do you have it split between phys and non phys?
that's for phys only
would like to see that for both
blue line is for non-physical
oof
to unlock empowered monolith do i "just" need to finish the quest from the last three ones (age of winter/spirits of fire/the last ruin)? Or there's more?
also what are the benefit of empowered monliths?>
once you finish the last three you need to head back to the island in between those three and click on the ground
empowered monoliths start with 100 corruption and let you push corruption as high as you can take it. higher corruption increases item rarity (better drops) and increases enemy damage and hp. when you beat an empowered monlith boss you also get empowered blessings that have higher stats than what you get from normal monoliths
i see, thanks for the explanation!
physical (red) vs. non-physical (blue) could also look like this depending on how they calculate the 70% effectiveness
but tunklabs shows the 70% reduced effectiveness applying to the armour mitigation %, so I went with that for the earlier graph
I know its a little late, but thanks for the answer, I appreciate it
why are the shadow clones not doing anything?
Shadow clones sit there till you execute one of the 4 skills they clone.
Shuriken, Umbral Blades, Shadow Cascade... and Acid Flask.
When you use one of those skills, all the shadow clones will use that skill and vanish.
There are a few other skills that have nodes which do things with the clones, like Cinder Strike having the clones throw burning daggers volleys.
in .9 Shadow cascade has a node that lets you jump to a shadow clone... you're basically Katarina from League of Legends at that point.
or Zed...
okay ill look into it then
what class/spec are you guys going to choose as starter for the upcoming MP launch?
I enjoyed playing the Hammerdin a lot and even though I played some other builds as well in SP, I think this is going to be it for me.
can someone help me figure out what passives are good for marksman?
I thought about getting the haste passive but it's only a small chance to get 1 second buff
so 25% chance to gain haste for 1 second, IDK
maybe it's worth just for the damage boost
cadence sounds good DPS wise but it follows that garbage idea of having to count up to 3 to use my spells instead of playing the game
Haste passive is really good cause you can keep the buff almost all the time when there are enemies nearby also giving you bonus damage, and haste alone is ~20% more damage
Combined with the speed buff from Shift, it allows you to do a lot of damage in short bursts of time
You can also take the glancing blows passives and go apostacy in BD tree, as an extra layer of DR.
Otherwise, something like this
You can later drop heightened senses when you build more crit avoidance from gear and blessing
cool, thanks
I assume BD means blade dancer, does that mean i can take their stuff as marksman?
Yes, as long as its not specified as "melee"
currently trying to build a support for multiplayer release
are there uniques or any items / set bonus at all which benefit my party members I play with?
so far I haven't dropped one (didn't put that many hours into the game tho)
What kind of support are you going for btw?
Hello, for the orobyss axe Apathy's Maw, am I getting really unlucky or is the ring just a very common drop? From what I've seen his axe boosts my damage a lot
Ring is very common but you also need to be above 50 corruption for the axe to drop
No wonder I don't get the axe alright
Is it a bad thing to get that much corruption early?
I have I think 14 corruption and I'm only level 70
50 corruption is 25% damage and 25% life IIRC
It is not a big bump in difficulty unless you are already struggling
If anything im cakewalking lol
I'm going into area lvl 85 and somewhat chilling
I only ever die to big bursts of damage that I should've been dodging originally
Hello all, does respecing skills with the tomes work yet? I mean, if I have level 15 of a skill nad min. skill level 6, does the tomes bring it to level 15 instantly?
if you are level 100, it will get to 20 lvl with 1 tome
ohhh
but yes, they do infact give it experience
Thanks
hello, I have a quick question, does anyone know if when the trade system is implemented, will we be able to spend gold earned on characters (multiplayer characters we make when 0.9 releases) , or would there be a fresh wipe as it were.
Sometime between 0.9 & 1.0
No, there's not going to be a wipe
hey, i just purchased LE ..is it possible to change the email adress later on?
so I could start playing in 0.9, and have access to the market with those same characters when the market is released?
No idea, as support

Thanks, Appreciate the help! Have a great day.
this planner https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/ shows different tree for some skills as well as 0.9.0 tag, does it mean it includes changes that will be in 0.9.0 or is it some old trees that aren't up to date (specifically Flame Reave, and it was not mentioned in the news few days ago)
It is updated for 0.9 but using data from test clients. So for the most part it does include changes that will be in 0.9 but there will probably be some more changes when the patch is released
Yep
interesting
WIth the MP going online, characters will not get wiped after that, right?
Ideally no. Unless something catastrophic happens
ALrighty, thank you very much!
Does lightning tendrils hit the main target when using detonating arrow?
It can. I think it relies on area increases
do we know what time the patch will hit?
Is there an easier way to adapt loot filters than each filter manually
A site or something where I can say "Take X affix off all rules that have it"
And then get an XML file out
@bronze ocean Perhaps you'd know if this exists? If not is it on your radar? The game allows you to select affixes for items they can't appear on in the loot filter so it should be easy enough to say "Give me a 5 stage loot filter, select these items, these affixes"
Does the +20% block chance from warpaths Juggernaut Stance work if you do not actually have a shield equipped?
hello, the new merchants' guild and circle of fortune update are already in?
Generic block chance always applies regardless of what you have equipped
No.
Oh. Well that's interesting...no shield block build go? 😛
Good luck getting high though
I mean I think I can get ~30% just in passives and that node, so a 1/3 chance to block just as an extra layer of defense isnt terrible
is it already known when the Multiplayer Server going live on Thursday?
No.
thanks 🙂
Can someone explain what is the deal with adaptive weapon damage in 0.9?
What does it mean?
If I use a weapon with adaptive damage, will it "know" what kind of damage I deal most and convert that automatically?
Yeah, based on the skill you're using. Fire skill = adaptive becomes fire damage
What if the skill has physical tag?
Specifically, it will look at the skills tags, and distribute damage according to those. If your skill has Physical and Necrotic, for example Added Melee Damage would be split 50/50 between them. It does not look for what type of damage you would deal the most of; for the above example, if you had 100% Increased Fire Damage, it would have no effect for that skill, unless you also had Added Fire Damage from somewhere
Any idea of when we will the time patch goes live om the 9th
Then use an Elemental/Poison/Void Skill - Melee Damage and Spell Damage will almost always respect the skill tags; the big exception would be for Poison Damage, since that would have to be the only Damage Type Skill Tag in order to add Poison Damage to your skill (i.e. Wandering Spirits, Drain Life, Hail of Arrows, etc... that convert their basic Damage over Time to Poison Damage)
@subtle mist - no, though prior patches were usually 11:00 AM EST, 1600 UTC.
Yes... But a bunch of sentinel auto attack skills dont have the void tag, which makes them terrible in a void damage based build
The 100 added physical weapon damage is just usess
Correct - there are still a fair number that do, however, so I'd focus on those ones (e.g. Rive and Hammer Throw)
Oh well, at least it is better than nothing 🙂
Thx
On the planner web app, puncture shows with a cold tag. I don't see any cold notables in the skill tree. Does anyone know why?
Is there any recommend site to check for builds besides YouTube?
Might be a unique item or other source of the conversion.
I would be careful saying the conversion is solely based on tags, since tags can apply to different portions of the skill and split is not always 50/50.
Hello what is the hour of MP patch release in europe ? at march 9
I know you said "almost", but it's pretty common for skills to have multiple parts that deal different damage
There is no set time yet. Ash answered this above a few minutes ago
Hey guys, did we already get the Backpack that was announced? If yes, where to find it?
It's coming with 0.9
Does the Monolith Blessings work the same way as other mods in regards to minions? So that stuff like "Increased lightning damage" is just for player-based spells and not minions, making all offensive blessings useless for minion-based builds?
when is last date to buy this game to get backpack cosmetic?
and what is the difference between buying it on the webpage vs steam ?
