There's been a lot of talk about the strength of health vs ward, how does the team feel about the balance in strength of armor vs dodge?

Can we have some performance improvements/fixes for low end hardware (steam deck/handheld devices). I would love to run the game at 1080p, stable 60 with everything on ultra low quality. Just smooth gameplay nothing more to ask.
We're always making gradual performance improvements each patch where we can and Season 2 will be no different! There's been a lot of focus on improving performance for Season 2 in many different areas of the game. I can't speak to exactly how that will manifest on specific devices/hardware, but many of the performance improvements we've made should be generally applicable.
ok so I did not write it down but I am 99% sure that 90% of the nemesis I fight are poison or blood, I cant remeber the last time I have seen the lightning nemesis and maybe 1 out of the last 20 was frost? Is that wanted this way or is it just crazy statistical outlier?
It is possible that you could only ever see poison/blood and never see any others. I would urge you to start recording it for a bit and see how the stats shake out. Don't forget that it doesn't change if you empower.

Is there a chance for bigger camera zoom? Playing Epoch on 4K monitor is painful on such zoom in.

I'm sorry to have (accidentally) mislead you. I do not want to change it. If you would like us to consider it for the future, you can place it in #1210282176680169562 . It has a very low probability of happening. The entire game world is built knowing that the camera can't go out any more than it is. We would have to go back and check every single zone with several characters to find issues that cropped up from it. So even if we did want to do it, it has a very poor cost/benefit ratio which places it low on the list if it made it onto the list (which it's not).

did the team ever consider having the nemesis "equip" the items it's going to drop including inheriting the upgrades? I imagine it'd make those fights wildly swingy but would be quite cool thematically. - though i'd guess it has a similar issue with equipping gear as forge guard minions

It's a hard question to answer. Kinda? If that's what you're after, you'll have more tools to get it but I don't think we are adjusting the relative rarity of the base types themselves. (assuming you meant the harbinger base types)
are there pans to optimize the game a lot more? i have a 4070 gpu and a i7 cpu and im playin torment warlock alone and running at 40-50 fps with all graphic setting to very low... it feels terrible

do you have access to a player rate that has reached empowered monolith that you can share?
Reached 300+corruption ? Leveled a character up to 100 lvl? And managed to slain Aberoth?
People who reach empowered have historically been sub 10% and that's generous. Unsure about season 1 but I doubt it suddenly went above 10%.

At release, lots of people probably bought the game tried without success the first week due to sever problems and never come back. Or try a few hours then give up, that is just normal at big release.
I think season 1 is more what we could expect un the future with more people that are truly interested in the game. That's why updated numbers could be instructive because in the subset of people that came back to the game knowing how far do they went, seems interesting imo ?

Can you use WASD + Click to move at the same time in S2? Is it possible to rebind Click to move to something other than LMB? (PoE2 has it implemented so badly, you have to go to options to enable Click to move, even though they have the action bindable to other keys/buttons)
This has always been a hotly debated topic. We very much like having ultrawide support in the game. It's tough to predict if some abuse case could show up or not but we would try and solve that before trying to remove ultrawide all together. It's a tricky thing because you can get into a situation where specific specialty hardware can become important and having recommendations to buy an ultrawide monitor if you want to play the game wouldn't be ideal. The extreme example of this is VR games needing a headset. It's fine if the game starts out that way but it would be a pretty huge rug pull if we added in that requirement part way through.

it'd be really bad if you couldn't use any of the new idol stuff because you'd want the life idols more
only 3+ size idols can be enchanted so you'll still have some 1/2 size idols that can be used to have health.

to put it into perspective if you max out on 1x2 idols you can have 40% increased and 160 flat life
that is more than a belt with both t7 % and t7 hybrid health
and doing that leaves only 4 1x1 slots free
i feel like they'll still feel mandatory especially for classes that dont have the 1x3 health idols
is ehg open to shifting the amount of power life idols have if players feel like they are still mandatory for life builds?

each affix shard is a normal affix shard so it has fixed stats that it gives, like Zerrick's gloves shard always applies the same 2 stats from the hybrid affix alongside turning the gloves into a set piece for zerrick's set.

The item "Blight of Lachesis" that was showcased in the stream was cropped, is it possible to get a uncropped version? Could not see the rolls on the last stat, also was all the text visible? Did it crop out a line of text potentially?
I don't have the authority to make a call on this for the future. It's something that we do discuss. I think the general sentiment is that having the best game overall is the most important part. A race being interesting is important but it generally doesn't last that long or actively engage too many people. I almost think that races where the more info is available, the better.
Like, best case scenario is 0% info (almost impossible). Next best case is 100% (that wants to) has the info. Everything else in-between is probably less great.
entirely depends on what game type you are talking about. no balatro doesnt need a CT program. single player story games dont need CT. but arpgs do better with community input before. diablo has ptr servers. ggg is big enough and enough experience, and i know they have testers as well. games like this where community feedback is important (esp when EHG already showed they listen to feedback).

