UI elements that are one ofs are usually just floats. This is something that gets transmitted over the network so it's probably something more efficient with a lower maximum value. I'll check in a bit.

Another thing: for LETools, I'm referring to "passive tree" and "skill tree" as "древо талантов" and "древо умения" respectively since it's VERY hard to keep the line's length in check when it comes to ruRU in general. AND it's very easy to confuse one with another while trying to keep these translations short enough.

No. The best I can say is that if you're naturally playing together more than you are playing apart, you'll likely feel like you've got enough. If you're playing with someone specifically to get a resonance, it will feel like it's dragging quite hard.
Each resonance is linked to 1 person. Each drop is calculated independently.

They could happen to drop at the same time out of sheer random luck. Getting one for one, doesn't affect the chance or timing to get one for the other. And don't forget, all the stuff that drops while you're playing together is freely giftable between the 3 of you.

Yea, if you're playing with friends frequently, you'll probably want to include some key items for them in your filtering.
I would have assumed that resonance would not be frequent enough that you'll be unfiltering blues and yellows for other classes. That one might keep resonance for exalted and unique items only? People rarely have these items filtered out.
There are definately good blue and yellow items that you should be looking for in your filters.
You'll probably be keeping resonances for the creme de la creme in most situations but if you're playing with someone, there are blue and yellow items you will probably want to gift between each other.
Hybrid Health and Skill shards are worth trading sometimes as those can be really well sought after

Nobody in the community really has any solid idea of how powerful they will be relative to each other. There is a LOT of speculation floating around. Heck, we aren't even 100% sure which will wind up being stronger at this point. I personally do not agree with the community sentiment in this case.

Would be really nice if there was an expandable/collapsable grouping option for filters, like how health, defense, affix is, so that you can group all filters of a specific tpye together (the ones you use for your friend) and be able to turn them all on or off ine one go.

I played a couple months ago with my friend and when playing together we noticed extremely long loading times between maps (we have low ping to eachother and good connection in other games), has anything major been done to address this already or for the 1.0 update? We noticed quite allot of others reported the same thing when playing with a friend or group. We were told something about a networking update coming soon for it and was curious if it had been deployed already
So you didn't hear this from me but I know this is known so you don't have to but in the future please don't post bugs here asking if you should post them there. Just go straight there. Repeat bug reports are good because it lets us know how widespread and impactful they are.

This is something we are working very hard to improve upon. Some advancements have been made but the underlying cause is still present. This happens because when in a party, the new scene that you are entering requires a fresh server to be spun up. The long wait is waiting for that server to get going.

I don't think anything has made it in yet. I could see us maybe trying to get some sort of ladder reward worked out before the end of the cycle but nothing is set up for that yet.

I'd like to add on that I prefer this over ladder rewards as ladder rewards push competition and... well "competing" in ARPGs usually means pigeonholed to hard meta options and is very unfun.
To clarify I'm not opposed entirely to ladder rewards being a thing, I'd just prefer if there's some type of reward system that isn't linked strictly to effectively fighting against other players
Yea, we don't have anything locked in place yet. I'd really like to see something where you earn points towards rewards you can pick like at an arcade when I was a kid. I think one of those things could be doing well on the ladder.
Well, if they brainstormed the entire item factions thing, then something similar in regards to PvP isn't entirely out of their scope either.
That would be even better. Having different rewards avaialble and them costing different amount of poitns that you unlock through fulfilling achievments sounds great. This way people can also onyl focus one the rewards they want and are not forced to get 10 rewards they don#t care about to then get 1 reward they want.

We are working to improve transition time, UI and UX. It's not a simple switch to flick and it has been improved but it's not instant.
Any chance that if MG would heavily loose to CoF you add option to resell MG taged items?
I (level 84 completed the campaign) hopped in my brothers game (29 middle of the campaign) to help him further the campaign, however I could not see any notification of what his current quests were and what his objectives were. Are there any plans to give some sort of quest sync so if party members are in various stages of the campaign it can let us know the quest status of the host?
Nothing is set in stone. However, this would require a pretty dramatic community response to be even remotely considered. There are many axis we would approach enticing players to play MG from before we did that.