Yeah it works the same. There are a couple of minion blessings though
Oh? Must've missed them then, will recheck! Thank you 😄
Oof, competing with endurance ones, that's harsh
Backpack will be given on 0.9 release, which is March 9th so 8th would be last guaranteed day
Likely early 9th as well but we don't know yet when exact will patch drop
alright thanks 🙂
have the devs ever talked about changing dread shade? Stops me from playing necro everytime
it's a temporary buff that has no cd, so you have to spam it every once in a while with 0 help from the UI. Which is something I hate. Either make it more powerful, but make it a cd so I use it on occasion. Or make it an aura and just let it be passive. But spamming temporary buffs with no CD knowing that you're just overriding a buff but it's so important that it needs to stay up 100% of the time just bothers me.
But coming back to my question, does anyone know if the devs ever talked about changing dread shade?
No, im pretty sure its intended to be core to necromancer. its what basically makes necro tick.
if they made dreadshade a more powerful cd based ability, then they would also have to make minions more powerful as a baseline
cause rn without dreadshade necro isnt real and minions do literally 0 damage
cool ty for info
I have a question about this Warcry node, does that actually count as 5x casts? I cast 1x Warcry + 4x Maelstrom with 1 click?
its just 1 cast. Triggering abilities is listed as "casting" somtimes but you as far as I know dont actually cast them as in it wont count as a recent cast.
Hey guys! I plan on playing this game with friends once multiplayer hits, we are all new. Would it be a good idea for me to play on my own a bit before the 9th, or would that ruin the experience? lol
that's hard to answer I think, it depends on you as a person. LE is definitely not a game that's meant to only be played through once, there isn't anything specific to ruin. but there's still something to be said for all experiencing something together for the first time
Would it be helpful to play ahead to try out classes in order to decide ahead of time which class I actually like? Or is it super easy to switch?
switching is not easy, your character's class (and later, subclass) is locked and can't be changed. you'd have to start the story all over again with a new character to choose a different one
It's in my backlog, although not a high priority.
Btw if you generate loot filter in build planner, it will already select the proper affixes for each rule
so there may be some value in trying stuff out beforehand if you're concerned about that. however, there are quite a few possible builds for each class so it may not be that simple
if you have a specific playstyle in mind we can probably give suggestions
(and your build decisions other than class are easily changed, by the way)
I enjoy playing characters that have high self-sustain, but also great dmg output. And aggressive play.
Also really enjoy classes with high skill cap
high self-sustain describes most builds, there are very few ways to get away with not having good sustain in this game and it's usually pretty easy to get (most commonly via leech, but there are many other options)
because of the number of build options for each class, every one can have great damage output and aggressive play. I would probably suggest staying away from Acolyte I guess, since she has a large percentage of builds that either rely on minions or damage over time, and neither of those tend to feel super aggressive IMO
So I have tried each class to level 17 in Chapter 3 and have issues with survivability; I keep getting one shot by normal mobs, all but the Paladin, and he can take 3 hits before I die, yet it takes me 5+ hits to kill one mob... I have picked up all gear I have found so far in game... am I to grind levels and gear this early is the game? no where near end game, just story mode... that all said is that what I am to do or am I doing something wrong or?
LE in general is not a game that leans super hard on mechanical skill, though some level of it is important. I would say the class that most often relies on careful positioning/aiming and twitch reflexes is rogue, though it's a huge generalisation. especially the bladedancer mastery (subclass) — a lot of her builds are high APM and squishy, and rely on good positioning and correct timing of multiple utility skills for optimal play
Any other classes that benefit from really good skill rotation?
chapter 3, particularly the ruins of welryn, is a bit of a difficulty spike. something that can help a ton is to find or craft gear with void resistance, as the majority of the damage you encounter in chapter 3 is void
Try to find void and phys res early. And the basic mechanics of getting out of the way if you see ground effects / dont stand still... It really should not be so brutal. I am very new also, only played like 5 classes so far - and surviving the early game was never an issue for any of them.
any of them can. like I say, there are lots of builds for each class so it's only possible to speak in extremely general terms
I see, so there's no generalization that can really be made about x class suits y playstyle
@vapid rock Perry the pig just released a youtube talking about "starters" - Static orb mage needs to combo teleport tunnel. A couple of rogue builds need timings... even sentinels with sigil casting upon entering a mono or holy trail benefit from timing volatile reversal and lunge... most builds will get optimized by timing skills correctly.
not really, no. you can definitely say X build suits X playstyle, but when there are 20-50 sensible builds per class and a huge variety of playstyle within those, it's quite hard to make general statements
I'm aware of the latter, and it's useful, but from a UX perspective modifying rules without modifying items would be useful. I don't want to build plan items, it's far too finicky and not representative of finding items at all, and I'd suspect that's the case for more people
sorry if I've asked this before but: if I make a lootfilter now it'll stay relatively untouched going into 0.9 yeah? apart from affixes that get changed and such
This is how affixes are coded in the filters and I remember Mike mentioning how filters get populated by the client so they would be fine when 0.9 drops
hello, i just read a steam review that said multiplayer is coming out march 9th, but cant find any dev posts to suggest this. was this guy making it up
If you check #news they are sharing hype posts daily till March 9th. So no, they weren't making it up
MP is coming
ah i see thanks. i dont see anything confirming multiplayer though? this sure sounds like a multiplayer teaser to me though
It is right there on the image
!multiplayer
Multiplayer is coming March 9th! Check out upcoming events in our latest development post here: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/december-development-update-0-9-0-date-locked!
oh awesome thank u
hmmm.... that link should probably maybe get updated... I wonder who's in charge of that.. cough
It's still accurate, it could maybe just be a more recent post, haha.
if I make a character today, will it be able to play multiplayer on march 9?
no
nope
thanks
No patchnotes for 0.9?
They will come out
When, 1 day before launch
Either before or after launch
There is well over 70 pages of internal patch notes. And things are still being slightly changed and edited. They'll be out when EHG decides they're ready to be out.
had a quick q im sure has ben asked 2000 times. Will I need to fresh start with 0.9? Or can I start my character now and that will transition over?
Fresh
your existing characters will still be playable offline, but can't be used online. if you want to play online you'll need to start fresh
So I'm bringing in my wife for the first time with the update on thursday, quick question because I'm not sure. Is the necro or one of the primalist subclasses going to be more...petty? She wants as many pet skills as possible. I know Necro can already get 4/5 pet skills (maybe even 5/5? I havent tried that yet) but I have little experience with any of the primalists so not sure. I know she loves the idea of the squirrels build on primalist but she still wants as many pet skills as possible and I know primalist has some odd rules for their pets.
Primalist has a limit to how many companions it can have out.
By default it's two. You can increase that further. I think the max is 5?
Would a full pet primalist be as good as a full pet necro? I know the necro has fun full pet setups, just never done much with primalist personally.
I don't personally know. I kinda doubt it because they all build differently and don't synergize like that really.
if you are just looking to casual play the game, full pets might be okay. But for the most part, ideally you want some support skills. So like for primalist it might be swipe to shred or proc abilities and frenzy totem. And for necro you want dreadshade and maybe infernal shades or rip blood for buffs.
If it gives any help, her favorite build in any ARPG ever was SRS summoner from path of exile. So all pets with a single "pew pew" skill that debuffed everything for her pets
I can pretty much guarantee she wont use dreadshade, she doesnt like buffs/debuffs with timers you have to watch that way
necro is going to suit that much better
Then she should probably not play necro if she does not plan to use dreadshade just imo.
but yes that is the problem
for better or worse necro builds are balanced entirely around dread shade, it's literally most of their damage
Primalist also has those skills. Frenzy totems, swipe buffing. You get the idea.
yea, thats why im trying to figure this out in advance before thursday 😛
primalist is a lot more hands free in terms of not needing to maintain buffs. but if she has 0 desire to maintain any buffs then pet builds might not be the play
she is fine with buffs/debuffs, she just prefers they come as a side-effect of her 1 or 2 offensive skills. She doesnt want to watch timers, and dreadshade is definitely a timer.
