If both rules would hide an item then yes, it doesn't matter which is first. If one rule would hide an item then it only gets applied if it's the top one.
So I'm a bit confused as to why one would have 2 different rules that might hide the same item.
Because one hides wands and the other hides blue/white items
If they were the same rule it would only hide blue/white wands
ok
When an item says this for example per Lastepochtools.com:
Do I need to be L78 or the enemy NPCs or both??
Requires level means area/enemy level. Effective level for LP is just a weighting for LP rarity (higher = rarer)
And you do need to be that level to equip it
Ok, thanks. Is it even possible to get the normal monolith (The Stolen Lance) to L78 by increasing the corruption? Every time I try to do a unique node at Legendary level I get wrecked and lose the rewards.
I don't remember the max you can increase area level by corruption, but I don't think it's possible to go that high - those "unique or set X" nodes' spawn rates are based on corruption, so it's generally not worth farming for those on normal mode
Ok, thanks for the advice
if you have issues with farming lvl 100 monolith then something is not right with your build for sure, try asking in class channels
almost every decent build usually shreds lvl 100 mono and up to 200 corruption easily
i got home and was able to fix it and it worked thank you guys @native sail @balmy current
Last time I tried to farm L100 I was L86 and I am using this build guide. https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/build-guides/hungering-souls-lich-guide
Guess I am just not good. 💀
I liked this Lich build more than the Hungering Souls one https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/build-guides/death-seal-lich-guide
If you wanted to give it a try.
Also still on my first playthrough, so learning a lot as I go through LE.
I also tried the Marrow Shards one https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/build-guides/marrow-shards-lich-guide but I didn't enjoy trying to aim it
I was doing better I felt with Transplant over Soulfeast slotted. Problem is I do not do enough damage and the modifiers get me every time I try to do a unique node.
I'll give the Death Seal Lich a shot. It's very similar to my current build.
Yeah all of those 3 Lich builds are pretty similar. It was easy to respec and try them all.
Does anyone know if the Master Archer nodes in Marksman that imcreaes multishot arrows have impact if I have the Heavy Arrows node? (3 arrows max).
Or for example, Ancient flight?
Heavy Arrows will lock it, so master archer won't do anything.
Thanks for that
Quick Question; Does Lighting blast and Elemental Nova scale with Crit Chance or Spell Crit Chance? Thanks in advance 🙂
Both.
Are there any stuff or skills that autocasts maelstorm
There is but I heard they're dogshit, there's an idol affix that does it.
Idols, unique amulet
Now for the important question:
Do their chances stack together or do they roll independently
The problem is you never get a lot of stack, it's nice if you want to do single stack maelstrom, but who want that
That's is a very good question
IF they stack so that you can do 100% 1 stack per 5 seconds then it isn't TERRIBLE
If they don't then it becomes a fucking rollercoaster.
Can you test?
I wish, the only primalist I have is a Beastmaster
Ok I need this
I'd strongly assume so, since they're an identical stat just from different sources
How fast can you guys go through campaign for the idols/passives on a new char for echos? Deciding if I wanna start a rogue tonight and got like 2 hours
not in 2 hours for me but also not much longer than that
Logic wise yeah, but I've been proven wrong on logic before
By not much longer do you mean beyond 4 hours or no
honestly could not tell you without doing it again right now and keeping track, just anecdotal.
For me it's just "pretty fast" which is neither what you asked nor helpful to you rn, sorry 😦
It’s ayt man thanks for taking the time to reply! Any help is appreciated
The % chances add together
Idk if it stacks beyond 100%, but I assume not
@robust mortar can you link me your warpath smite build?
isit like whirlwind/cyclone in other games? im new.
Hey guys I havent been updated for a while, but have they mentioned atleast an estimate launch for 1.0?
The team is aiming to launch 1.0 this year!

Most likely end of year since they mentioned that already, but no dates-
For sure dude, let me put it on last epoch tools and then I will get it your way (I work a 12hr shift today so it might be tomorrow when it get it to you)! I am not following a guide for it just going off of what feels good. Yes it’s pretty much like a cyclone build in POE!
For the last 2 days I have been getting constant crashes in LE. Right now I can't even start the game. I tried checking the game's files integrity, to no avail. What should I do? Submit a ticket?
Make sure steam and your graphics drivers are up to date too - are you getting any error messages when it crashes?
There is an error message box, but it is empty
Steam is uptodate, I'll check my drivers..
Can you grab me a screenshot of the empty box? I'm wondering if it's from Steam or from the game 🤔
Looking at the player log, it seems like it is an Unity error... Resources not being found. I am currently reinstalling drivers and game, I will let you know if it works afterwards...
great link/ping me when you could. cu ✌️
Oh I've seen this! Let me discord and forum dive quickly!
This Forum thread has a variety of potential solutions - https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/unity-crash-when-after-0-9-when-trying-online-play/52526/17
It's also worth looking up 'Steam Unity Crash' just incase it's an issue through Steam!
Maybe it will help somebody else. I spend some time trying reinstall a lot of stuff and couldn’t get past menu, character screen or even crash a lot of times at the start of the game. I see you are creator of that topic and you guide me to solution of my problem then i am thankful to you for that =)
Alright, thanks, I will have a look if I have any further issues!
https://maxroll.gg/last-epoch/planner/nu01044g
Cheers! Here is what I am feeling for final passives and skills! I don’t have any equipment in there but that should give you a good start, if you have any questions let me know!
Maxroll covers Last Epoch Build Guides, Leveling Guides, Tierlists, Monolith, Dungeons, Bosses, News and has a Character Build Planner.
thanks alot mate. ill check it out soonish .
🤘🏻
Does anyone know how long support usually takes to answer?
7-10 business months
4 minutes and 3 seconds
now pick somewhere inbetween those two and that's a proper answer 😛
Just wondering game says im in ch 5, but the checklist in letools says this area is ch 7?
I heard Rogue got nerfed quite a bit in 0.9, but I never got to play it when it was "strong." What do you guys think of its current state?
blade dancer still has some very OP builds
marksman is still pretty good but the tree is annoying and black arrows are still a giga meme (not that either of those are new to 0.9)
The reactions to the nerfs were greatly exaggerated. Rogue (Bladedancer more than Marksman) is still incredibly good. BD is by far one of the strongest specs in the game when done right.
Do you have a couple build links that highlight it? I'm curious what the playstyle even looks like.
(fucking laptop, sorry)
I don't have any on hand that aren't my own nonsense creations for fun which will not perform, but there are many online and Leo (who frequents #💬┃general) is the resident BD corruption pusher. Commonly used main skills are Shurikens (specced for Chakram), Shadow Cascade, Umbral Blades, and Lethal Mirage (this one is less common because it's cooldown based and requires a lot more setup)
Does he post content or guides?
Not that I am aware of but he has posted planners several times of what he is playing and what is better than what he is playing
I tend not to like planners because they generally use gear I won't see for a long time and the info I'm interested in is more along what skills they use, how they spec it, what synergies they play on, and what stats to prioritize
You may find something along the lines of what you're looking for on YouTube or the builds section of LETools, but odds are they will be a little rough around the edges as most things made for showcases and guides are really not entirely optimized due to the time investment it takes to get anywhere close to minmaxing in LE
Hi there, whats up?