Just to let you know - the best way to report inconsistencies, or other translations issues you find, is through the in game bug reporter! If you want to attach screenshots, you can upload them to a hosting service like imgur and post the links in that in game bug report!

well they also said that offline mode will be treated same way as Legacy cycle, and they also said that on a new cycle legacy will miss some uniques, so its possible that offline will miss some newly added uniques on start of the cycle, but devs need to confirm that

I am a community leader for an event called BPL in the Poe community. It is a 2000 person team scavenger competition, where we break into teams of 300 to 500 and attempt to collect all of the items in the game (so to speak). I love Last Epoch (I am also a Community Tester), and would love to be able to run an event like this in Last Epoch. I would love to talk further about how this could be possible (we currently use the poe api to track scores), but the trading system seems to limit the ability for this kind of event.
Question: Is there any plan to have something like private leagues available where we could have open trade to be able to facilitate this kind of event, as the limited trade would make this very difficult. They simply "repeat" one of the relevant skills (Acid Flask, Shuriken, and Umbral Blades iirc), all modifiers or effects of it included.

As a general concept, we quite like the idea of eventually having private cycles one day. We haven't discussed how this could be done yet at all and I'm not sure if there is some major unknown blocker lurking in the shadows.
If the goal is simply to compile all the items together as a group, is there a reason why those items need to be on the same account? Could you look at all the accounts in question and then combine their items in a database outside of the game to track it instead? That could be almost done with a vanilla private cycle.
I'm not sure what would go into making a private cycle with free trade and I'm not sure if that's something we would be open to or not. We would have to discuss that to see if it's a design and technical possibility.
Given what I know about our upcoming plans and how difficult I suspect making private cycles would be. The wait time on something like this would probably be at the very least a year out at bare minimum if we green lit it today.
I appreciate your quick response!!! We can absolutely track manually and this might be the only avenue. Right now we are able to automatically tack items for POE and use our own website to show the points total, which we already have difficulties maintaining during the event. there are some API features that are still in early access that will probably get wider use that might help. We might be able to expand that in the future to smooth things out.
I'm also curious which items you think would be tracked in this "group grail quest".
Our event uses a number of features for the competition.
- Unique collection - basically anything that is target farmable, so in poe that's mostly boss or league(cycle) uniques. Since this is a more core aspect of LE, any unique might be possible.
- We do delve related things, which is similar to the arena, so like which team has the highest arena rank.
- Dailies - these are like meme challenges, so it might be like collect 500 dungeon keys, or collect 10 uniques with legendary potential and life crafted on them.
- Personal objectives - this is like, get to 80 (for poe we also use ascension or atlas completion)
- Bounties - this is like super challenges for our most skilled players, so equivalent would be like clear a tier 3 dungeon solo at level 30, or some such. We also manually track these through vods.
we also collect things like gems, or currency, which is less possible I think in LE, although gold could be usable, since shards arn't tradable, I imagine they arn't trackable.
We also incorporate races as well, but we manually track that already by doing vod submission.
The big issue is that we have to limit the number of people whos stashes can be tracked at once, or the pull takes forever
that makes sense.
with us, I can tell you that the crafting materials (and blessings) are in the same "stash" as all your other items.
they are really just special tabs that show in other UI

Yeah, there's a ton of things teased so far. The item factions, corruption changes, shaman's new skill & reworked tempest strike, healing hands skill tree, a batch of new uniques (as usual), and probably some other things I forgot about. The week leading in to the update is hype week, so we'll get some more info then. Patch notes usually 0-2 days before the patch, roughly.

It's going to be available on steam for download worldwide simultaneously on Feb 21. No pre-load. I don't have an exact time but I suspect that it will be roughly similar to our previous major patches which generally happen in the mid-morning to early afternoon Central NA time.

True offline mode precludes us from doing pre-loads at all.
Are animations getting updated in 1.0? I played for about an hour and the game just felt so stiff and snappy. Also having just a run animation but the speed feels like walking just felt off as well.
We add new and update old animations every major patch and this one is no different. It's not like we are going back and redoing every single one from scratch though (that would be insane).
The walking animation doesn't change enough based on your movespeed. I think it feels better once you get more speed. We are also making changes to lighting and the player shadows which have a surprisingly large impact on the movement animations in general.

When it says "your minions get..." That buffs your existing minions.
If it said "you get +minion melee necrotic damage" then it would apply to minions you summon after getting the buff.
This is part of why I have my DMs limited. I haven't got one since I did it.
yah i have mine limited to just mutual servers...but still get a lot...(cant limit further without possibly having issues with other servers im in haha)
I think you can set specific servers to not let non friends message.
i have a small question abt corruption rework, not sure if it was mentioned in the post, but will the base rarity/xp that u have from corruption scale the same way as it is now? as i understand as it is now it gives 1% per 1% of hp/damage of enemies

The big change with corruption is that it's harder per point.
so holding alt before would show you item roll values, now you have to hold both alt and ctrl

i found it counter intuitive that the descriptions are the default one button hold whereas i have to hold two buttons to see the roll values which is actually what im wanting to see at a frequent basis
This hasn't changed, it's always been this way. You can change a setting in your options panel which will invert the ctrl key and you can see roll ranges by just holding alt.