What about a minion that is duration based but provides buffs, like a totem, still a no go? its just gonna be a really hard sell on any pet build with no timers
Being honest literally every pet build in the game uses some kinda timer buff that is a huge damage buff
totem would likely be fine, shes played turret builds before in some games. and is that true for forgeguard also? I have no timers at all on my minion FG that im aware of
There is a node in void cleave that gives like 200 flat fire damage to the minions when you hit them
it is a massive huge damage buff
oh, that. yea, i dont use that ^^; honestly have not needed it at all and it stops me from spinning, so...meh.
What dps goes well with druid tank/support
like I said, just depends on your level of play you plan to pla.y if you dont plan to go past empowered 100 corruption or do the highest dungeon tiers you can play whatever
thats true...as much as I want to play with her i have no idea how long she'll really stick it out once the end game grind starts =/
You can also shift it around later to making the build more fine tuned for harder content if she enjoys the game as well. Might as well just go in having fun at first 😛
thats the plan, which for her means...pets. all the pets. you like pets? your pets spawn pets 😛
for the swarm
gotcha
ty hommie
I think primalist will be the way if she won't like dread shade (including the enemy-targeted way that you mainly pop on bosses). Could run a locust-based build on druid with bees and other companions (like scorpion with baby scorps) for maximum swarm action.
Might not be optimal, but maybe it'll be enjoyable enough and if you run a complimenting support build like Hand of Judgement paladin I think it'll do plenty well at end game.
idk if the person who was asking about a high aggresion, high sustain, high skill cap build, is still around, but turbo vengeance or turbo rive 100% fits that vibe
VR plays are the highest skill ceiling stuff in the game, and those builds are entirely about being as aggressive as possible
Are any new specializations getting release with the new patch?
masteries? no, the remaining three are getting released in 1.0 (and then probably more after that)
more? like more then 3 per class? 😮 that would be awsome
no hold only hype :p
We already have a guarantee that Mage will get a fourth eventually, thanks to Mike. No information on what.
I'd assume 1.0 brings us the trading factions aswell, which is what for me will make the game complete.
stop assuming.
why
you are not EHG.
that's cool, one of the issues with poe is that even thing is so interconnected, so adding new stuff is so hard to balance cause it needs to balanced with every other thing already in the game. That is why i love le so much everything is more separate (but still complex) so balancing is easier so its easier to add new stuff (hopefully).
you have no idea what all they are working on.
? It'd make sense for it to bring it as a 1.0 update in any game is seen as a big jump
it's fine to be hopeful, but don't assume something will come out then get angry when it doesn't.
well don't tell it to other people.
just let's not spread anything like that is all.
O.o
Id assume trading factions are here 1.0 at latest for what its worth
i could see them bringing them in sooner if they're ready, just to make sure they work on a large scale and stuff
id definitely be very suprised to see them later than 1.0
Anybody have any ideas for builds if I like melee skills (like Earthshatter/Boneshatter in PoE?). Was thinking maybe something like Earthquake? Seems a little slow and lackluster but seems to be closer than anything else I see available
Can I ask recommendations/pointers for 0.9 builds? My main choice was to go with VK w/ devouring orbs and abyssal echoes. But I’d be curious if there are good summoners build (I.e., something I can level with and get to the end game without excessive respeccing and chase uniques)
I know you can’t really brick a character but I am not that confident to go on my own way
hey guys is there a good resource for loot filters I can import for a new player
beastmaster is also pretty good too
Hey there, I decided to work on some loot filters, for more casual players that don’t want to bother to much with the new Loot Filter that much. Those Loot Filters are also a great template to create your personal Loot Filter. Overview: What are those Loot Filters doing? Hide normal items from level 15 and above Hide all Items not fo...
ty ty
Any content creator to checkout?
probably just youtube search last epoch necromancer
really just getting a necromancer to endgame once opens up the rest of them cause respeccing is so easy
can someone help me with this filter? The unique item at the top of the screen should be showing:
It has Void Penetration and one of the 19 affixes on this rule is Void Penetration
Can someone who is familiar answer, does the rogue prefix "increased throwing physical damage" increase the dmg from bleeds applied by throwing hits as well as the phys hit portion? I assume so but thought I'd ask
did you un-check the two rules above the unique one to see if they affect it
I did
Take a look at this...
Why doesn't the first rule detect it? Its the same issue...
No clue, maybe it just doesn't work on unique item affixes, which is weird.
very weird, ill report as a bug i guess
Hit Z or alt-Z
I tried some other items and different affixes and it seems to be the case for all affixes on unique items. Idk why u aren't able to only show specific unique items, p weird.
That does not. The bleed itself does not inherit the throwing tag from the skill that applied it. Although if a modifier said increased damage with shurikens that works because it does remember what skill applied it.
You actually can filter uniques a bit
Some uniques like ravenous void have a special base type that cannot drop otherwise
so "recolour all unique gloves with fancy base type" will match RV
You can do similar stuff for uniques which are the only one on their base
That's good. But you really should be able to do the same but with affixes
It's like they have their own type of affixes
They do, its all fancy special stuff
yea, dumb how it has the exact same names, makes u think it's filterable.
Ok thanks for that info
It would be good to have "psudo" things in the filter like total resistance or whatever
and have those work for uniques too
total res is doable, no? put all resistances and choose to show the ones with at least 2 of them
and then a minimum tier of said 2
Its doable just a pain since you also have hybrid mods on some slots
and those roll different ranges, also body and amulet have special roll ranges
so you might be happy with a t2 on body but a t3 on helmet
can this reattach chance affect an allied minion if I have those nodes in my skill?
Its only for your minions
aha, so I'm guessing this zombie node does not put infernal shades on your own minions, correct?
If its specced to target minions, it should
The shade targets only near where the zombie died
if i buy for supporter pack on the site, will i get a steam key?
After purchasing you can redeem game on steam: https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/migration-to-steam/52234#getting-set-up-1
thanks mate!
guys given the upcoming MP release, id like to know if there are any support builds already or if people are just doing content together for fun
Yes.
You can check for eg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYckAHgfQtc
Top 3 Support Builds In Last Epoch 0.9 Patch For Multiplayer
In this video I talk about the 3 support builds I'd suggest you try out next patch, especially if you really enjoy the aura bot playstyle from Path of Exile!
Hopefully with this info you guys can dive right into Eterra with your friends coming March 9th!
Links :

Ty!
seems like the first one gives the biggest damage bonus to group play no?
Necro can give a ton of damage too while also having meatshield arny
yeah video talks about it only being a 60% buff compared to a 400% buff though
but this is just taking the #s that were quoted from the video, and not taking into account how they really play out in actual gameplay. Ie like you said with necro, you can have a extra agro dump with the zombies and so that could mean more dps uptime for the group.
are all ailments SUPER nerfed for 0.9? or just poison
Poison is super nerfed, other ailments lost a multiplicative modifier, which hurts, but not as bad
does "%increased melee attack speed" affect hammer throw?
Nope, hammer throw is a throwing attack
can you please expound on this lost multiplicative modifier? or share a link where this is mentioned? please. thank you
so just %attack speed and %throwing attack speed works?
As my brain is small I'm having trouble interpreting this det arrow node. Does the explosion send out X tendrils that each* zap one guy and that's it, or does the explosion send out one tendril that chains to X targets?
No more bleed/poison effect
Here is the post where it was mentioned initially https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/september-2022-development-update/49746
But essentially "bleed effect" now becomes "physical penetration with Bleed"
Hello Travelers, and welcome to the September Development Update! We have big news for you today: The CT Multiplayer Build for Last Epoch is going online 24/7 starting in early September. This means our Community Testers will be in full multiplayer test mode (by the way you can apply here) all day, every day as we polish, improve, and prepare f...
thanks for help
the 2nd one
gotcha. still good
maybe a slightly less small brain question, I'm planning to use det arrow as a secondary skill on puncture dot to have some aoe. I assume it's better to keep the skill as lightning just for the tendrils, instead of converting to a damage type I'm actually dealing?
