Is it possible in future to have the damage of skill like Holy Trail to be directly in the tooltip of the main skill? When I want to see if an item increase the damage I have to go inside the skill and press Alt and check the dmg change... this is quite unhandy

Hello. I was wondering if the spell component of tempest strike is considered a direct or indirect spell cast. "Lagon's answer" in the shaman tree casts storm bolts on direct spell casts, so I'm wondering if the spell component of tempest strike fits this requirement as the ability has two components.

Lastepochtool is not managed by EHG, you should rather see it with its owner.
It is up to date, it's just that items have affix scalers. Like how a chest piece with cold resistance will roll higher than a glove with cold resistance even though they both have the same affix tier. The idol you're looking at has the same thing for the purpose of scaling generic idol affixes.

for gear the range of a affix is shown the same way has idol and can be reroll with a rune of refinement

Other idols can have the "increased armor" affix , but idol affixes don't have tiers. So instead they use the affix scaler to give some idols more and some less
For example the 1x1 idols have a 0.17 scaler, all affixes on 1x1 lagonian idols only get 0.17 of their actual value

Here's anathor example, both these idols have the exact same damage over time affix, but you obviously want the bigger one to give more of the stat so its scalar is set higher. But the affix scalar is global so affixes specific to the big one have to be adjusted so that when the scalar is applied they get the appropriate amount of the stat.

so, I've been attempting to play 1.1 on my steam deck since it launched on Tuesday. Essentially the same level of crashing as in 1.0. what was done in 1.1 to attempt to alleviate this problem, and what needs to be done in order to make it so I can play properly without crashing as frequently?
to put it into perspective, I've crashed maybe 5 times in the span on just a few hours of play before I gave up and started using the laptop. I have no crashed while using the laptop yet, and I've been playing consistently on it since I switched off the deck. I want to say well over 10hrs at this point.
can I expect any hotfix changes for 1.1 to fix this? or am I waiting for 1.2 for anything truly major?

not anytime soon, if ever. its a technical limitation currently
damage reduction = YOUR damage is reduced, therefore all effects tied to your damage value are affected. things like life leech. at higher levels this becomes an absolute nuisance.
shield = essentially the same as the damage reduction. any difference in ttk might be attributed to build differences and other factors, we really don't know exactly how close the shield values are to the original ttk with the damage reduction. it's going to be near impossible to tell at this point, but it is in my eyes quite negligible.
in the end, the shield change may visually be unappealing to some because it gives the appearance of giving the bosses more health to chew through (which is not the case), but it is a change for the better as it enables other damage related mechanics to no longer suffer. what ttk difference exists, is so minor we're all going to forget this as a "problem" soon enough.
also to add, these shields are not to have you "experience the fight" and pad it out, it's just to fix the dr problem. the fight getting padded out, like I mentioned, is likely due to your own ttk disparity as a result of this being the start of a cycle and builds not being fully optimized yet in comparison to when you were playing in 1.0.
If this a bug let me know and i'll post it elsewhere. But I can't find any instructions on how to access "banked" blessings on an alt. I just beat first mono boss on my cycle alt and made my way to blessing respec lady. There I tried to respec my blessings just for it to show the only discovered blessings I have are the 2 I just discovered.
My first char of the cycle is "burning" HC SAF lvl92 and this character is in the same.
The steam deck isn't an officially supported platform, it just happens to work surprisingly well most of the time. It is a platform they're looking at maybe supporting in the future though since they already have controller support as well as it already working quite well.
Do the two characters share the same stash?
I'm familiar with that at the very least. as it stands "work surprisingly well most of the time" doesn't apply, at least to my experience with the device. if possible I was hoping a dev could respond with some technical know-how on what got added in 1.1 to help, and what is planned. I might be one of the few interested in hearing the progression of this, but considering it's the 1 hurdle between me and my girlfriend playing together (I use her laptop atm in lieu of the deck) I'm incentivized to try and get an answer, even if it's "it will take a while".
I very much appreciate how well it controls on the deck when I am playing hand held though, thought I'd let everyone at EHG know that.
edit: if there are some tricks to help curb the crashes, I'd love to know

Wondering about the harbinger drops, been farming the same boss for a lot of attempts now and have seen none of the harbinger drops (except the first eye), do I have to complete the forgotten knight quest, to enable the drops or am I just unlucky?

if i'm going for a DOT build with bleed and poison over time should i ignore tooltip DPS or does it calcuate it?

i got several prophecies to kill immortal eyes in monoliths (non corrupted). If i am correct its the mob in the second picture. I have killed 20+ of them in "blood, frost and death" but the prophecies are not progressing. is it bugged or am i simply doing something wrong?

There are two different undead eye enemies that look almost identical to each other, make sure the name matches exactly. If it does and it still doesn't progress for you, use the in game bug report tool or #1210281997591908452

Hi Mike how is it going? I have to ask, on arena when we kill a lot of mobs at once, the corpses staying on the ground are making the game drop in fps. I was wondering if there will be an option for deactivating corpses in general. Because I go from 60 fps to 25 sometimes, and it happen also during mapping when it's quite crowdy. I don't have specifics on how to make steamdeck work better. We are actively developing our steam deck support though as we are working towards that checkmark. I don't have a steam deck or any experience with them myself but many community members have got it to work well. I'm not sure which settings they are using but if you search reddit or probably here too, I have seen people detailing how they got it to work in the past.

