Hi Mike, if I am wearing a serpent s milk and convert my vines to cold do they inflict 90%less frostbite ? Since the node that convert to cold says "effect related to poison now depend on frostbite instead"
Pretty sure the answer is no because it isn't an effect depending on poison, it's just a damage modifier
Also because that's like the only use case for that amulet that anybody has actually used and I've never seen anyone report their damage being lessened by it
why does swipe have an added cold damage to chilled node and the unique gloves for swipe give cold damage if swipe cant do cold damage? And then the whole Kermodes cage giving cold melee for werebear when the only skill it could affect is Upheaval cast by maul. its like somewhere there was an intent for swipe to be able to have a converted to cold damage that got taken out or was never put in.

TL:DR - More increased rarity = better items.
Sorry about that, I did some digging and I think I've found the answer. I have to confirm this with someone who will be offline for a couple of days but I'm pretty sure about this.
Given an arbitrarily high increased item rarity, all random dropped items would eventually converge to be set items.
I did the math with 5x10^40 increased item rarity and I didn't get anywhere remotely close to pure set items. You'd be at about 4% set and 20% unique. This happens because we use log(increasedItemRarity + 1) in the formula. (5x10^40 is a 5 followed by 40 0's in case the notation isn't familiar for anyone)
So yes, technically every unique item is a failed set item and so on down the list.
Now, I can see this causing some commotion about an optimal increased item rarity point below what you can handle. This is not an optimal line of thinking that will result in less unique/exalted items overall. While you are below 50% chance to find a set item, the rate that increased rarity increases the chance of finding a unique item is more. So unless you get you increased rarity up above a few trillion trillion trillions, you're better to just keep increasing it.
This also doesn't account for the blessings that force extra unique/set items to drop. They are however separate chances so they don't need to be taken into account.
TL:DR - More increased rarity = better items.

There are several "dupes" that don't persist through a relog. If you are still able to use both items after a relog, please contact #support directly.

should do, you can test this pretty easily though. Just equip some item that the only relevant stat is poison penetration and time how long it takes it kill yourself with AoD. Then compare without the item. (bigger swings in penetration to get more easily understood results)

I have a question about the Suckerpunch Arrow node on the Detonating Arrow tree. The way it's worded, it sounds like when I hit an enemy that already has an arrow stuck in it, I don't add a new arrow but the original arrow gets its damage and area doubled. Consequently, it would sound like this stacks multiplicatively, giving me 8-fold damage and area if I manage to hit the enemy 3 additional times before the first arrow explodes. Is that correct?
does pillars of heorot on the thorns totem tree turn the poison explosion node to cold?
I'm sure we will add more conversions to the game over time. We do very intentionally not have certain conversions. Each class and mastery has specific elements that we lean into on that class. Sentinel for example focuses on Physical and Fire with VK bringing void to the mix and Paladin having some Lightning influence. Cold abilities are few and far between for the Sentinel.

I'm sorry, I can't be certain how it's actually worded. Sometimes it says things like "this also converts this other thing". Or "this applies to triggered abilities in this tree" or something. I need to see the exact wording.
However, usually with conversions, if it doesn't say it does, it doesn't.

If it were possible to make multiple arrows stick in a single target without them detonating, yes that would be the case. However, when that second arrow hits, the attached arrow immediately explodes.

ok, I checked, it isn't self multiplicative so if you hit it with 3 arrows, it does 300% more damage.

You can also skip pretty big sections of the campaign with the dungeons or by getting someone to portal you to another point.

increased physical damage will increase all physical damage. Any damage that is lightning damage will not be increased by increased physical damage.

For future reference, if you relog once, you can still access the player.log from your previous session. The game keeps two logs: player.log and player_prev.log, the second one being the log from your previous session.
If you're worried about overwriting a log with a new session, you can also make a copy of the file outside of the folder it's currently in (for example copy it to your desktop), and use that copy when asked for it 🙂

I've found at least 2 instances, and I think a 3rd.
- One of the Mono maps with a blue "whirlpool" that alternates between 2 areas.
- The final dragon boss from Reign of Dragons puts blood pools down that ignore ward.
- I THINK one of the Obryress types does the same as the Dragon from Reign of Dragons. I died while having a lot of ward. But that could have been from invisible projectiles too.
Does this mean you'd like official bug reports for cases where damage "through" wards happens? I've seen a few instances as well, although I don't recall the details.