(trying frostbite puncture so it's gonna be a mess of FBite + poison + bleed on detonating arrow regardless)
Yeah definitely keep the tendrils, they outclass the other conversions by a mile
Especially for DoTs
thanks a ton that puts me at ease
something like this was my initial thought, but I assume I'm gonna shuffle a lot of stuff around to see what feels best.
do we know the 0.9 time when it drops?
Hey, i wannz play 9.0 with the same build i used to play. Is shadow cascade bladedancer still good ?
Not the shadow blade version btw, just the regular one
Shadow blade used to be busted so i'm guessing it got severly nerfed
Why exactly is Shaman considered bad? Tuning? Synergies?
It just has a bad tree in general. Especially compared to the other two masteries.
tyyy ill be making my support paladin
Tree makes no sense at all, there are 2 semi good nodes at top of tree. Mastery bonus is a pain since you cant really leverage the resists with totems not always being up. (I'd rather that just give all totems resists so they stop dying to random stuff)
The shaman themed skills are all better on other classes except avalanche. Tornado is best on swarmblade, maelstrom and eq are way better on werebear and beastmaster. Thorn totem is better in spriggan form. Storm crows are too reliant on minion count to not be beastmaster. Ice thorns only even exists because they forgot to make a replacement skill for it and couldnt remove it. Avalanche has a god awful skill tree full of nodes that do effectively nothing. Tempest strike is a great fit for shaman though...
and its also missing a skill
Also they didnt put one of the most desirable stats in the game on top of shaman tree: totem duration. Many totems only last 3 or 4 seconds
there is one node related to totem durations, and that just refreshes their duration when you kill an enemy yourself (pretty hard to do that on a build scaling totem damage)
then half of the top of the tree is dedicated to a proc with like 100% base damage and a 3 second cooldown
I'd say wait for the shaman overhaul they are talking about few months ago on stream
yup
someone asked why its bad so I gave all the big issues
but you could go on for a long time pointing out various flaws
they only get 2 slots tho right
ooo
Normal = 0 slots filled, magic = 1 or 2 filled, rare = 3 or 4 filled, exalted = 1 - 4 filled and at least one mod is tier 6 or higher
thank u
Hello! New to LE and aRPGs in general, played a bit of TQ a few years ago though I didn't get into the community much.
I've been having a blast with my Rogue, despite dying several times down by the Cultist Docks area 😅 [My own fault, not looking ahead + panic spamming + not paying attention to my health]. I've been trying to read up on the community guides and player advice, which has been super helpful however I keep tripping up on a lot of the shorthand used.
I know DoT = Damage over Time etc but is there a list of all the shorthand used by players here or is it more of a 'You get used to it and learn as you go' type of thing?
I don't know if there is a list but you could just ask here or in general when you see a shorthand you don't understand
I just didn't want to constantly be asking 😅 though this is honestly one of the nicer communities I've jumped into when it comes to explaining stuff and helping new players!
Right now I'm using my 0.85 toon to just get used to the game and style of aRPGs, my build is probably littered with mistakes but I'm having fun!
It was super satisfying to finally beat Pannion the other day!
Learn by doing, definitely the best way. Also really nice to see someone just jumping in and making mistakes and doing their own thing instead of following a build from a YouTuber blindly. You will get so much more out of the game.
Ask in the rogue channel if you want more specific help and advice
Will do! I only recently learned that Flurry applies to Bows too so I'm gonna try a Bow and see how well I can make it to the end of the Docks vs my current dual wield style. I do like range, which I've been pouring points into shuriken's for, though it's also fun to Shift into the middle and spam Cinder strike and Flurry!
Sounds like you are doing rogue things 🙂 you're probably just missing some defensive layers and skill interactions. But you do you!
Potentially - I accidentally broke down the wrong items the other day by not realising I'd swapped my gear not moved it into my stash.... so many things to track at once and my hands hate me.
If I had a shred of editing skill, I would make a 'blooper reel' of all the times I open the overlay map instead of using Cinder strike on Q 🤣
guys, if i redeem my le to steam can i still play using the official client? or maybe both? (not at the same time, of course)
and what about the supporter packs, if i buy from the official site are they unlocked in steam as well and vice-versa?
yes you can, but i believe they're no longer maintaining the standalone client
They aren't, from 0.9 you will need steam to play but you can link an existing account to steam and the game will be in your library 🙂
Steam just launches the launcher, and you log in as usual from there
oh i see, thats too bad, i d have preferred to play with the official client, steam starts bunch of unneded services
well then i ll have to redeem anyway
thanks guys
The team has said they did think long and hard about this decision, but the Steam client will make it much easier to add features for everyone without having to duplicate all of the work.
The forum post is here if you want to read the Devs explanation and guide on migrating your account - https://forum.lastepoch.com/t/migration-to-steam/52234
Shaman can certainly run all the game content well and is easy to gear thanks to the +50% ele res. The problem is it has only like 2 builds, largely due to half of its passive tree and skill options being useless.
On the map what do the nodes with a little star inside mean?
What's the easiest way to get or make a filter for multiplayer and multiple classes gear in one
Can you show a screenshot of it?
This probably. It means the zone has a waypoint. If it's glowing blue it means you've activated it.
The little blue stars. Just wondering what that means if a zone had one
Ohhhh ok thanks!
Does warpath benefit from both void and physical penetration? Like can I stack 20% for both elements and get +40% penetration? And other skills like Rive, ofc.
If the skill has both tags, then yes.
damn, that's nuts. Ok cool. thx
Except it's still 20% per source.
Storm crows are too reliant on minion count to not be beastmaster
Ironically you still want to go with a single companion build with crows due to how the modifiers are stacking.
It's not dependent on tags, if your Warpath has any added void damage or added physical, penetration will boost that portion of the damage
ah right, so 20% phys penetration based on my phys flat dmg+bonuses and 20% void penetration based on my void flat dmg+bonus
you get 20% for the part that does phys damage and 20% for the part that does void damage, as in, 20% total
ah, so it just splits it really. Total dmg increase would still be ~20%
maybe slightly less or more depending on bonuses.
thanks
There's a Rune of Discovery (or similar) that fills the rest of the slots on the item with random affixes & doesn't cost forging potential.
is our current characters gonna become playable in MP, or they gonna only be accessible offline only?
Offline only
How do I buy legacy cosmetics? I want to use them in .9 and beyond potentially.
Can I expect to have a good time leveling in 2p multiplayer or is it more like poe where it's an option but not fun?
all coop experiences are clunky in ARPGs and even other genres. Best Coop experiences are team competitive vs another team or games designed to be co-op only (It Takes Two, etc)
There may be many bugs on release as well. Time efficiency wise, solo is always better.
there exist arpgs designed around multiplayer play and have pretty solid multiplayer gameplay
like diablo 3, Lost ark (though more on the mmo side), and diablo 2 (for its time)
that's why I was asking
That is true, you can very well have fun playing it.
just note potential bugs on launch
I will keep that in mind, I'm not racing (given that its my first time playing the game) so I don't mind waiting for a bit if the game needs some hotfixes
thanks for the answer 🙂
I think 2-player campaign will probably be pretty smooth sailing if you are running complimenting builds. If you're not aiming to speedrun, I don't think it matters all that much one way or the other.
They're from things like kickstarter packs, beta packs, etc. as far as I know
ah ok thx
Is there a way to easily see all the sources for a particular ailment (items, passives, skills, skill passives, etc)? Best way I can figure out is to search items and then to search each passive tree and skill tree separately. Not terrible, but kinda tedious
@finite chasm: Spriggan Form movement skill teasers, finally:
I mean, no. there was already a unique item that did that for them. silvafrond or however it's spelt.
When you cast summon vines in spriggan form the ring would let you teleport to that location.