Filter question I am getting this error: unobtainable due to other conditions: Item type on a crystal wand when I try to select mana as an affix will the filter still show the item?
If you put an affix on an item that can't have it, it won't work.
@placid plinth Do Forged Weapons also get the implicit stats of your weapon? or only the explicits ones?
Are mtx just for the weapon type they mention? or can I cover a dagger with a sword, and a sword with dagger mtx?
depends on the MTX, for example the deep katana two handed works only for two handed swords while the one handed versions works for multiple different one hand weapons like sword dagger axe

only time i have noticed not being able to pick something up, is when i'm fighting a boss, or an enemy who has a health bar that gives a number percentage. i can't pick up anything until it dies ๐ not sure if this is what you're experiencing or not tho.

probably because of bonus stability. in arena you always max it out, while in normal nodes you probably leave with like 50% of it, so in the end you get roughly the same
It basically pretends you either killed 2 or 3 bosses. It's guaranteed to give 2 bosses worth of loot and 50% chance to give 3 bosses worth of loot for a total 2.5x multiplier

do you have something on num lock trick? it can be interrupting until the ability enters the main part of the caste process. some abilities have a very short interrupt window, this is usually on abilities which can CC or move you so they need to respond very fast (like warcry).

No not using the numlock trick. What's the benefit of that interruption window? To me it just makes it feel "clunky".
Friend of mine didnt get the empower unlock (cuz we did them togteher so only I got the eye), does that mean he has to rerun all 3 or
if nothing is interrupting you, it doesn't stop and just needs a tap. It's so that you don't get locked into an animation for as long so you can use things like warcry or a movement ability more reliably to save yourself.

Would it be a possibility to add better functionality for price checking in the Bazaar? Right now it's somewhat convoluted, I'm thinking maybe something akin to the equipped item slot in the Bazaar except you put the item you're price checking and it shows you all items similar in stats that other people have put in? You can have, say, a sliding percentage based bar that accounts for how close the stats are to the item

Trubleshoot? im having no issues in any other online game, so the problem is clearly on the server side. Im also having no Latecy, stuttering og lagging issue once im inside i zone.
I have no idea what the estimates that they had were. I try so hard to not pay attention to player counts for any game really. I kinda go off of how it feels in game, on the forums/reddit/youtube and in discord. So yea, I'm happy with the returning player numbers. I think we're going good though and the quality of the release was so much better that I think we are off to a very good start.

Be aware that if you spent the same time that you full clear an echo instead doing more echos you explore the same amount of echo per time (=> same amount of nemesis) while also progressing echos.
Apparently it only counts for the echo owner from what I read earlier

Hello. There are a lot of totem buffs for various conditions in the shaman tree. My question is when you are for example shattering totems and constantly resummoning them, do these buffs (like resistances or the more damage multiplier) constantly appear and disappear, or is there a hidden small duration for these buffs so its not constantly appearing and disappearing? ( maybe an internal frequency (in time) where the algorithm that applies these buffs checks for totems to exist)

If the buffs are worded as a static effect like a passive node that says "+5 health for totems" then they get them as they are summoned as static stats and they just have them.
If it's a triggered ability based on when you have a totel or not, that gets checked when totems enter and exit so it's applied instantly.
If it's a temporary buff created by and ability, it applies to whichever totems were alive when it happened for the duration that ability says.
If you're not quite sure still, post a picture of the specific nodes you are interested in.

hi I get random freezes when I play the game, when I open my skill tab it freezes for 3 sec when I level up it freezes for 3 sec when I i go to a new area it freezes for 3 secs. Has there been a solution for this? I play on a new gaming laptop so there would be no issues on ghraphic card of GPU

Currently it's not working for bosses outside Monolith and Aberroth, but we are working on a for fix it.
But it should consider it kind of like killing the boss always 2 times, with a chance for 3rd time.

more complex unique stats like bleed chance conversion generally don't apply to minions. It works with things that you would generally find on a basic affix shard.
it is converting tho, that part I am sure of, otherwise my weapon that has both bleed and ignite chance would be giving mobs bleeding, which doesnt happen, the % being added together you mean as in, it would go up to 100%, but not above?

Are you planning on improving the monolith progress? I spent 350 hours last cycle trying out 7 different characters, and now I just completed my first monoliths again with a completely overtuned new spellblade. For the first time, I was able to almost one-shot the last campaign bosses. The last boss, which usually would take me a couple of tries, now gets literally melted through the first phase, doing one sequence of the same animations and crystal spawning while having only 1/3 HP.
When I noticed a progress of 5 echoes after completing my first 3 of the level 100 monoliths, I stopped caring about your new addition to the game and simply quit. I really hope there is something you guys are planning to improve with this system because right now it feels like a donkey with a carrot ride. I am so demotivated by having to do the same grind that I stopped caring about the new harbinger addition.

While both types are called healing totems with same duration/heal amount and visual look when you summon them they don't share totem limit. I can have two of each out and only one type is affected by spriggan form's skill tree.

I'd like some clarification on how Mana Storm's Mana Arcs interact with other nodes on Mana Strike's tree since it says it benefits from other nodes on the tree:
-if Yrun's Penance is used to convert Mana Strike into cold, will that also convert Mana Arcs to cold?
-does Mana Spark also add base melee damage to Mana Arc? would it be spell damage since Mana Arc is a spell or does it just fail to add any damage?
-do Celestial Precision or Critical Rejuvenation affect Mana Arc's base crit chance?
-do Mana Arc hits add extra stacks of Rune Sap
-do nodes like Critical Mana or Arcanist's Blade also give their additional mana from Mana Arc critting or hitting an enemy, in addition to the mana gained from the same Mana Strike that triggers that Mana Arc? if so, is that mana gain also impacted by Teleporting Strikes and Mana Drain?
-can Mana Arc apply Spark Charges from the Spark Charges node?

