I would like to see corruption scale for gold in monolith for fully offline, since bazaar is useless in offline mode, and in online mode this would create huge inflation. Is that to much to ask? Will be this added in future to offset offline bazar faction?

It looks like you got it sorted. I don't think we have the option on twitch to keep them longer because we aren't the highest tier of streaming or something. One of them this year did get missed to move over to YouTube. It's part of the reason we are streaming on YouTube now so it's automatic long term saved.

It gives us new ways to make zones yes. We will still make many zones by hand. It didn't happen because of the engine upgrade, it's just something we've wanted to do for a long time and this long dev cycle was what we needed to get it done.
PoE2's WASD is still better. We will be improving ours. It's why we are calling it WASD beta. It's very bare bones. It's basically like if you mapped w to joystick up and a to joystick left etc.
tbf they designed poe2 from the ground up with WASD in mind

i believe you previously answered a question about the weaver nodes that make certain things (like the nemesis for example) spawn more often and said that it uses the weaver tree from the timeline's owner to determine what should spawn.
Is that the case for all weaver nodes? for example, does the one that gives WW items a chance to have a lucky WW rating only work if the timeline owner has it?

If you make a change to the tab or (iirc) move an item within the tab it will be the one to open when you next use the stash. You can just right click the tab and hit accept on the edit menu to force this. Agree a "default" tab checkbox or something would be nice though

We know that enemy dot scaling has been changed by the following: 15% less damage overall and 50% less corruption scaling. How does this affect endless arena? You would obviously benefit from the 15% overall less damage, but does the 50% less from corruption scaling also apply?

Is it possible to disable right-click to equip? It seems I'm not the only one who has asked this. Every single time I use it, it's on accident and last time it lead to me merching a piece of gear but by the time I noticed, it was gone from the buyback panel. Rune powercore doesn't give extra runic energy when you change the order but not the individual count of runes. Like for example going from L-C-F to C-F-L. I was wondering why it was done this way and if it's possibly subject to change.

So it's basically an optics thing? As in just because there are items listed for unreasonable prices (that no one's buying anymore) people get discouraged thinking that's what items are getting listed for currently and as such don't engage?
Because if someone lists an item today for those prices it's never selling forcing them to either re-list or just never sell it, giving them context for subsequent items that they should most likely lower the price.
If this is the current state if the legacy market, it's probably very difficult to understand an appropriate price to list an item
This isn't an unreasonable complaint especially in absence of built-in price and sales stats in the market UI (compare say to Albion Online for a decent and simple implementation), but I guess this isn't the right channel for discussion

For the imprint in the weaver tree, does "creating similar items" mean dropping more of that base type or does it also use the affixes?
It takes the item and changes some number of random properties in some way. So it could be as similar as identical and as different as sharing just a couple things. Both extremes are very rare.

Have you guys considered doing periodic/rotating sales on certain items in the mtx shop or do you think that might cause some unhealthy FOMO or something similar? I'm sure it's been considered. We have the systems in place for it. I'm not sure why it hasn't been done. I don't see anything wrong with putting stuff on sale every now and then. I think the issue comes when something is mostly on sale and the "regular price" is actually just anchoring to make the sale feel better.
Yeah personally I like wide sales during special events and stuff more becasue if you know that something will eventually go on sale through a rotating sale system or whatever you'll just wait until it goes on sale, at which point it might as well just be the sale price all the time. Atleast that's my view on it. Kinda like how everyone waits until a tab sale to buy stash tabs in poe (they happen like once a month or so iirc)
a question regarding the cocoons that can appear in the new Tombs/cemeteries of the Erased, can only one cocoon appear per area? and if more than 1 can appear, can more than one soul possess a monster? i.e. you intentionally let monsters chase you near a cocoon and have them get possessed then intentionally let them chase you to another cocoon to stack more souls on them for higher rewards
Multiple cocoons can appear in 1 zone. Souls can only possess non-possessed enemies.

what does the number of Heretical affixes (1 or 2) enchanted on an idol depend on? Pure random?
They get converted from something called weaver's touch

"Heretical idols can have up to 4 affixes - 2 normal affixes with no tiers and 2 enchanted affixes" - 2 enchanted affixes.

I just had to get approval to explain what Weaver's Touch is. It's Weaver's Will for Idols. You get the second affix revealed over time.

love the new idol system. idols have always been the hardest gearing part for me in LE
as you gain xp, weaver's touch on your idols will convert into tiers of a second enchanted affix. just like weaver's will does for items.

Weaver tree allows us to imprint items to increase our chances to find certain bases. I believe you said that the imprinted item needs to be in our inventory. With this being said, is it possible to imprint the very, let's say, amulet that we are currently using? Also, could e expect that in the future the item would stay in the weaver tree item box?

You have to finish a Cemetery to be able to slot Woven echoes into the timelines web, correct? So I can't slot a new cool Woven echo into the web right away when I get it, I gotta jump some hoops, right?
Imprinting an item just saves a snapshot of it to the imprint slot. You can keep wearing the item or even craft or shatter it and that will not affect the imprint. You can overwrite the imprint at any time and it will make a new snapshot.
They would if we didn't make some new small idols too 😉

Yeah, since you want to slam idols you'll want to go there anyway, but it is a little PoE2-Tower-coded, can't just slam Woven echo and go, it's kinda making sure you're far enough along the web to get distance bonuses and then Tetrising the most optimal echoes at the moment, maybe not engaging with the mechanic until you're at the edge of echo. I trust you guys it's gonna work out, but the design is a bit against the "slam and go" and more towards "wait wait wait puzzle solve go"

a bit of a selfish question maybe, but with the way EHG tries to thematically fit things together I am curious why there are virtually no ways to "spread" fire around. I mean its inherently how fire works.. yet we are limited in what we can do to fufill that screen wide burning and exploding fantasy. was trying to make it work with spreading flames but it appears you can't scale its base damage an due to it being an ailament it can't proc things like ignite or other damage types that can scale. Really wanting that firestarter power fantasy but really have no options, unless im overlooking something??? Overall great game really hyped for the update keep up the hard work, and get those 500,000 servers ready for the 17th 🙂