Yeah, but this is now on a castable skill - no uniques required. While it's probably in the same vein as the new Teleport nodes from Skeleton Mage, it's still an improvement.
"if you use certian nodes or uniques"
didn't get a chance to look over notes, is str stack cold werebear still viable?
no real changes for it, improved in some other areas
they changed the vines rage stuff so now you need to either use a unique amulet or spec a bit different to sustain rage
gonna use that to carry my group since they haven't ever played
but it's still about the same overall
it does pretty awful boss damage, zooms monolith echoes
doesn't need much to get off the ground
thats the goal, get em hooked and let them find their own way
Is there a release date for the game yet?
0.9 releases on March 9
full release is TBD, but I'd assume late this year at the absolute earliest
Thank you! I played a while back, but was waiting for release so I don't lose my progress haha
I don't need a definitive answer, but what build is capable of inflicting the most number of bleeds. I'm tryna make a support for a swarmblade char.
There are no plans for resets/wipes or anything going forward
Oh heck yeah, so is that now, or after .9?
Perfect, sounds like I will be back to playing this week!
probably blade dancer
If I remember correctly, devs are going to prevent abilities that consume ailments from working with other people's ailment stacks
or squirrels beast master
aww darn.
I'm not sure if that's in this patch or not so maybe you can have some fun with it
I don't see it in the notes, but I won't plan around it. Thanks for the heads up
That said, rogue's lethal mirage can apply a pretty hefty bleed chance buff to your teammates.
might be others, too
Sidenote to whoever was planning on running maelstrom bear, I recommend giving cold locust swarm a try. It's probably going to scale much better for you in the long run; also rampage cooldown was nerfed pretty hard (doesn't start cooldown until after you finish channeling).
Thai is the unique ring. Wish it was real teaser. But won't lie did get baited for a moment from. Your comment XD
can I remove an affix from an exalted item then replace it with another affix, then fuse into an LP item?
as long as the exalted affix remains, should work with any 4 affix right?
yes
k thx
only requirement is that the item has 4 affixes and at least one is exalted
Yes, and FYI sealing an affix (glyph of despair) is the same as removing it for the purposes of legendary crafting. Much safer than glyph of chaos for low tier mods or rune of removal.
ohh really, didn't know, thx.
What's the benefit of going cold over just staying as its base damage type?
glyph of chaos is way more safe than rune of removal at least, no other affixes are changed.
if the affix is useless, chaos is the way to go.
Mainly that it converts all to one damage type. That lets you scale only melee cold damage over time, which has some really powerful scaling in the form of the shattered lance set and elemental damage over time affixes.
hell yes, first seal ever. On T2 cold resistance
If you're consuming bleeds, basically all sources of increased damage are moot. 50 bleeds is trivially easy to get and is 2500% increased damage.
A T1 affix on an exalted item has 100% chance to seal, as far as I know. So, it's an excellent option on low tier affixes - just keep in mind you can only seal once!
yep
So I have 2/3 good affixes, last one is physical. Guess I just chaos rune it?
glyph*
physical resistance is last one*
I don't know if I'd say it's trivial. It requires a good amount of investment in the swarmblade tree (which has almost limitless more damage multipliers) and you need to both have living enemies nearby and wait for the bleeds to ramp up from whatever source you've invested in to do that
I do think both ways to build could certainly be viable, but the cold way is just way smoother.
That's fair. Does the flat damage from the shard of the shattered lance apply to the damage over time? I imagine it doesn't, but might as well check
Yes, all flat melee damage you get applies to locust swarm. I think it's roughly 300% per second effectiveness, if I remember.
Granted, locust swarm itself has excessively high base flat damage (~450), so you hit diminishing returns faster than you would on most skills.
is primalist still weak?
When has it ever been?
like a year ago
druid is one of the strongest classes
Before the druid rework it was fairly weak. But yeah its really good now
only shaman is considered bad cause it's tree is just not great
Might have been druid release tbh I forget
but primalist as a whole, overall fine to good
Whenever they added swarmblade it became really good since they reworked many passives and abilities
that was the druid update yep
cool thanks
is there a site that has a searchable db of all the items in game ( i found LE Tools but not sure thats the best site)?
It is
heyo, noob player here; whats the difference between unique and legendary items in this aarpg?
Legendary items are made by combining a unique item with legendary potential and an exalted item (items that drop with tier 6 and 7 mods on them, mods can only be crafted up to tier 5).
interesting so you dont actually find legendary items then?
press G (to open the game guide) and look up "legendary" for more info
Hey guys, do you know if this multiplayer patch will be server-side characters? Or still just locally saved characters, but online together?
the former
you can still play any offline characters you have, but theyll remain offline
ahh, so finally the ladders will actually mean something? haha...we can't just alter the characters files whenever we want
Oh, so it's better to wait till patch if I want to start a multiplayer character?
yes
Gotcha, thx. Saved me a few hours!)
I can't figure out why I can't pick up this health potion. I seem to have 0 right now and I've clicked it and walked over it. is there some mechanic I just don't know about yet?
do you have a belt equipped?
oh. somehow i do not. thank you lol
Are the trade factions coming on 0.9?
No
hi, does the mp already live?
No, march 9
OHH 2 more days! ty
Is it a problem to define a filter e.g. for wands that also has health listed as an possible affix (which cant roll on wands) or will it just dont do anything? I cant find a reason why it should be a problem as long as there are enough valid affixes to select from.
I am working on a tool to merge and expand itemfilters which could do something like this. Where you just define affix and base item groups and they get combined to specific rules for bases with those affixes, without the need to edit a gazillion different rules.
if deadknights proc hungering soul, will they proc my own (fully specced) or their basic own one?
It's not a problem, it just won't do anything, because obviously you won't see any wands drop with health on
their own version
it will eventually get its own name if i recall
whats the best place to farm rune of ascendence?
playing monoliths and taking the rewards that give misc runes
Dungeons I believe also have runes as a reward option but that didn't really strike me as so efficient
how does the solo challenge interact with gifting or moving items off that character? will it be feelsbad if something really cool drops that I'd want to use on a different run?
If you're solo, you can't party or trade. You can stash items for your other characters though (if playing online)
Only other solo ticked characters*
what exactly does online mean in that case? i saw that they're going to distinguish between "account found" and "character found" but didn't really understand it
No character found yet
So you can either play offline, which remains as it is now - character found. Online however becomes account found
ah and that will be available with the patch, right?
Yeah it asks you if you want to go online or not
ok thank you!
You can transfer items from solo mode to regular mode, just not the other way around. Offline solo (character found) can't transfer to other solo characters, but online solo can (account found).
just started playing, and I'm gonna check out all characters for half an hour each or so. can i basically really just pick any skill that I like to use as "main" skill? I like experimenting, but the one advice I read was that respeccing my "main skill" is something one should avoid as a new player
Yeah just pick whatever, but half an hour won't really give you a huge amount of skills to test
Not every skill can be used as a "main skill", but yeah basically. As said above, half an hour and you probably won't get to mastery selection yet.
oh, no, that's just about which class I want to play
I think it's going to be Sentinel
Sentinel is a great class to start the game as, especially if you are not super familiar with ARPGs in general
so, on choosing a "main" skill (for the time being): I was hoping I could just pick some skill that feels good to me and also clears well and invest the points into it. or is there a better way to distinguish between those well-suited for that vs others?
Hey Guys. Quick question: is it worth to start With a new Character? Or should i wait until 0.9? Or is there No reason to wait? Idk, because i want also playing Multiplayer then
If you want to learn a little bit before 0.9 comes out feel free, but nothing you do now will carry to multiplayer
How many of the changes in the patch notes were in the betas?
It's been a long while since I played and I didn't get to do much with the betas so I'm unsure
Aside from skills that just don't deal damage, some skills are intended as supporting abilities primarily. These skills just have really high mana cost and/or cooldown that make them impractical to use too often. Many of those can be modified to have lower cooldown/cost to be used as a main skill - this is usually through the skill's spec tree and comes with drawbacks.