What was the thought process when adding the LP loot filter in its current state as it achieves absolutely nothing. For example there is no way to filter out a trash ring that always drops 2LP commonly from say a red ring that rarely drops with LP. You've added a filter which makes players miss out on seeing good items in order to no see bad ones....
You can filter for specific items though
level range and item subtype can help isolate specific ring(s) to include or exclude in your filter(s).
for example, Silver Ring and Level Between 79, 81 will target specifically the red ring of altaria

The short version is that you can't put it back in the box and there is such a thing as too detailed filtering in our minds. As others have said, you have more control over it for different item types.

mana arc is a spell so it doesn't get added melee damage

mana return only works from mana strike itself

If this is offline, it's expected to be caused by a 3rd party program doing a live sync or backup of sorts. one drive, steam sync, google drive, dropbox, or something like that.

yes, you could be circling in the opposite direction, go the other way (they always go the same way)

Sorry if it has been answered before fellas, regarding the raptor sword "Naal's Tooth" how are the Adaptation and Taste for flesh nodes interact with the mini raptors? Do they apply for each one individually or does the game count them as a collective so its 10 kills by any raptor evolves them all and any raptor takes a kill then they all get the stacking bonus?

What do you think about when altering a skill like lunge to have no need for a target are some changes only on skill trees like base conversion

When altering a skill how do you decide to put it on the tree or on a unique, are some alterations like conversion always going to be on the tree
Oh I understand. There isn't really a hard rule about it. Lots of little things come into play. We sometimes use items of the same slot to make specific effects mutually exclusive. We will often put effects which have a low compatibility ratio with other nodes in the tree on items. We will often put effects which are outside of the typical theming of the ability on an item.

Could you help me understand how the Flame Walker passive works?
I have 5 points in it, which should mean that I have a 50% chance per second to cast Fire Aura. I don't have any other sources of Fire Aura, but I notice that sometimes my Fire Aura stacks as high as 5 or 6, and I'm not sure how it's getting that high. Even if it rolls the 50% success on every second, I would've thought it would cap out at 4 stacks, since by the time it creates the 5th stack in the 5th second, the 1st stack would wear off. What am I misunderstanding?
This is on a level 27 character so I don't have Fire Aura from Flame Ward, I don't have Fire Aura idols of any kind, and I don't have Burning Hands. I'm specialized to Mana Strike, Frost Claw, and Flame Ward.
Edit: Nevermind, it's because Dilation in Flame Ward also extends the duration of Fire Aura from its base 4 seconds to roughly 5.32 seconds.

When you plan features ahead of time, how early do you start working on them ? Is there already people starting to code features for 1.3 or 4 for exemple ?
It was a case of going in with the design constraint of need to create another unique drop for Void Rahyeh. Rahyeh obvious has a fire and sun theme by default, and combining that with a void/darkness/corruption theme naturally leads to a combination of fire and void for the modifiers, and the inclusion of "eclipse" in the name.
Throughout the game there are a lot of experiments in trying to make slower hitting builds feel more rewarded, because our systems (and many ARPG systems in general) tend to reward faster hitting builds by default. That's the problem, the reward is so high that if they were in every zone, we would have to cut the reward to shreds.
I disagree; the people who are gonna play a lot and farm will be target farming very specific rewards. The more casual players who might play will be the ones benefiting more. Itโs not as if people who find the Nemesis shrines are getting godly end game gear, itโs decent stuff to help to the path of farming, which the hardcore ARPG player will already be doing

I think I'm done though, really was looking forward to this cycle, but having lost one character to mob-specific lag yesterday in monoliths (that has been present since launch) and now losing another today to a loading screen, I can't justify playing. No, but if they could it would scale off their attunement, and minions can't have attributes like attunement either.

Yes, the audio is there and it helps. But I dont really understand where I should move at that moment. Sometimes the beam will just appear right inside my character and I die instantly

Hey, I'm just curious as to a timeline when we can expect a fix for the ongoing Co-Op issues that have been present since launch?
I know it's probably not high on the priority list, but there's still so many issues with Co-Op, such as;
Entering dungeon as joinee with the host puts you under the ground in the map, causing you to leave/rejoin which results in not being able to join the dungeon.
Empowered Monoliths are not accesible via Co-Op, if you're the joinee and you and your friend run through all the Monolith Echos and obtain all blessings/beat the final boss, only the host gest access to empowered echoes.
Frequent desync between joinee and host, to where neither can access menus for dungeon/arena keys, having to leave game/re-host to fix it. Also causes one of the players to stand still on their own screen, seemingly unable to act, but the other can see them moving normally.
Edit: Also; the Husk of Elder Gasparr fight in the last monolith has completely desync'd tri-beams. The correct way to dodge them is to actually put yourself inside of the tri-beam to your right, and it won't damage you, but if you're in the middle between the beams, you'll take full damage from the beam behind you that's not touching you.
Hey, how likely are you to drop Harbinger's Needle. The item seems really good but it fells kinda rare for me atm.
Multiplayer stability and performance continues to be our 1st priority and we have made many very significant improvements in this category recently. Bugs that didn't get caught are likely due to one of two reasons. First, we just don't have enough data yet. It might have been an issue that was intermitant or maybe we couldn't reproduce ourselves. Maybe the logs had no information in them. Sometimes we will plant new logs to help discover the cause in future updates. Second, it's actually a new bug with similar symptoms. Sometimes two bugs can look like the same thing but it's actually a new thing which just looks very similar. Or a secret three, it's just something else.
Regardless of why, I don't have any information on the status of any individual bug or their potential fixes. We work to fix all bugs that get reported so if you'd like to help it along, when it happens, leave a bug report using the proper in game bug report tool. We can collect more data that will help us fix the issue.
I don't know the specific drop rate. It is intended to be fairly rare and mostly start showing up as you're in empowered monoliths.

For "poison skill", the Poison tag must be in the scaling tags of the skill tooltip - the minion tags section doesn't count (that would make it a "poison minion skill" though).