Hmmm, not sure on that one. Do you have a link to the LETools page I can check?
Why does Shadow Cascade have 10% Base Critical Strike Chance, when almost every other skill in the game has 5% Base Crit? Why isn't this information located in game (yet)?
World's greatest mysteries!
Playing a Bladedancer that (finally) doesn't rely on Shadow Daggers for damage was so much fun to build. This build has a high gear ceiling with ...
Perry's version but basically the same
I was looking how to merge my game to steam. Support answered me after 10 minutes and my problem was solved.
Fantastic! Glad it was sorted for you! And,
Thank you. Looking forward to see what has changed since I played it in 2020
Well, the answer is a lot 😅 Let me know if you would like some links other players have found useful 🙂
I am that same way, like I want to know more about the leveling of the character because from there I can figure out the end game! I plan on starting a blademaster here soon and I am going to be recording and posting the progress for that reason!
Cool. Yeah, I don't like "endgame builds" in the sense of having everything pre-planned out because games that don't have clear endpoints for itemization or efficient methods for target farming mean that understanding the process to get there is more important than the actual details of that plan.
So true. Plus i feel if you learn/understand the process you are able to adapt and repeat it for other builds.
#BDSuperiorty!
The good thing about LE is how easy it is to respec if you don't like something 🙂
I personally haven't used a single guide or loot filter yet and only hit my first wall at a Ch8 Boss fight - I am now runnign Echoes while I 'fix' my build, still no guides though I am getting advice from #💬┃general occasionally 😊
Hello everyone o/, dunno if this is asked before or if i am the only one stoppid to not get this; What is ment by stats on this item on the gloves julra's Obsession? (soz for my bad english)
True! That is something I have enjoyed a lot about LE is how easy it is to respec something mid game. You don't have to completely restart a character to rebuild it which is * click * noice!
Anything that's on the gloves will apply to minions as if the affixes had "minion" on them.
Eg: If you give it "chance to blind on hit", it would also be "Minion chance to blind on hit"
Tysm for the reply, so if i would get a +50 spell dmg for minions or +50 cast speed for totems would ALL my minions get that affix, so i have 11 minions, would that be 11 X +50 spell dmg for minions?
Your minions EACH will get +50 spell damage.
With your example.
👍 ty for the answer.
does the druid 70% damage reduction upon leaving transformed state apply to changing to any form, or just into human?
Hmm, I'm not sure. It does say, "When leaving a transformed state". That sounds like it says when going from something back into human. If you don't get anyone in here who knows for sure, you can also ask in #👨┃ask-the-devs-not-support-no-bugs
I've always interpreted it as "only going to human" but I wanted to make sure
there's no icon that appears or other way to check in game
There's other talents, like Shapeshifter, that just say "when you transform"
it'd be massively OP if it was into any form
I'd have a near permanent 70% damage reduction if that was the case
Well, if you were constantly shifting between forms every couple of seconds
"Leaving a transformed state" could just mean leaving any form other than human. We'd have to ask a dev or test it (unless we can find a dev response from the past).
I don't think it would be massively OP. It would be mega-clunky.
mega clunky transforming every 3 seconds? then add warcry's 1 second invulnerability?
only transforming back into human, just tested
If i wanna increase frostbite dmg, should I target overall dot/ele dot dmg or increase attunement to leverage the Chitin sleet storm node (attunement boost freeze rate multi) as a druid/swarm blade + snowdrift boots
You'll need both, alongside application chance and attack speed. If you have a total of 600% penetration, it's basically the same as 600% increased damage, so usually whatever you have the least of you want more of that (unless the thing you have more of you can just get a lot more of for the same cost).
Good to know! Seems like it easier to stack ele/dot dmg if
5% FRM =1% cold pen = 1% increased dmg
So with the Chitin Sleet node maxed out -
+1 attunement = 30% FRM = %6 cold own = %6 increased frostbite damage
I'm trying to do a respec to remove a point, and it won't let me remove the last point in Wraith Bringer. Am I missing some reason why I cannot?
You have a node relying on it from what I can see.
I get that it's a link to Spirit Link on the bottom left, but I also have the prereq Delay the End to the right of that which should unlock it too.
Nope. That one isn't linked to anything.
Ohhhh, oops, I needed to look farther, I see it now. I don't have Grave Reality which leads to that node.
.< My bad.
There were yellow lines on both side, and I totally missed it was 0/2.
All good, happens to everyone at some point
Is it possible to play while my internet is down? Looks like I still need to ping the server to play offline.
Hmm, interesting. Guess I won't be playing until my internet is back haha. Thanks for the fast response!
Attunement will most likely apply 4% increased damage per point to your frostbites in addition to the FRM/penetration. I think all the swarmblade skills scale with attunement.
hello, may I ask if the bone curse still work with hungering soul?
cause I don't see the hunger soul hit recasting bone curse, according to the Cursed Limb node
its possible to hotspot from your phone to log in, then turn the hotspot off and play an offline character
Yes, it does. It has a much shorter recast duration if you take the 'always crit' node.
I can't seem to find a Flame Reave / Firebrand / Enchant Weapon ignite build anywhere, but the concept I'm trying seems to make sense. Exothermic (Firebrand) + Flare, attack 3-4 times, Flame Reave with Slash & Burn (and whatever else sounds good, maybe more aoe), into Searing Conflagration from Enchant Weapon... I'm only level 50-something, but can pile on about 50 stacks before I detonate it. Seems alright, just not sure how well it will scale later.
Anyone tried this sort of build and have some pointers/caveats I should know about?
does the flame wraith scale with tag minion necrotic dam?
Flame Wraiths deal fire damage inherently. You can give them necrotic damage from a few sources but increased minion necrotic damage will only scale the necrotic, not all of their damage
thanks, so best scale is still on minion dam & minion fire dam
How's your oppinion on the Blind Fury mode, flame wraith build
40% cast speed exchange for halves crit chance, worth or not
Halves here = decreased 50%, right?
Absolutely not worth it. You want 100% crit on them
I have cryomancer node on skeleton mages but can't seem to summon them, just summoning skeleton mages
It should be shared between, unless you got something else, show your skill spec.
Mhm, this should make it so half your total skele mages are normal ones and the other half are cryo.
relogged and working, maybe every time i add points i need to relog
Good point - I stacked attunement + dot damage and now I'm melting things.
If I have two dread shades, do any of their buffs from aura stack?
Congregation of Shades allows you to have Maximum Shades +1, but I don't know if that would double the necrotic damage, or attack/cast speed buffs I have it giving.
I've done that before. It works out well enough
Doesn't use a terrible ampunt of data
I am 99% sure auras don't stack
Based on previous answers in Discord - Dread Shade auras don't stack, only one set of buffs per minion
Did you know that you could cast 5 dread shades unspecced?
That just makes it 6.