Spreading flames is scaled just like ignite, with % increased fire damage and the more multipliers of the skill that caused it.
You could also use and spread witch fire from warlock
wow ok I was told you can't scale its damage and I have to say I don't really seeing it scaling well even when I am using the right modifiers my ignites do way more .... maybe because of the stacking but spreading flames falls off hard really quick. (damage wise)
It does scale, but yeah just not very well since you an only apply one instance so you gotta rely on its base damage (which is low for endgame) way more than other ailments
Since echoes are pretty bite sized, we wanted to avoid the feeling that you needed to stop between every single echo and set up your next one. The natural play pattern without seeking out specific content will have you able to place them every so often, but if you get a drop that you really want to place and run immediately, there's ways to force access to being able to place them quickly (and you'll be getting other rewards besides just the ability to place them in doing so). Typically, you'll probably place a series of them all at once (i.e. plan out your next handful of echoes), then run those as a group back to back. Late game, you will not be lacking in woven echoes to place or access to place them.
I recomend starting Warlock next patch if you're after this type of power fantasy.

the reason I think that the harbingers is possible is because it's directly linked to your faction progress which is relatively easy to parse. I'm also not sure if we are allowed to share the data if it is possible.
I don't even want specific numbers, I just wanted like a ballpark esitmate because a while ago you said only like 1% of people got to 300c or something like that, and it blew my mind. So I was wondering if it changed at all with the Harbingers getting introduced.

I think 15-20 hours is a pretty big outlier for time to first monolith. There is also more new content that happens throughout the campaign.
Monolith are not 15hours in the game. But more probably a few hours if you already know what you are doing. If not everything is new so no problem.

Had a question for the new unique Nest of Nightmares showcased in the latest news post and how it interacts with Forged weapons.
- Is the chance to apply spiders on melee hit given to Forge Weapons? (I'm guessing yes as it is an ailment and other ailments like spreading flames can be applied by FW)
- How does the shared modifiers (leech and crit multi) apply to Forged weapons? It should have double effect for them correct? As if I am not wrong these type of modifiers are typically two modifiers in one (38% melee crit multi and 38% melee crit multi for minions).

I think in one of the dev streams you mentioned that you guys might be bringing the new procedural generation tech into dungeons. If that happens do you think we might see more dungeons? Since when they first came out it kinda felt like they would be used for a lot of the stuff that we're seeing woven echoes take the role of (obviously a whole dungeon run might result in a more substantial mechanic compared to a woven echo but I still think the gist is similar). I'm guessing the main reason for us not getting more of them since they were first introduced is because they're just a lot of work and because of the aforementioned tech stuff. Or maybe you guys just wanted to wait for more campaign to have somewhere to put them? Would love to hear your thoughts about dungeons current state and their future in the game since (and this might surprise some) I actually think they're one of the coolest things about the game.

We've been trying to broaden it. Part of the problem is that some abilities have specific weapon restrictions, Void Cleave with a cosmetic mace looks kinda weird.

- because it scales off of weaver's will item equipped, the forged weapons don't benefit from it.
- they do get both halves of it but they don't get triple, they get the minion part because they are minions and then they get the normal part because they inherrit the stat. Their minions also get the minion stat but they don't have any minions to buff.
I'm no expert at all with it and maybe something has happened more recently than the one I'm thinking of but I don't think that actually affects us. (assuming I'm thinking of the right thing)
I think we were also already almost doing all of the things they mentioned anyways though.

No, it's an alter at the end of the echo that you can only use while you are there. It's very accessible though.
Yea, I remember when it was announced and I don't know the specifics of what it explicitly requires. I think that because our Epoch points are a fixed rate and you don't get a discount for buying in bulk the price is clear. If there is something that we are required to change, we will comply with that. I'm sorry, I really don't know the details.

Is LE / EHG making enough money to sustain the cost of servers / development ? (without doing any predatory methods : 100$ to play 4 days before lunch - many DLC, subscriptions...) Will you ask for "a push / help (via skins)" when it goes "in red" or are will you prefer finding private investors if needed ? (The LE ship should never sink!)
Those practices have been popularized because they work. We've always tried to approach our pricing and MTX in a fair manner. I think the best way for us to keep the boat afloat is just to make the best game we can and offer people stuff that is worth spending money on.
Hey Mike, is the champion affix increasing the maximum number of shadow allowing the bladedancer to go from 5 to 6, or it's still hard-capped at 5? (which would defeat the purpose of the affix for them)
(since i cant post a screenshot, it's the one giving +x dodge rating and +1 maximum shadow, showed as mirage champion arcane bracers)
+1 max shadows increases your maximum shadows by 1. It doesn't have a hard cap.
So it's been stated that Weaver's faction and the Forgotten Knight faction will be mutually exclusive. Is there a penalty for swapping? If not, won't people just feel like they have to swap before doing certain content?
Sorry for the confusion but they are not mutually exlusive. You can do both simultaneously.

im not sure if this is the right channel to ask this but have you guys made improvements on server stability and capacity recently? have been seeing more and more people say they want to try last epoch and was wondering if anything was done after 1.0 to lessen how severe server issues can be on launch. obviously offline mode will always be there but it still can have an impact on player retention
yes they fixed the issues that were in 1.0 launch and are as prepared as they can be.
1.1 and 1.1 reset were pretty smooth server wise

No, the current ones are all individual.
So can each monolith have it's own weavers tree attached to it?
The mechanics are really end game targeted. We didn't want to throw too many things at new players right away. Thematically they fit really well in the story at that point and interacting with them too early is a bit of a trap because the xp gain rate early is so low compared to monolith.
I would like to push back on it being punishing early game. You can pretty confidently respec skills early without too much consequence. Having a well put together build is much more important late game.
The weavers tree unlocks stash wide and is allocated character wide.