I was on my rogue and transformed into a character named Slimy and was a paladin with a full inventory and completly different stash was not my character happened twice in a row :(( and then it eventually makes me teleport to a way point then my character goes invisible and all i can do is logout

I finished the normal monolits with a friend of mine yesterday and, my friend was the one leading the party and he ended up unlocking empowered monolits while I didn't, for me it says 9/10 timelines completed, I guess one of the timelines just didn't count for me for whatever reason, is there any way to figure out while timeline I have to re-run?

No, that line gets replaced with a different stat when you kill a harbinger

If it procs lp on first empower it can increase the lp on the second empower, it cannot give it a stat if it already gave lp.
If it gave a stat on the first empower it can give it more stats and or upgrade the existing stat on second empower, but it cannot give it lp on second empower.
The first empower is guaranteed to do something the second one is not
You have to have the item EQUIPPED for it to transform

This dependson your desktop environment, but for example ubuntu hase appearance settings for mouse curser style and size
You install it with sudo apt install gnome-tweaks and then you cah change all this stuff. But if you run something else than GNOME that has its own way

Any plans on allowing loot to stay on the ground in monos between portals? What I mean is, if I portal out of (or die in) the mono, while my friend is still in there, then portal back in again, any loot that was on the ground is gone.

Hey EHG, are you planning on adding a reverse-support for Shuriken's Acrobatics node? What I mean is that I and most probably the majority of people are using it as a movement skill weaved into their movement rotation. The problem is that you have to always have to click to your target direction, pull the cursor behind you, cast Shuriken and then pull mouse back to movement direction and Evade / Shift / etc. Are you planning adding support to cast Shuriken's Acrobatics' backflip towards the cursor?
They have not announced such a change to be planned and as such you won't get an answer here regarding it, if you would like it to be changed please post in the #1210282176680169562 so that it can be logged and considered. The more people suggest something the higher the odds of it changing.

Just did heoros or what this antlered horse is called. It had FIVE ward sections + his 2 invulnerability phases.
I am sorry but this is just annoying and I am super glad I am currently sitting on a char that has really strong damage. If I would have played a sub par build this ward system would have made me quit already. I am really concerned how bad this will be in empowered monos.

They have a CT program where members of the community test the update well before it comes out, this system was tested both internally and by the community and they made adjustments based on feedback from both, so I think it's safe to assume that they felt atleast fairly good about the system when the update came out, if they thought the implementation was bad they wouldn't have put it in

Think so? Can't find Mike saying yes to this specific scenario through a quick search (did find a lot of instances of him saying no to double dipping on pure minion stats) but I feel like it should work, since you're giving them the minion damage, and then they're gaining the "your" damage as you say. Unless the entire affix doesn't work (which i could be shocked by tbh since it's just damage) it should double dip afaik.

It works, same as all similar effects. Skill must have the Poison Scaling Tag. Minion Tags don't count unless it specifies "[tag] minion skill".
Only primalist skills that can meet this condition are entangling roots converted to poison and serpent strike (currently bugged atm to lose the poison tag if you take the cold node).
So not a single druid skill is affected by it? That seems weird. Given im running a full poison build and it doesnt affect any of thorn totem, serpent strike, swarmblade

yeah it's currently bugged right now, we don't have the actual formula but it gives around half your corruption over 100, so if you have 500 corruption it'll give you around 200 bonus, but not exact, it's not linear. This is also considering your lower timeline's corruption is 100
am i correct in thinking that if you parry with the sword catcher equipped, the 5 second frenzy proc will override any shorter, but higher effect frenzy you have and lower the flat damage given by sword catcher?
6 minute slow mode edit: so frenzy effect on frenzy totem wouldn't scale it... damn
Question about the lore hunt: In a case like the example on the website, would it be enough to screenshot the NPC, or would you need that specific dialog part to be on screen?
The damage is affected by the stat "increased effect of frenzy on you" individual sources of frenzy with increased effect should not affect the the damage it grants but yes, it will override any previous frenzy effects
I would go for as specific as you can but the right npc is probably enough

Okay im pretty sure Aftershock is bugged like crazy, isnt the small pillar animation supposed to be an aftershock? i only ever see ONE popping up even with several investments into the aftershocks

There has not been any official EHG reponse to said report (since march 12) but it seems that the interactions around aftershock are actually really bugged.
However it is hard for me to verify since i am not entirely sure if im looking at the correct animation since there is a lot going.
However i do believe its a Stalagmite that is growing up after using earthquake and it only ever occus once - when it should technically be 2-4 | 4-6 times (depending on talents)
That's not the bug report tool in game. The in game tool goes directly to our tracking system. We also don't reply to bugs on the forums unless we need more information from the person. The in game tool is way better and provides way better information. Please use the in game bug reporting tool. Even if you aren't sure if it's a bug. Even if it's not a bug, please just use the in game bug reporting tool.

I know that through the nemesis system empowering a unique with LP has a chance to add LP to it. But what about empowering a legendary? Does it have a chance to add another affix? Does it upgrade the existing affixes?
the egg says you can place a unique item in it, legendary items are a different tier and can't be used

Yes, because those stats are actually 2 "normal" stats behind the scenes that are being displayed as 1 complex stat.
I reset the passive points of each character and the exp of the merchant faction did not transfer

When was the last time a dev fight Heorot? Every single mechanic of that boss has some kind of bug, th boss moves are janky, ice pillars are hard to see in the middle of the storm. Im slightly confused, in the original post on the lore hunt, the screenshot example was a piece of lore given by something in game that was a piece of text. So there was an assumption thats what it would be about, but withotu giving away too much, this seems to not be the case? Might just be me not being entirely sure what 'lore' refers to in the lore hunt details post. (I.e. is it a specific thing that we click on that has the 3 dots, or is it more vague)

If you use the stash transfer button in your stash, your faction rank should transfer over.
You do use them to exit echoes in the end game a lot. Also to warp to other players in multiplayer. Other than that, they don't have a huge use in the campaign.