I don't know whether you will be at liberty to discuss this in depth, but what current/planned tools are in place for managing malicious actors in the case of when trading arrives? So the big two being scamming and bug exploiters. For example, Warframe has temporary automatic trade bans when they detect "strange" behaviour and have a somewhat version control for reverting player inventories.

No worries. The reason I bring it up, is it's happened so often with player driven economies, where players' trust can be very sensitive to some amount of malicious actors ruining the economy either temporarily or permanently. I was just curious to see what discussions and plans are in place for it, as usually it's often an inevitability that things will go wrong, it's a question of how the developers respond and what plans are in place.
I also don't discount how difficult it is to implement countermeasures in the future, especially with this sudden amount of eye balls on your game and mattering how much current versions have had these philosophies in mind. Technical debt can be less than fun :p
we agree that the bleed is the numbers in white when we proc a damage, how come it increases my crit' in yellow??

if I remove the poison and the bleed (nod and stuff) I am converted at 100%, if I put an "increased physical damage" ring the damage of the tooltip of my skill (shuriken) increases...

there are 9 general shapes I think (split on theme). When you make a new one, you pick a hue and rotation on a decimal slider that makes it so that you almost never end up with the same once twice.
Hello Mike, I'm curious about EHG's philosophy regarding implicit mods on weapons, specifically regarding the distinction between 1H and 2H weapons. I've noticed that 1H weapons tend to get global implicits (e.g. global flat crit chance on most daggers/eagle wing, global crit multi on katanas) whereas 2H weapons tend to get implicits restricted to melee only (flat crit on spears is melee-only, for example). It feels a little counterintuitive, since equipping a 2H weapon is more restrictive, plus the potential power of stacking these global bonuses with dual-wielding. Of course, this is just a small part of the relative balancing between 1H and 2H weapons--what are your thoughts on this?

Based on the TL;DR I am assuming this is true, but just want to ask to verify since this focused on uniques and sets - does this also mean exalted item drop rate is continually increased despite them being "failed" uniques and sets? our original intention was to have 1 person pay and have them get the full loot and have everyone else get a reduced version of the same for free. This was a compromise because we couldn't get everyone to pay for their own (which would have been ideal).

Marvel Heroes 2015. Farming Cosmic Industry City Patrol with Hawkeye for around 10 minutes. This is a continuation from the previous video. Albeit, a continuation the next day. I opened all the Reliquaries and Chests. Looted a Physical Signet. Not bad. I'll see to see who this signet is an upgrade for later.

that being said, something that increases the skill damage in the skill tree will increase the stacks of the ailment it applies, this may be a bug, but it does, ive had 7 stacks of ignite from judgement dealing 40k damage

the cooldown effects the swipe skill, not the modification from the gloves
the swipe gloves cannot be on your skillbar

I missed the boat on Marvel Heroes unfortunately. We don't have any plans for combat zones with more than 4 people total.
They scale with all relevant stats. So ignite scales with increased fire damage.

Hi Mike I need some clarifications with this node. 2 questions. I assume this node's scaling works like crit strike chance with serpent strike, (base + increases) not just flat crit chance right? And If I go over 100% crit chance will it still give more damage?
Whatever your total uncapped chance to achieve a critical strike with your basic melee attack with no active buffs.

Maybe. We don't have it fixed yet. It is a very high priority fix.

Probably not. It's tricky because suddenly certain classes have massive traversal advantages if we do that. It's a little frustrating to logically be able to do it but actually not.
Will there ever be a TCP/IP connect option? I admire the hosting for bug fixes and stuff but it just doesn't cut it. Playing with 3 other friends is a rubber band fest every zone.

It's something we might consider if it's a highly requested feature down the road. It requires us to basically make a 3rd mode so we really don't want to have an extra version to maintain.

Sigils requires itself to be on the bar to exist. There was some sort of problem with them before we added that. I can't remember exactly what it was because that was several years ago.

You've given hilariously specific context, and I love it. so in practical terms, would a player ever be concerned that too much rarity would cause Exalted Items to drop as Unique Items instead? no, there is no world where you would ever even remotely consider pulling back on your increased rarity. Even at 5x10^20, it still makes sense to keep going up.
the point that you would consider slowing down is where the combined chance for set/unique exceeds 75% I think.