Same way legendary slamming works, glove -> glove, 1h sword -> 1h sword, etc.
Some do have class requirements too, like Vilatria's Storm Crown Reforged is always a mage specific item.

No, the amount is calculated after the initial mitigation of the hit and is then dealt without any subsequent mitigation.

Does endurance get calculated into the initial hit, or does it apply to the delayed damage? (and similarly, the affix on the gloves that gives you extra DR on endurance health)
the delayed damage is dealt without any subsequent mitigation.
But If the initial hit would've been affected by endurance, but because of the 30% reduction never actually penetrated into the endurance threshold. Would endurance basically be a none factor even though it would be a factor if the gloves weren't used? This is pretty much inconsequential but interesting nonetheless

Each set affix is a single, fixed hybrid affix which has specific stats from the set item. So you could theoretically see lightning meteor conversion if we picked that stat for the Vilatria's Downfall Reforged affix. Since these do have 7 tiers, we didn't pick stats like that to appear more than once per shard.
Yeah, the confusing math to know how much DR endurance should apply when hits can do normal health damage + endurance health damage + mana damage is what made me think that the endurance reduction might apply at the "damage actually being taken away from health" step rather than the "calculating damage taken" step

While I do think Last epoch has an amazing Loot filter system I do always find it a pain point because the season just started and I just wanna blast
LE Tools is likely to be updated almost immediately when the patch notes drop, and assuming its loot filter utility works on any new stuff right away or soon after, that could be a 3rd party option

Whats devs thoughts on blocking lenses that are mathematically inefficient compared to double lenses, so if a person for example doesnt want to run arena prophecies its still more efficient(less rerolls) to not use blocking lenses. Its quite misleading to people who dont think too much about mechanics and will see any changes to that?
if you spec into the "you cannot encounter arena echoes" node on the passive tree does it reroll your existing monolith web or does it just stop arena echoes from spawning in the future?
Could you change your server share to a slow-mo forum based please? Mirror how PoE and D4 do it so we can have a comments section inside fr bumping instead of pasting recruit messages over and over again that get walled up by others.
do set item affixes always give the same stats? for instance if I shatter Corsair's Blood Cowl, will the affix shard gained always be for example, Physical Penetration with Bleed + Increased Block Effectiveness or could one shatter of the Cowl give that example while another potentially gives Increased Bleed Duration + Increased Chance to Find Potions?

Champions can be encountered throughout most of the campaign too. The Weaver stuff is all restricted to the monolith though.
Even the Tombs? If I am correct they are the small side zones versions. That seems like it would work in the campaign
Even the tombs. They are small side zones, but their reward structure is very tied in with The Woven Faction, which is specific to endgame. And on top of that, the way they're populated, the way their entrances are generated, and the way the client is instructed to preload the enemies for them all utilises pre-existing monolith systems, so getting them to spawn in the campaign isn't as simple as it might seem. We definitely want to explore adding procedurally generated campaign side zones in future though.
So I'm looking at the first quarter of information which could already be enough for an entire season (or a paid extension by the standard of some competitor)

No, Woven Echoes can't be traded because they are not uniquely identifiable items. Some examples of other not uniquely identifiable item types are affix shards, runes, glyphs, dungeon keys, portal charms and eyes of oblivion.

As long as it's not software which depends on or reacts to the running game. I don't see why not. Basically, if we're talking about stand alone software that you've put the data into on your own, sure. If it's grabbing info from a running version of the game, that's gonna run headlong into the TOS. Especially if it's modifying tooltips in game or adding some sort of overlay while playing.

oh ok let me speak my conclusion:
About new faction coming in 1.2, here're how it work---
First, I go to the end of time, select one of monolith, select one of echo, start my farming. Tombs will spawn in these echoes randomly.
After I clear one of tombs, I can unlock woven faction.
Woven tree is the feature attach with woven faction, so I'll unlock woven tree at the same time.
Then it's time to collect woven echoes. (I don't know where to find echoes)
As I cleared more tombs, I can get many memory amber. This is a currency for woven faction only, I can use it to purchase different echoes to get different bonus.
These bonus from echoes will bring another new term, champion enemies.
Champion enemies will drop items with champion affixes (I don't know what's champion affix mean for different item types) and maybe another boss exclusive items (from echoes).