The only reason you mostly see one dread shade is that most people take the limit to 1 but double its duration and convert hp drain to damage taken
Because it's basically the best node
Thanks for the advice. :D
Oh, that's good to know, thanks!
yeah, unless you are actively trying to kill your minions at least, because that's what dread shade will do otherwise
how is monolith progress shared between chars? i have some waypoints unlocked but some arent
It's not
oh, weird then, cause my alt can access black sun, but i never went there
Hmm not sure but monolith progress is per character, unless something changed
maybe it picked up the waypoint when i joined my friend
That is more likely
Yep, only way to pick up waypoints or unlock monos without grinding through it yourself is by joining a party. The fact that this can be trivially done by partying means that hopefully we'll get the unlocking part shared between characters eventually... we can dream, at least.
any way to skip campaign on an alt?
There''s a way to fast track campaign via T1 dungeons.
But you'll still need to do side quests for the 15 points and the idol slots.
okay 😦
Is there a way to try for an idol with a specific modifier? I have a build that wants me to get some +flame wraith% chance stuff, and I've only found one so far and need a second. But I don't have the slightest idea how to raise my chances of getting one.
There are blessing to Inc your chances to get specific shapes of idols.
If you know which one you need you should grab that
Otherwise there no way to "force" an affix on an idol
Make sure you do all the idols echoes
Like these kind of blessings?
That's a good point. I'll work towards idol echoes. Thanks for the tip. ^^
It's adorned
So the blessing for that is in fall of the outcast
thats a nasty idol also
Yep
Yeah! That idol is perfect for the build I'm trying to do (the explody skeleton one)
If I could get another, that'd be real sweet
Looks like Fall of the Outcasts has the Sight of the Outcasts blessing which increases drop chance for large idol
There is a lot of blessing available per timeline
It's not just 3?
Ohhh.. the undiscovered blessings changes for each area! I didn't realize I could unlock more blessings than the 3 it gave me a choice for when I completed a timeline..
You are offered 3/4/5 after beating the timeline
But there are roughly 10 per timeline
I really appreciate all this help. ❤️
Is there a way to get it to offer me another choice to be able to pick up that adorned bonus?
I just went till I finished the timeline, got the choice, and then moved on to the next.
Beat the boss again
My highest level is 75, so I'm a bit newb still. ^^;
I'll start working on that then, thank you!
Aha! That should at least help! Thank you for the advice. ^^
similar to how endurance scales with lifepool, does Health regen do the same? like is there an flat % life regen by default?
just tested, nop
there's an flat 16 life per second i think but doesn't scale with life
No it doesn't
It might be worth mention that whatever hp regen you can get does scale nicely with defensive layers, though. Even just the dmg rdx from Endurance means that each point of healing is effectively that much stronger.
Is this good enough to build around?
https://i.imgur.com/OoXGpDV.png
I have seen quite a few people building with it, pretty successfully
Jelkhors builds are very fun
i kind of feel like regen would be beat by health leech pretty badly thouugh
i'm thinking maybe i should focus more on health stacking and maybe mana stacking as well, and get an damage taken from mana chest piece
like if i go the vessle of strife way i feel like there's so many affixes that goes into health regen and it won't scale my endurance treshold
i will probably end up trying both, depends on what i find
i've thought of investing more into armor as well, but there's just so much one man can do
Whichever one heals you most effectively is what scales better. I'm more saying that defensive layers apply to "effective healing" in the same multiplicative fashion that they do to eHP.
sustain isn't really my worry, all that worries me are oneshots
though health regen is really really nice on huge damage chunking as well, just not as effective against an actual oneshot
Well, sustain = 0 vs one-shots, lol
yeah xD gotta have increased pool and DR for an actual oneshot
but i might be worrying about the oneshot a bit too much and that sustain is more important, there's not so many instances of oneshots usually so far
this game does this dilemma really well, everything feels like an balance rather than an one stop shop for each defensive layer, like i can't have everything, and that makes it cool
though if i go the Manashield way i'm also gonna need more mana regen, though my builds already needs a lot of it, i still need more
i think i should just play and whatever i find i'll make use of
I think what some players do is go with a little less defense, a little more sustain, and try to include some mobility to dodge mechanics that can one-shot since most of those are pretty avoidable. Basically, they overcome gear deficiency through player skill. The other big piece of this is to make sure to cap your incoming crit chance reduction to avoid random one-shots that aren't so avoidable.
oh, true, that's also an good stat to have
yeah i kinda feel like getting a bit of everything is a good way to go, it might not fully protect me against oneshots, but it will make me very durable on sustain, and mobility is very good as well, having good movement speed and also Teleport is really good
this game is just really good at making you have to make choices, and every choice makes an impact
No, your base health regen only scales with your level
i think the one advice i would give to any new player, something i learnt from my first char and my second is that if you're stuck wondering about gear upgrades and sitting in town trying to craft and fix your gear a lot, it's better to just keep on grinding mobs cause you're bound to find some GG piece of gear eventually that'll make everything click
oh with level?
cool
oh and having proper item filters set up for what you're looking for as well, makes everything go by faster, less looking at items and more just killing things
Yeah, they are really strong in my experience, and really common with low LPL, so easy to get a couple good legendary ones to dual wield
(relatively easy, I mean)
If you're able to continue dealing damage, yes. I've run a few shattered lance builds (scales health regen for damage) and I can say at high investment regen is very strong and definitely saved me quite a few times.
yeah i imagine getting stunned with just leech for sustain could be bad, especially since it stops while at full life
i had 50% of my health regen per sec on my other char and it was really amazing
i'm just not gonna worry too much xD
but yeah regen will be my focus for now as i work my way towards empowered monoliths again
Leech doesn't stop at full life in this game btw, each stack just lasts for a duration
3 secs exactly.
either way, I think not worrying too much is a good strategy
yeah, 3s or less if you have leech rate
This is why Death Seal Liches' Hp can go from 33% to 100% in the 5 frames Death Seal goes down.
Has anyone gotten the most recent patch 0.9.1 to work on steam deck?
I just keep getting an error that steam is required
That... sounds like a very oddly specific issue, I assume you verified your game files?
Yeah I just keep getting the steam is required message although I’m launching from steam
Nvm a restart fixed it
Whack, good to know turning it on and off again worked.
Was there a dev stream yesterday??
Yes, there won't be one next week though
Any major teasers??
Nope, just dome visual update teasers
Dome???
Some
Ahhhh makes sense
Oh yes it is, best get 2 tho... and I got around the defensive problems with using Mountain boots & Endurance but there are many many ways to get it to work. Just be warned, the janky melee range issue for converted DA (its annoying to play around) isnt live/fixed on 0.9.1d3 - its apparently coming in the next patch.
Oh yeah for sure, the melee range is really tiny. Thankfully it's fast and deals a ton of damage which lets you stun most things before they are able to get any hits off on you. The instant cone explosion and chain lightning nodes are super valuable for improving that feel.
yeah.. I didnt go cone (more dps the other way imo), and chain lightning helps tremendously but you do have to stutter step sometimes to actually initiate a hit - and thats not great when you push higher corruption etc.
You can squeeze a slight amount of dps by using the arming time stuff, doesn't seem worth it, but I didn't mess with it too much
Thanks for the tip. I'll hild off until I find a second one then. If I'm going to build around it, at least make sure the critical part is there, ya?
Is Forge Guard still meme or does it have good builds besides Man Armor now?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
no.
It's at least a usable meme.