Skill spec trees in general can have things that massively change the skill's mechanics, so when looking for a skill that feels good to use, keep in mind that some skills are more 'customizable' than others and you'll need to look at the spec tree to know what's available.
Most of them, however it seems like a fair amount of skill node changes were not in yet.
as a new player to this game, jumping straight into hc, is there a stand out class that is more tanky and more forgiving to play than others? i dont mind dying, but i think playing something tanky to learn mechanics is probably a good idea
Technically speaking, Druid has the highest EHP afaik, but "tanky" can be acquired by all classes easily provided you have the items.
For a totally new player, I would say sentinel in general is the most forgiving. You get a lot of free defenses. Paladin gets more free defenses and Void Knight gets a good amount of easy sustain. Primalist -> Druid is another good option as mentioned above.
gotcha. i actually asked the same thing in-game yesterday and i just wanted to ask here as well just just to be sure and people said the same thing in-game, basically druid and paladin
like crit avoid and resists
Rogue can be surprisingly tough as well on the high end of building. But again, really likes items for that
i see, yeah. ill be playing solo hc, so maybe later on when i get more items together i can try other classes, but druid and paladin sounds like good starter classes
Yeah, absolutely any class can be built tanky. Rogue certainly can as well, though I don't recommend relying on dodge for HC.
i see on the ladder that "waves" are what matters the most, i dont know how that works exactly, but i assume this game is much like d2 and PoE where if you are getting shat on, you can just exit out to save yourself?
That's arena. And uh.... you'll have to log I suppose. You can't just leave the arena itself on a whim.
you cant portal? but you can exit the game like in d2/poe?
Actually... you might be able to portal, but it is heavily incentivized to only leave after the intervals in endless
i'd much prefer that, over d3 where you can do that
At very high waves, you will die when touched. As long as you can log before that happens, yeah you should be safe.
also like arena is a small portion of the endgame
the ladder wont even be live this patch
Arena sucks
ok, well i appreciate the answers 🙂 im sure ill find out one way or another 😄
oh ok, i just saw on the ladder that waves were like, what it was sorted by and figured it was "the" endgame
the real endgame push is "corruption" where your basically infinitely scale your maps
Oh yeah that's right, they hit an issue with the ladder so it won't be live until a future content patch.
Nah. Real endgame is monoliths, which are sort of a mix between rifts and maps.
interesting
And then there's dungeons, specifically T4, where shit hurts
yea t4 dungeons are the challenge event EHG is running
sounds like the endgame in this game is more expansive than d3 at least, which.. thank f#ck, running rifts all day is boring af
Yeah, highly recommend learning the dungeons on SC before attempting HC unless you don't mind remaking high level characters
^^ noted
i havent played d3 but the endgame is solid, much less expansive than poe
PoE is my main game, and has been since 2011. I don't expect this game to take over that position or anything, but something to play in the off-time so all good
yep same
Yeah, more to do than just monoliths, but nothing really pops up in echoes (LE equivalent to maps) yet except shrines (similar to PoE shrines)
i just never bothered with this game before, because just like grim dawn, i dont like that you can just adjust your character with an editor
Not anymore
that's exactly why im here now 🙂
really? ok. feels nice at the start, but i never got past lvl 20 so i dont know anything about this game basically
in PoE, you NEED an item filter. do i have to bother in this game?
Well combat in poe was always awful, in many cases you cant even react to things or dont even see the death approaching. Visuals are all over the place and its too fast, so its a low bar
Yeah, LE has a lot of QoL that makes it hard to go back. The combat pace (just my opinion) and ability to see what's going on most of the time is also a lot nicer.
Yepp
sounds good
item filters are more of a personal thing you can design using an in game interface
or you can use ppl's presets and modify them for your needs
ok, i dont see it in the options anywhere, i might be blind or it becomes available later?
Shift+F
Shift+F
i see. so i cant see peoples presets ingame?
No, that'd be a huge headache honestly.
k, ill just leave it alone for now, since i dont know shit 😛
You can just import via file or (if it's on like pastebin or something) copy paste it in the import options
The filter is like a middle ground between PoE and GD. Pretty easy to make/modify your own, but has a lot of power. I'm pretty sure Heavy maintains a pretty good filter template for general use, can be found online
gotcha. is there like a filter god out there and everyone uses this guys filters? :p
hi, i'm new to the game, started a few characters to decide what i wanted to play on thursday, my furthest being a level 81 that got to the age of winter monolith.
my question is when to prioritize the different end game systems, IE when do i arena, when do i dungeon, and when do i just grind monoliths.
Also, is it generally always a good idea to reset the web and increase corruption if i can handle it?
Nope, increase corruption only in empowered monoliths, it's pointless in normals. Prioritize however you feel like it, really.
so it does reset when going to empowered
cool
do those just unlock when i complete all normal ones?
Only need to do the 3 that are level 90 to get empowered
do people generally rush them ASAP, or spend time gearing up in lower level ones (sorry if annoying)
Yeah, empowered starts at 100c, and ideally builds should be able to comfortably run 200c at a minimum
Most people rush em
The optimal thing to do is rush, but imo do whatever you find is fun
heavy has a list of generic filters on the forums, but youll want to extensively customize them to highlight affixes important to your build
e.g. +levels to w/e skill you're using or an idol you may need
and the main reason to rush empowered is it gets you access to more character power through more/exclusive drops, better blessings, and target farming options
i see, im just gonna leave it alone for now and see how it goes, but noted. another thing, in solo mode, is my stuff not shared with other chars? i guess in this game there's no trade, so i guess thats what solo in this game means
In offline it is for only that character. In online it is shared but no party allowed.
Online solo functions essentially identical to PoE SSF
oh ok, so in 0.9 solo hc is basically ssf?
Yeah
good to know
I think they want character only solo eventually in online but just haven't figured it out yet
k
Yeah, they have said that. They are also changing solo to be called character found, so I think the idea is you'll eventually be able to choose character found or account found in online mode.
didnt take long to decide to hide white items. but how is crafting in this game? do i need white items for crafting later on?
Nah, most people end up crafting on rares and exalted that drop with 1-2 affixes (or even 3 if they're lucky) they already need
nice, ok
Magic items with 2 T4-5 affixes you need are also totally viable crafting bases, but they are rare enough you can ignore them. I usually only bother with magic items for salvaging purposes.
Has this been covered already? Can I make a basic filter for rarity / resistances / class / etc that will work for 0.9? Or should I just wait?
lf someone that is bored and has experience with loot filters. need some input for my tool.
0.9 is introducing new base types and probably other changes which would require you to remake/change it a bit.
so, warpath has 40% less chance to apply ailments, but hits twice as fast. So it's still better overall for applying ailments? lol
lolll
Do I understand it right that I should avoid speccing into skilltree nodes which improve the skills' mana efficiency if I specced into passives which capitalize on said skills' mana cost?
doesnt that just fully depend on the skill. You invest into mana until it isnt an issue anymore
i assume not, but is there a way to change a character's name?
you can email support
how does vaions chariot boots interact with warpath?
is it for just 1 hit? or is it 40% more damage the whole time you're channeling?
I have notepad for character names
for offline characters (everything that currently exists) you'd need to edit the save file- support can't change files on your computer
for online characters in the future, it's probably a contact support angle
but idk what their policy will be on that
first hit
Hello hello is Spirit Plague still a good skill for leveling after all the changes ?