With the upcoming changes to corruption and enemy modifier I am really excited to do some high endgame pushing, but this topic might ruin the fun for me.
Are there any plans to look into this?
Some of the points Mike mentioned in that post were:
When the web is particularly large it creates fewer branches.
When creating a new branch close an existing branch it’ll have fewer side branches because the more echoes there are around a specific spot, the lower the chance it has of containing an echo.
These are in place to keep the web from becoming too unwieldy. You found some unintended consequences of the system

I remember that post well. I don't remember what happened after all too clearly. I know we had a meeting discussing it. That day wouldn't have been the day of the meeting because that was a Wednesday. I'm pretty sure that the echo generation algorithm has changed a few times since then. Not a huge shift but some values to limit those long chains of nothing in particular.
Have you tried recreating this at all in 0.9.1 or 0.9.2?
No I haven't. Didn't played any character this intensely the last couple of patches.
I will keep an eye on it and will ask again if I have tried recreating it.
With the upcoming cycle I will most certainly push a few characters into this high of an endgame to test this.
But hearing that the algorithm changes since then gives me hope. Even if it's not perfect, as long as it's slightly better I would be pretty happy already
Yea, I'm certain we've adjusted it since then. I couldn't tell you any specific changes off the top of my head at all though.
Question regarding vendor items. Will we be able to gift them using resonance? I’m new to LE (bought in Dec) My husband and I are playing together and are level 87 now. Love that we can gift items and have had quite a few drops that are really good for each other. Now most vendor items are pretty rubbish, but I had a perfect rare shield drop in the vendor for his Paladin build and couldn’t gift it, because it wasn’t a drop 😢 So wondering if this rare occurrence happens in 1.0 that there would be a way to give it to him?
Yes, resonances allow you to gift any equipment item. Basically, using a resonance on an item is as if it dropped while you were playing together.
The only thing you need to watch out for is whether the person recieving the item can actually use it (for example, it is possible to give an mg character a cof item, they just couldnt use it), but if its bought from a vendor I imagine thats not a problem
That makes me wonder though: Are items bought from vendors while in cof still untradable Mike? Or are those the exception?
I know the untradable exists because otherwise it would lead to a bad optimization pattern of playing "both sides" for cof players. But in the case of vendors, nothing is stopping you from swapping to MG before buying that perfectly rolled rare from the vendor, so it'd kind of make sense for those to not be untradable?

I doubt it, Mike hinted at the first pinnicale bosses coming soon in one of the next major patches.
But cycle and legacy being differentiated sounded like a more long term thing a few cycles down the road.
EHG has plans for pinnacle boss content. Didn't make it for 1.0 but will soon come after that ( so I guess 1.1 or 1.2 maybe)

Context: A number of features/skills seem highly disconnected from each other. Or better to say inconsistent. Channelled skills typically don't benefit from Speed, unless it's warpath. Melee skills in Sentinel routinely trigger spells (warpath + smite, warpath + abyssal echo, Erasing strike + void beam), but there's little to no support for a build that uses melee and spell damage together, resulting in the appearance of options, but the execution of them results in a non-viable build.
Question: Will we see with 1.0 a more consistent quality and execution of skill trees and passives across all the classes, like we have on Runemaster, it being the newest of the masteries, or will it take a while more before these types of "traps" are culled? Or are you okay with there being these kinds of skill nodes that maybe are not considered optimal/viable/meta but do provide fun/unique/interesting interactions even if they are not going to be used by players trying to push higher difficulty content?
Additional Question: are there skills that you know the community have misunderstood or overlooked because they at first appear to be non-viable and are just waiting for someone to figure it out?

The first "league" (aka Cycle) starts at 1.0. All current characters and items will be "standard" (aka Legacy) and you'll have the option to create either Legacy or Cycle characters.

Yes. Nothing carries over except your cosmetics from microtransactions. It's like your very first epoch character.

I know the untradable exists because otherwise it would lead to a bad optimization pattern of playing "both sides" for cof players. But in the case of vendors, nothing is stopping you from swapping to MG before buying that perfectly rolled rare from the vendor, so it'd kind of make sense for those to not be untradable?

I want to start working on some tools for Last Epoch. Charcter builder, theory crafting, etc. Does EHG offer an API to get data, or do you guys have a developer resource pack or something to that extent?
We are still developing our API. There is a preview version in use by a couple people right now but it's not quite publicly rolled out yet.
It also is fairly limited and probably won't have 90% of the data you're hoping for.