They have the exact same roll ranges at all tiers.
They are each as restrictive as the other. Spell damage doesn't apply to ailments so Damned, Necrotic Bone Curse, Possess and Spirit Plague aren't affected by increased spell damage but they are affected by increased necrotic damage. Necrotic Damage doesn't apply to spells so like Reap doesn't get bonuses to spell damage for example.
It's a little confusing because Poison is an ailment and a damage type. I'm assuming you mean the ailment.
Poison deals 28 base damage.
It gains damage buffs from increases to poison damage, dot damage, poison penetration and damage.
Poison will deal more damage to enemies affected by poison res shred.
The first 30 stacks of poison also each reduce the target's poison resistance by 5%.

It gains damage buffs from increases (and mores) to poison damage, dot damage, poison penetration and damage.
It doesn't deal melee, throwing, spell, bow, fire, lightning, cold, necrotic, void or physical damage. So if the stat has those things, it doesn't apply.
If the node is conditional on a target's status, it doesn't apply either. So for example, "more damage if the target is ignited" or "more damage if the target is at low life" will not apply.

if by efficient you mean that if they were both on the same item, same tier and same roll, would the spell crit be a higher number, then yes.

It's specifically spell crit chance, generic will work here, as it crit chance regardless of damage type.

It doesn't matter whether skill is channelling or not - if it says "trigger X when casting Y skill", it means that when you cast skill Y (once), you trigger effect X (once). Channelling is basically prolonging the duration of the skill, you cast it only once.

hey i have a question, my shurks are passived to spin around me, i dont "throw" them anymore, does this still work. Like can i press the skill and then use my bow for the effect?

but i also have the idol that turns my shurks into lightning so it should count as a lightning throw attack??
We don't have a set date or content list for hotfixes but I do know Mike is working on the Stash bug issue personally so as soon as it's ready and passed QA it'll be in a hotfix 🙂
This does add the lightning tag to them. And they should still count as a throwing attack, you just changed what they do, they're still being thrown technically.

Working on a swarmblade build, and am using the Vipers Call node that makes Serpent Strikes tree apply to Armblade Slash, which I took the bleed -> cold conversion node in.
Will taking armblade bleed chance here have that bleed get converted to cold? Or does that cold conversion in the serpent strike tree not care about the swarmblade tree at all and only its own tree + gear + passives?

Yes, they have a warning when you first enter them that they are a 1 try per key endeavor.
because it's an equipable ability, it behaves more like you are directly casting it.

Acolyte in general has necrotic damage so Warlock will at least incidentally have some. That's already known info based on what is in game though. You'll have to wait until the previews for the missing classes to see what they can do.

Speaking on classes, what is the mindset of creating LE with a more traditional class system, like Diablo, instead of a Build-Your-Own class system like PoE or a combo system like Grim Dawn?
We have a lot of class archetypes and didn't want to overwhelm players with too granular of an option right out of the gate but still want to have lots of class options. I think it's its own beast really because you have unique passives and skills like in Diablo but you do get some combinatorial elements like GD/PoE.
LE is a strongly classed system. The VK has access to a very specific set of skills. The Necro has access to a different very specific set of skills. There is some overlap class to class but every Sorc has access to the same skills as every other Sorc.

We can't moderate other languages so we are unable to host alternate language channels. I know that there are some community discord groups for some other languages. You might be able to find a French one.
Summon vines doesn't scale with minion damage, right? I wanted to use Eterra's step boots as a Necro but doesn't seem worth it if it doesn't scale. But the vines are effected by haste aura like the other minions as a Necro
If you check the ability tooltip (hold alt when hovering on the item) it will show you the tags with which it scales. Summon Vines is a minion and does scale with minion damage.
I would really love to be able to play dungeons.. i got a terrible bug and it simply doesnt spawn the portals to enter temporal sanctum or lightless harbor

does this game snapshot damage? for example, if i have the "youre affected by dread shade" node. cast dread shade, bone curse a target while in range, then step out of range of the shade. does my curse's damage go down, or stay the same?

