$$$
oh right
Plus resonance blow the door wide open for RMT
If those people are willing to spend several hours playing with someone they don't know and can't really trust then that's their perogative.
Trust is a commodity, it can and will be built up
again, I do caution you in the reliability and speed assumptions
Ehhh. Not really. Even the "trustworthy" things in PoE of this nature aren't safe.
Eve Online has been running for over a decade and trust has been betrayed a thousand times... But trust continues being given and continues being broken 🤷♂️
and if this doesn't go the way we think it's going to go, we will be listening for feedback and be ready to adapt
Okay Mike, I'll reserve my judgement then, until it's been played out and seen how it goes. Thanks for the hard work replying to me and everyone else, I know you'll be swamped today with questions.
Once you join a faction and make a 2nd character will that character automatically be assigned into the faction that you joined or you'll need to progress to the point of choice again?
Each character needs to make their own choice. However, once you have 1 character that shares a stash with it pick one, you get given the option a lot earlier.
So you can still "boost" your characters with more advanced ones trough factions?
they share faction progress
it's split on a "per stash" basis, so if you have a HC character and a SC character, because they access different shashes, they don't share faction progress.
but if you have 2 SC cycle characters, they share a MG and CoF rank.
So if I have, let's say a rank 5 CoF item that i'd like to give to my weaker character it'll still be able to use it once I pick CoF on it?
Alright. And could you tell when is this "earlier" choice going to be in case of alt characters?
I don't remember, sorry.
The Keepers' Camp
is there any sort of ingame notification when an item is sold or will we have to check our stall manually
since we pick up gold from sold items manually as well
you get a ping
does that occur cross-faction as well?
I'm gonna say it one more time real loud and then I'll just keep saying it really.
DO NOT PLAN TO ACTIVELY SWITCH FACTIONS, YOU WON'T BE HAPPY WITH IT.
alright 😄 😄
but yes
ty ❤️
I'm going to actively switch factions just to spite you, Mike
well, you won't be happy with it
That's what you think
Is current item rate/mf going to be slightly reduced to compensate for the buffs from item factions? I thought I read/heard this before but it is not mentioned in the post. Jw if high LP is going to significantly rarer for trade or not
Is the first perk from CoF doubling the loot that drops or you just get 2x as much loot? I.e. can it give double Ravenous Void
is progression so slow faction wise that switching is that bad of an idea?
Yes, you'll get a nerf to base drop rates
Deias will cackle madly as she constantly swaps between factions as Mike watches on sadly
No, it's more like, when an enemy drops stuff and they are set to drop 3 items, the game rolls and 1/3 of the time, you'll drop 6 items instead, then the game will start figuring out what each of those drops is going to be.
Don't make me give it a cooldown...
Ah so it's not just duplicating the loot, it just gives more loot rolls
that's right
it also doesn't apply to things like monolith quest rewards or echo rewards
I think (from memory) originally it was mentioned end of acts would be roughly rank ~8 for faction, and you wouldn't see rank 10 for 10-12 hours after that. Is this still the expected timeframe?
the expected timeframe has shifted both directions a lot over the last few months. It's one of the last things we are trying to nail down still.
Mike, going back to an earlier point I made, it seems that the draw of merchants guild is being able to access items that other people found, and the benefit of CoF is to have more items drop for yourself. But with CoF, you'll still have access to items other people dropped, which somewhat invalidates the whole point of merchant's guild.
I know you already addressed my point, but after thinking more I was about to word it more succinctly, so I wanted to express myself a second time.
Will 1.0 release with a cycle? or will it be something like diablo 4 where the cycle comes 2 weeks after launch?
1.0 = first cycle
My fear is that people who want to be merchants will realize that they can get more items and better trades as CoF, and there wont be anyone who chooses the merchant's guild.
sorry, brb
I take that back because I think you would actively lock yourself out of your trade gear while you were farming CoF
me too
if you leave out rmt, what would you be trading items for in cof?
other items
shards/runes/gold/keys likely aren't locked down to CoF
those arent tradable are they?
CoF items are going to be faction locked so that's not an issue
Merchants will still have the advantage of being able to freely sell/buy loot. CoF will need to find loot themselves
sorry, correction on this, you don't get a popup, need to go to the bazaar or open your MG UI.
