I have not played in a year now and planning to from 1.0 but as I was checking some of the skills i used to lvl 100 back then I'm like.. you guys didn't change or balance much at all?
Dancing strikes for example still has the whole right side of the tree entirely useless like it was a year ago - we provided feedback for it a plenty too (Rhythm buff being 2 seconds is unplayable and makes that whole section moot)
I mean if I look at sentinel smite, lunge trees or spellblade shatter strike am i just gonna see the exact same things too?

You throw 5 explosive traps (total : 5), then another 5 (total : 10), then the first 5 will explode and create 5 more (total : 10), then you throw another 5 (total : 15)
How does it work with the trap cap? Do they all explode bypassing the arming time? Do they get replaced without triggering? Do you go over the trap limit, be it with the procced traps or thrown traps? Etc

Some of the masteries are viewed as underpowered in the community, and one blame I have seen stated on these is that the mastery itself is older and needs a refresh compared to newly released ones; do you agree with this sort of justification and should we expect to see refreshes to some of the original masteries with 1.0 or soon after?

I asked chatgpt to help: A special magic stone called a "rune of ascendance" can make an ordinary thing special. If you have a silver ring and use the magic stone on it, the ring might become a different special ring, like one with special powers. But, it can't turn the ring into something completely different, like a helmet. The ring keeps its shape but becomes something new and cool.

Shaman is the worst offender and we have been very vocal about our upcoming changes to it. Forge Guard is probably the community's second biggest pain point for a mastery. We aren't making major changes to that one at 1.0. We will continue to update unsatisfying masteries, skills, items, or anything else.

Tempest Strike is moving into Shaman and getting a complete top to bottom change, only thing that's the same is the name and it's still a melee attack.
New base skill which is designed to work well with shaman is replacing Ice Thorns.

Each trap is technically thrown 1 at a time. Each time a trap is in the process of being created, it checks to see if you are over your trap limit. If creating that trap would put you over your trap limit, it explodes the oldest pre-existing trap.

I just started playing the shaman. And I love my totems. Also a new player. I hope with 1.0, as you said in your response. We do not "need" to combine the self casts with totems to make it shine. My "rotation" is storm totem, thorn totems, spriggan form, healing totems twice, then wait to place storm totem again. On big creatures. Otherwise just storm totem.

like having one super spell for clearing trash. Hope we get to see a buff to storm totem, or a way to 100% convert its damage to cold or fire.
Is there a damage calculation or is it a flat damage for the ability. I see different numbers when I attack mobs, but my bow says "Range 60 to 60" (in terms of bow damage) so where does the variance derive from?

All damage has a variance that is applied
Also, weapons are the same as all other items. The "weapon damage" is just flat added damage that could be on any item. We just generally only put it on weapons.
The reason it's showing a range there is that most affixes have a roll range, that one does not.

Do Net Traps and the elusive "Acid Trap" work similar to Explosive Trap regarding arming time, maximum capacity, and triggering? And do the nodes in explosive trap regarding those values have any effect on Net/Acid trap?

Nodes that affect explosive trap only affect explosive trap. Nodes which affect traps, affect all traps.

Sigils can't exist unless it is on your bar.

I think the verbage is what makes it make sense, it doesn't say "sigils of hope have a chance to be cast whenever you kill an enemy" instead it implies that you're the one casting the skill, which you cannot do if you don't have them on the bar. an example of different verbage would be Unlimited power in static which implies that it's the node overload that casts lightning blast and not you, hence you don't need to have lightning blast on your bar.

So I have been playing beta for a long time now and the entire time, elevation (stairs/ramps) stops things like shield rush and flame rush. Is this intended or is there a plan to change this?

Figuring out how much crit exactly I have for a specific skill is one of the most tedious things in the game atm 😅

What was the reason for locking the ranged Gathering Storm node, Lagonian Diplomacy, to Staves only? I would have loved to use sceptres or wands with it too. (or some other thing with spell damage, or being able to get enough from the werebear node)

Staves are the thematic Primalist caster weapon.

I just don't have a geforce now and we don't support it as a platform really. If you try any other offline game with it, that's how it will work for saves.
Our offline mode means that the game client itself doesn't go to the internet for stuff.
The game saves offline saves to your computer. It couldn't save them anywhere else without going to the internet.

So, first and foremost I've gotta say that I love the fact you guys implemented an in-game loot filter editor. Brilliant move. That said, there are some things I wish I could do with it that I can't, and I'm wondering if there's plans to add things like And / Or logic with condition groups. It would also be nice to have the ability to only display the shards that are relevant to the class that I'm playing, so I know that if I see one on the ground I should always go out of my way to go get it. It could still pick up all the others around it, but it would be nice to know that at a glance.

There are some intentional gaps in the loot filter that we don't plan to fill. We do have some improvements coming in 1.0 but you'll need to wait until they are revealed.

The default cursor does not have any changes planned. It is impossible to give in game options to change the cursor on the fly at this time.

