harbinger of dust node in the lower left of the tree stacks with itself and is applied by both the entry and exit void rifts if you take those nodes, so thats 60% more damage right there

VR is better off than Vengeance to gain back all that mana from Judgement
yeah, so harbinger of dust causes them to take 30% more damage, but stacks, and you can cause 2 void rifts per volatile reversal, so thats 60%, and its possible to get the cooldown very low, so that you actually get to use it a second time and stack it to 120%
but getting the cooldown that low requires taking the node that removes the mana recovery

I try to play with the controller as much as possible, so having a wway to see that without moving to my keyboard to hit the keys would just be a good QoL thing... not strictly necessary for me to enjoy the game... in all honesty, the loot filters and 200 stash tabs alone throw this game lightyears beyond D4 😄

Will consecrating aura see the buffs granted by sigils before it consumes them?
Active sigils have active buffs. So if those buffs are active when the aura is created, then yes

correct, all base and adaptive damage will be void, but the added fire will remain fire
though you should check the exact wording of the conversion because there are some oddball ones out there

sooo jelkhors blast knife changes a bow skill to a melee skill, which is tied to the marksman mastery, which is mostly bow dmg

there's just enough in marksman that works with melee

A fire skill can't ignite if you have 0% ignite chance

Flat increases always apply
Don't think of the bow doing the damage, think of the skill doing the damage with the bow
So your skill will do whatever damage it does plus another 5 lightning damage

experimental affixes can be sealed a lot easier with the rune (of research)? otherwise just treat them as a non-upgradable affix
seald affixes are basically a 5th bonus affix that can't be added to legendary potential uniques. so you can use it to get a junk stat out of the way of adding the affix you really want, or to make a much stronger item with and additional affix
otherwise experimental items are treated exactly like magic/rare/exalted, even if they dont look like exalted, they can still be used in the temporal sanctum with legendary potential uniques

so I just got "Barrage" for my "Detonating Arrow" ability, and it says the explosion will be in a cone be hind the target. I am seeing the cone in the front of the target when I use it, like the guy is running bodily at me, I shoot him, and the cone extends out toward me, not in the direction I am aiming, or out of the target's back. Am I misunderstanding what Barrage is meant to do, or is this a bug?

so, sans-quiver... my puncture says 461 DPS. I have a quiver with an implicit 29% increased bow damage, and an affix for 12% increased bow damage. That looks like +41% bow damage. 461*1.41=650. But equipping the quiver only puts DPS up to 524. What am I doing wrong?
those increased damage stats are not just additive with each other, they're additive with all the increased damage stats everywhere else
other items, passives, the attribute scaling on the skill...
so you can't accurately calculate the effect that quiver would have on your dps unless you know the values of all of those
ah, so just multiplying by 1.41 was making that new bonus multiplicative with the rest, instead of applying it additively like it should be'

Yeah. Couple people have since hotfix. Verify integrity of steam files seems to have fixed it for them

It's a good catch all for problems
The smallest hiccup on Steam or with your internet connection can cause a game breaking bug when you're downloading a patch - this is why it's good practice to verify after every update on all games not just ours!
Now, consider how many players only come to the Discord when they have an issue and that we have to ask to do this before we continue to triage and yeah - we made a sticker 😅
We've investigated this before - I can't speak too much to it as it's waaay beyond my knowledge, but it has to do with how Steam patches very large files, and sometimes it doesn't quite get it right on those really big files. IIRC there wasn't much we could do about it at the time though it's something we might try to poke again in the future as it's most certainly not the best UEX.
Yeah, this issue is a thing for all software. The problem lies in the installing thingy (Steam here) not properly validating successfulness.

Early it's hard because you don't have much. But if you play for awhile, you'll have hundreds of all of the common affixes. I just do the class specific ones I'm interested in and the less common ones that I want to use like say Hybrid Health.

Hi, played the game around 2 years ago and picking it back up now to see the changes and improvements. Kinda forgot how lot of things work so im sortof starting from scratch. Is it recommended to use "levelling builds" until a point I reach the endgame where I can farm some build-defining uniques? I plan on following a build guide anyway like the last time i played.
You don’t have to. The only thing to keep in mind when starting fresh is how hard is it to gear the character. For example the squirrel build requires a rare unique helmet
I'm guessing the levelling builds on maxroll or the SFF builds on last epoch tools would have characters that require little to no uniques?