We haven't shared specifics of what the enchants will bring. +1 max companion in too strong for an idol because you could get multiples of them.

That looks like the old Kickstarter page to me. Those are the things we had planned way back when. Many things have changed since then. As Kain said, we do still want to add achievements and it is a requirement for a console release, another thing we want to do still. That link also says PvP and only 10 masteries. Our development process is heavily tied to feedback from our community and many other features have risen above these things in priority.
I think we would have a much worse game overall if we had rigidly stuck to the original pitch on the kickstart page.
1 more thing, with the new woven echoes/tree, would they apply to boss drops? as such, would boss drops be easier to farm if set up to target them? thanks ❤️

But, with the back end changes and server host changes, what's the plan look like roughly for scaling up or down, as demand floods on in April 17? I'd imagine there's gonna be a influx of new and excited players, some from poe2, some elsewhere, and returning players. I think Mike did say there's be some manner of contingency plan should things get rough load wise?

They have been talked about, this answer was from just two or three weeks ago so relatively recent.
They know a community hub in LE would be popular, but so would finally getting in achievements, new skills, new masteries, new base classes, WASD controls, etc 🙂

When the game first launched there wasn't even an online multiplayer mode, that was tested and implemented starting from 0.7 through to 0.9 I think (if my old man memory fails me I am sure I will be corrected).
So with zero multiplayer content there was also zero reason to have guilds/clans
The idea has popular traction, it gets asked for enough that the fact they are having internal plans/discussions on its implementation are a good thing

They did not have a reason to think about guilds until recently as they have no idea what to put in except as a group chat since they did not want any multiplayer-only content and they did not want a free guild stash.
Will there be any updates or improvements to skill VFX and impact sounds in Season 2? I recently saw the new lightning spear throw skill in PoE2, and both the visuals and impact audio were incredibly satisfying — really made the skill feel powerful. Just wondering if there's anything like that coming to Last Epoch.

With the Weaver was introduced the notion of "Titan" as we know he is one. Are Eterra or Orobyss Titans as well ? Can any entity ascend to TItanhood or is it a native trait ? If it's a native trait where are Titans from ?
Titan is basically a class of really big creatures from the ancient era that were almost entirely killed off by the divine era gods. Eterra and Orobyss/Observer are gods too, not titans. Eterra probably created the titans along with the rest of the world, going off what The Observer says (she also created all the divine era gods).
The lightless arbor dungeon boss and giant worm the Imperials drain blood from to power their artificial waypoint are both titans. The dragons could be considered titans, too.

with the new rune that switches the tiers of the affixes i've just realized that COF at some point will only be interested in any Exalted with any T7 affix and 1 or 2 of the affix they want of any tier. with the current lootfilter though, you can't select for only T7 while excluding T6, and also specifying other affixes at any tier.
I wonder if the team has created a new item rarity type for T7 Exalted. It's being added in 1.2 or should I add it to the suggestions?
you can do rule that hides all T6 items so you would only see the T7 exalted. Also they are calling it Season 2, they've moved on from the 1.2 naming.

Technically the answer is no. HOWEVER, it does work exactly how you want it to. The triggered version does not cause you to stop and directly cast the ability. While you are moving and channeling warpath, Devouring Orb does automatically trigger and you Warpath is not interrupted. It even works for little hops like Void Cleave. Just to be clear though, it is required to be on your bar. Any ability which requires cooldown tracking is required to be on your bar to track cooldowns.

We're the server really tested this time around especially with the load of player that will be coming to LE following PoE2 flop. Can the new server handle 300k+ player ?
Concerning the "Rot Grip" passive, for "Time rot damage per 1% slow chance with void skills", does it work with generic chance to slow on hit, like the affix on weapons or on the new "Woe" VK passive, or only when it specifically says "chance to slow with void hit", like on the idols?

Nothing really beats the real thing and we don't have 300k+ real players testing this. Since the last time we really had problems with servers on launch, we have rewritten our entire netcode, have a completely different chat system, are on a new engine version and have a whole host of other improvements. There is no way to be 100% sure that everything will go perfectly. I would be very surprised if we get 300k+ concurrent players but we aren't discounting it as a possibility and have plans for all sorts of scenarios.

Damage taken can only be converted once, so any damage that is already converted cannot be converted again, but any original/non-converted damage can still be converted.
Hi Mike, thanks to the team for the blog post! Are you able to explain how increased area interacts with smelters wrath charge time? Would a hypothetical 20% increased area stat reduce the maximum charge time from 2sec to 1.6seconds to get the 100% more damage effect? Or does it function differently? Thanks!
You would need a stat that said "reduced charge time" to reduce the charge time. "increased area" increases the area that the ability hits in.

oh the variable is just named something weird and I dismissed it too quickly. It doesn't care if you started above your endurance threshold at all. If your endurance threshold is above your current health after you take damage, it triggers. (you do need charges, and it needs to be equipped and you need mana)
Hi Mike the new node in Volatile Reversal "reclaimed action" that guarantees an echo "if it's able to." does that node work without being Void knight?