@brittle atlas thanks
mike w just said 'should be the whole thing'
so confusing, google doesn't tell me anything lol
just wondering if those boots are worth farming for warpath
unless it's different/was changed again when they reworked warpath, it has historically only been the first hit for temporary buffs like that
warpath was actually one of the few cases that didn't snapshot
ok thanks, ill just take precaution and not farm it lol
maybe i'll farm it when there is absolutely nothing else to do, thanks
yeah eternal eclipse is also the only first hit on warpath
theres a few things that owuld be absurdly broken if warpath snapshotted
Im reading the wiki and the beginners guide, its giving a lot of good info but i do not see a good break down on how to itemize via attributes. What I mean is, should I prioritize raw Int as a mage over % lightning damage at what break points? I see the attribute portion of the guide but it really doesnt give a whole lot of info.
int gives 4% damage per point
but other things also beenfit from int
its build dependant
Depends on your build. We can't give you a "this is the rule" answer.
Like ward
So 4% per point, seems pretty valuable as to how its interacting with things like ward and what not.
OK at least that will help me make an educated guess, thanks guys.
Again, build dependant.
Im a lightning Sorc Mage
Or attempting, not using any build guides as Im trying to build from scratch to better learn the system
There's also sometimes effects like passives and uniques that depend on int, like vilatria's set
I did notice that under the ward information for Sorc passives.
do bleeds/poisons stack infinitely or is there a cap?
There is no real cap, as fast as you can apply is as fast as you get more. Poison's shred effect caps at 30 stacks though.
Bleed doesn't have an inherent effect afaik
if you phys shred will bleed do more damage?
The cap for poison shred is applying with 0.9, otherwise it's almost identical to how it is now with just some difference in numbers.
Yes.
ty!!
Hi everyone, if my friend uses warcry with this node, does my own minions get the buff?
No, it says you and your
That one should, yeah
🤩
Hi, does anyone know the interaction between singularity and world ender? Essentially does the 100% LESS crit chance prevent guaranteed crits?
Then why is there grey text underneath?
Because it's an explanation on how it functions
I'd check with someone who may know better than I do though.
@cold plaza would you happen to know for sure?
You will not crit
Thanks
a lot of the nodes that are like 'you will always crit' and stuff, are generally just +100% critical strike chance
so things like blind, or singularity, will make them not crit always
are there monsters that apply blind ?
dont think so
but if you give your minion the 'always crit' node in dread shade, and the 'blind' node, it doesnt always crit
im assuming bleeds and poisons are dots right? so would "increased damage over time" increase the damage bleeds do? also how do you determine bleed damage?
is it just based on base melee damage?
DoTs in this game have their own base damage
And yes, inc dot would increase bleed damage
What hard-core char would compliment a tank sentinel?
another tank sentinel

Smelter’s Wrath?
I guess the cone thing is Smelter's Wrath, but what about that gigantic explosion that happens afterwards?
is armor shred worth having if ur applying bleed or is that only against a hit? im assuming if you applying bleed phys shred is all that matters right?
armor shred does nothing for dots
hmmm seems like Detonation node
Let say that i Play a leveling build at what lvl is good to change to build that icwwnt to Play in late game ? 🤔
I'd say its more about gear than level
it depends on the build/class/your gear/your game knowledge/etc
there's not any easy answer to it
yeah thats way too broad of a question
Attunement is one of the Character Stats which grants 2 mana per point and improves skills that rely on innate magic inside the character and its surroundings. Can anyone give me a better explanation to attunement than the guide?
Question: I'm in the internal test, but haven't played in a very long time. Tried logging on today to play, but the Play Online button doesn't do anything, but load. Any ideas?
paladin and primalist spell damage stat
Thanks.
skill descriptions will say what bonuses they get from attributes
(also applies to most of their minion skills and some attacks. but yes you have to check each individual skill to see which attributes scale it and how, it's done case by case)
the internaltest does not exist anymore, you neeed to go to your steam betas and disable it
Thanks.
I assume empower blessings overwrite normal blessings ?
So dont bother farming normal monoliths
Roger ty
For multiplayer launch on the 9th, is the only way people can group up via invite? Like is there no game lobby / open area / anything?
none of those will exist for 0.9. it sounds like something along these lines will be added in future
if you have 38% damage reflected does that include dots or is it only hits that have their damage reflected?
Damn. I probably jumped the gun. I have loosely followed this game off and on, and have been patiently waiting for MP release. It's finally here, but current launch patch for it is missing pretty much everything I want out of a MP ARPG. No game lobby / public grouping, and no trading. I have been trying to talk people I know into trying the game to at least try some of the grouping aspects, but not having a lot of luck currently. So effectively I'd still be playing this as a SP game. 😩
how does monster lvl work in this game? i dont see monster level anywhere. do everything scale with your level? so could you technically just run through the campaign or how does it work?
near the map in the top right
each campaign zone has a set level
if you're using the overlay map
each monolith timeline has a set level, all empowered timelines are level 100
ooh, it shows only with overlay, i see now thx
I believe it works with dots too? percent reflect is pretty weak in general though because it works off post-mitigation damage and doesn't scale with anything
there's a kind of ok but janky flat reflect druid build
gotcha. does bleed scale just off flat melee damage or will % phys damage increase bleed damage?
Melee damage doesn't affect bleed, poison, ignite, or any other DoT effect.
Melee damage affects melee.
Melee physical affects bleed atleast from the gear im using currently
ig its the phys part of it?
so phys increases bleed but not melee is what im understanding?
Increased phys yes, flat melee phys no
%phys yes, %melee phys no
why does the build planner increase bleed damage with flat/% melee phys is it just wrong?
its adding my flat melee phys as a part of the base bleed damage
chance to apply doom and increased doom effect change DPS on your skills? I just put this siphon of anguish ring on and it basically only has leech + doom affixes, and my DPS went up over
Tooltip calculates DoT poorly
yeah, i was gonna say. .9 patch notes say it's fixed? hopefully
what's that
build planner
o
I don't know why the flat is applying but the others are because if you apply bleed with a melee skill it inherits any generic damage applied to the skill.
im wondering if since im using melee skills to apply its applying the flat melee phys?
It shouldn't as far as I know, because bleed isn't applicable with that
Is it time for a Dammitt ping?
bleed is based of the melee damage though right? so if the melee phys damage is applyied to the hit wouldnt a portion of it apply to the bleed
It is not
Bleed has its own damage numbers
All ailments have their own damage numbers
interesting
i mean the planner still isnt up to date with the 0.9 changes 100% so maybe its something that will get tweaked
no the planner will get tweaked and fixed
Ah, that's another thing entirely. Dammitt may not be aware of the issue, who knows.
notably, it's listing the base there, but not applying it
53 base is the normal number
you are correct. so i guess it just puts the text there but isnt applying. that works for me
Aye - definitely time to ping @bronze ocean, though I'm sure it's already on the list somewhere.
So you don't have to go hunting: Bleed ailment is inheriting Melee Flat and Increased Damage modifiers
what is that mage spell at 6:06 in the patch overview video? 🤔
Cold static orb with storm artillery node
noice
Not a true wipe, but you will have to create new characters to play Online. Your current Offline characters should remain accessible and ready to continue playing offline.
Ok, thanks. No one cares about offline so its a wipe for me 😄
For pretty much everyone, it is.
I mean, there are people who do care about offline
Anyone using GeforceNow have issues syncing steam cloud? It says synced but on my home pc its not. Works fine for other games.
How is late game exp gain in this game, is reaching 100 comparable to poe or shorter/longer usually?
much shorter
and there's no xp loss on death
at least compared to hitting 100 in poe via mapping
100 in LE is like 15-20 hours from character creation
if that
thats cool, thanks!
That... depends on a number of factors...
15-20 hours from character creation sounds like it would go in #⏱┃speedrunning
Exp in monos now will be huge
When filling out your elemental resists do you guys use the "all elemental resists" affix or just do two elemental affixes on your gear?
depends on the character, generally I'd use something like 1x phys res and something else, but depends on the class and what they get from passives/implicits
Yeah, depends. You can always do the math to see which gets you to cap in the fewest affix slots.