3rd and 4th Idol Affixes were mentioned on the livestream - my question is are these affixes unique to the idol type (some affixes will only appear on 1x4, others on 4x1, others on 2x2, etc) or will all the available affixes share the same pool and all be available on any idol that qualifies for 3rd and 4th affixes?

i dont think there have been any specific "this is only beastmaster uniques" unless you could pull one from the tons they showed on the trailer. however there are plenty of uniques that can easily fit into certain BM builds. like this staff could be used with crows, or just for the +minion parts (cold/lightning wolves). just cuz it has "necro" affixes, doesnt mean it cant be used by BM in certain situations. the uber aberroth uniques could fit too (gloves and relic).

its a very old class that has had skills canibalized for other classes, and its build paths are pretty limited and not great synergy compared to newer classes. it has a few things it can do for endgame but its easily the worst class in the game right now.
its being worked on at some level tho, the devs know about it. just a time thing until it gets some major love

Unique items cannot drop in an area level below their required level right? As in if an item has a level requirement of 60 it can't drop in a level 50 zone right?
Yes. Season 1 launched way way way way more smooth than the initial season 0 launch though if that's what you were referencing as season 1. (I know the numbering isn't consistent and it's confusing)
Well, we could do stuff to force specific ones to drop in specific situations but generally speaking, that's right.
It applies while your character is in the animation for it. By animation, I mean the motion that the character follows, not the VFX.

I haven't seen it asked yet, but in the Eterra Monthly and the trailer, we saw lightning blast chains having a short delay between each chain. Is it something that is a significant change to the way the spell works, or more of just an update to the look/feel of lightning blast to make it feel cooler?

Yeah I will butt in here to say one thing that, it is insanely good for the game for the exposure it gets when they bring on the big wigs on. It is beneficial to everyone when they bring on someone like Zizaran because it feeds into all of us. I'd rather have the game get bigger and get more eyes on it then some random interview. To add to Dread's point, not "just" big wigs, but specifically big wigs with audiences from other relevant games. LE main creators might know more about LE, but they won't generate NEW eyeballs to the same degree, even if they were the same size. This is what LE needs to capitlize on with their pre-season news cycle. Most people who follow LE creators most likely already know 1.2 is coming, and most likely are already hype for it

It's a big space, Dread knows more about a lot of LE things than probably the majority of people, but then someone like Terek probably knows more about racing, I probably know more about CoF (idk if that's even true lmao), someone else might know more about some niche thing. And there's different styles that different viewers will resonate with, etc.

I'm not sure if the echo node generation algorithm has been changed to affect this but we have at least added the ability to just change it yourself with the woven echoes. They still have the same max distance from center.

From a game design standpoint - woven echoes look like consumables with different tiers (higher tier being more valuable), resetting echo progress and not removing the used consumables would be a little exploity (you could fill the web with top tier woven echoes and farm top tier echoes over and over, no need to get new top tier consumables)

Good, afternoon i had a question about the DOT "torment". The question being does increasing the stat of "flat curse spell damage" say from an idol or on affix on the helmet, result in higher torment damage. To my understanding for ailment DOT dmg it is set at a base flat damage amount, and cannot increase with any relatable flat damage. For example if i understood things correctly if hypothetically I apply 1 stack of ignite and do 50 damage. And then i add 10 flat spell fire damage (nothing else changes just the addition) 1 stack of ignite will still apply 50 damage. As torment is a curse i started to second guess myself if curse flat spell damage is beneficial to torments damage. For example 1 stack of torment would do 100 damage then i add 10 flat spell curse damage is the result still 100 dmg from on stack of torment. Additionally, i understand torment can only have one stack i just wanted to keep my examples phrased the same way.

It does because unlike normal ailments, Torment has the "Spell" tag.
Yes, flat/added (curse) spell damage applies to torment because torment deals spell damage and has an 'effectiveness of added damage' property (it's 200% per second for torment, per the chthonic fissure tooltip). Most damaging curses scale the same way, just with different numbers and base damage.

Two (or more) completely seperate loot grinding systems that are not similar but are similarly profitable.
Same reason people think PoE2 end game is lacking. Because maps are boring to grind endlessly. Monos are literally the same.

My hope is that they are innovative exciting tile sets rather then the boring overly restrictive crap in PoE2, main reason I do not play that game any more and probably won't for quite a while.
My thought it that supporting parallel endgame activities with equal or unique rewards ends in one of two ways:
- Unique rewards means players will be upset that they have to do both types of content to get what they want
- Equal rewards mean players will hyper optimize and ignore whichever method is less efficient
So it makes a lot more sense to expand monos so they aren't repetitive and boring. It's been a common complaint that monos aren't that interesting after a while, and it sounds like they're doing a ton of stuff in 1.2 to address that. Like the weaver tree allowing you to customize your experience for the endgame is a huge boon.
I think that this might not have been clear enough, each of these 45 unique echoes are a different activity.
Some of them are similar for sure so maybe it's a little bit of a stretch to say that all 45 36 are unique I guess.