I don't think so because they don't have echo chance from anywhere else.
I just tested it with rive as a paladin with VR and swithced to VK and it worked as a VK but not as a pally.

attack and cast speed is typically shorthand for all 4 types of ability use speed, melee, throwing, bow and spell.
melee attack speed would indicate just melee

It can re-apply multiplicatively to the same ignite stack. However I think you'd need a weird amount if ignite duration and ICDRS (which has diminishing returns). I'm not sure it's possible and if it is, it would only exist for the very last tiny bit.
I'm not sure what this has to do with the linked comment really but you shouldn't need to do a clean install. The steam patcher is generally pretty good. I frequently use it multiple times a day for switching staging builds and it has issues less then 1% of the time and even then a quick file verification does the trick in seconds.

Yea, I saw that post. I thought that DJ had a good reply. The system seemed kinda like the Legendary system with extra steps to me. In order for it to be automated, it would need to be limited to a specific set of options for each and that's something we would do with an in game system.
It is a neat idea but I don't think it really fits with what most people would want to do.

With the new unique Helm (turning Heartseeker into a Throwing Attack) for the new Marksman skill I'm wondering if there'll be more support for throwing weapons in the Marksman skill tree?
Currently the tree only really supports Bow Attacks and Throwing Attacks are better off in the other 2 trees. Especially the latter half barely has useful nodes for a Throwing build. I'd love there to be another playstyle available for Marksman besides Bows.

No. Throwing skills are balanced around not needing to be wielding a throwing specific weapon.

Global slow + Slow with Void Skills (from idols mainly iirc), but if the void skill itself is Void, and the skill tree or skill itself has slow chance, that does not get added, or you did not mean that with "skill specific slow"
global chance -> ok
chance with void hit -> ok
chance with a specific void skill -> not ok
So, the supporter packs looks awesome and as far as I can see the higher tier includes the lower tier items as well(super awesome)

I meant passives on the skill tree. Basically all the throwing passives are in the other 2 trees and the second half of the Marksman tree has essentially no throwing support.
As such the Helmet seems counterintuitive when the entire Mastery granting access to the skill doesn't boost Throwing Attacks.
I mean, the helmet kills any tentative to use heartseeker as a main skill anyway, so...
yeah this further adds to the problem. you'll mainly wanna use another throwing skill -> primary damage dealer is another skill -> choose a mastery that boosts throwing damage more -> helmet obsolete (unless Heartseeker does horrendous amounts of damage with the Helmet which is of course a possibility)
Just checked. None of the Passives boost Throwing except some minor general boosts (bit of % damage and bit of health). Such a shame. Sounded like a cool idea to turn into a Throwing Marksman 🥲

I need a little clarification on Rot Grip, "per x% slow chance with void skills" means:
- Only modifiers with wording exactly "chance to slow with void skills" work with it
or - Any "chance to slow" modifiers work if it, but only if you use void skills
any slow chance that works for void skills. so global and void specific slow chance but not skill specific slow chance, scroll up slightly for a full discussion on it
the helmet gives a lot of great damage and scaling to it so it works very well as a passive source of damage while using another bow skill as you primary active action.

"Frozen Splinter" node in heartseeker mentioned "overcapped" resistance. I haven't seen this term in LE before. Does it mean only the amount over the cap? So 80% cold resistance is 5% overcapped cold resistance? Or is it just a synonym of "uncapped", which would mean that 80% cold resistance is your "uncapped" value

i came across the "loot lizard tails item" while looking at last epoch tools, what exactly does these items do and also just recently shown in the weaver tree as a node for more chance at the "tail item" in the ongoing stream with the devs and talkativetri
As of 1.1.7 (current patch)'they do nothing.
And there is no secret lizard level
they are keys (and are alreayd in the game) but no one knows exactly what they do/unlock yet
I'm told this is a perfectly natural defense mechanism that lizards sometimes employ when they are being unburdened of their loot. Eterra's best researchers assure me that losing a tail causes the lizard no pain and they are able to regrow them.

Rather small question: with Mana Strike, if you take the Frigid Grasp node (or use Yrun's Presence), does the flat added damage from the Mana Spark node get converted to cold as well? Or does it stay lightning damage?

You can see it a bit on the podcast stream when Karv was showing off some of the crafts, but we now condense the floating text into summaries of each type of thing looted instead of showing 1 floating text per each individual item, which helps improve performance in this area.
i.e. instead of "+1 ASDF Shard" for every single item you picked up, it now says "+35 Rare Shards" "+3 Woven Echoes" "+12,345 Gold" etc
no one can ever guarantee the future. the devs have added things in to detect and fix things quicker.

not really. there were two that both just happened to be at the start of seasons. but this was also hard to track due to legal ingame dupes with creations and lightless arbor. the 1.1 reset was dupe free as far as i can remember (and mike a few answers above)
There are currently not any way to "group" bases I want with my loot filter when I select 2 or more item type ?

Currently, subtypes (bases) can only be selected when only a single item type is selected. For a loot filter, you'd need a rule per item type and for stash priority, a tab per item type. This is something we'd like to improve on in the future to provide more flexibility and control in how you can filter and organize your loot.

Yes, overcapped is the amount you have that is over the cap. It is not the same as uncapped.
If you have 50, then your uncapped is 50 and your overcapped is 0.
If you have 100 then your uncapped is 100 and your overcapped is 25.
(Monster penetration per zone level doesn't affect this)

"Bee on potion use" was a new exp affix shown on stream - will there be other new exp affixes coming?
So excited for the upcoming release! As I watch teasers and read notes from the interviews, everything seems to scream "power creep". This isn't meant to be a criticism. As an example, looking at stuff in this channel over the past year or two, there was pretty mild or negative response to suggestions like deterministic choice of mods from legendary crafting. I seem to recall the suggestion was that this would be a large power boost that would need to compensated for in some way.
What's your take on the power creep of the update? Is EHG just releasing the toys this time around? Is there some difficulty compensation in store? Am I overstating the power creep?
As a long time fan of Meteor builds in ARPGs, would love a tier set that made like a meteor shower that had one of each element meteor fall or something, also because it would look pretty 😄

We are definitely raising the floor of what power people have available from items. Most of that is coming from completing the new content so it's not completely free. Lots of the significant outliers in power from skill to skill are getting nerfed. It's part of an overall effort to shift player power towards items.
I'm curious why armor was designed to be less effective against non physical attacks. Was it just a thematic choice that the game balance was then designed around or was there a deeper reason?