Already made a report in-game but calling it out here so it's seen quickly given the recent post - the new cosmetics with the game editions are not all functioning properly. Portals are invisible, armor has no image in the selector, and not all of it even shows when equipped.
Only the "golden guppy" is really released. The bug is that any of those other ones show at all, the rest are 1.0 things.

I'm not actually sure if the family sharing system works properly with Last Epoch at all. The game ties your steam account to a single specific last epoch account.

We don't have any ways in the game at the moment. It is possible that we might add some in the future for various things. Maybe completing some race or challenge mode. Could be something like a ladder rank reward or even just a twitch drop possibly. We haven't decided any details on the matter, I'm just giving examples of the sort of things I could see us considering for something like that.

Hey, are the current supporter packs exclusive/limited? Or will they show up in the store again?
They are going to be going away and they may or may not come back. We aren't saying that they are exclusive, never to return, or anything like that but I also can't guarantee that they will return either. We don't want to leave them up because it sets a precedent that people will expect all packs to stay up and we will very quickly get to a point where we have dozens of packs cluttering up the store.
We will continue to add more packs and it is possible that we might resurect old packs. Kinda like Disney sending a film "into the vault" if you're old enough to remember that.
So technically not exclusive but they might not show up in the store again either. Sorry I know this isn't really much help.

Yes, there are already packs that have gone away and won't come back. Our Kickstarter and alpha packs (from several years ago) are gone for good.

Improving network performance has been, and continues to be our top priority. As Mike mentioned earlier "Reduced Transition Load Times by 0.3 seconds" doesn't exactly make for a flashy line to promote, but we've been constantly making improvements to it, and will continue to do so.

At a technical level, yes, you do change server when you transition, however this isn't something you should typically see, only in game log files. These servers should also be at the same physical location. You should be staying in the same region unless something is happening with your ISP routing which is causing you to at times appear closer to one server location than another as the game does work to detect the closest servers to you. You can set a specific region in the Social Screen.

That sounds like ISP routing - we don't have servers in all those locations. There's one location for our EU West servers as far as I'm aware.

Quick question, and suddenly got worried, I played a couple of days ago, worked fine, now wanting to start the game and play a bit more, it said "You need steam now" (I already migrated logn time ago), and mindlesly re-migrated (friday-evening, sorry).... but that was only 10 mins ago... It may produce that error if it was unable to connect to the authentication servers. Make sure you've downloaded today's patch and try restarting the client.

They are tied to your Stash. So Hardcore Cycle will be separate progression from Hardcore Legacy, and Hardcore Cycle will be separate from Standard Cycle. Cycles allow for progression resets.
Just for clarity, in 1.0 the char options for SSF and SAF are changing slightly right? They currently both share stash exclusively within each other, but not across both.

Yeah. The options are Solo Account Found (SAF) and Solo Character Found (SCF). SAF chars all share a stash, while SCF chars each have their own stash and can't share at all.
Currently: SAF is an option in online and the default in offline. SCF is only an option in offline.
At 1.0 you'll be able to make SCF characters in online, too.

When you view the contents of the editions there should be a preview video for each item in Steam. There is not separate supporter packs from the Editions with 1.0.

Unrelated, you still get the exclusive benefits offered from the supporter pack you may have purchased. If you owned Last Epoch prior to 0.9 you'll have received a Traveler's Backpack cosmetic, and if you own Last Epoch before 1.0 you'll receive the Golden Guppy cosmetic - both regardless of what support packs you have / have not purchased.
I do see the specific content previews of what each contains in the store - I just meant would you showcase any upcoming supporter packs before they hit the store and before they replace existing ones? i.e. "Next week our 0.9 supporter packs will be replaced by these new ones coming with 1.0 [preview]."

There is currently not an option to upgrade from Deluxe to Ultimate edition. If you own the base game, there is an option to just purchase either the Deluxe or Ultimate upgrade below the full box versions.
Deluxe and Ultimate editions will continue to be available after 1.0. The only thing going away is the Golden Guppy.

I know this has been asked before, but I bought the game yesterday (2 copies for me and my friend) and we've been really enjoying everything EXCEPT the long loading when transitioning zones / teleporting to various points. The game is great, keep up the good work but I really expect that to be fixed in 1.0 as the hype is real for this game. ❤️

We don't have any WASD plans at the moment. It won't be available at 1.0. Having said that, you're right in that it is a hot topic right now so, it's a conversation we are going to internally open up again once we are comfortably through the 1.0 gauntlet.
IMO, when this comes up, sometimes people are asking about different things. It's probably helpful to both players and devs if we're always clear what we're getting at. Functionally different WASD movement meaning like strafe + backwards walking - or WASD as an alternate accessibility option meaning just 8 directions worth of what controller joystick can do right now.
They're entirely different realms, but I've seen enough of people ripping each other apart over this without establishing/realizing they're talking about two different features. 😅 But, obviously, I fully understand Mike's response that regardless, even the simpler one can't be on the table for 1.0 so soon.