Oh also, some shield throw builds work.
I hope they fix it up more before 1.0 then. Thematically, I love it.
I assume you clicked on the non-rock part of the bridge already? If you did, try a relog
Im a new player, and I hope I dont trigger anyone with this question but... is it on purpose that the UI looks SOOO much like Path of Exile?
I hate PoE btw. But everything from UI to item design seems extremely similar? was this on purpose or its just something that people try not to talk about?

I don't think the UI is all that similar personally. If you have some evidence I could be swayed ofc. As far as the itemization I think that LE and Poe use some similar damage mechanic systems a la increased damage, more damage, but beyond that I think their item design philosophies are pretty different.
Really?. I mentioned I hate PoE because Im not saying this like Im mad they copied PoE or anything, I couldnt care less, and its not a bad UI at all, but everywhere I look, its almost copypasted from PoE. From the HP Pool to the look of the items, the inventory, the cosmetics inv, I dunno, everywhere I look, it reminds me of PoE.
The core gameplay and combat feel that arises out of the different itemization decisions and mechanics is pretty different too. Poe is just run as fast as you can and kill everything before it moves for 99% of the content. The mana mechanics here alone necessitate very different gameplay overall
Its not a bad thing per se, it just surprised me. Tbh I would prefer it they said "yeah we love PoE and we took inspiration from it" rather than "what? similar? what do u mean? u crazy."
I mean health globe is a health globe. Idk how to truly differentiate that. But beyond that I don't see much similarity at all. To each their own I guess 🙂
I mean they both do take inspiration from D2 IIRC
it even has the blue glow lmao
I played D2 for 10 years, played Remastered when it came out, and tbh none of them remind me of d2 :p
Nothing else in that UI is at all similar to LE though. How else would you represent and energy shield over the characters "life force"
the inventory is very similar, the 2nd inventory for cosmetics is pretty much copypasted, the shop is similar.
Most ARPGs do the same inventoru
For example? because I believe I played them all, from D2R, D3, D4, TL2 and 3, Van Hellsing Final Cut, Grim Dawn, Wolcen etc etc and never seen such similarities.
How is the inventory similar? Because they are both grids of squares? The UI details are completely different iirc, been a while since I played Poe. Also, in that case, d2 has the exact same UI for inventory too right?
TL2 had the same inventory management

This seems kinda silly lol
I don't actually know, and honestly I couldn't care less
I still call this PoE Lite if I need to explain this game in 2 words-
Im not talking about the functionality of having slots, Im talking about how it looks, but ok, it must be me XD
Yeah IDK man, I don't see it lol
I've been bouncing between both and I don't feel it as much TBH
There are base building blocks that EVERY single arpg uses for UI, because you kinda have to. Beyond that, I see very little to no similarity
When I started playing LE I just got off a bent of PoE and it felt very very different to me
still, just starting a ranger (bought it a long time ago but was waiting for multiplayer, just now I have some time to start) and the game looks amazing. and honestly the gameplay feels LESS clunky than PoE's
like in the middle between poe's clunkiness and Diablo
that bar isn't very high to be fair
I like LE's pace a lot more. I feel like I actually get to see enemies attack patterns and moves
D2 clod is a very clunky game haha.
I just happen to have enough nostalgia to like that
yeah, was comparing it to D3 which is still the top tier smooth gameplay for me
I couldn't really get into D3
D3 is too smooth though imo
in last epoch, I can recognise enemy types, know what big mob's attack patterns are, and strategize around that. In Poe I say DEATH OR GLORY IM RUNNIN' IN and what happens happens
You don't have to do...anything or think about...anything
I played D2 way too much but tried Remastered and couldnt stomach it for more than a season, that game did not age well
Also this probably isn't the best channel for this continued discussion 🙂
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Both games are in the same genre so it's not surprising if the UI, etc are similar.
I'm trying to fill out a bug report. How do I collect a game log?
Thank you. This should probably be added to the bug repoting guide.
I think the UI is a lot closer to D3, personally. That said, there are just some common expectations from ARPG players:
- Health bubble on the left
- Mana bubble on the right
- Action bar in the middle
- All of these at the bottom
- Minimap in a corner
- Quest tracker and hand-holding arrows to make sure you don't have to think to progress while you conveniently skipping all the quest dialogue and make the voice acting moot

Secondary health shields are usually blue or yellow
map overlay or bust
When you build around this, is your itemization more like that of a caster, but with melee attack speed, life on hit, and debuff procs?
https://i.imgur.com/J8grWnE.png
Is the melee dmg portion something to be worth focusing on?
Also, are the Smites from this proc free, or does it act like the MS node itself?
https://i.imgur.com/sjTPSHI.png
The tags for MS and Smite have no overlap. Seems like you build more for the proc, ya?
Oh
Time to bring this up again
Why does it use Javelin in a MS build?
Oh, this isn't a MS build. This is a smite build.
But related since it DUAL WIELDS aurelis.
Oh, got ya
It seems weirdly invested in Block too, but I only see 7% from passives
And how would it use Shield Bash without a shield?
Ah, okay
I'm super not familiar with Sentinel, so I don't know all it's power nodes yet
Yeah, I realized when you were questioning javelin.
Sentinel has like 4 traversal options lol
Ironic that Juggernaught makes Shield Bash so good for anyone not using a shield, lol
Yeah, you ARE the shield
I’m thinking about buying this game. Diablo 4 has some serious balancing issues.
The building is complicating on d4 too. How is this game compared to d4?
LE is good
I just bought it.
Should I play online or offline? Do I get the same experience offline? I don’t normally join up with people.
if you don't care about partying up then offline is fine
otherwise its the same
Okay where do y’all go for build guides?
https://www.lastepochtools.com/ has pretty much everything
I appreciate it.
Does that site have leveling builds?
Yes but you really don't need them for LE. It's very good at letting you learn on the fly
it does but leveling is nowhere near as daunting in LE as you might expect from the genre
if you pick one "thing" and then just use skills that do that thing you'll be 100% fine
Respec is easy too. The only thing you can't is your mastery choice.
Hm. Okay. So if I want to follow a endgame build do I start gearing towards after I choose my secondary class?
I’m still at character selection. Trying to decide on who I want to be. I know in Diablo I’ve always went rogue. But I’m not sure here yet.
I would honestly not even look at build guides until you have a couple characters lvl 80+
I wasnt talking about what's there or where it is, but the graphical design of the UI. I hadnt seen anyone else do a cosmetics screen like this
I need to watch a video showcasing each class. Lol
A lot of the game is pretty good at teaching you what you need to do
Yeah, it's basically same as PoE
I have a lot of gripes with PoE, but UI isn't one of them
from what Ive seen, its loosely based on poe but much much prettier, colorful and less confusing. like it.
If ui is the approximate location of rectangles then I guess it's similar?
But that's the only similarity I see between the two lol.
It's more than that. It's also just the way the cosmetic UI operates.
even the supporter packs are very very similar lol
I guess idk why anyone would care about this. But eh you do you
btw, is there some bs like improved tabs here like poe or just cosmetics?
A lot of supporter packs tend to be like that??