A remember a popular video of someone showcasing a powerful skill wearing no gear and still completing an echo, highlighting how they felt items gave not enough a portion of player power. It's cool to see the team be considering all of this longstanding feedback
Thematic reasons and so things are different in different situations so things are more interesting. The we balanced around that.

Hi, looking for information on how the game handles scaling abilities with multiple damage types. In particular I am asking about Holy Trail on the Javelin skill tree that has the Lightning, Fire, Spell, and Damage over Time skill tags. I understand from other discord messages that the damage is split evenly between fire and lightning, and obviously elemental damage over time is going to scale the whole DoT. My question is since it has a "Fire" tag, will % increased fire damage scale only half the damage or will it apply to the entire ability?
Increased fire damage only applies to the fire portion of the skill.

Should have opened with this but I love your game. Your crafting, loot, unique/legendary system, and individual skill trees are brilliantly clever take on the ARPG genre and are very clearly player focused. Playing your game is a breath of fresh air, I'm having a blast and the 17th can't come fast enough.
That's such a broad question that it's hard to give an good answer sitting on my phone here. I think our overall design philosophy with skills can be summed up with the phrase "wouldn't it be cool if..."
When we are making a new skill tree it starts with getting every wacky and weird idea anyone and everyone on the team can think of. Trees often start with a couple hundred ideas.

We don't know the rarity of woven echoes afaik. But they did show ways you could get more of ones you want via imprinting on the Weaver tree
The woven echoes are itemized so you can save them up and place a bunch to run back to back when you have sets you want to shatter. Not sure of the exact rarities, but you'll have fairly decent access to that one IIRC.

Experimental affixes can, set affixes cannot.
Experimental items can go on uniques except for Weaver's Will ones. Champ affixes are compatible with set or experimental, but I think we've been told set and experimental can't be combined.
Purple name text is required to apply to a unique. Champion affixes are always sealed. Experimental affixes don't change the name text color of exalted items.
Set affixes do always change the name text to green.
So set can't go on uniques.
WW and merophage can be different.
Something is happening to my phone, all the other answers just loaded, sorry for double posting.
This means you can grind up 10k corruption on Character A, then make a new Character B and slap this echo on and instantly be at 10k corruption on Character B, assuming both characters share their stash.

Do you want to male the forged Weapons into its own Build or are there just complimentary to other skills and are not meant to do the main Damage in the Build. For example something like animate Weapon in poe1
Since there isn't a skill that is "Summon Forged Weapon", they will always be tied to some other ability and will need to share the spotlight in some way. You can make builds where it is the central component. I'm testing some scene transitions on a character that is focused around Forged Weapons right now actually.
Mike, 2 questions:
- is there a reason why there's no Report Player button for chat? I would assume that without moderation of any kind, even the nicest chat could get ruined by somebody out there.
- also is there a reason why you guys don't do the numbers thing for names? Like poe2 has stated that the reason is for trading, however in this game, trading is in auction house, so you don't need to specify a name accurately
We do chat reporting through our support site. We also have moderators in chat who frequently take action. I banned someone last month who didn't believe I was staff even though I have a literal EHG image tag in front of my name. The appeal was literally saying that they didn't think I was a mod.
Our names aren't game wide exclusive so we don't need it.
This might be, and probably should be, low on the priority list, but I wanna ask if there are any plans on implementing something so the Steam friend list displays your level or what you're doing in any way like some other games do? 🙂
After watching the interview about itemization, I'm a little bit concerned about the amount of new option added with the new Cycle. Will there be a summary of these added in the in game guide for example ? Or is it knowledge you think is to be acquired by following the content creators, reading wikis and forums ?
If I take for example your friends in the ARPG space, in POE 1 at one point crafting was so confusing there was a need for the website craftofexile to exist and let us simulate stuff and see all the way to craft laid out in front of us. LE is far from this confusing state but I'm just being preemptive I guess ?
Woven echoes have a hammer icon in the tab indicating if they contain a craft and there is a brief description of what craft it is mentioned in the tooltip. Each of the crafts also provides access to the stash from within the woven echo so you don't need to proactively carry the items you want to craft in your inventory.
I see, Woven echoes are item we have in a separate inventory tab right ? So we'll come across them more often as we play :) Since I haven't played for a year or so, it felt a bit overwhelming to see all these new stuff that will probably make sense in the flow of the game

i transfered all my season1.0 stuff to normal league... it was like 40-50 stashpages full of stuff and took me around an hour and it made me go crazy running away from my stash over and over because some elements in the quickview seem to be click trough?

(i think it is because of windowed mode, and clicking on another monitor and clicking back into the game even tho there is almost no space to click for movement, it still moves you away from your stash as if there was no ui open)

Do all the Echo reward exchange nodes on the Weaver Tree add up? As in, can I just get rid of all the rewards I don't like and have every echo reward drop experience tomes or do multiple selected exchange nodes actually override each other? (e.g. I get both Keyless exchange - no Arena key rewards, and Rewritten reality - no glyph rewards; does this mean that I can actually get both Arena and Glyph rewards anyway if the Keyless exchange ditches Arena key, but gives me a glyph and vice versa?)

what's the intended outcome if you imprint legendary items? is it just looking at the unique or how do the legendary affixes play into that system
Looks at everything from what karv said in the podcast. Base type of the legendary(assuming it can drop like a bone amulet could but a dragon heart wouldnt), the unique its on, the affixes that are slammed on it
I just saw your Podcast with Talktative Tri and noticed that it is still the case that when you click on an interactable (for example the Woven Enchanter), your character still moves to the position you clicked at instead of just opening the desired menu if in range already. I assume this also still affects looting items and clicking boxes (e.g: character moves into or around the box while opening it instead of standing still if already in range) is this desired behaviour by design?
Honest question: is there a design or artistic reason why all MTX wings released are so small? Personally, the design of some of them would look way better if they were like 2x bigger (maybe a variation?)