Basically, that's kinda what the monolith just is. You're constantly increasing the risk to get better rewards. We are increasing both the risk and reward rate of corruption for launch.
I can explain how the monolith works if you need.
I just beat eye of storm so it's pretty early but I know that you get increase corruption later on to make it harder,
I know I shouldn't refer to other game much, in ah ||poe||, you have items that can make that map more harder but more rewarding in player's way, some want currency? use this items so most of the drop will be currency and if I'm not mistaken you can put in 4 items to juice your mapping experience up, something like that.

Nice, yea, corruption in 1.0 will scale difficulty faster and increase the rate that it scales difficulty faster too. It will also start to lightly influence your chance of getting LP on unique items that drop. It also allows the bosses to drop better boss specific drops. It also gives you more blessings to pick from each boss kill. Empowered is a big jump up in difficulty and that gives you significantly stronger blessings and more of all that above. You can then pump up the difficulty and reward by going out to the outside edge of the echo web.
If you're interested in some wacky big lootsplosions, check out the lightless arbor dungeon. Oh and don't forget to bring a lot of gold.
PoE isn't a bad word around here at all. We talk about it frequently. Lots of us play PoE too. I actually got to meet a few of them at Gamescomm in August and it was so crazy cool.
As far as a more literal version of PoE juicing, we don't have any specific plans right now. It's a style of mechanic that I think would eventually go quite well in a cycle.

So far the only way to get Epoch Points is via real money. We do like the idea of having some select ways to earn Epoch Points in the future if we can make that work nicely. It could be as you say some sort of in-game achievement or maybe for placing on the ladder or something.

We don't have an achievements system yet. We will add be adding one down the line. I don't know what the rewards will be.

Pets serve absolutely no functional purpose at all. They can't pick up gold or anything else at all.

We do plan to add more story chapters to the campaign. This won't be through expansions but rather just through our normal cyclical major patch releases. New classes are planned for the significant future. Expect to see us expanding end game content before adding more classes.

They aren't going away at 1.0. The only part of them that is going away at 1.0 is the golden guppy. But that's for all of the versions. I think they are planned to be a longer term thing and might get updated at some point.
I have no idea but that doesn't look right at all. It's almost like the standard edition isn't following the same localization pricing rules. If you could open a support ticket with your country we can probably figure out what's going on.
I upgraded to deluxe edition, is it normal for the upgrade to stay purchasable in game and on steam afterwards ? Didnt get the 50 points from the pack or anything.
After some relogs, says that I own the edition in-game.
The points and the guppy pet should show up almost right away. Reboot everything, check steam says you own it, check your purchase method to see if you got charged, check again in game after the full system reboot.

Hello devs, new player very much enjoying your game - 20 hours or so so far. As of yet only a couple minor annoyances so thats amazing really so great job. First one is that it seems very easy to accidentally enter the next zone or go back into the one I just came from which can be pretty annoying, hitbox just seems very large and not obvious enough where it ends. No question there just thought I'd mention it.
My second annoyance does beg a question: Why don't shards just go directly into my forge? Seems very tedious to keep having to click the transfer crafting items button when I cant find any other thing I would be doing with them. I even looked around online and see its a big confusion for new people trying to craft not knowing they even needed to do it. I can shrug off a lot of annoyances(played Starfield for 2k+ hours if that says anything) - but tedious for the sake of tedious is definitely a peeve of mine.
So thats my question, is there a good reason that crafting shards don't just go into my forge on their own?

That's right, they are linked. That stability bar is a good indicator of how much the chest will be affected too.

Not without spending favor. Player to player incurs the exact same costs. And while some people made the argument "what if you just take somebody along to farm resonance to bypass that" well... that's layers of RNG and time, that isn't gonna be efficient in any manner.

No, the devs have mentioned multiple times that they don't want accurate DPS meters. Best you can do is hit the dummies by the arena and look at the damage numbers.

Not so much as ask dev, but more of a beg. PLEASEEEEE dont underestimate how successful this game will be. Literally the only thing that can ruin the launch (as the game is amazing as millions of people are about to see) is a terrible server state at launch. And it still happens so often with hugely popular launches even though everyone can see how successful a game release will be.

Well... a little. You're not really expected to teleport in and out of campaign areas much.
Yeah you're almost never meant to interrupt a map.
If your teleporting in/out of zones, you're probably looting too much rubbish. Use a filter/leave crap on the floor. Its not worth selling items to vendors.