No improved tabs
All tabs are in game bought with gold
No. You buy extra tabs with gold in game. You can customize their labels for your own sorting convenience, but that's about it.
I dont "care", I was surprised by the HUGE similarities I was seeing and I was curious to see if its me or just common knowledge lol. If they take PoE, make it prettier and improve the mess, Im in.
Haven’t even started playing and I’m already liking it more than Diablo due to loot filter. 🤣
They take what they like from games across the genre and use it.
Wolcen is the only other one I can think of that has dedicated skill trees for every skill, for example.
I mean, PoE endgame I just cant stand, also looks ugly and gameplay is clunky. D4 is DoA. Wolcen... they still havent fixed online. Plays decently SP but the moment I go online, desync everywhere. GD, no online servers. LE is kinda my last hope haha
GD is fantastic, but if you want good multiplayer, D3 might be one of the better ones currently.
I supposed technically Lost Ark is a thing too
I assume being early access there will be a wipe when 1.0 releases?
D3, I reinstall every 6 months or so but its always the same, be geared in a day, then infinite farm for better versions of the same item. Id rather have lower rates for "unique" items than common legendaries, primals and ancient primals.
No
Lost Ark is a job, not a game XD
So is PoE, lol
oh? all the people who started the moment multiplayer released will be way ahead of the people who are planning on getting it on release? (I got it a while ago, just curious)
If you want to partake in the cycle you can and start fresh, but everyone will get access to seasonal/cycle content
kinda, the lack of dailies make it more casual friendly for me tho, dailies ruin everything XD
I know. I hate that WoW started that crap and everyone else latched onto it.
A game should only feel addictive for as long as it's fun. It shouldn't be using Skinner Box and FOMO to drive it.
I think I’m gonna go necromancer. Since I didn’t like what d4 did with the necro. Lol
fomo is the thing I hate the most because Im weeeak. took me a long time to learn to say "its no big deal missing a few days of dailies"
Pets make me cringe, lol, but they are actually good in this game
What is that character found?
It's SSF nonsense
Solo self found from poe, if familiar
it means it will not have acess to any items or resources collected on any other characters.
source: I read the text in the image
Oh. I’ll definitely disable it then. I read it too. But I was still confused. 🤣
How is this game for controller? I don’t wanna change inputs right now.
Idk how Poe is seen as a job if you can have fun 2weeks into season and quit for 3 months for next
i dont use a controller personally, but from what ive seen it works but its not perfect
So there isn’t any difficulty settings?
If I want to?
yes
I don’t see that setting anywhere.
you can snap your fingers and tone down the difficulty, or keep climbing the infinite mountain and see how far you get
you will find it once you finish the campaign
you are worrying too much lol
just play
because it's not a button on a menu, it's the way you approach the game's mechanics
this basically
That makes sense. I do overthink things a lot. I am having a much better experience than d4 already. Just gonna take time for me to adapt.
there is no punishment for not knowing stuff or failing mechanics other than having to stop and assess
Yeah, d4 building was way too difficult for me. I always felt underpowered. They got some serious balancing issues.
It's because they built it to be a job and income sink
Yeah, I already have a job. I don’t need another. That’s why I don’t play mmos. 🤣
Same, mostly
I'll sometimes get into Warframe or ESO for awhile
But I stay mostly away from them because it cuts too much into time to play other things
Right? ESO is the only mmo I can tolerate really for a short time.
So I just unlocked specializations with the necro. I don’t know which would be more efficient to specialize.
Well optimal.
Just depends on your desired playstyle. Necro is minions mostly, lich is generally a spellcaster with a morph
Well in the end I want to focus on speed clears.
Both can do that
Don't worry about efficiency. Worry about playstyle what is fun to you
So far I’ve only seen one lich build and one fire necro and the lich looked more fun but I think the lich required you to set yourself on fire which I thought was weird. Lol
Nah, not necessary at all lol
Fire wraith Necro basically plays like trapsin from d2, if familiar
I didn’t play necro in d2r. I played the Amazon. Lol
Imagine setting down a bunch of stationary turrets that spit damage at enemies.
But that's far from the only Necro build
Again. Do you want minions or no minions. Answer that basic question
Honestly, it only takes an hour or two to get a character to their mastery, so rerolling is very forgiving
Well I choose necro for the minions. Lol
Sounds good. Lots of ways to play it. Do what looks cool in the skill trees 🙂
I like Acolyte's skills a lot, but I'm not super thrilled with the masteries
Will do. Now just trying to figure out which passive I want for the skeleton. Lol
They all sound good. 🤣
Most skills have some nodes that change the base behavior of the skill, so I'd read all the nodes and see what sounds fun
But I have to admit how much I dislike leveling Sentinel
He's super strong in the mid-late game when his build starts to come together, but his early skills feel really gimp if you're not throwing
What is forging potential?
One of the easiest characters I ever leveled was sentinel, forge guard
FP is the resource that caps how much you can craft an item
What you craft with
Think of it like an energy bar, with each craft consuming a semi-random quantity of energy (displayed before you craft)
Once it his 0, you're done
Bricked item
So I picked up a helmet with the same armor but higher forging potential, that means I should equip it right?
You'll find runes and glyphs that influence your crafting chances, and affix shards that you can use to craft specific stats
Forging potential doesn't matter at all for the power of the item, only tells you how much you can potentially craft it
There are good video guides on YT for understanding the crafting system. I personally like ZiggyD's.
Ah okay. I’ll get the hang of this. Lol
Also on this note, don't worry as much about the base armor value, you care more about the affixes an item has. You want to look out for minion damage affixes for damage potential for necro
Also health, resistances, etc for your defensive layers
Ah that matters in the beginning? I know in d4 it didn’t. Lol
If you start out now using the right items it will just make your journey more enjoyable. Don't hesitate to craft your items as you level
I was so used to not being able to craft items in d4 I didn’t even think about it with this game. 🤣
Crafting is a huge part of the gameplay here
I may never return to d4 now. 🤣
we are a small community still but those of us that stick around have been around for a while, for good reason

unless you're really wanting to buy runes of shattering early on i wouldnt worry about selling stuff
later on you get more than enough gold
I’m out of inv space.
inventory space?
you dont need to be picking so much stuff up
if you press Shift + F you can change your loot filter
i almost immediately hide all common (white) items, and then blue (magic) a little later on
Most items on the ground sell for trivial gold, not worth it
I don’t understand the loot filter yet.
I think I got it now. I just have it set to show magic and up.
Probably need to make it where it only shows scepters for weapons too.
yeah, imo this is a good choice - necro can also play self-cast kinda builds later if you decide you want to respec into that playstyle, not sure how good lich minion builds are
did you put in a 'hide' condition? items pick the first on the list that they match and stick with that, and if they don't match any then they use 'show'
No. Just for show.
Ah, okay, if you only have 'show' rules and nothing else, your loot filter will do nothing
since the only thing you have it doing is the default thing items already do, which is get shown
typically, you will have a pretty broad 'hide' rule at the bottom of your filter and 'show' or 'recolor' rules above for things you want to see
Yeah.
So I found out there is a crafting menu not a blacksmith. How do I salvage? Lol
Does rune of Ascendance care about ilvl of the base?