You might also end up with a super good exalted item with a single elemental resist, which would change things up
Right now I'm pretty much getting all my resists exclusively from gear on the Rogue. Not sure what would be more space efficient since there's no easy way to check values on highest tiers and compare them
Rogue has less passive tree support for resistances than other classes
there's an example rogue
For example a T1 "all elemental resists" will give me 5% fire, cold and lightning resists which de facto means 15% "total value" but I don't know how much resists would each of respective t1 affixes will give me because again no easy way to compare these
that's kind of the baseline I'm working with then figuring out blessings/bases for rogue
I'll just say that elemental resist gives you overall more per affix. If you aren't getting the full tri-elemental benefit from it though and can't cap in one affix, singles may be better
imo, elemental isn't something you need to think about
what is a traversal skill? is that a movement skill?
Generally yes, or skills that you make movement skills in their tree
i looked at patch notes, it doesn't really make sense
There's no "all res" for non elemental stuff so I don't have a problem in trying to tell what's more efficient here since there's only one way to get these resists
There's a list of all traversal skills right where it explains what traversal is
if it counts as a traversal skill, will it have a movement tag?
There is. It's on Shields.
certain skills have or get the traversal tag. Skills with the traversal tag share a cooldown.
Traversal is movement
so if i use that unique charriot boots, will that give traversal skills more damage?
if it says that, yes
traversal skills are movement skills, so yes
why don't they just call traversal skills movement skills?
if it says "movement" then it would be movement skills only
Right. But besides that one exception non-elemental resists are pretty straightforward
because not all movement skills are traversal skills
but all traversal skills are movement skills?
yep
ok thanks, coming up with new build ideas lol
Warpath for example is 'movement' not 'traversal'
thinking of using the voidcleave traversal skill with that chariot boots
Very original
Doesn't seem very spicy... better off just going Eclipse.
the new voidcleave traveral skill node isn't clear, does it hit everything along its path? or does it just teleport you now?
does vaion's care about the traversal tag now?
it's possible you don't need to take it to use vaion's w/ void cleave
unless you specifically want to
but void cleave is already a movement skill I'm pretty sure
oh i never noticed lol
holy shit i never realized it was a movement skill
because it never moved me anywhere lol
That little hop forward. That's movement
Erasing Strike Doesn't move you, Void Cleave does...
Dreamthorn/Darkstride till you hit 70? For Eternal Eclipse.
got a lot of theorycrafting to do lol
I don't know, eclipse implies to use warpath and I hate warpath
Why would it imply warpath? just take the fire node on voidcleave?
80% more damage if you warpath for 2 seconds before cleave
I mean... that's like saying it implies multistrike cause you get extra damage per armament stack...
You can't rely on cleave purely
You also need sigils for the 150% melee damage buff
You need to time it correctly to be efficient
Thats why I hate this build
But I hate warpath more
I see... the whole... 2 seconds for big damage on eclipse thing.
man void cleave's CD makes it so you can't really get 20 void penetration stacks.
anyone know if there's an advantage to buying the game on the website vs steam?
you're gonna get a steam game either way
^
I think you could technically buy a higher tier pack on the website?
but you get a steam code either way
and will be playing through steam in the future
The only advantage that i'm aware of is that you're not giving money to Gaben
Though if you're going to get a steam key anyway that means steam support will probably give you a hard time about refunding if you don't like the game after 2 hours
if i played Diablo 3 and loved it but then i tried POE and hated it for its complexity. would i like or dislike LE?
in terms of complexity? like is the UI easy on the eyes are the items easy to understand etc
LE crafting is very intuitive.
you have 2 prefixes and 2 suffixes per item.
5 tiers that you can craft, with tier 6 and tier 7 being drop only (called exalted).
o
and you can take an exalted item and slap its afixes onto a unique with legendary potential.
are there good community made websites for things like builds or general good armor/weapons to get or skill picker etc etc
lastepochtools is the go-to
is exalted higher then legendary?
oh
No, legendary is Unique fused with an exalted.
oooo
so legendary is technically the highest?
^ but LE is forgiving enough that you can pretty much play whatever looks interesting to you
can u get legendary dropped in game?
No, you have to make them
can i respec easily?
Everything except mastery is easily respeccable
You can respec everything but your mastery class.
mastery classes are like subclasses right?
yeah. so like for the mage you have Sorc and Spellblade.
once you pick one of those you're stuck with it.
Dont forget runemaster next patch
1.0, not next patch
ehhh...
There's three total missing masteries, they are confirmed to be coming with 1.0
Deias lurking every channel to correct me
1.0 Might be 8 months but probably more.
I just go where the funny text lights up
I mean, next patch after 0.9 is designated as 0.9.1 already, so saying next patch is not right. Next major patch would be a bit more apt, I'd say.
so i assume i should look up builds after 0.9 or are not a lot of skills getting changes?
There's a lot of changes
You are fun
lots of changes. 10000 words of patch notes
Thanks for the ping! Apparently this bug always existed in planner :/ I've fixed it internally and it will roll out with the next update.
I swear
Tons of changes
Dammitt doing things
10k
10k
holy
10,000
10k
Many words.
all the words.
Many many words
did someone make a YT breakdown of it lol?
And I read them all. Probably retained like 2% of them.
Dr3ad did
Yeah, the devs did.
oh cool
are there builds based around certian armor pieces/weapons? stuff that i can target farm for
A lot of stuff needs to be properly tested and implemented into the planner before we can get a full detailed breakdown, I think
There are build enabling uniques, yes.
There's a lot of stat stick uniques and then there's a lot that alter a playstyle as a whole. Really depends on what you're looking at.
Target farming isn't really a thing until you've cleared Normal Monoliths.
Yeah.
They start lower leveled but they have tiers, so tier 3-4 is where I would say they become endgame.
Monos are the core gameplay loop, so yes
o
Nobody's forcing you to do anything... but yes.
You'll get a fucking lot of dungeon keys in endgame though
If I picked up every key I found I could probably fill a few more tabs of them, I already have one full.
know any Youtube LE content creators?
woah
Dr3adful
LizardIRL
Does Perry make videos? I'm not sure. Same on McFluffin.
sick
Knowledgeable folks all around there
Mcfluffin has the le university series
Stat stick unique
Playstyle change
Also playstyle change
Dual wielding Jelkhor's is like... my dream
What?
It's so fun kaze
I did it. It's funny.
can someone explain using a dagger with a bow? lol
You don't have the bow, it converts the skill to a melee skill
Its still fucking weird though
It does have a weird tree as a result though
Very
I had like 53 points in base Rogue or some shit
Yeah the passive tree is.... so weird.
You basically ignore your mastery lol
With crit vuln nerfs do we even take that deias?
i assume theres a inspect button right? does it switch stats based on what skills u have equipped? like if i have firebolt and i have a piece of gear that says firebolt does 10% more crit chance would i see that stat correctly in the inspect menu?
Well yeah, it's still 20% flat crit
Arborus or someone was talking about ailments with it
oh, tooltips should be ignored.
Which might be better
....character sheet? It's getting reworked to be more accurate.
As for how gear works, most things don't have "x% skill dedicated crit/damage"
damage tooltips are DPS, shown when you hover over your skill, and are generally wrong.
reworked in 0.9?
Future, I think. They're working on getting minions working on it and such.
oooo thats nice tho
Which is a technical nightmare from my understanding
I don't think so. I was getting 120k damage on disintegrate with just the skull and amulet...
DoTs are MASSIVELY inflated on tooltip, they are aware and I think they did some work on those to reflect uh... not insane numbers in 0.9
Anyway, point is, for now, ignore the damage on your tooltip. It's not accurate.
is there a class that has companions but u dont summon them?
Falconer??? But it's not out yet...
Beastmaster has many animals
o
You still have to "summon" them but unlike Necro's minions you can revive them by standing next to them instead of resummoning when they die.
Or have that axe.
Harthenon's?
yeah
Funny immortality axe for early game
I mean... I've never played Primalist and I give that axe to any toon I'm leveling up.
Harthenon's doesn't change how you revive Companions - that's Hakar's Phoenix
whats the most versatile class atm?