No, CoF can use resonance to effectively trade with anyone.
very, very slowly
Anyone that was in their party that is
What was resonance gain rate right now anyways? every ~4 hours of co-op?
No, you use parties to farm resonance, but anyone can party with you.
we have no idea lmao
Plus "trading" with resonance will be entirely based on a honor system, which is not a good idea to do
It's not a fixed time and don't forget, you might get the wrong type of resonance.
Then keep partying until you get the right type. I'd be willing to wait to trade some GG 4lp uniques with someone
Lots of games have honor trading. there's ways to make it very viable. D2jsp for example.
sorry, what's the question here?
1.0 is cycle 1 and the primary mechanic is the item factions, warlock and falconer
there is no way to change the owner of any of these types of items at all in any way
the drop benefits of cof invalidating mg
Yeah that comment was in relation to the question you were asking about. People using CoF to farm those types of currencies then just using trade gear
\
oh shoot wrong question
sorry just catching back up
Merchant's guild gives me access to other people's drops. CoF gives better drops rates, which means that I need to rely on other people's drops less. However, in the cases where I would like to rely on other people's drops in CoF, I still can. Therefore, CoF is a better version of Merchants guild and I fear that merchant's guild will be empty in a month if the system releases as it is now.
I'm sorry, what's the question?
is there anything that prevents that from happening?
Have I evaluated the situation correctly or should I wait and see how things play out?
I think you're very heavily overestimating how well you'll be able to "trade" with resonances.
like if doing that to trade a super valuable item, won't that just work?
cause ill wait that long
the only case where this is a realistic case of happening outside of rmt is when both players who want to trade have a desired item for each other, which is such a niche case, no where close to outperforming normal trading environment
and the RMT case is detectable
fair enough
I think that you're overestimating how much trading someone who is pushing 3k+ corruption would realistically need to do. Just one trade a week for a BiS item is already more than enough. Why join traders guild when I can get double drop rates and still trade for my GG items to make my character perfect?
Sorry for the grilling Mike, I appreciate being able to talk to you. I've said my peace honestly, I'll just put my trust in you guys and wait and see how things play out. I just wanted my concerns to be heard
depends on how much they nerf drop rates too i guess, I wouldn't want it to be too much
If you say that the CoF trading won't eclipse what's possible with merchants, I'll trust you on that.
But how do you find this BIS item if its Not offered officially via the market stall?I Like the Idea of having a ingame Mechanic and dont Need to use a third Party Website 😊
i mean im sure there's gonna be attempts at a third party website for cof gifting
Hey, we could be wrong on how this is going to shake out. Really, we could be. And we will listen to the feedback we get on it and adjust as needed so people are having fun.
We've put several dials that we can turn to make each faction more/less efficient relative to each other. First among them is just favor costs of interacting with the system. These can be fine tuned on the fly pretty easily and we'll make bigger changes in between cycles.
We are prepared to need to make adjustments. I think assuming it's going to be perfect right out of the gate is a little silly so I'm not trying to say that at all. I'm just confident that it's going to overall land on its feet.
and still trade for my GG items You can only gift items betweek people who were in your zone/party when it dropped, or that you've played a "long" amount of time with. Unless you're MG, then you don't get the higher drop rates or prophecies.
we're talking MG to MG trading
i genuinely don't remember if i ever asked this, but please let us use all the weapon we encountered as skin for the one we are currently using(matching weapon type so you can't use the aureli unique sword skin on the alchemist's spoon).
the looks of the weapons sold by the circle of fortune are so pretty!
Perhaps
We don't have a transmog system ready.
not a promise, not a maybe and not a no! it's not something vital like story content/bug fixing and balancing after all, i take it noneless
This is the answer I wanted. Thanks Mike, keep up the good work.
is a dye system more realistic than a transmog? its kinda cool that you can identify people's gear with looking at their character
Neither will happen at 1.0. Dyes are probably less soon on the list.