The way it's worded, something is up. Because when I read it, I think that 500% ignite chance would mean 5000% more witchfire damage. Put a pin that one for now because that's insane.
well, it was actually doing 2% and 6% regardless of points allocated. I've just switched it to 1% and 3% per point up to 5% and 15% total.
These are both from Mike on the 25th, just wanted to clarify, is it now working the way mike original read it but with reduced values? so 500% ignite chance gives 2500% more witchfire damage? Or does it work with the alternate interpretation where the more damage is per 100% chance to ignite/damn so 500% ignite chance gives 25% more damage?

I have a difficult time using runemaster to see which combinations I'm pressing, whenever things get hectic It's hard for me to see the runes over my character's head. And the runes on the UI next to the health globe is the main way I can keep track, but it's a bit too small for me to see. So often times I'm looking at the bottom left corner of my UI than the actual gameplay which can be tedious ( i know, skill issue right?) But perhaps there are players out there who might feel the same way.
Suggestion: I was wondering if it's possible to resize that UI or at least the Rune combinations to make it bigger or to readjust the position of where the rune combinations are located.

I've noticed over the last two days that the longer I play the game continuosly, the more likely it is to create bugs. Just now I was unable to run a monolith, as the map didnt load properly and the mobs didnt appear / didnt move. I was able to move just fine though. And that is just today.

I may be wrong, but I read it as "10% of your ignite chance". As in, if you have 500% chance to ignite on hit, it would be 50% more witchfire damage. Whereas 500% chance to damned on hit would be 150% more witchfire damage.

Restart your client at least once. If the server selection and login screen comes up immediately then the problem is a networking one between your equipment, your ISP, and the route being taken to LE servers. I live in a remote mountain community with some funky routing so this almost always comes up for me on 1st launch. Hope that helps.

If I start my character as trade faction but then decide to switch to non-trade, can I still use the crafting materials(shards, glyphs, and runes) I obtained while playing in trade? Also, can an exalted item acquired in the trade league be used for LP on a non-trade LP unique?
Yes, gold and crafting materials don't have faction tags.
For the second part, kinda? Not all items you acquire will have the faction requirement tag. You can combine any two items as long as they don't have opposite faction requirement tags. The result will have the stricter requirement of the two items used to combine.
(And just to note, all items you find in non-trade are untradeable, so any legendary you craft using one will also be untradeable)

If I take both conversion nodes in Explosive Trap and the Trapas nodes (throw a non-converted trap and one for each conversion), what type of res shred does each trap apply?
A friend of mine is having extreme issues connecting to the game, and my dad has an issue where he has a character that can't go between zones nor can he interact with anything so he can't put gear away.

People entering Legacy for the first time will always be behind the veterans. If you want to start level with people but don't feel like playing cycles long term, my advice is to start as a cycle character at 1.0 and then when 1.1 comes, just go into legacy with that existing character.

I love the fact that some of the items take literally years to farm in LE, one of the main problem with D4 was that only a part of the player base actually wanted to start from scratch in season 1, the rest just wanted to keep farming but the endgame/goal wasn't there, so most players stopped (including me and my friends). I hope that LE will always keep an eye on Legacy for those players that are used to how D2 and D3 were back in the day. People are willing to farm the endgame forever as long as it's rewarding, BDO is the best example, exponentially more difficult to level up/get upgrades, but it's prestigious when you actually do get it because it took forever!

After reading the upcoming changes to primalist, i have a question if Whirlwind Tactics will work with Summon Wolfs specialization nodes "Victory Howl" and "Snarl" where the wolves has a chance on kill to use Howl. Will this passive procc Whirlwind Tactics as well or is it only when you actively press the companion ability?

hi i've been hearing people say you can use legendary items as leveling gear coz it doesnt have a level requirement. Mine still has one.
uniques never loose their level req. but they also dont go higher either with affixes attached via legendary crafting. you can still make some good leveling unqiues that have requirements

Has any thought been put into allowing offline players to choose cycle they play, and/or extend current cycles they're playing? Seeing how they could just avoid updating, if you didn't care about online at all, you have that choice. But it could also lead to like, copying the files for old cycles and storing them, so you can boot up the game for x cycle, however that would get very annoying, so this seems like something that could be neat to be implemented?

well...legacy doesnt have a trade economy yet cuz trade doesnt exist until 1.0. all your stuff stays (gold/mats, etc) so you will have things to buy with, but you and everyone else still need to farm the MG rep to buy and sell stuff.

well, you can only have 7? traps at once so 3 of them would trigger at your feet instantly. you have to actually freeze an enemy and you can't freeze what is already frozen. also it's remaining cooldown, so if 10 freezes happen in a single frame the cooldown starts at 100% when the 1st freeze goes off, then the cooldown goes to 90%, second freeze, 81%, 3rd 72.9%, 65.61%, 59.049%, 53.1441% and so on. It doesn't remove 10% of the total cooldown each time.