Lore is classified as any interactable object that creates a Dialogue box. This could be a Page, a chest, and NPC, etc.
The riddles (once solved) will point you to the piece of lore you'll need to find.

is it so elite enemies with the affix "heals if not damaged recently" are working correctly when taking thorns dmg dont stop their affix? IE. they will heal up super fast if i only dmg them with thorns, but i gotta manually hit them with something to stop it

that's a question that warrants a super long answer lol. Short version is that orobyss is the big baddy and he goes around corrupting everything, Eterra is the good god and she tried to save the world but kinda failed so now everything is getting rekt and we have to jump between timelines and eras to stop the world from dying because of the corruption, getting the help/blessing from gods of the world along the way to help us fight against the corruption

is it on the menu that cosmetics we have applied on characters will also show in character select screen?

Focus shows an electricity bolt like it CAN be typed with the node that adds damage, but does not type it. Is this intentional?

- not sure what makes you think it doesn't type when you take that node, seems to work fine, both the little icon and the tag get added
i can start with 2 - unless it was just bugged last cycle, taking that node doesn't impact Runic Invoc's static skillbar-based node.

Not sure that this is the right chat to ask, but i am constantly getting a bug in a multiplayer where i can't pick up any items, use most of the skills, nothing happens on my screen when i use my spells but my friends can see me just fine and they can see the spelss i am casting however i can't do anything.

Is there any particular reason why monolith rewards are split to the crystal and the chest? I see no obvious reason why both shouldn't drop from one source.
The chest scales from the amount of enemies you kill and you get it regardless of weather or not you win or lose the echo reward, the reward doesn't scale with the amount of enemies you kill and you can lose it
Is there a place where I can view the affix multiplier values by slot? If that's unclear, I mean that affix values are worth more in different slots (like they roll higher on 2h weapons). Where can I see what those values are?
i feel like this should be explained ingame because this is the first i hear about the chest scaling to enemies killed
why do we have to clear through the key dungeon tiers to get to the higher ones for the first time? it seems like pointless friction and wasting some keys for no reason
This doesn't show what they want, they'd still need to do the math to find out the actual scaling value
The "affix modifier" column shows what you're looking for I think

Why are materials/shards not automatically going in the global storage ? Not a complaint, but just wondering if it's a design choice so players see what they get or a technical limitation, maybe because the material storage is in another instance.
it was an intentional design choice a while ago to treat shards and such like items. it has not gone over well and is a very common request.

Can attest. There seems to be a gap between developer intent and player intuition regarding crafting materials as "loot" and how they should be treated accordingly.
Would it make more sense to separate "common" shards from rarer ones within the drop tables so that the common ones could be treated as players intuitively expect them to (auto-looted, automatically go into material storage) while the rarer ones have shiny loot beams and are actively viewed before manually stored?
If we're being honest, nobody gets excited about a Fire Resist shard dropping, for example.

I'm curious for dev thoughts on this idea too, if we take it a step further. What if basic shards just didn't drop at all? The FP is the real limitation on most early game crafting, so what if you just had access to the basic recipes from the start--or maybe unlocked through rune of shattering--while the rarer shards were quantity limited, looted, and thus actually represented as LOOT?

Okay, so I was experimenting with a build on Rogue with Traps, I put a point in Hold This (Melee Attacks apply Traps). I then got the Jelkhor's Blast Knife that gives Detonating Arrow Melee capability. I do not see the Mines spawning when using the skill Detonating Arrow even tho it was converted to a melee attack. Is this intended or no?

Hi EHG i have just little question about QoL improvement. Today i switched helmet that give +2 too skill, so i just respec 2 points and take it off. The outcome was same as if i didnt do it, it just take 2 random points. Can u improve it so it just take the 2 unspeced points??

It seems that Warden's Echo (+20% chance for Frost Claw proc on hit) and Macuahitl (+30% chance for Frost Claw proc on hit) do not stack additively (for +50% total) but instead trigger independently, resulting in a 56% chance for 0 procs, 38% chance for 1 proc, and 6% chance for 2 procs per melee hit. Unpopular opinion maybe but having a harbinger of tyranny gatekeep access to empowered monoliths is not fun. L81 paladin who can breeze through lvl90 monos and shades or orobis and keep dying to harbinger. Can't progress in empowered and farm better gear. Why don't you get the completion for killing the mono boss?

Move or attack functionality is kind of awkward, if you hold down the button and start moving you will continue moving even though you are hovering over an enemy. Any plans to have a look at it again? Perhaps you can take a look at how D4 does it, when holding down any melee ability (such as bash) it will default to moving your character then you will start attacking an enemy when there is one within range, then you will resume moving after the enemy is defeated.
I have a fantastic visual memory, auditory memory on the other hand is terrible. So, I experience them all for the first time every time.
We don't have a ton of torchlight infinite players on the team so I'm not sure if anyone one the item factions team has or not. Probably not much. I assume it's pretty similar?
No, we've never said we are making one either. Somewhere the rumor did get started though because you're not the first one to ask it that way.
It can't hurt, there isn't a consistent memory leak that we have repro steps for or anything. If you do think it's happening to you, please make a bug report using the in game tool.
If they are worded the same and come from similar sources then they should likely stack. If one is localized to a specific situation and the other is more broad then they wouldn't. (I'm not sure how those 2 are exactly worded without looking them up). But regardless, if you find something that might be a bug, please just go report it directly.
Well, I won't act like its trade system is perfect--it's not--but I would say it's pretty good. I haven't played with LE's new trade system yet, but the complaints I hear... It's hard to know how much is legit and how much is just overly restrictive design. Yet, I don't really see botting as an issue with TLI, and that's what everyone keeps saying is the main reason for such limitations in LE. I wonder if it would be worth someone's time on the team to at least research and see if anything stands out as useful for improvement here.
That aside, both games are great and I highly recommend them to my friends, so this isn't intended to dog either game in any sense.
Taking Frostwyrm's Fury in Serpent Strike's tree not only removes the Physical tag (which the node specifies) but it also removes the Poison tag (which isn't mentioned at all).
Frostwyrm's Fury doesn't even remove the skill's ability to Poison, as it converts Bleeds into Frostbite, not Poison. Poison isn't related to Physical like Bleed is.
For what reason is the Poison tag removed instead of being Cold + Poison?
That's a secondary benefit of it in LE but not the driving factor. If bots didn't exist we would still have done the same thing for probably 99.9% of it.