Graphics in d4 are actually quite nice. Game play is fun in season two. Season one felt like we all paid to be a massive beta test for them tho 😂. But end game gets boring fast once you reach 100, beat all the pinnacle monsters for the ancestral unique gear drops and then beat Lilith. After that it is just endless loop of either nightmare dungeons or helltide farming (D4). That’s what lead me here to LE and so far I’m just blindly exploring the game without a guide 😊

it isn't that bad...it is classic vanilla diablo...same with D3... endgame is limited but thats always been the case....you get the gear, you beat the bosses...it isn't designed to play constantly, the idea was you do the season, you do X amount of content, you move on.... Vanilla D3 was horrific... once we get a few seasons in, picks up from S3 onwards...
If anyone here remembers Diablo 3 Season 1, was double loot goblins.... 😐 there is more to do now in S2...and will be more to do soon with Abbatoir
in fariness season 1 wasn't even that bad...it was just extremely slow with even less limited endgame... the problem with the world today is social media... people forgot how bad Diablo 3 was on launch...we didn't have a seson in D3 for coming up to a year after launch.. D3 got good with ROS....
with anything... go into something with 0 expectations, you cannot be disappointed, you can only be pleasantly surprised 🙂

Bonus corruption is the "catch up" mechanic. So, you get it on your lower corruption monoliths if you have one at higher corruption.

Correct, so like here you have that one at 157c, so your monolith at 100c gets bonus so you can catch up to the other a little faster

Hello everyone!
Returning player here, I played back in april of this year with a couple of friends, and we really liked the game, but we lost interest since we couldn't play the game together; When we where in a multiplayer game together and everyone was using the abilities, we got immense lag and rubberbanding, to the point where 1 of our party members was asked to not use 2 of his abilities, since it made the game completely freeze.
We've been talking about revisiting the game once 1.0 hits, but after I've been searching a bit online and in here about this topic, I haven't found any documented changes to improve the multiplayer experience, in fact I would say what I found is quite the opposite, and it actually sounded like the game is worse in multiplayer now, than when we played.
Now obviously that may be the experience of 1 individual, and doesn't necessarily reflect the entire player base, but I actually struggled to find anyone talking positive about the game as a multiplayer experience. So here I am, asking for what you guys' experience is with multiplayer? Is the lag/wait time really that bad?

everyone knows that multiplayer is playable now with at most 2 people(and even then not always, depending on your location) and devs also know about these issues and working on them

Yes, but I found it in a weird spot of my stash. Search your stash for it (every tab), it might be somewhere in there. If not, check your forge and gift inventories.

So I loaded up an old character, level 16, and I'm at the quest where I help the Welryn citizens. Given the semi-recent Act 1 update, how do I get my specialization? Do I just keep trucking? This character is from before the update so idk if I should just scrap the character.

It's added based on the listed damage effectiveness (I don't remember off the top of my head, but it's on the tooltip)

It scales with whatever attributes the tooltip says (I think it might be both attunement and strength?)

It should apply like any increased modifier, after added stuff is applies to the base stat

Which one of these values is referring to an affix being sealed? this was a glove I sealed a while back before I knew you could put experimental affix on uniques. I want to undo the seal, and just fun practice to see and understand these item arrays. if you are willing to settle for a 5 for now, there is a convoluted but reliable way to craft it. requires an exalted prefix base
exalted prefix that is highest affix. both suffix same tier, and a sealed T2+ affix, that gets you a T4 when you use the glyph on the other prefix
have to juggle the TAT to make sure you get the hp->ward, and count the sealed affix tiers in your math
if you have an exalted prefix gloves, I can walk you through calculating the TAT part. the 5th tier is unkown, but I suspect its TAT > 20

I've just started playing a little while ago so maybe this is a dumb question but can I decrease corruption? I've just gotten to the monolith yesterday and I see that after a bit I get to a node where I can get +4 corruption in exchange for a new map. I assume if I keep doing this, eventually I'm going to hit a wall, as it were? I also assume that if I dont take that node I am going to run out of map so is it even really a choice?
Yes there's methods to decrease corruption.
Also don't raise corruption in normal monoliths, they have a cap of 50, while empowered starts at 100
THey have a cap of 50 corruption.
Empowered monoltihs start at a base of 100 corruption instead, and is easily unlockable (Clearing all 3 lv90 monoliths)