Is there a Plan to reduce Gold Drops or Add more Gold sinks to lower the Inflation of Gold over time? Someone who sells a Lot doesnt Need a Lot of Stash (which costs Gold) 😃 would Like to See lower Numbers on prices 😊
more gold for the dungeon sink 🙂
yea, that dungeon will handle it so well, it's a direct competetor to the bazaar, if things get too expensive on it, people will just stop buying them
you can get some insane gold costs in Lightless Arbor heh
just stepping into a meeting but I'll be back later to answer more questions
had one roll that was up to 12 million. i couldnt afford it 😦
lol sounds about right
Love the trade and item faction dev blog guys! Cannot wait to see how it goes once 1.0 launches! Keep up all the amazing work and make sure you’re all resting enough too! You all deserve it 🫡
If you pick CoF will you be able to drop items that require higher rank than you currently have? Nevermind saw the answer in the blog. (no)
that's right, I think the max CoF rank req is 5?
out of curiosity why is the max cof rank requirement 5 instead of 10?
I'm not 100% sure that it still is, been sitting here second guessing myself. But it's basically so that you don't get into a situation playing with a friend who is newer than you and you can't gift them items because you're too high level CoF.
so is the rank requirement determined by which bonus dropped you that item? or does it just rise with your lvl and stops at 5
I'm pretty sure that because the rank bonuses work together, it's sometimes impossible to tell which one was the key thing to get that item so I think it's actually a random range which the max value just increases every other rank up.
certain item types might force their way into rank 5 but I can't remember if that is still there
Logically one would assume that if a higher tier perk triggers then this one dictates the rank requirement
As your various Faction benefits can influence the item in many ways, the Rank Requirement to equip the item will be based on your current Circle of Fortune Rank at the time the item drops, while never exceeding it.
Duplicated items are identical in all ways including faction rank requirements. You have rank 10 CoF (Items from Prophecies are duplicated) and you complete an prophecy. The item drops like normal and doesn't have a faction rank requirement. CoF10 triggers and duplicates the item and gives it a rank requirement. Now it is different from the first item that dropped. Suddenly some rules are in conflict and one must be broken. Just giving it the rank that triggered it causes unfun moments when playing with newer friends and also creates paradoxes with the other rules. We figured this might not be as intuitive but it will not cause as many problems and will be more fun.
will we only be able to trade items found after 1.0?...or alternately if someone doesnt choose a faction for some reason and just farms stuff up, then joins the merchant guild, will those be tradeable?
Yeah I do agree that setting a hard limit on 5 instead of going for some set in stone rules is better in terms of coop fun
All non-faction rank requirement items are tradeable on the bazaar
Heads up though, not joining a faction is just 100% worse. There is no upside.
Other than some special challenge or something
oh 100% xD
Let's just pretend it's a secret extra hard mode
giver
you know there will be some hardcore SSF no faction runners
I'm absolutely certain that at least one person will do that. Assuming that the game doesn't force you into a faction ofc. Which is also my question for Mike
yea, there is just no extra bonus to be gained, you can even join CoF and still end up with exactly the same things to see on MG when you join it compared to vanilla.
Given that you don't even encounter them until chapter 9, you can easily just get to the monolith and go for it
they might have a story quest that requires you to pick to finish the campaign but that's just a +1 all attributes nerf
Did you ever consider releasing factions for cycle1 as a hard one time choice per character instead of a transferable option? It seems many are simply trying to weigh the options and "game" the benefits of both where/if possible, which would have been eliminated with a hard one time choice and likely gather more genuine feedback from people who chose an option for a true playstyle preference
Do we know what the base chance of an affix being exalted is? Otherwise this number is meaningless (why not 33%? 75%?)
Yes, we considered it for a long time. This comes back to not hurting one player for interacting with the system as expected by stopping another player from interacting with it nefariously.
I think that a very large number of people are going to try to employ some sort of switching tactic and be super smart about it. I think they are going to be unsatisfied with the returns and the prevailing feelings around it will shift very quickly to "there's no point". It's a fairly complex system overall and if we can give players a bit of a safety net to jump in and try it without fear of bricking a character then that's ideal.
It varies based on player level, zone level, increased item rarity and item source. There is no one base chance. 50% is a very relatable number that is easy to quantify. We need that in player facing chance based things like this.
It could read "Affixes are more likely to be Exalted" and tell the player the same thing
Great answer! It's a fantastic system and truly innovative for the genre. Excited to see it play out and great to see you guys are happy to let people try be degenerates at their own expense if they want
Because you can play without it and then switch to it, you can compare that relative feeling so having a number does help you set reasonable expectations to how much more likely it is.