The difficulty is designed to be such that if you can't do that boss, you'll likely struggle with empowered so it acts as a bit of a gear check.

It looks at the stat Added Melee Damage then it multiplies it by the ratio listed on the item. Then it gets added to any cold or void spells as the same typed Added Spell Damage just as if you were wearing a ring with +x [element] spell damage on it. Then all the normal stuff happens to the ability after that.

Can I be honest, I don't agree. I've pushed multiple characters to empowered including this build. It currently breezes through L90. I don't think this artificial difficulty spike is a good representation of a character's power progression.
If we change our minds on having a bazaar API then that would help a lot. Not having a bazaar API is intentional. Our plan is to just make the in game one better.
I'm not sure if it's possible to disagree on what the design intent was like that. But regardless, if you would like to give #1210281911872786482 on the progression, we will look there for it.

Another question: Serpent Strike's Slither has two stats: Number of Stacks and Slither's Dodge Rating increase.
At Level 3, it states 3 stacks and 30% Dodge Rating.
However, at max level, instead of receiving 10% -> 40% (2 stacks of 20%) -> 90% (3 stacks of 30%) Dodge Rating, you only get 10% -> 20% -> 30% Dodge Rating.
If this is how it is supposed to work, why does it list a scaling Dodge chance instead of just stating the unscaling mod of "10% Dodge per stack". Is this a bug or intended?
We are aware of some issues regarding chat services (this effects the Social Pane). We are currently investigating this and will post in a hotfix when we have a solution rolled out.
If the game is doing something and saying something else, that is not intended. So there is a bug there, please report it using the in game bug reporting tool. I do not know which is right.

A lot of the armor and weapon cosmetics are Imperial and End of Time themed. It would be nice to have more cosmetics themed for the other timelines. Ancient timeline would fit the druid/primalist theme very well. As for pets, the Yiqi has the ancient timeline theme but it would be great to have more options ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐. For what skill? Every one is different, usually the alt text on one of the conversions explains. If one conversion can come from an item, that one typically wins.
I think I'm just a dinosaur sometimes. Back in my day, you picked up your gold by hand, organized you chipped gems one at a time and walked to the pit and back uphill both ways.
I actually would prefer to see them skip your inventory though.

Soo I just logged in with one of my legacy chars for the first time this cycle and it had all passive points reset and all CoF progress is gone, I can not use half of my items.. this is not supposed to happen is it? I also still had all my skills even tho I had no passive points spent..

Yeah, I grew up with that too, but I don't miss it. In part because I can still play those if I want to, but mostly because I don't have nostalgic attachment to poor systems (merely limited by tech at the time, but still). My fondness for thise games was from the party play, the crazy rare drops, trading, and finally overcoming a challenge I struggled with. I think if shards are to be "loot," they need to be exciting. Generic shards aren't, so I struggle to see what positive purpose is served by making them tedious. Rarer shards have this potential, but are drowned out by the clutter.
That said, I'm absolutely loving Nemesis as a mechanic. Mad kudos for that. PoE tried similar things and never got it right, but you guys nailed it. ๐

So weird I went on my legacy falconer from 1.0 and it doesnt have the bow cast animation.
I could be wrong and have it backwards. Regardless, unless a node is affecting it, it should be the same.

QUESTION! The Harbinger of Stars Unique has an affix that gives crits a chance to cast meteor if above 0 mana. It does say however that it does not include crits from Meteor itself. Would that be from trigger meteors specifically, or would it mean that even direct cast meteor's cant trigger that effect?

I just checked the code and meteor is explicitly prevented from triggering this effect in any situation.
arcane batter halves the effect of more damage per runic energy provided by the node runic energy and halves the chance to repeat from the node copied scrolls.
What if the monolith timelines that you are shown are all the timelines where the gods failed "humankind" one way or another, are there to corrupt the Traveller into thinking that the Gods have no redeeming factors and that all timelines lead to the end of the timeline (Or at least the end of humanity)? That way the Traveller would be easier to recruit into Aberroth's/Orobyss' army; Aberroth directly confronts you (The Traveller) with the fact that the Gods have failed in each and every timeline.
However; this could mean that the timelines the Traveller visits are only the timelines where the Gods have failed and thus allowed Orobyss to influence them. You can see it in the Traveller's own timeline where the maiden opposes Majasa out of sheer desperation; where she wants to break that cycle and thus "brings forth" Orobyss. Perhaps there are an infinite amount of timelines where the gods have not failed, but Orobyss doesn't have access to them, because no one is desperate enough to break a cycle or there even be one in those timelines.
Recruiting the Traveller would be number one priority for Orobyss because of the Last Epoch's potential to traverse timelines without the limitations that Orobyss has. And thus Aberroth's appearance and conversation during the fight.
Because this is an "ask the devs"... ๐ค How far off is this level of deduction/reasoning from what the actual plans are that aren't revealed to us yet in regards to the story/campaign?
i've unlocked cof rank 10 but it looks like orobyss isn't affected by it. does rank 10 only increase drops from harbingers/mono quest bosses or is it bugged?