Nvm, just found out
Lvl 30 base created lvl 75 unique
Wands don't have minion modifiers outside uniques/sets - staves/sceptres, axes, swords, and spears do
Using that crafting menu, there is a little hexagon for rune selection. Runes of shattering and runes of removal are the two methods for salvaging
Yep, the only thing that matters is item type (like 2h axe). There is nothing else that influences the result in any way. (Ignoring special cases, like fractured crown)
Okay so I put hide all weapons except scepters and wands. Why am I getting 2h axes?
Do you have a 'show' rule above that 'hide' one?
Yes.
When an item drop, it reads through your filter from top to bottom and picks the first one that matches, so it's likely hitting that show rule
I know what it is. I had it only hide normal stuff. I need to to set it to any rarity for hide.
Now it should be better.
Oh yeah, that can do it, too
I recommend putting a rule that shows all unique, set, and exalted rarity items near the top of your filter, that way you'll never risk hiding them
A lot of survivability comes from gear and/or idols, though it depends on class
Oh I have that in the show rule. I have 2 rules in total. What I want it to show and what I want it to hide now.
Okay. I’m sure i won’t feel underpowered for too long.
If you do hit a rough spot, enemies are generally themed to the content you're running, so you can just focus on a couple resists that match the enemies you're facing to get a boost. Health is pretty much always good though
I’m seeing 2h axes again?
It's probably hitting your 'show' rule, or your 'hide' rule is too strict
Idk how to fix it. It’s already a bit complicated.
I suspect you might be trying to put too many conditions into each rule
I have 3 conditions in show and 2 in hide.
can you screenshot one or both?
Okay yeah that's it - these need to be split into multiple rules
Wait, really?
an item needs to match all the conditions in a rule to match the rule
so that hide rule for example, it'll only hide items that have one of those affixes and are one of the item types
it won't hide any normal items
So for all the affixes I want to hide I have to create each individual rules?
So I deleted everything except for this now.
nah, I think for what you're trying to accomplish, you want 2 show rules and 2 hide rules set up like:
- show unique/set/exalted
- hide bad item types
- show items with affixes you want
- hide normal/magic/(rare)
Ah okay. Cool.
What is blood splatter?
I’m just going in this blind on the skill build. I really have no idea what I’m doing. I hope it doesn’t matter.
Blood splatter is a sub skill of rip blood
It sounds weaker on paper.
I think it gives it more aoe?
I’m not specializing the second skill. I really don’t know what I’m doing and I’m eventually gonna mess it it seems like.
I just want to make an improvement and not go backwards. Lol
You can’t go backwards with skill specialization
Well, some nodes on skill trees change how to skill works, maybe in a way you won't want, but you can always just remove that point if it doesnt work out for you
I’m still seeing swords and other stuff that’s supposed to be hidden.
I guess I’ll just ignore them.
The loot filter is probably one of those things that will never work for me because it’s complicating. I was excited for it too. 🤣
Fyi if you Google heavyz loot filters, he has a premade base filters for each class that you can optimize from the base. It's what I use, they are really nice
Thank you!
On Reddit?
I tried opening up the one on last epoch forums and this is what it shows,
How am I supposed to read that? Lol
I guess I’ll YouTube some loot filters.
No no
Read the directions at the bottom of the forum post
You download the xml and paste it into your loot filter location in appdata
Then you activate the filter in game
And edit it in game
But it works decently well out of the box
@prime elk
Honestly? I realized this when I was fiddling with the settings said something about paste clipboard then it clicked I was supposed to copy all that text then paste it. Lol
You don't even copy the text. The whole downloaded file goes into the filters folder
The game reads the whole xml file
Oh. But I think it still worked. It shows all the filters. If not then I’ll do it that way.
I've never done it another way so. I guess if it works it works lol
Well it was working for a moment then axes and swords started to appear. I’m gonna download it now.
Acolytes use daggers?
I’m using Heavy’z loot filter for acolytes and a dagger just appeared.
I guess we use swords too?
acolytes can use any weapons that arent restricted to them yes
there are some very good caster daggers
I downloaded the xml file. But it’s still showing common.
did you activate the filter in the menu in game?
I’m guessing that means it is activated?
Maybe I need to restart the game.
Nope still picking up commons.
I think I just need to accept the fact that I can’t get it to work.
Nah don't do that, just click manage loot filter and look at the options. I would edit one for you but I'm not at home
if you havent built up any defenses and you stand in an obvious big attack or ground effect, yeah
thats why all classes have multiple options for traversal
yeah that makes sense, with your first character and no twink gear or anything
Twink gear?
as a necro, let your minions do the hard work, you just focus on avoiding shit
Oh okay.
also as a first character and first time player, you have to actually engage with boss mechanics in this game
for some bosses it might take you a couple tries to learn their attack patterns and timings
its a good thing 🙂
I’m pretty much leaving all weapons on the ground until I see a wand or scepter.
but you can
just because they are a "melee" weapon doesnt mean they are just for melee
melee weapons can roll with all useful caster affixes
or minion affixes
etc
I also don’t know what these shards are.
I don’t know if these affixes are good. I mean I know anything to do with minions is good but the rest of it I don’t.
neither of those are really great for you if you are letting your minions do most of the work
Yeah I haven’t found any weapon yet that helps with minions. Lol
have you found any minion related shards?
No. I sold what I had earlier. But nothing to do with minions.
ah, dont sell shards lol, also not worth
you will find plenty of gold later
dont sell any crafting mat
Ah okay. Well I just don’t know how to salvage yet.
you need runes of shattering, you will find them as you go
just focus for now on picking up all shards and crafting useful affixes onto your decent gear
Oh. Yeah I saw one in the shop for 2k ea. that’s expensive. 🤣
focus on your resistances and health for the most part for yourself
dont buy runes yet either
and focus on anything that says minion for your minions
Okay. Sounds good.
you will find some pieces of gear that have minion stats as implicits too
weapons, offhands
some armor pieces
just keep an eye out
Implicits?
the stats at the top of the item above the 4 main affixes
i.e. the two affixes below "base attack rate" on the two weapons you showed above
those are implicits based on the item type
check lastepochtools.com for details on base items
Ah okay. You think that loot filter didn’t work because it’s 3 years old?
nah, the post is 3 years old but the filter is up to date. notice it says 0.9 version 3
they do below level 15
Oh.
for the very sake of being below level 15 and maybe needing them
all his filters are that way
I always ignore whites if I have a blue or rare in its slot. Lol
sure sure, but he is just creating a base for everyone
Rarity color doesn't matter. You want to target specific affixes.
well except white haha, as it has none
is roar of the woodland (bark skin) bugged? it doesn't seem to be adding any duration to thorn shield
my thorn shield stacks start to fall off as soon as I switch to werebear
it seems to do something to the duration but I think it has a hidden cap on stacks or something
okay so question, with the legendary potential, can i add ANY stat from any item as long as it belongs to the same item slot?
for example could i get 2 handed stats on an one handed unique through legendary potential?
if not
how about an one handed melee weapon stat on say an wand unique?
or does it have to belong to the same item class as well? for example, shields on shields, wands only on wants etc
Item class specific so only wands can be used to craft legendary wands etc.
gotcha, so it's sorta restrictive then
i found an tier 7 spell damage sword, would have been sick to add that to like an wand unque or something like that
This
ALso, if you transfer a class specific affix, the unique gains the class requirement of the affix
This a bug?
https://i.imgur.com/BorOze5.png
Yup, there's like 3 of these unreachable chests now.
woo! hit one mil gold for the first time! :)
0.9.xsomething, the affix increased chance to find potions was removed from rings, and existing items got this flat armour affix instead.