So let's try a more quantifiable example: If you get an item with a T1 affix can this perk upgrade it all the way to T6/7 if it triggers?
if the odds are low enough, then playing with it would require comparing 1000s of drops to even get close to an accurate feel. Otherwise it's just selection bias and basically a placebo effect (I got two exalted drops in one zone after getting this perk! it's amazing!)
it doesn't really work that way. it doesn't upgrade affixes
I see. So how exactly does it work then?
iirc the mechanics of it all is that when the system determines the item that can drop it has a set chance for it to roll with an exalted stat (lets say 10%)...taking this perk would essentially give you a 15% chance (not including any other modifiers)
I have to disagree. Maybe to a new player who is going in blind. Someone with a couple hundred hours in EA has a pretty decent, qualitative, overall idea for how that feels. Well, compared to extremes e.g. if it said either '10% more' or '300% more'. I know the 50% is not weak like the first example nor game-breaking like the second.
the really simple way to look at it is that if you drop x items, with y total exalted affixes without the stat, and then go drop those same x items with the stat, you'll get 1.5y total exalted affixes.
Time to go ask my friend in CT to spoil everything for me
So it's functionally a 50% rarity multiplier exclusively for exalted affixes?
essentially yes
im reading through the forum post atm and i may have missed it? or it wasnt mentioned? but what is the normal amount of times a prophecy can be used before you have to select another one? (also ty mike i know you are getting TONS of questions today <3)
Pretty sure it's a very low, variable number. I think that's what this is
ah ok yah i missed that xD ty 😄
sorry, what?
idk i was just looking at one of the pics people sent
this
it's the cap on what rank you need to use gear of a faction
It's probably something that nobody will do unless it's on purpose but what happens to items purchased trough the bazaar if both the player inventory and the gift inventory is full?
isnt that how many kills you need to get...not uses of the prophecy
That's the highest value that the faction rank requirements can go up to. If it was a minimum then nobody could use any CoF items until they hit rank5.
Think this means that you have to kill cremorus once, Ill try to find where the "charge" number is
yup, that's my bad
i guess to go with trista asking about the rank thing...am i right that if you gift it to a friend you are running with (or use the resonance on it) they have to be CoF rank 5 to use it yah? so keeping the max at 5 makes it easier/more fun to share gear with friends?
Number at the top is what you're looking for
perfect
oooooo ty cyborg
if the item has rank 5 then yea but items can still drop with lower rank req, even if you're rank 10
ok finished reading the post so should be my last question xD...if you buy something from the merchants guild "auction house" it becomes bound to you...can you "unbind" that per say by using a resonance and gifting it to a friend? if so would it now be bound to them?
If the item factions get well recieved once they're fully out will there be any variations beyond the base two? Like for example a faction which can only buy/sell crafting materials, faction which lets you PvP for items and such
There is no "binding" mechanic, yes you can resonance any equippable item
as toast said there is no binding. The act of purchasing an item from the bazaar, gives it a faction rank requirement (same as purchase req rank). You can then apply a resonance to that item and gift it that way.
ok guess i misread that...could have sworn it said it became bound to you my bad
It probably says something like "can't be traded" which feels an aweful lot like bound
yea, not the best wording to use
xD all good....im excited for all of this...yall did a good job on it!
😄
MG should just consider CoF to be tainted...eww, astrology all over those goods 😉
someone totally predicted this item would exist...gross
From the looks of it lore wise MG seems to be good friends with CoF so I think they just don't trade for their items out of respect :v
I like the headcannon more
It can also be "ew stars magic" lol
maybe CoF just bedazzles everything that drops and MG wont trade with it because it looks so tacky
nailed it
"Wait that item is just a rare with a "EXALTED" plaque on it..."
you kidding me, this is easy mode. You're all happy and engaging with the system. I'm not fighting off hordes of angry comments. Today has been a good day.
also kids on a good day are more work than this
trade debate flashbacks
Mike nailed it with the meme before the storm. Glad it hasn't been too rough actually!
absolutely FACTS on dealing with kids hahahha
so have you been asked what happens to our current chars on 1.0 release today
feels like tradition at this point to have that answered at least once a day
yup, answered it on reddit this morning
I just need the clip from a couple streams ago where I did a full explanation on it saved and ready to go
LOL
I was about to ask something but I'll save it for the dev stream, it's my little tradition
mike has there been any announcements on if we are getting more character slots for 1.0?