I don't have any information about bugs. The next time the game updates it will be to fix a critical problem regarding vanishing items from stashes (they aren't actually gone though).
Is there any node in any skill that convert poison chance (from all sources, not just the tree) into other ailment?
I found "gravechill" in reaper form, but converting so much poison chance into chill is not really big, since chill have a cap of 3
does Sentinel's "Faithful" huge idol affix trigger while channeling a 0-cost Warpath? or does it only trigger on skill activation?
warpath can't have no cost, it's a minimum 1 cost to activate it, so the idols shouldn't work

it won't regen mana at 2x speed though

Hi, I have a question about the "+X% Chance to cast Smite on hit with throwing attacks" idol affix. I already specialized the Smite skill. Do I also need to put Smite on my skill bar as well in order to trigger the effects from Smite skill nodes like Righteous Flurry when throwing Javelins?
Smite works as a triggered ability even off your bar.
Thanks! I just tested in game. It works without need to put the Smite skill in the bar. However, there's no buff icon for the effects. So I was unsure at first. Now I can use 6 skills 😄

Would it break anything if mana-returning effects like Sapping Strikes or Mana Strike scaled with +%manaRegen? These seem to fall off increasingly hard the bigger the mana pools are.
Which buffs does the node Transquil Spirit, In the Eterra's Blessing tree, remove. Long story short, Im messing around with negative mana, and using skills with 0 cost(aside from the spenders). However, for Eterra's Blessing, its hard to determine which nodes for work and which do not. The things that works: Purge, Ancestral Renewal, and Overgrowth. Things that I hope works but cant tell: Efflorescence, Regrowth, Binding Heal, Triage, Embolden. The rest for the most part seems to contain some form of duration( or are uninteresting for my build), so I asume those wont work. To take an example of the confusion tho, Embolden, doesnt seem to activate, but maybeXD. A clarification would be nice. P.S. plz dont kill all the nodes, this negative mana approach is very fun and build enabling.

Couchbot is automated. As long as you start the stream with last Epoch listed as the game from the start, it should pick it up.

When it hits something at fill health, it deals more damage. It is multiplicative. Each meteor has the damage to full health buff. It only deals more damage to full health enemies though so if one meteor hits, the follow up meteors aren't hitting a full health enemy any more.
meaning that if I can cast 6 meteors per cast, only the first meteor can benefit from the full health multiplicative?
Well they all have it but only the ones that hit full health targets benefit.

the self cast buff isn't granted by the totem but is something you get when you cast it. These will work together.

Hey Mike! I'm not that knowledgeable about the game yet i found some irregular behaviour and wanted to ask you before submitting a bug report: Do mobs stun you on low health? im talking about the regular no modifier mobs (wolf/axe throwing random citizen etc.)
Stun chance is based off of damage relative to max health, not current health.
i see. so technically you could have 4k ward but if your max hp is lacking you could still get stunned?

Hi devs. I was wondering if you had plans to rework the AI regarding minions, especially when you only use a single minion. In such a case the minion tends to react poorly regarding threats to the player. Also he always stay behind the player which is a design issue defense-wise.
Also do you plan to rework the aggro? Currently pulling a monster pack results in many others focusing the player even if they are outside of the player screen space. This is also a big issue for minion builds that doesn't use many minions.

You have a command button. Press A to send them to move or attack the target. This is super useful for keeping your minions alive from boss slams.
Well, all the AI for enemies and minions are the same so reworking that entire system would be a massive undertaking. Making minions more aggressive is totally possible but reworking the whole AI system is just not something we have time for pre-1.0.
How does the ballista skill node "shared enhancements" work? So if I have 100% physical damage bonus my ballista will get 45%. How about crit or penetration bonuses
Yes, i know. That being said they doesn't always go where you ask them to move to. And often they change their course mid way.

im curious on devs pov on Dot(ailment) and leech mechanics, right now a lot of dot builds are basically forced to use certain uniques to get leech going. Is it intentional design? For example melee dot builds are already at disadvantage to crit melee cause they cant stun enemies and they take longer to die and on top of that you are sacrificing an item slot

We didn't sit down and say anything like 'ok, what are going to be the few mandatory dot items'. I think any item that has a major impact on how you can play the game is fantastic. As the game evolves and more items, skills, content etc are added, things will naturally shift around.
I think it can be difficult to strike the right balance because if you wanted to play a melee marksman pre-0.9, it wasn't really a thing. Now you can because of a unique item that enables it. Now, is that a cool playstyle that is enabled by an item or is that being forced to sacrifice an item slot to be able to play that build?
We try to strike an overall power balance between different playstyles so people can pick how they want to play and not be worried that they are left in the dust because of that choice (within reason). Is it bad that certain playstyles work well into endgame but require specific items to conquer very pushed content? I don't think so.
sorry for typing as a discussion here but also. Even if you're "forced" to take a unique i feel like it's fine since you can just farm it out and make it a legendary and then instead of sacrificing a slot it's more like you have 2 items in that one slot which i love.
if you need to unique to make a skill work then i'd say it's bad
but if the unique enables a new build option then it's good