Right on. Another question - Shurikens -> Blade Shield seems excessively great at generating bleed/poison stacks with the pierce perk. Is that intentional, or is something screwy with an interaction? Loving it, just don't wanna solidify a build around it if it's unintentional/likely to get patched

It's not, the shurikens can only each target once to avoid Blade Shield being far & away the best way to stack DoTs. This is also one of the reasons why the shurikens with Blade Shield don't stack.
But if you're in a pack of mobs, yeah, you'll apply a lot of stacks of DoTs.
question Im noticing with Mutilate on Rogue Puncture i only ever have 1 stack of bleed on every hit. I should be applying at minimum 3 a hit. Mutilate seems to be broken ? I looked a search and found this report from October but no response

Because this game is buy to play with a cash shop, can you at least promise us that there will A. Good looking items in the base game, and you will not just reserve the coolest looking items to the shop?
We work really hard to make sure that all the visuals, mtx or not is up to the same quality standard. We are adding more non-mtx visuals to the game constantly. The visuals from found items are generally less over the top and flashy. I think that there are tons of really cool looking items in the base game already. It's hard to rank all of them in coolness objectively but the MTX cosmetics generally have a slightly higher flashy factor. Like there is no cape slot in game. You can get capes from the mtx shop or just watching some twitch streams. I don't really know how else to put it. We will continue to add both mtx and non-mtx visuals to the game. My personal favorite visuals are all still non-mtx.
I think maybe a better way to put that question is, did you ever come to a yes or no stance on adding Unique 3D models to armor in the game? I remember a while ago I believe it was said you were unsure if it was something that was going to be done.

I'm not sure what the order of them is. I know we are still doing the weapons first as they have a way better bang to buck ratio on how much they impact the cool factor to how long they take to make. There are some helmets that are done and in the game already too. I don't want to give an expectation of timeline that the people who are actually doing it might not be able to keep to because I just don't know how long it takes them. I think unique helmets will probably start to come before the body armors do. We want to have all the unique gear 3D art being a 1:1 with the 2D art. So far we've put a bigger priority on just adding more mechanically unique gear to advance the gameplay. That's given us some kinda negative progress on this effort because we can slap a few lines of text down so much easier than the modelers and texture artists can make gear.

Hey there, how long will items in the "All cosmetic store" be available to purchase and will they be gone forever once removed? I'm specifically talking about the "Woodland Cloak".
Any of them could potentially be removed for one reason or another so I don't want to say they will be there forever. We don't have plans to remove them. The woodland cloak doesn't have any plans to be removed.

You can get a resonance with friend by playing with them.
It seems to be that you accumulate a percentage of a resonance for each moment you play with a friend. After some period of time, you get to 100% of a resonance and it drops.
Each one is a single use item that drops specifically for that one person. That item can't be traded or transferred in any way.
It's possible that people can attempt to RMT by partying to get one. It's going to be very inefficient and painfully obvious.

we have 2 types of Resonance items 1) for legendaries / exalted 2) for the rest. What if we have a really bad luck streak and drop only type 2 while I want to gift a good exalted belt? Like I could have 10 of type 2 and 0 of type 1. Is that possible? If yes could you implement a way to exchange one type for another in like 1 : 5 ratio?
It is random and there is no pity or conversion system. If we hear feedback from our players (after they have played with it) that it's needed then we will consider it.

yes, think of it like the resonance adds that person to the list of people that were there when the item dropped.
(not literally how it works but you can think of it that way)

they are items that drop just like normal
you will have many more keys
"stash locked" so if you find one on a SC cycle character, you'll use it for cycle SC items.
resonances are there to fill in the gaps for those few really special items that you find for your friends who you play frequently with
most of the items you'll want to gift will just be giftable because you're playing together most of the time

I don't know. I think it will depend on several factors and we probably don't have a hard and fast rule set out. Abuse of the systems can result in action being taken.

will there be any skill balance changes in 1.0? Like Aura of Decay (Lich) is not in a good shape atm. You can't build around it deals very low damage.
well, I'm in the home stretch for my own primary workload of actual coding a bug fixing. (trying to make multiple curses look good above a target's head at the same time right now). It's going to be a big relief to hear the term "hard locked" and then just get to testing for a while.
Just by the very nature of adding a new mastery class, that creates a ton of new skill balance changes right? All the new uniques and not to mention the item factions. All of this just naturally shakes up the balance quite a bit. We are also doing our usual balance changes that have been in every major patch release.
Can't wait for the uniques, that's the most exciting part for me personally, I feel like your guys unique designs have only been getting better with time.
yes but imo LE needs more 'graal items' like HH or Mageblood belt in PoE. That is very hard to get but almost all players want. SOme kind of a carrot for every build
That's always a tricky one. Whenever add one, we get so much overwhelming feedback that they are too rare and too strong.