While watching the interview with Talkative Tri, when Bestiary came up, i started wondering if it would be possible to have indicators beside mods in Item Filter Affix selection screen? So we dont have to jump between Forge/Wiki to check what affixes can be put on which item type? At the moment its quite annoying to have to switch between wiki and game to check what affixes can go on a ring for example instead having that information in Item Filter itself.
apologies if this was explained somewhere and i missed it but if i have a set which contains a ring or a one handed weapon and i equip two rings or one handed weapons made using the same set shard without equipping other parts of the set (i.e. two reforged ferebor's chisel but no reforged fefebor's presence) will the game count this as two set items or will it know my duplicate reforged items came from the same part and count them as only one?
It will count as equipping the items sets twice > you only get 1 part of the set bonus.
Also it wasn't clear in your question, but you can only apply the set shard to the same base type

It does try to give you similar tiers. Sometimes it can change the tiers, sometimes it can change the affixes, sometimes it can change both, sometimes it can change neither.

I have a question — I noticed that there are a lot of dodge effect skins recently. Would it be possible to add an option to randomly use a different dodge effect skin each time we dodge? I think that would make the experience even more fun and dynamic!
About pets — we have the adorable capybara and other cool ones, but from the videos I’ve seen, they mostly just stand still and follow the player. Why not give them more animations? For example:
Idle animations when they’re standing still
Reactions or interactions based on the player’s actions (like using a skill or opening a chest)
Unique animations when a filtered item (e.g. red tier) drops nearby
It would really bring them to life and add more personality to each pet!
will item drop prophecies be affected by weavers imprints? for example a prophecy that states 'drop x amount of exalted bows after killing a boss'. when you kill the boss, and you have bows that are on the imprinting weavers tree, will those bows that dropped from the prophecy have a higher chance to be similar to the imprint item?

Good morning. i hope this doesn't come off of abrasive or impolite. I'm not sure if it can be properly stated but i was wondering if the games direction (in general) is going to align more so towards the casual gamer. This question is stemming from the recent dev/stream talk about season two. I'm not here to complain or say anything is bad and i hope that this question does not read that way. I was just left with the impression that content is potentially going towards a casual or "burst" player (someone who picks the game up plays all day every day then drops it until new content comes again). For myself personally build Varity and creation and having a chase of hard to get "BIS" item is important and the ease of ability to create "BIS" dictates how much joy i receive from creating them. And how much i enjoy spending time towards acquiring the items needed. Additionally, I don't know if every dev has a special color associated to there discord name or not. previously i have had replies from discord members with non-specific roles reply to questions i have asked here. Which has made things a little confusing for me when that happens, but if possible as i would like a dev's opinion(doesn't matter which one).

I understand the concern. I think that there is enough new depth and content available that you'll see the item gap between more casual/burst players and long term grinding be smaller. There is still plenty of room for long tail advancement. A lot of the tools we're adding will bring up the item floor for a lot of players who make it to very late game content. I think these changes will increase the available builds that people can play and thrive with.
They are not upgradable. The higher tiers do grant the items from the lower tiers.

If you select the item type condition first, then when you add an affix condition it does have bright red text in the filter UI telling you which affixes cannot appear on the selected type.
I save my caffeine budget for when I really need it. It's really effective if you don't drink it every day.

Game design question: It currently seems like LE tends to reward complicated builds over simple ones by having really powerful modifier nodes in skill trees. E.g. the best way to use Gathering Storm is to trigger the storm bolts with other skills, the best uses for Tempest Strike are disabling all the tempests or make it a totem or buff your pets. The downside is that the narrative fantasy promised by the base skill often winds up underpowered and not feeling good. E.g. the narrative fantasy of Gathering Storm is to whack things to summon a storm, the narrative fantasy of Tempest Strike is to whack things to summon tempests, but those builds feel bad because they don't do anywhere near as much damage. Is this something that is on EHG's radar? Is this a deliberate design choice to have complicated=damage, or is it just that complicated builds are high variance and so the best builds are usually complicated? (Sorry, this would probably be a better stream question but I don't attend those, feel free to queue it for stream as I do watch the recaps)

Feel like this might be selection bias of that being the case for those skills maybe, but not all skills. There's plenty of skills where you just use that skill in a straight forward fashion and that's the way to do the most damage with it
All of the new crafting benches have help text that can be viewed by holding alt or navigating to it with a controller. This will show some flyouts with much more detail about specifically how the craft works.

The answer to that question for the vast majority of skills is yes. I'm struggling to think of an argument for any skills not having any changes given the breath of changes in the itemization systems. Full patch notes on the 11th

Will the trade fraction be any less of a grind to trade early on? It sucks not being able to trade when leveling for better leveling uniques.
The good ol' depth vs complexity issue is frequently considered and we will often add in options targeted at more straight forward options. There are often combinations that players find that we never even considered. We try really hard to make thematically similar and natural options powerful so that players are able to just take nodes and items that match as they come across them and do reasonably well. Pushing into the tippy top of min/maxing will probably always require some careful planning with as many options as we already have.
There aren't huge shifts in the MG progression curves. This is on our radar. The item factions don't really even appear until you're almost through the campaign and we do like that they have a gradual introduction.