Well, I'll be honest with you on this one, the lore side of things has always been a weak point for me. The lore definitely goes deep. Kyle is our Loremaster and I'm hoping to get him back on the Friday dev stream again very soon to chat lore stuff because this is exactly what he's all about. I don't think you're thinking too hard about it or anything but I also can't confirm any of that being actually as intended or not.
What will happen if I craft a legendary with a unique for mage. But an item with acolyte only affixes.

Yes, a little tiny mini version was attempted to slip into 1.1 but it had some last second issues and had to be pulled. The full version is still quite a ways off.

So boss enemies have the healthbar with % shown, and those small diamond boxes that indicate when their ward will kick in. how come sometimes (not always) their hp bar passes those diamonds and they break, but no ward is triggered? is it because of X dmg dealt in that window? random? bug?

that makes no sense. i just did god hunter mono boss and im running thorns. my best dmg window is when he does his aoe blizzard attack as each tick triggers my thorns. i was doing 1-3% dmg pr tick. twice his diamond broke without ward, but the third time i reached one when i was in the blizzard (my highest dmg time) and it spawnd the ward and it took me 2 more blizzards to break the ward.
The other two diamonds/ward points before it broke while in blizzard without showing the ward.
Since i am thorns my dmg is very consistent/no swings or burst so i cant believe this is correct in this instance
EDIT: then its deffo a bug because as a thorns built FG i do not deal burst dmg, at all. will make a report
This doesn't happen, if it did it's a bug
the ward always triggers and any "overkill" damage goes to the ward, as in if a ward crystal is at 50% hp, the bosses hp will stop at 50% even if it was at 51% and you dealt enough damage in one hit to bring it down to 41%, the extra 9% damage would go to the ward. If you think you've encountered a bug please report it via the in-game bug report tool / in the #1210281997591908452
The latest hotfix broke the game again, several players lost thier items due to controller bug when swapping or dropping item, like if u press x or y it will swap the gear and drop the other one, pla this is very sad part esp to legendary
I have made a bug report as it must be a bug at this point. Thorns does not do any bursty or swingy dps, and its totally random. I will chugg the boss for 1-5% of its hp each time it hits me, burst a diamond and no ward. next diamond will generate a ward and it takes 15-20s of boss swinging at me to break the ward. not at any point has my loadout/dps/thorns changed during the two different diamond bursts.

I made another report regarding the disintegrate skill, there seems to be a issue with most of its effects last occur while its being used, meaning "After said time has passed while channeling".

So why is this not just called Cycle 2?
If Last Epoch ver 1.1 is supposed to be a brand new cycle, why did you call it Cycle 1.1 and not Cycle 2 to avoid any and all confusion that this would absolutely cause?
if it were solely server based you might expect it to not work on other characters either, so it's something with that character specifically, which could be your local files. I'm not saying it's a guaranteed fix but it's worth a shot
1.1 is cycle 2, both are correct.
It would help a ton if you could just refund the gold people invested into 1.0 cycle stash tabs to the legacy gold banks of players so we can at least buy back the storage we already farmed and paid for.

3-4 months. Content wise legacy is the exact same as cycle, cycle is just a "fresh start" pretty much
That's really not an answer to the question. The entire point of having seasons, cycles, rotations, or whatever other name you want to give them is to let people know, "we're starting up a new thing, and you need to make a new character starting from level 1 to try it out." If you say "this is Cycle 1.1," it sounds like "we're still in Cycle 1" instead of "This is a new Cycle, old characters will be shoved to Legacy."
Why is a new cycle not a whole number? It most certainly is a new Cycle, as old Cycle charcters were shifted over. I see and understand exactly zero reasons to call it "Cycle 1.1" if Cycle 1 is over and Cycle 2 is now.
It is cycle 2. It's patch 1.1
It's just an old naming convention used in older games, there's precedent set already for naming things like this that way so they're just keeping it going as to not confuse the existing playerbase of the genre. But cycle 2 and 1.1 are interchangable

Why were Ghostfire's Spirit of Dread and Spectral Menace nerfed so harshly? The build already took a significant amount of Mana Regeneration to function properly. Spirit of Dread feels terrible now.
Similarly, was it taken into account that these nerfs would scale off of the additional 8 mana added to the channel cost with the channeled ability changes? It makes the nerfs even more ridiculous.
Not sure if it's the right place to ask but I was wondering if the prophecies drop scale to character and/or zone level ?
Say I'm level 70 progressing through regular monolith (not empowered) can I still get level 80+ items from them ? I'm asking because I don't wanna waste favors.

But the math doesn't math when you up percentage increases to channel costs, because they scale off the base channel cost.
48 * 1.8 = 86.4
40 * 1.8 = 72
The changes added an additional 14 mana per second cost. Even if you take the 8 base away that the change was accounting for, the change still adds 6 mana per second to the channel cost because the increased cost is scaling off of the adjusted stat. Many other skills had their cost increases adjusted to match the discrepancy. Spirit of Dread not only didn't get a reduction, it got a 60% increase to it's channel cost penalty on top of an increase in base channel cost. It completely decimated the node's functionality.
The devs found out people could upkeep ghostflame forever and decided to kneecap it. (If you want more info, come #๐โacolyte )

with the nemesis system does higher corruption have any effect on the uniques you might get or the outcome of the eggs even chances of a LP items etc?