So there are several places in passive trees and falconer skills that references the falcon having both "throwing damage" and "melee damage". Which skills are falcon "throwing" abilities? Are any of the base skills (dive bomb, aerial assault, falcon strikes) considered "throwing" attacks and only scale off of the falcon's "throwing damage" or is it pretty much a few of the subskills (feather knives, featherfall, featherstorm)?

Some ailments have caps. Frostbite doesn't. But each new stack does not refresh total duration. Each stack has a separate duration, essentially capping stacks.

we are updating our technical requirements. Currently they do not reflect realistic min specs to actually have fun with the game. However, performance is actually getting better with the update so if you can actually play it now, you'll still be ok.

Hello, I have a question about passives being multiplicative between each other or not
The new "Tailwind" passive from the Falconer passive tree grants less damage taken while moving, the "Evasion" passive node from rogue also grants less damage taken while moving.
On the second one it specified that it's multiplicative with other modifiers, but these modifiers have the same wording so, I am guessing they are additive, is that correct ?

most of it is one piece in the body armor, those are just individual gear pieces worn together normally

Bladedancer has really good defense, Falconer even more so, just off the passive tree alone. Go to #🔪┃rogue and ask, I promise you someone will hand you methods to have like 50k+ EHP.

For a bit Cycles and Legacy will have the same content. Later on they will not: Cycles will get new shiny content that Legacy will not, IDK if any of that will filter back to Legacy once the cycle ends ala PoE style, but for now content wise 0 difference.

Can we get some info about the Flame Whip skill attached to scorched reach/infernal lash passives in the warlock tree? It says that "while you have ignite overload and... hit an ignited boss or rare enemy, you cast flame whip at a nearby enemy"
Is flame whip itself capable of igniting? What's the cooldown on the skill, or is there none? What's the scaling on it? Etc. Sorry if this info exists elsewhere, lots of googling turned up nothing.

Question about the node "Go For The Eyes!", in Falconry:
It says that the Falcon gets 75% of our highest Added Crit Chance.
If I have 40% crit on the sheet, with 500% increased Critical Chance
Is the falcon getting :
- 500% x 0.75 = 375% increased Critical Chance (which is then added to its own increased crit chance, and then multiplied by its base crit chance)
- 40% x 0.75 = 30% crit chance, added to its total crit chance, after everything
- something else?

All cycle content will go to Legacy after the respective cycle ends. As for the market, anyone who plays Legacy doesn't need it... Just go with CoF.

Hey I see a lot of cool new armors coming in, are we ever going to be able to have an MTX that swaps two armor pieces ingame? The only problem I have with them all is that on a lot of builds, using the whole set probably isn't the most effiecient thing ever, meaning that if you want to play efficiently you end up losing on style.
Does Fissure created from Smite also convert to Void damage when you change Smite to Void?

Yes, but for defense stats and different ones and on the websites. Do you remember when WoW kinda did that, and I think D2 did it also, where players can link their accounts and see others' stats, armor, etc.?

Each second while you are in Profane Veil, you cast a Profane Orb for 6 mana. This effect of casting a profane orb every second ends up costing 6 mana per second.
If you have a 2nd veil active, that veil also triggers this effect costing you 12 mana each second by casting 2 orbs each second.
Does the Hex Flurry node also increase this cost?
(That is the node adjacent to Profane Orbs that increases the frequency)

I wanted to make sure my understanding of snapshotting is correct with Profane Veil's Scorn node. Lets assume for all cases there is a Chthonic Fissure shooting spirits to apply Torment.
- An enemy gets hit by a spirit and is Tormented, you then enter Profane Veil. The damage from Torment does not get boosted by Scorn because its damage is snapshotted from before you entered Profane Veil.
- You enter Profane Veil and then an enemy gets hit by a spirit. The Scorn does apply to the Torment damage because it was applied while you were in Profane Veil.
- You enter Profane Veil, an enemy gets hit by a spirit, and then you immediately leave Profane Veil. The damage from Scorn does apply to the Torment because it was applied while you were in Profane Veil and the damage is snapshotted so it continues to apply, even when you are no longer in Profane Veil.

Yes, you only gain the ability to trade (With the guild or player to player) via joining merchant's guild.

Hey, is there a source on how gold from echo chests work? The only positive correlation I noticed is higher corruption --> more gold from chests, but otherwise it seems completely random. Sometimes I get less than 1k and sometimes I get 60k+ abd I have no idea why
We got to a point where there were so many people with access that it didn't make sense. So they closed it down to the people whose job it is to run our social platforms. This was when the discord got a reorganization and face lift.
There are many fixes for many skills. I'm not sure what one issue you might be referring to. Please wait until the patch notes to find out if individual bugs will be fixed.
I'm not sure if kills affects gold drops from it or not but it does scale everything else.

Falcon Strikes related question, again remaining CDR: Side by Side node reduces remaining cdr of falcon strikes if you directly use a skill and hit an enemy. How would this interact with channeling version of flurry? Only the first hit after starting the channel reduces the CDR? (assuming I hit)