Devouring Orb nodes that modify void rifts do not specify that they only work for Devouring Orb void rifts
Will Devouring Orb nodes that modify void rifts also apply to all void rifts? Like void rifts spawned by Volatile Reversal and void rifts generated from other sources? (such as Void Aegis passive, items, idols)
They each only affect their own trees

to get stolen lance you need to finish fall of the outcasts again and choose the first option
after the abomination boss
and then finish stolenlance to get blood frost and death
you can do it on normal or empowered

Has an in-game LFG system ever been considered/discussed at all?
Patch 0.9 was a big change for melee skills, because of the Melee Adaptive Damage change. Finally, melee characters could have ALL of their damage pointing in the right direction -- not just half of their flat damage scaling in their desired way.
Is there rationale that some Melee Skills don't have Conversion Tags available? Rive, for example, has a bunch of new exciting nodes for Void Knights + Echoes... But because there is no tag, you're still stuck scaling both Phys Damage and Void Damage. Is this intentional for some thematic reason, or is it just an oversight that I'm sad about?
What's the general feeling surrounding its implementation. I'm guessing it would be relatively low on the priority list to develop/iterate/release anytime in the near future?
I think it's just an oversight that we can be sad about together. It will take a bit to get all these sorted out I think.
If someone were to hypothetically pick out the worst offenders and put them in one place in say a forum post maybe...who knows what that might do.....
I don't know what the timeline is on it. Don't quote me on this but I would be surprised if it didn't make it in for 1.0 at the latest.

increased crit chance isnt base crit chance...if you get per say 100% increased crit chance and your base crit chance is 5% your new chance to crit would be 10% not 105%, hope that helps if i understand your question correctly

the ones that increase base crit chance usually have a + in front
it will be stated if it does i am pretty sure, and generally you can tell by the numbers if the tooltip doesnt help...like 120% is just an increase of the base, but if you invest 5 points and it gives you 5% its probably base :D, base crit for skills is usually inside their skill tree while the only affix that i can think of that adds base crot chance is for melee attacks

if you have a phys skill and you have items that give +flat cold damage, does your attribute scaling for that skill also scale the flat cold damage?
Depends on what the attribute scaling says. The vast majority of them say "% increased damage", which is generic so will apply to all damage dealt by the skill.

A bug that has happened several times that almost killed my hardcore lich. After getting hit and transformed back into a human you're stuck and can't move. I wasn't stunned, one of the times this happened I didn't know how to get unstuck and had to relog after like a minute of not being able to move.

is lightning resistance shred the same as shock or are they independant? like can i put 10 stacks of shock and 10 stacks of lightning shred on an enemy for 100% reduced lightning resistance?
Does this point affect my Chakrams?
They are different ailments with independent stack counts/limits; same as poison vs. poison res shred.

No, if you convert it to void, it's not an elemental spell
so it would no longer scale off of necrotic damage % at all? ive seen comments saying something like oh only the small base damage is converted but all of the added damage is nectrotic so necrotic damage % is still good?

The majority of your "added damage" is all adaptive. It will become Fire.
I'm not sure how the arena is supposed to scale, I think it goes to the level of the person who opens it.

How does more damage and less damage stack say I have 30 less damage taken from aspect of the boar but 9% more from dual wielding, do I effectively take 21% less or is it multiplicative and I take 23.7% less damage.

What is the best way to make sure you have a server side save to prevent getting rolled back. The last time I got rolled back due to the bug I lost an orian's eye over it (the rarest item in the game). Generally that can be resolved by restarting your computer and running the steam Verify integrity of game files... option in Properties... when you right click on the game in Steam.
We don't have any plans regarding UI customization at the moment.
Well yes but actually no. They get the stat but for the purposes of checking equipment, they technically don't have any weapons wielded because minions can have items equipped. I know it seems like they do and Manifest Armor is a very special case but it isn't actually equipping an item. So they get the stat but because they aren't wielding a weapon, they don't get a benefit from it.
Dread shade - Lone Watcher modifier. Is it applicable to single minion or to all minions in area of dread shade?
I have some strange outcomes despite having almost the same trees in offline & online for dread shade - both of the trees have Lone Watcher allocated, but not Pernicious Pact - It doesnt drain minion health in online, but it drains minions health in offline. One of those behaviours obviously wrong...