Probably have to redo the campaign again, unless you get lucky with key drops to do the dungeon skips as you're going, but depending on your leveling speed, there are generally always people willing to help boost people right to the Monos after the first day or two.
Unless EHG decides to remove that "mechanic" which I've never looked up to see if they consider it a bug or a feature... lol

This sounds like a solid idea! My clan and I played Diablo 3 for over 20 seasons, just for the cosmetics youβd get from the seasonal challenges. Those cosmetics were account-wide, so you could use them on your characters in the next season, and we kept grinding season after seasonβit was a blast!
LE's endgame is already way better than D3, which was basically just running Rifts over and over. This game has insane potential, and without a doubt, it could end up being better than PoE 2 and D4!

While I didn't think you would tell me, I had really hoped. The story has such potential, with the entire game being reminiscent of some of the best jRPGs to ever exist- Chrono Trigger, the early Breath of Fire games, the Lufia games- but it being not only unfinished, but ending at a simply unsatisfying point warranted me asking.
I'll look again in a few months. Hopefully there's some kind of plot movement.

I'm just worried it's going to be forgotten since necro is the more popular choice is my main concern actually. but I have some good hopes since they just touched sentinel π which is why i was wondering if there's a chance this patch or wether that's something for a later date. I just love walking around with my zoo, and would like it to be viable in the new season, with some build variety options is all. xD and who doesnt love new uniques for their favorite class.
Spellblade hasn't gotten a unique in years either, that's just how it goes, they're slowly going around and bringing old masteries up to date. When Beastmaster gets its turn i'm sure they'll be more open to making more uniques for it
Personally I'd love to know why Shield Rush is the only traversal skill Sentinel has that actually works for general movement without allocating any skill points or using any unique items. I would love to use Lunge or Healing Hands for general movement instead, but "Lunge Does Not Require a Target" is gated behind a unique helmet, Healing Hands requires Rahyeh's Chariot necessitating specialization which isn't always possible, and Void Cleave requires both specialization and a 2H sword or axe.
tbf, both have gotten uniques recently (depending on how strictly you define things) and both have at least one coming in S2 
Eh to me a mastery unique would need to have atleast part of it only function on said mastery or interacts with a skill of that mastery.
obviously a lot of uniques they add are usable by a lot of masteries, some even by all
Afaik bloody nib is the most recent spellblade unique, coming in 0.8.5 which was in 2022 (Not saying every mastery should get a unique specific to it every patch or even every year, was just giving an example i'm familiar with)
That is exceptionally strict, I'd consider bane of winter and maybe black blade as spellblade uniques. BoW SS was super fun.

3 is the max per empower. It is possible to go from 0-4 but it has to be spread out across the 2 empowers.

This isn't always the case but in general, we like to add unique items that interact with specific individual skills alongside updates to said skills. Several of the BM companions are fairly out of date skill at this point. They has received some minor things here and there over the years but need some love. Releasing a unique item which gives a narrow bonus to a skill that is slated for updates in a future patch signals to the community that now is a good time to get back into that skill when it isn't time yet.
We haven't forgotten about BM and while there aren't any new uniques which specifically mention Bear, Sabertooth or Scorpion in Season 2, there are some new toys to play with.
uhh a question in regards to forge strike kinda both current/future if possible. 1. how does it handle the scaling from weapon if you are dualwielding... 2. How does it handle the set Hammers set affix (the bonus dmg/ignite per forged weapon) does it not work at all does it only take into account the stats at the moment of summoning etc

Another question on set affixes. Does the set item roll influence anything on the set affix shards (ie high roll on the stat that gets affix'ed)? Or are all set items treated equally?
Weaving is a weird case but Havoc and Redemption are 1-20. Holly was just mentioning the maximum value. For example Refinement only goes up to 15 and Removal/Shaping go up to 25. Those are the most extreme options.

Have you guys ever considered removing Glyph of Hope? It feels like it's always the default choice as the other glyphs have very specific use cases, so perhaps using no glyph should do the same as the current implementation of glyph of hope

This would be better suited in the #1210281911872786482 . There are slight reasons why it's good to have it as a glyph even though it's practically always the one you use and you have a practically infinite supply of them. One of them being that other glyphs can't be used in conjunction with hopes.