Heyo mike: I'm so damn excited this is literally looking like a brand new game. Had one questions after reading the post today. Seeing lots of emphasis on HP regen and potion use. I like this step in the right direction, but is Leech going to be getting touched at all? Leech is extremely powerful kind of renders pots/hp regen obsolete for a lot of builds.
If you look at a screenshot from the stream yesterday that shows all of them in the inventory. They are broken up into columns with gaps between the sections. The ones on the left are more common and easier to find early. The ones one the right are more rare and will often require minimum corruption to do which requires empowered.
You can see the ones with a little hammer icon, those are all the crafting rewards.
The patch nodes are so massive that I've probably forgotten more about them than I know. I'm sure there is something in there regarding leech in some way somewhere. We'll just have to wait 2 more days to find out the details.

Moving Endurance Threshold to only the belt seems like a questionable decision seeing as it is 1 of 2 slots that can roll both % health and hybrid health. What is the thought process behind that change?

You'll get memory amber as you clear tombs and cemeteries. It's a cool floating glowy shard thing that will drop and you pick up like gold by just walking near it. It's basically the favor of the new faction so looting it contributes to ranking up and is stash-wide. It's used for various things with the new faction such as respeccing the weaver tree or re-enchanting idols.
In the current season using Fury leap in the winter wood areas could lead to some very whacky interactions (like jumping hundreds of feet to the forest below). Have these been addressed in season 2? 😄
We did put some more access to it in non-itemized places for situations that it is thematically appropreate so you'll have similar access easier.

buffing Health also kinda helps with this. Ward is more complex to build around/harder to understand, while increasing health pool is super straight forward

if this is the sole source of endurance threshold craftable on gear, perhaps making it a belt prefix might alleviate some issues, since belt prefixes are not very competitive, while suffixes are extremely so.

I think so but I think that's because the item is technically already defined when it drops.

Have you looked at/tested possible issues with duping so that the risk of the economy being ruined in the first week is as low as possible? I'm a trading only player and I wouldn't want the economy not be "ruined" again early
Since you get memory amber and woven echoes from the same location at base, you'll probably be keeping up at a fairly consistent rate. If it's off, we'll adjust it. It is possible to run out of memory amber but I haven't seen a ton of feedback that it's a bottleneck or anything like that.
Yes. The most recent Season at no point had any duping issues. We have since improved our prevention, detection, tracking and resolution tools just in case. It'll never be guaranteed 100% perfect but we take it very seriously and are prepared to take action.

When I reroll unique in Woven Offering with item bought on MG does rerroled item gets MG tag or not?
This isn't an exhaustive list of things we would be against but the sort of stuff would be things which inject right into the game. Things that run in the game window.
Things which depend on or react to the state of the game are banned. So if the tool shows extra info when a tooltip is on screen, that is depending on and reacting to the state of the game. Banned.
I haven't seen a website that has info about the game which you can go look up and plug numbers into to test stuff that runs up against issues. I personally am not a huge fan of going too deep into the speadsheets for my own gameplay but I know lots of people like that too and it's totally fine.

I don't think there is any way to remove tags from items and I think the only way to add tags is to be interacting with the items in a way that gives you a bonus from the faction.
So tl;dr, if does X based on Y in game, it's probably a no-no, or anything that is added to the game after runtime, also a no-no.
But also, Path of Epoch has a nice ring to it...

I have a question about the "Divine Throws" node in the **Javelin **skill: does the change of tag from "Physical" to "Ligthning" removes the effect of "+1 to Level of Physical Skills" of the Thorn Slinger belt?
the biggest issue about that would be to handle bugs, as too many times the text and the in-game behaviour isnt matching (hopefully better in season 2)

does "Movement skills are able to “shortcut” through corners and short gaps more than before" from today's article mean that they can go through small walls as well assuming there is a walkable path that is within the length parameters (60 meters for fury leap was the example)

Super excited for season 2! I have a question that I'm not really sure can be answered directly, but I'll try it anyway. My favorite thing in any game is to play more of a support role. I don't mean heals, though small heals are fine, too. I mean actually supporting. Things like giving my party members buffs, contributing more to the side of CCing mobs, or other sorts of utility-focused skills. Right now there are SOME support skills, but are there any plans in the future to have a Mastery that focuses more on aiding allies instead of just boosting its own damage? Thanks!

I don't think we are super interested in making a whole mastery really focus around specifically support roles. We have been adding in more support options for Paladin and Warlock as they are probably the most support leaning options available at the moment. The issue with a whole mastery focused on support is that it is kinda unplayable in single player. We will continue to add more support options to the game though.
ahh, gloves, sorry I was trying to figure out what cloves was and I just didn't make the jump (although it seems obvious now).
The more prominent visual options are much higher on the list but we are adding more and more 3D gear models to match 2D art as we go.
Totally understandable. There ARE some workarounds, but obviously I'm not too sure how well they would work or the complications of that sort of stuff on the backend. how does the new multistrike node that costs mana to strike a single target interact with -3 mana cost to melee skills on relics? does it mean it costs 0 or does that implicit not apply to nodes in the tree?
It applies to the initial use of the ability, the extra hits are charging an extra cost that is not the ability use cost and is unaffected. It's a mana hungry node.
On idols the Role "#% chance on 10 or more mana spent to cast lightnting at a nearby enemy" I have 2 questions
1.) If this goes above 100% what happens?
2.) does this cast storm bolt from gathering storm?

When I see disintegrate in news it was cool but after reading more and finding it's have always been since the release of this skill that it's only the lightning part that receive all love and fire part scale very badly I'm very disgusted but those dev that only buff part that is already overpowered...
How are y'all feeling these days about giving skills reduced ailment application coefficients? That's something that warpath and spirit thorns both have, I believe, but those are older skills, and Frost Claw very notably does not have an ailment application penalty, even if you make it shotgun with Volley of Glass. Probably something I should ask after the patch notes drop, but I've been meaning to ask this for ages.

there is a CoF rank reward that grants a chance at doubled rewards in monolith echoes and also a weaver tree node with a similar effect.