It's not super useful but a fun legacy item
Not that I've seen or know of
Don't think they do
Nope, and no way to obtain flat armor on rings nor upgrade existing.
is there a way to get rid of the chatbug that makes the middle text lines invisible ingame?
it makes following any convo a minigame
not sure if this is the right channel
Welp, that's a new one to me! The best place to post this would be our Bug Forums here - https://forum.lastepoch.com/c/bug-reports/23 - with this screenshot!
will do, thx
i don't think there's been a single time i've logged on and not had that bug lol
hasn't happened after I posted, but been ongoing for me since before 8.5, figured it was common since it happened a lot
Just got off work an hour ago. I still can’t get loot filters to work.
I downloaded Heavy’z loot filter. It shows it in my loot filter. But yet I still get items I don’t need.
Is this normal?
Like how would I know if it’s working?
Did you customize it at all. Remember it's a base acolyte loot filter, as he has no idea what each player needs. You know it's working if shit is different colors
What do I customize?
I did change which affixes I wanted at the bottom but I still get random affixes.
Look at the filter details and look at the affixes he has chosen to highlight and not
Loot filters are hierarchical
Hierarchical?
So higher rules override lower rules
What if I rose it to the top? Would it mess it all up?
You may have shown affixes you want but you didn't explicitly hide affixes you don't want
That’s because he doesn’t have a rule where to hide which affixes.
It's the same rule. You just uncheck ones you don't want
I'm not looking at your filter but it should be pretty logical once you understand how the rules work
Well then I did that. Because I checked the ones I wanted and left the others unchecked.
How can I show you my loot filter?
Right. But those might be checked somewhere above in a rule that overrides
I won't be able to see it unless I'm in game, and I can't do that
I didn’t mess with anything else.
If I get home in a reasonable time tonight I can try and customize an acolyte filter for you. Just DM me the affixes you want
Honestly I don’t even know what I need. I just choose whichever is for acolyte.
Then idk what you mean you are getting affixes you don't want. The base heavyz acolyte filter should already be set that way
To show all acolyte affixes
So these are all for acolyte?
Potentially yes. But if those are getting through you should be able to find where they are getting through and uncheck them if you don't want them
If you JUST show acolyte class affixes you won't see really any of the gear you might need. Just fyi
Or maybe tell me groups of affixes you don't want to show, if that's better
So I went through everything. Nothing is set to show for anything to do with melee.
That means it’s not working right? Or am I too low lever for it to work right now since I am only level 10.
Wait...your still only level 10...
Well yeah. I been trying to fix this.
Lol. Nothing about the filter works until 15. I told you that
Get to 15, and then try
I thought that was for common items. Sorry.
All good, let me know when you get to 15
You could also turn off that rule but for you may just be easier to get to 15 🙂
Okay sounds good.
Okay, I’m a bit confused. It says 25% csc which I thought is insane. But on my character stats I have 6% csc. Am I missing something here?
most skills have a 5% base critical strike chance
25% is a 25% increase on the base
so 5 * (1.25)
also FYI, that crit chance does nothing for minions
mmmm delicious tubes of shattering
Damn auto correct. 🤣
Um. My mini map is gone?
I figured it out.
So I just figured out rip blood actually heals you. 🤣
You can spec it not to but yup
How can I respec my passives? Apparently I messed up.
Honestly at level 13 nothing on this page really matters that much haha
Okay. Because every enemy can almost one shot me. I have to spam rip blood constantly to stay alive.
How would I know if my dps would be higher if I equip this staff?
At this point your passives probably matter more than anything. Also why aren't you letting your minions do all the work?
That’s with my minions do all the work. I can’t stop the enemies from attacking me. Lol
Are you attacking along with your minions?
Yes. In the far back.
anyone having issues with lightless arbor first boss phase?
If you're dying a lot, you need more hp/armor/resists/crit avoidance/endurance etc
Well...don't. At least not until your minions have for a little while
Or you're standing in stuff you can avoid
Level 13 lol
At that level, just add hp/vitality to your gear
First character, playing solo character found
Wait what’s character found again? Because I hope I made it where if I did create another character I’d have access to my resources.
That’s what it is right?
Character found is this game's version of SSF nonsense
youre character sheet above specifically says character found
If it was unchecked, you can share with other characters
It’s in the red. That’s good right?
(I love the pirated Windows reminder too, lol)
Pirated?
You do know windows is basically free right?
So will I be able to access my resources on a new character?
i have never had character found on my character sheet pretty sure
So I messed up?
Easy way to test
Make a second dummy char and see if you can see anything in your stash from the first
So transplant seems like a useless skill even though it’s part of my leveling build. It does pretty much no damage 99% of the time.
Transplant isn't for damage for you. Especially not right now
Transplant is to gtfo
Yeah, mobility is huge in this game. It's for utility too.
Yes and you can take Passives for it so that it gives you a defensive buff, debuff enemies, etc.
You can build it some clever ways later
But for now use it to not die
Spec into it though for sure
Like sweet goat said. It has some nice defensive buffs
I'd spec into it as your 5th skill. You can use the base version until then
I usually spec my mobility skill as my 3rd or 4th, but it's up to you
Can always change your specializations as well
Yeah, weirdly, when I was newer to the game I was highly reluctant to because of the regrind involved, but now I just dgaf and do it willy nilly until I find what I like.
I’m level 15 now.
Is there anything special I need to do to get the loot filter working?
nah
Just a basic understanding of it
most basic thing is just hide whites
I'd watch a YT guide or two about it if you need help
Okay because I already have one downloaded.
But the spcifics of an "optimal" setup are going to vary from person to person, depends on their progress, depends on their goals, etc
I just didn’t know I needed to be level 15 to use it until primeval told me.
you dont
Well it hasn’t worked yet.
you can use lootfilter from the beginning
shift+F
have you selected the lootfilter?
anyone having issues with lightless arbor?
I’ve had this one set since last night and I still get things I don’t want.
You do with heavyz, which I told them to use since they struggled making their own
ah level scaling filter
Shows everything until level 15, just to cater to new players with no twink gear
Still not working.
It's not enough to download it. You have to actively select it.
he has it selected here
They did. We have been through all of this lol
I posted this earlier. But here it is.
maybe the item is supposed to appear?
Lots of unchecked boxes in there
Because I don’t know what they are.
Those are unchecked because they are specifically for alt
Check them if you want to show gear for other classes
this is why i advise people to just try and make their own lootfilters first
They did
Same
I could delete it then re set it up.
This is a really basic one that highlights certain kinds of items you might want, but it still displays all the "trash" too in subdued colors. Try it if you want. No pressure. It's quite far from "optimal" but it helped me when I started.
I recommend it more on the basis of using it to learn how the filter works than to keep it as something to use forever.