Last one from me, it was mentioned the new champion enemies can be encountered in the campaign. Is there any easy way to recognise them, and how early could we theoratically encounter them?
They are visually pretty distinct so it should hopefully be easy to recognize them. They should be a significant challenge too. Their health bar also says Champion and is bigger than normal enemies.
I don't know the exact first zone that they can be encountered but I think it can start pretty early.
Can you tell us of ward vs life will be changes only numerically or you have something else planned. Also did you thought about adding mechanics that temporarily increase your life (for example by 1k) and it decays, or you can sustain it with high enough leech.

no balance notes have been put out at all. there is no timeline on when notes will be available. hopefully a day or two before at least like previous season patches.

historically, EHG hasnt nuked any builds, their nerfs are generally pretty forgiving (unless its a bugged interaction). if its strong before, it'll still be pretty strong after

Falconer has some crazy number in some situations, I wouldnt be shocked if some ways to build it become collateral damage.
Oh it for sure it getting nerfed, its number are way too big. Just generally, EHG doesnt take a top performing build and put it on the bottom of the pile(unless it was unintended). It will likely still be very strong, just hopefully not obsurd.

if you have that allocated in chthonic fissure, all of your hits against targets with acid skin, regardless of how they got it, you don't even have to apply it yourself, have that crit chance. This does mean that it is not a property of the acid skin itself and does not apply to other people hitting the targets that you affect with acid skin.
How close will using existing armor as fashion be in the game? I find it a waste that we cant do it yet given how hard the art team went for some of the pieces.

It should be like set items are currently:
- The set bonus itself does not apply
- The actual hybrid affix applies if it functions on minions (generally, simple stats work, but stuff like attributes and skill procs don't)
Can multiple set affixes be applied to the same item if they are from the same base type? Eg. The "Invoker's" set has 2 different set rings, could the affix from both rings be applied to the same exalted ring?
Or even from different sets, could 1 item count towards 2+ set bonuses?

I know that no item can count towards 2 pieces of the set bonus. I do not know if both affixes could be applied at the same time. I can check tomorrow if you remind me earlier in the day.

We tried to find exciting, non-broken ones. Some affixes on set items exist because they are balanced around the rest of the set item being less powerful.
So it's safe to say we aren't getting 18 Int + 180 Armor to add on our rings from Ferebor π₯
well, don't forget that the set affixes have 7 tiers, so we define new rolls ranges for each tier. So while 18 int + 180 armor would be crazy strong, we could have set it to like 7 int and 70 armor at max roll t7 or something.
Disclaimer: I don't know what the affix actually is off the top of my head. Having said that, I would probably have advocated for some of the totem mods to make it onto them as the set bonus is focused around totems.

but I doubt the int goes up anywhere near 18, even at max roll t7

With the new mastery respecs coming on the way is there any plans for loadout saving that saves the skills, passives, and gear you wear for character builds you make to make it easier to go back to a previous build?
No, we aren't expecting frequent switching. Loadout style systems also only really make sense (to me at least) if you can allocate everything right as you are switching, which you will not be able to do as you'll need to level up your new skills from scratch.

I think that there are a couple situations where it might happen. There are a few spots where the affix on the set item is really strong and given that you can get the set bonus by wearing reforged versions of the other pieces, it makes the base set item actually playable. I don't think it will happen frequently but there are a couple spots.
I was thinking about this for the last few minutes and something clicked here: what's the big difference between warpath triggering stuff and all the other skills that trigger other skills that people LOVE and the game currently supports quite well?
There's quite a lot of "while channeling" affixes and stats that are quite potent. So letting you do stuff on top of channeling can be a slippery slope
for example you can have flat spell damage while channeling, which is not an affix you can have anywhere except for swords to make up for them lacking it in the implicit

In a podcast they showed a new rare rune that takes 20-30 forging that redistrubites mod teirs so if you have 1 t7 and 3 t5 mods you have 22 teirs and they get split among the mods

If that were the case then that's the use case that stands out. But we don't know what the set affixes are so who knows ^^
Also the crown itself isn't all that great, having +1 level, 16 pen and 8 int with a mediocre implicit. You'd probably just shatter both in that case

I think it's better this way. Because then, if interesting/build enabler mods are all on affix shards, then the base set items themselves will see no use and will always be shatter fodder.
They can buff the base set item if it's underpowered while still giving us the option to shatter for different builds that wants to abuse set bonus instead.
Really good system imo. opens up lots of options and also, lots of design space for future updates

I'm sorry, I don't remember it but we try not to introduce much if we can. Season 2 will bring up the baseline power of most builds but will reduce the top end power possible by outliers. People like new power. We don't want to risk having to add a M, B, T, Qa, Qu, S, etc to the end of damage numbers.