an item that would give more QoL than pure defence / offence could be a good solution. Like a belt giving you possibility to auto cast health potions on a percent of life missing would be great with Grimoire of Necrotic Elixirs.

what's your opinion on sentinel right now? especially the build that rely on melee range like Rive.
From my experience so far, this build need to go in melee range and have to standstill while using Rive and 2h weapons. After watching some of mage gameplay and builds, they have almost same amount of hp and resistance while mage also have highly amount of ward.
I really enjoy it. I'm playing a shield throw manifest armor build right now that's not particularly strong but having a ton of fun with it. I haven't playing a rive build recently but generally you'll want to have something that hits a little harder to deal more damage unless you've cranked rive up with the mana cost nodes. I personally prefer to keep it as a generator though.

Hi Mike, I was wondering how come you guys don't have entropy systems when it comes to things like Dodge and other combat mechanics?
I'm guessing it's because you guys want consistent and none-consistent mechanics but it does also de-value things like Dodge as a defensive mechanic, since you can still get hit 5 times in a row even with 80% Dodge and die very quickly if you get unlucky, but obviously it's something you can take into consideration when balancing how easy it is to get the stat.
What's the philosophy you guys have around it?
I'm like 99% sure that we used to have this but I just had someone gut check me and they had no idea what I was talking about. We do have items that do this so it's more of an opt in system.
Mike, do you mind expanding on your earlier comment where you said that "item factions might shake up the [skill] balance quite a bit"? Do you or EHG in general believe that balancing builds by the economic cost or rarity of their build-enabling items is a viable approach? This reads a lot like how Richard Garfield instead of addressing the fact that Ancestral Recall was exceptionally overpowered just slapped a higher rarity on it.

i do think there’s a key difference between magic and an arpg which is that i buy magic cards with a resource that’s completely unrelated to the game of magic (usd) but i buy arpg equipment with a resource that is acquired by playing the game and which has no value outside of the game (gold)

While we don't plan to look at price on the bazaar to balance numbers, we do look at rarity even now. But probably not how you are expecting. We more look to make sure that build enabling uniques aren't too extremely rare that you can't get a build going without it and are forced to do a transition build. That can still be optimal in some cases but we don't want it to be the norm.
I do however think that the bazaar might have a direct impact on builds and the relative balance by making specific niche items way easier to get and experiement with. I suspect that this could lead to new builds being discovered. This could mean new playstyles that are very close to being good but just not quite and if they are fun, we might buff things or make a new unique or something to help enable the playstyle. If it's less positive for the game, it could result in some nerfs or just being left alone if it's not format warping.
Lastly, the item factions are also bringing new item base types with new implicits which will directly add new options to the item pool. These I think are the most likely place to have a direct impact on balancing of skills.
So all this together is why I worded it like that, "might shake up the balance". I'm not really sure how big of an impact any of these things will have but together them might be significant.
Sometime in the future, we would like to add character customization to the character creation process. We don't know when that will be other than not at 1.0. While I don't have any specifics of what that will look like, I know we have discussed using less rigid definitions of gender in a system like that and would probably look more to terms like "body shape" than gender for the larger changes.
Currently the characters which we have available are specific characters. It's The Primalist, not A Primalist. I think the biggest way we could improve that feeling right now would be to give them specific names. We think that naming your character is a pretty key piece of an ARPG though so we are sticking with how it is for now.

how close will the offline and online versions of the game be in 1.0? It feels like there have been major and minor differences between the two versions over the course of 0.9 (stuff like extra monolith loading screens in offline, temporal sacntum breaking for a month, warp tunnel animations still showing up when you time travel in the story)
Not a ton has changed there. Hopefully obviously the bugs are being worked on. Online does behave more like offline with regards to enemy phasing now though.
I'm kind of new here, so apologies if these questions have been asked before.
- What's the philosophy behind shards taking up inventory space when picked up? There's a dedicated button for sending them into the Forge, but no way (that I've seen) to extract them.
- Are you expecting shards to be traded?
- If so, then why are shards from shattered items automatically sent to the Forge?
- Why does the Forge have a dedicated interactable in town, if it's a menu immediately available via the F key?