What's your take on a system similar to Genshin's where a player can 'melt down' excess idols to make other differently-rolled idols of the same type (say, 3 to 1)? Idols in general are rather abundant, and stockpiling them doesn't really make any sense past certain point.
I remember when I asked some questions about manifest armor in regards to stuff like that ages ago, you mentioned there might be plans to change how that works for it, so that more stuff works with manifest armor (those affixes, titan hearts dr etc...), is that still something planned?

It's one of those things that I don't want to close the door on. There are just so many possibilities of things that we would love to be able to offer at some point but there is just no point in us even discussing right now because it's so far down the list. Even if we were sure that we wanted to do it, we wouldn't even consider starting it any time soon so there is no point in even talking about if we want it or not yet.
If you have a question about a specific node, please post a screenshot about the node so I can see which one you're talking about. I don't know exactly how they are each worded off the top of my head.

Question is about this node, @placid plinth - the behaviour is vastly different in online and offline - in online when I cast dread shade with this node allocated - it doesnt drain health of the other minions - while in offline, it still does

Seems of all by default, while the shade is attached to a single minion - it has an area where it affects all others

We believe that it's important for the feel of the game loop to have enemies fairly frequently drop items that you want to take an active action to pick up, but which you don't have to take time to inspect to work out whether it's good for you. However there are times where it feels bad at the moment, especially when it's just one shard, so we're planning to have them drop slightly less frequently and in larger groups on average. We're also planning to add more of a sink for shards you don't want, so that it feels less futile to have picked up a shard that you aren't planning to use and already have hundreds of.

Yea, see I know for sure that I'm not be clear enough now.
If you have 9999999% all res and are in a lvl 75+ zone, you effectively have 0% all res.
If you convert all your void damage taken to physical. Your physical res applies.
If that is 0% because you are in a high lvl zone, then you take all the damage at straight value.
ah ok so it's not the monsters doing the penetrating, its just that your res drops in that zone (but it cannot be seen)

just asking, because in poe, the shaper attacks penetrate your cold resist and kills you. but if you use 'cold damage taken as fire' you now only take its fire damage, and it won't kill you because its fire still only tries to penetrate your cold dmg

no, we are not planning on having a D3 style armory system. There is a respec cost in gold and xp that this type of system would completely bypass.
What is the intended purpose for Fireball homing + Fireball piercing + Embers (Fireball skill node, fireball can hit the same target)?
They appear to be able to aim into the same target a second time. But they don't actually hit.
It does NOT seem to be because of missing range. They clearly hit the taget, and i added 1 more points in range/speed to test that.
Also sometimes the projectiles lose them self in circling around the enemy and also not hitting them.
I have a recording of an area in Titan's Canyon that doesnt allow fireball to cast and meteor doesnt target the ground the target location is actually in the air, how would I submit this?

1 fireball can't hit the same target twice but multiple balls from the same cast can. If there is only 1 target, they will circle back because the homing is pretty strong but it checks very frequently for new targets so it isn't "locked on".

I just noticed that physical resistance cannot roll on the suffix for catalysts, whereas every other resistance can roll there. The suffix resistances can all roll on the other available items as expected. Is this an oversight that physical res cannot roll on catalysts perhaps, or something intended?
Well what is on your menu? I think making the game accessible to everyone should be top priority, accessibility features and simple stuff. Not sure what you guys are developing but current end game is same as grinding Greater Rifts in Diablo 3 🙂 also its understandable that this is beta, but surely you dont want to release a trash game with bad ui and horrible systems like blizzard did with Diablo IV am I right?

intended, catalysts feel more magical and physical resistance feels the least magical. It's just a subtle little nod towards that general theming.
Our main priorities at the moment are making the core game great for launch. A couple major features we are working on are the final 3 masteries (and the remaining missing skills) and monolith and dungeon improvements. There are dozens of other things in the pipe too. Hey Mike i fell in Love with the Spellblade, frist of all: never seen that vision executed so well before. I took a particular interest in making Lightnting Spellblade work. My char is 92 now and i love testing and building and it works okish. I can do around 150 corruption. It boiled down to one core issue tho that i dont really understand the reasoning behind and that is in these two Nodes of the Lighnting Blast Skilltree that specifically nerf Lightning Spellblade.
I see how these could cause Problems with Static but why is this also true for Surge and Battlemages Endeavour Procs. I would say if this nerf wasnt in place Lighnting Spellblade wouldnt even be super OP.