I don't think there will be much power creep before empowered monos because all the new affixs on rare gear are from weaver tree and crafting endgame gear and if there is creep in empowered monos the corruption avg will just go up 100 envy makes that go pretty quick
The corruption numbers getting into the 10k+ range again would be problematic but i don't see that happening out side of bugs
Oh yea, we have added several new challenges to keep things interesting. Champions, exiled mages and nemesis encounters are all higher difficulty challenges.

Maybe more of a general question but how do the devs feel about builds specializing in a skill and not using it. For example, Storm crows specialize in Wolf for the +1 companion(not using the skill at all), Aaron's will wants you to specialize in skeletons to get more max bone golems but the rest of the 11 points in the skill are useless, Profane Veil specialized for mark of the rat and then mortality grasp gets used to proc its effect.
Using Profane veil, one of warlock's best defensive buttons as an example is probably not a good idea. (The rest are fair game though)

Since we are able in season 2 to give manifest armor permanent frenzy with the new weaver amulet i was wondering if this experimental boots affix will work for manifest armor.
How I think it should work = the "on you" becomes the manifest armor and it does gain increased frenzy effect.
If it was just "increased effect of frenzy" I would be more inclined to trust it works but since we know most of the unique stat lines don't work in combination with manifest armor, I wonder if the "on you" part makes it too unique to not be coded in to work with manifest armor.

That is a normal stat and is transfered to manifest armor. The stat does work properly on the manifest armor. The "you" in the stat refers to the actor which has the ailment.

I personally think it would be a smart tactical move for Last epoch to release Season 2 a week earlier than April 2nd. This would give everyone more time to enjoy the game before attention shifts elsewhere.
As for Twitch Drops, they donβt really matter that much in this situation. The devs could offer something symbolic insteadβwhat truly matters is that people actually play the game, rather than just watching it for two days before much player moves on to watching Poe2.
This is just my personal opinion, but I believe launching earlier would be the best way to ensure Last Epoch gets the attention it deserves.
They currently have nothing to comment regarding a delay to the launch date.

Wait, if the new Idol system for applying WW to them works as I think it does, doesn't that mean that they could technically be rerolled (divine style) on the Woven Offering altar since that idol becomes a "Weaver's Will" item and the altar specifically says that it can reroll WW items? If true, it's not as bad of an idea to 'enchant' idols with bad rolls, but 2 correct affixes for your build then?

Will the new boss key system next patch allow you fight arena bosses without having to do the full arenas? A lot of the bosses have really cool unique items, but it's really frustrating to fight the whole arena for a 1/3 chance to fight the boss you need.

controller targeting is now build specialization and context specific. For lack of a better term, it's "smart". But it still does dumb things in some edge cases so we will need feedback to find and fix them.

Question: Why are there hidden modifiers in the endless arena and what provokes them? I've seen my enemies look like they're "enraging at half health" because they've clearly been scaled up, and then they scale down when they die, yet there's no indicator underneath the minimap of this modifier. So why are they enraging? It seems as though it happens after I type in chat much more regularly, is it some sort of anti-camping / standing still thing or something? I love the endless arena and I hate this inconsistency.
It's a standard monster modifier. Rare and magic mobs can spawn with the "of Rage" suffix that adds "Enrages at Half Health" text under their health bar (rares each spawn with a prefix and a suffix, magics each spawn with a suffix). I was asking specifically about the endless arena though, are there just random modifiers that don't show up in the normal area per wave? The reason I'm asking is because it seems to be motivated by something like standing still or talking in the global chat (which would probably come from standing still), where if you stand around for a while then hit "next wave" then the next wave the monsters are going ape shit out of no where. I would like to know why
In order to have some variability in the waves so you are not just on auto-pilot and things are more interesting, some mobs can randomly spawn as Magic or Rare enemies.
So is it just random and not related to anything I'm doing? It seems like standing still generates far more difficult enemies, making skills like arcane ascendance a liability (because you stand still while using it), but am I just imagining things?
There is no "standing still" punishment. The only thing is that the next wave does eventually auto-start if you take too long to kill the previous one in the same set.

It's good to hear what people want and that can go in "Unlike any other". We've got all our options and are weighing them carefully.
A poll could be interesting to find out what people want but almost all of the options you would expect to see on that poll are just impossible. We also don't really use polls that way. It's a tool to gauge the community desire on something which then gets a seat at the table in the larger discussion. We don't use polls to pick something. It just so happens that in the past, poll results have lined up with what we were already planning on doing.

t1-5 work just like any other affix shard and can be added to get more tiers
all? depends on the line for viable. I think all of them have something interesting that could make them very useful in different builds. Some of the builds that they fit the best with might just not be strong enough in the first place.
actually, yea, the opportunity cost of a single affix is low enough that I think all current sets could see some play in viable builds.