We were attempting to have crafting materials act as items first. This was largely unpopular. Shards are strictly prohibited from being traded (same with all other crafting materials). It's in town for tutorialization purposes. Even with the quest telling you about it, loading screen tips, the game guide and menu options, people still missed it. It also helps the town feel more like a town. It is unnecessary for seasoned players though.

there should really be a disclaimer telling you that the cosmetics dosnt work on offline character because ima be honnest i feel kinda scammed i spent 30£ and not gona be able to use it without having to replay atleast 15 hours.
How will stashes migrate to legacy after the end of the cycle?
Is there some kind of weighting where the game prefers to drop good loot for alt characters and not the one I'm playing? I ask because I just finished the campaign as a Sorc Mage, in early hours I dropped 1 wand that was good for me. Ever since then almost every good unique and literally every single set item that dropped for me has been for minions. A few spriggan uniques but actually 0 things I can use on my mage since that first wand. I've been working my way through the monoliths now and experiencing the same thing. Minion minion minion, its honestly getting a bit frustrating at this point - is this a possible bug?

No. Uniques and sets are not weighted based on your class at all. Most other item types are weighted to drop for your current class.
I'm not playing minion necro and its like 75% of my loot, must be a bug?
i have a page and a half of minion uniques and set items, and im wearing nothing but rares on mage :P)
If you feel like it's a bug, report it. I think there may just be a lot of low level minion uniques.

also you shouldnt focus on uniques at all in this game, some are good but 70%-80% of your items will be exalteds, unless you play specific builds, what you are experiencing is just a lot of trash minion low lvl uniques dropping because they are common

im getting way more minion rares then anythign i can use on mage too but its easier to notice that ive gotten 0 mage uniques or set stuff and all minion so i mentioned that.

i never even had that issue cause i have loot fliter, i get some minion items here and there but they are realy rare

I think that it is possible that there might be some confirmation bias leaking into the data you're considering after the fact. Minion items stand out as very clearly "not for me" when you're not playing a minion build and that can make them feel like they are a waste and stick out as really bad. Now, given that we don't have smart loot for uniques, it is entirely possible that you're just getting that unlucky dice roll and are seeing a significantly disproportionate amount of minion gear. We do work to provide ways for you to influence your loot that you receive as you get deeper into the end game so you can more consistently find relevant gear upgrades.
I've seen this feedback a few times and most of the time when we record the data, it paints an easier to digest picture. When you get an item that maybe has 3 moderately useful stats on it but 1 that just doesn't really fit at all (but doesn't say minion), it's easy to look at that item and go "well it's almost for me" and not feel too bad about it. Then when that same item has minion stats on it, the feeling can shift to "what a useless drop, it's so frustrating to always get this minion gear". They feel very different, when in reality they are both equally as useless for you. Then at the same time, those minion pieces might have direct casting stats on them that make them also useless to minion players. So suddenly those "minion items" are now just bad items for everyone. It's really quite had to separate out these feelings. I think that if you were to take the time to map out all the drops on both a caster and a minion character, you'd find that you were getting very similar amounts of useful gear upgrades over time.
We are really big fans of the "oh cool, I can use that if I start a _____" effect that fully random uniques have. Also, with the introduction of the bazaar, if we had too smart loot, if certain smart class items became the clearly most profitable items, it would warp the meta because people would start playing that class just to get those items more often. So it's very unlikely that we will do away with it all together.
Also just sample size, if you're pre-empowered, the sample size is still pretty small.

I don't know, I can pass it along as a suggestion. The standard use case previously has been from in game directly and the shop doesn't show up in offline mode so it hasn't been a big problem until these new packs I think.

Hi mike, I have some questions about cosmetic in offline mode,
I understand that cosmetics can't be used in offline mode so here my questions
- Can the cosmetic in ultimate edition use in offline mode? it has the data in steam store after all.
- What if you have to connect to server to wear the cosmetic first, then when you go full offline, you can just keep using it but if you unequip and want to equip again, you have to connect to server. How that sound?

There is not something that you're looking for all in one place. I do the Friday dev streams and one in November (I think, maybe October) I had the lore master (Kyle) on and he answered a bunch of lore questions. I'm planning on doing another one with him relatively soon.
You can't access the cosmetics system at all from offline mode. This is how 1.0 will launch and there is no room for changing this right now. In order to change this for 1.0 the decision would have needed to be made a month ago at the very least.
We are still open to feedback on the system and will consider that feedback for the future.
This question may come off a certain way (if so, I apologize cuz yall are awesome and I love the game) but are there plans to diversify the mob make-ups? Particularly in arenas, it's odd seeing 5-8 of the same mob animating nearly identical to one another as they charge at you. It's exacerbated when you see 4 packs of 5-8 identical monster packs, charging in from 4 different directions.

EHG_Foton runs our creator partner program. To get the role you basically just ask for it and show that you do create content at least a bit. We do also have another creator discord that you can optionally get involved with which I don't really do much in myself so I'm not sure all the details.
The shoutout system here is automatic and all you need to do is initially go life with Last Epoch as the game. It doesn't detect switches. No role required.