I'm not quite sure I understand the question. Just why did we make these not work when triggered? Lots of effects are direct cast only. It's generally just a balance thing.
Yeah I understand its balance I just dont see why Spellblade had to be made weaker than sorc in regards to LB. The distinction and lack of Spell (Damage/crit) and Melee seems sufficient at least in my eyes.
Spell/Melee also leads to a majority of procs from Spellblade Skills being spells to scale with spelldamage like Spark charge. Which leads to situations where e.g. enigma becomes much stronger with remote mana strike with a sorc build over a Spellblade build.
But i see how this is hard to answer.

It wasn't specifically to make spellblade weaker. This affects things like disintegrate and arcane ascendance too. Arcane Ascendance is for sure sorc and I know disintegrate was sorc at one time and I'm not sure if it still is.

hi dev, why not allow storm totem node fulgurite core to scale with the shock chance from stormtide boot as well? it's almost compulsory to wear ferebor set for max crit chance, thus storm totem build can't optimally get shock chance from weapon
it's not like storm totem is anywhere overpowered, in fact it's very underpowered when compared with crit thorn totem build
or if storm totem wants to be independent of the ferebor set, "press your advantage" node should be higher, like the case of "burning wounds" node in fireball, giving 25% more crit chance per point (max 4 points)

I'm not sure the nodes for crows all work as intended but I'm not positive. Basically, theres a node that changes them to ice. It says it changes all shock chance to chill or something like that, but I'm almost certain my birds are still applying shock. I wasn't sure if this was because I took the node that increases dmg per stack of shock on the target, but I would think that this would change to increased dmg per stack of chill/frostbite and that they wouldnt shock? Not sure just curious 😄

the 0.0012 needs to be 0.0015, the in-game formula is based on old variation.

Yes, pvp is a medium-low priority feature but we do intend to add it.
The Sentinel class has multiple passives that support different weapon types: Swords, Axes, Maces, Sceptres, Shields. But no passives that support spears, despite having skills that benefit from spears, such as lunge and javelin. Is this intentional, or something that might change?
It reflects a focus on other types of weapons more than an intentional desire to snuff spears.

any chance you are gonna nerf the lich and necro instead of just constantly nerfing other builds and making the end game content harder? Instead of making the game harder, to match the stupidity dps of the lich, you could just nerf the lich, so other classes aren't trash to play. Like the rogue marksman
the reason shaman and marksman classes aren't played is because you give them no love, while overpowing lich/necro, so how about you remove the OP of those classes, and give some rebalance love to "lower tiered" class and stop this god awful meta of garbage?

after ive sunk 120hrs in the last 2 weeks into rogue, and starting over puts me behind my buddy, makes multiplayer co op cancer
trust me, if poison builds can be nerfed, there's no safe zone in this game
rage doesn't matter to dev, but year the nerf to crit vulnerability is questionable, with nothing to compensate for it especially in marksman tree

Focus causes you to take less damage from chilled enemies. If focus isn't active, it can't do anything so it only applies while you are channeling.

As for 0.9.1 we are returning to our 0.8.x patch cadence.
I won't put a number to it because we don't have a set date yet ourselves.
Controller should be solid at 1.0. We haven't discussed wasd yet.

While the ladder was live, there was more strict rules around offline save manipulation. I won't discuss moderation status other than to say Boardman is currently in good standing with EHG.
We take a look at overall game balance every patch. As the ladder is going to be going live again in the not too distant future, we will be taking a closer look to try and promote as many higher end options as possible.
If you have specific suggestions for what balance changes you would like to see, the best place for that is on the forums or in #suggestions-and-like-to-see

I'm not actually sure. I think that reduced damage taken on block is multiplicative with normal block. I can't remember if this got changed or not but I think at one point it also worked on things applied by the blocked hit.
I can't speak to what the specific upcoming balance changes are going to be.
We do balance changes every major patch. The ladder should be arriving with the next major patch, 0.9.1.
im not asking for specifics, just that classes in general are gonna be fixed before adding ladders,
are there items i can "wear" that change specific mechanic overall like "lowers cooldown of all skill by 5%" or "critical kills grands you one random skill no cooldown for 4sec" but isnt an helmet ,glove,boots or so on ?
I'm sorry, I don't understand the question. There are affixes which can provide various stats including increased cooldown recovery speed and hundreds of other options.
We have idols which work basically the same as D2 charms but have a dedicated space for them to work in. These have their own things they can do including triggering abilities.
is it planned to get more individualism in the late game like upgrading the idols themself with something like their own affixes slots or something ?
nah this thing is too broken for any game, I mean the no cooldown
as for lowering cooldown on all skills, you can roll that affix on boot and some other slots