We didn't get the full change ready in time so it's not finished yet but yes, there will be a small number of extra slots for 1.0
oh thank god! xD!....had to make banker alts for all my keys 😉
that's a lot of keys
is key stacking coming with 1.0
sadly no
it really is a lot xD!!
Will there ever be a way to buy ingame currency with real money purchases
No.
Hard no.
Good, thanks Mike
and this is why i respect EHG so much
Gaining my respect also
🙂
I will be buying multiple supporter packs just because of that answer
if i had the money i 100% would too...like legit once yall did the cash shop change after getting feedback, in less than 24 hours, i knew yall were amazing
I have been playing games for many many years and it’s not very often you get a straight answer on these kinds of things
I very much respect that
We like to limit RMT posabilities as much as we can. We do know that we can't stop it 100% though so when those limiting efforts start to make the game worse for people who just play as expected, we back off. Overall I think we will be able to keep RMT to a level where it doesn't feel like it affects most players while keeping the efforts low key enough that you can't tell we are doing anything. I want us to seem like we're really lazy with it.
yah that is the sad nature of the beast...there will always be RMT in an online game that has trading...yall can just do your best to make it less appealing/slow it down...honestly from this breakdown of the factions, i think RMT will be a lot smaller in this game compared to any other
Two stash tabs per dungeon key and I gave up on arena keys lol, those things devour stash space
Thank god for cycles
When Mike doesn't respond with "maybe" or "I don't want to say no" you know he's dead serious
Which is a good thing. The game is b2p so it has no reason to include things like that
ok, hopping off for a while, I'll check back in for more questions before bed though
I would like to add that specifically hunting down RMT is often a waste of development resources.
The money that would be used to pay security experts to hunt down RMT is better spent elsewhere in most cases.
So the best course of action is to design the game in such a way that the impact of RMT is severely limited, which I feel like LE devs already doing.
The fact that you need favor AND trading is a one-way street already severly reduces the room for RMT
I agree that especially items only being tradeable once will kill a LOT of RMT.
Mike have you considered buying a stream deck and mapping each button to copy paste the answer to a commonly asked question
Game design question: When it comes to Merchant's Guild vs. Circle of Fortune, are the developers trying to strike a real balance between the two factions, or is it mostly just about providing an option which caters to the SSF playstyle?
its a balance. it was stated that depending on how the first season goes there could be changes in future seasons/patches
Devs make sure you drink water and stretch
hi ! the new trading factions are awesome but can I humbly ask Key stacking when plz? I have several stash tabs full of keys
I second the key stacking. Please for the love of god haha
my question is not support / bug related. It's about a feature in game
Click on the link and it takes you to the message where he says its not coming for 1.0
ah ok I thought you're sending me to another thread 😄 really sad it will not be in 1.0
We put out a lot of requests for feedback and a survey that got a statistically relevant number of replies. The community was so crazy evenly split on trade vs no trade. We were suspicious of the data at first it was so close.
The main goal of the item factions system is to provide an awesome, fun, smooth gameplay experience for both players who want and don't want trade.
We are not trying to perfectly balance the two. We don't expect an even split in participation. I think if we can hit 70/30 either way, I'll be pleased with that. My personal goal for the system is that when a new player arrives and says "what's better?" The general reply they get is "do you like trade or not?".
And to be clear CoF isn't SSF. We encourage CoF players to play together big time.
It's on the list
Any plans to buff/change/ or add new set items soon? Doesnt seem to be many end game builds that utilize much of them even though they are so rare especially with legendaries being a thing. Maybe give them LP?
What is the maximum amount of favor you can have?
And also, what rarity are non-unique idols? I'm assuming they fall under the golden resonance, but it doesn't explicitly mention them... I'm also assuming they can be resonanced, but I swear I saw that all equipment is valid to gift.
@real night is possible to get added to the streamer list? twitch is babblingbike
For yesterday's release of Merchant's Guild and Circle of Fortune can I only switch out of one to select the other? What if I wanted to drop out of both guilds in order to trade with my friend. I dropped out of the Merchant's Guild and they dropped out of Circle of Fortune. At this point we are not part of any guild/faction. Would I be able to use a non-guild symbol gear to gift to my friend using a Resonance... then hop back into my guild to continue my favor. Would that be hypothetically possible?
keep seeing people bring this up, but i havent heard it myself...are they decreasing drop rates on 1.0 to "balance" the factions coming?