Maybe this was already addressed, I haven't played since season 1, but any plans to balance the movement speed/traversal skills for all classes? Playing with a rogue in your group meant walking through an empty map and letting them get every objective.
If you'd like for something to change please post feedback or a suggestion in the #1210281911872786482 / #1210282176680169562 . There has been no mention of narrowing down the speed of all the classes. (would be weird imo if a sentinel in full plate moves as fast as a rogue but i get you're coming more from a gameplay experience side of it)

In the 1.2 picture, we could see the two-headed dragon which is now part of the 1.2 and the 1.3 which seemed to be themed around the woven is also included in the 1.2, it's the main thing.
Now, in the old 1.2 features, I noticed this, since everything is merged together : "+Primordial Uniques" and "+Primal Hunt Endgame Events", are they still a thing/cancelled ? Or are they maybe scheduled for the 1.3 ?
(My question may be silly after what we saw in the trailer + interview but.. heh)

Good afternoon, i don't know if this is possible but could you please consider showing a small video of how the new exalt switching rune works in tomorrows dev talk on stream. I hope im not being unreasonable in the request and its not too late asking this. Just from myself and others i talk to it would be greatly appreciated to see how the item changes to clarify any pre assumed thoughts. It dosnt have to be the full process of what the system is it could just simple be a screenshoot of an item before and after the new ruin is used. Ideally an example item that has multiple tiers of exalts on it like a 1hd sword with t7/5/6/3. Please and thankyou.

Here's an example of what the rune could do
so basically lets say the item in use is a 1hd sword with prefix t7 crit multi, t5 flat light dmg, suffix t6 fire pen hybrid, t3 stun chance. after using the "shuffle rune" what would the possible result be. would it be an 1hd sword with prefix t7(x) t5(x), suffix t6 (x) t3(x) where "x" represents any valid possible affix for that slot

Hey Mike, pretty excited for s2 here, do you know if there is any mention of having to re-do the campaign, over and over again as the form of leveling still, i read about monoliths possibly unlocking idols slots/passives, so you only have to do the campaign up to mastery.

We aren't afraid to have some classes with 4 masteries and others with 3 so likely you'd see a 4th mastery before a full on 6th class with 3 masteries of their own.

With sets having the possibility to be turned into shards what role do set items play? Are they there to provide set bonuses in early game before we can apply them to rares? I presume there is no reasonable tuning that could match set to an exalted item
1 example : set affixes wont include all the affixes, but a fixed hybrid one chosen by EHG, so you might still want something from a set item
(example, maybe the "Invoker's Static Touch" set affix wont be "gain ward when you hit a shocked enemy")

Each set item has 1 specific hybrid affix that is always created as a shard.
[Disclaimer: I don't know the actual affix for this off the top of my head, this is just an example to explain it]
Ferebor's Persistence has the following affixes.
+(100 to 181) Armor
+(100 to 181) Armor for Totems
+(10 to 18) Intelligence
+(10 to 18) Health Regen
+(10 to 18) Health Regen for Totems
The set affix that comes from Ferebor's Persistence could hypothetically have int and Health regen if we picked those 2. It would always have those 2 specifically. They would have 7 tiers where the roll ranges are not necessarily linked to the set item at all. There is no way to pick different affixes for the set affix to use.
I should also mention that while we were going through and picking out which affixes to use, some minor adjustments were made to some items and their set bonuses. If you're trying to plan out which set affixes are going to be the best now, it'll be very tricky to predict.
This brings up so many more questions, but I appreciate the effort in writing all that into discord. There are so many detailed changes that i'd like to see before April 2nd, but I assume there's a plan to release all of this information over the next 3 weeks?

Maybe a slight question. I think I remember hearing the aim was to get the essence (or some word like that) of the set item into the affix. After looking through the sets to just think about some possibilities, did you have to combine any set stats into fewer lines to accomplish that?

You can't really combine them like that in affix form. So no. We did a single hybrid affix for each. Important to note that some affixes that are sitting on Set (and unique) items look like 1 affix but they are actually 2+ affixes in disguise. These couldn't be used.

Hybrid affixes are affixes that take up 1 affix slot, but have 2 stats on them. Experimental affixes are a good example of this. Set shards are similar: 2 stats inspired by the set item that take up 1 affix slot as 1 hybrid affix

i get what hybrid typically means, but they are making their own hybrids up here, they are combining 2 existing stats into a hybrid

One of the things that makes me struggle to stick to ARPG's is the lack of carry-over in between seasons/cycles. Are there any plans to release objectives with seasonal cosmetics/trophies to earn? Yea, it was great to get Holly in front of the camera for that. She has been the driving force behind most of the game since almost day 1. If it ever seems like I know what I'm talking about, it's really probably just me repeating things she has said.
As for objective based seasonal cosmetics/trophies, it's something that we are very interested in but haven't implemented for Season 2.