This filter is intended to have everything active
I’m trying Heavy’z one more time before I try that.
Ah ok
The general gist of the filters is that you want to ignore things you don't care about and have stuff you want stand out
All the rules you create/use for a filter should roughly be aimed at this goal
yes
Not sure how good pebbles bitemarked is. But I do use golem.
Wait! Will all items still drop regardless??
from his take here. yes.
just recolored i think? you can just hide it and put it at the bottom if you dont want it to appear
There are different styles of filtering you can take too.
-
Design the filters to color code class and non-class items, then emphasize ones with desired affix combos.
-
Design by affix quality/tier, and color code for certain ranges of affix tiers or total tiers. This is especially good for crafting and decided what to shatter.
-
If you really want to put a lot of work into, make it super specific so that it has a minimum number and type of affixes on items of specific types. For example, you might want Endurance and HP% on a belt with at least t3 of each.
-
Leveling filters are a bit more general, targeting specific affixes and item bases according to your preferred leveling skills/builds before you respec later.
-
Show only uncommon/rare affixes since the common ones drop often enough on their own. This way you have interesting bases to work with or obvious shatter candidates.
This isn't even a complete list. Just some ideas for what makes sense for your desires/goals.
The filter I provided is closer to #2
Okay I’m gonna feel really dumb if this is true. But I think the loot filters has been working this whole time. Something just clicked when you said they stand out. I have had items drop that was a weird color that was selected in the loot filter. I just assumed whatever you have had to not show they wouldn’t drop at all. Which is true?
Most of filtering is recoloring
some lootfilters hide items
Does Heavy’z?
but i saw the screenshot you took. it hides whites, as well as there's a hide item that is level-scaled
Sure looks like loot filter to me 🙂
I feel dumb. 🤣
That's the same as how it feels to learn
I can attest to that personally, currently, right now
I see now why they are showing. 🤣
Lol I've never seen it 17, maybe he changed it.
Each category is actually different the more I looked. Like this one is 50. Lol
The base one is likely still 15. But yeah. I did tell you to customize it as you see fit haha
So I could change it to where only wands and staves show and hide all melee?
If you wanted to
if that's what you want
Just be aware there are some "melee" weapons that can be very good for a minion Necro build
I mean I don’t see why a necro needs melee weapons. Haha
Hm. I’ll keep it as is for now.
for example, just a base item that is technically "melee" by your definition https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/items/IIwBhFYwFjEg
I see what you mean.
just something to think about
Wait, I can already choose a mastery? I thought it would be awhile. Lol
It's pretty early
It's earlier now than it used to be. But yes
they made it earlier
End of act 2
One of the best changes, imo
Agreed
It doesn't completely solve the issue of how much it sucks to start characters from lvl 1, but it does help a lot
Now that I’m here I kinda wanna be lich because of reaper form. 🤣
Lich is fun, mostly a spellcaster
If you like pets, Necro. If you like casting, Lich.
I mean I could always make another acolyte if I don’t like lich.
Same could be said for necro
I love this node
https://i.imgur.com/1CmPLdO.png
It's so one-shotty
Lich makes up for it by having generic leech built into their passive nodes, and two broken ass buff skills.
two?
oh for sure haha, i guess in my mind i dont consider it a "buff" skill
but really it is
but in that sense, totally. reaper form plus death seal is...just sexy
Ridiculously good.
If as a lich, you're using neither, then you must be cooking something spicy.
Or insane.
Yes, or you're cooking some very spicy
Like some insane over the top build.
(If you are pls share)
ive done it, its quite fun. It is nothing crazy and unfortunately i stopped playing it until they can improve marrow shard targeting
its a low life marrow shards, thats all
Ohhh
basically plays like a bone spear necro, and does a crap ton of dmg
I still haven't gotten to build my triple cast transplant yet
It probably shares some similarities.
marrow shards on cast?
yeah, i always wanted to make something crazy around that and CDR stacking
i do have a rip blood transplant lich
Oh I wish I could ever get around to it.
If the fucking Idols would drop
but not the meta one, one that echoes blood splatters as much as possible
Oh no, I just want to be able to abuse the fuck out of transplant as much as possible
yeah i always thought that just loading as mcuh shit into transplant as possible and stacking CDR to just transplant everywhere and explode everything would be sweet
maybe not the best bosser
but holy shit a good farmer
It would be a funny mono rusher tbh
One button problem solver.
WIth maybe reaper form as defense
And a free slot
you would def run reaper
reaper, rip blood, transplant, bone curse and whats your fifth
marrow shardss
it should take your skill tree right?
right right
that sounds like crazy fun
and honestly even rip blood self cast spam, or marrow shards self cast spam would do just fine for most bosses
at least up to 3-500 corr or so
and transplant onto them on CD
Oh my planner was for a crit version
Omegalul
yeah it should be a crit version
i would def do that build as crit
i guess you could go bleed
shards and rip blood have good support for it
Idk how much better it is, but if I get the chance I'll probably still go with the crit version.
i think thats better
Yeah I think crit's still better overall
i just posted some bonkers build in mage too haha, got curious
We cooking today wtf

is there any effect on a certain class/unique/idol that converts poison damage to something else? like for example the Jormun's Wrath node on Warcry for primalist, that converts bleed into frostbite
You assume there's a lot of skills that start as poison...
(no, not really, there's converts INTO poison tho)
can someone help me kill rahyeh?
#👥┃lfg might serve you better
i see, thanks for answering though :))
Also that's a DoT conversion, there's a few here and there that changes bleed to poison, mostly on rogue and acolyte
Increased/added Damage isnt usually converted unless stated. Stuff usually just converts base damage and/or ailments
So apparently the build I’m going towards in the end has a loot filter so I decided to use it. I haven’t had a single piece of loot drop in past hour. Should I not be using it? I’m currently level 21.
I got the loot filter in the description of this yt vid.

Looks like it's looking for basically multiple affixes, which is not as common during low levels since you're not getting common yellow drops yet
I see. At which level will yellow drops be common?
Okay thanks.
Oh. General fire necro
Why does my necro build require a lich skill and how do I obtain it?
Putting points into the lich passive tree.
I see. I didn’t even know that was a thing. Lol thank you.
And today your eyes will open and realize that you can put points into ther subclasses.
Half the tree, but still cool.
Primalist and Sentinel abuse this fact a lot.
That is cool. How do I reset my passives? I spent passives I didn’t need in the beginning.
Go to the brain NPC in towns.
Ah okay. Thanks!
I love that 'Brain NPC' has an actual name/title but we all just use Brain NPC
Should I leave set gears I don’t need on the ground or sell them?
Leave, gear gives next to no gold. Only pick up what has affixes you want to get via Runes of Shattering 🙂
Okay since I’m level 27 now I went ahead and activated my builds loot filter so it may take a little while for me to see the gear I need but I’ll see all legendaries.
Just make sure your loot filter isn't blocking items that are usable for you while leveling.
You generally want to use the next higher level weapon that you find while leveling.
How do I do that?
Should I add a rule? And if I do it won’t mess it up?
One way to check is to drop an item that you want to use on the ground and see if it's hidden
Yup.