Is this possible to make players immune while they're viewing nemesis window? I.e. I'm playing warpath and I'm 10 times less tankier while not channeling or fighting and even after clearing everything 1 screen wide in each direction from the encounter I end up dying 1 of 4 times to some random mobs that pulled to where I'm staying somehow while trying to check what nemesis is offering me. That's really frustrating.

what was the original thoughts and reasoning behind the totally ridiculous no respawn or resurrection within dungeons, its not fun or challenging its incredibly frustrating. I know there has been mentions of something in the pipeline to somewhat sanatise it, but just wanted to understand why it was like this in the 1st place.
Yep, I wanted to post there at first but it appeared that I don't have permission to do so, so may I ask someone to post that idea there? Also forgot to mention that if you have spires objective in mono you straight up have to give up the encounter or backtrack which is annoying. Clearing 4 screens just to check that nemesis doesn't offer you anything valuable in most of times is also annoying. I'd like to see that if it's possible to make players immune, or, maybe, allow to store nemesis and challenge them later in specific location where nothing would interrupt you from viewing their offering and make a decision if you want to banish, empower or challenge.

Where can i report players for rassism and political ingame chats ? - omg poor world
tested it tons of times now and yes. i can consistently skip the ward phase on all bosses if i let the thorns dmg/reflect damage tip the boss past the threshold. every single time it will skip the spawning of the ward. This im 100% certain now is connected to how thorns interact with enemies. Some elites has an aura that reduce the dmg its allies take within the aura. Enemies inside this aura still takes full dmg from thorns.
Couple this together with skipping ward phases on bosses if thorns deals the dmg over the threshold + it not counting as damage vs elites that heals if not damaged recently i feel certain that thorns deduct hp from enemies instead of interacting with them as damage.
Meaning the boss isent damaged past the threshold, it just magically is under the threshold and thus the system treats it as the ward phase is over/never occurred.
SS and send to @jaunty pier you can also just report using the ingame bug tool as well. both are fine
The 1.1 patch notes mentioned additional stats being added with a scroll bar, but it looks unchanged to me. There are a bunch of stats I'd love to see, like for example Spell Damage. Am I missing something and its shown somewhere? ๐

Did you maybe not pick it up? regardless of what happened you'll get 9 more eyes before you unlock aberroth and they're quite easy to get in the future too so it's not a huge deal but it does suck for sure
"Tempest Weapon" in the gathering storm node gives gathering storm added damage per melee damage on equipped axe/mace.
- Does this add damage to storm bolts also?
- Does this also count non-implicit added melee damage on axes/maces?

it is intended that only the timeline owner gets credit. you need to do it on your timelines, as you were told in the other channel

Is there a benefit to Banishing a nemesis ecounter, as opposed to just challenging and killing it. They both reset the nemesis, but one also drops some affixes
Why is it you canโt progress corruption as a group? What is the thought behind the decision I guess because everything else is fully seamless, then we get to corruption and itโs like, nope only the host gets it now.

I need to ask now how "Damage dealt to attackers" are handled as from my experimentation the system dosent treat it as damage at all, more of a direct deduction from the enemies HP. I base this guess on
- enemies taking reduced dmg from elite aura does not reduce thorns dmg
- Boss ward thresholds passed by thorns dmg does not trigger ward on bosses
- Enemies that heal if not damaged recently keep healing when taking thorns dmg. Only stops when i use an ability/attack on them

Dear Devs, I have had this issue during questing in the campaign even last seasons.
It only happens ever so often taking as many quests as i can and doing the route as "fast" as i can.
In this example, im walking through The Wengari Fortress doing the silver sidequest first before i go do the gold quest in this zone.
So I walk around and I can still see a silver arrow, pointing back to the door of the zone I came from to point me to the next zone to go do a silver quest I clicked.
There also being a silver quest in the zone itself made me circle back to see what it was again.
My problem is that is just obfuscating and making me press tab to see if that still was important.
My question is your team has thought about silver/gold arrows that have a little (door?) indication you are going to transfer zone for that quest or that you are in the zone right now(as is)? Is there some thought why/why not implement that?

Focus' node "Burning Aura" reduces damage taken from ignited enemies. Is that a "global" effect, or does it only work when Focus is channeled? Wording is ambigious.

How does bleed dmg calculate? I'm playing falconer, does my DOT multi also affects bleeding dmg inflicted by falcon? Or is it overwritten, eg. falcon inflicts 10 bleed stacks doing X dmg, i inflict additional bleeding so the stacks are 11, does DMG increase - doing 11 * x% multi or is it doing 10 base bleed dmg from falcon + 1 * x% multi from my own attacks?

I beat all 3 level 90 monos and went through the cutscene in the middle and activated it, but all that did was grant access to the one level 100 area up top, my monos aren't empowered.

I have abilities on forge guard that says scales with minions damage. (forge strike, multi strike) does that mean the ability itself scales from minion damage not just the minions it can spawn

I really like the relative simplicity and reward structure of the Nemesis mechanic; however, locating them is tedious, especially when they aren't guaranteed to even be in a zone. As an amateur game designer myself, I completely understand the complexities involved, but I think something like weighting it to appear near monolith objectives (where possible) would be a good idea; it's not easy to just farm them on repeat and it rewards players who are there to actually complete the map. Not sure if EHG has a way to weight these things in their procgen tools but it would help the experience.

imo its fine to just take them when you pass em by, derailing to find them on average doesnt yield more loot necessarily as you backtrack like crazy

Technically no if you include every situation. For the most part yes though. Examples of not is in the crafting forge, it has a lucky roll chance which rerolls the roll with the first roll as the new minimum.

At a company picnic for my wife's work and it's not exactly holding my attention well.
Reflect is super low level, almost nothing affects it at all.
Not sure if your aware, but storm totem will not attack new mobs that enter its AoE. It attacks any mobs that were in range when summoned, but if anything new is kited into its AoE it does nothing. You can also easily see this when using the experimental affix to teleport minions. It will not cast anything
Yes but looking my my crystal ball, I would strongly advise not counting on finding them in low level zones.
It deals damage but it doesn't use the normal methods because it isn't affects by any of the other systems.
Bypassing the ward is a bug.