Maybe you've already discussed this and I missed it, but I see you saying set affixes go up to T7, but they can only be crafted, right? So...how do you craft up to T7? Is this just different for set affixes?
there will be a rune that can shuffle the tiers of affixes on an item. for example an item with affixes of tiers 5 4 5 7 could end up with affixes of tiers 7 5 5 4
So the normal restrictions apply, but havoc (I think it's havoc?) can shuffle it. That makes sense. I'm still thinking about the mechanics we have now ><

Is balance the reason you went with this route? As a player having more options (more affixes to choose from) I think would be more fun personally. I.e. 1 affix (not hybrid) from a set but your choice to gamble on which one you want.
Are you making quest rewards better? 90% of side quest rewards are so bad its waste of time to do those. Well basically every quest outside idol slot/passive skill quests

COF prophecies that trigger with boss/echo boss.
In empowered mono if you choose to fight the harbinger, and you die fighting it, the items from prophecies still on the ground will be lost.
In the new patch, has been done something to trigger the prophecies on the harbinger defeat, instead of boss, to give them the same behavior of boss items?

balance and scope, allowing all would have required creating hundreds more. There are also some that would have required that we just remove them from the item or nerf the item into the ground and we really didn't want to do either of those.

Mike, there's a node on shadow cascade (Leveraged Momentum) that gives % more DMG based on attack speed. There's also a node called Crushing Darkness that gives 30% more DMG but at a cost of "no longer scales with attack speed"
Both are working together, you don't get the AS scaling but you get the damage scaling through attack speed.
Is that a bug? Because the node clearly states "no attack speed scaling" shouldn't Crushing Darkness cancel the other Node? And if is intended, maybe can the node be worded in a way that is more clear?
Hi, can we expect that the partner like LastEpochTools and Maxroll will have the updated information when the patchnote drop to start theorycrafting the new build or not before the actual 1.2 launch?
This is indeed a confusing wording but that mean the attackspeed won't make your skill attack faster anymore, but the more damage is still active.
I've been playing a build based on leveraged momentum for years now and I never took crushing darkness because I read 
builds will launch at the launch day but updated info maybe earlier
I'm not sure what their schedule is like for updating info. I assume they both have CT access and are probably preparing database updates. We do sometimes make small changes last second though.

I'm not sure what the rules are. I would assume that they can't release anything that isn't included in the patch notes until the patch actually drops.
Hey Mike, we just had a conversation on stream about this. The nemesis only bases, not only do they seem insanely rare to find, but they also almsot never seem to upgrade? I did well over 40 harbingers with one of the nemesis bows, and it did not upgrade. Is their currently a bug causing them to not upgrade, and is there a problm with their relative rarity?
not that I know of but afaik they always should upgrade? (also harbinger, not nemesis I think)
Mike, I have a pretty tanky character, doing 1.5k corruption all across the board yet doing Hereot at 600c is a pain since his "hurricane" 1 taps me.
Defensively the character its in a pretty good state, the map mods is also not the issue.
Will we see improvements on enemy's DoT on season 2?
There's a lot of DoT enemy skills that are still an issue and not balanced at all

I played for months in CoF and never found 1 good Nemesis base worth keeping. And I hunted Nemesis in almost every echo cause I am a full clear noob.

Can an item have two set affixes? If yes, would it count towards both sets? Random example: Isadora's Gravechill Gloves + The Last Bear's Fury Gloves

Yeah they randomly spawn from the Nemesis, but then you kill the Harbinger to upgrade them. They were outrageously rare and even if you got one worht keeping, they never seem to upgrade. I have never seen a single build guide recommend using them

I know someone asked if the Rune of Redemption respected affix rarity when rerolling an item, but does the Rune of Havok? Or is it just totally random reroll of tiers (as far as which tier is applied to which affix)?
Ever since I saw the new nemesis weapons I wanted to make a build around a scorn sceptre with spell crit as an affix and ideally some void viable mods.
If we take 80% chance for nemesis to occur, 25% for it to contain a nemesis weapon, 1 in 12 for it to be the right base type, 1 in 26 for it to be the right mod, 40% chance for it to not reroll spell crit and assume 20 runs per hour. We get almost 200 hours just to see a scorn sceptre with spell crit.
Using the Unique Item Progression Tool from The curse: That is almost 4 times rarer than a 4lp vortex pennant (53h). Or a 2lp wings of argentus with T7 + exact T5 mod slammed (58h).
As CoF, they might as well not exist.