You can always use resonance to pass items of any faction to anyone even if they are not of the same faction, but the equipment resiriction will carry over
there is no point being without guild, you can just be in MG and your drops will be without faction requirments
but I am talking about the current gear that doesnt have faction restrictions. Can that be traded too or is it only faction gear that will be traded moving forward with the update?
it can be traded, but as soon as u trade it on bazar it will get MG tag
Gear with no faction tags can be traded, as if you’re in MG (MG drops arent tagged)
yep no gear drops with MG tag
Is there a list of features being developed that's publicly available
Olethan @proper sundial pitänyt huolen, että pelin sisällä Suomi on mainittu ja torilla tavataan? 😉
Have you discussed the idea that by having trade be once for an item, items no longer trickle down? (You buy an item and sell it later when you surpass its power level)
So you see less items in the middle of the pack
Price wise
Like you’re less likely to buy leveling items
Question about trading and crafting - say I buy an item and do some crafting on it, does it still count as the same item(that is a traded item that cannot be resold anymore) for trade purposes?
It won't lose the MG tag so you won't be able to trade it again
I wonder if that would also apply to uniques turned legendaries? Kinda makes crafting for profit in trade not worth it or even non-existant
I play only ssf, so it doesn't affect me, but I worry of player retention
If either ingredient for the legendary is MG tagged then the legendary will be MG tagged
Basically one pass, nothing more.
Also if you craft a legend with a CoF and a non tagged it becomes CoF
Trying to craft an CoF item with a MG item is denied.
Crafting with two non-tagged stays as non-tagged
Now I'm curious to what percentage of players will join each faction once 1.0 drops. I hope devs will share those stats
That was in their research before they dropped the details on how the system works. Now that details are out, I think it might greatly affect people's decision
Guess we'll find out soon, devs are targetting a 70/30 split of either direction
With stash tabs resetting every cycle, are there plans to be able to past some code that will organize them? to keep the same logic coherent through cycles? (folders, names, hierarchy, icons, colors, etc)
We won't give them LP. Long story. We have a plan for set items to make them a relevant, interesting and unique component of itemization at several stages. For now, they are as they are. Some have received some minor changes to help.
idols are a valid gift, I'm not sure which one they actually fall under. technically I think they are magic items due to the number of affixes? or maybe their rarity is just "idol"
No, we used to maintain a rolling roadmap but because our plans change so frequently, we found that it was causing us to consider less than ideal options. We give more broad picture stuff coming in the immdiate future though. So the current roadmap is item factions, warlock and falconer.
Sounds good thanks
Sorry if this was already asked, but what is the situation with faction gear and newly created characters? A lot of what I and my friends do in LE is hoard interesting drops, then when we have the skeleton of a new build, we make a new character to play it.
In this new system, if gear is tagged with faction ranks, the character will have to get to the end of the campaign to unlock factions, then rank up to be able to use those items, instead of being able to use them at any time like it is currently.
Are there any thoughts for adding a consumable rep modifier for alts to the highest rank of either faction to help with this, or is a system in place to help with this? Or am I misunderstanding the new system?
yes, we have considered this. Given that you need to interact with the trade system to advance in it, as you are advancing, you are interacting with all the other players who are also advancing it. This should keep the stock fairly decent.
Faction ranks are shared across chars. It's account wide.
Once you have a character in a faction, characters that share a stash with that character will be able to join a faction earlier in the campaign
Yes but it's not ready yet.
Oh I thought they were character specific. So it's not possible to dabble in both parts of the game with different characters.
You can. Just have one in CoF and one in MG.
alts can join the faction when you get to the very first town and share progress with every character that it shares a stash with
The 'progress' is account wide
Even if you swap factions with the same char the faction rank will stay
oh thanks. was watching Mcfluffin's video and he mentioned it was in Act9. that changes things greatly.
Act 9 is for the first char, as is tradition to get people to clear campaign at least once per cycle
the 1st character per stash group is chapter 9, rest are chapter 1
If I missed a question in that list, I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional.