I double checked the code and it appears to be multiplicative. If both CoF and Weaver bonuses procced at the same time, then I would expect 4x the echo rewards to drop.
Good, we use it in the skills you mentioned.
They are woven echoes so you'll have to find them from drops or buy them from the Weaver faction with memory amber or get them in the reroll echo reward.
I'd have to check the code to be sure but with the way it is worded it is very unlikely.

In that case how would imprint treat personal items, if they even can be placed as imprint? For example if I placed Andinai's poignard dagger as imprint would it look at it as magic poignard with two tier 3 affixes: melee attack speed and chance to bleed on hit (since it always come with those alongside its personal affix).
It'll chaos the affix so it is a 3 affix item but it's just not that affix.

The numlock is smth EHG can't control. Also they think if you numlock a skill, the design is great. They would like to make you think when you use the skill.
However they are okay to add some automation inside the skill tree like we are going to have with Devouring Orb

Hi Mike, theres a node of spirit plague (acolyte) that allows you to apply poison, do they get the benefit of the more damage multipliers we have in the tree?
just tested this. plague dealt 60 damage per tick to targets after spreading regardless of whether I was specced into Scourge for 75% more damage. could be changed in 1.2 but I would be surprised. IIRC Laceration node (bleed on hitting spirit plague'd enemies) is even worse and doesn't scale with INT; did not test that one though.

Wouldnt a two dimensional hitbox be enough to check if the player was hit? Or can Projectiles actually shoot upwards above the player?
You are able to miss vertically, you can test it by trying to shoot enemies that are upstairs but not standing directly Infront of the stairs , your projectiles won't keep a constant distance from the ground, they go in a straight line and can go above enemies.

First question: Do I understand correctly that Woven echoes are leading in two types of locations, Thumbs and Cemeteries? The second question is more likely confirmation. In Echo web there will be some kind of sockets where we'll be inserting the collectible Woven echoes from our inventory to spawn those new locations?

Hello, this question might have been answered already, sorry if that's the case. I'm really looking forward to playing LE again with this update and it really seems like the feedback on end game has been taken seriously. The one aspect I find the game is lacking is game feel / feedback of both the skills and monsters. I know from experience it's a really hard thing to nail, it means animations, sfx, vfx and well, do you think that's something you'll consider working on in the future ?
As it's not written on the "season 2 and beyond" I wanted to know your opinion on this

it's still exciting, because slams can crit, so you have a chance your 1LP actually gets 2+ affixes
About the "critical success" for legendary crafting, does it do anything for 4 LP items?

Technically you can have 5 affixes on an item if you seal one, but it could also just upgrade affix tiers for example

No, it can't crit succeed if it is already the best possible LP roll. It also doesn't change anything about the tiers or rolls. All normal Eternity Cache rules still apply (notably, sealed affixes can't be chosen), but very rarely it just treats the item as if it had more LP.

Not in Season 2, but that is something we are keen to add in the future. In Season 2, there will be improvements to rarity filtering.
Generally speaking, if support for a method of matching an item exists in only loot filter, stash priority, or bazaar, we'd like to extend that to all 3 places. My hope is that we can eventually get all of them to have full feature parity for item matching.

is obsidian resonance going to become more common with this update? one of my favorite aspects of the game is playing with friends and then helping them out with items i get that are really good for them when i'm grinding solo. not being able to do that last time i played was pretty upsetting because of the low drop rate.
AFAIK, Last Epoch's inventory is one of the biggest of any ARPG I've played. We are also freeing up space by adding the keys and woven echoes tabs, both of which have infinite storage. Not to mention idols having their own slots so they don't clutter the inventory, shards/runes/glyphs having infinite storage, and the stash having up to 200 tabs you can unlock with in game gold.

Yes, this was teased in the recent podcast. You can sacrifice a unique or legendary to reroll the implicits/affixes of another of the same type.

Question about Champ Affixes + the Imprinting on the weaver tree: If I imprint a champ affixed item, will the "imprint drops" that can happen have the potential to have that same champ affix?
Both work. Any combination of unique or legendary can be used so long as they are the same item and the sacrifice has equal or higher "Potential Tier" (basically, how much LP or WW it currently has or used to have)
Potential Tier is equivalent to:
Weaver's Will = Weaver's Will + sum of legendary affix tiers
Legendary = # of legendary affixes
Unique = Legendary Potential
Set = 0
and does 2 legendary affixes = 2lp? so you could reroll a legnedary without having to slam a new one first?
If i have a 2lp titan heart and a legendary titanheart with 2 affixes I can use one to reroll the other, either way works

Any lp, so a 1 lp slam is guaranteed (super small chance it'll crit and grab more affixes though :p)
On a 2 or 3lp you still only get to choose one guaranteed affix.

It's just another alternative you can choose for how to unlock your passives/idol slots. There's already more side quests that grant passives/idol slots than there are passives/idol slots to unlock and this works the same.

yup! this just makes it so if you do choose to skip parts of the campaign with the dungeons, you don't need to backtrack to get the remaining passives/idol slots and can continue progressing forward naturally
We haven't given them something extra early. They are however part of the CT program so they essentially have the Season 2 patch already and have been getting CT patch notes as we go.

Hi Mike, according to some testing the ailments applied by spirit plague (acolyte) are not affected by the damage multipliers in the skill's tree, is this intended with a balance view, limitation from the skill or just bugged?

The way those nodes work is quite unique, spirit plague doesn't actually count as the source for those ailments, the nodes descriptions wording kinda hints at this