All I can say is that we will work to improve the overall balance of the game. This includes adjusting the power levels to be relatively similar build to build.

we literally had a guy up there raging about imbalance, you severely underestimate the number of people asking for balance in pve game

Yea I def notice load times are a lot longer in mp. I generally assumed it was from changing servers. Playing with some west coast friends we kept swapping from US east and US west servers.
I also think that was leading to more zone in bugs. (Duplicate/naked characters)

does it mean if I use upheaval and shockwave hits an enemy at range, next upheaval will deal 0 damage to that enemy?
if there is 3 enemies, you hit enemy 1 with upheaval then enemy 2 and 3 takes damage from the shockwave but not enemy 1
if you hit all 3 enemies with upheaval the shockwave doesn't do any damage to either of them
but "vice versa" part is what worries me, may also mean that enemy once hit by shockwave can't receive damage from the next upheaval
It doesn't work like that, it only refers to Upheaval/Shockwave from the same cast
then they should remove the word "vice versa"
because shockwave and upheaval don't take place at the same time, shockwave is always after upheaval, so "vice versa" can only mean that the next upheaval can't damage enemies hit by previous shockwave
If the Upheaval hits a mob, and procs a shockwave, that shockwave can hit a mob behind it before the Upheaval reaches that point

it's very misleading, I don't know why you say otherwise, from the description alone, it's easily misunderstood that enemies once hit by shockwave will never take hit from any other upheaval
the description is not clear about the upheaval and shockwave from the same instance, rather they encompass all instances of shockwaves and upheavals
to make it clearer, "from the same instance" should be added before "and vice versa"

Ethereal Arrows passive in Marksman tree says "Your bow attacks deal increased damage equal to a portion of their mana cost"
Does this apply to the damage of Multishots procced by channeled Flurry ? (with Fusillade skill point)
I would say no because for example passive "Barrage of Pain" is not procced by those multishot procs so it looks like those are not consider bow attacks, but it's not clear.

clearing two 200 level corruption vs clearing one 300 level corruption
However high you can go without majorly sacrificing clear speed.
You get more stability from further out nodes so it might be that you're picking nodes with less stability gain.

I was reading threads from like 2020-2022 regarding it, but given how much popularity for the game has grown just wondering if its back on the table or if anything changed in regards to the technical limitations that made it a hurdle before. No, it means that each enemy can only be hit once per use of upheaval and shockwave shares the same hit detection list per use.
Nothing has changed with regards to mac support.

Hey, how the Apostacy (BD tree) node works ? Is that normal when i take it i still have Dodge and not any increased GB chance ?

there is a grace period, right? the bronze colored buff you see when you zone in somewhere.
There is a bug which in some cases can cause the grace period to start ticking down before you have control of your character but it does exist.
It doesn't show in your character sheet but it is working.

Mac can support win10 games, I use a mac at work to play LE while working
Is it on the roadmap to improve controller support on screens where it currently requires tedious pointer movement in order to manage things? Simple example would be the map/quest screen but there are several.
Follow-on: if there are gameplay tasks that just can't be done without using M & K should those be reported as bugs?
Is Bone Share working within the Summon Skeleton skill? I see the bone armor animation on myself but don’t see any indiction of armor gain within the character sheet or the left hand corner by the health bar.
Is the timer meant to start after we've loaded into the level then? I think the general assumption from the player side has been that it starts while loading
Also is there any reason there is a timer alongside the take an action check, for removing it? I can't come up with anyway it could be abused if there were no timer

For the Divine Essences in the Paladin passive tree, do you have to do actual healing (like, restore health to a damaged player as opposed to using a heal at full health) to get a chance to roll one?
Also, someone in #💬┃general suggested that the healing would have to come from an ability to trigger a divine essence as opposed to healing from a passive tree, is that true?

Yes, we are planning on proper full controller support. This is the first patch that has any controller functionality in the menus at all.
